Very nice looking game with some good music! The dance move idea is really cool but it'd be nice to have a score or something to see how well you are doing.
What a game! This is really cool, it could do with some sounds and music though. I'm gonna download that engine and give it a look :D
Great game, I had to force my self to stop playing to go to bed :D
First played it on easy and found it a bit boring but after giving it a go on hard it was much more fun! Nice music and a good game idea, all it needs is a few more tracks!
Thanks! Did you shapeshift into the wolf? It moves twice as fast
Just finished it! Some really nice art and level design, I love the different forms and their uniqueness. Would have been nice with a boss battle but I understand the time limitations. Also, I picked up the orb at the end but wasn't sure if I could do anything after that?
It took a few tries but I managed to get 10 :D Really fun when you get used to the controls and watching out for all the other elementals. Lovely art style with nice animations too!
Tried to download the source but couldn't get it working properly on Windows. It kept crashing when trying to iterate through the m_enemies vector. Haven't rated it yet, will come back if you get a windows build working :)
Nice graphics and music! It's a fun game but I'd like some more relevance to shapeshifting and maybe some obstacles or something
Fairly simple little game with some good level design. I didn't really understand the combat though. Do you just attack monsters by walking into them or is there a button for it? I may have got the record for lowest score a the end of level 6 (-150) :P
Just tried it out on my vive and it's really fun! I love the idea of tower defense in vr and this works really well. The art is really nice and it's fun to play. I'd definitely buy something like this if it was a bit more fleshed out. I think 3d models for the enemies would improve it. Also, it's a bit annoying having to hold your thumb down on the touchpad to cast a spell, I'd prefer if the icon and spell aiming stayed there during the attack phase.
Pretty fun platformer with some nice music and sfx. I'd like some checkpoints but maybe that's just me being greedy :P
Nice little game idea, the lift from the air things seemed a bit random, maybe I just need to time the transform properly.
Nice little puzzle game. A cool mechanic with a lot of potential for different shapes/sizes.
Pretty fun game once you get used to it, some visual representation of bullets/lasers would be nice though.
Really nice game, well done :D
Nice job for your first game! The music fits well, as does the art style. I'd like to see the shapeshifting play more of a part in the game though. It is also a bit easy, maybe make some enemies that take longer to kill?
Fun game with a nice art style and an interesting main mechanic, well done! Didn't manage to find her but maybe I just didn't play long enough. Also, the gun still shoots after the meter runs out.
Really fun idea, I love games that play around with gravity. I couldn't manage the 3rd or 4th levels but completed the 5th so it might be worth rearranging them. Might just be me though.
Nice art style and simple but satisfying gameplay! Well done!
Nice little platformer with some good artwork and reasonably challenging platforming. Well done!
Nice game. Really fun and satisfying. I love that as your ship gets bigger, it gets really hard to avoid things and you need to rotate properly to dodge. One thing I would like is some kind of warning when a circle is about to fly across the screen, got screwed over by them a couple of times!
Nice platformer with super hard levels and a really cool art style. For some reason I didn't hear any sounds though. By the way, if you fall off on the tutorial, it doesn't restart you.
Short and simple game which looks really nice and has some good sound effects! Some more levels or new mechanics would be nice though :)
Really nice looking game but I couldn't figure out how to get past the guards. I transformed into the box and still died. Has potential though :)
Nice game! I managed to finish it after a few tries. There's quite a few interesting puzzles in there and it's quite a bit of content for a weekend! One minor thing is if you jump, you fall back down even though there should be no gravity :)
Really nice game, perfectly paced and really fun to play. Hard at first but gets a bit easier as you upgrade and the last gun and bullets are crazy OP! I spent way too much time playing this :) (little bug, gun still shoots after death)
Really nice sense of atmosphere, the creepy music and sound effects really add to the immersion. The menus could use a bit of work but the in-game UI was pretty good. I managed to complete it too! The last chest took a while.
Confusing game, as others have said. The models are quite nice and I like the minimalist graphical style. I also like the idea of figuring things out but maybe highlight objects to show you can interact with them or play a sound when things happen just for a bit of feedback.
Some idea of what the controls are would help too. I was spamming keys trying to figure out if I was using the wrong key or the item wasn't interactible. The performance wasn't terrible but my PC is pretty good and I noticed a few little graphical glitches (lighting related?).
Really nice original idea, makes me want to try something like this next time. There were a couple of shots that didn't quite line up but I was impressed with the quality of it overall! Well done and enjoy your cup of tea :)
Nice, I love painting and drinking beer. I painted the room but couldn't work out how to put the painting up, I ended up accidentally dropping it through the window onto the ground below! Pretty fun though and i'm actually amazed this only took 3 days.
Interesting little game, pretty fun to play around with. I ended up with just one massive yellow cube!
Hope you like my game! I look forward to the feedback. Sorry it's a bit rushed, forgot about LD so started a day late :)
Creepy little game, reminds me of The Stanley Parable. It's a bit of a strange one but I liked it, makes you think! Also really nice looking, despite being simple.
Pretty nice little game, it could maybe do with some more levels and sound effects. Also, the dlls are needed to play it. You could put them all in a .zip file and upload that :)
Nice game, I love the old-school graphical style and the puzzles are pretty good. One problem is that the Esc key didn't seem to work for me (playing embedded web version in chrome) and falling out of the world doesn't restart the level.
I had a little play around with the level editor and found it fairly straightforward, it's a shame the testing doesn't work yet. Also, it'd be nice if the cursor was at the centre of the block rather than the top-left.
It's a nice start! I like the graphics and the gameplay is pretty good (hard though).
A restart button would help so you don't need to close and run the game when you die. Also, it'd be nice if it stopped you going off screen. Perhaps some sound effects too?
Definitely carry on improving the game and I look forward to seeing your entry in the next jam!
Really nice looking game with some great animations and visual effects. I love the gameplay but wish there was more variety and there appears to be no game over state, once the enemies break through they just keep coming. Also, I couldn't work out what the $300 blue things did. Really enjoyed this one though :)
Really cool game mechanic, I love how fast paced it is. I get it's supposed to be dark but perhaps brighten it a little bit or change the colour of the enemies so they are a bit more visible. Otherwise, with some more enemy types and maybe some special abilities or something, I could see myself playing a lot of this game! :)
Amazing job, really fun to play and a nice steep learning curve. The double jump is a bit confusing though.
Haha this is a bit nuts! Fun to play, destroying buildings by tipping left and right. The graphics are pretty nice as well for a weekend's work. I found that once you hit the sides, you get stuck on them a bit and can't tip back.
Really nice pinball game! It's amazing you did this much in a weekend
Wow really nice game! It looks very pretty and is both fun and challenging with an interesting level. It took me a while to work out what the goal was but managed to win in the end. That last wave was really tough though! I did good.
Really fun game, reminds me of [Galcon](https://www.galcon.com/g2/) and of course risk. I like the idea of a short turn timer, it forces you to think and play quickly. It'd be nice if the number of units was represented on the actual country rather than by hovering over it - either a number or some other visual representation. I think it'd make it easier to know where most of your army is and help with planning ahead. Nice work! :)
I really like the artwork, especially the animations. The platforming and fighting mechanics feel really nice too.
As others have said, a keyboard attack would work well. Other than that I think just more enemies, abilities and level variety would improve the game. Perhaps some kind of upgrade system to unlock new moves or something. Nice work :)
Nice game, the 3rd level started getting a bit tricky but I can see myself coming back to it. I'm sure there is a ton of room for some ridiculous complexity. Reminds me quite a bit of spacechem in that respect. It did take a little while to work out what I needed to do though, I think a tutorial would help quite a bit.
Graphically it looks very nice but I feel like a top down perspective or at least an orthographic camera might work a bit better with the controls. Also, any nodes which aren't used in the level probably shouldn't be shown. I got confused when connecting from node 0 before realizing that I was supposed to use node 2. Otherwise, I really like the game and would love to see more :)
Really nice game, reminds me of Hacknet. It's a shame you didn't get to implement the bounties but I really enjoyed the tutorial and would definitely play the full game if/when it is released.
A small quality of life improvement would be using the up arrow to cycle through recent commands. Otherwise, the game is pretty much spot on! Well done :)
Nice models and environment. A pretty cool concept too, it was quite frantic trying to rush around to fulful all the orders.
As others have mentioned, the controls can behave a bit strangely, especially at slow speeds but they are ok once you get used to them. I think the orders stay on the screen after they have been completed though. It'd be nice if they disappeared once you have delivered the parts so you can see which orders you still need to do.
Good job for a weekend's work! :)
Great models and really fun gameplay even with a proper leaderboard! I might have to play this again later to try and improve my highscore :)
Really nice visuals and a great game feel. The sounds were good too, but I had to turn it down a bit after killing the first monster.
I'd like some kind of level map so I can see where I've been but otherwise I really like it!
WOW! This game is amazing. How on earth did you do all this in a weekend? When I first ran the game and heard the music, I thought "No way they did this music too". Then the game started a bit slow, despite the brilliant animations. Once the music picked up a bit and the Kaiju started doing slam dunks, it was so good! Reminds me a bit of Broforce, mostly down to the violence and the awesome kinda feeling you get from playing. Nothing bad to say about it at all, I was thinking perhaps a combo meter would be nice but I think it's good as is. By far my favourite game of the jam! Really well done! :D
Edit: After finally managing to get through the song, I find there's a second level! I'll be playing this more tomorrow :P
Very nice game, it's clear a lot of work went into this and I'm amazed you managed to get it working in a weekend! It's got all the essential components of a management game and the graphics and UI look realy good. The pathfinding and AI also works really well and again I'm suprised you got it working in such a short time.
The only improvements I can think of are new features like digging to expand the bunker, mining or something instead of scrap collecting. Other resources, perhaps enemies and different buildings too?
Nice work, I love the visuals. Lots going on all over the screen! I prefer the precision of mouse control for these kind of games so found it quite difficult. Also a health bar or something similar would be nice.
The enemies are really good, it feels like a proper bullet hell with a nice variety of different attacks. I found that I could move forward and right but not forward and left though?
Really nice jam game! I'm a pretty big fan of puzzle games and as with most good ones, this is simple in concept but difficult to master.
I think if you were to develop this more, perhaps start with some smaller levels and only a couple of buildings and build it from there. Different types of tiles that can only contain certain buildings might be interesting. Different level layouts would also change things up a bit.
Having said that, I imagine it would take quite some time to master the current level. I managed 64 on my second attempt, probably should have played on the forest tiles a bit more!
P.S. My internet is failing to upload a screenshot :(
It's a strange one! Love the sound effects and the ridiculousness of the idea. I'd like to see some animations for the moves. I didn't see the point of jumping because I just ended up on top of all the other seals and it made it harder to push them off. Also, the 3rd ability makes the seal glitch out a bit (intentional?).
I had fun. 10/10 would seal again.
Nice little puzzle game with quite a few levels, although I'd like to see some lava levels! I think the speed of the water is spot on and once you learn which keys correspond to which pipes it becomes a fun race against the clock.
The UI is detailed and functional but could do with some simplifying, perhaps use some icons instead of text. Also, the in-game restart button doesn't seem to work. Some potential mechanics could be branching pipes, tunnel pipes, faster pipes.
Really nice looking game with some fun mechanics. The particles and grass look amazing and overall the game has a very crisp and clean feel to it. It runs a bit slow in the browser but the Windows download works fine.
Thanks for all the great comments and suggestions! I agree that the shooting is a bit easy once you get the hang of it - aiming is definitely a possibility. If we decide to implement other obstacles or enemies (or any other great mechanics as suggested by @slowian), it might get a bit hectic trying to manage aiming too. But it's definitely worth playtesting.
Rushing around last minute, I forgot to implement a difficulty increase over time! We were planning on just increasing the speed as time went on. Perhaps change the spawn rate of different obstacles and stuff too.
@jupiter-hadley Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it :)
@kosmo The 3 jumps at the beginning thing is just luck of the draw I'm afraid. Might be able to implement some less random generation in the future.
The theme was mostly there from the beginning but the shooting was added on later as an extra mechanic. Not exactly sure what the ant is supposed to be shooting, just adds a bit of extra gameplay. We'll probably rework it if we carry on working on the game :)
Pretty fun game, I love the way the levels unfold and the interaction in the menu. The bird poops are a bit OP though, I think maybe they should get destroyed after hitting you once. If they get stuck on your head it's basically game over. The art, animation and music are all really good :)
Really unique mechanic executed very well. I enjoyed planning out moves ahead of time and it fits the theme very well. I think perhaps you should be able to attack or move rather than both at once, maybe have points or something that get used up when you attack or move. Very nice game :)
Really nice game, I love the simplistic art style. Especially the way glass breaks and things bounce in the air when you jump.
Also, the animations and cutscenes really give the game a polished feel to it. One of my favourites for sure :)
Fantastic models and textures. The animations were all top-notch and I really liked the cutscenes and world design. The music was also really nice. The combat could be extended a bit but overall a really nice story game and I'm amazed it was put together in a weekend!
Lovely music and art style, some good foundations to work on. A good sense of humour and relaxing atmosphere add to the fun :)
I'd like to be able to harvest crops and all that stuff but nice work for a weekend!
Really nice looking game with some decent sound effects and a cool theme. Some improvements to the tooltips and stuff would help but it is all functional so no bugs here! Maybe some different types of turret and ways of building more farms/mines could work well. The player would need to use the available space wisely rather than just spamming turrets.
I enjoy resource management games and tower defense games so it's the perfect genre really. Would love to play any potential future version.
Nice job getting so far in the time constraints. There's a lot of work involved when it comes to creating an RTS in two days!
The art style is nice and I'm impressed with the pathfinding. The camera controls are nice and smooth (although a zoom would help) and the UI looks very clean. I'd love to play a potential future version of the game.
Nice work with the models and environment. I also liked the sounds :P
The car was a little slow and the camera was perhaps a bit close but I found some batteries and a few traps. Well done, a really nice first jam!
Really fun idea and brilliantly executed. The sound is great and really gives the feeling of controlling a giant.
It's a bit short but I replayed it a few times for fun and to beat my score! As for tips I think maybe restrict the distance between feet a bit and make sure the feet are always on the correct side. Different types of people and perhaps buildings and vehicles could be fun additions.
Really nice artwork and animations, with some satisfying combat. The enemies did bug out a little bit sometimes (falling through the floor and hovering in the air).
The combos were a nice touch and the moves all felt different enough. I think perhaps health bars would have been a good idea so we can see which moves do the most damage, but then again it might make the screen a bit cluttered. Anyway, great job :)
Good job, I like the mechanic and the art work. The spring was a nice idea, I wouldn't have thought of that one. I'd like to see some more levels to really show off what you can do with the size mechanic.
It did bug out a couple of times and I had to restart, a restart button would have been helpful! The first time I pressed W while in the first small tunnel and fell through the floor. The second time I was small and went under the spring, then couldn't jump afterwards, even when I'd turned big again.
Overall a nice game and I'm amazed you built your own engine! Well done :)
It took a little while to figure things out but the game is relatively simple once you get the concept. I guess the real fine tuning comes in the placement of the rods in the matrix. After a couple of attempts, my best score was 51 MWh.
I did blow it up once which was pretty fun! The graphics are also really good, all the models and textures look great. I always like the addition of high scores in jam games so well done for including that. I think some idea about how the fuel rod placement affects the reactor would be nice, but I guess that could be left for the player to figure out. Maybe an extra controllable slider or two would help for later levels.
Really enjoyed it, nice job!
Edit: It also took me a couple of tries to get the game to work properly. It got stuck on a screen with the default unity skybox. Might have been my antivirus deleting things but something to watch for.
The graphics are nice and simple, the gameplay isn't the most exciting but it's quite fun playing around with the string for a while. I spammed P quite a bit and am not sure when it will eventually run out of power, perhaps a power bar or something would be useful to see how long I have left?
Overall, a nice little time waster :P
Really unique art style and direction. It looked great running up the path and seeing all the enemies at the top. Nice choice of music too :)
The combat was a bit simple though, I feel that there should have been some other enemies with more health and perhaps a bit more feedback when they get hit like some blood spatter and sound effects.
Great looking game with some nice music too. It turns out Mars is pretty rad! The photo analysis was pretty cool at the end, although it did give me way too many points for a terrible selfie :)
I would have liked to be able to zoom the camera and maybe apply some filters or something.
Really nice job!
I love this game! It's a nice unique take on the classic shoot-em-up with some great graphics and sound effects.
I agreee that the controls feel a bit floaty but I think they add to the difficulty without feeling unfair or anything. My only real gripe is that some of the enemies seemed impossible to avoid if they spawn right in front of you as you get a boost. Could be my poor reaction time but I think a very short period of invincibility (maybe only to newly spawned enemies?) might be worth looking at.
Well done, one of my favourites so far :)
@werlar Sorry about that, in a rush to upload the game I didn't do much optimisation and it looks like I may be using too much memory somewhere. If you are using a 32bit operating system or browser that could cause some issues - For now I would simply recommend using the windows version.
Great art style and overall game design. It was a nice fun chilled out experience at about the right length for a good jam game. Once you get the hang of the mechanics it's pretty enjoyable. Oh and the music is amazing too! Nice job :)
All I can think to add is new enemies and different things that are affected by bubbles. Maybe a gravity field where the bubbles go down or something? Some little animations for the player would be good too, the legs moving a bit as you go forward and stuff like that.
Quite a nice little game, I like the torch mechanic. It'd be nice if you could use the number keys to quick switch weapons rather than keep right clicking to get back to the torch. I guess it could use few quality improvments like blood spatter or something when shooting enemies. Otherwise, good job :)
I also had the moving really fast bug but I downloaded the more recent version and it seems to be fixed. Now I agree that the movement is a little bit slow, especially the animation for grabbing onto ledges, mostly since if there's a saw blade there it's hard to jump up without getting hit.
I'm really impressed with the graphics and quality of the animations. I like the premise of robots vs humans and the lockpicking mechanic was nice too once I'd figured it out. All in all, a really pretty game with some good mechanics but a little buggy and could do with some polish.
Nice little game with an interesting take on the theme and multiple well designed levels! The music is good and the game looks pretty nice.
As Adrien said, I would use a different colour for things that hurt you so that they stand out a bit more. Something to look into in the future might be procedural generation as I think it fits this type of game very well.
Overall, nice job!
Nice graphics and a pretty cool idea, I couldn't work out how to recharge the shield. It might be worth putting in a tutorial or at least a page that shows the controls (or put them here?). Perhaps some enemy health bars too?
I like the enemy variety but they could do with a red outline or something just to highlight where they are. Maybe some alerts or something when they are attacking your shield. The gun effect is really nice too :)
Amazing job! I loved pretty much everything about it. The level design especially was spot on, it's really nice how you managed to do so much with the mechanic. It's really hard to design levels that change dynamically like that.
The music was great as well and i'm glad you put in a couple of different tracks which appear to switch if you die a few times? The graphics are really nice too and have a lovely charm to them, especially putting his head in the plug at the end :)
Pretty good little platformer. The art is basic but quite a nice style to it. The gameplay is simple but with enough different enemies to keep it interesting. The jumping is a bit floaty but it's set on a space station so I guess there is low gravity? The machine gun turrets were also pretty hard to avoid!
Nice game, I managed 146 seconds. The art is sinple but had a nice charm to it, I especially loved the details floating past in the background.
The idea is nice and pretty well executed. It's a bit annoying running back and forth to try and find a battery. Perhaps an indicator at the edge of the screen to tell you where it was would be useful. You could maybe lay out the level a bit more complicated or put in some traps or something to make it harder. At the moment it seems like after a point, its impossible to get enough power to keep going as they don't spawn enough.
Great first LD game though, keep it up :)
Really nice game, once you get the hang of it, it's very addictive. I especially love the music and sound effects, they fit the aesthetic and gameplay very well.
Not a lot to add really, a leaderboard would have been nice and perhaps if the bullets were a different colour, they would stand out a bit better. Otherwise, a solid entry!
Brilliant jam game. You've taken a really simple gameplay mechanic and added a lovely cheerful art style and sound effects along with a ton of feedback and "game feel". It feels really polished and would be great as a little mobile game pretty much as is!
I guess the next step would be to expand on the mechanics a bit, parhaps have multiple zones that you can grow to or make them move or something. Perhaps have bits where you have to tap to destroy obstacles or something. Maybe an infinite runner style game done as you grow the planet. Hang on, I may have to steal this idea :P
In short, great entry - loads of fun and really polished! Nice job :)
The story, graphics and everything was great and the rhythm mechanics were a nice twist.
I agree with the others, some visual feedback on whether you pressed the key in time would be nice. I found the song fairly hard too (as a bit of a noob) so an easier level or just a slower start would have helped quite a bit.
It's a solid entry and I could easily see this becoming something more :)
Really nice looking game, some great models, lighting and sounds. The abilities were nice but I didn't seem to get much blood from killing villagers after a while so it's pretty difficult!
I think more of the non-aggressive villagers would make the game more fun and perhaps some upgrades. The achievements were a nice touch though!
Good job :)
I think with a bit of work this could be a pretty good mobile game. As it stands it is fully working and looks and sounds nice but there's a couple of things I'm not too sure on.
There doesn't seem to be any reason to place a power plant on a specific tile. Perhaps in a future version, there could be a penalty for putting pollution near houses and water or something like that. Some of the UI could be better too, the main things are money and pollution so making those larger on the screen would be nice.
The balance is actually pretty good though. I found myself placing more wind turbines early on, then after a couple of power failures I was forced to place some regular plants. I couldn't see much point in the solar panels over the wind turbines, they are only a little bit cheaper but a lot worse.
Nice first ludum dare game :) Make sure to rate other people to get more ratings yourself
Really nice graphics, sound effects and music. The gameplay is innovative and works well too. With a bit of polish it's the kind of game I would happily play for hours.
I did encounter a bug where the wire switches to the other side of the peg sometimes when plugging in so I couldn't do the third level. Also, I feel that if the plug simply followed the mouse it would feel a bit more intuitive rather than using the keyboard controls which are a little clunky. Overall I really enjoyed it, nice job! :)
Really fun resource management game. I played it a few times to try and beat my score, it's quite hard to start until you get the hang of it. It's difficult to find that balance which I think you've done really well!
Little things like different animations for each task and sound effects when clicking on different things would be nice but no major complaints here. Good job!
Nice work, I can relate :D
In the WebGL version it was a bit difficult to click on the letter I wanted. Otherwise, I thought the game looked great and played great! I loved the sense of urgency and trying to balance interest rates with paying bills was pretty hectic!
Really nice work, the swing of the sword and the attacking effects make the weapon feel really weighty and satisfying. The platforming and level design is very solid too!
It's unforgiving, which is great but some checkpoints might be worth doing, if just for the jam when people tend to only spend a few minutes on each game. Otherwise, I really liked it. My favourite game so far!
It is a nice idea that was compelling to play for a few levels. I felt the balance was good and I definitely had a hard time trying to choose bottles or speed.
I think perhaps an arrow to show the direction Mike is in would be nice since it can be hard to find him when loaded with bottles! Otherwise, perhaps some upgrades and/or powerups would be cool.
Nice job! I enjoyed it :)
Really nice artwork and animations, the sound is great too! I like the idea and it plays really well, the only things to add are just a bit of polish and stuff, maybe make the enemy death particles spread a bit like an explosion, plus a bit of screen-shake or something, and have a way of joining the islands together graphically - bridges maybe?
Good concept and fairly enjoyable. I found it pretty difficult to keep the floor clear for the third bit. Perhaps the first level shouldn't have so many boxes? Otherwise I like the feel of the game, perhaps a no-rush mode with no time limit would be interesting as a more chilled out experience.
