Sadly no Linux or Web version.

2017-05-01 17:15

Good Job man, i really liked the concept and the art of the game.

hadik 2017-05-01 18:17

Nice and polish entry :) I finish it, it should be longer, but everything is great. Awesome graphics and atmosphere.

samusoidal 2017-05-01 19:05

Very poor performance on my PC, but nice graphics and audio. Excellent animation, though. Good job!

samusoidal 2017-05-01 19:06

Also, I forgot to say, I made my first game in Blender... Memories.

kinjin 2017-05-02 01:51

Nice to see a BGE game, and very well executed !

Art is really great and good work on logic.

Like the surprise at the end.

I played it on Linux with Wine.

matoux42 2017-05-02 08:59

I think it's one of the best LD38 game I have play so far. Geat job !

devastus 2017-05-02 12:17

Some glitchyness here and there, like the first lever animation, but it's a nice little story with good visuals. Well done!

fernandoadolfo 2017-05-02 14:52

Amazing game in every way. Good graphics, good controls and nice camera. It has fights and story despite is short. Good music for the atmosphere. Unfortunately it doesn't have more versions (web version would be perfect) so everyone can play it, but anyway this is a really good game. Highly recommended, good job.

somethinboutgames 2017-05-02 18:58

I'm sorry, I can't play this without major frame drops and incredibly long input delays on my laptop, although that is probably the machines fault and not yours :) The game looks really good on the screenshots and the few choppy moments of gameplay I could see. I'm not going to rate it because I couldn't see much, I hope you'll do well anyway

Also: it's interesting to find a blender game engine game on ludum dare, good job :)

rodrigo-denubila 2017-05-03 02:55

I loved the graphics of the game. Congratulations. The controls and the camera could be more fluid and smooth, but this don't make the game bad. Unfortunately is too short, I wanted to play more.

Check it out my game too: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/the-microns

walnoot 2017-05-03 15:14

Excellent game, I'm not used to seeing games this polished (although it ran a bit slow on my crappy laptop, but thats not your fault). You really get a feeling of exploration when playing the game. The fighting mechanics are not very deep however, and I feel like some kind of puzzle mechanic would have fit the overall style of the game better.

drestuff 2017-05-03 15:29

A very solid Ludum Dare entry! I feel that the cut scenes really helped with the overall experience, they were definitively well worth the effort. Great work!

henrybell 2017-05-03 15:43

Excellent entry! I can't believe you made this in 72 hours. A few bugs here and there but on the whole and very cool game. I especially loved the visual style!

lancescaterpie 2017-05-03 18:39

Really bad framerate for me (Windows 10) shame because what I saw looked really good!

lipsch 2017-05-03 18:45

Very nice art. Nice athmospheric music. Some objects (levers) are not placed correctly on the ground.. The Planet really seems smaller then it is :D What disturbed me a bit was that you dont have any checkpoints.. That would have made it perfect. Very nice Work! (:

rabbittortoise 2017-05-03 19:27

Nice entry. The game has good art and background music. The planet feels much smaller than it is in reality. There were some glitches in the animations but otherwise it played great. Little short but good game for 72 hours.

unit684 2017-05-03 21:43

Fantastic models and textures. The animations were all top-notch and I really liked the cutscenes and world design. The music was also really nice. The combat could be extended a bit but overall a really nice story game and I'm amazed it was put together in a weekend!

superpokeunicorn 2017-05-03 22:43

Visually, this game is very impressive given the time constraint. The textures, models, and animations are top notch! The game's visuals are stylized nicely and the tiny planet is very cute. However, the game does feel empty as a result of not having sound effects. It feels jarring when the player character comments on a "loud noise" that I didn't get to hear myself. The combat is a bit basic, but largely unobtrusive. Still, it would have been nice if there was more to the combat. Exploration and puzzle solving is enjoyable, if a bit basic as well. Overall, I think that the presentation of the game is great, even if there isn't too much to the gameplay. This is a very well made entry to be sure.

realitycheck 2017-05-03 22:58

Truly a gorgeous game for a Jam. Impressive graphics, animation and the music was good. Story was entertaining to play through. Excellent implementation of the theme as well.

The combat did feel a bit lackluster, and the camera was a little strange. Would have preferred if it stayed behind the character, so I didn't have to move my mouse to rotate the camera when turning.

Overall, though - this was an impressive game, and I am glad I got to play it.

rodrigo-denubila 2017-05-04 00:14

Hi! I added a Windows build for my game, as you suggest, check it out https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/the-microns

pedro-henrique-cesar 2017-05-04 02:05

• Good graphics for a 72h jam! Did you guys make it on the jam or already had the assets? Just curiosity;

• Music is good and relaxing;

• Combat is glitchy, when a spider dies with another one on top of it your hits actually hits the spider's corpses;

• The game is pretty easy because every event fires 2 spiders and they are really easy to kill, making the game not challenging at all, try more enemies next builds or so;

• Animations are good but some are not synchronized (like the astronaut pulling the lever);

• Overall the game is good and fits this year's theme, good job guys.

mahalis 2017-05-06 21:00

Nice! Short, but well produced; I'm impressed y'all were able to model / texture / animate all of this in 72 hours. Could have used a little more varied gameplay - another type of enemy or a different weapon (projectile, maybe?), but it was fun.

mcjammydodger 2017-05-11 14:06

Unfortunately I can't run this game on my laptop without a very low frame rate and severe input lag, even clicking buttons on the menu was hard because of the lag. So because of this I won't rate the game play, but the graphics look very nice. I was also surprised to see a Blender game on here.

tuomo 2017-05-11 16:49

Thumbs up for the wonderful visuals. I can’t believe you made alone all those models and textures, and managed to make working game at same time. Truly amazing job!

Here is couple of little notes for improvement. Enemies would sometimes clip through each other and attack from same spot. After killing one I wasn’t able to attack the other one. Also hitting an enemy didn’t give any feedback upon hit, unless you constantly looked at health bar. It wasn’t always clear where I was supposed to go or what to do. Hotspots (or the red orb things) were bit small, I spent some time searching around the planet before finding next one.

But anyway overall amazing game! And made with Blender, I think this the first one I ever played.

zeler 2017-05-11 21:00

Best graphics I've seen in a Jam so far. .. But unfortunately, graphics are the only thing it has going!

That, and small planet thing, which is cute. I wish the combat was a bit more interesting! Maybe somehow implement the small planet as a mechanic? As it stands, you just bash some spiders while running backwards..

Still, I have to praise the graphics again. Very personal and beautiful.

benjamin 2017-05-11 21:57

Graphics were amzing. The cutscene are great too, they add a lot to the mood, but gameover animation/fade is what you needto implement first on a game like this one.

mmason 2017-05-11 22:36

very nice game, a bit short but overall enjoyable. I really enjoyed the visuals and audio and I liked the puzzle elements. I feel like this game could benefit from a slightly bigger world with more puzzles, or maybe several worlds.

mwcz 2017-05-11 22:49

I watched your timelapse and I was so cool to see how you created all models and textures by scratch yourself. This game is VERY creative literally. You made me want to learn blender!

tetristar-interactive 2017-05-12 03:53

Unfortunately I keep getting ~15 fps throughout. Wish I could experience it as intended.

ectucker1 2017-05-13 19:16

The concept is pretty cool, and the exploration was fun. Combat, however, felt really rough. It never seemed like anything more than spam clicking. The "loud noise" the player mentions never played for me. I suppose it's just not there.

Good job with the models and art.

siryakko 2017-05-14 06:39

Loved the atmosphere and now i want more of it. Maybe some performance improvement could make the experience a bit smoother. But overall i liked it

kaisean-games 2017-05-14 12:09

Cool. Was the other guy's ship there all the time? Cause I surely didn't see it.

Cool graphics. Never saw that detailed game in Blender.

Well done.

hiki911 2017-05-14 19:09

Nice game. Really impressed!

earthcollapse 2017-05-14 19:55

Wow! It's really amazing that you made all this in 72 hours! All those models, textures and animations in such a short timeframe is really impressive. I had a bug where the player got stuck after the cutscene where you pull the first lever, but other than that everything worked perfectly. The combat is a little rough, as it's quite hard to hit the spiders without getting hit because it's hard to tell when they're attacking. The audio also felt a bit lacking, especially when the protagonist mentions loud noises and nothing plays. Other than that, I'm really impressed! Also, props for using Blender Game Engine :)

sean-s-leblanc 2017-05-15 05:15

This is quite an impressive amount of 3D asset development given the time limit!

A few criticisms: - The combat feels a bit pointless; it's too shallow to be challenging and is a bit clunky overall. I think the time spent implementing combat would have been better spent polishing other portions of the game. - Suffers a bit from adventure game logic; if a random hunk of pipe is good enough for a makeshift lever, you'd think the wrench the astronaut has already would work too - The cutscenes were a bit buggy: in particular the camera + the levers would jump around a bit

Overall though, this is a nice entry!

veksell 2017-05-16 14:06

Nice game, I like graphics a lot. I think combat need some fix.

Bow down to the space explorer! Amazing game, I was actually immensely surprised by how good the game looks - the 3D assets look amazing, the sounds is completely on point and made the game even more pleasant to play, the controls are fluid easy to understand, you could say that the combat is not perfect but it doesn't bother me at all, only adds to the charm. The story is amazing, you even made cutscenes! Overall I have nothing bad to say about this game this is the first game that I gave 5/5 all across the board, you guys are amazing!

simonmnt 2017-05-16 14:16

The look is great, nice game. Really impressed!

prototyke 2017-05-16 14:29

I liked the graphics, and the game seemed interesting. Impressive amount of work. Unfortunately, I couldn't beat it. After the button, the game would lag horribly and I would die to the those spiders without fail. I tried multiple times, but at best I could kill 1 before it froze and then I died. The spiders also have a longer range than your wrench and make the same noise when you hit their corpse as when you hit the spider, so it is very easy to think you are attacking, but actually doing nothing. Also, the character comments on loud noises, but none play. Since you have other noises, this may be a glitch for me.

anubhav-kashyap 2017-05-16 15:23

Really, really like your game! The cover image looks awesome, though!
