Endless Orbits by Wevel 2020-10-05T16:45:08Z
I played around with the web version a bit, it was fun and I think the idea is pretty good :)

What a fun game! I think this is the first compo game in 3d that actually looks quite finished.
Pretty cool idea :) Though I have to agree with @p0l4r that I missed some audio.
I loved the art style of the planet with the clouds and everything! It was quite challenging at the beginning, but I got the hang of it after a while.
This was so much fun! I loved the music, though I did sort of miss some sfx for certain things, like when an event pops up. Also the idea of meeting another smiliar starship fits in quite well with the theme of timelines. Pretty cool!
At first I though the music was kind of weird and didn't fit. But then, when I entered the actual dungeon, it was amazing! On-point.
Simple concept, but great execution. Loved the music.
I had a ton of fun playing this! Great entry. Although I did notice that the game got quite slow towards the end.
A great concept! I didn't get a very high score, but I did have fun :)
I had a lot of fun playing this! I love how the music kind of ramps up the more power you collect. And the level transitions! I did not expect it at first. A good entry! An congratulations on finishing a whole game in a weekend :D
links??
It was kind of fun, though I found it quite annoying that you move so slow in the direction that you also have to pick up. I liked the graphics though!
I like the concept, though I did have trouble getting to the second key :o
Very innovative concept, I like it! I didn't quite get to your score of 60, though. I think this is quite a well rounded experience compared to some of the other submissions. Good Job :)
same, HTML5 link is dead.
I like it :) especially the music, I think it fits the art style quite well. Though after a while I could basically survive forever.
I'm amazed how well this fits the theme! One thing I was missing though: I would have liked to be able to move around the loop the only 2 keys, one for each direction.
Yep same, the game doesn't load for me. Also, from the description of your game, it sounds quite a lot like what I made for the compo. Weird coincidence :o
I enabled sound in the option, but it doesn't seem to work. Also, changing the resolution just created black space around 2 of the edges of the screen, making it even smaller.
Wow, what a unique game! The music and sounds were very fitting. I've enjoyed this a lot!
I really had fun playing this! Though it got quite slow towards the end, with many enemies on the screen. At the start I wasn't sure how to build things because the buttons were greyed out, but then I got it. Also, sometimes I didn't quite understand why I couldn't place something, a grid might have been useful for this.
I liked the concept of switching between the cubes and having to "tell" every cube what to do. I found that the difficulty ramped up quite quickly though, but that's fine :D
I think it's a pretty good concept! Though some I noticed things: The music restarts every scene switch and pressing E sometimes didn't seem to trigger correctly. Also, I couldn't figure out how to skip the how to play section.
This reminds me a lot of that one game that recently got hyped so much... not sure what it's called right now. I like the concept though, I think this would be amazing in multiplayer :)
Nice one :) I think this is one of the best entries I've seen so far.
while it's not the most unique concept, it fits the theme perfectly. Also, I loved the little easter egg at the end :)
@oa5f Nice :D @gilborn @thegamerasd @silvae Thank you all so much :) I'm glad you liked it.
@wevel Thank you :) Squirrels are great.
@thepelranthean Thank you so much! I did plan to add some sound effects for the player movement, but I ran out of time. I spent like 3 hours on the soundtrack :D
@zwodahs Thank you, I think there can still be more done with the mechanics, though. I was thinking about colored lasers and spikes, too. But I spent the last few hours on refining the current mechanics and creating a couple more levels.
@freeworld Wow, thank you so much for the feedback! There are more than a couple of easter eggs (if you want to call them that) to discover in the game, though :D I did try to keep the base as simple as possible and build on that as much as time allowed. Also, I did watch that Brackeys Video you mentioned a while back, too. I didn't get to try the stuff he talked about until now though.
@fumybulb Unfortunatly, I did not have time to make it real, but I wanted to make a "secret" area in every level where there would be a little squirrel to find. I didn't expect anyone would check out my soundcloud though! I'm glad you liked it :)
@eugenik @beeguy @weine @minibobbo @guardaro Thank you all for playing it!! I really appreciate the honest feedback <3
@jooky Спасибо
@Lombax I'm glad you didn't find it boring to see the level "reused". I was wooried thiats would happen.
@godsboss You're definitely not "anyone" :D
@alpharock6 Thank you :) Yes, it needs either some information about the resetting or some visuals/audio to make it more obvious that it's not a death.
@wiseclock Squirrels are great :D Thank you.
I loved the graphics of this! At the start I didn't quite understand how to get through the doors, but then it was a ton of fun.
The idea for this is so great! I never got pat 150 points because I kept self-destructing, though :D Some powerups would be pretty cool, some way to protect the planet or something :D
While this game is far too hard for me, I do like the idea. It lacks Audio though.
Very cool game! I loved the sound effects and music especially. It just felt kind of fitting! At first I didn't realize I could dig a hole on the spot when I run out of drills, but I got it quickly it
Also pretty cool that you included an online leaderboard! That actually made me try again. Got to 98 Score :)
Unfortunately, the game doesn't load for me ;(
Wow, I can't believe you created all this so quickly!
What a neat idea! I couldn't really come up with a properly functioning sub the first few times, though.
This is such a great entry! I can't believe you did this in 2 days all alone. I literally can't think of anything it's missing! The only criticism I have is that the controls felt a little bit clunky at first, but I got used to it pretty quickly.
In addition to the timer, the ghosts and explosives make the gameplay quite fast paced and reactive. The leaderboard made me spend far too much time trying to get big combos.
I think with a bit more "depth" to it this would actually be worth releasing on steam or something! Considering you made all this in 2 days...
Congratulations on your entry! I swear if you don't get top 100 with this I'll eat my keyboard :)
Nice Job! I noticed that the game just turn off (maybe it's a crash?) when I get out of the visible area. It was pretty fun though!
@Sode 1920x1080
This is a lot for a compo game. Comgratulations :)
Nice Work!
Holy F*ck this scared me so much! Even though I knew 100% there was something coming and it's clearly that type of game. Great work, it's absolutely amazing.
Apart from a few small things, like the enemies keeping shooting after you walked away very far, this is very fun! It reminds me a lot of a similar game, quite old. I can't remember the name now but it's very fun as well! Amazing that you did this all by yourself.
This looks pretty good! I just reached the yellow area when i died. One thing I noticed, though, is that the bats are very hard to see with the dark background at times.
This is amazing! I had a lot of fun playing this. Congratulations on finishing it for the Compo - Great Work.
@nbumgardner Thank you :) Actually, you should get half of the Ore value when you die. I should make that more obvious. It's true, though, that it's a bit slower-paced than most LD Games.
@chumzy Thank you for the feedback :) I agree that the collision and movement is a bit weird at times. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to optimize that.
MY GOD! Thank you all for the amazing feedback!
@colisan @exewin @oadt Originally, the plan was to have lava pockets below 1000 where the heat would rise more if you get too near. Also, the balancing does need some work, but I had to make a cut to finish the music and SFX :D
@lisyarus @smeljey I actually realized that the selling part is a bit weird the deeper you get. I wanted to make an upgrade, lika a "mobile shop" or a teleport to the top so you wouldn't have to go up again, but as I mentioned above, I ran out of time too quickly.
Thank you all again, what an amazing community!
@jimbly Thank you for the in-depth feedback! Someone mentioned that bug to me before. I guess the generator is not fast enough... I should have capped the falling speed :D And yes, I agree that a teleport or a mobile shop or something like that would be very handy.
@sode You do get half of the Ores as Cash when you die, though :)
@jujuformatic Thanks for the tip, I'll keep it in mind for next time.
@cogcomp & Anonymous Thank you! I am actually thinking about continuing this project. I have some pretty cool ideas for it :)
@harmadillo @lokt02 Thank you :)
@lex @skoobydoo Yes, I agree that some sort of ending is definitely missing. I didn't have time for that, unfortunately.
@pancelor Thank you so much! I agree, the collision and jumping feels a bit off. I'll check that video out later, I'm at work at the moment :)
OUH MY BACK!
Great game :) Very funny, especially the intro. I loved the voice-acting and music, too :D
Nice entry! It felt kind of slow/grindy for this type of game, but obviously you didn't have much time. It looks pretty good and the sound effects are on point :)
Congratulations on your first Ludum Dare Entry! The music is very fitting somehow, for this type of game. And even though the music was relatively fast, the game felt kind of relaxing. Nice work!
This is awesome! I didn't even realize that the world is randomly generated on my first try! Apart from the missing sound and some QoL stuff, its great! This was a lot of fun.
I love these kinds of psychonaut games! amazing work.
This one is pretty cool!
pretty cool!
This was so much fun, I tried getting a high score. The furthest I got was $543. I haven't really seen anything like this before! The only thing I didn't like was how my fingers start hurting after a while :D
I love the music :) very chill.
It's harder than I expected :D Nice sound effects!
I love the idea! Took me a second to figure out what to do, but once I got the hang of it, it was pretty fun!
This was amazing! I don't want to spoil anything, but this looks super polished. great music and sound effects, too.
This is such an original idea! But now I will have to get used to living in the city as a wild boar ;)
I love the idea! I had some problems winning the fights though. I think having some start items that are fixed would be good, to reduce randomness. Also, sometimes it seemed that I lost when I should've won and the other way around.
This game reminds me of "Solar 2". Since then, I've never seen someone do something like this, so pretty original idea! I like it.
This is a lot of fun :D I think with enough upgrade diversity this has a lot of potential! One thing is though, that the new Score target should take the score you got into account. I had a bunch of rounds where i wouldn't even have had to click any shapes :D
I love squirrels <3
The cows are so funny! I collected 355 dudes. Your game feels a lot more polished than I would expect.
@antti-haavikko thank you for the detailed feedback! you are absolutely right :D @jojocanard @tweekus I don't know what's wrong and I'm not allowed to change it anymore anyway, so... sad :( @rhewid thank you!
I added a standalone build for anyone with issues in the web version.
This reminds me of the old Zelda games :D
this is pretty cool! I would have liked a collection/level counter and maybe some background music
I agree with benjamin, this is impressive for a compo game! Just making all those assets must have taken half a day
Looks great! The concept is interesting, though I would have liked some explanation on what the cards do :D
I'm going to be honest, I didn't really understand the mechanics. Impressive to make something 3D as a first entry though :)
wow! not bad!
Wow this is impressive
Capture.PNG
Very interesting and sophisticated content :) 5/5
Pretty neat idea! Handling the satelites was kind of hard, but I assume that's part of the game :D
Capture.PNG
Game worked good for me. IN the future, try the minimal export template for webgl instead of the one with the unity bar etc. Capture.PNG As for the game, it wasn't super clear for me which signal on the map I was scanning, sometimes more of them had the red circle, and which signal in the bottom is which one on the left. like missing the association. but other than that, its a pretty original idea and I almost made it to 100% :D
Xenolinguistics :) I heard that word for the firs time today. I think I translated a few alien words :D
this is a pretty neat idea!
I love the idea! Unfortunately, I encountered a bug when reaching the pass score. Amazing art style and music though! Crazy that you did this in 3 days!
