LD46 — Keep it alive

Mom, I Started a Cult! by oller125 2020-04-20T12:10:32Z

@justlocalhero Thanks for the feedback. Most of the gameplay elements were things I was hoping to implement at the start. However, I spent about half the time trying to wrestle with Godot's UI system (I really only started to understand it a few hours before submission).

Protect The Artifact by WillyPa 2020-04-20T12:24:01Z

The boost is a bit of a pain to control with WASD. If movement was "click here to move" or something similar there would be a better justification for using it. Still pretty fun though.

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Numerus Maximus by SimplePotential 2022-04-20T20:49:58Z

I love how the portable the game is. I kind of get the rules, but I feel like there are not enough constraints to not guess most of the time. One thing that's missing is sound effects but otherwise this is a well polished game.

Light Souls by rasblo 2022-04-20T21:18:20Z

Loved the concept and I like the minimalism of the graphics. After a few attempts, I wasn't quite sure if there is was a winning condition in the game.

The Death Delayer by JakobTheQuizGuy 2022-04-20T20:41:24Z

The concept is straightforward for quite novel, so it works great for a LD submission. Love the artwork as well.

Musical Thrones by DecadeDecaf 2022-04-20T20:46:21Z

A rhythm game with great music to match! I found the flying arrows part a little too hard towards the end but that's just a complaint of my own skill.

Computer Scientist Training Lab by YellowKamel 2022-04-20T21:07:47Z

Enjoyed this game. As others have said, the timing of the walls and the speed of ticks makes it a little difficult to not just avoid them altogether. I would also say that typing the instructions, while relevant within the setting of the game, feels like difficulty for difficulty's sake. However, I love how polished the game is as well as its setting and humour.

Dino Savior by ShorkieSoftware 2022-04-20T21:05:10Z

Great little game. I get the point of it picking up in difficulty so the inevitable happens, but I feel it happens a little too quickly.

SILAS by googlypoo 2022-04-20T20:39:34Z

Great for a first LD game. Simple, but complete. I enjoyed the humour of Silas and it had interesting puzzles even with just the small number of mechanics. Great job!

LD53 — Delivery

Rock Paper Scissors Inc. by Weston Goggins 2023-05-01T20:27:51Z

Really enjoyed this. It's a great twist on regular Sokoban games.

LD54 — Limited Space

Perse Auki Aavikolla by Tutti Ankka 2023-10-04T20:12:16Z

Quite a fun game. As others have pointed out, it would have been good to see a visual indicator of how much gas is left.

Limited Space Under Press by asfdfdfd 2023-10-04T20:40:41Z

Nice game. It might be the case that the hitbox is a little off. I ended up missing notes (particularly the first in a group) when they were clearly in the visual hitbox.

PIO by sbeif 2023-10-03T20:03:00Z

Nice game. though I think some of the ways you damage yourself don't make sense, though they could be bugs. It seems like you can take damage being in a limited space just by trying to eat, even if there is no eagle nearby. This can also happen if you do it near the top of the screen, but that's presumably because there's a collider there to stop you flying off screen.

I also didn't like the instance death when an eagle attacks, but I think that's down to taste.

Overall, a fun game.

Comfort by Anper 2023-10-04T19:39:34Z

I liked the main mechanic of the comfort zone and the fact that you can hop when lightly pushing the jump button. However, it seemed to be a bit too slow for my taste and I think a smoother transitioning from the comfort to the outside of comfort music would have helped. Immediately cutting one on to the other was quite jarring.

Burglary Bonanza! by kasperhangard 2023-10-02T19:37:15Z

itch.io link is a 404

Flicker of Lumina by Nash 2023-10-03T20:13:12Z

A really fun game. I loved the combination of the fireflies being a way to attack and a way to see enemies. Lining them up to hit multiple enemies was also fun.

KosmoPod by Hakro 2023-10-04T20:03:10Z

Nice concept for a puzzle game that fits the theme. Great compo entry. One thing I didn't like is that holding the W key would move the robot forward multiple steps. It doesn't really matter here since there wasn't point scoring for how efficient you are with moves but if you do end up taking this further, it's something to keep in mind.

Falling for my Majesty by edugpinheiro 2023-10-07T18:50:21Z

Fun game. Like the art, the music and the sounds. Sometimes though it seemed like food wasn't collected even when passing over it.

Blob Island by Mathis BRESSAUD 2023-10-07T19:14:01Z

Like the concept. I especially like the conflict between making sure you don't get too small and also having to cover the level with the blob, making it a nice puzzle.

Just Another Sokoban by Harksa 2023-10-04T21:06:22Z

Really fun game. Undoing turns would be handy.

Redneck Renovation by Kylazaur 2023-10-03T19:42:54Z

Fun game. The art, voice acting and humour are all great. I did actually think of making a game that covers "making more space" based on the theme, but I don't think I would have approached it this way!

Limited Space Escape Rooms by AlbionBrown 2023-10-07T18:53:42Z

Seems like the zip is invalid now

Caved In by primed-pixel 2023-10-03T19:48:26Z

Loved the game. I liked how dying didn't mean I had to restart from the same place but continue from where I died. The one-bit graphics is simple for very effective and the soundtrack is great too.

Star Step by Kyle Spence 2023-10-04T20:08:22Z

Fun idea of using the gun to propel yourself. Didn't realise there were mag boots until I checked the controls after completing it. It wasn't always clear as to why you're taking damage though (other than being hit by turrets).

M8B1674-00D4 by a327ex 2023-10-04T20:31:52Z

A simple, but fun puzzle game. Very polished.

An issue I had was that it wasn't that responsive using the HTML 5 when trying to move the pieces. It worked absolutely fine using the Windows build though.

Hoverspace by DeltaMain 2023-10-04T20:26:02Z

A very polished game for just 3 days. I like the idea of space being a resource that you can purchase, or sacrifice for more upgrades.

Only critique was that it wasn't immediately clear that boost would move in the direction of your cursor, especially since you're using WASD for movement when not boosting.

Other than that, more enemy types and maybe variety in the arena and I think you're on to a winner.

Bubble Pets by treenut 2023-10-03T20:09:30Z

Cute game. The pets rolling around and exploding gave me a laugh.

Waterskin by HexyVexy 2023-10-03T20:41:26Z

Loved the atmosphere of the game. I was surprised how invested I was after a couple of days.

LazerPhaser by EvilMurlock 2023-10-07T19:00:50Z

Fun puzzle game. There do seem to be some placewhere you can't place a mirror in a particular position when standing at another despite being adjacent to it.

Tiny Tower by Martin Bousquet 2023-10-04T20:51:19Z

A very polished compo game. Took a little bit to figure out the bomb timing. Great use of the theme.

Museum by Poroli 2023-10-03T20:59:34Z

Loved the game overall and the individual games. The creepy atmosphere really added to the game.

Cat Games by alzhu1 2023-10-07T19:29:06Z

I did like the limited jump mechanic/pun. It would have been nice to be able to restart levels in the middle of playing, but that might have been due to running out of time.

Compact Factory by BrokenBridge 2023-10-03T19:56:43Z

Interesting idea and it was fun trying to optimise things. Though it didn't appear that you could remove things that you've already placed (even if it was at a loss). The fact that the selections each turn are random makes this even more annoying.

The Shroud by Etienne Robert 2023-10-03T20:21:00Z

Great game for a jam. The visuals and audio are fantastic. Cool use of the theme using light as limiting the space.

Two tiny bits of criticism - I don't like that you have to be in the middle of moving to attack, though this might just be a personal preference - the "Your Score" and the actual number sit on top of each other, making it a little hard to read.

Shrinking Nightmare by thanikTheDev 2023-10-04T20:54:13Z

Windows build doesn't seem to work. I think you need the `.pck` file and possibly the data folder as well.

Dino Extinction by Ryn 2023-10-07T19:05:30Z

Score: 14545

The extra dino doesn't really add much to the difficulty if you have the two of them follow each other. Eventually you just get stuck with too many craters.

LD55 — Summoning

BIRD SOUP by jefvel 2024-04-21T16:24:15Z

This is a really fun game despite being deceptively simple in terms of its controls. This is already so well polished and complete for a Compo game.

Chess Summoner by Azathothep 2024-04-27T20:10:59Z

Really cool variation of chess, including attacking your opponent to win. Also looks really good and I love the art style. With some audio and a bit of polish it could be a great release.

The Summoners by digital bacon 2024-04-27T20:01:50Z

A nice game. Though it's quite easy and you don't get much feedback with regards to what is going on.

Elemancer by Tomssuli 2024-04-27T19:48:54Z

Fun little game. Like the summoning mechanics and the music.

Ethereal Tower by Zliebowitz 2024-04-21T15:50:55Z

Very solid Tower Defence game that already feels well polished while also having a variety of enemies and towers.

Mean Minion Mage by Rowlof 2024-04-27T19:56:21Z

Fun little game. Like the twist that you're summoning enemies. Though I couldn't figure out how to kill my summoned enemies without hurting myself.

Toys vs Zombies by RollCreators 2024-04-21T15:30:41Z

Creative mechanics with both the rhythm game and the claw machine. Art and music are also both great. I think if you wanted to take it further you would just need more zombie and toy varieties.

Hell Spawn by Babaorhum 2024-04-21T16:01:24Z

Love the art style and the general mechanics. I don't like the fact that if you mess up a placement you have to restart, but that's just a personal preference.

Magikitty Fights The Sea by xett 2024-04-21T16:10:34Z

I like the art style and music and sound. I would say that the controls to cast spells is a bit clunky. I would prefer either not have to switch to a casting mode, or to automatically exit from the casting mode once a valid combination is entered, maybe using the Shift key to reset if you entered an incorrect one. However, you would be limited in the number of valid arrow presses you would have.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

The Noir Library by Jeffez 2024-10-19T21:44:17Z

Cute little game. The graphics have a charm of their own despite not being the most polished.

The Battle Ants by niterich 2024-10-19T22:05:22Z

Cool idea. Though it was bit too easy. Carpenter ants on their own were enough.

Little Defenders by Ty Victorson 2024-10-19T21:14:39Z

A good start. As others have mentioned, some health bars and group select would be really useful.

Sorcerer's Tower by MaxDrago 2024-10-22T20:43:37Z

Really impressive game for a solo effort in just three days.

We Little Three by Prismapunch 2024-10-22T21:00:42Z

Loved the graphics and the mood of the game. It's all very well polished. The only thing I'd ask for is more puzzles.

King of the Hill by john-wuller 2024-10-19T21:07:35Z

Funnily enough, I was initially planning to do a game related to ants for this jam but decided to do something else.

This definitely has potential with polish and more mechanics. The pathing could use a bit of work. I've found that my ants would get stuck behind the hill.

Homunculi by AlpalcaLad 2024-10-17T18:15:46Z

I like the concept. Though couldn't figure out how to jump.

Cursed Lil' Frog by Jetmarch 2024-10-22T20:31:39Z

Fun little puzzle game. Might be cool to add more potions with different effects and trade-offs.

Bactoria by GiomomoGiovanna 2024-10-19T21:58:13Z

Really enjoyed it. It's so well polished for three days.

Tiny Crowd by Kateryna 2024-10-19T21:38:53Z

Solid puzzle game. Simple mechanics, but a lot of variety. I liked the trade-off you could have when getting rid of a random cell.

Fungi by Zoyette 2024-10-22T20:19:14Z

Really well polish game for a game jam. One suggestion would be being able to spawn a new platform when you want, rather than waiting for the old one to disappear.

Tiny Busters by VMormoris 2024-10-22T20:40:09Z

Pretty cool game for a jam. I like the overheating/cooldown mechanic. Needs some music for atmosphere.

Spirit Stumps by amooseinaroom 2024-10-19T21:34:24Z

Very cool that this was done with a custom language and no existing engine. Like the pikmin-like mechanics.

LD57 — Depths

Abyss Vaulter by sinclairstrange 2025-04-17T21:00:05Z

A really polished jam game, especially for a solo effort! Default controls are a bit weird but they can be remapped.

Nine Lives Deep by Simon Rahnasto 2025-04-19T15:47:18Z

This is such a polished game for just 3 days. Love the art style and the anchor mechanic.

The Earth Treasures Show: Season 4 by Rolly 2025-04-19T15:41:00Z

Cool game and looks great for a compo game. The underwater movement took a bit to get used to but other that I enjoyed it.

Out Of My Depth by okuar 2025-04-13T21:27:17Z

The concept is pretty cool and it's cool that this was all done on a tablet.

One thing that might have been cool to add was that since it appears to be a top down view, to have the blood be a trail behind.

Leap of Faith by Kyrios 2025-04-13T21:17:58Z

Loved the art and music. I wonder if I would have preferred an extra mechanic e.g. having to destroy things rather than dodge them, but it works really well.

That Underground Level by andrewkennedy 2025-04-13T21:51:16Z

This is absurdly polished for a compo game. Well done! Loved the ambient soundtrack but with motifs from other games dispersed throughout e.g. Mario underground theme when moving to the next screen.

Asteronaut by Leykal 2025-04-13T21:40:51Z

Like the art and music. I also like how it's almost like pinball in a circle except you are the ball and you get to control your direction somewhat.

DepthBorne by I_POTS 2025-04-17T21:20:22Z

Great looking and sounding game. D as forward took a bit of time to get used to but I figured it out in the end.

Was the environment/level design hand crafted or procedurally generated?

LD58 — Collector

Heart Collector by khaotom 2025-10-24T18:55:56Z

A really good entry. I liked how relaxing it was with combination of the music and the low frame rate animations.

Collector's case by HeadZerg 2025-10-24T14:14:03Z

I'm a sucker for packing puzzle games and this one is great. Love the setting and it is very well polished for a jam game. Love the art style.

#rizzfest2k25 by alexrose 2025-10-13T20:07:58Z

Really well polished for a three day game jam. I never got tired Chad shouting all of the pickup lines.

WIN WIN WIN by terryg 2025-10-20T20:54:01Z

I liked the metaprogression aspect of it. I think what might improve this is a variety in the statues e.g. ones that reward more but are harder to get.

Restless Souls by Swynfel 2025-10-24T18:34:11Z

A nice start for a project that can be developed more. The mix of turn based combat but with free movement (as opposed to a grid) was interesting.

Mechmories by Shess 2025-10-24T07:53:37Z

This seems to be working now. The story is great and overall the game is really polished for a jam game. Great job!

Little Timmy, Big Dreams by AncientEntity 2025-10-24T19:25:27Z

Fun fast paced game. Liked how the music got more intense with each day. The picking up the trash task would be annoying sometimes when it ended up behind the clock.

Stellar Salvage by Peter Jonsson 2025-10-21T19:25:09Z

Love the visuals and the music, but it wasn't really clear what the salvage actually was, or what the question mark and exclamation mark were for. I liked that you had to accelerate in the opposite direction to slow down.

ScrapheapSprint by sketchycode 2025-10-19T21:09:50Z

The concept of having the building phase determine the controls is very cool. The short timer meant it was very easy to end up building weird configurations.

The Key Keeper by megalukes 2025-10-24T12:28:40Z

Great entry. I love the mostly monochrome style but with the occasional color accents. The amount of polish it already is great even though it was done within 3 days.

Sugar Crash Clair by epb9000 2025-10-24T19:13:38Z

Quite fun and appropriate for the season. I liked the music and how getting rewards made the game more difficult.

Tiny Monsters by Helen 2025-10-24T19:06:37Z

Really like the art style but the game is a bit short. I think just adding a bit more to the gameplay e.g. moving things to reveal monsters would have made this quite interesting.

Dragon, the collector by Aleksey Salion 2025-10-24T19:18:42Z

Love the art style. Some of the text is a bit difficult to read though

Block Head Meat Mage by Paul Merkamp 2025-10-23T20:37:52Z

The concept is so cool and the polish for a Jam game is excellent.

Postage (has web version) by treenut 2025-10-24T08:21:18Z

Like a much less stressful and dystopian Papers Please. However, I've found the stamps don't do anything on the web version.

Out of Chalk by JustCore 2025-10-13T20:19:28Z

Loved the atmosphere and sound. And I liked the twist on the standard sokoban by including moving enemies.

F.L.O.P by Pentaworks 2025-10-13T19:57:55Z

Interesting concept Though I couldn't figure out how to get the penguin to jump without flying off into space (which was funny).

Super Axolotl Adventure by Dianavi 2025-10-18T14:20:58Z

Loved the concept of the achievements themselves being the main focus of the gameplay. Music and art style are great.

I don't care who the IRS sends by BlueDandelion 2025-10-24T19:33:56Z

Like the visuals and the gameplay. Though it was pretty easy to figure out the optimal strategy for defence. Maybe defence degradation might have made it more interesting.

Call Hector, Organ Collector by TheLastSlowpoke 2025-10-17T21:29:35Z

A cool concept about collecting for different blood types. Enjoyed the scanning mechanic to figure out which victims have the right blood type.

Gnalgamation by Shasaur 2025-10-23T21:04:29Z

Loved the concept of collecting things and the cards. Loved the music. Loved the gnomes and the gnome puns.

Super Fly by Tsaot 2025-10-24T18:58:57Z

I think more variety in the gameplay would make this more interesting. It was very easy to collect the frogs.

Junk Protocol by Palerus7 2025-10-23T19:50:17Z

Fun game. For whatever reason my aim wasn't quite right with the mouse, though it's possible that's because I was running it on a 16:10 monitor.

Party Seal Collectathon by EagleZ 2025-10-24T19:03:37Z

Fun little game. I was thinking when I was playing that the visuals reminded me of something like Banjo-Kazooie and then I saw your description!.

Give Me A Grin by Millie 2025-10-24T19:10:38Z

Quite fun. I think the intro text was a bit slow and you can't seem to skip it. Also. It seemed like the upper cupboards didn't seem to open?

Raccoon Captain: Cosmic Feast by Ruolin Zhao 2025-10-24T18:49:34Z

Loved the art style and the soundtrack. Having two different keys for putting the mask on and taking it off was a bit strange. I think a toggle using the same key would have worked better. On top of that, maybe just a generic "interaction" key for both picking up and eating.

The Ether Collector by ophiene 2025-10-24T18:43:54Z

An impressive game for a jam entry. I could imagine just trying to coordinate so many people was a challenge. The contrast between the pixelated character sprites and the landscape was a bit jarring though.

ICE BOMB RUNNER by JasmineJ2003 2025-10-24T18:38:32Z

Very good job for a first game jam entry. Certainly better than mine was. I would say that it wasn't always clear what the interactions would end up doing. I think they just move platforms?

Wishdom Teeth Pact by Ali Enver Sevgi 2025-10-17T21:25:54Z

Love the whole idea of collecting different types of teeth. The art and music are great. One thing I didn't quite like was having to go back and forth between the rules and the person's mouth.

LD59 — Signal

Beams of Bermuda by blinry 2026-04-29T20:42:26Z

Enjoyed the music, atmosphere and the main mechanics. However, I feel like the ships were quite slow and I was a bit bored.

Kiipu by Zathnic 2026-04-29T20:30:10Z

A slightly tricky platformer with simple mechanics. I love the sound design and music

Signal from the Stars by kassanu 2026-04-26T10:38:55Z

Very cool game that fits the theme well. I enjoyed the filtering aspect. As others have mentioned, it would be good to have the codebook available when decoding. Overall, a great compo game.

Family channel by squirrelsoft 2026-05-04T13:27:04Z

Love the art style and the audio. I was surprised by how engaging the game was with such a simple mechanic.

the_Core by remusnomos 2026-04-26T10:09:09Z

Love how tranquil but slightly unsettling the atmosphere is. The LIDAR dots are very cool.

WiFi Trouble by rangoiv 2026-04-21T19:49:27Z

Love the concept. To polish it, an undo option would be great. Maybe adding a preview of the range covered, but the choice not to include it might be intentional.

Signal The Charge by Ty Victorson 2026-05-01T21:04:37Z

Quite easy to play, but I liked all ofthe sound effects.

Signal Surfer by Ausstein 2026-05-02T15:52:25Z

A fun and very cool take on the game. The mouse control was a bit awkward, as it didn't always register movement, though that might have just been my mouse.

Iron Maiden by VladImperator 2026-04-24T21:11:19Z

Very cool atmosphere. Loved the destruction effects and the lighting.

What's Up? UFO! by picross 2026-05-04T14:03:56Z

This is probably the best game I've played this Ludum Dare. The atmosphere is great, the gameplay loop is simple but engaging (ever increasing upgrades helps with this), and the overall art and sound direction is really excellent for a jam game.

I would say however, that using the laser at the end was a little anti-climactic, and occasionally the tractor beam would get stuck against objects, particularly buildings. I was also a little disappointed that there was no victory screen. Overall, though, a great entry and you should be proud of what you have all accomplished!

Goobers by Alopar 2026-04-24T20:58:21Z

Well polished game in all aspects. Maybe I just didn't get far enough but it would have been cool to see more variety with gradually bigger enemies.

Pioneer, Arecibo, Voyager by JamieOK 2026-05-01T21:56:53Z

Cool take on the theme. I liked the sound design. However, keyboard controls would have improved the experience a bit.

On Ivy Boulevard by python-b5 2026-04-26T10:17:01Z

Love the atmosphere and how the characters are interesting even with a minimal amount of dialogue and minimalistic art.

Junction Keeper by Richard Baltrusch 2026-05-02T15:57:17Z

I like the take on the theme. Simple controls but the behaviour can get quite complex.

An interesting idea. The camera controls are quite awkward and it feels like the FoV is a bit off.

Fun game with a great soundtrack. Though I found I could just hold left click and keep shooting.

This is a great idea for the theme. I love how you combined the controls with the soundtrack itself. I did find the controls to be a little awkward.

Fun game. Love the CRT style graphics and the sound effects and ambiance.

Love the atmosphere and graphics. Reminded me a lot of Papers, Please as others have mentioned.

Traffic Jam by MountainGoose 2026-04-21T20:02:31Z

Congrats on the first game jam! I initially also had an idea to do traffic lights but went with something else so I'm happy someone else had a go at it. I would say that it was pretty easy to figure out the solution and moving the labels rather than the lights themselves was a bit clunky.

Gorgeous art, soundtrack and atmosphere.

The embedded doesn't seem to load, but I played the downloadable version.

I think the art style is pretty cool. Despite being rush hour, there isn't any traffic to avoid. Also, the controls are very basic and a bit boring. If you had to accelerate and decelerate, I think it would have added more interest.
