Love a good spaceship shooter, absolutely adored the little accelation noises. Impressive to get all the systems in for a compo, my only gripe is probably the drift-y feel of the spaceship was a bit hard to work with sometimes. Other than that it felt quite polished.
This game reminds me of Lunar Lander and (especially) Asteroids from days of yore. It took me a while to realize that leaving the central area causes damage. Also, I wasn't sure how the ? and ! symbols work — they appear to be like directional finders, but perhaps not. In any case, there are the seeds of a good game here.

Pretty little arcade game !
The graphics are simple, but the attention to detail in the particles and lighting makes it feel very polished.
I have a bit of a problem with the movement; it feels very responsive at the same time (turning around, accelerating, shooting and even restarting are instant and very satisfying).
However, it's really hard to manoeuver the ship. I went out of bounds many times and got the same feeling I got with classic Sonic games; I want to go really fast, I can, but if I do, I'll die in a few seconds.
I think boosting the acceleration, add an S key to go back and reducing the maximum speed would do the trick. (I would even suggest adding natural deceleration, however I understand that you want to maintain the "space feeling", where momentum just stays the same, and it would break it)
Anyway good little game, well done !
This game reminds me of "Solar 2". Since then, I've never seen someone do something like this, so pretty original idea! I like it.

Love the visuals and the music, but it wasn't really clear what the salvage actually was, or what the question mark and exclamation mark were for. I liked that you had to accelerate in the opposite direction to slow down.

Pretty nice overall, though the ship is very hard to control, died a few times going out of bounds :( liked the graphics and the ship noise!

Nice music and visuals. I mostly died because I accelerated too much and went out of the play area. Controls are all in all pretty difficult to handle. Even aiming is hard if the enemy is "half a screen" away. Shooting felt nice though, with nice light effects.
I imagine this is what piloting an actual salvage spaceship would feel like... I really like the music and art, but I keep going offscreen and not being able to get back in time due to the floatiness of the controls.
Nice little space shooter, love these kind of 2D space games. I liked it a lot, although I found the steering a bit too strong for my preference. Slowing down was a bit difficult and I ended up drifting off the map a few times without managing to get back before dying. A short explanation of the symbols would have helped, it took me a while to realize that the ? meant salvage.
Fun. I like asteroids style spaceship flying. I do think that it would be good if you had some more warning about where the edge of the map was. At first I just kept dying that way and I wasn't sure why. Then when I figured it out I just moved around really slowly, which made it less fun.
At first I wasn't sure how I was collecting the salvage. It just seemed random. I think a little progress meter of some kind, or some other indication of progress for collecting them could help make it clearer what is happening.
I do like the sound effects for the motor. The pitch indicating the speed is a nice touch.
Overall, I liked it. Good job!
