LD45 — Start with nothing

Nothing+Nothing= by Azargaz 2019-10-08T20:23:58Z

I gave it my best shot for five minutes, but I just couldn't figure out what to do with the "no thing" and thus stayed on the black screen of despair forever. Not sure whether there are technical issues or if I'm just missing something? I like the graphics in the screenshots.

VELOCE by torfi 2019-10-08T19:47:34Z

Super fun game! Very simple yet surprisingly challenging. The music started off fun, but got a bit annoying after a few playthroughs. I enjoyed the constantly updating enemies and projectile types. Good stuff!

NoWastelandCreationIntended by kruemelkeksfan 2019-10-08T14:08:51Z

I love the graphics and concept. Very neat!

NoWastelandCreationIntended by kruemelkeksfan 2019-10-08T14:09:16Z

Also, I noticed a lot of those planets are nearly tidally locked. Rough times, indeed.

Solar System Clicker - Browser game by lanz611 2019-10-08T21:20:11Z

Interesting physics. Also, are the planets emitting particles over time? If so, what effect does that have?

Blind by ukirain 2019-10-08T13:54:32Z

Interesting concept and great art. I did have some issues with the character convulsing left and right once stopped.

Hide It / Break It / Pay It by Raivk 2019-10-08T13:48:08Z

I really enjoyed this one! Clever concept and fun.

Boltzmann by Hermitao 2019-10-09T02:03:10Z

Satisfying and beautiful! I had a heck of a time getting a bomb to orbit a star though.

In the Beginning by shadow30 2019-10-08T21:34:00Z

Fun dead reckoning type game play. One of the best I've played so far!

42LD45_Blank by sgalasso 2019-10-08T19:59:44Z

I actually finished a game! I guess I can mark this one off my Steam backlog. But really, this was fun. It was a solid premise. Just needs more scissors.

Nothing Everything by James Beninger 2019-10-09T01:50:24Z

I worked hard to finish this one. Not so for most.

The Reader's Encounter by xlomid 2019-10-08T12:26:43Z

Nice idea. The music does a great job setting the mood.

Protoplanet by Guardaro 2019-10-08T13:37:53Z

Unfortunately, the background was one of those things we ran out of time on. I appreciate the feedback, everyone!

Desert Tiles by Wubbl 2019-10-08T19:47:38Z

The intro, I thought, was very thoughtful.

Super Goat Life by Olivier argentieri 2019-10-08T20:21:45Z

After I got the cape and sprint, I climbed to the top of the outer hills and jumped off the edge of the world. 10/10.

LD46 — Keep it alive

Party Killer by Brackeys 2020-04-21T14:28:56Z

Best visuals I've seen so far in the jam! Really, really well polished. My wife and I liked trying to hit each other with trick shots off of the walls! I'd like to see some sort of end point--maybe the first player to 10 points is the overall winner?

Little Light Of Mine by dracominer 2020-04-23T22:27:11Z

Mood is really good! I'm a fan of Don't Starve, and this definitely had some similar gameplay. I did level 1 and thought "this seems really easy... is this really the whole game?" I then skipped to level 5 and had a very different experience!

The slow character movement was a bit frustrating, but I suppose it's almost required for a game like this.

For Seraphina by Herrybiscuit 2020-04-24T17:53:57Z

You definitely captured a distinct mood with this one. I like that this explores different territory of what games can be used for; they needn't always be about fun and excitement. One note on the music: Kevin Macleod has very specific requirements for how to give credit for his work, so you may want to take a look at his website and adjust your game description accordingly. I've used his songs for many projects, so I'm pretty familiar with the process!

For Seraphina by Herrybiscuit 2020-04-24T19:34:40Z

@herrybiscuit My bad--I didn't realize at first that "Relaxing Piano Music" was actually the name of the track!

Wayward by ColeSlaughter 2020-04-22T01:06:59Z

Very interesting! Full marks for innovation. I don't know if I would call it a "game" so much as an "experience", but it's really cool! The music gave me weird vibes of hearing recordings played backwards... kind of eerie and unsettling. The moment at the end that reveals your entire path is brilliant!

Mutiny by Cataractar 2020-04-22T17:17:22Z

Fun concept! Reminds me a bit of FTL. I found that the biggest issue I ran into was determining which morale bar went with which pirate. You might consider color coding the pirates or putting each pirate's indicator right next to him as he moves from station to station.

Mutiny by Cataractar 2020-04-22T18:15:57Z

@pilarius Holy moly... I went back and played it again, and there they are! I think that I was watching the big bars on the left-hand side so closely that I missed them.

Eat it by Oune 2020-04-22T00:23:35Z

I like the simple controls! Very nice graphics. Wasn't crazy about the repetitive audio. Nice submission!

Overly Fragile Relationships by vilix64 2020-04-24T16:30:50Z

Very interesting idea! The consequences of my decisions seemed very realistic. The UI was a bit tricky at first; I couldn't find any visible indicator of who I had already invited.

tyle by jordantanner 2020-04-24T01:31:09Z

Very polished! One of the most aesthetically pleasing games that I've seen in the jam. I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only person in the jam to include a leaderboard!

The big plant protection programme by Badduck 2020-04-21T14:44:57Z

Very nice! A solid implementation of a classic tower defense game. I had some issues with the buttons on your itch.io page; clicking on buttons on the start menu would actually trigger the buttons lower down on the screen! It seemed to be fine in the actual game, though. I also couldn't see the shop at all until I maximized the game. Good entry!

Neighbor - a spooky pixel adventure by kristinamay 2020-04-21T03:42:02Z

Very nice! The shifts in music at different stages were very effective. A couple of glitches: at the very beginning the text was TINY and unreadable, and when Mike was in the tavern I was still able to get his dialogue in front of his house even though his graphic wasn't there. Great atmosphere!

To the Moon and Back... by ETdoFresh 2020-04-21T03:02:17Z

Very interesting idea! This is a pretty ambitious project for a weekend-long jam.

In A Game Wherein by SSStormy 2020-04-24T01:23:49Z

Ugh, fine, I'll finish my game. Happy now?

The Gumbo Garden by Guardaro 2020-04-21T20:30:54Z

@xenith @lucisaurus Yeah, restarting was on the list of features that I just didn't have time to implement. Thanks for the feedback!

The Gumbo Garden by Guardaro 2020-04-22T12:41:20Z

@dummydojo This is some great feedback! I appreciate it.

The Gumbo Garden by Guardaro 2020-04-23T21:55:52Z

Hi Walkalope! I was watching your stream but didn't have a Twitch account yet so I couldn't comment. I sent the link to the video to the rest of my team--they got a real kick out of it! Thanks for playing, and thanks for the feedback! @walkalope

Turtle Daddy by dummydojo 2020-04-24T16:38:43Z

One of the best I've seen so far! The art is really impressive for a three-day jam. I love the design of the player character! The music had some high energy, but it got annoying fairly quickly. Good stuff!

Bloody Musician by Filip Volf 2020-04-22T18:27:56Z

Some really cool stuff here! The graphics are a lot of fun, and I enjoyed the bagpipe music. I died a couple of times without knowing why; I thought that I was being pretty accurate with the notes? One challenge for me was that the computer keyboard keys moved in the opposite direction of keys on a piano (I would expect to press A for the lowest note and S for the next note up); as a piano player this threw me off a bit!

a funeral. by otterdisgrace 2020-04-23T22:05:09Z

Mood was really good, and the click-to-move controls worked well. Each time I played I ran into a bug at some point where the player would switch to the "holding a log" animation but not actually pick up the log; this prevented me from picking up any other logs, and so I had to watch the fire slowly die. Sadness.

House Party! by HyperBabyDuck 2020-04-21T03:25:17Z

This is pretty polished! Very nice work on the graphics, and the controls feel nice. It seemed a bit too easy; I didn't have any problem finishing once I figured out the mechanics. I would recommending changing the game window size on your itch.io settings page to fit the entire game without going into full screen mode. Nice submission!

Captain Bean and lil Jalapeño by Tsamf 2020-04-21T03:10:51Z

I would add some notes about the controls here on your submission page.

Keep it Lit by canonicalfunctor 2020-04-22T18:36:50Z

I like the lighting effect! It gave the game a nice ambience. I think that more in the way of instructions would be useful; it was hard to tell what I was being asked to accomplish.

My Mother is a Caravan? by Gideonnf 2020-04-22T17:09:54Z

Very nice! This is an impressive amount of content for one weekend. The art and music are good, and the concept is silly but fun. I noticed that there were some times when I couldn't walk through an entry that looked like it should have been open; I wasn't sure whether or not this was intentional.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Emile's Journey by qui 2020-10-05T17:36:26Z

Wonderful! This is an incredible amount of polish for a jam game. Beautiful art, beautiful music, excellent vibe overall. I was a bit confused about how to make progress at first (I was just clicking each icon until something happened), but honestly I think that putting in overt instructions would throw off the experience--I think that your team made the right choice here. Reminds me a bit of Gorogoa.

Pufferfish Panic : Proliferating Pressure by Teanan 2020-10-11T22:04:50Z

The year is 2021. The scientists tried to warn us, but we ignored them. I don't know how much time I have left. I hear them at the doors. The sky is gone; the trees are gone; the world is gone. All that remains is pufferfish.

Escape From Rotting Town by Jonathan Lorenz 2020-10-05T23:36:48Z

Overscoping happens! It's a good learning experience. I'm glad that you went ahead and submitted anyway; you've got the beginnings of something good here.

The music set a really good tone; I'm not sure what soundtrack I would expect for a game where a construction worker punches cultists, but now I can't think of any other one!

You mentioned that you're going to do some bug fixing; the two biggest things for me were the fact that the y-axis was inverted for me (might just be my brand of controller? I haven't had the issue with other jam games, though) and the music wasn't set to loop--it stopped playing while I was mid-punch on the third cultist.

Tunnel Racer by Killian 2020-10-11T12:53:23Z

Fantastic visuals! This was a real treat. Obviously this wouldn't be the way to go for a jam, but a VR version would be amazing. The controls were nice and responsive, too.

The main thing I'm missing is some replayability. A timer to see how long your run is would be nice, and maybe something that increases the difficulty, whether that is additional hazards or increased speed.

Nice work! I'll be checking this one out again.

Escape from Arachnea! by Guardaro 2020-10-05T17:41:31Z

@zypo So, you dare to knock me off the top of the leaderboard and then come in here to brag?

JK--Congratulations, dude! You've got brutal reflexes and mouse skills. I'm glad that you had fun.

Escape from Arachnea! by Guardaro 2020-10-06T17:49:02Z

So, @arthurds... about that...

Escape from Arachnea! by Guardaro 2020-10-14T18:55:32Z

Thanks for playing, @ursagames! Sorry that I couldn't catch it during your stream, but I hope that you had fun!

Run a circle by SkelleRoznik 2020-10-05T18:25:14Z

Very nice! Very simple to understand, but surprisingly challenging. I like the color palette.

Quarantine Routine by Almartmen 2020-10-05T17:08:40Z

I survived for 5 days! I think that grocery shopping singlehandedly did me in. I enjoyed it the most, but the difficulty ramps up pretty quickly on subsequent days.

I love the variety. It's amazing that you were able to finish all of this in one weekend! The controls for each minigame were nice and intuitive.

Back And Forth by Kisk 2020-10-05T19:28:18Z

Brooooo... I didn't know Brackeys was done until I played your game. Bummer. Good for him, though; hopefully he finds some awesome stuff that he loves to do.

This game was tons of fun and put together very well. The music was simple but pleasant, there were a lot of interesting interactions between the puzzle pieces, and the graphics fit well. It was a bit annoying to have all of my progress on a puzzle reset when the guy *just barely* touches a gear, but a checkpoint system is probably a bit much to ask for in a weekend-long jam :)

Beelieve by Diego Teran 2020-10-07T01:16:52Z

Great graphics! I like the wiggly web effect quite a bit, and having real-time puzzles was a really interesting concept. I was amazed by how much anxiety I felt for a pixelated bee! The only thing that I'm missing is a bit of music; something simple (even some ambient nature sounds) would have gone a long way.

I had to check your game out because we both went with a spider theme, but in mine the player takes a bit more of an active role in fighting them off ;)

Lonely Blob by SinusQuell 2020-10-07T17:08:35Z

Very nice! I enjoyed all of the surprises. The music was great, and the bloom effect was nice. The only thing that I was missing was some sound effects. Also, squirrels are alright.

Super Sushi Circuit by Tayo 2020-10-05T16:51:06Z

Wonderful graphics and music! The bouncing sushi animation was also especially fun. It took me a few tries to understand what I needed to do, even after reading the directions. Nice entry!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

They Hear You by SakuH 2021-04-26T23:20:30Z

Really nice! The graphics are simple but clean, the music is great, the sound effects adequate, the compass and glowy lights are really well executed. The gameplay seemed really simple until the meter filled up, and then I died consistently XD. Nice submission!

Seven by Str8griz 2021-04-26T23:36:14Z

Nice submission! I love the premise; being able to talk to the victims was a very interesting idea. I liked the variety of suspects, too.

Brain Dive by Jamie Cox 2021-04-26T23:54:54Z

Always a good time to see a shooter! Nice effort on this one. The movement felt very nice, and the sound effects were solid. The projectiles were pretty difficult to see against the background, but overall that wasn't a big deal. One quality of life suggestion for the player is that since there isn't a disadvantage to just firing as much as you can as quickly as you can, it might be good to just have the gun fire automatically wherever the player is aiming. Nice work!

Downward Dog by vincinerated 2021-04-26T23:47:09Z

Wonderful! Really cute graphics and fun gameplay. The best of the half-dozen games I've rated so far. The resolution didn't quite fit on my screen, but it wasn't a big deal. Nice work!

Darkness Muse by Evil Villain Games 2021-04-28T18:29:10Z

Very nice work! The visuals really stand out; this is probably the nicest-looking game I've played so far in the jam. The harp sound is also really satisfying, especially when it bounces off several walls.

Deeper and Deeper in the Woods by Mizatorian 2021-04-26T23:25:34Z

Super cute! I love the music. Definitely a bit short, but that's how game jams go!

Mind Pit by Jordan Dube 2021-04-26T23:41:48Z

Nice! Very pleasant music and satisfying sounds and animation. I really would have liked to see a score counter for this one, either the number of correct guesses or the amount of time that has passed.

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Clone Frenzy by eLeDe 2022-04-04T15:17:20Z

Nice submission! It's a simple concept, but a classic one. Improving the jump would probably be the highest-impact change that you could make to this one. Higher gravity would help, but it would also be nice to be able to jump different heights by letting the player release the jump button to stop jumping. Good work!

Ludare OS by foxwater 2022-04-04T15:02:59Z

Really awesome submission! I played the web version. Graphics are fantastic and the music was really nice. It took me a long time to figure out how to play (the directions are pretty clear, but they are long, so of course I just skimmed the first couple of times). It seemed to get stuck after I decrypted a number, though; no matter what combination of buttons I pressed, I couldn't get the screen to progress any further.

Wormy by PetTurtle 2022-04-04T16:27:02Z

Fun! Took me a moment to figure out, but on a second playthrough it came together just fine. The graphics are really nice; I especially enjoyed the subtle color change to the dirt over time. The mechanics work really well and overall mostly just felt "right". The music was nice at first, but eventually started to get a bit repetitive and annoying. Very nice game overall--possibly my favorite of the ten(ish) that I've seen so far.

Cup Half Full by BangTheWall 2022-04-04T15:09:50Z

Great submission! It's the Tetris that you love, but now 40% more cursed.

Concept is simple but good, and the execution was really solid. The only issue I ran into was that I was using a smaller monitor and had no way to resize to fit my screen (at least on the WebGL build).

Nice work!

One Fuse by the neon shark 2022-04-04T14:30:47Z

Fun concept! I like the explosion graphic.

I was Reincarnated as a Middle Aged Dad Protecting his Son's Sand Castle by mcmuniz 2022-04-04T16:19:08Z

Cute! Fits the theme quite well. I like the premise, but try as I might I wasn't able to figure out how to collect more sand from the pile. After placing my initial collection of sand, there was nothing that I could do but remove tires and six-pack rings and watch my epic sand castle slowly fall to the relentless sea.

Dilate the time! by milq 2022-04-04T14:38:42Z

Great concept! I enjoy that it shows both the observer's time and the adjusted time. A bit philosophical?

The controls got a bit annoying; I had a lot more trouble doing precision platforming than it felt like I should have. Still a good time, though, and a well-done entry.

Lights Out by Dan Livings 2022-04-04T14:48:37Z

Very clean and polished. Simple mechanics, simple design, very well executed. Because there's no way to win and you can't lose unless you stop clicking, I'm not sure if I would really call this a *game* exactly (more of a toy, maybe?), but it's still pretty neat.

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Sprawl: A cyberpunk interactive graphic novel by m11 2022-10-02T23:57:28Z

Very intriguing! Has vibes of A Scanner Darkly with a little bit of Sandman. Even with AI assistance this seems like a *huge* project for a single weekend. My only suggestion would be to change up the font; something about the all-caps blocky letters didn't quite seem to fit the tone of the story and images.

Baja Blasters: The Toll Bells for Thee by theslate 2022-10-06T02:31:14Z

Nice entry! I like the concept, but I find myself really just wanting more bullets. Theme's gonna theme, though, you know? Love the art and sound!

Crash Landed by testsubject06 2022-10-08T03:45:48Z

Good stuff! I liked upgrading the turret into an unstoppable death machine, and the flash when firing looked great! The biggest issues were navigation: I found myself wanting a floating arrow to know which direction my home base was in and some visual indication of which areas were mined out. Nice entry!

Sushi Panic by Delightfullymad 2022-10-03T18:20:49Z

Awesome graphics and sound, and great concept! I had some resolution issues on itch.io that got in the way of playing it properly, but pretty much everything that I was able to see was really great. It's like a pixel art version of an Overcooked level!

Bug Out by wavertron 2022-10-03T18:27:04Z

I like it! The bugs are a good level of challenge--quick enough that you need to be precise, but not so quick that it's frustrating. I liked the concept of the grappling hook, but I found it pretty tricky to use it effectively. Maybe I just need more practice? In the web version the lag/stutter got a bit intense sometimes. Nice entry!

@jadedresearcher What's Zampanio?

Jam Session by Guardaro 2022-10-03T12:15:50Z

@delightfullymad I had some sounds planned (and several non-bullet-based powerups), but time just got away from me. Thanks for the feedback!

Jam Session by Guardaro 2022-10-03T12:19:38Z

@rickylee Nice! Currently that's the highest score I've seen from anyone who didn't code the game themselves. Most of my LD games have a third-party leaderboard, but I didn't include one this time because it's a Compo entry.

Jam Session by Guardaro 2022-10-03T12:22:04Z

@dan-whiffing It's super tricky to get the challenge level right, and I think that I probably erred on the side of too difficult. Easy mode would have been a good idea, or maybe even a challenge slider?

Jam Session by Guardaro 2022-10-03T18:29:07Z

@jadedresearcher That's actually really good feedback! Might have been a good idea to include a "motion sickness mode" toggle or something like that?

Jam Session by Guardaro 2022-10-03T23:45:52Z

Is it bad form to brag about your high score in your own game? Because:

Jam Session by Guardaro 2022-10-06T03:20:25Z

@nardandas Thanks for the feedback! Even though I don't usually go back and update my games after a jam, I think that I might this time--everybody's been giving me such good suggestions.

EPOCH by Wouter52 2022-10-08T03:16:19Z

Oh man, this immediately took me back to 1995 and learning how to make my first games in QBasic. I used that little smiley face character for everything, and I haven't thought about it in years! Love the aesthetic choices generally. Also, mad props to any game with a leaderboard! The gameplay wasn't the most engrossing (especially the times when I was randomly stuck in an area with no bugs and just had wait 10 seconds before I could do anything), but overall it was a neat experience.

Poker Blitz by dan-whiffing 2022-10-03T17:57:55Z

Great execution! Everything looks very clean, the sound effects are nice, and the scatter/shuffle effect looks great. The sea of green was a bit bland--I wouldn't have minded just a bit of texture for visual interest. I don't play poker, so the CPU stomped me even on the easiest difficulty setting. Very nice!

Accelerato by stewthepoo 2022-10-15T13:26:25Z

Nice entry! Love the art, love the music, love the humor (Ratmaninoff!!!). The core mechanic (the controls change unexpectedly every 10 seconds) was actively unfun for me, but it's a cool idea. Getting a visual indication of the upcoming controls a second or two in advance would probably make a big difference--it would be "can I skillfully maneuver to the upcoming control scheme" instead of "can I mash around until I randomly figure out how to move". Good work!

Lighthouse by rickylee 2022-10-03T04:20:27Z

Very polished! Great visuals, great sound, very immersive. I wasn't sure whether or not it was possible to "lose"; I was able to make it back to the lighthouse on my first try (after running into a wall three times on the way).

Ten Seconds To Midnight by reevest2 2022-10-02T22:17:41Z

Nice premise! I tried to grab and/or shoot the big bag of money a bunch of times before I figured it out what I was actually supposed to do. Dodging your own bullet ricochets is fun idea.

You may want to take a look at your itch.io settings; part of the game was cropped off when I played it.

10-Second Magic Artist by vivyhasadream 2022-10-06T00:40:57Z

Fantastic entry! I love how there's been so much discussion about whether or not to allow AI art generators for the jam and your team said, "You know what? Our game IS an AI art generator!" This is the only entry so far that I've shared with people outside the jam--that's how cool this idea is.

Cat Jam by Frib 2022-10-03T18:15:19Z

Best machine-that-drops-cats-onto-a-sawblade-every-ten-seconds themed game I've seen so far this jam! I'll be totally honest: I was so engrossed by the puzzles that I kind of tuned out the cat slaughterhouse bit and stopped trying to find a circle every ten seconds. I lost north of 40 cats by the end. (And my arm.)

Superline Hotami by jcg 2022-10-03T01:09:32Z

Very nice execution! I found this very challenging, but that may be because I was using a laptop trackpad. The sound effects were surprisingly effective, and overall it was a lot of fun.

LD53 — Delivery

Space Haulers by ColinBellino 2023-05-02T02:57:50Z

Wow, *very* impressive! Some of the best art that I've seen in a jam game, and I really enjoyed outfitting my ship. I like the overall concept, but it felt like a *very* long time between ports without any input from the player. Also, I would have loved to have seen some particles or explosions when the weapons hit their targets. Overall, a very, very competitive entry!

AWOOoooo! Delivering your soul to the forest... .. . . . . Or Not.!? by INCD021 2023-05-02T19:13:48Z

You died: :(

But, you died as a wolf: :)

Nice change of pace, something refreshingly different from the other games that I've seen so far! Loved the audio.

Village Run by 43sam 2023-05-02T20:30:22Z

Very impressive! Great graphics, great music. It took me a while to figure out how to play (I must have walked by the shop so many times before I realized that I could actually buy things there); more tutorial or instructions would be helpful. Once I figured it out it was really neat!

Kittens: A Tale of Yarn and Woe by FlashViper 2023-05-02T19:54:06Z

So fun! I loved that you could get combos. I will be back at 250 ratings for Kitten v. The Radiance.

Kittens: A Tale of Yarn and Woe by FlashViper 2023-05-02T19:57:18Z

Oh! I just remembered: I wasn't crazy about having the x button as a control, as this felt kind of awkward with wasd for movement. My only criticism of significance.

Solar Sandwiches by Guardaro 2023-05-03T12:24:24Z

@str8griz, that is *incredible!* Last night I watched while a streamer got that 00:49, and I thought, "There's no *way* anyone's going to top that!" 00:33 has got to be getting close to the fastest theoretically possible time. I salute you.

Solar Sandwiches by Guardaro 2023-05-03T15:41:32Z

@str8griz HOW?! You're not human! You're some kind of machine designed to win at videogames. Incredible.

Solar Sandwiches by Guardaro 2023-05-19T04:33:56Z

@str8griz, you might be amused by this exchange that I had with the other dev on my team a little while back:

Pro Epistula Mori by squimmy 2023-05-02T19:21:47Z

Very nice! Challenging, good illustrations, absurdly large numbers of siblings. I enjoyed the additional hazards as things went along. Nice entry!

Zeba's Broke!!!! by slimefriend 2023-05-02T19:42:37Z

Very nice! Good chill music, loved the birds, noticed a few subtle UI things that were cool (the arrow changes size depending on how close you are to your destination). Lots of good polish in general. Good stuff!

Meat Sweats by Str8griz 2023-05-03T00:12:19Z

***MEAT SWEATS***. Amazing! I wasn't expecting the sauce boss, and it was clearly the one thing that was missing from my life. I'm a bit unclear on how the napkins thing works... I go to tables and use my fork to... steal napkins from customers? Wonderful theme, fun audio, cute art. Possibly my favorite of the 10-ish games I've tried so far.

BobKnight by NutvillageGames 2023-05-03T00:23:49Z

There's a lot of game here! Very ambitious for one weekend, and I liked that there was a large amount of content. Probably my biggest gripe was the s l ow d ia l o gue; I found myself skipping interactions with NPCs because I didn't want to wait through them. Nice entry, though.

Deliver Us To Evil by Nbrowning5 2023-05-02T19:00:46Z

Great atmosphere! I found it interesting that the enemy became more powerful over time (or at least, began to fly). I didn't realize at first that I could wall jump, so I spent a lot of time running around the first room trying to figure out where the fifth flame was until I figured it out. Nice work!

de-Liver by noskro 2023-05-06T23:16:06Z

I like that you hit on a couple of interpretations of the theme at once: you're de-livering customers while you deliver their drinks. The control changes were interesting; you could still navigate to where you wanted to go even towards the end of the game, but it got pretty difficult to predict *how* you would get there. Surprising amount of realism! Nice audio work, too.

Courier by nubitoad 2023-05-03T20:56:10Z

Hello! You may want to check your page on itch; it says that the developer has not uploaded a game yet.

The Death Delivery Service by SAD Studios 2023-05-02T03:07:52Z

I enjoyed the humor! I think that the HOA president who wanted to look at ugly houses was my favorite part. I would have like a bit of music, but it's hard to do everything in a jam. Fun!

Space Game Where You Fling Ships Into Planets To Deliver Shipments by Ramin Amiri Suibun 2023-05-02T19:47:52Z

Best. Title. Ever.

The orbiting was probably the best part of the game--very satisfying to watch. Decent audio, simple but effective controls, overall a solid entry. Nice work!

Crazy Pizza by Kruger Game Studio 2023-05-02T19:36:23Z

Kudos for making a 3d racing game; I haven't seen many of those so far. This game has a solid recipe, but the camera was a significant obstacle to fun; it started facing backwards, and it never quite seemed to point where I wanted it to. This was a really ambitious project for one weekend!

LD54 — Limited Space

But we still love each other by rongon 2023-10-12T02:26:43Z

The highest rating I have given to any game in this jam! A gem of the immersive sim genre. Very lifelike.

Limited Judgement by velvetlobster 2023-10-04T17:11:36Z

Very interesting! I admit that I cheated a bit--after I played I opened the game up in an incognito tab and was thus able to decide my own fate. Very fun premise. I enjoyed this.

Haxwell Modem: Beyond the Firewall by shaner421 2023-10-06T05:48:32Z

Interesting! My first impression was that I wasn't going to enjoy this one, but it definitely grew on me. The "tile puzzle" upgrade system was very cool and a definite highlight. I'm not quite sure whether I was playing it right; whenever I would reach a certain room it would fade out and then start me back at the beginning (and probably with more enemies on the ship?). I wasn't sure whether this was the entire game or whether I just wasn't figuring out how to progress. Either way, nice entry!

Oh no my spacebar has been cursed by an evil wizard if I press it too much I ded by myrmyxo 2023-10-02T18:40:57Z

Cool concept! I like your take on the theme, and I'm always impressed any time somebody does a puzzle game, especially for the compo.

I skimmed through the explanation text, so I didn't realize that there was a restart button until I saw the comment above! That makes a huge difference; I was literally hitting F5 every time I died.

Oh, one thing that will probably help you get more plays: since the web version on itch.io is working, I would add HTML5 (Web) as one of the types of links. I know that some people won't even play a game that they have to download, and you're already set up for web play!

UNLimited Space by Guardaro 2023-10-02T12:23:40Z

Thanks for the feedback, @kanagg! I debated about the left trigger; you're totally right that it feels *very weird*. It feels pretty good using hold-and-release to turn the jet on and off instead, but I found in testing that I basically never turn it off, so I would just hold the trigger down for almost the entire level!

UNLimited Space by Guardaro 2023-10-03T21:43:19Z

Thanks for the feedback, @igor-fam! I got to the end in 1:30 by playing the game 60+ times while I was making it

Space - Limited Edition by Thibaud 2023-10-02T19:41:41Z

Fun entry! I loved the launch effects. The gameplay was a bit capricious for my taste (I really wanted to optimize and create a space company that would last for centuries), but I suppose that going to space is not for everyone. Nice work!

Space - Limited Edition by Thibaud 2023-10-02T19:42:30Z

Island City Builder by AlexTengu 2023-10-08T05:01:37Z

Nice submission! I like that it's long enough for some depth of strategy but not so long that someone can't try it several times if a particular strategy isn't working. Like most jam games, it would benefit from more instructions/a tutorial, but a player can figure out the objectives well enough by playing through it a couple of times. I enjoyed the variety of improvements that you could build. I didn't *love* the art, but I also know that detailed 3D modeling is always going to be difficult to pull off in the timeframe of a jam. Overall, really nice work!

Ghost peppers from someplace by Neeko69 2023-10-04T18:38:40Z

Kudos on setting out to do the jam in a new engine and sticking to it! That takes some persistence.

Free The Slime! by Christian Zommerfelds 2023-10-08T19:57:20Z

Very fun! Simple-to-grasp mechanics that lead to some interesting puzzles. I got stuck on #8, but I came back the next day and powered through the rest of the game in a few minutes.

Bit Golf by badcop 2023-10-08T04:48:38Z

Very cool! Probably the most innovative submission I've seen so far in this jam. The UI was very nicely polished, and the audio was pleasant. I'd say that my only significant concern was some sudden jumps in difficulty level; an early level or two set some expectations that were not met in a later stage, and it left me looking for solutions in the wrong places. Overall, though, this is some really cool stuff that you should be proud of.

The Big Crunch by Ategon 2023-10-08T04:37:29Z

Very fun entry! Lots of variety, pleasant audio, solid graphics, simple and accessible controls. For a few games it wasn't obvious at first what the goal was, but I kind of feel like that wasn't a problem; part of the charm of a rapid-fire anthology like this one is the moment of initial discovery (and failure) followed by quick improvement. Probably the main potential weakness is that the design doesn't allow any real opportunity for deep play: it's a series of candy-floss bites that dissolve immediately on the tongue. But, not every game needs to be one that someone could play for dozens of hours--quick bursts of joy are great, too. Really solid submission!

CosmoTrasher by Prologi 2023-10-02T13:34:35Z

Super cool! Great graphics, great music, super fun trash-slinging action. I was unprepared for the sudden surge in *intensity* in the music when I went from practice mode to speedrun mode; it really felt urgent! I never quite got a grasp on how grappling different things in different ways would affect my speed--sometimes I would just mosey along and sometimes I would grapple a random rock and start *flying* across the map. Perhaps I need to learn more about orbital mechanics.

Solid entry!

Cursed Shadows by Wonkanese 2023-10-02T19:26:21Z

Wall-jumping helmet with a gun fighting eyeless monster things? *Yes!*

This is looking pretty great for a first-time LD submission! There are a lot of really cool ideas here, and I enjoyed trying it out.

I was tricked by the bullet upgrade: I expected that it would get me five extra bullets instead of only one. *Robbery.* I should have known that you always go for extra coins first.

Star hotel by Taeghen 2023-10-04T17:33:02Z

Fun! It took me a bit to figure out what the symbols meant, but after that it was pretty straightforward. This feels like it would be a good tablet/phone game--dragging and dropping with the mouse got a bit tedious, but that of course is just a limitation of the platform that you have to work with. Nice work!

Limitless Space by Panda king 976 2023-10-02T19:50:51Z

Hey, this is a great start! The art is cool, the concept is neat, the audio is vaguely industrial-creepy in a good way. I hope to see some of your finished games in future jams.

Trapped in the Infinite Script by meowellyq 2023-10-06T05:21:26Z

Interesting! This was a bit different from most of what I've seen in the jam, and that's always a good thing. I was a bit frustrated by the options sometimes--I would have liked to see something between "be a pushover" and "be extremely rude." But, I guess that's part of it, isn't it? We're limited by what the character would do, not by what we would choose to do in that situation.

Space Limiter Warp Drive by 2TheGameChanger 2023-10-02T05:12:31Z

Very cool! Love the trippy background visuals; love the audio. Also, a very creative take on the theme. Using the mouse to control did some odd things--I noticed that eventually my cursor was over on my other monitor. Keyboard controls were more effective.

The only key thing that's missing is an objective--"Get points" is great, but when do I know that I have *enough* points? A time limit would be a simple fix: how many points can you get in two minutes?

Solid entry, especially for the Compo!

The_Box by KANAGG 2023-10-02T05:22:23Z

Very interesting! It took me a bit to figure out what to do, but after I got stuck and reloaded I managed to get the satisfying *"yes!"* sound effect in 1:05. How did I do?

You definitely nailed the theme. I would have liked to see a bit more in the way of instructions, but overall this looks like a pretty cool first Ludum Dare entry. Congrats!

Clearing space by Sevansevan 2023-10-02T12:43:48Z

Very cool! Some deviously difficult puzzles; I made it up to the one with seven clears and three flowers bunched together before I called it quits. I'll probably revisit this one later once I recover from post-jam brain fog.

Hangout Bandwidth by Andrei Olaru 2023-10-02T18:26:56Z

Lovely aesthetics; looks very professional! I'm not sure whether the gameplay didn't quite land or it landed *perfectly*. I felt confused and frustrated because I couldn't quite figure out how to progress effectively... which is *exactly* how the kind of hangout depicted here actually works in real life! So, success? Either way, this is something really interesting that stands out from the crowd, and that's something to be celebrated. Nice entry!

LD59 — Signal

signOS by Wendel Scardua 2026-04-25T01:47:34Z

Really cool concept! Having the robot send a signal to a robot to send a signal to a robot gets mind-bending pretty quickly. I haven't finished the whole thing yet, but I'm having a great time. I'd love to hear a bit more audio, though the bit on the startup screen was quite nice.

I'm very curious about your process for making something like this. What sorts of tools do you use?

Sacred Bleorgan Artifacts by marudziik 2026-04-20T00:09:32Z

Super excited to try this one! Is there a way to download the Pico-8 cartridge? I'd like to give this a go on my handheld if I can. (Otherwise I will, of course, come back and try out the itch io version)

Sacred Bleorgan Artifacts by marudziik 2026-04-20T00:30:23Z

What a lovely game! I love the cheeky writing. The humans were super frustrating (as they often are); they were very appropriate antagonists. Sometimes the humans fell over and I wasn't quite sure why--do they fall in the holes?

Great entry!

FULL CLASP : Clasp Warfare by ragtagradical 2026-04-22T00:06:31Z

I have gotten... a lot of thermonuclear annihilation. Great entry! I love that it's something out of the ordinary but very intuitive. The music is pleasant, the graphics are adequate (and funny), and overall it's good times.

LiNX Elektrika by Cardboard Box 2026-04-22T00:00:32Z

What fun! Very nostalgic not-pacman game. Love the retro aesthetic, and the music and sound effects were very polished. It was quite challenging (I died lots), but a lot of fun.

Echo Chaser by Verbante 2026-04-20T01:28:30Z

Looks amazing! Any possibility of a cart? I'm trying to try as many pico8 games as I can on my handheld.

Echo Chaser by Verbante 2026-04-21T15:55:28Z

I finally got around to trying it (I had to fight the LD embed pretty hard to get it to work). Amazing game! Might be my favorite of the 10-ish I've tried so far? Absolutely beautiful graphics, and I kept being surprised to find that there were more mechanics (I loved the blue / green blocks). Fantastic job.

Signal Fading by Animaster 2026-04-21T18:57:55Z

I'm going to need to revisit this one because I can *tell* that it's good, but I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Everything is really clean, the movement feels nice and smooth and polished, and there's clearly a lot of thought and care here, but I just cannot deliver a second package for the life of me. I will be back!

Cave Man Conversations by SirLich 2026-04-21T22:45:11Z

Very fun! I enjoyed the voice and the pictures of the signals, and it was very intuitive. I was invested in the narrative! My only suggestion would be to add a fullscreen button on itch; picking out the right signals to send was tricky because they were so tiny!

Les Misérables by lizelive 2026-04-21T18:47:05Z

Very ambitious! This is very well polished and had a surprising number of options to choose from, and nothing seemed out of place. I haven't read Les Miserables for quite a long time; I'm tempted to do so again. The only change that I would make would be to reduce the volume a bit; it was startlingly loud when I opened the game. Nice music, though!

Dracula 2: The Bloodening of Neo London by Guardaro 2026-04-20T01:30:28Z

@fassenberg, CyberDracula does not get stronger over time because his power is already beyond mortal comprehension.

Dracula 2: The Bloodening of Neo London by Guardaro 2026-04-20T02:19:19Z

Congratulations, @havearollonthefloor! You are the current (non-developer) world record holder of fastest time to complete Dracula 2: The Bloodening of Neo London!

Also, thanks for the feedback. Yeah, some kind of health indicator would definitely have been helpful. Maybe a nice Dead Souls style healthbar?

Dracula 2: The Bloodening of Neo London by Guardaro 2026-04-20T02:56:35Z

@havearollonthefloor I like the vignette idea! At first I was planning to have the "darkness cloud" around Dracula diminish as he took damage, but honestly I just ran out of time to implement it. I added a bit of camera shake as he approaches, but it doesn't really do much until he's actually on-screen; starting it a bit further away would probably have been a good idea to make the approach more ominous (and noticeable). Thanks again!

Dracula 2: The Bloodening of Neo London by Guardaro 2026-04-20T18:38:13Z

Congratulations to @dzejpi, the new (non-dev) world record holder for fastest slaying of CyberDracula in "Dracula 2: The Bloodening of Neo London"! You **are** pretty slick and super cool.

Dracula 2: The Bloodening of Neo London by Guardaro 2026-04-21T21:34:55Z

Thanks for the suggestions, @purpledartfrog and @marudziik! Yeah, in retrospect I should probably just avoid using CTRL at all for anything web-based. The space bar should be pretty safe in the future.

Charging Station by Boudichon 2026-04-21T23:55:50Z

Lovely and delightful! This was something really unique and enjoyable. The trash sound effect was a bit loud and *almost* hurt my ears, but otherwise everything was neat and cute and fun.

Wave Rider by Sariiger 2026-04-21T19:07:41Z

Very interesting! Manipulating sine graphs for movement is a concept that I haven't seen before, and it was neat and a lot of fun. I didn't love the music, but taste is subjective. Nice entry!

Build Artifacts by Perrin 2026-04-21T12:12:39Z

So cool that you made a Playstation game! I like the premise and aesthetics of this one quite a bit. I was able to scan and find two sectors on the global map, but I got a bit stuck on the drones; I could fly them around and drop the blue things, but I wasn't able to work out what they did or what my objective was.

I tried this out on my RGB30. Worked a treat!

20260421_080404.jpg

Build Artifacts by Perrin 2026-04-21T16:48:32Z

Oh, that makes so much sense! I thought that I was dropping some sort of sensor. I'll try it again later.

Build Artifacts by Perrin 2026-04-22T13:32:09Z

I gave it another go and I'm having a lot of fun. The process of "decoding" the messages was really neat. I'm not sure whether I've finished it or not, though. I've found and translated five artifacts (and revealed the shocking truth of the nature of the invaders), and nothing else seems to be showing up on the globe scanner. Have I reached the end?

I love this thing, by the way. The writing is really good, and I like that it's not super hand-holdy; it feels good to poke around and figure things out. Probably the only change that I would make for user-friendliness would be to make the blue direction indicators on the drone portion a bit more visible. When I was flying around at first I didn't realize that they were actually changing as I moved from place to place.

Really cool game!

Awaiting Response by DzejPi 2026-04-20T21:36:41Z

Wonderfully creepy! I got jumpscared, but it wasn't a *terrible* jumpscare, so you get a pass. The room with all of the arrows pointing at the phone filled me with in inordinate amount of dread.

V.P.N. by torte478 2026-04-20T18:58:34Z

Any game with a vibe button is a winner in my book. Very interesting! This was surprisingly *stressful* to play; I wanted to keep all of my signals. Nice entry!

Shooting Stars in a Blocky Cosmose! by AweSkyBear 2026-04-20T18:13:24Z

Very interesting! Definitely a chill game. I don't think that this one is for everyone, but I think that the people who like it will REALLY like it! Top marks for innovation. Nice work!

Cosmic Relay by ghettobastler 2026-04-20T02:50:09Z

Fantastic entry! I enjoyed the variety of mini games to troubleshoot the signal problems. Very clean graphics, nice music, and in general really pushing the constrained engine to its limits. I was quite confused when I first started playing, but it didn't take long to figure things out. Now I want baklava.

Vice Signalling by Dogshroom 2026-04-21T23:40:01Z

Alas, while this game looks gorgeous, it was too powerful for my 1080p screen--I wasn't able to get the whole thing to fit whether it was fullscreen or not. Is it unplayable without a 4K monitor, or am I doing something wrong?

Beat the Signal by Fassenberg 2026-04-20T18:46:11Z

Very cool! The embedded game didn't work for me, so I hopped over to your itch link. Super cool game; everything is super simple but *polished* to near-perfection. Great tutorial, nice sound, and I **loved** how the visuals synched up with the music. Solid entry!

Criminal Does Not Dream of Wizard Boy Policeman by havearollonthefloor 2026-04-20T19:07:32Z

Very interesting! Some very fancy mechanics going on here. This game was very challenging to learn because there was a lot to remember at once (I appreciated the in-game guide to picking colors). It seems like the sort of thing that someone could quickly become quite good at with some practice, though. An approach where the complexity builds over time (start with only a few colors, then add more one at a time) would probably work well, but of course there's only so much that you can implement over the course of a jam. Really cool entry!
