nice game!
Interesting Game! I would have loved more effects and animations for dropping off ore and the mothership laser, but it was interesting for sure!
@tarvisplays Thanks! I also wanted to, but the technique I used to render the Mandelbox fractal drew over anything not counted in the depth buffer, so I could not have any particle effects or glow that didn't apply to the whole screen, like the flash when the lazer goes off or the blue loop screen.
I didn't understand the concept at first, take me some retries to collect some ore. Well done for the fractal world (big up for this I-ma-firing-my-laser), but I didn't understand where the subject is (stuck in a loop). Maybe for the fractal?
PS : I didn't have any HUD in the game like the one in your . game.PNG
@arktas Once you collect 7 ores, time reverses and you get set back to the beginning, but with more difficult settings. Not the best implementation of that but it's something haha
@xacer Ok I didn't manage to get to the end of first loop (block many time into the fractal). So I understand better for the subject now ^^ thank for answer.
For me the volume was way to high with no way to lower it it kind of hurt my ears. Took me some time to understand the concept as well. I think the generation of the Mandelbox is awesome!
@mrredbeard Oh shoot, I must have had my whole computer's volume low when editing those settings. Sorry!
I think it's a pretty good concept! Though some I noticed things: The music restarts every scene switch and pressing E sometimes didn't seem to trigger correctly. Also, I couldn't figure out how to skip the how to play section.
I liked the mandelbox, could use some kind of texturing though. Solid game loop, though I wish there was some kind of game menu to adjust volume and exit game.
Nice game!
Wow the first jam game with ray marching! Love it!
I enjoyed playing this. The music was very nice.
I liked your game my congratulations, I also did one if you want to know, and give me your feedback I am very grateful, this is the link https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/resurrection
I was puzzled at first, then started to find some fun shooting at the ennemy ^^ I took some retries to get how to mine, and understood lately the concept, it's a nice idea and doing the game jam by your own is a challenge, so congratz !!
It's hard to understand, took a few games to know how to drill and where to drop the ores, the game looks very cool and the music gives it a good touch!
Maybe write instructions that can be accessed DURING play? Maybe on this very page?
@baturinsky Wow, I should've thought about that. I put them on the itch.io page but I moved them here also. Thanks :)
You guys did a great job! Nicely done.
The idea behind the game looks interesting. I was just a little confused on how to play, but I think I was able to understand the experience of the game.
Ray marching! Mandelcube! I may not have loved the game play, but this is an awesome technical work. The controls felt really good for a space ship. I enjoy fractal geometry and kept getting lost in the cube.
Liked the world's implementation, great technical achievement! I had some struggle with the controls, at least mining and firing was not consistent on the build I've played. Flying around was smooth and interesting given the fractal map :)
Gameplay-wise it isn't anything special, but I'm super impressed at how you managed to incorporate a ray-marched mandelbox into your game! My ship even collides with it in the way I'd expect. Impressive!
