Sweet story, lovely graphics.

Sweet story, lovely graphics.
There are little things in the execution that could have been improved the impression (not actually bugs, but things like the fact that it depends on where you dig how wide the tunnel gets), but interesting idea.
Nice music when you found the cartridge :D
Great game. No pun intended.
Love the music.
Nice one!
After I found the issues with the first patient it took me a while to figure out what to do next. But otherwise it's an awesome game!
Awesome game! I got a score of 4, do I get a cookie?
Great Idea.
Awesome!
Amazing game and really nice music!
Nice game. Only problem is I suck at stealth games :D
Nice artwork! But I don't see how I'm supposed to escape, I mean I can't fly...
Excellent work! I really like this one.
But I don't really get the ending. Could you explain the meaning of it?
Nice game, liked it! Nice music too.
The game crashes at startup...
http://pastebin.com/g4AtLwve
Really cool idea. Would be cool if there are going to be more levels.
Quite fun to play. And frustrating, I always crash in other trains ;(
That's kind of hard...
Great voice acting and interesting gameplay!
I just wasn't able to get past the timer ;(
Once I lost this thing I never managed to get it back, is there even a way if it's outside of the screen?
Anyways, love the idea of the game. (Although I might not really gotten what I was supposed to do and what this connected world (the red one) did...)
Is there even a way to lose?
Chrome claims your .exe download is malware. How fitting ;)
Sound issues:
The new city sound should work correctly, but as a new city might lie on an already built track the city isn't red and you might not have noticed the new city.
The sound for the earthquakes is a bit stupid because an earthquake might not destroy anything at all, but it fires the sound anyways (stupid, I know)
Fast forward: if you want to jump over a level, try LeftShift + F9
There are a lot dead ends, I think too many.
Yeahhh!!! Shhhh :D
I'll let you know I installed Firefox just to "play" your game... Why this requirement?
A few things I noticed:
- it would be good if the player can see, what his hacking does (e.g. you couldn't always see the platforms you toggled)
- That you had to click outside the textbox to submit your command was a bit annoying.
- At the last Computer I had trouble to distinguish l from 1, so I misspelled the user name for a long time
Other than that, I think it's a nice game with a good idea.
Did anyone actually manage to win this game?
Very interesting idea!
When I first started the game I couldn't read the tutorial as I was searching for good music ;)
But awesome Idea.
Oh my god he died! Call 911! :p
Don't know why, but I didn't get past the first level with the trigger bomb :/
I like how it says "New Unity Project 2" in the title :p
Loved it!
Really nice graphics.
I happened to have made the same game (without such fancy graphics ;D) some time ago, so I could use my solver for the later levels. They were quite difficult without.
Great game. Sometimes it was a bit annoying that while entering a sequence you hit another sequence and your current sequence was lost.
No HL3 for me :/
Enjoyed your game!
@Bobsleigh: you can climb onto the buildings to jump across the pit.
Really loved it.
The game is really hard.
Really cool game.
Awesome! I really liked the personalities of the different persons.
Those red things seem a bit random.
The reproduction thing happens way too often, you don't really have to do anything yourself.
The text displays way too short, I had no chance to read all of it. Otherwise interesting idea, and cool interaction with the environment.
Really nice art & sound. But somehow if you run out of lives you can still continue the game...
From a mechanics perspective, this and Splitter Critters are probably the best of this LD.
This was really entertaining, but whaaaaaa?
Amazing. 10/10 would play again.
The game looks pretty cool and it has a nice style to it.
The soundtrack complements the look quite well, although it gets a little repetitive with time.
In principle, the game seems very similar to flappy bird: A game about not crashing into walls, which is very challenging to boot. I think that it works quite well and is very intuitive.
Your game is rightfully labeled very difficult. I don't think that's a bad thing at all, because an easy game of this principle would be extremely boring. Now that every wall is a real challenge, it feels quite exciting. However, I would have made the game start out slightly easier, maybe with bigger holes and larger distances and then getting harder until it reaches the current level of difficulty at around 100 points. This would ease the player into the game but still make it very challenging in the end.
The graphics were pretty good for this kind of game. If you made them more detailed, they might be distracting and interfere with the simple principle of using the correct shape in the correct location.
Fist, let's start off with the obvious: The graphics and music in this game are fantastic. It looks very polished and the art style seems very consistent. It definitely looks like it could be a full fledged mobile game. The design chosen also fits the gameplay well.
The gameplay itself was quite fun albeit very simple. But the concept definitely has potential to be expanded. I was not entirely happy with the controls, since it was quite hard to pick up red blood cells if they weren't very close to your path and as a result it was quite hard to get your health back up. I guess what I'm getting at is that things felt a little bit too much out of the player's control.
The theme was not explored that deeply in this one, which is fine. But I can certainly imagine that the virus could be given more forms to maybe beat different kinds of challenges.
Nonetheless, the game is good and looks very polished. Good job.
Amazing Game. Really cool new concept.
Very cool artstyle and simple yet fun gameplay.
It's hard to remember so many letters sometimes. Otherwise interesting idea for a game and nice implementation of it.
Very polished game, although the keyboard controls were a little annoying. The soundtrack and graphics were especially awesome. I did not really understand how to win the game, though. I just kept jumping through holes until I arrived back at the start. Is that supposed to happen?
If you like to count squares, this game is for you ;)
Nice game and definitely something different form the usual ones. I do have to admit that I got frustrated with it during the level where I was a good sport about forced labor (loved the humor btw).
The graphics were good, the sound on the other hand got pretty stale pretty quick. Anyway, nice little game. The exact mechanics could use some tweaking (sometimes you lose speed while transforming etc) and maybe the level progression could be a little bit easier, but you've done a very good job. You were quite innovative with both shapeshifting and controls.
Cool game, I especially loved the music in the main menu and the fact that it was getting darker the longer time went on. That made for a good atmosphere. The gameplay was also interesting and actually quite difficult.
Love the humor. Amazing game!
The absolute best graphics of LD35 because the art style is just so unique and creative.
Outstanding game. The level design was very clever. Going through the same levels twice with different types of mechanics takes some seriously smart level design and it was very enjoyable. The ending after the first run was also really cool. Not to mention the music, which set the tone perfectly.
Very interesting and challenging. This is one of those games that take a long time to figure out the exact combination but that are very satisfying to try things out. Finally connecting everything and making progress felt so good.
The audio is really bad here, but it's obvious that that is not the thing you were going for the most
Overall, the game was very fun and the mechanics are definitely very interesting. Good job.
The movement was quite frustrating, because as far as I could tell, you couldn't walk diagonally and it generally felt choppy. The idea with getting fatter was actually pretty clever, so the gameplay has potential.
In any case, this games seems really good for 12 hours.
Love the drifting, but after the time ran out I always was still in the first half of the level...
I'm now scared of spiders forever...
Is there any way to reset the game? If I open it again it starts where I left.
Good effort: The graphics were actually pretty good. The controls were a little weird, but the concept was certainly interesting. If you had more time, a cool game could have been developed here. Good job and good luck next time.
Interesting game. I found the camera a bit hard to control, I would have preferred the Y-axis flipped.
That was amazing. I am very happy to see story games like this created in such a short time. The atmosphere was absolutely phenomenal, the music and sounds in the background contributing greatly to it due to their unchanging nature (very efficient). The graphics totally worked for this theme.
I loved reading the notes, it was really a nice touch to build the world.
The most obvious strengths of this entry are the amazing graphics and the atmospheric audio. I think this has been done very well and definitely improved the overall look and feel of this game.
The gameplay itself was a little confusing. At first I was really not sure what to do or where to go. But I guess that's part of the atmosphere: You find yourself in an unknown realm and need to discover a way out.
Still, the gameplay didn't have a lot of depth, but at least the game has replayability thanks to the different endings. The shapeshifting was ok, although it could have maybe been explored further. It's clear that most work went into the graphics and audio, but that's fine. It's refreshing compared to most other LD games.
A few things were a little annoying (and also seemed unnecessary), for instance the levels are too big. You have to walk around for ages before you really get anywhere. Granted, a sense of being lost needs to be there for the atmosphere, but the corridors didn't need to be so long and maybe the rooms could have been a little smaller as well. If the game didn't take so long, the motivation to discover all the endings would also be bigger.
All in all, I have to say that this is an impressive entry. It definitely has one of the best graphics and atmospheres I've ever seen in an LD game.
The controls make it really hard to play the game, q,s,d,z are like all over my keyboard...
Good entry, the perspective was a little weird, though. The art style was cool, but the gameplay is lacking diversity. But that's understandable for a 72 hour game. Good job.
Interesting game. The concept could be quite cool, but it felt a little weird, especially due to the two characters you had to control at once. It seemed like the four forms didn't really have that much difference between them.
I can honestly say that I haven't won the game, but that's because of a bug that made the elemental spawn outside the actual game. It happened on the second level, so I restarted, then it happened on the third level and I didn't want to redo it.
Of course it's hard to really make a proper game during such a short time window, but the game would be a lot more interesting if there were things to pick up (like potions or coins) or something during the walks.
The graphics of the game were quite nice. Of course they're not very detailed, but they do fit the style of the game very well. The music was really really good.
In the end, I think this entry has a nice idea and a pretty good execution. Despite it's little flaws, I have to say good job.
Was a bit repetitive: go to [farmer / smith / whatever], help, sleep, repeat, ...
But the graphics are awesome.
Really nice entry. I was a little confused at first but then got the hang of the mechanics. This definitely has potential to grow into something bigger.
Interesting game. Could be a little frustrating, especially during the last level, but the concept is solid.
This was a very challenging and very well designed game. I really like the take on shape shifting
Controls were really wonky. Otherwise interesting idea and cool graphics.
This game is gorgeous. The effects and graphics are really incredibly nice.
The sound is totally fitting, although the soundtrack might get a little boring after a long time.
You had an interesting approach to the shapeshifting. Making it to be out of the player's control was something I haven't seen much. However, this also meant that the forms themselves were not really that important. They were mainly just a fun factor.
The enemies seemed a little slow and easy, but I guess the point of the game is not to be hard, but just to entertain.
Very good job, anyway. It's certainly one of the most impressive looking games and it's quite atmospheric with the rain and the thunder.
I cannot praise this entry enough.
The graphics were neat (although they are probably one of the points that could use an upgrade the most: The background looks better than the foreground in my opinion).
The gameplay mechanics were absolutely fantastic. Every puzzle was intuitive, yet some were quite challenging. Every mechanic felt meaningful and most importantly: You made them all fun and satisfying. It was awesome to fly around as the balloon at the ed of the game. The fact that you got small and had to "reinflate" contributed to that satisfying feeling.
The game totally kept me hooked for a good three quarters of an hour and I just had to get all 55 hearts.
The level design was amazing, the way you teased initially inaccessible areas and finally let us get to them with new abilities was fantastic. It compressed a lot of gameplay into a relatively tight area.
My favorite part of the game was definitely the soundtrack. It fit the style of the game absolutely perfectly and was very catchy, never getting boring or dull. This is truly a great contributor to the fun and overall enjoyment I have had with this game.
All in all, I have to say that this entry is my favorite entry this LD. It might not have as much of a revolutionary game mechanic as Splitter Critters (also an amazing game), but the sheer amount of content and fun this game gave me is amazing.
A neat little game. The interpretation of the theme really was quite cool, although in this case, this means there is not a lot of variation to the gameplay.
The graphics really fit the game's context with nuclear fusion. They certainly make it very clear to the user, but I wouldn't go as far as to say that they were an outstanding feature of the game.
The music, on the other hand, was excellent. It somehow really fit in with your style and it gave the whole thing quite an epic vibe.
So despite the gameplay being quite simplistic, I have to say: very good job overall.
Nice game idea, will have to come back to this game later to play with a friend!
The concept is quite interesting, although there really is not much content yet. This might still be worth working on, though.
Why no rating in graphics? Looks nice.
Cool entry. It's maybe a little annoying that you have to double tap the space bar sometimes. Otherwise, the gameplay is fun and the levels are actually kind of challenging and take a few tries. Graphics are appropriate for style, the soundtrack is really cool.
Funny idea for a simple little game. It's quite satisfying to slash through all the zombies, but it doesn't really have much long term motivation. But that's understandable for a ludum dare game, so I'd say it was still a very good effort. The graphics fit well and the music was also pretty cool.
Very nice music and audio!
As others already pointed out:
- Space is not that precise. Mouse click would be easier
- If you miss the start by one little bit you get way too much penalty
- Waiting until 66 is kinda too long. The end is funny but it just takes forever
- It kinda sucks that once you can't deny a claim you have to start from the beginning. You could for example just remove money from the bank and only make it game over once this hits zero
Otherwise cool game.
Why would anyone buy a guillotine?
I really liked the game but I didn't really get why I should give the people the stuff they ask for. I didn't see any change once I gave them a coke for example. Also the water thingy and the jukebox kill the productivity as the people just always are walking to those things. Intentional?
Fantastic entry. The graphic style was absolutely gorgeous. The music fit quite well.
The concept was very promising and I guess could have been explored even more. But the lack of more complicated puzzles is of course understandable given the time limit.
Looks very beautiful.
Very cool game. Would have been more fun if you didn't have to start all over every time you die. The combat also got a little repetitive, but the graphics were absolutely gorgeous and the atmosphere was extremely well executed. The hp display on the obelisk was smart.
A really nice entry. The graphics are a bit crude, but the sound really makes for a good atmosphere. The game is mostly intuitive and fun. Though it took me quite a while to figure out that these things dropped by enemies were upgrades. I also didn't manage to find any of the green goo at all, which prevented me from actually completing the game.
But the gameplay was a lot of fun. I don't see many strategy games in LD.
Awesome. Sometimes it looked like the guy kicked down a vase on purpose...
I was fired every time, no idea who I should let in and who should stay out. But cool idea.
Why do so many guests want a large room?
It seemed like there wasn't any way to loose the game so I didn't find that engaging. Otherwise solid game.
Bomb Evasion Simulator 2016. Looking forward to the sequel
It was a little easy and it was not immediately clear how everything worked. I think the autopsy report should be on button 1, because it's the most important thing. Before I read it, I had no idea what to even make of the peoples' answers.
But regardless, the game is very cool and the interrogation room was a nice interpretation of the "one room" theme.
A really fun little game. But I think the day-night cycle is a little bit too quick.
The controls seem to work against you and it's very hard to do anything on purpose. I gave up after a few minutes, but the rest looked promising.
Unfortunately the game crashed a lot. Also it is really difficult, I was only able to stay for one night...
It was quite difficult to find the keywords that trigger a new sequence (thanks for the solutions). Also it would be nice to be able to skip a sequence should you trigger the same one twice.
The game sets a really nice mood and it's interesting to talk with her.
Very cool idea. It gets difficult very fast.
Interesting game, but the consequences of actions aren't clear enough for the game to be strategic.
Amazing game, really innovative.
It's pretty chaotic...
Hi ;)
Very cool games although some are quite difficult to master. Nice simple graphics and cool background music.
Nice game. The audio really fits the game and the concept is really cool. Very well implemented.
Interesting idea but there were a few annoying bugs (or I couldn't figure out how to play the game correctly?):
- I wasn't able to pick up the child (so I wasn't able to win the game) - Sometimes when I tried to choose an action the turn would suddenly be over - Sometimes I wasn't able to choose an action and had to pan around - No way to end a walk action if you didn't use all movement points (only with 'end turn' but then the second action gets missing)
The music while nice at the start gets kinda annoying after the xth repetition.
I think I saw the whole map but I did not find any way to thaw the dude.
Only noticed on the third day that time moves faster if you press the button. The previous days were quite boring to sit through... Also at first I didn't figure out how to progress between days (I still don't get why I have to go in the locker).
What exactly is the meaning of the end? I don't really get it :/
Quite a hard game but interesting mechanics.
I reminds me a lot of [this game](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wooldrake.jumpychicken) though.
Awesome music and art!
I could only play the single player mode. It was a bit too hectic for me to always have to switch between the witches but I'm sure there are many people who like to be stressed ;)
Well executed game. Simple but still interesting to play. The levels are well done (except maybe the one with the diagonal "bouncy thing". No matter how I hit this thing the world went into the spikes on the top. I had to smash it against the wall to get it out, but then sometimes the world would fly ("tunnel") through the wall on the right) and fun to solve.
Awesome game! The puzzles got quite hard quite fast and you had to plan out your moves very well.
The dwarf was really well done with his little "hop" when he jumps and the throw of the pickax when he climbs.
What I didn't like was that a small error might prevent you from finishing the level. So a "back" button would have been nice.
Not really much to do, get's kinda boring quite fast.
Also it's kinda unfair if you are on the other side of the planet when an alien ship arrives; you don't even have time to walk around the planet before it abducts someone.
@bentglasstube We noticed that we probably should add the information you mentioned with the combined resource usage. Unfortunately we didn't have any time to implement this and that part of the game wasn't implemented that well so it would have taken quite some time. But should we further develop this game we would certainly include it.
Btw. you can disable the voice overs with `m`.
I love the art style! I think the game is quite fun to play. It would be nice if you didn't have to activate a certain building over and over again but instead could just activate / deactivate it.
At first it kinda reminded me of Reus.
As you don't have any audio you should probably opt out of this category.
Awesome game. Reminds me of This War of Mine.
It's really difficult to get enough of all resources which helps the mood of a post war game. It's interesting that you can keep playing even if all your players die by just waiting for another one to show up. Is this intentional?
On like day 60 a green alien like dude came in, really cute ;)
Somehow the audio didn't work for me (Chrome on Win10).
Really cute game. Was nice to see the tiny people explore the world. Do they find newly created land or do they keep the information that there is water if they already saw it?
The "happy space music" is indeed quite nice.
There seems to be a problem with the camera if you want to rotate over the north / south pole.
Interesting puzzles. I don't really like solving puzzles under time pressure though, so I didn't like it that much personally. But the implementation was solid and the idea was interesting.
Nice game.
After some power ups you are kinda overpowered and you can just shoot around in the general direction of an enemy and have a good chance to kill it. Also the towers don't change the game play much (especially because your bullets don't collide with them) and you just shoot at any enemy no matter what.
The game was well done and I didn't run into any issues. I liked the mechanic with the vanishing parts and the power ups.
Cool, relaxing game. It's nice to see the planet grow from a little space rock to earth.
I really liked the game and it was very interesting to play.
A few points where the game could be improved:
- While the CRT effect is of course very nice one should have the option to disable it as it might be distracting while starring at the code... - The manual contains some errors: Page 12 `(%bx)` instead of `[%bx]` and page 18 `menu =` instead of `menu -`. - The manual is humorous but it's a bit annoying that you have to read the whole thing before you can play the game. - A cheat sheet in the manual (or the game) would be helpful so I don't have to scroll around the manual all the time. - If you press ESC it deletes all the code which is not a nice thing to do. - The code should be kept between levels. - Why the difference between a wall and a rock? - The fact that the scanner also picks up the portal is kinda annoying as you have to handle this case separately and you can't just check whether the returned distance is 1 and then turn. - The assembly syntax is kinda weird: for the order of operands and the memory access (i.e. [%ax + $1] you chose Intel syntax but all the prefixes (i.e. % and $) are from GAS (or AT&T, however you want to call it). This is really confusing. Or was it like this for the original 8086? - Why would there be instructions to turn around the rover in a multipurpose micro controller? Also why would there be constants for the wall type and such? This is really specific for this use case. If you want to do it realistically you should have used memory mapped I/O and just specified all the constants in the manual. This way you also wouldn't need to declare an array just to do a scan and could just read it from the memory (e.g. `sca [$array]; cmp $T_WALL,[$array+1]` is just something like `cmp $7,[$42]` where `$7` is the constant for a wall and at position 42 the scanned type is mapped. - If you write `jmp` without a label this happily compiles but gives a runtime error. This could easily be checked during compilation.
I don't really remember which level it was, but it was close to the start (so probably 2nd or 3rd level). I think I just switched from the command window to the editor with ALT and then wanted to go back to the editor (so I probably didn't write anything in the editor). Out of "habit" from other programs I pressed ESC instead of ALT and all the code vanished and was replaced by one line of `---`.
I'm on Win10. Good luck with finding the bug ;)
While there is not much to do it still is really fun to play. The giant is kinda cute when he clumsily "walks" around and shatters all the windows. Just to imagine such a giant square rolling through the city...
I would love to see more chapters in the future.
Very cool game, the puzzles were very interesting. I really liked the help that appeared when you selected an animal; without this it would be almost impossible to remember all the requirements. One of my favorite mechanics so far.
Sometimes I "accidentally" solved a level while I was moving an animal to some point and happened to pass a "solving state" (which I didn't notice). This didn't feel that satisfactory but I don't know how to prevent this.
Interesting idea. It's hard to predict only with the music which hammer will come next so you just look for the vibrating hammers. But this kind of decouples the music from the game play and becomes almost irrelevant. For some of the songs you hardly ever have to move and you are mainly waiting for the current hammer to vibrate and then go to the next spot.
It's cool that you included "For River", I really like this piece.
Cool game, played it til the end! It's really interesting to find the next move such that the rabbits can't attack you.
Does the opponent have some fancy "intelligence" or is it just "go as close to the player as possible"?
The art looks nice (as already mentioned it looks very similar to Kurzgesagt). Do you generate the art for the current race?
Is there a way to reset the game? I killed all the military but then even in a 'new' world (with the dice button) it always said that there is no military anymore.
The idea is very cool but the buggy collision makes it kinda hard to control (but the rotating square is cool). Maybe use an existing physics engine next time?
Awesome! The voice overs were really funny and the game was quite extensive for such a short development time. The story is also very interesting. I had much fun, thanks ;)
Little bug (Web, Chrome on Win10): Sometimes the audio stopped too early or didn't even start (which led to the text disappearing way too fast).
The idea is nice with the falling platforms. The way it is now it is very difficult to get to the surface; I didn't manage to jump on more than two whales. Either there were too few whales such that I couldn't reach the next one or there were too many such that I didn't get past them.
The sounds were kinda annoying, sorry.
Interesting idea. The game got kinda hard after the first few levels but more like annoying hard instead of enjoyable hard. One reason for this is that it felt kinda unfair when I crashed (e.g. because if you turn the back of the ship swerves out and easily crashes) and that the difficulty partly lies with the input.
I really love this game! Very nice art and music and quite challenging game play. Especially the gravity makes it very interesting.
It took me some time at the start until I figured out that you can adjust the angle by the x position on the pad.
Interesting game, but there wasn't much to do and you lost really fast.
Really cool idea. As others already pointed out it would be fun to be able to explore something to the left/right.
I noticed you used libGDX as well. I didn't see any other games made in libGDX so far and would really like to see how others use it. I just "discovered" the amazing scene2d this jam, maybe there are some other hidden gems I did not yet find. Would you have the source code for your game available somewhere?
Thanks, but "This repository is empty." :wink:
Very fun game and great idea.
It was a bit annoying though that the robots stopped that quickly once you let go of the key. This always caused the cargo to fall over (maybe that's better with a game pad, didn't have one).
Is there even a chance of completing the level once cargo falls down without restarting?
But the game is really awesome!
Amazing game! Unfortunately I was really bad and didn't even clear the first stage. But it was fun nonetheless. Really nice graphics and sound.
Cool game, looks and sound very nice.
I found the controls to be bit clunky and I got stuck in trees quite often or overshot the target and had to use way too much power to save myself from the fall. I didn't manage to finish too many levels on easy, how hard are the other ones...?
In my opinion it's a bit boring as you mainly have to walk everywhere in the map until you found the generator. And there isn't any better way to find it than to random walk until found. The power is mainly annoying as you have to start over, but as the map never changes you just continue were you left off.
There is a bug you might want to fix: the old aliens don't get deleted once you start a new game, so in the first game there was one alien in the room above from where you start, after restarting there were two and so on, with each iteration one more. So I had to restart the game every time I died.
Amazing game! The soundtrack really helps set the mood. I liked the fast paced game play, it felt great. It was a bit confusing that the blood points were the same color as the bullets of the enemies, so it was difficult to distinguish them. Also, I don't see why anyone would use melee weapons when you have a crossbow that has no limit on ammo and you can just keep firing all the time...
I really like this game! It might not look that pretty, but it plays great. It's fun to chase other spheres. At the end it gets really hard to not get eaten by a bigger sphere when you are dashing in direction of the green arrow.
Great game! I really enjoyed the puzzles. But I wonder what I should have found...
In the JS version on Chrome you can't double click (probably due to the frame rate issue).
Great game! I like how audio is really important and not just an afterthought. The game looks and sounds really nice.
Very impressive game. Played it for quite some time and I really enjoyed it. The second level is quite difficult to solve.
I'm not sure but are new resources added over time? Because I had thought out a way to craft something and only needed more money. When I had enough money I couldn't build it anymore because there was now copper blocking the path. Maybe I just miss remembered my plan?
Awesome! The newspaper is very humorous. No matter what, the population doesn't like it... One of my favorite games so far!
While the puzzle seemed interesting the platformer part was way too hard. It was especially annoying to have to start again at the start and wait until he said his sentence. After you solved the first puzzle for the hundredth time it's not interesting anymore. A checkpoint system would have improved the game a lot.
But I liked the graphics and the music.
I found it very annoying that the ship took so long to move once you pressed a button. Also there was no point in shooting other ships. As they were always shooting there was no way for you to shoot another ship without getting hit. Otherwise nice game.
Don't do this! This sounds when the plant explodes are fucking annoying, too loud and destroy your ears.
I find the idea interesting but it is kinda boring if you can only control one slider. I'm not even sure how exactly this slider works: are the control rods down (i.e. they slow down the reaction) when the slider is up? While the weather is nice to look at, does it have any game play mechanic other than refill the water? Also I didn't really figure out, how the matrix setup influences the simulation. If I put in too much uranium, everything goes boom, but does the positions influence anything? But I found the graphics quite nice.
Unfortunately I was never able to win the game. I had the feeling that the RNG is broken: I had a chance of 30% of success for recruiting neutral citizens, but I had to choose this like 10 times until I succeeded. I had the impression that the enemy side won way more often than I did, which made the game feel unfair. Maybe I had just bad luck.
I find the idea of the game very interesting and it's refreshing to see a game that is not about electric power but political power.
Cute game. The art is very nice and the voice recordings are cute. Sometimes the audio seemed to be played at the wrong time though. I especially liked how with every choice something more in the image was added.
I found it quite hard to survive as you had to check so many things. As soon as I didn't freeze within the first few seconds I starved to death... But I guess it would be boring if if it were easier. Nice game.
Nice graphics.
There are a few things that could be improved: - The camera feels weird, but I'm not sure why. Maybe it should be a bit higher up. - It's sometime hard to see, where you're going because of the camera. If the robot is so close to the camera you can't really align stuff. - You start out really slow. It's an endless *runner*, not endless *walker* :wink: - The left/right movement is really slow and feels kinda weird.
But otherwise well implemented.
Thanks for the feedback so far. I know it's a bit too complicated, but there is now a [tutorial](https://ludumdare.games.smeanox.com/LD39/tutorial/). I should probably make simpler games for ludum dare in the future ;)
@jimbly Strange. It should state the reason why it does not work in the lower right corner.
@hilvon Roads are useless, I planned to do something with them but didn't have time for it. Cities increase the number of dudes you can have on a planet by 100. Solar panels only work on other planets; earth is too polluted for them.
@jimbly Thank you very much for reporting this, it was indeed a bug. Somehow you were not able to select any planets in the web build, but in the desktop version it worked just fine. It's now fixed (although I still don't know what exactly was wrong... :shrug:)
@maffydub The "staying disabled" thing is intended (not sure if it was a good decision). You can manually activate it again by double clicking the power plant.
Thanks for reporting the remove bug. I was able to reproduce it and will fix it when I have time. If a building is disabled, it can't be removed. If it's active, then it works.
Note to self: bug is [here](https://github.com/SmBe19/LD39/blob/master/core/src/com/smeanox/games/world/Building.java#L95).
Cool idea and well implemented. A bit more levels would be cool but I guess there is only so much time in the compo.
I was only able to play alone and then the gameplay is a bit frustrating. But I think with two players it would be quite fun. It is really hard to figure out, what exactly you are supposed to do, even with the instructions. The controls were ok, but it was a bit annoying that you couldn't turn when you were at a wall and then had to move a bit away to face the building table. The game looks really nice.
Cool idea and well implemented. The game looks and sounds very nice. Only thing is it got a bit boring after the x-th thing you found and brought back.
Quite challenging but interesting game. It looks and sounds very nice. I like how the sun's expression changes with time. It takes quite some time to figure out what each thing does and when/how you can build it.
While I find it very innovative and interesting I found it a bit annoying to have to run around to connect the "machines" (for one, it's kinda pointless, and the controls feel a bit weird). Why not just connect them using the mouse?
You mentioned that one can lower the volume. Could you add the controls for this to the description?
Turning was extremely slow, so shooting at enemies was kinda difficult; didn't survive very long. Not very innovative but otherwise solid game.
Cute little game. Very nice sound effects.
Very well written and fitting music.
Great idea and well executed. Looks and sound very well. The later levels are quite challenging. Awesome game!
I never saw such a large team before, 9 people are quite a lot for a Ludum Dare team. Isn't it hard to coordinate so many coders with such a small amount of time? And SLOC is of course the only relevant factor :wink:
When I first started the game all cannons fired at the same time and produced a very loud sound, I was quite startled. Anyway.
There were a few things I didn't like that much: - It is very hard to see how much a cannon is charged (there is this glowy thingy, but that is hard to see) - I didn't quite get what I'm supposed to do. I just walked around so that each cannon was visited from time to time and they all shot once a rocket came. I didn't really see a connection between my actions and cannnons shooting down rockets - Sometimes a cannon wouldn't shoot even though I was standing right next to it - The cannon sound got a bit annoying after some time
Is there a better strategy than just to walk from left to right and back?
I think it could be a very interesting game idea if implemented with more time (or maybe if I better understood how to play it?).
Did not really convince me, but it's hard to say exactly what could have been done better. :thinking:
But interesting idea.
Really fun game, I enjoyed it very much! The graphics are very nice, also with the animations. The audio helps set the mood and the idea is really cool.
Web version does not work for me, when I click continue after the intro text I get:
``` Uncaught TypeError: Failed to execute 'shaderSource' on 'WebGLRenderingContext': parameter 1 is not of type 'WebGLShader'. at _glShaderSource (blob:https://v6p9d9t4.ssl.hwcdn.net/52552522-9113-4bed-a151-b5cb6c60b178:2:307313) at Array.ISl (blob:https://v6p9d9t4.ssl.hwcdn.net/82ed20a8-fff9-460d-8d46-50a01d670944:20:858277) at pYa (blob:https://v6p9d9t4.ssl.hwcdn.net/82ed20a8-fff9-460d-8d46-50a01d670944:12:786697) at M$a (blob:https://v6p9d9t4.ssl.hwcdn.net/82ed20a8-fff9-460d-8d46-50a01d670944:12:947236) ... at Object.LPl [as dynCall_v] (blob:https://v6p9d9t4.ssl.hwcdn.net/82ed20a8-fff9-460d-8d46-50a01d670944:20:843377) at browserIterationFunc (blob:https://v6p9d9t4.ssl.hwcdn.net/52552522-9113-4bed-a151-b5cb6c60b178:2:47998) at Object.runIter (blob:https://v6p9d9t4.ssl.hwcdn.net/52552522-9113-4bed-a151-b5cb6c60b178:2:51071) at Browser_mainLoop_runner (blob:https://v6p9d9t4.ssl.hwcdn.net/52552522-9113-4bed-a151-b5cb6c60b178:2:49533) ```
Awesome! The music is really relaxing and fits the mood of the game. The visuals are nice as well. The puzzles took quite some time to figure out but were very interesting. I especially liked the little drone with it's funny comments. Great game!
Awesome! So creative and beautiful. I especially liked the nice art style and the calm music. The little notes that were played when collecting those "flying things" sounded awesome.
I found the idea very interesting to give the orbs kind of a personality. But I found that there was very little context to answer the questions so I didn't think much when choosing whether to save someone. The stats at the end were really cool.
At the beginning I flew around for a few minutes until I noticed that you can go to the right. I guess because I tried it at the beginning and couldn't go there I thought there had to be something else. Felt like Frog Fractions once I found out...
Nice game, funny orange dude at the start. Got pretty simple after the first coal delivery and you were always filling generators. But you fought Unity quite well :wink:
Cool entry. It was a bit easy: after you got over the first few power plants you had basically infinite energy. I liked how the map was extended if you built at the border. And it's interesting to see a hexagonal grid instead of those boring square ones.
Some bugs I encountered:
- I was not able to buy a science station and thus couldn't finish the game. ;( - If you place a building (power plant) on a tile at the left border it won't show up.
PowerOrDie.png
Really creative idea, cool game.
At the start it was a bit annoying that there are so little apps and you had to search them. Also the Ctrl-Alt-Delete wasn't that useful as it was faster to just shoot the app instead of shooting three keys and you had to wait between them.
But why are apps shooting at me? Should this the symbolize the draining of the battery?
The graphics are really nice.
Solid game. Nice calm music. The voice-over once you get the artifact is cool. Art could be a bit more "advanced", but I know it's not easy in such a little time (I'm not good at it either :shrug:).
Solid game. The only issue I had is already in the description; enemies spawning way too close.
Interesting idea. I found it very hard to control the dog as he moved so fast. Because of this it took me quite some time to hit a battery. Also there was way too little time to find everything and it was quite hard to find everything. But good to see an other interpretation of the theme.
Solid platformer with cool graphics, animations and sounds. And screenshakes :grin:. Was quite fun to play and I wish there were some more levels.
I like the things floating in space in the background. The game itself is in my opinion a bit boring as there is not much to do and most of the time you wait until new batteries appear. I also really liked the fact that the screen got darker the less energy you had left.
Very cool game. The game play is really nice and the graphics are well done.
I found it a bit annoying when the attacking electrons were below me and I wanted to dash them, I got below the screen and died. So I couldn't do anything against them as long as they were below me (which was like most of the time).
Solid game with very nice graphics effects. The idea that you only can move with shooting is very interesting.
The art was very beautiful and the mood of the game was awesome. Solid game.
Sometimes the controls were a bit tricky. For example at the start of the first level at the stairs going down. You had to stop on a step to be able to jump. If you came running you would be flying off the edge of a step and couldn't jump. Some games solve this by being able to jump even shortly after you left the platform.
Also it was a bit too dark, but keeping it on the darker side helped the mood.
This game is genius, I enjoyed it very much. I like how he always walks back to his golf cart even though it would be faster to walk. And of course I was a great president and won bigly.
Very nice game. I found it really cool how the light around you got smaller the less energy you had. But the robots are really aggressive and because of the "load time" of the gun you always had to walk backwards. I don't think it's bad per se, but you have to get used to it. All in all really cool.
The planet looks really cute. But I don't really see the theme here. Easy and well implemented idea. The music was also really nice.
Very funny game. At first it wasn't clear that you had to twoot to get power back. I only noticed once I read your comment. Before this I was always impeached :cry:. Somehow nothing happened when I pressed a button on the phone, so my foreign relations were always at zero, but that didn't seem to matter. The audio and graphics were pretty nice and set a good mood.
Really cool game. The music was a bit too low. I found puzzle mechanic very interesting and some levels are quite challenging. The added "dimension" with the night is also very cool.
I find it frustrating that there is no way to find the finish other than drive around, run out of battery and try again. But otherwise good game for 48 hours.
I'm not really sure, what the game wants to tell me... But it looks very cool and the audio creates a nice mood.
I really enjoyed the game. Once you got some automation going it is really satisfactory to watch them work. The graphics are ok, even though your artist disappeared...
Btw. you can change the ?dl=0 in your urls to ?dl=1 so that we don't have to do a few extra clicks to download the game.
Awesome game! The little aliens are very cute and the art overall is very nice. The levels have an enjoyable difficulty (although the one after which I quit had some really nasty jumps where you had to jump outwards and then change direction while in air, which were quite tricky).
Nice game. It's a bit annoying that you are not able to turn while the arm is moving. But I really liked the ability to bowl away mice.
Very nice idea and well done. It is already very difficult with only 6 musicians...
I really liked the LEGO-like look of the city.
Really nice idea.
It would be nice to be able to undo staying up late / pretending to be ill (after I clicked the button and before I proceeded to the next day). Also it is rather easy and I would like a bit more of a challenge.
Awesome game! The music is great (as in all of your games) and the game hits the perfect spot of difficulty for me.
Interesting idea. Can you convert the fans only with a sax solo? Somehow punching them didn't help.
@interpol The interest rate follows a sine curve between 5% and 30%, with some noise added. In my experience the interest rate doesn't matter at all as the number of bills is what gets you and not the amount of money.
Awesome game, the last "level" was a nice touch.
While I really enjoyed playing it would be nice to be able to jump just after the edge (like in Super Mario). Otherwise it is really difficult to make some jumps: too early and you hit the the ceiling, too late and you fall down. With being able to jump for a very short time after you walked off a platform it is far easier to make those difficult jumps and I don't think the game would lack because of the reduced difficulty. Another thing is that it is hard to stop precisely. If you have to hit a button on the ceiling and there are lower blocks to the left and right it was quite hard to stop at the correct spot to jump and hit the button.
But again, the game is really cool.
Awesome game. It truly gets harder the more you have. Once I had too many tentacles my finger kind of interlocked and it was really hard to release a specific tentacle. The game was a lot of fun, good job.
Somehow I managed to "swing back" and landed on the floor without any way to grab anything (and thus was stuck there).
(72h version)
Really cool idea and well implemented. The first few levels were quite easy as you could just let them pile up and then release one after the other. I would have loved to get some more challenging levels.
Very cool idea but it would be nice if there were more potential crashes. Right now most cars can just drive through without the player having to do anything. Thus, it gets boring quite fast.
The music is quite annoying, sorry. The game is rather boring as it takes the cars forever to drive somewhere. Also I didn't really get what you're supposed to do. I built some roads between the houses and suddenly it said game over. Also, as there is no money you can just build a road on every field...
Very nice idea but the game is kind of boring to play. Also the music was a bit annoying if you listen too long.
Great game and really funny animations. I assume when they were banging their head on the table they were extra productive :P.
My first cat died during the tutorial...
Very cool game. I got to level 9 but then wasn't fast enough to create a nice traffic jam. Sometimes there were quite few cars to work with.
Awesome game. I always love games where the window moves around and exposes different parts of the map. It was sometimes quite tricky to solve the puzzles but also very interesting.
Nice little game, sometimes quite dark thoughts. I found it a bit boring as there wasn't much to do.
Interesting idea. It seemed like aiming with the mouse does not work correctly.
Very cool game. I just did not fully understand how exactly the sea walls work. If I selected an area with the sea wall "tool", some fields have some "stone" on it and others don't. Maybe you could add a bit more explanation how this stuff works?
Great game with a nice soundtrack and art. Really enjoyed playing it.
Awesome game, really fun to play! Also quite challenging.
The music is really awesome and the sound effects are quite funny. The graphics are also really nice. For me it was not really clear when exactly I am able to use the transport action. There seems to be a cool down but an indicator for it is missing. Also, I'm missing a challenge in the game. Sure, you should not let earth explode but the available actions are way too less powerful to really do anything. The transport has a really high cool down and picking them up myself is way too slow and with a too limited capacity. Thus, you feel to not be in power and you don't really feel challenged.
Nice game, quite fun to play. Although the later levels are a bit hard.
Beautiful ending with very nice music. Really enjoyed the experience.
@honey Thanks. I know about this issue, I have the same problem on my computer. But there isn't really much I can do, it's just a problem with the export from the engine. For now you will have to download the desktop version if you want to try it.
Interesting idea but a bit boring.
The game looks gorgeous! A shame you couldn't finish it.
Very interesting idea to incorporate the theme. Quite fun game.
Awesome idea and very nice art and music. I just find the controls to be quite difficult. Sometimes when I clicked above an iceberg it moved upwards instead of downwards and kicking all animals off it in the process. But otherwise quite fun. I assume the towers of ice bears is on purpose ;)
The sound effects were really good. But all audio was way too quiet. The graphics were also very nice.
I was missing some goal in the game. There is no real incentive for the player to build anything and there does not seem to be a way to "win" the game or even make progress. It's just you build something and then the planet looks a bit worse, but why should you build anything at all?
Great game, although it gets stressful really fast. But really fun to play, well done!
Does not work in chromium. If I press space the following error appears: ``` Error in event handler for runtime.onMessage: TypeError: Failed to execute 'elementFromPoint' on 'Document': The provided double value is non-finite. at elementFromScreenXY (
In Firefox it works but pressing an arrow key or space scrolls down the page and I can't see the game anymore.
Awesome game! I really enjoyed it and played it for a very long time!
Really fun game but the physics engine is really bad and the boxes are jumping around everywhere. But maybe this is part of the fun experience ;P
Also, the game looks really nice.
Awesome game!
Nice idea but I did not find the game very engaging and kind of boring.
Awesome idea and great game. But the posing was quite finicky to do and there was way too little time for the harder levels. Also I don't really see the point of the slow down as I was not able to adjust the posing anymore. Furthermore, it was almost impossible to see the pose required from above so the first try was just to get a view of the required shape. But otherwise, nicely done.
Nice game! Your grapsics look awesome.
The game looks very nice. But I think the game play is quite lacking. It takes way too long for anything interesting to happen and you are not really sure what you are supposed to do. Also, you don't have to engage the enemies, you can just fly away from them, so they are not that interesting to fight. At the end I found a swirly thing, not sure if this was the portal. When I fly into it I just came back to the main screen, maybe I just died. But there was no message, so I don't know. But I think with a bit more time this could be a very cool game.
Very fun game. I liked the graphics a little bit. Home sweet homer.
Interesting idea. The jumping was a bit too powerful and hard to control. Also, the game is kinda boring. I think just adding more "juice" would help a lot, e.g. more particles. But the penguin was cute.
Linux build does not work. Also you have a typo in the second word, should be 'is', not 'if'.
Interesting idea. Simple and solid implementation. At first it wasn't that clear for me that the black hole only grows if I take too long to place the tile, this could have been a bit clearer. Also, sound is way too quite.
I lost the game! I lost the game as well! Never mind nice game.
The game looks really nice. I found it quite difficult to control the character. Also, the constant "you have to forget something" was really annoying and did not help the story much. But interesting idea.
The intro to a level is really nice. The game play could use quite some improvements. For example it is really frustrating if the tile you are standing on just disappears and you thus "randomly" lose. Also, the controls feel a bit weird as the grid is rotated 45 degrees to the control movements and thus you always have to alternate between moving horizontally and vertically. But nice idea.
Very well done, the game is really entertaining. But the bucket is way too small, it seems impossible to get rid of all the goo. After a trip to the toilet all the goo i picked up was already back...
Cool idea and well implemented. The timer is really buggy though: if you don't press space to start the game, the timer will start increasing but it will not change to decreasing after you started solving the puzzle.
Very nice idea and the driving was quite fun. It also had a nice atmosphere. However, it was a bit frustrating trying to find where I had to go. Were the arrows pointing to the place I am supposed to go or to the other places where the people were talking about? It was a bit confusing.
The visuals and the audio are really nice! But the game play was a bit weak and the controls felt weird. The parts where you were running around could be done much better. But the game looks and sounds awesome and if the game play was on the same level it could have been a great game.
Nice twist on the well known game mechanics. It would have been nice to be able to reset the levels.
Very nice game, although quite hard to not kill too many.
The music was lovely as always. The game is really nice but sometimes a bit too unforgiving. For example close to edges jumping was a bit tricky and sometimes it felt like some key strokes were not correctly registered (probably just a feeling and not a bug). The levels are really clever, but especially the very last one is really hard. The frequent checkpoints were really nice to have.
Awesome game, with great art and sounds. Everything fits together very well.
I love the little easter egg on the title screen (ahh, video games).
The game looks really nice but unfortunately the HTML5 version was really slow for me. Could you upload a Linux export of the game?
Nice game, although a bit hard. Well done.
The UI looks lovely, a shame the game is not finished.
Awesome game, really fun to play. Love the whacky art style.
@prodigalson There should be audio. Maybe it's a problem with chrome not allowing autoplay of audio. You can try the web version on itch.io, maybe this one works better.
Nice game. It was not that clear what effect the items you could collect would have. There were some numbers displayed but I had no idea what those numbers represent. I also did not feel any difference...
Interesting idea, but it is really frustrating how fast the towers disappear. And I don't really understand why the salt wants to hurt me, but whatever :)
Very interesting idea! There were a bit too many rules so in the end it was mostly some trial and error to figure out the relevant rules again. But the idea is very well executed.
Could you upload a Linux build of the game? It looks really fun in the screenshots ;)
Cute, simple game. I like it a lot. As others already pointed out it would be nice to differentiate the crew members. How it is displayed now it looks like in a Super Mario game with the multiple lives you have.
Are there even 20 gems in the game? It felt like I explored everything but I got only 13 gems.
You have to help me... I played the game at least 20 times but I never found more than 13 gems. But everyone else seems to have no problems. I suspect there is some "room" in the bottom right (sometimes you can see there something) but there is no way to get there.
Thanks. No idea how I could miss the path down...
Quite fun game and nice graphics. It was a bit too easy though and the theme was not really incorporated ("sacrificing" XP is just like paying for the upgrade).
The art is really nice and the game looks great. But the screen shake is way over the top and the game play is too hectic for me. The controls are also a bit annoying and it's hard to accurately control the character. Mixed with the screen shake it is not really fun to play. I think the game has a lot of potential but the mentioned points drag it down.
Very beautiful game! The atmosphere is great, especially the audio improved the feeling of the game a lot. The controls felt quite good, which is not easy in a platformer.
Interesting idea but a bit boring to play.
Well done. Quite a dark game, but unfortunately quite fitting.
Cool idea. The controls were a bit weird, but otherwise it was nice to play.
Fun, simple game. After a bit it got boring though as it is maybe a bit too simple.
Awesome game! Very well done!
It is very visible that you were "guided" by the talk by Vlambeer and you did it very well. I especially liked the shells piling up. However, I think you overdid the slowmo part a bit.
The game is quite hard (even with a controller) and the last few meters took forever. But it was really fun to play.
Very nice game. The art and music are well done!
There are some small things that could be improved like showing that you are carrying something. Also, if you die, it should respawn way faster, I don't want to have to click two buttons just to restart. Checkpoints when you sacrifice something would also be nice. Finally, being able to only carry one thing at a time is kind of annoying as you then have to solve the same puzzle multiple times.
Very nice game, it's really cool to play. I didn't manage to get very far without dying but it was still enjoyable.
Very interesting idea. It was a bit annoying that if you moved a piece all other pieces would lose the collision as well. So you could not adjust a bridge part if you were standing on another part. But otherwise well done.
Really cool game. I really liked that all the pirates had all those attributes which influence how you can sail and how the resource usage is influenced. You managed to match the theme quite well with having to sacrifice some crew members such that the rest of the crew (well, like 1 pirate...) can survive.
Interesting idea but the game play gets boring quite fast. There is not much to do and it's not really motivated, why the devil keeps showing up.
Awesome, creative concept! I found it a bit too easy and it got a bit boring after like 20 generations. But with some polishing and fine tuning this game could become really great!
Really interesting idea and quite fun. For me it was really laggy in the browser so it was kind of hard to play.
This game is awesome! I think it's my favorite of this Jam so far. It's quite fun to think how you could replace some command with a combination of others.
It has a few bugs such as `man find` printing something about `cat`. Furthermore, it would have been nice if some more features were supported. For example it's a bit sad that flags (e.g. `ls -a`) and wildcards (e.g. `ls power*`) are not supported. I'm not sure how you would use find with such restricted input...
Also, the missions repeated itself and then the game got stuck after displaying a success message.
Nice idea. It was a bit annoying to have to choose the level again after you got caught. Also the level design was not that great as you often had to walk back where you already went through. Furthermore, you had to search for the key, which was not that fun. This might have been intended but I think the strength of the game lies in its stealth part and not in the "looking for the key"-part.
Interesting mechanics. However, I think there are some elements that make it less interesting. By the length it's mostly quite easy to figure out which stars to connect. Furthermore, I think the controls turning green when they are correct helps too much and makes it less interesting.
Very nice game. I was so happy when I unlocked the background music ;). However, the boss was way too hard, I gave up.
@sg-goennung @agrdev If you reload the page after you get the black screen it should load correctly.
@gildar76 there is a button to disable music/sounds in the top right corner.
@tomfu Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately I did not have time to add a tutorial, but I hoped the controls/mechanics would be simple enough. But if you created the game yourself everything seems obvious...
@peachtreeoath One approach is to use the shoutr.io messages to gain popularity. Based on the message you will gain, but might also lose some popularity. Try to use the names of the cities to increase the effect. Positive tweets give you more popularity, while negative tweets are bad for you. If you're curious, [here](https://github.com/SmBe19/LD45/blob/master/src/tweet.gd#L3-L4) you can find what's considered good or bad.
@brokenmirrormedia Yeah, you could call it a "sentiment analysis", however it is really simple, mostly based on a word list (see [here](https://github.com/SmBe19/LD45/blob/master/src/tweet.gd#L3-L4) if you're curious). There is some additional stuff going on to prevent you from always spamming the same tweet and some randomization to make it more like real life ;).
Interesting game. It is quite hard to figure out, what the rules for the game are. I first had to watch you play the game to figure out the basics (besides popping balloons)...
Interesting idea. I killed the rats too early, so I could not get rid of the tigers and therefore lost... But cool game!
Awesome experience. The music was really great and matched the mood of the game. At first I was a bit confused because there are no instructions, but with time I figured out what I was supposed to do. I even launched a rocket ;).
Awesome game with very creative mechanics. It took a bit to get used to it, but it's really cool. I have never seen something like this before, very nice!
Cute game. At the end it was mostly waiting though, until you had enough for an obelisk. But was a quite enjoyable experience.
The game looks quite nice. However, I didn't really understand the story. I didn't find the rope, and with this really slow walking speed it was a bit annoying to search for it. However, I found the stone and then could somehow open a door and then the game ended...
Looks really nice, but it's not really balanced. If you can fill the whole island with lakes, you just have way too much coins... But it looks really nice if you do not optimize for coins but try to build a nice island :)
It took me quite a moment until I figured out which of the objects i can use to build something. Also, it takes really long to grab enough stuff and just walking around all day is not that fun... But nice art.
Very nice game, I especially liked the audio. However, there are a few things that I did not like that much:
- The game was quite dark and sometimes it was hard to see where the path is. - Walking is not gameplay! You had to walk for quite some time without anything happening, I sometimes got bored while walking. Also, the walking speed was quite slow. - It feels like the decision you make does not really have an impact. You even tell the player that if he had chosen the laser he would have to go through the maze, but then a few seconds later one has to go through the maze for the axe and I'm pretty sure it's the exact same maze. I think it would have been better to hide this a bit.
But overall I enjoyed the game.
Interesting game. I found it a bit weird that sometimes there were two buttons but one of them was disabled. Is this on purpose or a bug of the web version? In a second play (with different character) other buttons were active. If this is intentional I find it a bit weird as I don't really have a choice so it does not make much sense to show buttons.
I found it a bit annoying having to redo the same part of the level over and over again. Furthermore, the controls were a bit difficult to handle as you slide a lot.
Awesome game! I played it for a very long time. Unfortunately I was not able to reach the cities. It seams that the tree of life does not expand the grass anymore (or very slowly) once it is older. This made it quite difficult to expand.
Very nice game. Very atmospheric with matching music. And it looks quite nice.
Cool game! Very creative idea.
Pretty standard platformer. The hitboxes were sometimes a bit too large and you could get stuck in walls. Also, why does every time I just walk over an edge the jump sound play? Quite annoying...
I don't really see how the theme applies here.
Very nice game and creative idea. Somehow it almost never worked to talk with people (I was very close to them and pressed space, but nothing happened). Also, when the game ended, it said in the text it was 3 am, but the clock showed like 11:30.
It's quite stressful to keep everyone happy, but it's an interesting mechanic (although it will probably get boring after some time).
Awesome game! Great art and great music as always! I am looking forward to your entry every time.
Nice game with an interesting idea. I would have liked the printer to be faster, most of the time I was just waiting for the next order to finish printing.
I am not sure what I am supposed to do. I think I need to somehow bring energy to the rooms, but I am really confused about the energy bars and how exactly to provide energy.
Very nice game. Even though it is not finished, it was quite a bit of fun to play.
Very creative idea. The game has a great mood and very nice visuals. However, it is not really balanced. I can just sell them so much stuff, that no matter how much they break, I come out ahead. I ended with like 60k. You just buff one side as much as possible so the fight is as short as possible.
Clever idea. It would have been nice to be able to delete blocks or connections.
Very nice game. It took a bit to get used to the controls and how everything works, but after that it was a lot of fun.
Great game! It was nice getting used to all the items and getting faster with delivering everything.
Very nice game. Unfortunately it lagged really badly in the browser, so it was hard to move the mouse fast enough to hit the tiles :(
Interesting idea, but I think it gets boring quite fast.
Cute game, but it got boring quite fast as there was not much to do except walking to the arrow and not taking too sharp turns.
Nice game, but I found it way too hard as the particle is moving really fast. Maybe start a bit slower and then increase the speed with time?
Interesting idea, but I found it quite boring quite fast. There is very little to do, and there is no skill nor any thinking involved in playing it. You just press the button above the line where the item spawned, that's it.
Really cool game, I enjoyed it a lot. One thing that could be improved is to better distinguish the player character from the enemies, sometimes I was confused which one was mine.
Really cool game, it's fun to play. But from all this driving in circles I got a bit sick... ;)
Interesting idea, but I think it's a bit hard, I didn't manage to get through any loops at all...
Nice game, although quite predictable and not that challenging.
Cute game, but very slow at the start. And really frustrating having to wait for the tool to go back and out again if you did not catch anything...
Really great game, audio and visuals work really well.
There was a small but annoying bug where the text starts again immediately after the last text panel (e.g. when reading the book in the book shelf about the ducklings). I guess it fits to the theme of stuck in a loop, but after the 10th time reading the same book it got a bit boring ;). It's probably because pressing space to close the last panel also triggers opening the first text panel.
Nice idea and well implemented.
Really fun game. But it's a bit weird that you can just spam the same ad all the time and always get more voters.
Lol: "You could get us killed. Your driving was absolutely flawless"...
Really enjoyed the game, it's really fun how you learn the map better and better and finally can get the huge bonuses. I think the size of the map is of a good size, a bigger map would be way too hard to memorize. I think if you did all of the area you originally planned, it would have been way too hard.
Cool mechanic and nice puzzles. The narration was nice at the start but got repetitive quite fast. Furthermore, the level progression was rather slow and I would have preferred it if new mechanics were introduced a bit quicker.
Interesting game. Rather easy though. And it feels a bit like the theme was added as a second thought.
Cool idea and very nice visuals. While there are quite a few games with the same premise of a time loop where you have previous copies of yourself (including our own game), it is always interesting to see other people's takes of the same basic idea. As others have pointed out, the puzzles get repetitive quite fast.
Interesting idea, but it was a bit cumbersome to input the solutions.
Awesome game, one of the best takes of this idea I've seen so far. Very entertaining to play. However, sometimes it was (almost) impossible to get to the items fast enough.
Fun little game. However, it's a bit frustrating if you can't see the exit of the loop and you have to guess.
Interesting idea, but kind of confusing to play.
Fun game, although at first I was a bit confused what I was supposed to do.
Awesome idea and very fun. However, it was a bit frustrating to grab the planets, especially the small ones. This made some levels a bit frustrating because I didn't manage to rescue a planet because I could not click on it precise enough. I think with this improved it would be an even more fun game.
Clever idea, but very frustrating to play as the controls are a bit wonky (e.g. after destroying rails one has to first select some other tile before one can build a new tile at the destroyed position).
Interesting idea, but very frustrating to play.
Fun idea, although a bit confusing to play. I like that how the two "sides" have to interact to solve a level.
Neat idea, but I found it quite frustrating to play as I always had to wait to switch switches and I had no idea what a certain switch would do. As I only could switch a switch once a loop, this made everything painfully slow and boring. I think just adding some indication of which switch switches which switch would help a lot. Also, sometimes two switches were switched at the same time because the sword somehow hit both.
I think it's not that interesting to play, sorry. There is not any skill involved and it's purely luck. You always perform the exact same algorithm to move the die and you don't really have any choice for what to do.
Cute game, I enjoyed it.
HTML Version does not work for me, after the title screen when the first message appears, I only see a black screen behind the message and nothing happens.
Edit: Ah, you have to confirm the first message with Enter... I thought there was something wrong as I had a lot of errors in the dev console, sorry.
Cute game, I enjoyed it.
Really innovative idea and very fun to play!
Very cool idea and well executed.
Really nice mechanics and very fun game. But it gets hard very fast, I only made it to level 3 :(
Nice game. However, I don't see what having to walk to the ball adds to the game? I guess it's more like real golf...
Really awesome game. However, as others already pointed out, it would be nice if the new blocks were not completely random. As it is, it feels a bit unfair if the color which I need for the current "mission" just does not appear anymore.
Nice game. However, the upgrades were quite unbalanced. After a few upgrades only using the first mineral, I was able to gather the most valuable mineral and then spam upgrades. I think it would have been nice, if the price of the upgrades increased after you bought one. Also, I did not find anywhere, which upgrades I already bought how many times.
Really nice atmosphere, cool game.
Interesting idea, nice game.
Really nice game, feels very polished and is nice to play. Platformers in LD often have controls which feel slightly off, but this was not the case at all, you managed to implement it very well. I also like the level design where you nicely introduce new mechanics where you have to use a new mechanic but there is no pressure. Well done!
Very nice music, creates a fitting atmosphere. Also really nice art.
Nice game, played it for a long time. However, the controls somehow feel a bit wrong and I had a lot of trouble to steer the submarine well. I'm not sure what exactly the problem was though. Also, the end does not make much sense, why am I suddenly above the surface (or is it a cave?) again?
I think it's rather boring, sorry. There are only two upgrades available and the price progression does not feel right. Usually in clicker games, you want automation to take over rather quickly, as it is just not fun to click a few hundred times. And I have no clue what the mistery update does, so it's also not engaging to try to upgrade this.
Nice game, although sometimes a bit frustrating to make some of the jumps.
I felt like there was not much I was able to influence. I had three cards to choose from, but as they were all random, I might have as well clicked on a button "next event".
Very nice and unique mechanic. Great idea.
I found the controls so frustrating. Why does it jump so much in the vertical axis, but almost does not move on the horizontal?
Awesome game, enjoyed it a lot. Very fun to play.
Very cute and nice game, with an amazing soundtrack as always. Really enjoyed the experience!
Nice adaption of the theme, and interesting to see a card game in Ludum Dare.
Nice idea, enjoyed it. But I never figured out how to fix the lamp, maybe just an issue with the web version.
Very nice and enjoyable game. Although the music got a bit repetitive after some time, would have been nice if there were multiple tracks and not just one.
Very nice story and interesting puyyles.
Very frustrating always having to start from the beginning again, I died so many times...
The game looks and sounds very beautiful. I found it kind of hard to control the ship and had a hard time hitting the enemies. I really liked all the particle effects and the visuals for the mech mode.
Amazing game! I love to be able to "plan" my flappy bird moves and that I don't have to start over if I fail, but can just move my tap a bit. Level 6 was really hard though...
Wow, that was an experience. Really nice game, but also very creepy.
While playing I mostly just thought wtf was going on, but the ending was very nice and the whole game made much more sense.
Cool idea. The controls felt really weird. It felt like I pressed on the beat but the direction cursor was all over the place. I had no chance to control the character well. Also the music sounded really weird, do you slow it down in real time according to some game state?
Yes, I used the 0.2 version. If the computer is too slow for the game it seems to be really unoptimized and doing stuff it should not be doing. I mean, my computer can run Crysis, but not Pacman? ;P
It is really hard to know when exactly "the beat occurs". I sometimes pressed space always in the same interval and it would work for a few rounds and then suddenly slip.
Awesome experience. I am not really sure what the game wants to tell me, but it was interesting.
Hmmm...
At first I was like, "cute game", but then duty called... I really liked the combination of the two genres, but I found the military part not that well balanced. The first few rounds it was really easy and the game started to get boring. But then it was suddenly impossible and I died like in the second difficult round. Otherwise really nice but also a bit macabre game.
It seems like you planned some more content with the money. I think this would have been a great addition to the game (I know, time is limited...), to distinguish the rounds further other than number and density of obstacles.
Nice idea, but I think it could be a bit more fleshed out.
The controls felt very weird and annoying to use. I have to click four times just to examine something (burger, double click, item). Also, the text is really small and hard to read.
I tried it on my phone and the gyro worked ok.
Very nice game with great visuals. The game could be a bit more challenging, right now it is pretty easy, but also really relaxing.
Very interesting idea. It took me quite some time to find out how the game works. While the controls are pretty straight forward it would be nice to have a better explanation on what you are supposed to do. If you are not familiar with that kind of game it is not really obvious.
After some time all the typing got quite annoying, but I guess it just proves that it is incompatible. But as I said, a very interesting twist.
Didn't like it that much. When I looked at things, other things changed but I had no idea why or how I can influence anything.
Interesting game. I did not really see the benefit of reading poems and at the end it was a bit annoying to just have to wait until I had enough coins.
Very interesting take on the theme. While the idea is very nice the execution could be a bit better. For one, the game got too hard too fast. A round time of only maybe 20 to 30 seconds is a bit short. Further, the sudden camera jump if you go left or right is really annoying. It would be nicer, if the camera moved gradually to the new position.
Great game, one of my favorites so far! It has a very nice feel to it and it seems quite polished.
I had the impression that the second to last gun was stronger than the last one just because you had some spread and could kill several enemies with one shot.
Nice game. Very creative idea and well executed.
Very nice idea and well executed. I especially loved the sound effects.
Unfortunately your own assessment of "but without the fun of either" is pretty accurate. There is not much to do other than driving around, and there is not really an incentive to get more seeds or drive fast. Also the driving is quite frustrating with the cutting thingy swinging around (but I guess this is intentional).
Btw. many players like to play the game in the browser such that they don't have to download anything. It is possible to export Löve games to JavaScript with [Love.js](https://github.com/TannerRogalsky/love.js/). You can then host the game directly on itch.io.
Interesting idea. The tetris part got very fast after only a few rounds (maybe this is intentional) and there was no way to manage to keep playing it well. Then in the fighting part I did not really understand how I can damage the red thingy. Furthermore, jumping was quite frustrating as you often fell down all the way. But as I said, interesting concept.
Cool idea. I found controlling the car a bit frustrating as it turns very slowly.
Interesting. A bit short and not much a "game", but interesting and nice looking/sounding.
Awesome game! It was really fun to try to hit all the bowling pins. Sometimes it was a bit hard to judge on how far it would fly. A better indicator for this would have been helpful.
Cool game. I found the game play not that engaging, but the dialogues and graphics were awesome. Also, nice credits. Unfortunately sound did not work for me (maybe due to chrome blocking auto playing).
2386m.
I did not really understand, when the car slows down. At the end I was typing about the same speed as at the start and with almost no mistakes, but the car just got slower and slower. Also it would be nice if there was a penalty for typos.
The game does not load for me. After the Unity loading screen it just stays gray... Windows 10 with Edge as well as Chrome.
Audio would have been great. Found the game a bit boring and it was annoying to have to pick up the gold myself. There was very little feedback when fighting other than small numbers appearing. I did not even notice I was losing health until I was almost dead.
Very interesting idea. I found it a bit boring though. Also I think it would have been better if you have to type the letters in the correct order. Right now you can basically just smash some keys on the keyboard until you move.
I also found a bug: If you find the key, walk away and then back to the key, you are stuck and can not progress further.
Awesome game. A bit stressful as you have to react very fast once a new level starts, but also very fun.
Interesting idea. The controls feel really unresponsive and the ball is hard to control. Also it was not that fun to look for the goal as there was no indication of where it could be. It is a bit annoying to walk across the whole map with the ball.
Nice idea. The problem is that there does not seem to be any penalty for a wrong button press. So the best strategy is to just smash all the buttons all the time and you don't have to think which buttons to press. Otherwise I think it would be a really fun game.
