You seems to have a lot of level, that's good! The tutorial was maybe not needed. When we play the game, we don't feel like we will see something new (like a new animal) because you are already showing everything on the tutorial. I know it's really hard to come out with those level designs, so it's pretty impressive in a so short amount of time. Nice entry
Props for making so many levels in 48 hours. Would have been nice to see more variety and gameplay, as it seemed like too many pieces did nearly the same thing. Fewer animals with more variety of needs could be more interesting. Also, moving to hexagonal spaces might have made for more possibilities with the puzzle design and better fit within the circular 'small world'. This concept has potential. You have potential.
I would second the mouse control comment, as the first thing I tried was drag-n-drop :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: . It is very playable in its current state.

This has a lot of potential. For the tutorial and one world I think it has just enough variety animal-wise. It also has a good amount of levels, but a lot of them don't last very long. Still I enjoyed it. I fun little puzzle game with a lot of potential (maybe more worlds with new animals in the future?)
I think I'm with everybody else on mouse control. But I could also imagine this being on touch devices. This is the kind of game I would love to play on android. :D
Nice game, the puzzles are really enjoyable.
Very original, good puzzles, would love to have some sound to help with the mood.

Really neat little puzzler! Would make a great casual game for mobile. Agree with Goncalo that some sound would be nice. Great job!
This is a fun puzzle game! I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. With some more level design and mechanics I feel like this game has some great potential!

The first game i've seen with a proper tutorial! I like the puzzles and i like them even more because i'm properly introduced to them. Like others said the sheer amount of puzzles is also really great. I would like to see this game with polished visuals and audio, i think its a cool concept!
Great puzzles, and the tutorial helps you understand how everything works.
It's definitely a fun start! I think there might be an issue with the level with two giraffes, a hippo and a lion. Pretty sure I had a few ways it should work and wasn't recognizing the lion in a good fit. Nice job thought!
Haha, pretty morbid game, I like it! impressive that you made so many levels and a detailed tutorial. Some animated effects and music would obviously be cool.
Great Ludum Dare entry. I could see this becoming a great mobile game.
Very nice, good job on having a tutorial, and then some good puzzles to solve afterward. The graphics were quite good, though the contrast could have been a little more uniform. The giraffes and vultures barely had an outline, but the lion did, for example.
A shame about the lack of sound.
Overall a cool little entry with potential to be completed in a pretty decent game!

Nice idea for a game, the tutorial is very informative. I like the cute graphics. In the tutorial I felt that I had to learn a lot for playing the game, puzzling afterwards through desert planet was a bit less interesting then.

A fun experience! I like games puzzles like this. Little maps very well used with many variables per animal. Miss a total mouse control to play more comfortable. I also think this is a perfect mobile game design to play fast in any place. I really enjoyed it. Nice job!!
Good start. I would probably break up the tutorial to show the animals before they are first introduced in a level. This will make it not seem to long but still get the point across as to what needs to be done. Sound would have been nice. Also, I could not seem to find any arrangement that would work for level 3. I am probably missing something somewhere. I could get the monkey and leopard happy, but not the vulture.
Wow, this is a crazy-complex puzzle game to have put together in 48 hours! Nice work!
If this were a more traditional game, I'm not sure if ALL animals would be introduced in the tutorial. Maybe just the first four animals, then a few levels with just those four. The the next two and a few more levels, etc. It feels kind of a lot to have all those animals introduced without giving me a chance to really learn them!
That said, I WANT to learn them! Great work!
Cool game. Fun figuring out the different aspects into this puzzle style game to get all of the different animals to live in this ecosystem. Had fun trying to figure everything out and it got hard as I forgot what some of the rules for the animals were, like for the monkeys. Keep up the good work!

Thanks everyone for your feedback  A lot of peaople said that they felt a bit overwhelmed by the tutorial. I tried to help with the box that tells you the rules for the selected animal. But I think interleaving tutorial and actual levels would have helped to memorize the rules better.
@clegamecoop Thank you  In that level (6 on the desert planet), there is only one place for the lion that works. Like all the other animals, the lion is unhappy on a desert tile.
@james-dunlap The trick to that level is that the vulture does not "block" the line of sight of the leopard.
@simonhutchinson Thanks! PuzzleScript helped a lot to get started with the puzzle aspects of the game. I can really recommend trying that for puzzle games.

This was a good little puzzle game. It had a good amount of content for the time limit. I don't think the controls were too clunky although changing them so that you have the option of using only the keyboard or only the mouse would be nice. With some music and more art this would be a nice game!

Good game. The variety of different animals provides a lot of content for the game. The puzzles are also well-designed.
Definitely separate the tutorial. Put the tutorial for each animal in the level prior to their first real appearance.

First, congrats to fit the nice tutorial that you did, with that we can understand the basic mechanics of the game really easily.
As some said, maybe splitting it to get some tutorial levels everytime you wanna introduce a new animal would be nice, but what you did with the small window at the bottom of the screen to remember the details for each animal is great!
Really smart way to exploit the theme, graphics are nice too, maybe some music would be welcome ^^
I just got stuck at the end of the level 10, can't manage to get the monkey the food he needs ahah
Great work ! :D

Very cool game, the puzzles were very interesting. I really liked the help that appeared when you selected an animal; without this it would be almost impossible to remember all the requirements. One of my favorite mechanics so far.
Sometimes I "accidentally" solved a level while I was moving an animal to some point and happened to pass a "solving state" (which I didn't notice). This didn't feel that satisfactory but I don't know how to prevent this.
At first I thought there would be too many different animals, but I ended the game without having any problem with that. Funny, easy to learn and complete. Good job!
Not only is this a solid puzzle game, but you have an actual tutorial! Very well done! Graphics could use some improvement, controls could be a little better but I really enjoyed this game! Took me a while to solve the last puzzle ^_^
Very nice job. Easy to learn, hard to play: perfect balance. Final level was not easy :)
It could help to have more information about animals in the game, for example, you learn that lions needs two animals but while playing did not say that. As my english is not very good, I always forgot which drawing represent "bushes", etc. Maybe by hoovering the cursor over the grass you could see "grass", etc. But they are just details. Congratulations for the game!
Very good job, I really liked it - especially good having the tutorial, but felt it was very front loaded.
The tutorial levels could have been interspersed with the levels as you built up tools to make the different small ecosystems. For example, a tutorial for giraffe, then level for one giraffe, then two giraffes then maybe three giraffes, then tutorial for monkey, then level for monkey, level for two monkeys, and a level for monkey + giraffe, tutorial for leopard, then level with leopard and monkey, leopard and giraffe, leopard, monkey and giraffe.
Adding the new animals as the difficulty increased in the levels. I think it would have helped - your on screen clues were very helpful to remind me of the tutorial lesson I had a while back.
The mouse clicking didn't always work for selecting an animal, but couldn't figure out why to give you insight if it were a bug, or just how I used my mouse. :)

I was playing [SmallTrek](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/smalltrek) in this LD, and this is a very similar game.
This one is easier to control though, and therefore much faster to finish, not all the delay stuff.
I feel like this game is probably better due to the ease of controls, except on the sound part.
Great game!

Wow this is so very similar in many ways to my game SmallTrek.
A solid game, finished level 10! Sometimes it was a little confusing as to why animals weren't happy, my game had the same issue. When two animals are sharing a plant one is unhappy. Took me a while to figure out that animals were unhappy on desert tiles.
I think the tutorial is unnecessary, just introduce each new animal with a level and let the player figure it out, maybe add a little text and perhaps there are too many animals to keep track of, some seem quite similar. Allow clicking on a background tile to see what it is.
It would be nice to be able to use either just the mouse or just the keyboard, having to switch between both is annoying.
Also add a bit more time after you complete the level successfully so you have time to see WHY you won the level sometimes you move something about and suddenly complete the level but you don't get time to see why.
Great work on your game!

Really nice little puzzle game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iJfrvw7wWA
