Love the game, great and simple. Though it wasn't really that related to the theme, i enjoyed it. It was a bit hard to see the bullets.

Love the game, great and simple. Though it wasn't really that related to the theme, i enjoyed it. It was a bit hard to see the bullets.
Thanks for the notice, i have changed the download location and it should work now
I like the graphics, i was mixed between the 2d and 3d feel, great job. Although, i feel as if this didn't follow the theme that well and i was a little confused along the way. Maybe add some user information like text or add more story to the game. Other than that, i enjoyed it
I have read through the other comments and i agree, the game is a little slow but other than that, it is a well make clicker game. Well done
nice and funny game, i enjoyed it. Though after like 7 minutes of play, it did feel a little repetitive. Other than that, great work on the game
So far, this is the only thing that has cured my satisfaction, thanks. Props to you :)
Great concept. It got quite hard after a while. Um... not sure if it is a bug but sometimes a coin would spawn on top of the turrets. Anyway, great game
Wow, just wow. aww man this made me laugh quite a bit. Well done on making this in three days. Loved the graphics and humor to it. Great work
I love the whole game especially the graphics and music
I had great fun, i spent time trying to figure out what the wife wanted, couldn't do it. Anyway, the art is great and controls are smooth. The only thing i would wish was to be able to rotate the furniture. Other than that, it was a great game.
Great and simple game, got to wave 8 on my first go. It's fun, i reckon that it just needs a little but of balancing between how much insanity you get to the difficulty of the waves
Awesome, i felt like i was in the game. Not gonna lie i did sweat a little, but that's probably from my humid room. Any, i love it. almost all fives. Well done
Awesome Game, not sure if it is my computer (it had sound problems), but i cant here any audio (i guess that's why you ruled it out). Overall, it is a simple game that makes you think and i like that. props to you :)
Just loved messing with the kids. I know i'm a bad man
Game is nice, simple and slow paced (which i like). Though at some times, it does get kinda intense. Nice job
As simple as the game is, i love it. My record was 125.9 seconds. This is the type of game that i like to play.
If you ever consider to continue on this game and 'polish' it off then please do, would love to see it. Just to make the game FEEL better you could add particles, explosions or even some various different weapons and enemies.
I find that this video helps quite a bit in just adding the juice to the game to make it feel better. If you ever have the time, please consider to work on this. Good Luck :)! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg
First off, this game has serious potential. Even though you did do this for experimenting purposes, it has been done very well. Give this game a goal, a win state and a lose state. Not sure what that would be but if your able to pull it off, i can already imagine it to be awesome. Congratulations on the game, can't wait for the evolution!
First impressions, the graphics are awesome and the level progression is superb! Though I'm not really sure how it matches the theme. Maybe a little bit more polish would be very nice (a bit more particles or smoother animations). Other than that, it is a great game. Congratulations!
@canochaba Thanks, we forgot "Only One" even existed but now that you mention it i can see the similarities. And yea, the mage is quite difficult to play against, it requires a lot of timing.
@nervous-composers I guess we all should thank @fynzyme, he did an amazing job.
@nilead Yea, instead of literally doing a small world, we decided to make a fighting game on a coffee table. We also planned for more features such as combo attacks and more enemies. Unfortunately we did not have enough time to put this in.
@kevtukk Thanks for playing! We were definitely planning to add more enemies in the game but time and poor organisation skills didn't allow us to do so :pensive:
@antiwrapper Glad that you enjoyed the game. The part that was meant to be satisfying was when the attack did the sudden/quick stab. But now that you mention it, the time it takes for one attack is a tiny bit long.
First off, the art is amazing, couldn't asked for better. Though there isn't really much to do in the game, i was only able to login a fight a tiny group of enemies and that's it. There was the talk with the person but that lead to nothing. Never the less, what an incredible achievement to make in three days. Congratulations!
Love the game, played it with my cousins for a little while. The game play and sound are great but the game could use some little 'juice' to it. Things like a muzzle flash when you shoot, an impact effect for the bullet or maybe puff particles when you jump. The things that makes a game 'feel' better.
This is a good video to help understand the basics of 'juice'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg
Other than that, this is a great game, Congratulations!
A very nice game with a great concept, especially done in 2 days. A few things though, there could be a better tutorial, something with less text. A good tutorial gives the player an experience on how the game works, rather than just a paragraph of text. The other thing is the building system, i like how you have full control of building placement with the mouse. Except it gets a little 'janky' when you build. Also for better player experience, you should implement a way to tell the player that they don't have enough scrap to build or that the build area is obstructed.
Anyway, if you ever have time, please do more work on the game, polish it up and give it the juice it needs. Would love to see it! Good Luck :)!
Love the game! It is really well polished  Though when i started out it was quite difficult. But after about 5 minutes, i started to get the hang of it. My record is 29.6m. As for improvements on the game, maybe you could add some sort of highscore system or powerups/collectables in the game. That's it from me  Congratulations!
This is a great first entry! Though on my second entry i made a same mistake you have done here. There is no 'Tutorial' or some way to teach the player how to play. Not sure if you had enough time though but i do see that you have put the information required in the description. Sometimes people don't read that and just play the game. So when they play, they are confused and don't know how to play.
This is a good video on what makes a good tutorial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCPcn-Q5nKE
Maybe for the next Ludum Dare, scope smaller and give yourself time to do stuff like tutorials. Remember, think about the player. Congratulations on the game, Great Work!
This is an awesome little game. Wasn't very good at it though... My record is 9/30. I love the idea of it and its relation to the theme, Great! I might have a few ideas that you could add to the game. You could make the game a little more 'satisfying', maybe make the movement speed a little quicker (I know that rotating the right stick makes you faster, which is great, but maybe the base speed should increase a little) and also there could also be more bacteria produce for each cell. Basically maybe decreasing the difficulty. Yea, I'm pretty bad at the game. Well, Great game and Congratulations!
Great little game! It very much reminds me of agar.io. My highscore is 132. If you are ever going to work more on this game, then please do so. Maybe some extra time on the art, sound and balancing the game (For example, each stage is not as dramatic as the one before (longer game time)). Great work and Congratulations on the game, lets see the evolution!
A very nice game. Especially the fact that it is done in 3 days!
Though the game could do with some juice to it. For example, a muzzle flash on the gun when you shoot, bullet impact effect or a death effect for the enemies.
This video will be able to help understand the basics of "juice" (Whats makes a game 'feel' better). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg
This is your first time doing the Ludum Dare? if it is great work on the game. I have to say, it is a interesting concept. It is just that i don't find the controls that intuitive, to look up and down it is 'w' and 's' (why not just use the mouse to look around). When your making the game make sure you leave yourself enough time after you finish the basic game play mechanic. This is so that you can fix up any bugs and 'polish' the game. For example, a simple bug was that you can fall of the stage in the game, that is as simple as adding a barrier to stop players
Here's a good video to watch about game jams and how to polish a game. Hopefully it has some useful tips for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xfxx27HbM4
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg
Anyways, great work on the game and congratulations!
Ahhh, hits me right back to the undertale days. What a great game to make in 3 days, love it!
Incredible, not going to ruin the game but i really enjoyed it. The game did turn out to be a little bit blurry (If your using Unity, change the filter mode on the imported sprite to 'Point'). For three days, this game is awesome. I would have just wanted a fast forward button to speed up the text and that is pretty much it. Great Game!
I must say, the first thing i noticed when playing the game is the graphics and controls, just outstanding. Though the speed of the game is quite slow to be honest. Not knowing how the prison is laid out doesn't help either, had to die a few times trying to figure out where things were. Other than that, would love to see this game develop. Good Luck!
I have found that games are enjoyable because people like to learn and experience new events. That is why people say that it is fun for the first few minutes before it becomes a "routine". This game has a great start, beautiful idea and well made in two days.
If you are ever planning to continue this, then try adding new problems or goals that the player has to figure out and achieve. That's what makes a game fun. Good Luck :)!
Honestly, this is one of my favorite game made in the compo. Everything is well made and polish. All you can do for the game is add, add and add. Give this game more content. You can spawn in power ups that could allow you to repair faster, shoot with more damage or even make this a local multiplayer game. There's no other direction for this game other than UP. Great Work and Congratulations !
Really nice game, except it is not really not my cup of tea. I just played to the end of day 2. Not sure if it was going to change the longer you play but it would be cool if it was. For the cereal, i was able to get 11 point something but i will admit that i cheated and used a macro, sorry. Anyways it is a great game. Congratulations!
Wow, just wow. It an amazing game. Everything is awesome, the music, art and the game play, it's all good. Just can't believe this was created in three days! Anyway, all the feedback i got is just to add more to the game, more maps, more power ups, more particles, team score or even a server lobby system. Except this really isn't that necessary with the current game state. Only if you have enough free time, consider making this a fully fledged game. Congratulations and Good Luck :) !
The graphics are quite nice but the game play is lacking a little bit. A way to improve it could be more snappy movement (Faster movement and jump). The health on the turrets are a little low and there are a lot of enemies. Balance the game can really help in player experience. Hope this helps, Good Luck !
The concept is definitely there. The game works really well. But there could be a lot of polish added to it. Maybe some extra particles when you stole power or a trail that you leave behind. Whatever it is, don't add things that change the gameplay, instead add things that makes the game feel better.
Here is a video more about this topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg
All in all, Great Work and Congratulations!
This game is pretty good! At the start, i had no strategy. i flew as fast as i could to try and collect everything. That did not work. I figured it out in the end.
The game does need that 'learning curve', maybe have some sort of level system where each level gets progressively harder. But this will only solve the problem i had.
In general, maybe you should add some polish to it. Things such as some sort of jet particles for the shuttle or particles when you collect the crystals. These things don't change the gameplay of the game but instead makes it feel better.
Here is a video about this topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg
All in all, this is a great little game! Great work and Congratulations!
Well Done. Like you said, it is not completely done, but you can tell that a lot of work has gone into the making of it. I am not a very imaginative person, and this game requires quite a bit of it. I am more of the 'actiony' type of person. In my opinion, the gameplay is quite slow, but this is only my opinion. So in the gameplay aspect, nothing needs to be changed. As for the voice overs, i found it a little difficult to understand what the tutorial voice was saying but i eventually got the gist of it. Other than that, it really added personality to the game. Great work and congratulations!
Awesome little game! I was able to get 240. This game has all the necessities with all the sound, art and gameplay. The gameplay is absolutely fine, but there are a few things you could've added to make it look better. Not talking about the art, that's fine. But maybe some extra particles or 'scenery'. Maybe some clouds going through the background or an island? All in all, great game and congratulations!
Wow, this is a great game! The graphics are nice and simple and the gameplay is very easy to learn. Overall polish is clean, lovin the particles. My only pet peeve is that it is sometimes difficult to see bullets or ships at time since there is a lot of noise and movement on the screen, such as the stars in the background. Other than that, the game was very enjoyable to play.
Awesome game man! Had a lot of fun. Loving that bullet hell aspect of the game. Though i did find it a little difficult to see some of the bullets against the travelling stars. Maybe if the stars were a little fainter or there were just less of them. All in all, this is a great game. Good Job and Congratulations!
Awesome Game! I love it when someone gets a simple idea and completes it in a game jam. I still cant believe this was made in two days, TWO DAYS. Very well scoped, well done. The audio is great music is very catchy and the sound effects are quick and responsive. Lovin the art style, it is very cute! I've always loved this type of art, half of the reason why i partnered up with my friend. And i can see and appreciate the detail put into this game. The animation when the objects hit the ground, clouds that float by and the camera shake. Of course, this doesn't affect the gameplay but adding it in made the game feel so much better. Well done and Congratulations! (sorry for the long reply)
Great Game! Reminds me very much of Super Crate Box. Was that the inspiration? The squish and squash animations are great, maybe the landing one takes a tiny bit too long. The tower tower defense-esk mechanic really adds another level to the game. Through a pet peeve of mine is the fact that i die in one touch. For me, when i make some amount of progress, it is really dissatisfying to just die. Also, maybe start off the game with a lower difficulty. At the beginning, i really had a difficult time figuring out the game mechanics. All in all, good work and Congratulations!
This is a beautiful piece of work. It looks great and the controls are very snappy. Though, there are a few things that could be touched up. Firstly, the wall jump could be more reliable (the controls were a little awkward). Secondly, the hitbox of the spikes was a little unforgiving, especially when it is on top of a block and try to jump over it. I got stuck at the spikey level. All in all, great work and good luck!
A great and simple game! Lovin how you can come up with a small scope and create it in two days, TWO DAYS. It still blows my mind that people around the world can do this. Awesome Work!
Though there are a few things that this game can be worked on. First of all the SFX, it gets a little repetitive, especially when the sounds are played in rapid succession. Try randomizing the pitch when you play the sound, it makes the sound slightly different and it reduces repetitiveness.
Another thing that you can work on is the polish and feel of the game. Things such as adding a muzzle flash when you shoot, or when the "spikey shell" roams arond, it leaves a little dust particle. Small things that don't add to the gameplay but makes the game feel that much better.
Here's a video on that topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg
All in all, great work man. Hope this marks a great step in your game making career. Congrats!
Awesome game! A very clear example of the theme. Art is simple and clean, though it could have been improved if all art was created consistently. Instead of combining two different styles of art, try to be consistent with one style. All in all, this is a great game for your first time. This is a great step up for your learning curve, understand what went wrong and improve on it. Anyways, congratulations!
Damn, this game took me breathless! Anyways, this is a great game. It really did take me by surprise. Well done! Though, the game could have been polished a lot more. Adding the extra particles here and there or maybe a screen flash. Other than that, Great Game and Congratulations!
For your first LD, that is pretty damn good. There are a few problems though, first off the collision is a little bit awkward. Sometimes i would get stuck when it looked like i shouldn't have. Secondly, a little bit more polish could've been added to the game. Here is a talk about adding "juice" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg Another important thing to keep in mind is to always think from the players perspective. When you play-test your game, you know everything in the game. To a new player, he/she needs to learn everything. In this case, it was kind of difficult for me to understand how the game works from the beginning. I needed to try it out a few times before i got the gist of it.
Overall, this game marks a great learning step in your programming career. Learn from it, get feedback and make more games. Good Luck!
Amazing work for your first Ludum Dare! At the beginning, i was a little confused and dies a lot but i took me a couple of tries before i could beat the game. The art and sound is great and the gameplay is simple. Very well scoped.
Though a few things that i personally would have added. That extra amount of polish. Maybe you can add a smoke trail particle for the jets, it'll help with some extra amount of movement. Or instead of the enemies disappearing when they die, they could explode into lots of pieces. This is help with the feel of permanence. Though these things do not change the gameplay of the game. It changes how it feels, to play the game.
Here's video about this topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg
All in all, this is a great game. Especially for your first time participating in the Ludum Dare. Mark this is a great learning step onto your game making career. Congratulations!
Lovin the Game! First off, is is very simple. "Atom" follows the mouse, try to collect power, dodge flying enemies. Its the perfect idea for a ludum dare game. The gameplay is smooth and everything works really well. Though i do wish that you guys were able to polish off the game. Adding things like some sort of particle when picking up energy, maybe an animation when you use a power or a cool death animation. Nothing that changes the gameplay but things that adds to the game and makes it feel better.
If your not sure about this topic. Check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg
All in all, this is a great game, especially for your first time. Great job! Congratulations guys, hope you guys do well.
Heck of a job guys. Great Work! First off, i reckon the best thing about this game is the music. So much variety and they fit into the scenery really well. The art is awesome, especially with the immense amount of detail, like the sticky tape on the poster. Gameplay wise, maybe the movement could have been a little quicker or 'snappier' because the main part of the gameplay is the dialog system. So moving a little quicker helps with the flow of the game. Once again Great work guys and congratulations!
This is a great game! Love the graphics and gameplay. Though i feel as if your missing some particles to make the game feel better. It'll really help polish off the game. Polish doesn't change the gameplay, instead it makes the game feel better.
Here is a video about the topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg
All in all, this is a good little game! Great Job and Congratulations!
This game is great in its own right but there are a few problems with it. The game does not have that satisfaction when playing. For example, the mice just disappear (you could add in some sort death animation) or that the movement is too slow. It is never fun when you make progress in the game to end up back at the beginning and having to traverse all the way back to where you ended off. Other than that, it is a good game. Congratulations!
This game is awesome! Is has everything i would have wanted in a game. The gameplay is great and art is sleek and the sounds are crisp. The polish is also done very well in the game. Though as a new player, the only i would say is that it starts off too quickly and it is a little difficult to catch on. Maybe a more effective tutorial, something other than just text. All in all, Great work and Congratulations!
The game is great! You have the concept locked and loaded. Though it would have been much more immersive if it had a little bit of sounds. Even if it is a simple click sound when you press the button. Though what i did struggle with was trying to start the game. There was no real tutorial so i found it a little difficult to get progress. I eventually got it and won. I found that the gameplay was a little repetitive, placing the same buildings over and over again. The research building definitely help to break up this repetitiveness. Other than that, it was a great game. Congratulations!
This game is very fun simple game. The graphics are great and really effective. I especially like the transition between each day, it feels a lot more nicer than it would have if it didn't.
I understand that this was made in two days but there would be a couple things that i would've added. These things are just small details though, things such as sounds for the mouse (when hovering over buttons and selecting buttons, a clicking sound might've really worked). Another thing would be mouse hover information. Personally, i think that there should be a panel that pops up when you hover over the computer, shelf or door. Because honestly, i forgot that the shelf was an option until i started clicking all over the place. One last things was that i did feel that the game got a little repetitive after a little while, i got to a happiness of 250 then i felt like the same thing over and over again. Not sure what you could've add, as you said in your stream adding more things would have made the game much more complicated, which is true. Oooh, maybe when you click on the activity, you actually do the activity. but once again, only 2 days.
All in all, this is a great entry! Would love to see a built and evolved version of the game! Congrats!
This is an awesome little game. It has great polish to the game. Especially for a compo, this is an amazing entry. I really wish for you to continue work on the game. This game has really good potential. Im sure you already know this but you should add things such as sound effects and a graphical improvement. Even though the minimalism works really well and helps with Ludum Dares, if your ever going to work on the game consider having a graphics upgrade. All in all, i love this game, it fits right into my style. Congratulations!
This is a great little game. There graphics are great and the animations are on point. It works really well together. Though there was a few concerns that i have. First off, as people have mentioned, the controls are a little bit difficult. I understand that you might have chosen this design decision to add some difficulty but this 'mechanic' is something new. To a brand new player playing your game, they have never experienced this sort of controls. So to account for this, you should have a much slower difficulty progression. Start off very simple and gradually rise in difficulty. Your own game starts to become second nature when you spend almost a whole two days developing the game. So it then becomes a game fit for your own skill level, which is not good for a new player. So what i recommend is to playtest, playtest and playtest. Before release, show the game to family or friends to test it out. If they react negatively then edit the game accordingly. That's all i have to say now. All in all, this is a great game, it has huge potential. Congratulations!
This game is simply amazing. It feels and plays great. The animations are on point. The game was quite fun to play. Though it did come to a point where i filled up all of the spaces and i was left sitting there waiting for the game to end. If you ever plan to continue work on the game, which i hope you really do, you could include some sort of upgrade system or have new maps. Another thing you could add is even more polish, as great polish this game already has, a bit more can be added. Maybe a white flash when the enemy is hit and some screen shake. This game has huge potential. Anyways, this game is a huge achievement and is a great entry. Congratulations on it!
This is a nice little game, it has all of the main mechanics in it and works. But the satisfactory feeling is missing from the game. The Polish. To be honest, whilst playing the game, it felt a little empty. There were no particle effects, sound or screen shakes. There was always that missing feel to the game. If your ever considering to work on the game, please do. This game has so much potential, it just needs that tlc and elbow grease. While on the polish topic, here is a video of someone polishing the simple game of Breakout: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg
I really hope that you have learnt a few lessons from this and build on. Work on this game, make it look nicer (not just graphically but aesthetically). All in all, this game is a huge achievement. Congratulations!
This is a very fun simple puzzle game. This has got to be the game that i have spent the most time on trying to figure out puzzles and completing them. I just loved the satisfaction when i survived every level. This game is well polished feels very nice, the sound effects are well designed and the controls feel great. The learning curve of the game is superb, i learnt all the mechanics slowly an was able to learn at a steady and calm pace. Just a little hiccup (not to worry about) was that you seemed to sometimes get stuck moving across the edge/corners of blocks. All in all, this is a great game and is a huge achievement. Congratulations!
@hugmugi7 @brotherst @emery OMG, thank you for commenting you guys, i had no idea. Phew, the game should be up now.
I had a blast playing this game. The polish is very nice on this game. I found it a little odd, just a little bit, that there was a pixelated character in a very smooth 3d world. But i did find it very amusing that the characters had a ragdoll effect. Like in some of the other comments, it did take me a little time to learn how to play the game so adding a simple tutorial scene can really help a new player. It does not have to be complex (since the controls are simple), just something to inform the player. Other than that, i did have a really enjoyable time playing the game. Congratulations on the game, i hope to see an evolution on the game!
Astonishing game. Perfect scope and very well polished. Art is great and is a heck of a load of fun to play. Unfortunately, i couldn't get past the 40 mark, i'm not coordinated enough . There was however just one instance where i got too dizzy without even realising. I believe the balance bar was cover by one of the other progress bars. But other than that, this is an amazing game. If you have the chance, please work on this game. You guys would be doing everyone a great service. Congratulations!
This is a great start is an awesome game. Few things felt missing in the game, maybe adding that extra polish will remove the 'missing' feel. This is a great idea for a game, but maybe not for a Ludum Dare. Imagine the wonders if you had a week or even a month to work on a game with this idea. If you are ever going to continue work on the game, i would suggest some sort of upgrading system with the money you collect, maybe upgrades such as speed, harpoon damage/speed or more space to carry. As well as upgrades maybe adding more to the level, more to explore, because it feels as if you are restricted to a box of water. Other than that, it is a great game. Congrats!
This is an awesome little game, lovin the voices and how it ties into the game. I did find however that the movement when controlling the ship was really erratic. It was hard to do those fine movements. I just found it difficult to get into the orbit and most of the time i did, the orbit would just shoot me out in a direction getting me lost. When flying around, i did find myself lost a lot of the times and it got tedious to go back and forth to check the map. My intention was to press 'M' to check the map. If your ever planning to continue on this game, which i really hope you do, consider playing the game from a new player's perspective. Playtest the game, give to family and friends to see how they react with the game. If they react negatively edit the game accordingly. All in all, this is a great entry for the Ludum Dare. Congratulations!
This is a great humorous game, the bee definitely caught me by surprise. Though i did get stuck on level 2. I just couldn't figure it out. The hive wanted me to get 16 pollen, but by the time i got 16 pollen, i couldn't reach the hive. Not sure if this was intended but that's what happened to me.
Was this your first Ludum Dare? because this is an amazing product, just a few things that i would've liked to see (keep in mind, i do understand the time constraint). Some sort of simple tutorial to tell the player what is going on, nothing complex but something to inform the player what everything is. I was still stumped on what the red thing under the pollen counter was.
Another thing is polish. Polish is an essential to every game. If you every consider on further working on this game (btw, please do so), add polish to the game. This might include a sound when you 'transform' or a particle effect when you collect pollen or enter the hive. Here is a demonstration of someone adding polish to the simple game Breakout: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg
All in all, this is a great game and is a huge achievement. Congratulations guys!
This game is very relaxing and enjoyable to play. It was a little amusing thinking that a bucket with save your whole family. Anyways if your ever planning to work on this game there is a bit of house-keeping, the game is great at its playable state but i feel that there is something missing. I believe polishing the game will remove the 'missing' feel. Adding things such as particles or editing the movement to make it feel a lot nicer. Here is a video demonstrating polish on Breakout like game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg
Another small thing is that the player sort of catches itself when you hit the edge/corner of the hedge, this is unsatisfying. Try smoothing out the corners on the player collider. I'll stop rambling about, all in all, this is a great Ludum Dare game it has a good scope and is a massive achievement. Congratulations!
This is an awesome little game, i just couldn't stop myself from drinking, though doing so did punish me. There could have been a little bit more polish to the game to make it feel that much better. Anyways, i would love to see the game expanded and worked on. Congratulations on the game!
This is a nice little game. Is this your first Ludum Dare? The game was fun and it kept me busy fora good while. The game could use a bit more polish to make it feel that much better. Here's a video that can demonstrate that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg
If this was your first Ludum Dare, congratulations, but a bit of house-keeping first. I see a few comments saying that the game was a little difficult. This is a big consideration for when making the game, when you spend hours making your game, it starts to become second nature thus becoming 'easier'. To a new player, they are seeing the game for the first time so things such as the controls and the mechanics of the game will take time to get used to. That's why some may say it's hard. So playtest, give the game to family/friends to test it out, see what their response is and adjust the game accordingly. I'll stop rambling. This is a great game, would love to see the evolution of the game. Congratulations!
This is an awesome fun little game, everything feels great and is mostly polished. Actually spent a little while playing the game trying to get better, but i simply just suck. The tutorial was a very nice addition. Without it i would've just dropped the game immediately out of sheer clueless-ness (not a word but kinda makes sense).
Anyways the game did miss a couple of things though. Sound effects, this would've been a great addition to the game if you were able to pull this off, examples could have been sound when hitting shapes or sounds when hovering and selecting buttons (doesn't change any mechanics but would've made things feel better).
Another thing to consider would have been the difficulty curve. The game contains a lot of shapes to remember (to a new player), so the game becomes difficult very early which makes the game harder to learn/master. I made the same mistake in my past Ludum Dare for the game The Last Standing Sentinel (https://tyranosaw.itch.io/the-last-standing-sentinel). I got to used to the mechanics and the game became easy to me, so i designed the waves that seemed easy to me. What was easy to me was insanely difficult to a new player. That was the lesson that i learnt in that game and it should be one that you learn for this one as well.
All in all, this is a huge achievement, Congratulations!
WOW, just wow. This game is outstanding. The graphics are great and adorable and the polish of the game is clean. The gameplay of the game works really well. Unfortunately, i wasn't good at the game. i always failed when the second character came in. My brain and my fingers just couldn't cope . Anyways this is a great game, i hope you guys continue work on this game. Maybe add other little minigames. Other than that, this is just an awesome game. Congratulations!
This is a great little game, is this your first Ludum Dare? Anyways, the game is fun in it own right, it follows the theme really well and has that slight frustration but that satisfying reward of progression (like Getting Over It). If you ever wish to continue on this game, here are a couple of things i could recommend to you. Polish, polish is the one thing every game must have, it is what makes games feel good to control and play, everything in a polished game is satisfying. You could add things such as particles for when the player jumps or lands or sound effects for placing the barbs. Here's video demonstration of someone polishing the simple game of Breakout: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg The second thing to consider is controls and movement. Playtest, playtest and playtest. Before release, give the game to family and friends and give them a go. See how they react to the game, if it is in a negative way, edit the game. As one comment suggest from Emery "The movement was a bit hard to control".
All in all, this is an awesome game. Love the voice and the intro to the game was clean and smooth. Congratulations on the game!
This an adorable and cute little game. Everything works beautifully well and I thoroughly enjoyed it! You know what, it may not be the best looking game I've ever played but it is a game that was incredibly well. All there is to really do is just polish it and make it look and feel amazing.
Some criticisms: - The UI could be improved on. Eg. A better implementation of the text appearing? It could be nice to have a reset button aswell. - Would be nice to have a non-intrusive background. Just something to visually add to the game. - Would feel better if the art was more consistent. Not only in the pixel resolution but also in a stylistic point of view. It sorta feels like each art piece belongs in a different place. Maybe try restricting yourself to a colour palette?
All in all, this is a great game. You should be really proud of it!! Can't wait to see an updated version of the game. Congrats!!!
This is a great game, especially to have it done by yourself, awesome work man:smile:! This game has a lot of potential! Obviously, if you spent some time into it, this can become a quite popular and addicting game.
I see that you have spent time polishing the game, adding the footsteps, the hit effects and the camera shake. But there can be a lot more you can do. Polishing isn't just adding the small details to make the game look and feel better, it is also a way to make the game more fun. Try making the water bullets travel faster, have more enemies but with less health. After that, make the death of the drone explode in pieces and leave the pieces on the floor keeping the permanence. Then this will make it much more fun to kill the drones.
The point I'm trying to make is just to make everything as satisfying as possible. Bland games are boring to play. You've done very well, but there can be more. Congratulations man!
@LeReveur OMG! Thank you for the notice! It had nothing to do with you, apparently it has I who needed the glasses:nerd:. All downloads should be up now, even a web version:thumbsup:.
Man, what a great game for the jam. Personally, i am really not fond of spoopy games, and this game stepped the line to give me butterflies. Which made me more immersed in the game, which made it more fun .
Mechanically, the minigames were easy enough the play/control and finish. Even with zero instructions on how to play the controls were very intuitive and consistent.
The minigames were great for its own right, there could be a little polish to make them feel better.
I did find that first moving around my sensitivity was a little to high, it might've been my mouse settings but it was a little sensitive. And the movement speed was a tad quick, but i adjusted quickly and it was fine.
When i first joined and played the game, i looked at all the machines and was like "do i really have to play like 20 minigames", until i saw the coloured machine. Very nice touch. Implementing the rule of three's gave the game its balance. Not too little and not too many games.
Sound and audio was great. the ambient sound kept me on my toes and the chasing music gave me feedback on the 'ghost?' allowing me to know when the chase is done. If u had the time, adding extra sound effects would've been nice, like footsteps or the classic arcade machine control sound.
Hoped i helped with this comment. This is a very immersive and great game. I like it. Congratulations man!
