LD37 — One room

Withstand by PaidGEEK 2016-12-12T19:37:00

This was great fun... very disorientating when you first touch a wall!
Health and Shields weren't particularly obvious to me when playing, a larger gun would have been nice as well, I was very quickly becoming overrun by swarms of drones.
I think they may have won this uprising.
Really enjoyed this one even without shields!

Exit The Room Update 1.1 by Artsicle 2016-12-12T20:31:00

Never played a game where a challenge was simply to wait.
felt that as a escape the room type game it could have done with more challenges or puzzles to complete rather than simply cookie clicker and wait,
Although the concept of getting progression simply by doing nothing for five minutes did put me in mind of the Stanley Parable!

Super Sugar Juice Man by antishow 2016-12-14T19:18:00

Super Sugar Juice Man sounds a lot like Duff Man!
an interesting little game!

Making Things Okay by ShaunJS 2016-12-12T19:18:00

Love the looks of the game and feel to it, kinda like a Zen gravel garden in a way, plus the fact stuff gets broken off screen kinda makes it feel like there are little gremlins at work.
No progression or goal is required here but maybe discovering more new things like being able to move the sofa or water the plants would have been nice to give added incentive to keep playing.
I really nice little game!

Defend the Nukes! by Asturk 2016-12-12T19:48:00

Really fun little game! I really enjoyed playing it.
Could have done with a little feedback for the mouse, showing which "tower" was being selected/hovered over, maybe a pop up of the price rather than the noticeboard would have made the prices more obvious earlier in the game.
Very much enjoyed this one :)

The Mini-Man 3D by adrian09_01 2016-12-12T20:51:00

an interesting concept, controls felt a bit janky but other than that I enjoyed the game.
couldn't find the final coin but also couldn't collect the last coin on the shelf.

The Key by gironC 2016-12-14T19:03:00

This was really good, the 2.5D style fitted nicely with the theme. seemed to be a weird bug with the stairs pushing you back down, if at any point you stop on the last staircase you can't seem to reach the top without going right back to the bottom and trying again!
Nice work, I had fun with this one!

Bat Cave by schizoid2k 2016-12-12T19:56:00

A nice basic game, i liked the concept very much but felt death was too easy, a single touch by anything seems a bit harsh, a health or a life system would have been a nice touch.
nice job.

Faucet by AlmightyTuna 2016-12-12T19:00:00

That was awesome!
Totally not what I expected, nicely done! nice style and execution, nice use of the theme :)

Roomba Fight Club by JimmothySanchez 2016-12-12T20:59:00

A nice concept well presented though the controls seemed a little janky to me.

Hold the pipes by strong99 2016-12-12T18:52:00

This was interesting, it took me a while to figure out what I was supposed to be doing, but when I worked it out it was interesting,
Would have been nice if there had been some form of progression.
Atmosphere was great and the graphics also added to the concept.
Nice work :)

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

The Red Ribbon Killer by Avon 2017-12-05T12:43:28Z

I feel like this had a lot of potential, but I couldn't advance past the first screen with the detectives after clicking the phone, laptop and body... there Doesn't appear to be anything else I can do except be told I can't leave yet. Some kind of visual indicator of how to advance would be handy, I see from your screenshots there is further content, I just have no way of knowing how to reach it (I clicked every inch of the screen!) I'd like to play more, how does one continue?

The Red Ribbon Killer by Avon 2017-12-05T13:16:44Z

Thank you @Avon I sense a lot of social commentary going on there, much enjoyed. Feedback remains the same, perhaps highlighting objects you can interact with when you hover over them, and perhaps a way the player can choose who to arrest at the end? But yes, a really well pulled of narrative. Good job!

Alchegator by torcado 2017-12-05T02:19:02Z

This was awesome! Cute graphic style and really well presented throughout. I liked the paper hints, but I did find a few times I was completely lost, perhaps some kind of indicator for things you can combine after a period of not creating anything just to help the player along? Truly fantastic work

Hebe the ScOre Hunter by jamioflan 2017-12-05T13:01:32Z

This was a lot of fun! I'd have loved some kind of power up to allow you to steal back your ore from the pesky little robots, but not necessary I really enjoyed this, the music was wonderful and really set the mood. Great job!

Tower of Mana by Pedro Henrique Cesar 2017-12-05T13:48:14Z

I enjoyed the premise here, I found I had to wait around a few times for the mana to recharge enough to make certain jumps, which broke the flow of the game for me, but other then that a fun skill based platformer.

Overloaded by yishalee 2017-12-05T12:27:36Z

Fun little game, interesting mechanic/use of the theme, enjoyable but frustrating for sure! Loved the art style and music was very fitting. One error "..enemy.state not set before reading" couldn't replicate it but it occurred when I died first time.

Hug Me I'm Cold by reizoukin 2017-12-05T13:57:05Z

File extension needs to be added to extract the game, after learning the position of the log and tent it became very easy to progress without using any sweaters, perhaps randomising their location a bit would keep the challenge up?

How To War by machrom 2017-12-05T18:52:14Z

Really nice concept, think that the balancing might have been off (didn't seem to matter how many factories I made, I seemed to have negative weapons available and no war progression) Key binds for the factory/greenary would have been great, A fun interpretation of the theme, good job!

CHARLES DE GAULLE - 2122 - by Aerios 2017-12-05T13:40:15Z

It took me a little while to figure out how everything was supposed to work, could have used a little more prompting here and there and perhaps alerts to progress on each screen would have ramped up the panic factor? Great concept, an interesting little game.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Just Bill by gamedevbynight 2018-04-23T18:28:56Z

I really enjoyed this! but then I like puzzle games! I am 100% certain though that I didn't complete the later levels the way they were intended it was pretty easy to just build a ladder to the portal with the companions, but what the hey, I had fun! Nice job. There appears to be a lot of room for expansion too, there were mechanics I discovered that didn't seem implemented at all, like bill being seemingly able to stick to and potentially climb the walls, and his ability to push the companions (though I suspect some of the later levels probably were intended to be done this way) All the same, Nice job!

Clidger by Mathiouza 2018-04-23T19:00:22Z

Of all the games I have tried so far, this is the one I have played the most times before rating. Certainly interesting. tricky to get the hang of but I can imagine with some practice it's possible to get pretty good at it. My only real problem with it was that the speed of the ship made it very difficult to simultaneously look out for the enemies, their bullets and trying to collect points and not collide with anything or go off the edge of the screen. perhaps more time for balancing would solve this? Certainly one of the stronger games I have played so far.

Survival Deck by meles 2018-04-23T20:12:53Z

@Alans-Antics I did work on the core mechanics first, before implementing any of my grander ideas but having never made anything quite like this before I was at a complete loss as to how to go about doing a lot of it. that's what really ate up the time (that and bug squishing) Thanks for the feedback. I may add to it in the future, but honestly I say that after every LD and never do!!

Type Skater by Swarrly 2018-04-23T20:06:15Z

An interesting concept here, Maybe the timer is just a little too fast, or maybe if the words where a little larger I would have done better, rather than straining to see what they were before I typed! certainly looks really nice and anything that is skateboard themed is great in my opinion, but I don't think i successfully landed a thing! I will give this another go when I have a bit more time to recover from the weekend!

Colony Sniper by ab200 2018-04-23T18:38:42Z

I struggled to figure this one out, didn't seem all that intuitive but I like the concept. It reminds me of some of the old games I used to play on the Atari ST! Really not a fan of the alien noises though, they were quite repetitive and intrusive I think working on the instructions would vastly improve what is here, as well as adding more variety to the alien noises!

Ducks Hunter (Shooter + Racing) by StarzzDrak 2018-04-23T19:58:44Z

Nice work! A few technical issues, but honestly an interesting use of the theme and not something I would have ever come up with! But honestly, the level design and the models were exceptional, even with the bugs (I managed to launch myself into the air somehow and spent some time flying around the map) you should be very proud of what you achieved. And like I say, above all the actual design of the map was brilliant!

The Play Ground by LegionZ_Gaming 2018-04-23T19:21:51Z

Well, that wasn't a scenario I had ever anticipated! I couldn't find Jack for a while, until I discovered him hanging around in the bottom of the ocean, presumably looking for Davy Jones. The canon did a terrific job of launching me into the building where I was then stuck forever. (this seems fairly realistic mechanic) but I couldn't launch onto the roof to get the rum, which made me sad. Penny didn't want to talk to me. I couldn't understand what sheldon wanted as he kept talking over me..... again, a realistic representation of that character. All in all a fun first LD entry with a lot of potential for expansion! Flipping the sprites would be a good addition, as well as maybe speeding up the jump/walk speed. I'd also advise against using the same colours for the background elements as the characters as I kept disappearing into the doors of the buildings!

Shoot the Notes by minirop 2018-04-23T19:08:29Z

Was expecting the difficulty to ramp up the most successful hits you made, but no. Good effort for a first game jam and in less than six hours, you should be happy with what you have achieved. Thoughts for improvements, like I said some kind of ramping difficulty, I like the idea put above of hitting the beats of the sound loop, perhaps for some kind of bonus? Also different notes corresponding to different enemies and penilties if you shoot the wrong guy at the wrong time maybe? Lots of room for expansion on this one, would have been good to see what you had done had you had more time! nice work.

Deep Soul(TurnbasedPlatform) by Franz 2018-04-23T19:31:03Z

Well well, isn't this a gem. I'd love to see this expanded on! I didn't understand at first that I was planning a route for my body to follow, but when I did I discovered a very satisfying little puzzle platformer! Similar to Braid and PB Winterbottom in theme, but innovative movement to say the least. Great job!

Sneaky by The_Icy_One 2018-04-23T19:41:33Z

Game started fine for me! My score was 18100 though I suspect I could have achieved more fairly easily.

With a little more level design this could have been an interesting little game, as it is though there isn't a lot to it, I'd like to know more about what you had initially intended! certainly a good start especially considering you were learning as you went!

Gradris by Ben F 2018-04-23T19:47:25Z

Well theres an interesting take on a classic, nice work. it's intuitive and above all fun to play, I was never any good at tetris, perhaps this version might have made me try harder? Nice work!
