cool idea that fits the theme
would have liked some more since level design is what carries this kind of game imo
Op. A
i like the idea of having to actually turn your mouse around and stand still while shooting and having the projectils bounce between enemies is cool
that said you could have done a better job explaining the control scheme, i spent my first couple tries figuring out that the character only moves left
my highscore is 58
really fun once you get the hang of it
awesome use of the theme!
felt great to get the screen clear, without it your screwed though
it's really satisfying to have all the letters you need typed out and go for the mouse
maybe its all the debugging i've been doing recently :)
a good concept nicely executed, well done!
pretty solid mechanically, and really fun once you get a couple yoyos and frency
could have been cool to reward the player for pulling the yoyos back somehow
my highscore is 633900 :)
i quite liked the visuals and music
please consider us qwertz users in the future though as zx is a little awkward for us
definite stand out for me, could have handed this to me on a gbc and told me it was a forgotten pearl and i would not have objected
i'd love to see a post compo version with some more variety
very nice audio and interesting visuals
i think figuring out the puzzle would be more engaging if the movement wasnt as slow
fantastic art and audio, the turning wheels on the cannon were especially charming
i would have liked a slighty longer delay before the continuous fire when holding down LMB, i'm kinda clumsy ;)
Sick!
kinda fun, i wish i was able to aim the throw
i did it!
this feels like one of those games i'd find on shareware cds back in the day and play for hours, just good simple fun
turning was quite difficult though and a map would have been nice i think
i liked the style and the premise which fits the theme nicely imo
i think i did it, its hard to tell because the screens switch on any key and i'm in the process of mashing keys when they come up
i quite liked the atmosphere and the concept
imo the platforming didn't really serve the narration, maybe something like a runner would have worked better
fun little game, good job!
not having health pickups makes it really difficult though
that was delightful, good job!
the hacking mechanic is neat and the music was nice and chill
might have been been nice to focus on either the hacking or platforming part
the weapons feel really good, it looks great and the enemies little grouchy voices are adorable
would have been cool to see some other way to ramp up the difficulty (super frowny people? ^^)
thought i knew exactly where you were going with this, i didn't good job!
the visuals are nice and the concept is original, good job!
i would have like some way to release the bullets myself as to make it a little more tactical
this put a big smile on my face
the movement is really cool
is it actually possible to kill the robots?
i did kite them around kicking up dust for quite a while
the mugslinger is the kinda man who doesn't look back
...
or his developer didn't think of that until last minute and did not want to change the formula too much but will probably try it once compo is over because it makes sense
the minimalistic graphics and audio work together nicely
very unique, great work!
looks and sounds amazing, no doubt about that
the controls felt just a little off, i think a little tweaking on the de/accelleration would be nice
The music was nice and kept me playing for a while
I might be missing something but i didn't notice any real difference between the elements other than color. I wish you had prioritized the base mechanic during development.
the concepts is very cool, audio and visuals are both pleasant and clean.
i think a small arrow to display the upcoming direction would have helped my tiny brain immensly
left a smile on my face +1
when i saw the download size my first thought was, i bet this has a some pretty great music, wasn't wrong :)
the game itself is pretty ruthless.
thanks guys, i was worried i made it too easy :)
i guess playtesting something for prolonged times kinda warps your perception
had a lot of fun playing this one
even though playing it i kept thinking...why skateboards? why balloons? why do the butterflies turn into geometric shapes?
it's weird but has a kind of oldschool-nonsensical-charme about it, its a game after all, no need to justify everything
Was kinda turned off at the start but then just kept on playing. The combos are pretty cool.
i killed 673 ghouls
nice and simple, the music was good
not sure about the narrator, i think i like it?
i mean i never even told him hes my daddy in the first place :)
my finaly score is 452
simple, looks great, thumbs up
sounds and looks great, the theme feels a little out of place if i'm honest
Really cool looking, also has a good "feel" to it.
Now excuse me while i look at a white wall for a bit,
I love how you used the theme.
It's one of those things where i immediately went "of course, how didn't i think of that!!"
It'd be great if you could clear up the whether theres a clear rule/goal and if so how it works in the description.
I really liked the way the controls work, it's so much more intuitive than some key setup would have been.
The escalating music is also a nice touch.
It takes a while to get going though which makes replays kinda arduous.
the base mechanic and music are great
takes a litte long to get to the actual cool stuff
before that its just a basic platformer
cool idea, but i think focusing on the core(controls, camera,...) and keeping the scope(levels, amount of shapes, ...) small would have helped big time in conveying it
as it stands most people will just fall off the table and get mobbed by robots ^^
i quite like the idea of this one and had some fun, good job!
streamlining the design would have kept me playing for a lot longer i think
like removing the aiming and reducing enemy bullet speed and quantity so you have a shot at dodging them
sweet!
sweet and simple, i think you achieved what you set out to do.
i like broad guy the best, tall guy is kinda arrogant and circle guy is just too easy going :)
great take on a classic
Nice little game I liked that you included some additional mechanics with the time stop and acc mechanic. I think they could have felt better if you just had to press once instead of holding the button while also increasing the recharge rate.
Very cool entry
Graphics and Sound come together to create a really nice mood. Both background and 3d graphics were nice by themselves, i just wish they would combine a bit better. While playing i got the feeling that there is a lot more to this little world which i feel is a real achievement for a gamejam game. It does have the same kind of scene transition problems i had when playing games like grim fandango. (where can i go? where am i now? is this walkable?)
PS: FYI theres a crash when pressing b on a controller
Simple and really fun expecially when you manage to combo machineguns the difficulty progression is kinda whack but hey thats jam games for ya
Got to Lvl71
Woo, i stopped everyone from going to the gym. I guess now i know how to stop people from hogging equipment at my gym ;)
I really liked the intro, pretty rare in jam games. The idea is also something i have not seen before. I think the game would have benefited from either tightening the gameplay part and throwing in maybe another cutscene to tell a more complete storyline or adding some more options to the gameplay part to experiment with.
You might want to add a small how to play to the description, no need to spoil anything but maybe let people know you have to stop people by 7 for example.
PS: I just got to the part where your cellphone says you've stopped everyone, if i've missed something please leave a comment including @IDidGame and I'll try to replay
The little astronaut is really cute and the tiles are a nice throwback. Also getting the item on the right was a nice little aha moment.
You already addressed the biggest problems in your known issues. The shooting doesn't really feel too responsive which i think could be fixed by increasing the speed or adding a small reload meter. I was also a bit confused when i won by walking to the top left but i guess thats what was meant by escaping.
I also really liked the visuals, the microms themselves and the way they spawn from the plants is adorable. Having the seeds(?) drop from the enemies and sprouting right in that place was really cool too. That being said some more polish on the gameplay(cant shoot to the far right) and especially the balancing(sometimes no enemies with food would spawn) would have really made it great. Got 2204 points.
Well done, overall really fun. The clean simple graphics works well for this and its better balanced than a lot of these kind of games. Just those red planets come in a little fast sometimes even though that might just be me being bad at looking at the minimap. A small visual queue to announce one might be cool. Got a Highscore of 295
Quite liked the visuals as well. Also collecting keywords and typing them in at the end is a nice oldschooly thing to do. For this type of twin stick I'd like the screen to be zoomed out some more so I have a chance to dodge the enemies bullets.
Genuinely funny and sweet game Could use some tightening up in places but other than that no real complaints.
A really pleasant experience, I think you pretty much nailed what you were going for here. I just wish there would have been more of a resolution at the end. (even though it might just have gone over my head ;) ) More of a nitpick but i would say that some of the autoscroll sequences could also have been a bit shorter.
Relaxing little game, actually made a cup of earl grey afterwards :)
I think I can see what you were going for here, kinda like a minecraft mod i can't remember the name of right now. It's a really great fit for the theme and i kinda played with that idea as well.
I honestly tried gice it a fair go, going as far as looking at some code to see what i could actually do. In the future please make sure to think of the people who will play your game in the end. That does not even mean making an incredibly polished game but if theres something missing or buggy make sure to mention it in the description and most people will respect that.
But hey thats a lesson I'm still learning myself and thats what were here for after all so keep it up!
Can only agree with the previous comments. I really liked the idea and the flavour text there is(the different endings are especially cool) Adding more different text to the actual gameplay would have been great. Also lengthening the bars to maybe four or five stars and rebalancing around that might have been good since that would dial the luck factor back a bit. On the other hand that might take away from the hopeless, stranded in space vibe that i liked.
Oh, the humanity!
Haven't played a lot of clickers but leveraging one to tell a story / tell a message seems like a really cool idea.
Really neat entry, super pleasant to play. Extra thumbs up for dimming the music in decision time, thought that was a really nice touch.
Got to 3753
i loved the music, combined with the slightly surreal models and the rain it gave off a very dreary vibe(in a good way) and i really like the contrast to the wholesome puzzle parts for a gamejam i might have preferred a focus on one type of puzzle, the shift from pointNclick to perspective puzzles was a bit confusing to me
enjoyed figuring out the order of operation, movement could have used some tweaking(higher de/acceleration with lower top speed?)
very solid entry, love seeing the genre i wish what was going on was better communicated to the player (whats my chance of hitting? how much damage am i gonna do? which cones even belong to me?)
the puzzle boss type setup is really cool, great idea that lets you do more with less movement is missing some of the "special sauce" a lot of modern platformers are using which i see you've been working on in your post compo i stopped at the level where the hands were floating left and the head on the right side, i guess you would have to wall jump off the top left hand but half the time the wall jump would not work because the hands were moving overall pretty fun!
this is so dumb, i love it!
i like the concept but i think i would have preferred at least the option of some man made levels
what a unique way to tell a story, nice package overall, i really liked it ...the darksoulsian boar encounter was a bit much though must have taken me 5 tries at least :)
looks and sounds dope which kept me playing for quite a while despite the gameplay not having too much depth
neat twist on the viral reproduction type game
damn, that is fun as hell! great style too!
numbers at the top show active and defeated enemies added it to the description, thanks!
@gonzako @rafael-pontes i've added a webgl build
when reading about the scoring system in the description i was a little confused but playing it makes perfect sense and keeps the game from becoming stale i loved the sound effects, i'm gonna have to try that in a future jam, one of the few games where i feel confident actually giving a humor rating overall this was pretty fun, got a score of 17
eat, drink and procreate...why would they ever want to leave? did i kill them in the end? this tree is evil isn't it... all joking aside this was refreshingly chill, well done!
i liked discovering all the different endings, even though playing it over and over takes away from the mystery of the plant a bit, well done!
fun old school gameplay and nice bgm! i got 926, difficulty ramps up quick maybe reduce regular enemies once the tougher ones are added
i knew someone would need that battery! :)
hell yeah a 6dof shooter, now theres an underrepresented genre in gamejams gameplay is fun and combined with the catchy bgm it kept me playing for quite a while upping player shot speed a bit or decoupling them from player speed might have been good since its hard to hit enemies at a distance and while strafing, thats not a dealbreaker for me though since i enjoy the 6dof movement
i really like that you have to decide whether to venture forth or return to the fire, reminded me of dark souls the jumping can be a bit wonky at times but overall i had a pretty good time
pretty fun, gladly finished it quite liked the art, bgm sounds like something i'd make sorry :)
stomping around with the beast was fun, the graphics are pretty cute i felt kinda bad for it though being harassed by those hunters automatically mounting the beast was kinda frustrating since i did it just about every time i would try to get to something below the beast after dismounting
i love the idea, having an exciting dogfight happen every once in a while would certainly be better then most combat we've gotten in city builders in the past visuals are simple but nice and while the gameplay is quite minimal and easy i'd rather that then it being too hard
graphics are cute, running back and forth between the items is a bit tedious
thats a very cool mechanic! bit rough around the edges but not distracting from the core gameplay which i think is really fun
simple, stylish, great fun i got to wave 21, the beginning is a bit slow, faster ramp up with more frequent upgrades might have been cool
super fun dashing around trying to clean everything up, graphics are stylish but kinda disorienting
i could use come of what you're smoking seriously though i like the weird, there should be more weird at gamejams
very cool concept, i also liked the look of the dungeon
cute turtle, my finger are killing me though :)
neat simple mechanic and well executed the best thing imo is that its funny by mechanic, not by using jokes, memes or whacky graphics
great presentation, especially the graphics! i liked the laser puzzle, the last one was a bit much
good old sokoban, nice! pretty cool that theres a leaderboard too.
very fun once you get into it, nice presentation too! the key repetition kicks in a bit fast for my taste
Very interesting! Really makes you think and the sound responding to your actions was very nice. I think it might have been cool if there were some descriptions for the individual memories.
super cool concept, very nice presentation!
bumping into the boxes it pretty fun, got killed when the shipped kinda spazzed out after colliding with multiple things
loved the presentation, gameplay was also very fun! my best score was 1060
i somehow made it through and finished in 236s, my shield stopped at the last asteroid both times ^^
its pretty fun trying to balance the different needs, kinda stressful though, i lasted 377s
fun game, cool concept, i also quite liked the visual style one stage in the middle with 2x1 1x2 and 1x4 blocks was quite hard for me
very pleasant audio and visuals, fun gameplay! my best score was 893
great entry, i love an rts thats not actively stressfull even though there was no time pressure i still tried to optimize my build just watching the workers walk about is pretty fun
very interesting setup for a tower defense, i got to level 32 i played it more like a clicker game matching colors because i was not sure how to strategize which was kinda fun
i like the idea, always nice to have a shooter that does not default to guns, spaceships, ... the movement is pretty challenging, i wish it felt more consistent
my best score was 67
super fun, very cool mechanic, its really interesting to see the landscape you've created after playing for a bit getting killed felt a bit underwhelming because it usually was due to me overlooking an indicator rather than being pressed by enemies or mistiming i got to 37 kills with 4 height
shooting is super satisfying! immediately understandable and nice amount of challenge! some kind of combo mechanic might have elevated it even more! overall great entry!
i liked the presentation and the mechanics are pretty cool, especially interacting with yourself over borders just please dont crank the difficulty to kaizo levels on stage 2 ;)
very nice, simple, chill game, i like the graphics a lot!
neat little game, cute little blob wish it let me continue at the start of the level instead of starting over completely
pretty fun, cool concept, i really like the curveball in the last level, wish there was more like that
its really sweet that you can ram the enemies while your shield is up!
pretty nice visuals, the puzzle is very simple but totally works having the gun shoot in the direction of the character when the camera is controlled by the mouse was kinda strange for me
you might want to mention in the description that the gun is picked up with RMB and fired using LMB
neat concept, i quite liked the environmental dangers like asteroids, the difficulty seems way too punishing though sometimes
very fun, i always like interestingly themed TDs, being able to move everything on the fly is a very cool and works perfectly in the concept
very cool concept, quite scary to have the enemies stare at you through the doors the very close quarters were a bit annoying as getting stuck would kill me even if i had a sound plan
very cool, in the later stages picking a spot of attack and watching the ensuing mass shootout was especially fun doesn't really hit the theme but i feel like we all collectively struggled with that ^^
Neat game, having gameplay affect the story is really cool. I also liked the low rez graphics and having different variations of songs for the temples was nice. its just that respawning enemies and no checkpoints is oldschool cool but also a bit of a pain.
Audio and graphics are really cute and the idea seems cool. Maybe I'm missing something here but getting past the initial onslaught seems almost impossible. (Got past it once but was missing 2 bucks to build a second tower) Either letting me shoot up or severely limiting the width of the level could have worked well imo.
i really like the idea, usually players dont have much to do during a wave in tds i wish the game moved a bit faster and switched the track more often currently placing towers in the most advantageous positions in not feasible since it takes enemies forever to get there
what an amazing concept, great job!
this was really fun, i had great time playing the execution is really solid i just wish you had intertwined the genres more
i liked it, not sure why, finished it too
good job, quick little fun game dont know why but spaceman uncontrollably bouncing off an asteroid is really funny to me ^^
loved it! i had the self imposed goal of getting to the top had some falls along the way but i did it, felt great
Fits the theme pretty well, I also really like the idea. I had a hard time figuring out which resources to prioritize and whether I was about to loose or win so giving some more helpful information on the right screen would have been great i think.
works for me, framerate just drops a bit once a lot of monsters are in play overall i had a pretty good time with this, its nice to chill a bit and build the colony up i'd criticise that it feels more like two games happening at the same time rather than one cohesive whole
pretty fun, played until wave 29 wish there were some more city builder elements to give it more depth
@frostdragonliz good point!
really liked figuring out the carrots tell during the fight kinda scratching my head trying to figure out the story (received seeds, one grows up to fight you, ..?) would have been cool if it was a bit longer so the two button mechanic could have gotten some more play
great concept well executed, some more variety and balancing would have been great got a highscore of 2450
thats a pretty weird concept, well executed though maybe you should think about opting out of the audio category since the music is from 3rd parties i have no idea how to rate that
good job on the physics and the path indicator, that stuff can be tricky imo this is more kerbal+clicker with all those switches for thrust ^^
Pretty fun once you get a good run going, sometimes the bomb placement just screws you though so some more balancing would have been great. Also I'm not entirely sure what the slam actually does. I really liked the cute artstyle and catchy audio, with a bit more polish on the gameplay and balancing i reckon I would have kept playing for a while. My highscore was 972.
i love the concept of an rts that sources its combat out to some other genre, the transition between the two is very cool indeed the rts part is really well made i just wish there was some more depth to it, the platforming is charming in its mayhem
now those are some incompatible genres ^^ surprisingly fun, almost fended the (pretty imposing) host of angels off twice but got done in by one of the last ones. controls could use some work, its also hard to tell when youre going to take damage from being to close to an angel.
