Superstar Knight by Seththefirst 2017-12-05T23:22:19Z

That was HILARIOUS. "do you have facebook" "Lava lamps 10$" Really really clever. i got a very good laugh. Definitely fits the theme. Unfortunately i found i had lag (might have just been my computer). I also didn't like how slow i moved and how long it took to get anywhere. Other than these things it was really really good. thank you for making it! :D

A Boy and His Card by sorlok 2017-12-06T11:06:57Z

This game is so so good! It's very difficult, i love the audo, i feel challenged yet i feel like it's my fault when i lose. i love the design and everything it's overall just so great. thank you so mych for making i!

A Boy and His Card by sorlok 2017-12-06T11:39:46Z

I may have figured out the trick to the game This hit did 1000 damage...

Black Hole Star by wowa 2017-12-05T09:25:48Z

I loved the little sounds effects given by all the dudes! Really well done on the mood, the theme, and everything. I gotta say, the sheer number of dudes scared me, even tho i am pretty sure they posed very little threat. Nice job on everything, really really really really really well done :D

EYAM by donvermo 2017-12-06T19:46:32Z

I enjoyed the spoopy tunes that came from the game. It's mood was impecible. From the name to the daunting plague, it was really well constructed. I felt the gameplay was inhibited by the lack of speed and the inacuracy of clicks. At the begining i really wanted to speed things up, so maybe add a fast forward feature. It would take me 3 or 4 clicks to actually select a plot, but asside from that it would feel better to just not have to click at all to see plot info by just displaying the info if the mouse is over the plot. When i then click the plot would be when i could start construction. These problems in game play were somewhat frustrating, but if they were resolved it could be a more polished game.

Definitely a good twitst on the town simulator idea- thank you for making the game :)

Dungeon Boy! by nardandas 2017-12-05T09:14:24Z

The music was hype. Very very good. I felt that the lack of visual indiciations of attacks inhibited my enjoyment of the game. I also feel that the lighting coming from beneath the player is a bit out of place. I appreciate the audio as an indication of interactions. Well done on all things sound. Overall good job :)

Ocean Explorer by Emery 2017-12-05T08:48:53Z

I love the first impression given by the opening. the music and the sharks are cute The audio got a little repetitive attacking the sharks was a cute touch. The mechanic of waiting for the air to fill up was rather frustrating- i would rather have had my tank fill fully the moment i touch the surface. Fits the theme well: the weight really did me in at the end as i ran out of air being pressed down by a shark. having to wait for the barb to reel in was agood limiting mechanic. Overall nice job!

THE LOST SON by pareidolia 2017-12-06T05:53:00Z

The mac build does not work :( i try opening it and it just says that it can't be opened.

The Cleaner by mateusculpo 2017-12-06T02:38:10Z

Great graphics! Cute idea for sure. I enjoyed the background music.

The stuggle i had with the game was that i wanted to move around faster and just couldn't. when i lost i didn't feel like it was because i didn't have good strategy (althought i develop better strategy so i know that did contribute), but when i lost it felt as thought the toxin levels were rising and were beyond my control, and as result i didn't feel as good about the game. When i go around picking up poop, i want to feel rewarded by seing the toxin levels fall a bit. Also, the only sound effect that felt out of place was the "gleh" because it seemed too harsh for the nice background music.

other than that i enjoyed it! thank you for making the game :D

Radical Relocation by mr-matt 2017-12-06T00:52:51Z

Very fun! i did find ways to hide luggage INSIDE the car tho- easy way of making the lugage not fall, untill i accidentally flipped the car over when placing a box under it xD

Screen Shot 2017-12-05 at 4.32.58 PM.png

Car was a little hard to controll, and putting the lugage in position felt a little tedious. But the graphic were stellar!! nice horn honk. 10/10 on the horn honk

Radical Relocation by mr-matt 2017-12-06T01:07:24Z

That definitely makes sense. I mean, the challenge of the car didn't feel unfair- i was just noting that it was in fact a challenge. It didn't feel bad tho. For the luggage, i would suggest mapping controls to arrow keys (or wasd) and then giving the player an up/down button because this might be much easier to control than use mouse and dragging by vectors.

It was definitely worth player and super fun. :)

Mortal Komba by kokirisandfriends 2017-12-05T09:30:27Z

Amazing audio and amazing art!!! nice job :D It was really difficult. but i kept playing for the sheer satisfaction that the audio and art were fun to look at

Barbing For Money by Britt Henderson 2017-12-05T10:55:35Z

@emery Thank you for that! i really appreciate the detail you put into that note! Why do you feel the stick figure is a con? I'm also gonna add a closing scene, but idk if i can showcase it here

@hollowspector: I'll get that within hte next 12 hours hopefully @hollowspector: up

@akirassasin: I'll try that. Thank you. Maybe i could also give it more cool down when you release the button, but i agree that it is a little difficult to control especially when you need to avoid landing on the barbs.

Barbing For Money by Britt Henderson 2017-12-10T02:45:01Z

@fluidvolt Thank you for the comment! There isn't currently a strategy, but i want to update it such that there will be!

Barbing For Money by Britt Henderson 2017-12-28T06:35:17Z

@tyranosaw thank you! ya it's my first. I agree that it needs a ton of polishing, so that video will come in handy for future design! thank you! :D

@johnbrynte Thank you! The original intent was to make it so that the barbs would fall off or hurt you if you collided with something, but given my implementation of how i made the barbs follow the player it proved very difficult and outside of the scope of a game jam game to get working correctly. So, i might go back and implement that.

@lilkrit I agree that the sliding was a bad design choice. I guess when i was testing it i was used to the slidiness, and others didn't tell me, but now i know and will watch out for that. I already fixed it and it feels a bit better, but I might need to fix it such that instead of using addforce i just set the velocity. Thank you for the comment tho!

@jjjjason Thank you! I will probably toy around with the gravity a bit more then. I'm glad the music had such a possitive effect xD I'm glad you enjoyed it!

The Jolly Journey of J.J.'s Jelly-Jamventure by TJ101010 2020-10-06T06:46:36Z

Really awesome :) i love the polish, and the music is so good! Really really well done.

The only suggestion i could make is to balance some of the sound effects a little bit. they are rather loud compared to the rest of the music (which i really like listening to). Super awesome job otherwise :)

Cookies Underground by Tom Kun 2021-04-29T01:08:56Z

Awesome Job :) This is a fun game. I feel like it was intuitive, i liked the art style, the music was great and the game was fun!! I think there are a couple opportunities to take the sharpen what you have even further:

Firstly, the music is really really awesome- it reminds me of FFVII to be honest. I like it a lot. I think balancing the volumes between things like steps and the voices could help with immersion a bit. Additionally adding cool sound effects for things like transforming into objects, untransforming, and a death sound maybe would help add some juice. Additionally, the music restarting every time i die broke the immersion a little bit, so it might be good to make the music run independent of the scene you're in (DoNotDestroyOnLoad() would help with this)

Secondly, in regards to game play - covering the same ground multiple times can be often frustrating for players. If i figure out how to get past one enemy and get stuck on another later in the level, i want to be able to zoom past the first and get to the second quicker. given this, i think some sort of run feature might be really helpful for making the gameplay even more solid.

These two things could help a lot, but i mean your game is really really awesome as is :) Thank you for making it- i enjoyed playing.

Afraid to Turn by rhoff95 2021-04-27T02:23:04Z

That was an AWESOME game!! I'm sweating! You nailed the autmosphere and the way the art of the character changed over time was so good. Took me a few tries to really get it, but man- Awesome job.

The only feedback i could give is just the controlls are a little hard on track pad. It might be worth it to make "throw" something like space when you're holding the right click- it was difficult to swap between moving with my left hand and then finding the control key when that's not a button i click super often.

Rreally really awesome job tho. Amazing game :)

I'm So Deep by liammasters 2021-04-26T23:20:27Z

The music and the walking anims were so good. And the poems made me laugh. But I didn't really understand what I was supposed to write... The one time I wrote a poem it was called trash, but whenever I wrote "Bleg Bleg Bleg Bleg Bleg Bleg Bleg Bleg Bleg Bleg Bleg Bleg Bleg Bleg Bleg Bleg Bleg" they said I was really really deep. And don't get me wrong- i know I am. That poem is refined af. But like, providing a tad more direction, or some sort of indication of what is and what isn't a good poem will help the player understand a bit better what to say and make the game more engaging!

My name ? by nyanpierre 2021-04-28T01:16:49Z

The puzzles here are really really brilliant! This is a really well done game :)

I think there's maybe two or three quality of life improvements that could be made that would take this to even the next level, such as adding in some user feedback on things like clicking the arrows between rooms.

Additionally, it's *really* good that you highlight what you can click on when mousing over something, but i think a better user experience would be giving the things you can click on a shader or something that changes colors even when you aren't mousing over it. I get how this could detract from the exploration of the game, but tbh i think the puzzle are a lot more interesting and i would rather be able to get directly into the puzzles without clicking on a ton of things every room to see what i can / can't interact with.

The only other thing is volume balancing- it was really startling when i opened the first safe because the sound was so much louder than the music. And when i changed houses between the dad to the son, it felt like it got a lot louder. That's really small and probably outside of the scope of a jam, but it goes a really really long way :)

Overall, incredible game. I love puzzles like these and the way you layed them out was really really clever (like the bugs for the safe code!!! really smart)

Lord Of The Flies by PixelPortalz 2021-04-27T03:27:11Z

This was an incredible game. The humor, the music, the game play are all so top notch- i had a ton of fun playing this :) Really excellent procedural generation too.

The only suggestion i have is two fold: 1) playing the game was so fun i didn't even wanna go to the end. i just loved getting more flies. To build on this, i think the power ups coulda been even more op bc there's nothing better than getting a busted build in a rougelike. I loved the +10 flies, clairvoyance, better poo collection, better attraction, and more fruitful flies- those are really excellent power ups. I wasn't sure what the laser power did or the stronger flies did, and i kinda wish i had gotten even more flies out of fruitful flies. Otherwise, really excellent mechanic

2) at the end, when i'm offer 1,000,000$ i tried clicking on it and nothing happened- it felt a little anti-climactic. so, i think an ending would make the game absolutely perfect.

Aside from these two, this is incredible. Absolutely amazing game :) Ty for making it

Deeper and Deeper in the Woods by Mizatorian 2021-04-26T23:29:45Z

Great job on the game :) The concept is very endearing. I like the nice intro and outro the game has and the music is great too! I think to take this game to the next level, there are two or three low hanging fruits you could add in: 1. A slightly longer game play loop (right now, it felt a tad jarring it was over in just one or two turns) 2. Right now, the game is simply two coin-flips and you win or lose. The mechanic for moving around the map is there- it has the opportunity to be developed more. What if there were things that made choosing between the left or the right more challenging and engaging? For example, a key you have to get to open a gate, or a pit that you can't fall into. These things would increase the engagement a lot 3. Juice! Giving moving some partical effects, or adding sounds for walking, or screenshake if you choose the wrong one. Something to enhance player feedback a little more for doing something - this goes a really long way for game development.

Really nice job :)

LD49 — Unstable

Gummi Bridges by Joel Davis 2021-10-14T05:23:14Z

I really really love the idea. Unfortunately i kept crashing the game... Idk how but the bridges i built were all really unstable and kept exploding - they stretched and spasmed out until the game just crashed on me. The simulation is really well done tho - and i really loved the art :)

Rolling Tower Clash by quadtree 2021-10-17T07:14:34Z

This was really fun!! Awesome job with the physics and the bots :) This was a really fantastic jam game. It took me some time to figure out the meta, but once i did i really really enjoyed it. Beat the game on hard with meteor

I think a couple things could maybe take this to the next level: First, if the game moved about twice as fast it'd be a lot more interesting to process and mess around with. If it took the robots less time to be close enough to punch each other, and if the punches were sped up (as they are now they feel slow and a bit unresponsive) the whole game would get a lot more oomph in the feeling. In general, more force and more acceleration feels better. Second, Audio is such an important point of the game - The background drums as they are set the mood in such a good way that it continued to make playing enjoyable. Awesome job on that sound :) If there was something to carry the rounds through each other, like cheering, a different drum beat, or a fanfare or something - it would make the whole game feel super super connected. Third, a shader or something around the robots to make it really clear to the player when it's about to tip over - something to flash red as it gets closer to danger just to give the player a bit more feedback.

None of these things mean the game isn't already really really amazing - this is honestly a very well done jam entry. So, thank you for making it - it was fun to play :)

Leave Me Alone by crazyrems 2021-10-17T23:04:17Z

Awesome job!!! The sound effects and the graphics were all so on point, this was pretty fun. The leaderboard was a really nice touch too - fantastic job :) Only one minor note: the buttons overlapped with the "would you like to post this on the leaderboard" if you are in full screenScreen Shot 2021-10-17 at 4.03.25 PM.png

Super small thing - the game as a whole was really well done :) Nice job!

Volcano BoB by obscure 2021-10-14T21:22:10Z

The audio on this was impeccable - you nailed the voicing and the sound effects and the mood. it was so good :D I loved that the art was consistent, the game play was easy to understand, and playing was fun :D I will say, it seemed a bit inconsistent on when the volcano exploded vs when it didn't - like the more i sacrificed the more it got angry. I understand i needed to sacrifice a certain number within the time limit, but it felt like all the sacrifices i *did* do weren't being rewarded at all. Seemed like the volcano should have been more appeased the more "oh no!"'s i heard (which were really funny btw. Again - amazing job on the sound effects).

This is an incredible first entry on LD. Really awesome job on making a fully cohesive game with sound, progression, and game play.

Server Preserver by kypello 2021-10-14T21:04:39Z

This was hilarious!!! "The servers are overheating!!! Feed them doughnuts!!!!!"

I love the concept and the implementation. Controlls were a little tough at first, but the fact that you provided sensitivity settings was amazing. Only things that could possibly be nitpicked were small juice things that could be added like balanced volume on sound effects or small trail renderers when objects are flying, more minor sound effects when things are thrown or hit things, or dust clouds or something when they hit or land, this was really really well done.

I loved how the servers bounced as they overheat, I love the modeling of all of the objects, the office space is really easy to get around and the fact that you can just jump on desks is hilarious. This is overall just a really well done game :) It was really fun. Well done :D

Tables & Tremors by SlimmerBurger 2021-10-17T07:33:35Z

Wow!!! really awesome job :) This is so fun, and creative. The sound, the game play, the puzzles - all of it is so top notch. I really enjoyed this.

One minor note - the death screen definitely sells it but man, the red hurts the eyes after a bit. Maybe finding a way to desaturate the color, or, instead of solid red put it transparent over the background and blurr it out so that the player still gets the good transition but isn't without retinas. Additionally, the dash is a bit hard to get used to at first - maybe a zoom out effect to really sell the player that they are going fast but still lets them get relative frame of where they are in the world?

Otherwise, this is a well done game. Really really fun. nice job :)

Frosty Wobble by Ghuyajil 2021-10-11T05:33:50Z

Fantastic game!! I really loved the music and the progression. It made the whole game super fun - made me feel like i was getting better and better the whole time. Really really well done :)

Just 3 quick peices of feedback: 1. Adding Cayote time to your jumps will make the platforming feel much much cleaner. Cayote time is where if you run off a platform and jump it still lets you jump. it's a short window of like a half a second or something, and it feels really good. 2. Perspective is really really important in a platformer (in terms of relational distance between objects), and it felt like because the camera was so tightly tied to the player i couldn't always get a perspective of where i was or where i was moving to. 3. When the player dies, it helps to have a small transition - even just waiting a brief second with a "oof" or a particle effect for the penguin disappearing makes a big difference. It gives the player a small breathing window to be able to process what just happened. Short respawn times are really good, but too short and it can be disorienting.

Otherwise, this was fantastic!! The music and the sound effects and the progression were so so good. Really well done :)

PS - found the egg

The Un-Stable Ranger by DaSpikeyBoss 2021-10-14T05:08:32Z

This game is really funny XD But man, these controls were difficult to master. Felt it fit the theme tho - it's a learning curve but the whole thing is this wacky fast paced fun experience. I loved that i could move so fast, even if figuring out how to move was difficult. This game was super super cute. Awesome job :)

Ropy Woply Doo by Jackaljk 2021-10-09T20:14:30Z

Dude.... you and i sound ... very similar. I'm a little spooked. I also voice my own music for games, so, like - massive respect. This is amazing!!! :D Really amazing game. The music made the whole experience! Simple game play made immersive because the atmosphere and the sounds were just incredible.

The only piece of feedback i have is that the progression of game play didn't quite make sense. When i fell, i started at an arbitrary point it felt. It would be more intuitive if i knew the check points i was passing - something as simple as text popping up saying "you've passed a checkpoint" so i get some bearings on how far i've come and how far i need to go still.

Other than this, it was really fun. Really well done - and nice job on the compo :)

LIFE|DEATH by Sockenpuppe 2021-10-17T23:12:27Z

Awesome job on the game - you nailed the atmosphere in the world building :) My one complaint is just that it wasn't immediately evident what was happening when i was using the vacuum - a sound effect or a suction graphic could go a really long way in giving good feedback to the player.

Nicely done on the world and the game play :)

SNOOZLE! by wedgiebee 2021-10-16T21:40:54Z

This is really really incredible. The mood and the music are insanely good. The puzzles are super fun too. Really really well done :) I don't entirely see how this relates to the theme, but other than that everything here is just so on point. The transitions, the game play, the motions and the controls - it's all really amazing. I think the only small piece of feedback that could I could give would be to give stars and things a dark outline so that the player can recognize them against the background and against the player when he is of that color. This is such a creative, cute, well done game. Really awesome job :)

Unstable Piles by nulldreams 2021-10-04T22:03:15Z

Ahhh - i figured it out. The trick is to spam click!!! You can tell you're creating a massive pile when your computer slows down 😁😁

Cute game :) Love the concept - good execution and awesome art!

It would be nice to have the retical move higher as my piles got higher - that way i can keep trying for the tallest tower!!! This was really cute tho - nicely done.

Unstable Profits by Pwnzer 2021-10-14T05:03:52Z

This is super awesome. Really well done - very fun game :) Even without extra features, just as is, this game is really fun.

I think the challenge is lost if i can make a profit without need to risk an imbalance of adding more plants. Because i was able to collect without adding too many more, it resulted in a bit of a clicker-esque experience. Having birds or something that throw off the imbalance, or doing something that motivates the player to add more plants (like, the cost of power ups increasing over time or something) would make me more motivated to take the risk of adding more plants.

Otherwise, this is a really really solid game. Well done :)

Dubious mushrooms by ocwal 2021-10-04T07:21:56Z

who knew balancing mushrooms could be so hard?!!! This is a really clever implementation of the theme - i really loved the music. It made retrying and retrying and retrying worth it because listening was so relaxing. The game play is very difficult - clearly has a learning curve. I liked that a lot. Whenever i messed up i knew it was something i could have avoided. Really solid.

I think a couple of things to note - SFX go a super super long way. Even if it's a stock crumple paper sound effect when you're planting a mushroom, or a bloop when clicking a button (just something to say when something happens) i feel that really really brings together the game in a profound way.

Otherwise, this game is awesome. Music slaps. Well done :)

Clowning Around by Casteled 2021-10-17T07:23:07Z

This is such a cute game. The animations, the spotlights and the way it followed, the flying objects, and the SOUND - it was all so polished!! Honestly, the audio was just so on point. The way the crowd would boo for not getting a new record, and the boing of the jump... really really well done. It all felt very good. Huge props on the ball movement and the spotlights - if there's just one piece of feedback is that's that the flying objects could be improved with some form of trail renderer on them, which will give a better understanding of the arc that they are flying on. Super minor thing, but it may make tracking all the objects feel even better.

All the same, this is super super well done. This game is awesome - nice job :)

We're Going Nuclear! by Ryan Winstead 2021-10-04T21:58:28Z

WOW!!! This is an AWESOME game!! The depth to it and the atmosphere is fantastic - i could play this for quite a while. I love the humor too :D

Perhaps i'm just bad at it, but the game was quite difficult. A lot of problems crept up very fast, and it seems to have a bit of a learning curve... at least, it was difficult to deal with everything as soon as there were problems. Is there a victory point, or is it just go until i eventually lose?

There are a couple of areas to juice things up - like when i am dragging things it'd be nice if it auto-snapped to where it should be. When the game is about balancing a ton of thigns at once, i don't want to be sitting there precisely trying to get a vial into an area. Same thing with the typing game - it took so long to type i felt like i had to stop playing the fun part of the game just to not lose the game... I do like the mini games, i think they could just be a little kinder.

All the same, this was really fun. Really really fantastic tutorial, and very good game play. Well done :)

Just a Minute by Britt Henderson 2022-10-03T19:01:32Z

Thank you @justabread and @wolforce for playing the game!! This is great feedback - I've added controls to the description and we're uploading a build later today that fixes a bug where the engine room wasn't clear (it should have been marked with an "E").

Ship The Sheep by pixelstuff 2023-05-06T22:04:27Z

Wonderful game - so so so cute. The world was so inviting, and the music was cute, and the art was a delight. Movement controlls were a little rough (haha) sometimes, getting stuck on rocks, or not being able to bark and move at the same time. SFX were great (adorable bark sound). Very cute idea. Well done ☺️

De-LIVE-ry by Supermango 2023-05-09T07:00:27Z

Well done! This is a great entry :) Fun creative take on the theme and a pun too - and the atmosphere of the game was spot on!!

A few game play things that may help guide design: - It's super super fun to throw packages at zombies - killing zombies in general is pretty fun, so it might be worth it to make ramming into things kill even tho it also does damage to the player (i liked seeing them fly) - Giving the player more information helps promote strategic action (the lights being on was really intuitive). Maybe indicated when packages can be picked up again, a mini map, or guiding arrows like mentioned above - all these would go a really long way (It is a game jam, so scope is limited, but something good to incorporate into design early is giving players more info through intuitive UI. - Sound effects go a really really really long way. Sound is often the biggest indicator that something happened. The package flying sound and the car driving sound were awesome - maybe sound to indicate when you take damage would also really helpful!

Fun game :) Well done again!
