LD38 — A Small World

A Cage of Love by Quetzakol 2017-05-04T13:15:38Z

I like the handdrawn art and the few soundeffects that are in the game. And I also like the narrative approach you took with the game. But I think the player-character moves a bit to slow for my taste and some of the graphics are maybe a bit to simple. Still: This is a really interesting game. Good job!

Spaceworm - Defend a sacred tree from worms invading your planet by 5Mixer 2017-05-04T12:21:02Z

This is cool. I agree that the difficulty could ramp up quicker, but I still enjoyed it. The graphics are clean and I really like the soundeffects. It's snake, but with moving targets. I really like it. Good job!

ATLANTIS by OccultOne 2017-05-01T09:02:40Z

It took me a while to figure out what I was supposed to do. But after that, I had a lot of fun with this game. It's looks really beautiful and it sounds really beautiful. I still think it needs a better tutorial or some more in-depth tooltips but apart from that, I really enjoyed it!

Chroma by Megalink 2017-05-04T12:36:40Z

Okay, I love it. A really fun action game. The graphics are simple but the whole game has a nice style to it. The music is absolutely amazing, i started dacing around the enemies. The bosses were cool with different patterns of attack. And it has a good amount of content.

Just one nitpick for me: I wish the players bullets would have a bit more impact. The knockback is good and the screenshake is a really nice touch, but maybe some particles around the enemies when hit?

But still: Cool and fun game, I love it, great job!

Exploitation by Jimbly 2017-05-10T19:35:55Z

Cool strategy/management game! I didn't play it till the end but what I played was fun. The graphics are nice, but the interface didn't immediately click with me. It's a bit too complicated on first glance, but after a while I got it.

I enjoyed my time with it, great job!

Toy Time Turbo by BadRAM 2017-05-01T10:08:52Z

I like the idea. But I'm not sure if I like the physics and the controls. They are a bit too floaty/loose for my taste. It's a bit too easy for the car to spin out. Also I did fall off the track multiple times (track 2 does not like me).

But I still had fun while playing it. Even if the controls are that lose, it still feels good to keep the car under your control and it was fun trying to drift around the corners. Nicely done! :D

Rocket Roller Space Polo by pkenney 2017-05-01T10:47:57Z

Wow. This is awesome. This is way too much fun.

Once I got the hang of it, it felt so good nailing the shots and using your jetpack.

The graphics are simple but nice and clean and the sounds are okay. I did not find any bugs and the game runs without flaws.

I love this. I'm missing only three things: An awesome soundtrack, controller support and **local multiplayer**. Oh my god, if one game ever needed multiplayer, it's this one. :open_mouth:

But even without these things, this game is amazing, addictive and some other good word that beginns with "a".

And now excuse me, I will play a bit more.

Amazing work!

Pixel Town by automatonvx 2017-05-03T10:05:30Z

Wow, this is really cool! Simple but nice graphics and very "chill" music. The game feels like a Sim-City-demake meets tower defense, I love it.

One thing: The creatures are just too cute, I don't want to kill them. :slight_frown: Still really good job!

DUCKTRON by neontropics 2017-05-03T10:19:46Z

Ducks are evil, now I know that for sure.

This game is really hard but also a lot of fun. My first two tries I just ran into a swarm of other ducks and got instantly killed.

The graphics and soundeffects are great. Both are really simple but they match together and the sfx actually made me laugh.

A simple but fun game, good job!

Tabletop Arena by tyranosaw 2017-05-01T15:19:55Z

I really like the gameplay. The combat feels good, the stabs have a nice weight to them. The music was really good as well. But the gameplay is the best thing about this game in my opinion.

I would love to see this with more different enemytypes. Variety is the only thing that's lacking a bit. Still a great and fun game!

Planetary Defense by pixlark 2017-05-04T14:49:00Z

A cool and challenging game. The graphics are simple but clean and it's instantly clear, what is what. The music was a bit too repetitive for my taste. But I like the simple gameplay and the challenge. One nitpick: I wish I could scroll around the planet with the keyboard. But still a fun little game!

Railroad to Hell by Ferminho 2017-05-10T18:54:20Z

I think there is a lot of potential for a fun beat-em-up-like game. I have two big problems with the game in its current state.

1.: The jumping. It feels a bit too floaty and should be more "snappy", giving the player character a bit more weight (or something like that).

2.: Right now it is too easy for the enemies to get me in a stunlock and it is very difficult to get out of it. The knockback is the main problem.

But I still had fun while playing it, the graphics are nice and the soundeffects were funny. I would love to see a post Ludum Dare version of this.

Snake On A Plane by spacedoubt 2017-05-01T10:29:57Z

Okay, first: The title:

10/10

Now the rest:

I like the idea with the different colors. It's a fun twist on a really old game. I also like the graphics (simple and clean and they match the music) and **especially** the music. It's really energetic and gets you pumped.

But I did have some problems with the camera. The view it gives you is not optimal for this kind of game. A bit more zoomed out would be enough (I think, maybe) to make the game more playable and controlable. Also, I can go on an neverending journey off the plane and into the darkest depths of oblivion.

But still, a fun little idea. I like the concept and apart from this bug above and the camera issue I think you did a good job.

Little Space by KevTukk 2017-04-25T21:25:17Z

@robstralia Thanks for playing! Yeah, these guys sit there way too often and way too long. :D

Little Space by KevTukk 2017-05-02T09:20:23Z

First of all: Thanks for playing to everyone so far! Good to hear that at least the concept I though up was good.

@neontropics: Hm, weird scrolling issue. Usually the scrolling is activated by moving the mouse to the bottom-edge or the top-edge. But I will look into it.

@wheerd: Read above about the scrolling, but you're right, I should have given the player keyboard controls for the scrolling. And a little GUI-element that tells the player why they can't build a new room should have been a no-brainer.

@automatonvx: Building out of line does not (or should not) impair anything. The only thing that matters to these guys are the ladders. As long as there is a ladder on their story, they can go anywhere they want because I made really stupid events.

@tyranosaw: Yes, I agree on the tutorial, but in the time I had I did not come up with a better idea. I would love to work on this game more, but I think I would want to start completely from scratch (because of some core-elements that don't work the way I want them to). And I don't know if I have the time for that.

Little Space by KevTukk 2017-05-03T21:02:22Z

@cheesymoo: I never stumbled upon this bug. It's really weird. But I'm still working on it. If you are on Windows, you could try the version you can download (just uploaded it). Otherwise... yeah, I'm trying my best, but I cannot explain it right now. :s

Little Space by KevTukk 2017-05-04T07:09:19Z

Hi @OccultOne! Thank you so much for playing this on stream.

And thanks for the crticism, you're absolutly right about the interface and the interception. The interception element and the asteroids were actually a last minute inclusion and I will definitely try to improve on that in the case I make a post-ludum-dare version.

Godly Corp. by Zeriver 2017-05-01T16:04:35Z

Such a fun (and funny) game! It really tests your multitasking capabilities. It took me a while till I got the hang of it.

The graphics are nice and it plays good. Also, I like the idea of cthulhu working in an office, overseeing all the planets.

I had no problems with the mouse control, but sometimes I wiped the bugs onto the planet, which was infuriating.

But I managed to beat the game and I had fun and a good laugh while doing it! Good job!

Dr. M Little's Planet Mass Overdrive by slimabob 2017-05-01T09:23:35Z

Cool Game. I really enjoyed the dialogues. You feel really powerful when you finally take entire planets with you. The 2d-Katamari-idea was executed very well. I think the planet could be a bit more "floaty", but that is pretty much the only thing I would criticise. But it's still a fun game. :)

It's a Small World by aviv871 2017-05-01T15:46:02Z

I'm still trying to beat this thing, but so far, I had fun.

The animation on the player character is really nice and soundeffects are okay. But i did not like the music. It's a very short loop and it gets old really fast.

Fortunatly the gameplay is still fun, although it is hard as nails.

This World Of Mine by Wizcas 2017-05-04T13:39:22Z

I like cats, I like this game. The voxel modelling is really cool. The "meow" is really cool. I like the stealth gameplay.

Just one thing: It's not always clear which way the cat will take when you click on one point. Most of the time it's ok but sometimes you get a bad surprise.

But still a fun and cute game.

Little Eco Planet by Wheerd 2017-05-01T09:48:57Z

This has a lot of potential. For the tutorial and one world I think it has just enough variety animal-wise. It also has a good amount of levels, but a lot of them don't last very long. Still I enjoyed it. I fun little puzzle game with a lot of potential (maybe more worlds with new animals in the future?)

I think I'm with everybody else on mouse control. But I could also imagine this being on touch devices. This is the kind of game I would love to play on android. :D

Cookie-World by Loktor 2017-05-10T19:50:47Z

Love it! Cute graphics, simple gameplay, the controls work, a really fun game. But the best thing about it are the soundeffects **OM NOM NOM**.

I really dont know what else to say. I really like it. Good job!

Way Out by Mutfak Studios 2017-05-04T13:25:28Z

A really well made game. The swordplay feels good and needs some timing to get it right. Soundeffects are basic but work well. And while I had fun with it, I still think that it's a bit too hard (or maybe I'm just bad at it, that's entirely possible).

Nonetheless a cool and fun game. Good job!

Chuck and Bull by CheesyMoo 2017-05-04T12:56:20Z

The graphics and music are both really nice, they set an interesting mood. Everything seemingly works as intended. I just wish there would be more to do.

But otherwise a very relaxing game. Unless you go for the booze. That means partytime. And the dueling banjos are way to funny for me.

Entropy by SleepyStudios 2017-05-10T19:04:41Z

This is a fun little tug-of-war. It's a really simple concept, I didn't miss a tutorial, the graphics are nice, especially the foliage, and the music was awesome as well. I would absolutely check out a post Ludum Dare version of this.

Stable Orbit by mrspeaker 2017-05-01T16:56:25Z

Fun little game! Took me a couple of minutes to get a stable orbit. The music is great!

Just one thing: The soundeffects should be a bit lower on volume. But I like the soundeffects themselves.

The Glass Marble Tour by icecheetah 2017-05-01T20:54:06Z

I agree with everybody else. It lacks interesting interactions, but the story was cute and I enjoyed the mood it sets.

And I would definitely check out a post ludum dare remake.

Spabullare by Chuck Zelvis 2017-05-10T19:15:35Z

Good sales pitch you got there! I always wanted to play something like that!

Seriously though, this is a really cool game. The controls are good, the goal is clear from the beginning, green is good, red is bad. I just wish I could shoot a bit faster.

Soundeffects would've really helped this game though, just a little blip or something when I get hit or I hit something else. But still a good entry, I really like it and I would play a post Ludum Dare version of this!

Limited Space by Vidinu 2017-05-10T18:42:20Z

This is a really cool idea, combining two different genres. I like the shoot-em-up part though it might be a bit to easy, but I absolutely love the resource management part. Still, both parts together create an interesting dynamic. Cool game!

Also I think the music is awesome, it really gets you pumped for the game and creates tension. And the graphics were nice too, it's always clear what is what.

One minor nitpick: It took me a few seconds to figure out what to do on the planets, the tutorial could be a bit more... "visible" (I only played the original LD version, but I will take a look at the new one later.)

Anyway, I had a lot of fun.

Destroyed by robstralia 2017-05-01T10:56:58Z

Well made, simple graphics, easy to understand, a fun little game. Even though hard mode is still evil, I had fun.

Also good game for destroying your mouse. :joy:

LD46 — Keep it alive

Crab nightmare 🦀 by Joystikman 2020-04-24T16:03:15Z

This is how I would want to die one day. During an intense battle with thousands of crabs. A fun game, really simple and easy to pick up. I love the graphics here and the few sounds fit with the style pretty well. I would love to fight a boss-crab. Is that possible?

The Remaining by Fenerax 2020-04-24T16:36:31Z

Low-poly graphics, my favourite! And they look really cool. And I like the selection of different creatures you need to fight. The sounds are basic but they fit well and the canons have a nice punch, I like that.

I just think the game is way to slow for a tower defense game. That might be on me because I am not a big fan of those, but if the enemies would spawn maybe a bit more often or maybe more in general, it would feel a lot better in my opinion.

But still, great job, the graphics are nice and the mechanics and the enemy-selection is solid!

STEM by Kaleido 2020-04-24T17:22:04Z

I did it, I did an evolve!

I like this game, it's like a biology-themed-TransportTycoon or something. The music was really nice and atmospheric, even though the track was a bit repetitiv. But I liked the idea with building multiple cells and needing to decide, where the cells would be most beneficial for you.

In the end I thought it was a bit tedious, but the concept kept me going. I would love to see what can be made by building on it.

Awesome!

Kings Orders by BookerBlueJay 2020-04-24T16:54:27Z

Great arcade game! The sounds were fitting and the graphics were awesome. I really liked the addition of the peasants as another obstacle. It makes the game more difficult and that's a good thing in my opinion. It's also pretty funny. I didn't know professional assassins used bats to kill their targets.

I love this one, great job!

Space Station Techie: Keepin' It Alive by Galactic Chimp 2020-04-24T16:12:54Z

The idea is awesome. And the game in this form is actually really tense, I like that a lot. It is a bit frustrating to get stuck on every wall, but I actually think removing that might make the game a bit too easy. The "physics" just need a bit more polish (I think movement is a bit too slow at the moment) and this would be awesome. Still, good job!

pestilentia by ATTX 2020-04-24T15:53:43Z

Fun little game! I love the Gameboy-style graphics and the idea behind this game, and it was fun, but I thought it was a little bit too easy. If you're down to one healthy person it's really easy to just trap that guy in a corner and nothing will happen to him. My favourite method for the first levels: Just kick them around with the logs. The gameplay is still fun though, it feels like a nice little sandbox. Music was fitting but a bit repetitive, could have used some additional bars.

All in all, cool game, I like it! Good job!
