@ruoyu for me and people whom I've shown it - it works.

For me, it's stuck at this...
@ruoyu it's probably OpenFL/Haxe's fault. What it throws in debug console?
Funny! I liked the sound of the shot!
@ab200 The console has nothing...
Fun game. The monsters really kept me on my toes. :) Also, the little "moo" when they appeared really helped, nice sound design! However, after a while the monsters stopped coming at all & the game got really laggy. I feel like a goal to work towards would be nice here.
@ruoyu It may be because if you have adblocker on itch.io, they usually require you to watch an ad to play a game hosted there.
Interesting game, a bit much to read while fending of the aliens and I couldn't find any camera control buttons, only edge pan which worked fine. Overall, the game seems to have plenty of mechanics and the limiting resources forced the expansion. Fit the theme nice as well and a lot of graphical elements. Nice work!
Ha, the noises the aliens make is really amusing. This is a pretty cool game!
Cool idea and pretty fun game. I really enjoyed the sound effects. Thanks for playing my game too :)
@legiongames I know about the issue - it occurs because there is no way for monsters to get to the base. Aliens don't come and pathfinding still searching for path. I know, it is bug easy to repair - I could make monsters destroying other buildings instead, but I simply have too much work to catch this bug before times run out - maybe game is too ambitious for 24h development, maybe I'm lacking of skills. Still - thanks for opinion!
works for me, framerate just drops a bit once a lot of monsters are in play overall i had a pretty good time with this, its nice to chill a bit and build the colony up i'd criticise that it feels more like two games happening at the same time rather than one cohesive whole
I struggled to figure this one out, didn't seem all that intuitive but I like the concept. It reminds me of some of the old games I used to play on the Atari ST! Really not a fan of the alien noises though, they were quite repetitive and intrusive I think working on the instructions would vastly improve what is here, as well as adding more variety to the alien noises!
@meles thank you. If I decide to continue developing this, I'll implement tutorial.
I laughed the first time I heard an alien and watched it hit me. It was so unexpected, so nice work. Unfortunately, that alien sound got old and at one point, they started coming so often it started sounding like a herd of sheep. That's my main complaint, though another minor nitpick is that it was hard at first to figure out why I couldn't place certain buildings (I didn't have enough crystals). Some UI indicator of that may have helped. Otherwise, this is pretty impressive for 48 hours. Nice work!
I can't seem to place any of the buildings am I missing something? I like the idea. Also its a little annoying having the scrolling be on the mouse, everytime you go to click on a button the view scrolls away from your base.
@SelfTitled you need crystals for build and energy/meat/crystals for maintenance AND you must build in energy network (to see energy network click "lightning" icon) or in proximity of resource (dome must be built near crystals and food factory near mushrooms). Thanks for playing.
I have the same loading bar glitch. Itch.IO has never tried to run ads before, so it's not that. Do you happen to have a loading screen?
I liked your game, interesting and funny sound effects and graphics, the aliens where particularly nice.
It was a nice idea to mix the two genres but the alien sounds are very annoying. Also, took me a while to understand the mechanics of which building procudes what, where they should be placed and the order to built. In fact, i had to restart the game several times because i was stuck with no crystals.
Hey there, congratulations on submitting and what lovely pixel art. I like the game idea but my biggest complaint is that it needs a tutorial because it's very difficult to figure out why you can't build something, you eventually start to figure out the rules, but it's difficult and a couple little dialogs at the very start telling you "let's build a reactor" ok now you have a reactor let's build a restaurant, or whatever would go a long way.
ver, very hard. But had a good time.
Haha that alien sound got me! This scrolling with the mouse was really my only issue, I feel like the camera should be stationary. The game was fun though. Good job!
Love strategies. This one is good. Sounds of bugs and shooting are killing me :D
I got to a point were the creatures seemed to stop spawning. gameplay took a restart or two to figure out.
Nice little game with an amusing combination of genres. I can't add much to what others have said already, so just keep up the good work!
nice combo, the sfx can get a little grating, but other than that, I like the game
Loved the alien sounds, but the game gets hard quite fast :)
I'm dying of laughter (and aliens) repeatedly. Well done!
Yes the shooting sound is really good and funny, the aliens noises not so much. Love the pixel art and the overall use of theme. If you do continue besides a tutorial please put in a way to move the camera other than edge pan. Congrats on completing and submitting your game!
5 stars for humor, those sound effects are priceless! The gameplay is not too engaging, some turrets would be a nice addition. And it would be a much better choice to use lower res pixel art. Would look more coherent.
@Lerg I'm thinking about turrets in possible post-compo version or wiping out aliens entirely and impelemneting RPG-style battle system.
Was attracted by graphics and premise of city building. Alien world and especially monsters are well drawn. At first I was more into the idea of quietly building a town, but those monsters kept popping up so it all looked like a bad trip, combined with lovely at first but eventually trollish sounds that they make (I had to set system volume to 4 out of 100). At some point I realized I could block off access to the pyramid by building houses all around it, after I done that a state occurred which can only be described as victory, since all the aliens stopped moving :D Haven't tried to continue playing past that point since all there was left to do was build more of what has already been built and keep spreading on like a fungi. Good job on managing to do a city builder in compo time, the setting is charismatic.
