Hard game but like the feel and look of it
Really like the idea , cool concept dude :D
Cool game man , lots of fun to play around with
Added it fanttum :)
Thanks man. I guess the king was so jealous he didn't even think what he was saying XD
amazing
Thank you all for the feedback so far, I'm glad people are enjoying it!
As for the combat issue where the skeletons can land an attack on you whenever you get close enough to attack them... I wasn't too sure how to get around the issue without making the character too OP. Maybe with more time to balance the game I would have found a work around. Thanks for all your comments though, I'll definitely look into combat mechanics in more depth for my next project!
Happy Ludum Daring!
Pretty sweet game. I liked the atmosphere and mood. I would say that the backtracking was a little frustrating but overall a good game!
Very innovative. I love the unique approach to story telling. I think there's a lot of potential to be explored here. I'm amazed how much content you were able to produce in one weekend. Nice work!
Thanks everyone for the feedback so far!
I agree that the blind buy mechanic is less than ideal and has no real value for the game. As time was running out I never got round to finishing my shop system and was forced to implement the blind buying as a quick fix XD
This was the first time I attempted a strategy game for LD and I learnt the hard way the sheer amount of code a balancing required. This meant that I had less time than I would have liked to polish the graphics, audio and tutorial.
Anyway, I look forward to hearing more feedback. Happy Ludum Daring to all!
Input can feel a little clunky at times and I found it frustrating having the restart the game every time I died. Great job with the artwork and polish though!
Awesome game, I had a lot of fun playing it! It's rewarding and challenging without being frustrating. Nice touch putting the logo in the top right to help those of us who are less artistically inclined XD
One piece of criticism is that sometimes it is hard to see what viruses are still untreated. I know that they pulse if they are untreated but it was a little hard to see this on the later levels.
The game would probably work very well for touch screens so maybe making a mobile version could be something worth pursuing...
Overall a fantastic game that I enjoyed a great deal. I could definitely see myself playing many more levels if given the chance! Keep up the good work!
Great game! I had a lot of fun playing it and there is a decent amount of content. The art is pleasing and fits the funny tone of the game nicely. I also enjoyed the voice acting at lot!
As has been mentioned already, I found the player movement to be floaty and a little slow. The only other suggestion I would make would be to add some kind of visual warning that an enemy is about to turn around. This would avoid the frustration of getting caught without being given the chance to evade.
All in all, solid entry. Keep up the good work!
Excellent entry! I can't believe you made this in 72 hours. A few bugs here and there but on the whole and very cool game. I especially loved the visual style!
Awesome game! It's simple and to the point. Had a lot of fun playing it. Love the retro feel!
Stunning! I spent far too much time playing this game XD ... Best game of LD38 I've played so far
