LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Walls by Omiya Games 2021-05-02T19:03:36Z

Tried the webgl port. The puzzles look interesting, but it was quite buggy. I could drop thing (like the keys) on the other side of the locked door and had a hard time getting it back. Also threw my box somewhere inside the walls and then i couldn't climb up anymore. :(

You Killed Someone by RetroSpecter 2021-04-27T16:17:30Z

Liked the oblique twist on the theme, and that you had to be pretty good at lying. Ha ha. Good sound fx, but the typewrite was LOUD. Unfortunately, I didnt get away with it. :(

The Hookmarine by Elendow 2021-05-02T18:45:08Z

It looks like a good concept. but way too hard for me even on easy mode. I think maybe my computer was too slow, so the barrels didn't bounce very high at all. The sounds of the barrel hitting the rock were nice and the splashes too.

Extract Enterprise by gamezero 2021-05-02T19:13:07Z

aargh. 404 page, but the screenshots look really cool. Please update the link

Cavity Tycoon by Roberto Romao 2021-04-28T10:59:37Z

Interesting concept. Felt a bit like simcity in a tooth. Good effects such as when brushing etc.

DD-7 - Underwater Exploration by James Gillespie 2021-04-25T23:44:19Z

the graphics are great. I had a hard time maneuvering the drill though. Rotation was really tough and slow. Did not expect a whale

Deep Sea Diver by gimbalock 2021-04-26T00:40:21Z

Loved that it was easy for me to play. I dont like games with high difficulty. Lovely sounds and movement. First time hearing about Stencyl.

DeeperFall by Hengen 2021-04-28T13:39:37Z

Really cool and simple visuals, clean cut. Liked the music choice too. The color changes were appreciated.

Going Down by omer1615 2021-04-27T00:26:32Z

Nice use of the theme with the graph. The music was funky as well.

Air-O-Space by zoarfy 2021-05-07T09:18:15Z

With one hand on the mouse, and the other on the keyboard, the choice of P & Q letters is very weird. Too difficult to have two fingers on the keys. perhaps, Q and E might have made more sense. Got to 510 score. Thanks for making the game.

Coronings by ImtehQ 2021-05-02T19:38:55Z

Game concept loks interesting, but i found it difficult to tell where I was or what was going on. also the tutorial is not clear.

A Psychic's Interview by AronIngi 2021-05-01T22:57:34Z

Interview in the mind? sign me up. But Not really sure what to do with the monster, clicked until i (or it, im not sure) had no health left but couldn't do anything after that.

Nanna by gamebuilder 2021-05-14T16:49:49Z

The hand drawn graphics were a nice touch, and the background music is kinda appropriate. I wish there was a better indication of where the interaction points are, as basically I had to do arrow-space on every movement and go thru everything from one end to the other and back again. I liked that the whole thing is javascript.

The Root of All Evil by Eric Schmiel 2021-05-02T19:43:50Z

At least there is a WebGL "game" where you can push vegetables and rocks around. :) Hope to see you update it into something more tangible,

Ventil Of View by ArtoniX 2021-05-02T06:35:19Z

Took a while to get used to the mechanics, but it was fun after getting the hang of it. Kept forgetting where I was though and ended up back at the first room - ha ha.

Trek Through Billy by dk5000p 2021-04-27T11:48:33Z

Very nice voice over and the fileters? effects? on the other characters was good too. would wish for a longer story, but hey, its a weekend right? Thanks for the entertainment.

Deep Dungeon Tactics by Aditya Kumar 2021-05-02T07:13:17Z

Amazing that you did this with an engine you hadn't heard of. Liked the turn by turn game mechanic, I kept just the mage and blasted thru every enemy.

Bumpy Drilly by Paul-Maxime 2021-04-27T01:21:49Z

Addictive game, finally rescued the child! Very slow at the beginning though.

Deep to the Sky by MaximeG 2021-05-02T19:06:27Z

Where is the game? Do you have an incomplete version anywhere?

Derelict Dive by tetrapteryx 2021-04-27T17:06:39Z

Good and enjoyable game. Agree with other commenters that the objects are not differentiated, and the dark-on-dark background is difficult to see. also, for those of us with small screens, this is hard to play due to needing large vertical resolution. I only have a 1366x768 screen.

Bus Crawl by Valid 2021-04-26T00:56:20Z

A nice automation game. Buses broke down super frequently though. Need a way to zoom in, else, i got this mess happen :)Clipboard01.jpg

DO NOT INSERT INSIDE THE EAR CANAL!!! by cheesepencil 2021-04-26T00:35:14Z

That was fun. shooting things into the ear, and the oh so satifying "oh yeah"

Diary of Sedah by azagaya 2021-04-28T13:28:18Z

Nice game with a moody feel. THANKS so much for making an easy mode where i could skip levels, after trying them. I appreciate that so much. Likes that as the game progresses, you are introduced to more stuff.

The Deepest Dungeon by Susumu Asaga 2021-04-27T15:44:55Z

Enjoyed this clicker game. The creatures don't fight though. Got me some retro vibes and 8 bit music.

Lambda by YellowKamel 2021-04-30T15:12:28Z

Nice fun game (for a unix nerd). For others, it might be too geeky... Loved the puzzles and the pseudo terminal you have implemented. PS: the 3D at the start eats up too much resources

Down the Rat Hole by Guardaro 2021-04-27T16:00:05Z

Your own voice for the music? Creepy but fits the mood. I'm not sure where the dialog is. Perhaps i didn't go deep enough. Found the spikes super annoying and unable to avoid.

Radication by squimmy 2021-04-26T00:28:14Z

Spent too much time on this game, figuring out the possibilities. Sometimes the arrow and tick does not appear.

Grave Mistake by mcbloch 2021-05-02T19:48:20Z

Not sure what to do. The graphics and audio were nice.

Gone Diggin' by XeduR 2021-04-26T01:31:25Z

Seemed the world wasnt deep, but once you get deeper, liked the way you implemented infinite depths. Music was good, and the game is fast paced, fast to die, as you need a ton of gold

Hole Down by Seeko Studios 2021-04-28T13:33:11Z

Unfortunately I couldn't play the game as it was too big to fit my screen (1366x768). Gave me Dilbert vibes, hence I wanted to play it. Does the game scale to the screen size on the Windows version. If so, I mage give it another try.

It's Nice Down There by TheJonu 2021-04-27T16:42:12Z

Was a bit too difficult for me. Where's the easy mode? Couldn't even get past the cat. Now I know why i dont play platformers. Muhahahaha. The mood of the game was really good, with the glitches, eerie music and sounds. Creepy... Cant believe you did that during one weekend.

Spellunker by Naamed 2021-04-28T13:16:15Z

It has nice graphics and decent sound. The gameplay was reasonably simple, though I still thik it could be simpler for people like me who dont like platformers (an easy mode would be appreciated). Overall, I think this is a great game for a weekend job.

Seven by Str8griz 2021-04-28T09:52:31Z

Nice music, and the graphics were ok. Liked the title screen better though. Yeah I think th ewalking aound was unnecessary and the interface was clunky. You could use keyboard for everything, or mouse for everything. Switching between the two was troublesome.

Descend by DevParty 2021-04-27T11:59:34Z

Didn't reach the end yet, cos i kept dying at the third level. But enjoyable nevertheless. Music was ok but a bit repetitive. Thanks for making the game.

Dungeons and Caves by Dizabanik 2021-05-02T19:11:00Z

so I am that little cloud with a gun? ok, lets shoot em up. 0.5 mins later - oh no i died. The corridoors are quite narrow and the bullets change direction halfway which ain't so cool.

Oceanwork by Warrrkus 2021-05-02T22:42:27Z

This is a very impressive game, and done in godot no less. i'm just starting to do my 2nd game in godot, so hope to be able to get to this level sooner than later. Did not like the grinding needed at the start. It might be too long to play for a jam game. Thanks

Reach That Point by Dmitry Mozgin 2021-05-01T22:35:14Z

The concept was good, and i think you handled the rope mechanics pretty well. First level was way too hard. The springiness of the rope was very hard to master. Also, the limited view of the game map hinders any logical movement. game was too big for my small laptop screen (1366x768)

Deeper and Deepar (Now on Itch.io !) by KingBlop 2021-05-07T09:49:50Z

A really fun game. Reaction time was very fast though. especially after the "Books cant die" statement. Died there many times. ha ha. Had a lot of laughs.

I'm So Deep by liammasters 2021-04-25T23:49:58Z

What? I died in the trash bin so early on. What am i doing wrong? Graphics was cute, and guy animation was funny (and blocky)

Dive & Dig by andrewkennedy 2021-04-27T16:34:28Z

I'm guessing this is made in unity? I couldn't really tell from the git files. Oh the first part was the tutorial? I didnt know that. Felt like someone constantly interrupting you. As for the game itself, it was good fun. Some comments I have - why the water doesn't rush into the right side? The temp keeps going up even if i don't drill anything. There might be a bug, clicking in some cases doesnt drill/move. just gets stuck in the rock.

Get Down Mr. Lucifer! by Trungler 2021-04-28T08:48:10Z

The game felt good, though it had some weird controls, and too many of them. Mood was great. I don't usually play platformers, due to them being difficult for me (no dexterity) and this was no exception. But it looks like it would have been fun.

Vulcan's Tomb by Simul 2021-04-27T16:04:01Z

Hi there, you didnt state what kind of platform this runs on? I suppose it is windows, but its not clear anywhere.

knight survive by ramtyni 2021-05-02T19:21:49Z

I guess the game is incomplete. Only 2 blocks for me to kill ?

Depths of the Deep by Panacea 2021-04-25T23:37:08Z

This is deeply punny. Didn't get the Madonna reference though.

Depths of the Deep by Panacea 2021-04-25T23:56:59Z

@panacea. Thanks, I knew i was missing something :)

Eye will see you down there by vegmuffin 2021-04-25T23:31:54Z

I got to ground level 132. Sound was nice, the "froggie" sounds didn't seem to any reason for sounding. Some of the eyes actually stopped and had a staring contest with each other.

She Waits Below by AbigailCorfman 2021-04-27T00:58:28Z

Wow a difficult game for the jam. I had a hard time and gave up half way. Cheat mode please?

She Waits Below by AbigailCorfman 2021-04-28T07:43:15Z

@abigailcorfman Thanks for the hints. They helped a lot. But now, after going down th eweb and climbing, i went into the main menu/options, and then i couldn't resume the game. Load shows all unsaved games, so i could not resume.

How Deep is Your Love by Bruno Cafe 2021-05-02T06:50:40Z

Oh oh, the surprise at the end. Good gameplay and loved the gfx, especially the 3D on 2D asthetic.

The Reapers Course by Pepper Boi 2021-04-27T16:53:32Z

Finally a platformer I thought I could beat, no enemies hurrah. That was short lived when the grim reaper sent me down again :( Nice music and animation. Loved the skipping animation

Deeper and Deeper in the Woods by Mizatorian 2021-04-26T23:53:50Z

Thanks for all the comments. Did not expect to get so many so fast. I uploaded a bit early just to make sure i dont get stuck with upload problems. I have uploaded a slightly longer game now

@britt-henderson Thanks for your feedback. Those were all things I wanted to do, but ran out of time. We had already designed the key assets and the flower was supposed to be interactable, but alas, not enough time.

Deeper and Deeper in the Woods by Mizatorian 2021-04-27T01:45:08Z

Thanks @Kszaku @DevParty @Guardaro @Simul @dk5000p for the feedback and suggestions. 1) My second game with Godot and I was a bit more ambitious. However my knowledge of the engine really let me down. I had to google a lot of things and mish-mash stuff together to work 2) The debugging was a nightmare. Not knowing why things weren't working was bad, plus I had weird glitches that I couldn't explain. 3) Sound as a game mechanic was suggested by my designer, The fallback was to show a correct/incorrect equation, which would have been a bit more lame 4) Game is super short due to all the debugging headaches, Originally intended for 5 levels, with keys to unlock the gate and flowers to collect for grandma.

Deeper and Deeper in the Woods by Mizatorian 2021-04-27T22:34:32Z

@cheesypencil yep. Wolfram for the win!, we definitely had fun and sleepless nights making it @tetrapteryx Yeah, I will probably update this to include more stuff, suggestions from fellow LDers and my own wishlist

@andrewkennedy Oh, I'm not sure what happened there. Its supposed to slow down when you get near a gate and then play the sound. I find the sound in the Web version to be a bit choppy. The exe works better.

Deeper and Deeper in the Woods by Mizatorian 2021-04-30T13:12:14Z

Thanks @hcs-hades @thegamer1123211 for the supportive comments

@jonathan-turner Yes, it needs more obstacles and a puzzle mechanic. Didnt have time to do it due to debugging the game. Maybe later

@pat-cleaver Good idea, i need more gates and in different positions too

@eryn Sorry, ran out of time, so have to make do with 4 levels for now. I plan on adding more levels and mechanics

@boxedmeatrevolution Thanks, I had fun making the game and the sfx

@samazki You go deeper and deeper into the forest? Was all i could think of (that i could possible make in a weekend) that wasn't a driller or a diver.

@damagefilter Thanks for the ideas, yes, there are a lot of ways to take this forward, and i do plan on completing this game a bit more (maybe 15 levels or so)

Deeper and Deeper in the Woods by Mizatorian 2021-05-01T12:40:24Z

Thanks @justcamh I had a blast watching you live, and the feedback was useful as I did not do any user testing beforehand (oops). Send my regards to your brother too.

Deeper and Deeper in the Woods by Mizatorian 2021-05-02T06:28:37Z

@tanner-shelton @link270 @1minatur Thanks for playing. Watching 3 persons play the game at the same time was a new experience. Each Screen was a bit small though, considering i'm watching on a 1366x768 screen anyway. I do plan on taking the game further, after the jam.

Deeper and Deeper in the Woods by Mizatorian 2021-05-07T09:06:11Z

@dmitry-mozgin @zoarfy As it was my first non-tutorial game i made in Godot, I made a lot of mistakes and the bugs took up a lot of time to debug Am refactoring the code so it works better and then will releae a V2.0 with the fixes and enhancements. Thanks for the feedback.

Deeper and Deeper in the Woods by Mizatorian 2021-05-13T17:19:53Z

Thanks @gustavo-christino for playing and giving such extensive feedback. I will take this into account in this game and in future games

Thanks @jonrei, I had fun making the sfx

Deeper and Deeper in the Woods by Mizatorian 2021-05-14T16:54:54Z

@gamebuilder @omiya-games Thanks for giving the game a go. I do admit I spent way too much time on debugging issues with the game-engine and a bit less though on the game level designs. The triviality and length is due to the short time left and just getting a playable and reasonably non-buggy version out before the time limit.

Fall'em Down by Yoshiip 2021-05-02T22:02:02Z

230m only, was a difficult game. Thanks for making it
