LD38 — A Small World

Murky Mind by Karai17 2017-05-02T15:09:36Z

I find it hilarious that it is a LD entry based on a previous LD entry. LD-ception! I am beyond amazed at the progress that you guys are making with Löve3d and for me it is a mandatory part of LD to check your game out. So don't miss an LD :D

Visually it looks great and performs well without any bugs or issues. Great entry!

Breakout Bunny by Budaniel 2017-05-16T08:52:45Z

I love rabbits, used to have one as a pet. I feel like this game captures the rabbit lifestyle very well :D

Impressive with 3d for a gamejam and very well made coherent graphics in general.

Fun entry! :)

Every World Has a Pizzeria by Lucas Trevisan 2017-05-04T17:57:38Z

I have to start off by letting you know that I ate pizza while playing your game. This game feels nostalgic in many ways, in a good way. Visually it is very impressive and I love the snow-globe idea, it fits the theme like a glove and just gives an overall cozy feeling. I think that the car handles perfectly, it isn't super easy to drive, but it has that goofy arcade feeling that just makes it more fun. Great job! :)

Fugue Gevoelens by josefnpat 2017-05-02T15:24:49Z

This was a very interesting experience. The music and sounds really tie the game together and create a Zelda-esc atmosphere (If that doesn't make any sense and you think that I am crazy check this out: https://youtu.be/sbA46-KjoHk?t=2m6s ). It would really fit great in a game as a puzzle of some sort, maybe as a gatekeeper on a door that you need to "please" in order to gain access, but if you anger it then... well bad things happen. I really love short experiences like this that are soooo well done. Everything is so coherent and well tuned.

I also really appreciate the video that you made, it was a lot of fun to learn more about what and how you had made it. Impressive that you managed to have time to make that fancy editor.

All in all, really great entry. I Löve it! :)

Near kingdoms by Hadik 2017-05-02T08:30:13Z

Going into this I thought that I knew exactly what this game was going to be like, as a kid I used to play many similar games on sites like miniclip. But you have managed to create a game with a much deeper strategical possibilities. The resource gathering aspect makes it feel a lot more like an RTS than a clicker game. You have to constantly be gathering wood while making sure that you have troops that are walking in front and protecting the workers. I played mainly on Hard difficulty (because I am not a filthy casual ;D ) and it am glad to say that it took multiple rounds of getting my ass whopped before things started to work out.

I encountered no bugs and the game overall feels like a very solid entry, the graphics were coherent and pleasing to look at and most importantly they were easy to read and understand what everything did.

This game would be fantastic on the mobile, I would download it in a heartbeat, so please continue the development and let me know if you release it for the app store! :)

Tiny Politics by francoisvn 2017-05-03T16:48:41Z

What a nice and different entry you have made! I played it for a lot longer than I was anticipating (until year 9) and loved the strategy. With some modification I think that this would be a great physical "boardgame" / "card game" that you could play against your friends. I hope that you consider developing this further :)

A Giant's Tale by TheGamer1123211 2017-05-04T22:32:10Z

I am very impressed at how complete this game feels for a compo entry! The growing and shrinking mechanic is unique and interesting and is used it many cool ways. The dialog is clever and fun to read, it is very easy that text in games becomes too long to bother to read.

Overall a really great entry, well done! :)

Nucleu by agentparsec 2017-05-04T22:04:37Z

This is a real "feel-good-game", it just feels... good! Amazing music, really cute and beautiful graphics and a fun game idea. It's really rare to come across a compo game that does everything so well. The amount of polish is also really high, Great job!

It's a Small World, So Let's Crash It into Things by simonhutchinson 2017-05-05T00:51:55Z

Hah, the dark-matter chasing you was really creepy (well it is almost 3 am here in Sweden, but still), kudos for making voice acting, and for the sound in general. Overall its a fantastic entry; It's simple, well executed and very polished. In other words verything you could wish for in an entry. I ended up playing this for a very long time, thanks for a great game :)

Island Boom (but it's cats so it's okay) by adrian0901 2017-05-03T15:44:21Z

A really cool "Worms"-game! I love the fact that you can play local multiplayer, we need more of that in games in general. It's very nice that there are so many different weapons and the destructable terrain is super cool. Combine that with the fact that the levels are randomly generated and that there is an AI and I am very impressed over how you managed to fit all of that in such a short amount of time.

Very nice entry.. But its cats so it is actually a...SUPER AWESOME ENTRY!

Tilil by Roberto Romao 2017-05-04T23:43:43Z

This is incredible, you have made so many features and such a complex game in 32 hours. It was a lot of fun to try and keep my little city alive, you grow attached to things that you get to design yourself. It was well balanced although it took me a bit of time before I understood what to do, the text tutorial was a bit rough to get through. Visually very nice looking game as well :)

Awesome job!

Pieni Saari by JasperDev 2017-05-03T15:51:18Z

This is the most polished and overall well made entry that I have come across. The graphics are absolutely gorgeos and everything feels like it belongs together in a nice coherent way. It's very interesting how this game combines genres (RPG and Puzzle) to create a unique hybrid.

There is also a lot of great dialog that is just the icing on the cake.

Fantastic job!

(Otti minut vähän aikaa ymmärtää että nimi oli suomeksi :D )

A World In Her Eye by OrbitalBlueprint 2017-05-02T00:24:18Z

As promised on the Löve forums here is my more in-depth feedback of "A World In Her Eye". First of all, the atmosphere is just fantastic, this is achieved from a coherent look, feel and sound. I really appreciate the amount of audio in this game, an otherwise often forgotten and neglected area in Ludum Dare entries. I love the visuals, there is an insane amount of work and overall polish that is rare to find in a game made in such a short time.

The walk animation just works, its simple and only 2 directions, but it ties into the games, in lack of a better word humor and just enhances the gameplay. I absolutely love the ladder "scene", it could very easily have been annoying to have to climb it up and down, but it was implemented in a way that just made the world more immersive.

The 3 best things with this game is that it is: #1 brave, doing things differently. #2 Has great cohersive graphics and #3 has incredible audio.

Really well done, one of my absolute favourite entries that I have come across over the 8 Ludum Dare events that I have participated in.

The Bugs World by gagapete 2017-05-04T21:16:02Z

One of my ideas that we didn't go with this jam was to make an RTS, a genre close to my heart. I really think that you managed to make controls perfect, I really feel like I am in control and the bugs do as I please. One of the key things that lead to this is that you allow for selection of all idle bugs with "E". I am going to stea... uhm... Lend this when I decide to make an RTS myself.

I like how the game is very simplistic and straight to the point, yet still offers a lot of strategic choice. It was very hard and took me a long time before I started to win, but it felt more rewarding this way. The visuals are very nice and coherent and the entire game feels very well made and polished for a 48hour entry, very impressive!

The Space Dwarf Brigade by BionicalBarbieDoll 2017-05-02T00:04:51Z

If you have barley done game-development and still managed to complete a Ludum Dare then you should be very proud of yourself! It is a really good start, the core of the game is very solid (I encountered no bugs) and you follow the theme to a T. Audio would obliviously have been nice, but it is not needed as you can just make pew pew sounds yourself ;D

Great job!!!

Ant Clicker - Ready for your reviews!!! by AndyNice 2017-05-01T23:55:02Z

This is my favorite clicker game that I have come across. I may not have played all that much of clicker games so I don't quite know if the tiers are balanced or not, but to me they seem fine and I was able to progress at a rate that was not fast enough, but still kept me interested. But the strength of this game is that it manages to create a calm and cozy atmosphere with it's superb visuals and audio. Small things like a spider that climbs down on web adds to the feeling that this is a window to a place with life. There is an very high level of polish to the game, everything feels well thought out and carefully crafted. It is very peaceful, you actually feel like you are sitting in the forest and just observing. It obviously nails the theme, the small world of ants is both interesting and a nice change of theme from all of the space games that I have played so far.

Well done, this is one of very few LD entries that I think I will be playing again :) !

AaaRrr - Fight epic battles on our small (and flat) world by Hackschnitzel 2017-05-16T18:02:02Z

Really fun how similar our entries are in some aspects indeed (even the name :D). It's great that you made a local multiplayer game, something that I wish there was more of in both gamejams and on the general game market. The idea is very innovative, its fun to play in the "sumo wrestling" style and it is a perfect concept for a party game. I imagine this could get quite popular if you continued development, I imagine a lot of powerups and other partyesc features. It's a great feature that the water is flowing off the world and that you are pulled out coninually, it makes it feel "scary" and "urgent" and just adds a ton of fun.

Visually think it looks very nice as well, everything is very coherent and feels good.

Great job fellow pirates, lets teach those landlubbers what we are made of!

Project 9414 by Atavismus 2017-05-02T18:56:24Z

A very nice entry, the game has a surprising amount of depth to it and has a real sense of accomplishment when you manage to get your small planet from a pile of dirt to a nice living place. At first I didn't quite understand the blackholes and how to defeat them, but after a while I got the hang of things, much thanks to the good hover over information that you provide. Everything looks and feels nice and is graphically coherent and well made.

Overall a great game!

LD39 — Running out of Power

Power Plant Simulator. by BroRawr 2017-08-03T15:33:46Z

This was a really cool take on the theme, litterally generating power to prevent it from running out and also drinking coffee for personal power, something I think most of us did a lot during the gamejam :D

Graphics are very nice and coherent, everything looks and feela right, nothing out of place and that leads to a great game feel. Same goes for the audio, really great.

There is just a ton of work that has gone in to this, I love the feedback for an example, something we all can learn from this entry.

I also digg the "crazy-professor" look. Reminds me of futurama and rick and morty. Character design is very important and you nailed it. Great work overall, fantastic game :)

Power Plant Simulator. by BroRawr 2017-08-03T15:33:46Z

Ludum Dare website + internet lag = sorry for tripple post.

Power Plant Simulator. by BroRawr 2017-08-03T15:33:46Z

I will use this 3rd accidental post to once again say good job on making such a great game :D

Running Out Of Tiles by BORB 2017-08-02T17:20:35Z

What a unique and interesting mechanic. I would love to see it expanded upon, I am sure it could turn into a very nice puzzle game, it already is great (short, but sweet). Here is me playing through the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPcU4lW7maU

Very well done! :)

p o w e r ARM by xand 2017-08-01T23:19:10Z

This game feels so great and polished, like a complete package. It is absolutely insane how you managed to cram in so much features in a compo. Hands down the best audio I have heard in a compo game, SFX are on point and great music combined with gorgeous and coherent graphics and so much gameplay make this an amazing entry. I love the quirky humor as well, a lot of though was put into making this.

idk by ulydev 2017-08-05T16:35:56Z

I don't understand how you managed to make such a slick, addictive and innovative score-attack game, while just causally making it on such a short time on an airport. I really want you to continue development of this and get it on the app store asap. I will buy it, and I will make other people buy it, because it is already that good.

I don't know how to put words on how good this is, but put it like this: I would not mind you winning overall and in innovation. If you are outside of top 3, I will be enraged!

Great job!

Escape Velocity by Klowner 2017-08-02T17:50:43Z

This is an amazing entry. I love how innovative it is, all I could think of while playing this was "WOW, Imagine if someone took this concept and made it into a game like Faster than Light. How cool would it be to run around on your spaceship and repair it, power certain things, take control of different parts (like cannons) etc.

Fits the theme like a glove, one of the best interpretations of it in fact.

Here is a video of me playing the game for about 10minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUHqutlTyVg (as of writing it is still processing, since I recorded 1080p with 60fps it might take a while)

The fact that it made me actually laugh is just another indicator to how great and fun it is. (It was so hilarious when the ship had lost the floor and I didn't notice and just plunged down to my death.)

The destruction is very cool as well, made me want to go again just to wreck the ship after completing the game.

Really... Really!, REALLY! Well done mate! :)

Long Distance Runner by easy82 2017-08-02T00:24:21Z

I do long distance running myself, so the obvious goal was to make sure that Will had enough willpower to run as far as I do (I run half marathons) after like 20 attempts I ... err... Will finally managed: Untitled.png

Music and sound design are topnotch, the graphics are really nice and coherent, would love to have a full version of this on my phone.

Great job! :)

ZETPACK-99 by verysoftwares 2017-08-02T17:02:58Z

Awesome game dude! It is a really clever puzzle game that has a lot of thought behind it. I enjoyed figuring things out and it was fun to play. I like the art style, it is simple, but elegant and stylish. Nice music as well. It took me a bit to figure things out but that's just fun. I absolutely LOVE the trap that you made with right before you get the ability to remove your trail. That's an evil genius at work.

Here is my experience of the first 10ish minutes of your game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yvU9qg6Vy8&

You should consider making this into a full game, I think it would make a nice mobile app.

ZETPACK-99 by verysoftwares 2017-08-02T17:02:58Z

Accidental double post. But I'll just take the chance to say that the game is great again :)

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Spring Clean – DO NOT CROSS by blinry 2017-12-06T13:08:40Z

This was such a cute game! Really well done. I love how its kind of 2 games in 1. First it is an interesting take on the jezzball / Qix formula (which I am a big fan of, our first commercial game was in this genre).

The second part is making paths for the rumba, I don't agree with other people that the behavior of the rumba is bad, I think it adds to the game-play. I actually find it quite funny to get mad at the rumba when it turns JUST before the last piece of dirt :D

Visually the game is very well made and has nice and coherent assets. Overall cute-level is 10/10. Audio complements the visuals and pushes the cute-meter to 11/10.

One does wonder though if we should all pitch in and get the poor girl a normal vacuum cleaner, because this rumba buisiness is not really working out :D

The more hair you have... by Naca 2017-12-07T02:43:02Z

Yeah you guys got me too, I clicked on it thinking that it was made by a bunch of 12 year old boys and left with a good and wholesome message! Really well made and great visuals.

Infested by Megalink 2017-12-07T02:50:57Z

Wow, this game has so much polish. I love the feel of the shooting, it's so satisfying! Gear visuals overall, everything is coherent and fits together nicely.

There are so many small details that just make this feel so complete and polished, one of my favorites is that the grass moves when you walk over it. Just a very nice touch and shows how much effort you put into crafting this great entry.

The enemies are all very cool and behave as one would expect them to do, it was very interesting to discover and explore around in this odd world, Great job!

Aurora by AkirAssasin 2017-12-07T13:51:58Z

The mechanic is very nice and innovative and ties perfectly into the theme. I loved how calm and nice it felt to play. A chill bullet-hell game, there something I never expected to experience :D

BaconMan by josefnpat 2017-12-06T02:02:33Z

It is a very cool concept and gets more and more crazy the longer you survive. It takes a lot of multitasking and coordination to keep juggling all the things that you need to do.

When you get into a flow or a nice "circle of life" you feel really good about yourself :D I had a sequence where I had 1 arm put new bacon and then go hit a monster while the other hand picks up a done bacon and eat it and then go for new bacon

I like the style of the game, it is very funny and huge cudos for the voice acting, 11/10!

Graveyard Shift by radmccool 2017-12-08T18:52:10Z

hahaha, the physics of the enemies are great! I like the sense of humor that this entry has (similar to my entry). The mechanic ties in with the theme perfectly as well. Great job and very impressive for a compo entry!

Decisions by Xkeeper 2017-12-05T22:49:55Z

It is difficult to talk about the game without spoiling it. But what I can say is: It is very much worth playing.

Highly recommended and excellent entry :D

Winter Sleep by cenullum 2017-12-07T10:36:57Z

I disagree with the comments about this game having lackluster graphics. I think they are fantastic and fit the game very well. The art-style together with the music sets the tone and builds a very nice mood.

Fun game, a bit of a spiritual sibling to my own entry :)

Great job!

Captain Capsize by Lance Krasniqi 2017-12-07T10:53:04Z

Arrr! What a fantastic game! I love the pirate theme (we actually made a pirate game for LD#38), the graphics are so nice and coherent.

The idea to throw your own parts create interesting and innovative gameplay. One of the best games this LD!!

Rattendorf by NoAim91 2017-12-05T22:18:06Z

I am so in love with this game, it is one of few games that I have given a near perfect score in every category.

First of all, how the amount of polish in this game is out of this world. I have never seen a LD game with save and load game, like wow. And then you have small QoL things like time control and an amazing UI. Graphics are stunning and audio just feels so right.

I love strategy games and this hits home on every level. Please consider further development, I would 100% buy this game :)

Servant of Greed by miki 2017-12-06T18:41:52Z

I like the Egyptian style graphics a lot, they fit the idea around the game really well. There is something poetic about being crushed by all the stuff that you collected in your greed. And the getting crushed part is also my favorite animation of the game, it is very gruesome, but cool! I played this a long time, I love score-attack games, my highest is just over 300:

3.png

I am so happy I managed to get JUST over 300, would have been so annoyed if it was like 298 :D

The mechanics are simple, but effective. Movement feels spot on and difficulty is spot on. It feels very satisfying when you get into a good flow of only picking up gems. I tried a few times with picking up gems and boots or gems and scythes, but generally I feel that this works a lot worse.

Can you beat my score? You have been challenged!

Kittychaos by larkinia 2017-12-06T18:00:55Z

What an adorable game, I really like the text and the premise of the game a ton! The graphics are incredibly cute and well made. I love how the "little human" randomly picks you up and moves you somewhere else.

I managed to get a decent score,

2.png

What is your highest? :)

Fantastic entry overall, I löve it!

The Tulpa by nahual 2017-12-06T18:15:53Z

Hoooooolyy... What a gem I have found! This game looks amazing, I think it is the best looking Ludum Dare game that I have come across so far! I love the atmosphere, the different camera angles are super cool and I love how the player is 2d while the rest is 3d. Being able to bump into things and have them move just feels soooo good. My favorite room is the one with the clock, the ticking is so effect-full.

When I am playing this I get Amnesia vibes, it feels scary and creepy, but in a fantastic way without jump scares but rather through the ambiance.

Fantastic entry guys, you should be really proud. And for all of our sake, continue development on this, I would pay to play a full version of this game. It is just that good!

Necrothrone by CiaranW 2017-12-07T02:39:46Z

I think the game looks just as good as it plays! I am very impressed you managed to do all of this alone, and to code it from scratch is just hardcore! :D

Great entry!

Cloud Love by azdraws 2017-12-06T17:03:44Z

Audio and visuals are really well made and suitable for both the theme of the game and fit together to form a coherent experience. I found it quite a bit of fun to try to figure out what to do, but if someone else is stuck and need help then I will explain it after this image: 1.png

You have to get the boat up to the cloud, hitting the boat will make it sink, this is bad, you love the boat, don't sink your love. It is a very important lesson in life :)

Sally's Dark Adventure by Nia 2017-12-07T13:54:16Z

I enjoyed it a lot, it was very ambitious so it is not odd at all that you ran out of time, I think we all did :D

Great job and great entry!

Sinking Boat by MokubaGames 2017-12-07T18:50:59Z

I like it, welcome to the Ludum dare community and congratulations on making a game in 48hours. I think graphics are cute and they all fit the game very well.

Good idea that stays within the theme :)

Great job

LD42 — Running out of space

Farmageddon by Karai17 2018-08-16T13:54:43Z

And so my tradition of playing your 3d games made with Love2d continues. I can honestly say that once again, you have managed to out do yourself. This is your best entry in my humble opinion! I recorded some gameplay, please forgive my nooby-ness in the beginning. I have not played very many similar games so the first day can be summarized with throwing shit on the ground, watering it and calling it a day.

I do get a hang of it after a little while though, unfortunately my recording stopped about half way in, but I figured that you would still be interested in seeing how the first 10 minutes of your game might look when someone is playing it for the first time.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWjEHW13IgI

Like I express in the video, the graphics are amazing. I really enjoy how everything feels so polished and coherent that you almost forget that you are playing a jam game. It was also ridiculously cute and relaxing. I wish that I had played this sooner, could have helped me calm down after all the stress from this Ludum Dare.

I also found all of the parody names really funny, it's great that you spend a bit of extra time creating them rather than just calling it a store and naming the currency dollars. It adds a lot more than one might think. Another small detail that I appreciated was that the purchase menu is not just a box that appears, but your mobile phone.

Finally I want to give you credit for inventing a good scenario for **why** we are doing all of this. Many similar simulators lack that and often I just feel like "why are we even..." when trying them. The debt aspect makes for a great reason and it makes sense. It also gives you a clear goal that you have to work towards while balancing your account. If you pay off too much you might struggle to generate more currency since you can buy all of the supplies that you need.

Thank you for this super amazing entry! :medal:

Farmageddon by Karai17 2018-08-16T18:49:20Z

@holo Yeah, I was starting to really make bank and even paid off some of the debt.

Sir Dashaton by tjakka5 2018-08-15T16:27:57Z

This is hands down my favorite LD entry of all time. I spent soooooo much time just dashing around and trying to come up with cool "trick shots". I would have love you forever if you make more levels and maybe make a hardmode where they lie on the ground for much longer.

The game feel is just perfect, the visuals look fantastic and you have what I would argue is one of the best introductions to a LD entry ever made. The voice acting is superb, its something we have focused a lot on and I always appreciate entries that go the extra mile and add that in.

Here is a video where I get a prett decent combo :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lkh7sK3bUM

Final Voyage by Simon Rahnasto 2018-09-06T20:03:51Z

@cassio-eduardo As you requested, heres a ping to let you know that we have released a post Jam update. It's pretty big and contains both new content, balance changes and a ton of bug fixes

Spaceabon by Agecaf 2018-08-15T12:35:18Z

This is actually a really cool concept. First of all I find it impressive that you fixed a web version with Löve, something I intend to look into for future jams. The art is all super nice and has a coherent style that just feels perfect. I love all of the small details like that the character has an animation that triggers when you move. Last but not least Music fits the calm gameplay like a glove.

It's insane that you managed to do all of this in a compo. Well done!

Who Z For Dinner by talisra22 2018-08-15T22:11:21Z

Great entry, really cool that you implemented a global leaderboard. Unfortunatly I had a minor error, enemies would no longer spawn after I died once. But that's no big deal, all I needed to do was restart the game. The overall experience was still great!

And oh boy was it a funky experience, the over-the-top wobbling and overall feel is just perfect!

Cardback Dicing by literallyjosh 2018-08-15T21:12:06Z

Fantastic entry, expecting this to place highly :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Foxx3EAixpw

Shrinking Ceiling by drikdrok 2018-08-17T15:15:51Z

Very interesting mechanic that the "time" sort of carries over from level to level. This makes every single level super important, even the easier first levels. That's some good game design right there! At the same time the "time" does reset every X levels, or at least it did on the turret lvl (was it 7 or 8? Can't quite remember), so you are not totally screwed if you mess up a level or two.

I like how you introduce each mechanic one by one and then use these mechanics in many different ways, your game basically has a build in tutorial, and that's great for all games but specially for Ludum Dare entries.

I also recorded some gameplay so that you can see your game in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXG03lKcWc8&

Great entry!

Countdown by Elnu 2018-08-15T17:49:17Z

Finally had a chance to test out the final product, and I must say that I am very impressed. You really managed to take your concept to the next level. Graphics are simple, but coherent and the game just plays very well. I like the particle effects and the ending "cut-scene" is awesome! I could see this being a great game for the mobile market. Good job :)

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Off the Rails 2 by Karai17 2018-12-05T11:46:35Z

The game looks, feels and sounds really great! In many ways it feels like a really cool Nintendo 64 game (and I mean that in the best way possible), specially the music. Grinding worked great, and I have now dabbed for the first time, haha.

Is it weird that I actually really liked the look of "Potato" mode :D ?

Super awesome entry!

Arden's Artisan Artefacts by blinry 2018-12-06T18:19:53Z

This is a very neat entry, I feel like this is a better version of the "shopkeeper"-type games that generally have you construct things after a very specific recipe. But here you get to create stuff the way you want to, and it makes it feel more authentic. I tried to make my stuff look interesting/good as well as ticking off the requirements needed.

The art style is coherent, consistent and very good. Overall a fantastic game

Antlerman by Jiri_One 2018-12-06T01:03:03Z

The art is very nice and coherent and the game in general feels very solid and most importantly, it was fun to play. Great job!

Santaur's Elf Cola by tweedle 2018-12-06T00:50:37Z

Hilarious entry, I love how you used the theme to create a twist on a tower defense game. I have actually never seen anything like this before. The entire experience is very well polished and I had a blast murdering those smug little elves. Great job!

Rude Bear Responsibility by alexrose 2018-12-09T11:03:27Z

I have played your games since LD30 and time after time you create super impressive games, but this one might be one of my favorites. The writing is hilarious, the voice-acting is a fantastic touch and the entire premise is just as silly as I have come to expect from you

I did pretty well, I resisted the temptation to trade the kid for a bunch of meat and eternal power, but the clown got me. I will be giving it another go and try to see if you can actually manage to not lose to him.

Visually this game is super awesome, it has a unique style that and everything just fits, from audio to visuals to story.

Slithering Dark by pkenney 2018-12-06T00:58:47Z

This is a compo game??? Amazing job!

I really REALLY love the bubble shadow effect that you have created. I have never seen anything like that before! This feels so polished, the art is amazing and it's just simply amazing that you managed all of this in 48 hours.

Bomba Ball by bwalter 2018-12-06T09:43:33Z

Fun take on the theme, first sport manager game I have seen in LD, innovative way of implementing the theme with having the goal scorer explode. Its a smart mechanic that also helps make the games more balanced Looks great as well, fantastic compo entry!

Halloween's Sacrifice by tjakka5 2018-12-05T11:20:34Z

I'm here to give feedback and kill gnomes, and the gnomes are no more. I really liked the Voice acting, combined with the super cool sound track it just makes the game sound so good. Great work on the audio! The main game mechanic is tied nicely to the theme and is really cool once you get the hang of it. I loved the cat visually and it has nice animations as well, overall a very nice entry that looks, plays and sounds great!.

~Meow meow Motherfuckers!

Whale-mas by Ranner198 2018-12-07T23:50:57Z

This is incredibly cute, the voice acting is such a nice touch, loved the "Finding Nemo" reference! The funny thing is that I feel like you made the whale move exactly like a magical land whale would move

The graphics are just absolutely stunning for a compo game, one of the best I have seen in fact. The mood is super festive, thanks to the amazing art, sound and especially the cozy lighting effects.

Really enjoyed playing through the game!

PS. I see that you have gotten quite few votes (both in this entry and in your previous ones), in order to get more ratings and comments you need to rate and comment on other games. This brings up your “coolness”-stat, and will bring your game higher up on the list. A good rule of thumb is that you get about 1 vote per game that you vote on, and you need 20 votes on your game to get a score in the end. Because I feel like you have a really good chance at getting a great score! :star:

JLIM by egordorichev 2018-12-06T12:33:56Z

I came across this game and after playing it a bit I started thinking, "hey this reminds me of... wait could it be the same guy that made those great games in the previous LD's?" Checked your profile and sure enough it is. You have a unique style and always make really solid entries. This is no exception to that. Fantastic job!

You Warlock! by AlexHoratio 2018-12-06T11:59:20Z

Nice coherent art style, everything feels polished and well put together, from code to art to sound. It's always impressive to see compo entries that are so well rounded as this. On top of that you used the theme in a good way.

Fantastic entry!

Feasts must be made! by Caffeinated Psychics 2018-12-09T19:00:35Z

Took me a couple of tries to actually find the altar (I must be blind because it's pretty clear), but I managed to win the game when I found it! Good take on the theme, I sacrificed all of them with no remorse

The music is catchy and I love the big guy in the intro screen/victory screen, for some reason it reminds me of Asterix and Obelix. Great entry, well done

Auto-Freeze! 3000© by yyam 2018-12-06T12:03:51Z

They say most things build on the work of dead people, you took this quite literally

Nice use of the theme, graphics are solid, music is fantastic and I am just really impressed that this is a compo entry. My only suggestion would be to limit the amount of people you can sacrifice, so a level might have a 5 man crew, and you need to finish it with those. But then again it is a good practice to make LD entries easy.

Demon Rising by GerardB 2018-12-05T16:04:56Z

Really nice and juicy gameplay! It’s really clear that you spend a lot of time on polishing and adding juice to it, and it really paid off. While still not being ”too much” (perfect amount of screen shake etc). I liked that there were more than one type of enemies as well, it made the gameplay more interesting. Overall great in every way, nice art and great sound!

:)

Pecto by rodel77 2018-12-06T01:13:13Z

I really like the concept of this game (I also have a soft spot for card games) and this was a really fun game to try. The graphics are simple, but very nice and coherent. I also felt like I wanted more of it like @amethystproductions, but that you should consider a good thing and please continue development of it. I think that it could turn into a great game!

Cosmo Buddy by easy82 2018-12-09T11:19:44Z

Fantastic entry, I really dig the art style (seriously, it is incredibly gorgeous), it's just so polished and well put together that I feel like I am playing the first level of a released full game. You used to theme very well, one minor thing that might have been funny is if the dead astronauts remained and the color of their spacesuits shiften (to hammer in the point that it's a new person every time).

Personally I disagree with "pickens-inc" I really liked the controls and the gravity, it felt suitable for the atmospherics since we are not on Earth but on some alien planet.

Nice to see you participating in LD again, even though you seem to have forgotten what true Löve is

Dance Dance SACRIFICES by Ever 2018-12-05T12:11:35Z

HA SHU HU HA SHU HU ~ The sound of me sacrificing everyone :D

The art looks very nice, it's all well put together and coherent. Fits nicely with the theme as you are quite literally making sacrifices. I liked that the patterns were not completely random so you could learn them (almost like combos). This made the game a lot more satisfying to play after a while.

Great humor, I never thought I would play a rhythm sacrifice game haha

PIVOT by literallyjosh 2018-12-05T11:38:21Z

Really smart way of interpreting the theme, one of the best ones I have come across actually. The core mechanics are super interesting and unique (and really impressive). And they just work so well! I agree with @johnlee-cooper that this has a lot of potential, you should really consider expanding it!

Great entry!

Expendibots by pandan 2018-12-06T12:30:26Z

This is the best compo game that I have come across this Ludum Dare. Fantastic job, graphics look amazing, the game idea is unique and fits the theme like a glove!

Necro Moe by Lostrick 2018-12-07T23:11:14Z

Very nice entry! It gets really hectic after a little while and you really need to be good at multitasking to manage. I got a pretty decent zombie army in the end when I figured out how to play: https://i.gyazo.com/04af87c9a36c87b8c86b9e5013668d3a.png

Cute character design and coherent graphics, great job!

PS. I see that this is your first Ludum Dare entry, in order to get more ratings and comments you need to rate and comment on other games. This brings up your "coolness"-stat, and will bring your game higher up on the list. A good rule of thumb is that you get about 1 vote per game that you vote on, and you need 20 votes on your game to get a score in the end.

Legend of Nobutaga by Sorangon 2018-12-07T23:22:17Z

I really like the menu and end game screen art, as well as the pigs' graphical style, it was an interesting mix of 2d and 3d. The music was really nice as well and went great with the overall mood.

PS. I see that this is your first Ludum Dare entry, in order to get more ratings and comments you need to rate and comment on other games. REACHER by foxtrotluna 2018-12-06T00:55:46Z

This was a very different entry (in a positive way), I have not seen anything like this... well ever, and I like it! You managed to make a 2d game genuinely creepy, that's quite an achievement

It looks, playes and sounds good, overall a great entry!

LD44 — Your life is currency

dunkin' dogoos by Karai17 2019-05-01T22:37:12Z

I finally managed to get super dunked while staying jelly! The game is challenging, but not in an unfair way. The key to winning is understanding how the camera works, once you do that it becomes a lot easier. I really like how polished this game feels, it's definitely one of your most "complete" feeling entries.

I wish there were more levels, that's the best critique you can get.

Thank you for a great entry and stay awesome!

Life Business by jk5000 2019-05-02T14:50:01Z

I had a lot of trouble getting past 6 weeks at first, then I changed my strategy a bit and managed to reach 12

Good use of the theme!

Mr. Bank's Journey by Sheepolution 2019-05-04T00:49:15Z

It took me a little bit of time to figure out how to get smashed in your game the proper way. But that was more my own fault than anything else. The game is very clever, I really like how you used the theme. The graphics are super cute and the entire mood of the game just screams Sheepolution quality. Thank you for posting the game to my stream and letting me play it (and thank you for helping me out when I was being a big dum dum).

Just a fantastic entry!

Space Scrapper by Josh6680 2019-05-01T23:28:54Z

I really like score-attack games, and this is no exception  My strategy was to go for attack rate, this is the highest score I managed to get: https://i.gyazo.com/87ea7b7c99b7aee75e1125db1e7e39d5.png

People Poker by randomhuman 2019-05-05T11:59:10Z

I have a list of people that impressed me in previous LD's that I check every time to see if they have made an Entry, you are in that list. I really loved "Guerrilla Gardening" and I found it super cool that you made a specific version for me without screen-shake since it caused issues for me (for whatever reason). But enough about the past, lets talk about "People Poker".

The graphics are stunning, I really love the style, the fact that it's made in Compo is just baffling to me! It's one of the more interesting interpretations of the theme, for some reason I feel like this concept could have been a Futurama episode

Really (punny) funny that you need to make sure you don't get "poked" at the poker table. The whole concept is just fantastic. Even though the game-play is pretty simple, there's quite a bit of depth behind it, you need to make split second decisions on whether or not you play it safe or bolt for the exit.

Overall a fantastic entry!

Hand of Death by josefnpat 2019-05-01T21:23:47Z

The style of this game is just so fantastic. I really REALLY enjoyed every single second of it, when it ended I got so sad. I don't even know where to begin. But here are a few things that I found incredible: - The music combined with the voice acting is just phenomenal. One of the best sounding games I have encountered in my 14 Ludum Dares. - The combined 2d sprites in 3d space just works. It's not easy to accomplish this but you nailed it. - Most of the time a LD entry either has no humor or bad humor, this is one of very few exceptions to that rule, I genuinely found a lot of the lines funny.

It all ties together so well, thank you for making such an incredible experience!

Shop till you drop DEAD by IcyLava 2019-05-03T18:47:58Z

I think this is the compo game that I have enjoyed playing the most, it's just my kind of game. Thank you for coming to the stream and posting it, always nice with a fellow Löve developer. The best part of this game is how much juice and polish it has, it just shines in the game-feel department!

Fantastic job!

Shop till you drop DEAD by IcyLava 2019-05-08T18:19:36Z

I just wanted to come back to let you know that I have been humming on the music, when I realized that I had to come back and raise the audio score from 4.5 to 5, it's honestly one of the best that I have encountered in a compo. You should be proud!

Paristroyer by Cameron Taylor 2019-05-02T14:55:45Z

@jofersgames that would be the loading screen. It confused me as well, but when the image is stretched all the way the game has loaded.

Nice entry, the best part was the great art, and you also managed to use the theme in a good way!

Magical Resonance by tjakka5 2019-05-01T20:18:27Z

This is an amazing entry, there are so many small details that just make the experience on another level compared to what I am used to when playing Jam games. The production quality is baffling! Below are just a few of the many things in your entry that I found amazing:

- The way the screen tilts/rotates instead of standard screen-shake felt really nice, and it was tuned perfectly. - There are so many cool spells, and they each have their own place when they are effective. You can't just spam 1 button and expect to do well. - The particle effects are just top tier. - It's so nice with voice acting, really makes a game stand out in my eyes (or uhm... I guess ears). - Hands down one of the best bosses I have encountered in a Ludum Dare game, the boss had so many cool abilities. - Really impressive art that is coherent and suites the game perfectly. - Great to find a game with a story behind it.

Overall a masterpiece, thank you for making it!

BULLDOZERS! FROM OUTER SPACE by auxC 2019-05-02T23:07:20Z

This entry is giving me a bit of "Black & White" vibes, and I loved that game when I was a kid. The graphics are super good, the music is chill and the setting is very nice. Overall this is just a fantastic entry!

Tecuhtliztacuhxochitl's Sacrifice Simulator by almost 2019-05-02T20:47:45Z

This is one of those games that you NEED to take some time to get into in order to get what the game is about. But when you do that, it is great. Impressive depth for a Ludum Dare entry!

Leaving with Ladders by 100th_Coin 2019-05-01T16:39:33Z

One of the most content rich and well polished compo games that I have played in any of the (now 14) Ludum Dares that I have participated in. One of the best things that you did was how well you tutorialized it, you manage to convey how to play the game, what to do, and how to do it. You gate the player from progressing too far and getting confused and explain new things along the way.

And then you somehow managed to create a nice coherent art style AND fantastic audio.

Great job!

noPRAVDA by katamary 2019-05-02T22:57:32Z

Really nice and unique art style, I feel like it has great potential in a full release game, please consider that! The audio was also really cool, and added a lot to the overall feel and mood of the game.

Great job!

Million dollar robot: Fear the forklift by squirrelsoft 2019-05-02T15:01:43Z

It reminds me of Robot Wars, something that I really enjoyed watching as a kid. When I got used to the controllers the game became a lot more enjoyable. Visually the game is just stunning, absolutely gorgeous! Well done :v:

Path of Redemption by Simon Rahnasto 2019-05-06T21:50:51Z

@majadroid Could you provide me with a screenshot of said blue screen? Also did you download the Windows or Multi-platform version?

Path of Redemption by Simon Rahnasto 2019-05-08T16:43:11Z

@majadroid That looks like an error screen, the strange part is that there is no text. When you get the error screen can you press "Ctrl" + "C" and see if you get an error message copied into your clipboard.

Did you extract all of the files into a folder? You should have the PathofRedemption.exe file together with 7 .dll files in a folder. It should look like this:

game.png

If you have no error in your clipboard, and you did indeed extract all the files into a folder, and you do have 7 .dll files as well as the .exe file in said folder. Then I am kind of out of ideas. I'm guessing it could be a shader having an issue with your graphics card or something similar.

Elevator Pitch by Hugimugi7 2019-05-03T18:50:29Z

Short but sweet, it was the first game I played on my stream, and it was for sure one of the best. Everything was really well polished and my only wish is that there was more of it. I am very impressed at how well all the things break. I really appreciated all the little details, one can really tell that you put a lot of effort into it. From start to finish, it just so well packaged.

I am really impressed with your sound effects by the way, specially the coins. Coin sfx that are pleasant to listen to are almost impossible to create.

The boss is also super hilarious and the story (although silly at times) still has some substance to it.

Clunky Bird by ditzel 2019-05-01T17:17:21Z

Cool entry, I think playing this before playing a competitive shooter game could be beneficial, because it sure helps with your reaction time / flick shots, I like that the game progresses so quickly and gets harder and harder at a high pace, so that you don't have to wait for the game to become difficult. I feel sorry for the birds though :bird:

Dear Substance of Kin by Deconstructeam 2019-05-02T22:09:41Z

Really incredible experience, the production quality is just through the roof. I literally got chills, for the first time ever in a Ludum Dare entry. The writing is so deep and well thought through. The visuals are top tier, the audio is really good. Every single aspect of this game is a piece of art. Well done!

Stay alive! by Richard Jedlicka 2019-05-02T20:38:44Z

611b1bfca20e99ca8f6ee961e9bc8562.png I really like score attack games, this is no exception. I think I did ok, I mean it's a very hectic game and I am not the best at multitasking. Very unique take on the theme, great job

Abduct Me! by Nayrahbbt 2019-05-04T00:33:48Z

Although the game was very short I enjoyed it a lot, and I would rather have a game be short and good, than long and worse. It's a fun take on the theme and I did enjoy upgrading my flying saucer. It was interesting that the different types of people behaved in different ways (with unique AI). One of my favorite parts of the game is the funky graphics style, it reminds me of something that I can't quite put my finger on, but that I really like though.

Great job, thank you for submitting it to my stream!

Sinking Town by detectiveLosos 2019-05-02T14:37:05Z

Wow! This is one of the most unique looking game I have encountered in a while. I really think that you should develop an entire game with this graphic style because it is so amazing. These were my favorite parts of the game:

- I enjoyed the Dialog a lot, great to see games with a bit more script! - The graphics, like I already mention, are just top tier. - Innovative camera system, I liked how it cuts into houses.

This is one of those entries that makes me go "Oh I would love to make something similar"

Gold Digger 2084 by Tony Redmer 2019-05-04T00:40:06Z

This game was a BLAST to play! Thank you so much for posting it to my stream. I enjoyed a lot of aspects of this game, but my favorite things were: - Although maybe a bit over the top, I still have to say the death and level complete animations are amazing, they make your game stand out. If you continue development of this game, don't tone it down too much ( a little would not hurt though). - The graphics are super cute, coherent and just overall well polished. - The gameplay loop is fantastic, I love score attack games and this is one that I might actually come back to later!

Awesome job!

The Iron Syndicate by Hare Software 2019-05-02T23:31:05Z

I really liked it, I think I have played every single one of your entries (at least on this site) and I dig your art style. Really unique experience! The fire was really good looking, everything feels so well polished and just fits together to create a coherent feel.

Great job!

Ripped The Life by Alienplay 2019-05-04T00:43:42Z

Thank you so much for coming to my stream and letting me play your fantastic game! Although I am usually terrible at puzzle games I am glad that I managed to play through the entire game, the only thing that I wish was different is that there were more levels. That is the best feedback you can get, so I hope that you will consider expanding on this idea, because I feel like it has potential!

A few of the highlights of this game are: - The main mechanic, just so elegant and innovative. - The graphics, nice and coherent. Just feels well polished. - The level design, not to be underestimated! You designed your levels really well!

Great job!

Roboxery by cozmic 2019-05-04T00:30:30Z

Thank you for submitting it to my stream, I had a great time playing your game! It did take me a bit of time to figure out what I needed to do, but that is just because I am not that great at puzzle games. But when I figured it out things slowly started to be solvable

I think that you have a good difficulty level, interesting puzzles and great game design. I also like how coherent the graphics are! It just feels like a very complete and well put together game.

Fanatic job!

Duck-Tank by Pizzasgood 2019-05-02T15:16:29Z

This was a really cozy experience  The whole setting reminds me of Donald Duck, I imagined myself playing as Scrooge mc Duck. The best part was that I was able to steal the canon, but I was quickly dealt with and they had duck for dinner, haha

Good use of the theme, fits really well

The Bounty Hunter by dk5000p 2019-05-03T18:46:14Z

It was fun to play it on the stream, thank you for joining and posting your game. I was very pleasantly surprised at how well the voice controls worked, first time ever playing a voice only game. Great job!

Battery Life by Attala 2019-05-04T00:26:39Z

Thank you for posting it on my stream earlier. I had a great time playing it, for a compo game this is really well polished and great looking. The puzzles were innovative and the theme was used in an interesting way. I'm glad that I actually managed to complete a few levels because puzzle games are a bit of a weakness for me hehe

Great entry!

A.N.D.Y.R.U.S.exe by Dock Frankenstein 2019-05-04T00:24:06Z

Thank you for joining my stream and submitting your game there! It's a really interesting entry, I am glad that I managed to remember the password because I did not know I was supposed to actually type it in at later points. I always enjoy games that have a compelling story.

Great job!

A.N.D.Y.R.U.S.exe by Dock Frankenstein 2019-05-12T07:17:38Z

@franciszek-pyrc I would not really call it a problem, it helps set the feel that actions matter. I found it to be funny :thumbsup_tone1:

Skeleton Brook Spire by diaboloshogunate 2019-05-02T23:03:20Z

Please @ me when you release a none-source code version of the game. I would love to play it because I really enjoyed "Lanternal : A Mage’s Sacrifice" from the last Ludum Dare and I see that you were apart of that team

Life Cycle by zubspace 2019-05-02T22:35:52Z

Impressive entry for being your first time! Good use of the theme, it's pretty funny to just keep sacrificing your character. I also really like the intro that you built into the first level. For a compo game the art is also really good, very coherent and nice.

Great job!

MoneyBag by Chameleon 2019-05-01T23:04:02Z

This was a really innovative way of using the theme, I would go as far as saying that it is the best use of the theme that I have seen so far. There is just so much in this game, really impressive that you managed it during the Compo time, specially with graphics that are this nice. The style of the game is very coherent and it just feels so complete.

Thank you so much for making this!

Fateshift by dougLima 2019-05-02T21:01:49Z

Wow this entry is fantastic! I would actually want it on my phone, it feels like it's basically a complete game, you should honestly just add a bit more content and polish it and then release it. Here's a few things I like about the game - Suuuuper nice graphics, I just love them - The particle effects are so well made, it has a bit of a "Legends of zelda - Windwaker" feel, and that is a great compliment! - The blocking mechanic is very satisfying!

Great job

LifeShot by kuviman 2019-05-04T00:46:17Z

It was really difficult in the beginning, but thanks to your tips I started to actually manage to kill some enemies. I like this game a lot and I hope that you do turn it into a bigger game with multiplayer like you said that you might. Some of my favorite parts of the game were:

- The enemy AI, figuring out how they work is key to performing well in this game. - The shooting mechanic is a great way to tie the game to the theme. - The atmosphere and mood is excellent, great job on the music!

Thank you for coming to my stream and letting me play your game

You Need Coins by FireDragis 2019-05-02T14:46:03Z

It took some time to get used to it, it actually requires a bit of strategy. At first it seems like it will be easy but I was really close to dying until I started doing good rotations. Good take on the theme

Lifetris by iarwain 2019-05-02T16:01:40Z

At first I found it to be a neat little twist on Tetris, but after a couple of times I realized how deep it actually is. Honestly this is the best Tetris version I have played. You really have to think about every single block, if you rotate the block it has to be for a very good reason. I really enjoyed the thought process that I needed to have in order to get a higher and higher score. My best score that I got is this:

d585932d8ff306cc7990f6cf343a4354.png

Would be interesting to see what the rest of you (including the developers) managed to reach, I love score attack games!

Dungeon Life by Yadi 2019-05-01T22:55:20Z

I really liked it, took me a few attempts to get into it. A tip for people having difficulties with the controls I can actually use the arrow keys, and that's easier for me when the attack is on the [z] key. I got pretty far in my last attempt, I went down about 8 levels, until I spawned stuck (I think a ladder spawn rigth on me preventing movement. But small issues like this are to be expected when you have so little time.

Great job!

Scythemen by ditam 2019-05-02T15:31:32Z

The best I managed to do was 5 rounds:

4aecb475e029a3515816f8237882fc98.png

Cool concept that uses the theme in a good way. It's a great base for a full mobile game. I really like management games so I think you should give it a go

Farm McShooty by holo 2019-10-17T20:55:17Z

I'm sorry to hear that you guys had some trouble but I really respect the fact that you decided to power through and finish it anyway. I wish the people who are complimenting you on making an FPS for a jam knew that not only did you do that, but also made it in a 2d framework

I'm glad that I finally got around to playing your entry, I actually liked it a lot, my favorite part was "BANG BANG... NOPE... BANG BANG... NOPE" sound effects haha.

The drop to the top by jk5000 2019-10-13T20:28:40Z

Cool with a local multiplayer game, played it vs my gf and we had a blast (I won). I liked the graphics, the audio (specially the voice acting), they all contributed to a great mood in the game. Really well done!

Chronicles of the Mattock by NickZangus 2019-10-13T20:15:08Z

One of the funniest games that I have played this LD, it was clear you went a lot for the humor category  But one of the best things about this game is still the graphics, I just loved the style, its not often that I genuinely enjoy the look of a 3d game made for Ludum Dare, but this is one of those rare times. I struggled quite a lot with the combat, but I did manage to win.

I Have Nothing - If I don't take from you! by Imphenzia 2019-10-13T14:37:34Z

Awesome voice acting, great sound effects and really good music. This game has incredible auido! I liked the game idea, it's hilarious! I managed to score7a31ce61657af7d30f6b36e1d136fb67.png

Thank you for linking your score-attack game in my post! This was a great entry :v:

World Collector by Joe Williamson 2019-10-11T21:17:41Z

Thank you for submitting your incredible game to the stream. It was really fun to play it and I honestly feel that if you do not win or place top 3, you were robbed. This is one of the best compo games I have ever played in the 15 ludum dares that I have participated. Everything is so well done, art, code, idea, sound... you would have placed really highly even if this was a jam game. I’m really impressed!

Outside the BOX by IcyLava 2019-10-11T20:13:51Z

Just a phenomenal game, thank you for joining the stream, it was a blast to play. This game deserved to place in the top 10 overall, its just that well made. Super polished and an incredible idea! Please reconsider your stance on not making this into a full game!

Graveyard Bones by Jesús González 2019-10-10T22:07:35Z

I liked the quite literal interpretation of the theme, to be dead is as close to starting with nothing as you can get! The graphics are nice and coherent and the game idea is quite funny.

Seven Dwarves Brawl by pfeyffer 2019-10-10T21:35:37Z

I love cardgames and it's cool that you could play irl with a couple of decks of card. The graphics are very nice and coherent, specially for a compo entry. Really nice interpretation of the theme

Rude Bear Refurbished by alexrose 2019-10-15T22:48:55Z

I played the game with keyboard and had no issues. Every Ludum Dare I look forward to playing the next installment of Rudebear (this being the 15th that I play). I have to say that this one is really great, nice interpretation of the theme, really fun humor as always, good sound and the wobbling animation looks great, specifically when carrying heavy things.

It was a lot of fun to try to make the house look as good as possible, and I moved a radio that played the creepy cult music into my neighbors (the rudecat) house after stealing most of his stuff, so now he has nothing but miserable music.

Overall a really fun and enjoyable entry, one of my favorite ones this Jam for sure!

Bathtub Admirals by shide 2019-10-13T19:53:20Z

Admiral Duck mc Cluck fought well in many battles on the sea, he won none, but still... It's the thought that matters.

Fun with the online multiplayer, and I was lucky enough to have people online at the same time as I was playing. I liked the visuals a lot, great job!

Styx by TolMera 2019-10-10T17:13:43Z

.

Styx by TolMera 2019-10-16T10:19:20Z

@tolmera Really strange, I must have mixed up what page I was on, its not your old game but another entry, must have downloaded and come back to rate and comment on the wrong link. Super sorry about this, when I get back home I will play, rate and comment YOUR game haha. Thank you for letting me know!

Styx by TolMera 2019-10-16T14:08:41Z

Well now I have finally played the right game

I liked it, it took me quite a long time to figure out what to do, but I finally bothered the shaman enough to win the game 16ec4e4564aa0ed5ed14be2a601e2c03.png

I really enjoyed the strange trippy effect that you created with the ground, it almost felt like 3d. I have never seen that before. Any entry that has voice acting gets a huger + in my book, specially a compo game. All of the sounds and voiceacting was really well done as well.

Skeleton Quest by mahalis 2019-10-10T08:26:43Z

Oh man, first I thought you wanted me to kill the dogs and take their bones, I’m glad that is not the case haha. But I do wonder what the dogs have been up to in order to have acess to human skulls

Very impressive art for a comp entry, everything felt nice and coherent, great entry

Dear Diary by Rodrigo Denúbila 2019-10-09T09:22:23Z

I really liked the "wall-less" layout of the game. I have played quite a few of your previous entries and I think that this is my favorite. Everything just feels really coherent and fits well together. I specially appriciated the clever level design, for an example the safe password being the wedding date that was previously mentioned in passing.

Great job!

Ragin' Racers by bitdecay 2019-10-11T23:23:05Z

I love Rock N' Roll Racing (SNES), cool to see a game that (I am guessing) was inspired by it. Really like the characters, they were hilarious.

Handee by Mr ChocolateSalmon 2019-10-12T21:57:34Z

Now I don't want to brag or anything but I think that I am the world record holder in Hadee 100% Ghandi run: wr.png

Short but fun game, I found it from @jupiter-hadley youtube video and wanted to see if it was possible to not murder everyone, cool that it was

Escape from Nabazka by Tomcus 2019-10-09T15:24:09Z

Welcome to Ludum Dare, super cool of you to join in and I want you to know that just by finishing your game you are already among the top 50% (as about half never finish).

Its a neat combo game, always impressive when people can get the code, graphics AND music in. I'm not too good at it so I keep dying after 5-6 enemies haha.

As a last side note, I would suggest uploading your game to itch.io. This will allow people to find your game and test it even after the gamejam ended, and people can choose to follow you and see all of your games that you make (gamejams or others)

Escape from Nabazka by Tomcus 2019-10-09T15:24:09Z

Accidentally posted twice.

Claimbeer by neowhoru 2019-10-10T13:44:07Z

Wow this is a compo game? The graphics are so good, really coherent and well done, goes really well with your lighting system. The fact that you have music and sfx that are good as well just blows my mind haha. I like the concept (we went for a similar one with unlocking abilities as go along), I think it fits the theme really well. Overall a super strong entry; you should be proud of what you have accomplished

Shi no ganbo by Simon Rahnasto 2019-10-09T08:18:51Z

@mrerdalural Hey, there is a grace timer of 0.11 seconds. Maybe this was a bit too short? In any case, I appreciate your feedback!

Shi no ganbo by Simon Rahnasto 2019-10-09T09:40:32Z

@svipa we use löve 11.2, sorry to hear that it crashes for you. We had a person test it on linux and he did not have the same issue.

Shi no ganbo by Simon Rahnasto 2019-10-23T17:00:27Z

@itsdanidre sorry to hear that you had problems. The game makes use of delta time to make sure that your performance does (or at least should) not affect gameplay. What kind of hardware (and OS) are you running it on?

Polychromatic Escape by BLK Dragon 2019-10-10T16:57:55Z

Its really difficult to make a 3d game, its 100times harder to do it for a gamejam, I feel like you guys somehow managed anyway

I really like how the game-play takes place in a pretty small area but in a very "metroidvainia" style you unlock more and more places to go. So the place evolves overtime as you find items. Really good take on the theme!

Great entry overall!

Neon Void by egawag 2019-10-11T22:45:47Z

The game looks great, very minimalistic but super polished and well put together. Everything fits from graphics to audio, the mood of the game was fantastic.

I really liked the end animation, it was the icing on the cake!

Nothing but naked by LoneWolfDev 2019-10-10T12:24:11Z

I actually like that the game is hard, I really enjoyed trying to figure out what to do and test different theories. Everything is great with this entry, the art looks great and fits really well together. The idea is unique and works incredibly well with the theme and the sounds and music sound nice!

Well done :v:

Start with Muffin by Sibi 2019-10-10T21:54:36Z

Really enjoyed the music, it fit the game so well. All the sfx were super cute and reminded me of Nintendo (the highest praise you can get). Overall a fun and cute game

Acorn Rush by MrPiedPiper 2019-10-13T14:32:05Z

Cool idea, I enjoyed the nice pixel art and soothing music. I kept getting 0 score over and over until I read that you needed to knock the squirrels down and get the golden acorn. After that I managed to get a whooping 800 points

I love score-attack games, thank you for linking your game in my post!

King of Nothing by notapixelstudio 2019-10-13T13:41:25Z

802f1d00558de3d3cadeec0edd431979.png

Wow, this has got to be one of the best ideas that I have come across this LD. What a novel concept, and the best part is that it just works... Really well!

I would really love an infinite version where it becomes harder and harder, with a highscore (and maybe release on mobile). If you decide to develop this further please @me, I would love to check it out!

Revolutionaries and Pixels by Hare Software 2019-10-09T09:52:03Z

b4da23bc64db58d7d67c179f40c6a8a6.png

My men fought well and hard, but in the end they fell. I really liked this entry, at first I feared that it was just a numbers game. But in the end I had like 3 men left (2 with guns and 1 with nothing) and I managed to win a battle vs like 7-8 heavily armed guys. Shows that the game is a lot more deep than at first meets the eye.

The visuals are very nice and fit well together, and everything ties in nicely to the theme. Great job

Drum by Mountday 2019-10-13T20:57:26Z

What a novel concept, I liked that it was kind of like a puzzle, trying to figure out what path you should take and when you should beat the drums. I also liked the visuals, they are very unique and gave the game a personality. Well done!

PIPO THE GHOST by woody_builder 2019-10-10T17:18:50Z

This is one of those entrie that I hope turns into a full game on google playstore/Apple store. Its super relaxing and really fun. Cute graphics and incredible audio; This game has it all

Reminds me of a modern lemmings!

VychVyzhProm by BOOtak 2019-10-10T13:07:03Z

Honestly this is a great way to learn the basic principles of how a computer works. If you expanded it to have more machine instructions and more puzzles it could definitely serve as a great educational tool. A friend tested the game and recommended me to try it out, after trying it out I have recommended a friend to try it out. That speaks volumes about this entry, really good job

VychVyzhProm by BOOtak 2019-10-10T17:32:01Z

@bootak I could almost have guessed that one of you are a teacher, because it really shows that you know what you are doing

Great to hear that you realize the potential in this, I wish you the best!

Robbie by Crochar 2019-10-10T18:03:23Z

If this is what you can do in 24 hours, then I look forward to when you have time to do the full 72 hours. Incredible art and very cool metroidvainia style gameplay, I personally just LOVE the death effect. I also really appreciate the fact that you have an intro (with the arm crawling to the robot).

Awesome job!

Woodland Zero by Shredmer 2019-10-10T22:34:12Z

really cool that you have a high-score, it makes it a lot more motivating to keep on trying to push for a higher individual score, even though I never managed to break 2000 points. I have never seen this idea before and found it very innovative. Everything is well polished and coherent, and the characters are really cute. Well done!

Spirited Back by Tomssuli 2019-10-10T22:18:32Z

I found it very interesting that we both had such a similar concept idea (although our games are quite different ofc). So naturally I think you did a great interpretation of the theme

The graphics are nice and coherent and it's cool to see another game that includes a story. Great job!

Millions of Minions by Mattabulous 2019-10-11T21:32:54Z

Thank you for joining the stream! Even though I was not that good at the game it was fun to try to learn the mechanics and get better. And I had a couple of runs that went pretty well (or at least better). I liked the enemy design a lot! Well done

Faze by Xenoxygene 2019-10-11T20:29:31Z

I was told that I am the wr holder by the developers, so this is obviously a really well designed game! Was a lot of fun playing and its very cool that both the game visuals and the map evolves over time; great interpretation of the theme! Thank you for joining the stream

Sheep Keep by zubspace 2019-10-13T20:02:08Z

Well... I feel like a terrible person, I just murdered so many innocent sheep, but at least I made a quick buck. Nice and polished for a compo game, really impressive graphics and audio. I also found the main mechanic of controlling multiple people interesting, was fun to gather them all up in a murderball.

Great job!

A Nickel For A Kingdom by geist_191 2019-10-13T21:32:53Z

ea9043ff63c92700171dd292be370e21.png weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell oooops...

What a fun little game, it gets more and more fun for every run you do, I was a bit confused first when I won the game with the orphan ending, but the more I played the more I liked it. The art, music and story is great, it's very clear that you spent a lot of time on the writing. I love the fact that it "makes" sense, like when I got an orange I figured that one of the sailors probably wanted it because of scurvy. Great job!

HONK by Tricky_Fat_Cat 2019-10-09T10:31:34Z

**I AM THE ONE WHO HONKS**

I really loved just everything about this game, the idea is so stupidly great! I really REALLY liked the visuals, specially all of the permanence. The room starts out clean and then I HONK some MOTHERDUCKERS and the room just evolves into a gory mess. There is a lot of attention to details, I specially loved the Goose head that gets progressively more beat up as you take damage.

The juice, is... sooooo juicy.

Yes it doesn't follow the theme 100%, but it kind of still does. Apart from that my only wish is that you would show my score when I die, because I lasted for quite a while and wanted to show you my score . Maybe you could do a post jam version that does this, if you do that please @me!

Great job, seriously fantastic entry!

Trick or Retreat by Lone_Wolf 2019-10-13T14:43:46Z

I really enjoyed the fact that the game music ramped up when you got a high enough score, I am too greedy though so I always continue until I die, but my highest score that I was on was 68.

Great idea, love the pun in the name and thank you for linking your game in my post, I love score-attack games and yours is no exception!

Nothing In The Way by JediNeeson 2019-10-11T20:24:14Z

Really well designed puzzles, it was a ton of fun playing through the game! Thank you for joining the stream

God Complex by Fupi 2019-10-10T22:41:57Z

The best part with the game was to try to figure out what combinations you could do (without looking them up), something that I have not seen in other clicker games, well done!

Super Goat Life by Olivier argentieri 2019-10-13T20:44:54Z

One can really tell that you had a lot of people working really hard with the models because the game has a lot of good looking stuff in it! The goat is incredibly cute, and every upgrade, upgraded the goats cuteness level by a ton. I enjoyed playing it

The Terror that came from Nothing by Le Don 2019-10-10T17:24:46Z

What an incredible idea, honestly one of the best ones I have come across this jam. Its so simple but super effective, I can't remember last time I got so positively surprised as I played a game before, and I have participated in LD 15 times haha.

Mullet Man and the Apocalypse by clemonades 2019-10-10T12:17:46Z

Nice amount of polish, the entry feels very solid and I specially like the hit effect that you made. The game also has one of the best titles in this Ludum Dare

Cell Defense by WanSou 2019-10-10T17:01:00Z

I would recommend uploading your games to itch.io, that way people from outside the jam can find your game as well, and people who liked your great entry can follow you and see what you make in the future. With that out of the way I want to say that I enjoyed this quite a bit, felt well put together and had a nice amount of content, specially powerups. And who doesn't like powerups?

You Broke the Game by OlegKlishin 2019-10-11T23:51:03Z

Incredible that you managed to make such a polished and solid game in a game jam, it honestly feels like I am playing a commercially released game. It feels very Nintendo (a great compliment), both visually with all the cute animations and fun humor. My favorite part was the leap of faith where you land on the hedgehog, on your second try you find the hedgehog being sad over killing you before. The game is filled with cute/funny moments like this. The movement is spot on, you feel like you are in control at all times and when you die you have no one but yourself to blame. Great job!

Pile of Corpses by TORT60091 2019-10-11T22:34:03Z

Cool idea, the game feel very well polished, I especially liked the particle effects. It was also cool that you could shoot on dead blocks to push them to a more strategic position. Great job!

LD46 — Keep it alive

Fade of Life by Sheepolution 2020-04-23T10:43:35Z

It is always a pleasure to play your entries, it was such a well deserved #1 last LD. It is just so well polished, every little attention to detail makes it come to life. My favorite part is the smile at the end, and it is also the best example of how much you do, in very small ways.

You really are an artist!

Great job as always

PixelPups by Chilleh 2020-04-25T20:51:22Z

Cute take on the theme, I unfortunately had some issues with my first dog "Sir Doggo mc dogface", but that was because I overfed him. I did not make the same mistake with "Sir Doggo mc dogface the second". The animations and artstyle are coherent and the pupps are really cute. The music fit the game very well, and so did the sound effects.

Great job! :dog:

Rude Bear Gotchi by alexrose 2020-04-25T21:35:34Z

This the 16th Rude Bear game that I play, and I am not disappointed. It's so interesting how each Rude Bear game is so different from the previous ones. I have never seen any game that takes place on my desktop like that. I had the ldjam page open and it was a challenge to not accidentally click and do a bunch of random stuff, haha

The art was fantastic as usual, same goes with the sound effects. I did manage to keep my bear alive, though he was not much of a bear in the end :bear:, the ending itself was great!

Overall a great entry!

Surge by loginaut 2020-04-25T19:58:52Z

Wow this was a real challenge, they all ganged up on me and I managed to kill 2-3 each try. It was interesting to try to find different ways to approach it. My initial plan was to camp around healing wrenches and let the enemies come to me. That way I could heal after a fight.

Cool idea!

Flamebound by unfinished 2020-04-24T21:36:34Z

The idea is interesting and the core mechanics are something you could build on. I got to level 5 (or was it 4?), it took me quite a while to figure out all of the mechanics, a real challenge! Also nice with the background story, always nice when people put some effort into a story, gives the game a greater meaning.

Trail Mix by Michael Gosling 2020-04-24T21:24:54Z

The art was really cute, I specially loved the little parachute that the bunny gets when falling down. It's a solid idea that you can expand on. Feel free to @me if you make an updated version!

Henry's wet dream by Kornel 2020-04-24T09:15:07Z

This is such a cute game! I love how the flame looks when it's tiny. You really know how to juice a game up, visually and with audio. The audio work is some of the best that I have experienced this Ludum Dare.

Here is a list of things that I found awesome: * The shadow system, it was really cool and added to the "feel" a lot. * The combo system, I tried to stack up a bunch of objects right next to eachother just to make it go crazy. * The wacky sound effects, feels a lot like nintendo (high praise in my book).

Great job, I really enjoyed it.

The Drown by Simon Rahnasto 2020-04-25T10:10:39Z

@vrerabek Sorry that it is not more clear, there is a skip intro button. If you press X while in the menu you will toggle the into to be on/off. Thank you for the feedback!

The Drown by Simon Rahnasto 2020-05-04T08:24:58Z

@eran-haas , @designernap , @louiejams , @ptsnoop , @firellon

Sorry for the ping! But something happened and we where opted out of the audio category, it is fixed now but I just wanted to let you know for 2 reasons; first so that you have a chance to rate us on the audio, but also so that you know that we did make all sfx, music and voice acting. We are about 8 votes lower so I picked the 5 last comments.

Thank you for playing and thank you for your nice comments!

The Drown by Simon Rahnasto 2020-05-12T21:04:45Z

Now that the jam has ended we released a major update, it includes features that never made it in due to time constraints and a lot of the suggestions and feedback from all of the great comments that we got.

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-24T22:41:02Z

I was so scared something bad was going to happen to the dog, thank you for not making that happen haha. The game had a really cool atmosphere, very eerie, almost scary.

My favorite part was flipping over lamps, made me feel like a real dog :dog:

Thanks to the hint that you wrote in the comment I was finally able to find the door that lead to victory. Great entry!

Lone Settler by Poupi 2020-04-25T20:26:13Z

I really enjoyed trying to figure out what to do, every time I found a new thing or option it gave a sense of progression. I am getting some Wall-e vibes (and that's a great compliment)! The audio is really nice, and the graphics are great as well. I specially loved the Solar eclipse effect, and the meteors that crashed down felt really impact.

Pleased to report that this little robot finished it's mission successfully!

Cat Shelter Simulator by Fat cat 2020-04-26T09:40:50Z

I like how the game gets more and more intense as you get more and more cats. It's strangly addictive as well, all I wanted was to improve my cat-empire!

Almost got screwed by the first rent, because I upgraded the house with 2 days left and it increased my rent, but all my cats came together for a massive group-photo, to try to save the shelter, and it worked! :cat2:

Here is an image of my empire: a165b0f4567cfd5d268fc8f902210ff8.png :cat2: :cat2: :cat2: :cat2: :cat2: :cat2: :cat2: :cat2: :cat2: :cat2: :cat2: :cat2: :cat2: :cat2: :cat2:

I liked the graphics a lot, it was nice and coherent, the cats felt very "catlike". The audio was also great!

Space Zoo by BrainSlugs83 2020-04-26T08:41:26Z

I enjoyed flying around the different planets, visually the game is really cool. It was also fun to discover what types of creatures lived on each different planet. In the end I started pulling humans into space and letting them float around in space

It for sure is a very neat prototype, you should develop it further and @me when you have released another version

Great job, specially for it being your first LD entry!

BrewMancy by Louis Hilaire 2020-04-24T10:36:06Z

The art style is just so cool, one of the most visually pleasing entries I have seen this Ludum Dare. The music is just fantastic as well, really ties everything together. I really wanted to do some potion brewing but I wasn't fast enough to ever get to that part, I only managed 3-4 items. But I did flip through to book and it seems like there is a lot of cool things you can do

Awesome entry!

Kombo Krusader by kankje 2020-04-24T11:02:55Z

This was awesome!!! I struggled with the boss a lot but it was really fun.

I would love to have a mode where it is just endless score attack, I would play that a lot. The mechanics are so tight, everthing is just very well made. Graphics are nice and coherent, the music is very fitting and help you get into the zone.

Here is a GIF of me playing up until the boss: https://gyazo.com/88c518656376be874ceaff550522af94

King's Table by PetTurtle 2020-04-26T11:36:07Z

This is one of my favorite entries this game jam. Please turn it into a full game and port it to ios and android, I would play it a ton! The graphics are gorgeos, the mechanics are cool, the entry fits the theme like a glove. I am just glad I got to play it!

Great job

Oh and I made it to wave 22! :trophy:

Life-Line by Thiago Nascimento 2020-04-24T10:14:36Z

I have a love-hate relationship with horror games, I love games like amnesia but never could finish it. Too scary haha

This is actually the firt Ludum Dare game that has made me freak out, it's a genius control-scheme. First I didn't quite understand how it worked, but then it clicked. And I belive that it helps the game feel more scary, because you are not in total control. You feel more helpless and stressed. The sound effects and music also help making this game terrifying.

Great job!

I think you should make a full game with these mechanics!

Viridian by drewstillwell 2020-04-24T22:08:55Z

An incredibly cute game, the bunny is very demanding though. Is there a win condition? I tried to keep him alive but ran out of carrots eventually (or I just didnt find them). I also really liked the "take damage"-effect that the crow had, it was really cool.

Just a relaxing, sweet game that I really enjoyed. Thank you for making it

Viridian by drewstillwell 2020-04-24T22:50:48Z

@drewstillwell Thats correct, your comment ended up on the other game. Both of the entries had similar looking pages (similar amount of text and no images) sorry for the mixup. I am have swapped the comments and ratings, thank you for notifying me

Save the Fish by Duck Reaction 2020-04-24T21:52:46Z

This is a really unique entry, strange and addictive. It is really stressful after level 5, my brain can't keep the fish alive after that point. I found all of the sound effects to be specially awesome, they go well with the wacky visual effects of the fish being squished. But I killed fish... how will I sleep now

Rock' em All by Yigit Doruk 2020-04-24T09:50:58Z

Visually it looks awesome, the idea fits the theme really well (and is actually a pretty unique take on it). I didn't do very well though, I tried my best but in the end I just could not keep up with the onslaught of haters.

Loved the soundtracks too, keep rocking on my dudes! :fist:

Great entry!

Verbose by santriptasharma 2020-04-23T10:31:41Z

Haha, oh man I went for a full on activism strat that worked pretty well, until some dude rushed me with ghost writers ;_;

I just like the signs ok?

I am sorry "it", I have failed you...

Great entry, a lot of humor and it's a novel concept!

Lil Monsters by Tyler Anders 2020-04-25T21:04:00Z

It was a real challenge to get past all the sawblades and traps with the momentum system, but after a while I did get a hang of it. I liked the fact that you had to throw the babies since you could not jump with them, this made the game have a puzzle aspect to it.

I don't think this monster should apply to be a babysitter though, it did not seem very safe at all  :knife: :baby:

A Samurai Friend Of Mine by voidpointer 2020-04-24T08:36:22Z

I'm going to be real with you, this is the first time I have actually physically laughed in a LD game. When the main character asks "Grandpa what am I listening too?" and he answers "I don't know", it just hit home. This is such an interesting game, I loved every single second of it. I also really loved the way he roasts the main character in the beginning.

Graphics are really cool as well, they are all so strange but in a nice and coherent way. Great story, great execution... You guys are just amazing!

Seeking Past by DylanPiserchia 2020-04-24T09:02:57Z

The game has a very interesting idea at it's core. Music together with the visuals create an atmosphere that is very eerie and suspenseful. I was never able to collect all of the memories, its a really hard game, but I did enjoy trying to. Those enemies show no mercy haha

Well done!

Save the last plant. by DeepKaiju 2020-04-23T16:44:20Z

Haha, those deer showed no mercy, it was difficult, you really needed to conserve your ammo and be smart about it.

I found the blue key-card, and ran to the exit Right before I got there I got attacked by a gang of 3 angry deer, and I only had bullets for 2 of them

Well done!

Keep Them Alive by Prototype Jon 2020-04-26T09:04:44Z

I found it really difficult first to get past the sawblades, then I figured out that I could push my friends closer to the wall so that they have time to make it past. I like that you have to be quick and figure things out fast, else everyone gets murdered. So it's almost like a timed puzzle game.

The art was nice, specially the characters!

Great job!

The Lightwielder - Ludum Dare 46 by 1StepCloser 2020-04-23T10:22:15Z

I got some "princess mononoke" vibes, got to think of the deer god

Graphics are really nice, and it is cool to see entries that spend time to make an intro and have a story. Great job!

War of the Elements by Juan García Jousset 2020-04-24T08:48:24Z

After about 5 attempts I managed to get to the second level. It was really cool to see that you have multiple levels with new art and music. It was really challenging, I was finally defeated by what seemed to be a boss on the second level, who was shooting :sweat_drops: at me and my :fire:.

I like how you had to constantly make jugementcalls between going out to get more wood or staying to defend, making the wrong call at the wrong time would very quickly result in you losing.

Great job, I enjoyed playing it a lot!

Cthulhu must be kept alive by vartagh 2020-04-26T08:03:36Z

The pixel art was really nice, I also like the screen effect (Is it called raster?). Nice take on the theme, I am a big fan of Lovecraft. I unfortunately did not manage to keep Chtulu alive for very long after the first level (I think my best was 4 or 5 human sacrifices there), I guess it takes a cultist for the job

Good job!

Don't Let it Pop! by gstein 2020-04-26T08:55:46Z

Great take on the theme! I love score attack games, any time a LD game has a score, I want to beat everyone's high-scores in the comments.

I could see this turning into a very cool mobile game, you should continue developing it

Great job!

Feed the Turtle King! by Butzbo 2020-04-25T20:08:47Z

The art style is really unique, it's what initially pulled me in to the game. The audio was also really good, I loved the music and sound effects, they go really well with the sligthly wacky art style, it all feels very cartoonish (in the best possible way).

I also appriciated the fact that you had included the story in an intro, it adds a lot to the game and makes it feel more like a complete experience.

A cool feature that you added was the fact that shooting the king was possible, it made me chuckle when I first accidentally did that. Though he cant complain on me too much since I did manage to win.

RoboRepair! by brndncn 2020-04-25T21:45:20Z

Very cute art-style, I specially like the fact that the room rotates when you move around in it. The game had a lot of humor as well

I managed to get a pretty good score I think, but in the end I lost.

Great take on the theme!

Eggsploration by ChickenCastle 2020-04-24T22:18:54Z

I loved the eggception at the end. Also figures that you're Australian with all the snakes hiding in every bush! haha

The art was really cute, specially the way the girl holds the egg with her braids. Great job!

Deer Quest by Brachistosauro 2020-04-24T21:13:54Z

This is a real gem, I had no idea what I was expecting going into this, but it for sure was a pleasant surprise. The dialog started out great, and then just kept getting better. Just really clever all the way through. I **really** appreciated the fact that when you died, you got to start at the last encounter. This allowed me to play through the entire game and enjoy it.

Really cool to find other people using Löve, and making such amazing games. Well done!

Snowball by Happy Fish Gaming Co 2020-04-26T08:27:47Z

I think this is the entry that I have spent the most time in so far, I just could not give up. It was a real challenge and in the end I finally managed  :goat: :trophy:

The artstyle is very cute, I specially like the "flipping 2d asset"-effect you have when you turn, and the animations are also cool. The charging up animation was also super cute.

Audio was good, the music was nice and felt like it fit the game well, the eagle noises only increased my anger at the bird-kin. Nice touch with having different ways to die, not just from the eagles

Good job!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

A bright light flashes and when it subsides... by KunoNoOni 2020-10-07T14:57:28Z

Very different from anything that I have played before, you definitely used the theme is an innovative way! It's clear that you have spent a TON of time writing all this story. I appriciate the fact that reading the text actually helped (quite often). And after dying over and over you start to remember the pattern and can get back to where you were quite fast. The music was nice as well. Great job!

SNAKE SNAKE SNAKE by Sheepolution 2020-10-10T13:35:45Z

I tried so many times to get 20 points, but alas 19 was my high score (on mode A, which I enjoyed the most. On B my record was 17). Very cool take on the theme, I have seen a lot of snake games but never anything like this. It's surprisingly difficult, I tried a lot of different tactics, such as doing a lot of loops around and around to try to manage the clones. But in the end one of them always turns right onto you haha.

The way that the difficulty curve is implemented is really smart, it's easy to understand and makes the game feel a lot more "fair". The visuals are simple, but nice, great use of shaders!

Overall a fantastic entry!

Another by kuro 2020-10-07T14:26:28Z

First of all, you are absolutely right that you learn what you need from the in-game information. Sometimes it can be nice to lay it all out there, but having to figure things out yourself really works well in this game. The "menu"/intro-page music and animation made the atmosphere so great that it was difficult to start the game, I wanted to just stay there. Needless to say you made a great first impression! Then it got even better, I love the fact that you included a small story, it set's up the fight really well.

Next let's talk about the gameplay, while it's "simple" it's also very addictive. The difficulty ramps up a good pace and never feels unfair. The game has one of the best looking compo graphics that I have seen, combined with great audio. If the attack sounds where annoying this game would almost be unplayable; but they are not. They are great in-fact. I was certain this was a Jam-game because it's so well rounded.

Great entry!

Magmania by CameronPenner 2020-10-08T16:16:35Z

Very nice take on the theme! The graphics are adorable and the entire game is just well presented. It follows the theme really well while still being quite different from anything that I have played so far. It did not take me all that long to figure out what I had to do, I struggled only a little bit with the 3d printer, which is dumb since I own one irl... So I should know what I am doing. I also found it to be a good strategy to not pick up the resource cubes until "next loop", that way you don't waste any time running backwards. The exception to this rule being the first "loop", where you really should pick up 1 red cube and get that float printing. In the end I managed to clutch the win at the veeeeeeeeeery last second  502072f6983eca8b50a1f0d23e126063.png I hope my Lil dude survived after that!

If your going to add something to the game in the future, a co-op mode would be amazing, I could see this being really fun to try to survive as long as possible together.

Going to try to beat it on hard now!

Rad Boar Rewind by alexrose 2020-10-08T19:27:24Z

This is by far my favorite entry this Ludum Dare and it is also my favorite Rudebear game (out of the 17 that I have played), that is saying something because there are some real gems. Playing a Rudebear game is part of the LD-experience as much as complaining on the theme is. Where do I even begin... Let's start with the intro. Really sets the scene for the game, it's very well narrated and the voice acting is great. The graphics are amazing, it's the unique look that most of the Rudebear games has, but with a new twist: The rad boar gang! The sound effects and especially the music are phenomenal!

The idea of this game is so genius, my jaw dropped when I realized that I could change the course of a previous Rad-boar and "queue up" movements on them in order to have them progress the game for me later. There where so many unique puzzles and thing's that you had to figure out, without introducing new mechanics. As always your entry has great humor. It was hilarious when you had to sacrifice like 20 boars to build the suicide pillar, pure comedic gold. I also really liked the "seesaw" puzzle (the one right before you get the pink crystal), it took me quite a few attempts to figure out how to do it and it was so satisfying when all the boars worked together and finally managed to get it. First I thought the game had ended there, I'm happy that I realized that you had to also get back to the ship. Great idea since it made the game come full circle.

I played through the entire game and enjoyed every single bit. I have participated in Ludum Dare quite a few times, but this is only the 3rd or 4th time that I give an entry full 5/5 in every single category. If you don't win I feel you got robbed. Great job is the understatement of the year!

Loop Bouncer by pkenney 2020-10-07T15:06:48Z

It took me a while to get used to the controls, but after a while it started to feel like I was in control and it became much more fun and less "random". Great take on the theme, your you really feel stuck in the loop. The difficulty curve is also good. Overall a great and fun game.

Visually it's "simple" but coherent. Really good for a compo. The same goes for the audio. Impressive that you managed all of this in 48 hours!

Loop Pool by PTSnoop 2020-10-08T08:27:32Z

I got excited the second I saw that you have made a local multiplayer mode, going to play that later today.

The music, graphics and sound effects all come together to create a very relaxing experience. I actually spent about 40 minutes playing the game. It really should be made into a mobile game with different tracks. I would play that a lot actually. I also liked that the circle and the clockwise restriction turned it into a puzzle game, rather than just "plain pool".

You needed to really plan ahead and strategically place balls into good positions for a future loop. I found a good tactic was to line red balls at the outer edge and try to get yellow balls near the inner walls. This allowed me to funnel the red balls along the wall into the hole. I had a really good run going when I accidentally yeeted the black ball and lost. That was kind of the story of my life, I would have a pretty decent score coming up, but greed made me take difficult shots that ended my run. In the end the best score I got was this: 5257e28b595542fe7123949d8d4d7945.png

The score isn't good, but I am happy that I at least managed to win in the end haha. The best part was that it never felt unfair. Every single mistake I made was 100% due to my own incompetency. So far this is the game that I have spent the longest time playing, I really had a good time. The fact that you made everything yourself is just incredible and you found a very unique way to use the theme. Great entry!

FROGS Training to be Heros (In a large 'wheel-thing') by HacksawUnit 2020-10-10T14:18:54Z

Finally I managed to beat the high score with my best mate, Nate the Great, by getting 14. Then I saw that @lereveur had 22... So naturally I had to try to beat it. I did not manage to beat the score, but I managed to tie it: 418433a71656a3b7c84b9e25220b167e.png

It's a great take on the theme, one of the best ones I have seen actually. It was so addictive that I got stuck in a loop replaying it over and over. You have such an adorable art style on the game, I saw some of your progress posts during the Jam and knew that I had to give it a "spin". The audio is also great, everything feels well thought out and excecuted. There where a lot of things that I really liked about the game. Small details like the score keeping frog who changes expression when you die.

All of the mechanics were communicated well and worked smoothly. With only two buttons I felt like I was in full control over my frog.

This should be made into a mobile game, with more frogs, obstacles, enemies and upgrades. I would play it a ton! Great

Ouroboros by Simon Rahnasto 2020-10-10T07:20:49Z

@blobo Ah yes you missed the boss fight. I disable the door but apparently not fast enough. Thank you for letting me know, I will fix that for the post-jam update.

Ouroboros by Simon Rahnasto 2020-10-25T21:20:38Z

@joaog @pkenney

Thank you both for your feedback. Sorry about the fact that the game did not fit the screen, I wanted to implement the ability to change resolution (which I plan to do in a post-jam update) but time ran out. The game is 1080p, so if you have a smaller resolution it wont fit.

Also Windows is for some reason defaulting to scaling applications to 125%, if you do have a 1080p resolution screen, check that this is on 100%, and not the default 125%.

Loop-E-Mart by jvolonte 2020-10-09T08:50:17Z

This was really addictive, I played it a few times and each time I found small ways to optimize profit. That's one of the coolest parts of this game, that at first glance it seems fairly straight forward: Look at your customers and just stock what they like. The game however is deceptively strategic and , the order in which you do your tasks can often deicide if you make those extra few bucks that makes you able to pay rent.

The characters each have a unique look and fun names, the overall style of the game is neat. You managed to make a game about being "stuck in a 9-5"-loop fun. Those darn customers getting angry when you are not there to take their order... because you are literally on your knees cleaning up their mess, or ninja punching milk because.. haha

The audio is also great, I liked the chill music and the sound effects fit perfectly. The difficulty curve was quite steep, but that was also part of the fun. When you actually managed to survive and pay rent it felt a lot more rewarding each time.

Great entry!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Deep Seek by Sheepolution 2021-05-08T15:44:51Z

It's always a pleasure playing your entries each Ludum Dare, and this was no exception. I don't know how you manage to create such an intensive feel for the game using fairly simple graphics and animations. It's some kind of "Sheepolution magic".

As you start to run out of oxygen, you feel it, almost physically. I loved the metroidvaina style progression, a lot of the items where really cool as well. I liked the blurry screen effect, but was thinking that maybe it was going to get a bit annoying after a while, and then boom, you find the googles and everything becomes super clear. Another example is the flashlight, and how you find the dark deep ocean before you find the flashlight. Which makes it feel even better when you do find it.

It's a very good take on the theme, you are constantly debating weather or not you can afford to go deeper, or if you need to cancel and try to find air.

Fantastic entry! :)

Storm: Last Resort by Skosnowich 2021-04-28T12:22:12Z

I love pirate games (made one myself in LD 38), so I was super stoked to find your entry!

Amazing job on making the combat feel so "high stakes" and intensive. At first I just got owned by the enemies and missed exactly everything, but after a bit of practice I started to snipe them down. Very cool that the enemies can damage each other as well, I tried to make sure to keep an enemy between me and another enemy, in order to make them kill each other.

The weather effects were also fantastic, overall a great experience!

So-so-phia by kuro 2021-04-30T15:48:20Z

I was a big fan of your previous entry "Another", so I was excited to try out "so-so-phia". I was not disappointed! The graphics are amazing, the fact that it's a compo is insane to me. It was a lot of fun to just unleash total destruction upon the poor enemies. You managed to make the player feel super powerful, specially in the last boss fight.

1.png

I have to say that I sat and waited for a couple of minutes, considering the type of humor you had in the game I was expecting there to actually be something which triggered :D

Deepeth Woods by colapolka 2021-04-29T14:37:26Z

This has to be one of the best things I have seen this LD. The visual style is hillarious, the premise is fantastic and I just love everything about it. I mean look at this guy: 3456a33d69065572fa28fa9ebec1134b.png

You can look at that gigantic rabbit king and tell me it isn't glorious. I also really enjoyed how the intro ties into the game, great job!

Robed Bird Reckoning by alexrose 2021-05-08T14:46:46Z

I appreciated the unlimited slowdown, else I would probably not have been able to beat the game. I am impressed with the fact that you managed to make such a "difficult" platformer game so accessible. There are several things which I will try to remember for the future. A couple of examples being the in game tutorialization, great use of gating the player from continuing before they have understood the concept. The large amount of checkpoints helped make each death less frustrating.

Like always, your entries have great assets, lots of humor and overall polish. Though I will say that I miss Rude bear, hope to see him soon again :)

HELLEVATOR by pickens-inc 2021-04-29T10:52:15Z

It's awesome that you guys have such a strong style that one can tell that this game was made by you. I liked your previous entry, but this is even better. I love score attack games, it's basically my favorite kind of Jam games to play. This does so many things right, most importantly it makes you feel like a total bad-ass!

The music and sound effects are also on point, everything feels very polished!

I managed to get to around 2450m, but will try to beat that record later.

Wall of Red String by PTSnoop 2021-04-30T16:03:43Z

"Oh this is satisfying" - The first thing I said when I started playing. I was a huge fan of your previous entry, so I got very happy to see that you participated this time as well.

This is such a unique idea, and the funny thing is that it reminds me of making UML-diagrams of all things.

The visuals, music and overall presentation where all top notch, especially for a compo entry!

This is one of the best examples of why game jams like Ludum Dare are awesome, this is such a strange and funny concept, and it's executed so well.

Shoutout to the voice acting and the cinematics, something which is very rare in gamejams!

Great humor as well, both the acupuncture & the people you massage where hilarious!

Disco Inferno by Simon Rahnasto 2021-04-28T18:04:15Z

@zimny11 Yes, you can enable full screen in the settings menu (accessed from the menu at the start). Thank you for the kind words! :)

Disco Inferno by Simon Rahnasto 2021-04-29T17:56:34Z

@wolfrug Ah... That's a bummer! Sorry for that :(

Sounds like audio was turned off in the settings somehow, because the sounds you did hear are the only ones which are not affected by the settings (due to the fact that we forgot to add them to the correct channel). That's a shame, like you said sound is a big part of our game. Glad to hear you enjoyed it anyway!

Disco Inferno by Simon Rahnasto 2021-05-09T19:39:09Z

@blinry Im a bit confused because all voice acting has subtitles. Is your resolution lower than 720p by any chance?

@blinry That’s super strange, but I appreciate that you tried it again, thank you!

The deepest heist by Adrien Dittrick 2021-04-28T13:23:19Z

One of the best takes on the theme that I have seen in this jam, it's such a unique idea. I love the minigames as well, you managed to create so much content! Impressive entry! :D

Fever Dream by RAFFE 2021-05-01T07:24:29Z

Great concept, you managed to make it very clear that you are going deeper and deeper into a dream and it goes well with racing! It's a very underused genre in game jams and I always appreciate when people do something a bit different. My favorite part of the game is the level design, each "world" or track had it's own unique feel.

I also really like the in-game tutorial!

This was an incredible experience, I have trouble knowing where to start. The dialogue is fantastic, kudos for having voice acting, it adds so much to the experience. The graphics look like something you would expect to find in a full release on Steam; not a game jam.

The mini games are different and interesting (my favorite one was the puzzle where you had to turn on the lights). But the thing that really stands out to me is that the game is better than the sum of it's parts, everything just fits together so well. Impressive that you managed to create such a coherent experience with a large team; it's no easy feat.

Dark Souls Tactics by antvelm 2021-04-28T13:05:50Z

The atmosphere and graphics of this game is just stunning. I also found the "overworld" mechanic very cool. I died a couple of times at the cemetery, so it definitely has that darksouls difficulty; as advertised :D

Kicks'n'Relics by Valden 2021-04-29T14:52:21Z

You managed to make me feel like and absolute beast, I had a blast beating these poor mummies to a pulp. It was really fun to combo your attacks, specially when you get the staff. I liked knocking people into the air and throwing the staff on them. It was impressive that you had time to create a custom animation for it's attack. Speaking of animations, the game looked as great as it played!

Magic Frontier by Firebelley 2021-04-28T08:46:02Z

There are a lot of things which I like about this entry. First of all the visuals and music create a fantastic atmosphere and mood; It looks and feels like a released game.

The gameplay itself is "simple", but in the best way possible. Puzzle games are not fun if the difficulty comes from overly complicated mechanics, anyone can make a game like that. What this games does so well is that it takes those simple to grasp concepts, and creates really challenging puzzles. That is incredibly hard to do and shows that you spent time on designing them.

You should consider creating a mobile game, it's that good!

Dive to live by Jammin 2021-04-30T13:29:17Z

There have been a few gorgeous entries this LD, and this certainly is one of them. What a unique style you have! I felt like such an asshole for spending like 2minutes trying to wiggle myself up to a coin (which I didn't manage to reach) when I found out that there was a person in need at the bottom, haha (or was it "yourself" like you hint in the description? I hope so... It would make me less of a bad person).

The presentation is just phenomenal, you clearly know how to tell a story. Everything from the little "cutscenes" to the overall presentation and music is just so well put together. After I was done I was left with a feeling of wanting more.

I read someone commenting on your team size and being disappointed by the game length. They have clearly never worked with a large team, it takes a lot of effort to organize a lot of people and not everyone has the same skillsets.

This is one of the better entries I have played this jam, I enjoyed every minute of it! Great job!

Treasures Of The Depths by Uzpykes 2021-04-29T09:45:14Z

This was a very pleasant game to play. I like the fact that you don't see blocks when you get deeper (unless you cleared out blocks above), just one of many examples of small details that you added which are great. The graphics are all slick and very coherent. For a compo game I would go as far as saying that it's one of the better looking ones!

This would be great as a mobile game, you should consider it! :)

Trek Through Billy by dk5000p 2021-04-28T12:39:29Z

Always fun with voice acting in game jam entries, good job on that! I like the light hearted humor, great job!

Katabasis by HowlingShame 2021-04-28T13:15:47Z

This is the first entry that made me laugh :D

I think the limbs getting dismembered is the best thing I have seen so far in this game-jam, I have no idea how you came up with this idea; but I love the fact that you did!

Lucky Adventurer by Huntrox 2021-04-28T11:58:53Z

I really like the 3d-perspective combined with 2d sprites. I can't remember ever seeing that before, but it really works great. Love the darkness and light system, gives it a phenomenal mood and atmosphere!

Awesome game :)

Deep Dive Drive 2000 by Dane Tesla 2021-04-30T12:49:53Z

Woah, where do I even begin. The mood of this game is just phenomenal, I could sit and cruise in this car forever! The idea is very unique, safe to say that I have never seen anything like it before :D

It was so cool that you had multiple radio channels, I enjoyed litsening to the little easter eggs that you had added. My favorite was the Wifi emitting monks, sounds like a great superpower!

Speaking of wifi, this made me laugh: ffb8657533414cb31e5818274c0c69f5.png

Amazing entry!

Kira's Flower Delivery by peterfiftyfour 2021-04-30T13:00:29Z

What a different and unique style you have, I love it. It feels like something straight out from a cartoon (and I mean that in the best possible way). I am terrible at rhythm games so it took me quite a while before I was able to start spreading flowers, but it felt very rewarding when I started to manage.

There is something strangely motivational and uplifting about this game. Thank you for creating this gem, it's entries like this which make Ludum Dare special!

Birdy adventures of Sherlock Worm by spacecadet 2021-04-29T14:31:52Z

That opening scene is just phenomenal, it sets the tone right of the bat. The premise is really strange and hilarious. It was quite challenging, which is a plus in my book! :)

Overall a great entry!

CAELUM CORE by inertiaa 2021-04-29T14:15:35Z

Those graphics are really sweet, you got a very unique style going on. I struggled a bit, but after a little while it started to click for me and I was able to actually get quite far fairly quickly. I enjoyed the music and sound effects as well!

The Pit by Van Phan 2021-04-28T11:47:38Z

I find the physics very impressive, not sure how you managed to get it so smooth!

However I was not able to find any lost possessions, I went up and down a couple of times (staying away from the vibrating balls which I assume represent the "notorious hand"). Could I get a hint perhaps? Would like to see how it ends :)

Either way, cool idea!

Little Boy Commits WarCrimes Against Nature by Yahay 2021-04-28T11:39:17Z

This was a really fun puzzle game! The graphics are nice and coherent, I especially liked the light effect which gives the game a nice depth ;D

I also like how the ending connects back to the town, so it goes "full circle"!

LD49 — Unstable

Captain Peggles by Sheepolution 2021-10-18T09:56:28Z

Gotta love that sheepolution magic, you can't put your finger on it, but it's there and it makes your games something else!

I really enjoyed this one, the graphics are so freaking cool and the animations are just so good. I loved the little unique sound that each person makes when they talk, that is something which I might steal!

I have never really been a fan of typing games, but this doesn't really feel like one. You managed to balance it really well, I feel like it was always a really close call, but I juuuust managed. Really smart game design to have the player literally learn to walk, before the game starts.

There is so much I want to talk about, mainly the amount of polish that has gone into this. This is one of very few game jam entries where I can't really think about anything which could have been polished further, it's just perfect. The sound, music (and before mentioned voice effects) are all really good and add to the overall atmosphere and mood.

As always, fantastic entry!

Bling! by kuro 2021-10-09T14:40:56Z

The concept is really cool, I love card-based games myself. Like usual your particle game is just SO strong! :fire:

Let's take the combat transition sequence which triggers after you win a battle. That just makes you feel like a total badass! The movement particle effect is super satisfying as well. The whole minimalistic art-style just works so well!

You say that the game is more like a prototype, but it does have a lot of cool components. The shop was a very nice feature which I did not expect. And you have some nice quality of life things, such as not needing to select an enemy for an attack if there only is one remaining. The bottom line is that I enjoyed playing this entry, and I think you did a fantastic job! :)

Anti-Bomb by IcyLava 2021-10-07T09:06:04Z

I don't think I have ever seen a game where the trajectory indicator is as important as it is here :D Makes me want to check out how you coded it, it looks and works perfectly, had you not nailed that part the game would have suffered a lot. This is a really cool entry, I love games that are simple with few well fleshed out mechanics, but which uses those mechanics to create a lot of varied content. Basically the cliché "easy to learn, hard to master". The entire package feels polished and solid!

I did not manage to win the game yet, going to give it another try in the weekend. I wonder if there will be a place where you need to perform a double bomb jump, initially I thought it was needed fairly early on and was so happy when I managed to pull it off. Later when falling back down I noticed you could also do it with a well placed single bomb.

Great entry as always! :trophy:

Anti-Bomb by IcyLava 2021-10-09T23:28:15Z

Thank you for submitting it to the stream, was a lot of fun to play the game again. It was always my intention to return to it and beat it, extra fun to do it while you watched!

If anything, I appreciated the game even more the second time playing it. I feel like the skill ceiling is really high, which leaves room for a lot of interesting ideas in which you could expand on it, and I hope you do!

Flat Earth (Not Another Rude Bear Game) by alexrose 2021-10-18T09:47:43Z

The reason why I am always excited to play your entries is because they are memorable, which is really rare. I can remember most of the around 20 Rude Bear games that I have played. That is because you guys always do something different, and do it really well.

First I was a little bit sad when the game seemed to feature Rude Bear or take place in the Rude Bear universe. Now I love RTS games, it's my all time favorite genre so I was still very excited to play, and there are a lot of things which I like. Probably going to steal the concept of having buildings "auto" create units for example

The music, just like the game, starts of really nice. Like pretty much everyone else have said, when those aliens and later dinosaurs came, man I died. It's the best thing ever! The gameplay get's a lot more hectic and the world starts to spin around like crazy, It was a lot of fun to see building flying around. I managed to live quite long, but in the end I lost everything... AND THEN I SAW HIM!

Rude Bear, chilling down below. Obviously I spent a good 30 minutes trying to flip the world over, because fuck the world, save the bear! I tried a lot of things, such as first tilting the world to one direction, and then trying to pendulum it into the opposite direction in order to flip it. Unfortunately I was never able to do it, but I am very happy that the Bear was in the game :bear:

Thank you for creating yet another memorable experience, see you next LD!

Beat Server by pickens-inc 2021-10-08T20:09:10Z

I am indeed such a smart developer, and I have a lot of friends, because I made it to the top 5:

5cac1d9498838c5ed990ac9ee6f06f57-png.jpg

Is that enough? No! I will continue to weave magic, using javascript and AI, the best way to improve your score!

This is one of the Ludum Dare games which I have spent the longest time playing, and I am not even "done" with it. I just love everything about it, from the great dialogue, to the sick music and this is coming from a guy who is not usually into rhythm games (I play Beat saber from time to time, but nothing else really).

I do love score attack games in general though, and the fact that you added a online leaderboard gives the game so much more re-playability.

So yeah, what can I say apart from well done! This is a fantastic entry and I love everything about it! :trophy:

Darkness In Bloom by Simon Rahnasto 2021-10-06T21:01:20Z

@tomssuli Thank you for the kind words, we tried to focus on quality over quantity, glad to hear you whished there was more!

Regarding your question: Enemy damage increase your instability, by giving you Chaos/Lifeforce (The black & White bar at the bottom). It selects whichever you have the most of, so taking damage while you have a nearly full bar will kill you.

Quantum Splitter by thetatautau 2021-10-09T23:37:21Z

Thank you so much for submitting this game to the stream. There are very few jam games that I return and play after playing them one time. This is part of that very exclusive club, I am going to do the final 4 (or was it 5?) levels in the coming days.

The beauty of this puzzle game is the fact that the difficulty comes from the intelligent design, rather than complex rules or mechanics. I was continually amazed at how intricate each puzzle was.

The pacing in which you introduced new mechanics and rules was phenomenal. Actually tutorializing your puzzle game is one of the most important things in ensuring that people find it fun, and not unfair, to play. You managed that incredibly well.

The satisfying sound and minimalistic graphics where the icing on the cake.

Superb entry, well done :trophy:

Kyle vs. The Universe by notApollogising 2021-10-09T23:17:31Z

Oh wow, this is such a hidden gem! Thank you for submitting it to the stream, I had a TON of fun playing it

First of all, I appreciated the great writing, I'm not usually that interested in story (specially in jam games), but the humor in this one helped a lot and in the end it was one of my favorite parts of the game. The game itself is great btw, very strong Cuphead vibes which is a great compliment. Both of the bosses are some of the most fun bosses I have ever had the pleasure of facing in the hundreds (I must have passed a thousand by now, 19th LD) of Jam games that I have played.

The art is also fantastic, it's so charming! :trophy:

JennyBee by Iori Branford 2021-10-09T23:26:19Z

What a Lövely game! Thank you for submitting it to the stream

It took me some thinking and strategizing, but in the end I managed to squash the ant invasion and usher the bees into a new era of peace!

The idea of this game is great, I found it so cool the first time I saw the beehive fall down when it lost the final connection to the tree. Never seen a game like this before, a lot of points for originality :star:

Great job! :trophy:

Un-Ren-Table by WegPast 2021-10-07T21:15:14Z

Well this game fits the theme really well! Those darn wizards need to chill a bit xD

Loved the voice acting, the graphics are super cute and the overall mood of the game is great!

After about 7-8 playthroughs I managed to get height which I am pleased with:

7ba154ef71ec620818521f68104c5b47.png

It was cool how you could save a tower from falling by placing a block a bit offset, to negate the leaning.

Divine Intervention by YogurtTheHorse 2021-10-09T23:12:11Z

Thank you so much for submitting this gem to the stream. I had a ton of fun playing it (though it wasn't easy when trying to concentrate on so many things and multitasking haha)

Very happy that I managed in the end!

Where does one even begin with a game like this? Well for a starter, the graphics are absolutely stunning! I love the idea and the execution is super good, it feels so polished. One of my favorite things was the fidget switch, the sound effect and visuals made it such a satisfying little detail!

I did not feel like the game was too short, this is a game jam entry. I would much rather play a short fantastic entry like this, than a much longer and less awesome game.

I would love to see you guys run with this idea and make more levels and add more features. Someone suggested making it co-op, like "Keep talking and nobody dies", that would be awesome. Either way, please let me know if you decide to continue development!

Divine Intervention by YogurtTheHorse 2021-10-09T23:30:00Z

@yogurtthehorse Followed on itch and twitter, thank you!

Hammer Keep by BadPiggy 2021-10-07T08:43:54Z

I love score attack games, and I love the aesthetic of BadPiggy entries. So needless to say this game is awesome!

Like usual you art style and "2.5d" perspective look and feel really nice. I like the idea of having the instability bar also serve as your health bar, that's a nice take on the theme. The single most important part in a game like this are the controls, that's the difference between something which is fun and something which is just frustrating. The great thing is that you nailed the controls perfectly, they are super tight and give you full control of your character.

There isn't really anything to complain about, it's a small, polished and overall pleasant experience.

Would be cool if you decided to make a post jam version with an online leaderboard. If you do, let me know because then I will hammer my way to the top of it :hammer:

Lucky's Table by tjm 2021-10-09T23:05:06Z

Thank you for submitting the game to the stream! I had a lot of fun playing it :)

I am a fan of pinball games and was super thrilled to see that you had made one. The fact that you can affect the ball so much through the shaking actually was a fantastic mechanic. One of the "less exciting" parts of pinball is when you have no affect on the ball for an extended period of time. That was never the case here, at any time I was able to influence the ball, which just made it feel a lot more interactive. Quite annoyed that I couldn't get one more hit to breach the 3000 point barrier, but I am going to return to it and try to do it (maybe tomorrow :) )

Visually this is a fantastic looking game, I can't believe you managed to pull this off in such a short time, and by your self.

:trophy:

D.A.D Logistics ltd. by Xparker 2021-10-09T22:54:23Z

Thank you for submitting the game to the stream! I had a lot of fun, even though greed sank my ship and caused a bigger international shipping crisis that the boat in the Suez canal.

Like I mentioned, I really like the fact that you have an in-game tutorial. It was made in a really clever way. The game it self is a lot of fun, found it awesome that your ship can sink when you are in the bay, that was the first thing I wanted to test.

I liked the varied weather effects that occured when the ship was sailing as well :)

Overall a great entry! :trophy:

Ropy Woply Doo by Jackaljk 2021-10-09T23:23:30Z

Hands down some of the best music I have heard this Ludum Dare! Thank you so much for submitting your entry to my stream, I had a lot of fun playing it!

The rotating camera was a cool idea, really made the game a lot harder. With that in mind, it was fantastic that you were so liberal with the check points. Thanks to that I was able to finish the game which is always cool!

Great use of the theme, great music and overall a great experience! :trophy:

Unstable Towers by Immow 2021-10-07T09:37:35Z

I have spent more than an hour on this game so far, it's strangely addicting. I like how the concept is very simple, but there are a lot of cool tricks which you figure out after a while. One thing that I use a lot is to "hammer" in crates that are not placed well with another box. The physics are tweaked really well, whenever everything blows up it always feels like it was your own fault.

Oh and also, not to brag or anything, but I believe that I am one of the top Unstable Towers players in the world :sunglasses:

6fbb063820b298ac9573089e53a8caf3-png.jpg

I managed to get to 26, going to try to reach 30 later. Since that picture I have found a new pro strat, the left and right walls go up to the screen top. This means that you can stack some crates there as well, 1 on each side is easy enough to do, getting two requires a lot of concentration since you have to visualize how the crate is moving outside of the screen. I have not yet managed to stack 3 on the sides, but it should be possible. That gives another 6 points. I think it should even be possible to pull off 35

All in all, great entry! :trophy:

Unstable: Incendiary Cargo by LucasGlass 2021-10-09T23:20:15Z

It was a lot of fun to play this on stream, even though I am apparently the worst unstable incendiary cargo delivery person in the world. I intend to return to it and try to beat it later though :)

The idea is great btw and you executed it really well too! If I remember correctly you said this was your first gamejam, that's insane! Congratulations on being awesome :trophy:

Plundering Boy by HaaYaargh 2021-10-09T23:01:09Z

Thank you for submitting the game to the stream. It was a great first game to play. It's always exciting to launch a game made with unreal engine, some of the effects that you made look super dope. I get a "Minecraft with RTX on" feeling from the graphics in general.

The idea is really cool, I haven't seen anything like it in the jam. You incorporated the theme in multiple different ways which was nice to see. Great idea to have the items lose value each time you dropped it (instead of, for example, breaking. Which would have been a lot more frustrating and made the entire experience a lot less pleasant).

The singing before you go to plunder, which turns into the instrumental version when you board the ship was an awesome little detail which I appreciated a lot. Shame that I can't rate you on Audio!

Seaguls... the damn seaguls! There was a lot of humor in this game for sure :)

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Gaia by kuro 2022-04-06T19:49:21Z

I like how you after a little bit realize that we are the monkeys. It's a really interesting take on the theme, and you nailed the execution.

As usual you manage to create a game which looks and feel great, with your own unique style. Even if I did not know that you had made this game, I'd be able to tell immediately. Great length, the game never got stale and I enjoyed reading the dialogue. The difficulty was tuned well, I didn't feel it was too easy, but at the same time it would have been annoying to die and restart. The point of the game is the story, so I was happy to be able to finish it. Finally the audio was nice and helped create a great atmosphere.

I truly hope that we are not just delaying the inevitable.

Thermal Runaway by TeamMonumental 2022-04-07T16:29:50Z

I like the voice a lot, it added a lot to the atmosphere. Great interpretation of theme, I felt very stressed running around trying my best to prevent everything from blowing up.

It's rare to find a 3d game in a Jam, it's even more rare to find a good looking 3d game in a Jam. You managed to make it great looking, superb entry!

Try Again by Flaterectomy 2022-04-09T07:31:24Z

While not being a normal fan of text-based adventure game, I ended up playing this game for longer than any other entry this LD, that says a lot about this game!

Going to take a look at your post mortem, very interested in the process of making a large branching story like this.

Great take on the theme, very nice music and an overall fantastic entry!

Riposte by pickens-inc 2022-04-07T11:02:21Z

I love score-attack games, and once again you have created an addictive one! I totally agree with "muriel", this would be phenomenal as a VR title.

The graphics are outstanding and the music is top notch!

Try to beat my score below :D

Drawn Out by mechanicallife 2022-04-09T08:57:49Z

Jävligt bra spel!

This has to be one of the best looking games that I have played this Jam. There are so many things about the visuals that I like. Even the menu feels like it belongs in a released commercial game.

It was a lot of fun experimenting with different decks, I like the auto-battler genre a lot

The Subtle Hourglass by Eli Delventhal 2022-04-07T17:01:28Z

I saw your trailer on the LD discord and knew that I wanted to play this game; the style is just very unique, which is something that I appreciate. Turns out the game was even better than I initially though, the time warp mechanism is incredible. I love how your "past selves" can help you a lot, or just block you and cause you to die. This game has potential if developed further.

As I am typing this I notice that it is a COMPO game, what? How? Amazing!

VargaVinter by Simon Rahnasto 2022-04-07T20:52:13Z

@unbugged Oh no, very sorry to hear that the game was unplayable for you! First time we hear about it, maybe you could DM me about it on discord (Jeeper#2222), would love to find out what wasn’t working for you! Maybe @tomssuli can steam it for you. The dialogue is a big part of the game and we don’t feel you would get the intended experience if skipped.

Edit: Thank you for taking the time to retry it, happy to hear that the game behaved this time!

Cursed Unicorn by gord10ahmet 2022-04-08T16:56:50Z

I enjoyed this game, and for a compo game you managed to do a lot of things. I find the unicorn incredibly adorable, so great job on that. Makes you want to protect it to your final breath!

This makes me think of "Vampire survivors", but from a platformer perspective; which actually is a great concept

I managed to reach level 8, which I am pretty proud of. What did you reach?

DashFight by antonsem 2022-04-08T16:41:12Z

I did not expect getting this hooked to your entry as I did. So far it has been the best experience I have had this jam. I am a bit biased as I love Arcady fighting games, but you managed to do it so well.

For a compo entry both the visuals and audio are top notch, I have literally nothing to complain about. Really liked the blood particles and the slow-motion effect as well!

The controls are tight, the mechanics overall are not overly complicated, and that is a great thing.

It takes literally 0 time to understand, but I feel like there is a very high skill roof. I would love to see you continuing development (maybe release a mobile version?). If you do, please let me know, I would love to play that

The Voyage of The Inevitable by TheFoppian 2022-04-07T15:50:47Z

Being the sole survivor on a large ship, in the middle of the storm AND being attacked by enemies sure sounds like the ultimate case of "delaying the inevitable". I liked the visuals and audio, they helped convey the feeling of being doomed! :)

Salvation From The Alien Planet by Tomssuli 2022-04-07T21:41:10Z

The RTS genre is very close at heart, and it's incredibly rare to find one in a game jam (and for good reason, they are not easy to develop, specially under time pressure).

Apart from being difficult to make, they usually require a fair amount of time invested before you can play them well. Here is where you made the smartest move, turning it into almost a pseudo "turn based" game lowers the skill floor and makes it instantly enjoyable. The first game I did die fairly quickly, probably only uploaded some 100Gig of data. But after that initial first run, I got the hang of it.

I derped though, pressed Escape and killed my second run when I had some 300gig

My third round I did even better, and I managed 1642 gigs, 4th place on the leaderboards, quite happy with that

score.jpg

I think that this would do really well as a mobile game, or even better on a tablet. The controls would translate over really well.

Apart from the great gameplay, I enjoyed the audio and the graphics, both go really well together and make for a good coherent experience.

Well done to your entire team, it's not easy to get such a large group of people on the same page and working efficiently! Hyvä peli!

Salvation From The Alien Planet by Tomssuli 2022-04-21T06:23:39Z

Awesome, please tag me in future updates :)

Message in a Bottle by hechi 2022-04-07T16:53:40Z

This was such a nice idea, and the execution is just superb! I enjoyed swimming around and reading each and every message; knowing that they where written by fellow jammers who where in the exact same situation as myself. I will be returning to this game (Which is quite unusual in game jams) from time to time just to read the new messages!

Oh and it was a nice touch that a new bottle spawned from another player during the game!

Oh No My Trophy by zimny11 2022-04-09T08:21:42Z

Not to brag or anything but you are looking at the current world record holder in "Oh No My Trophy":

trophy2.png

I'm a big fan of score-attack games, and this is a great one. It was a lot of fun trying to figure out an optimal strategy. In the beginning I would only focus on defending the middle and ignoring the harder to defend "outer-trophies". This made me survive longer, but I gained less score since I had fewer trophies. When I managed my above score I defended all trophies, and saved most of my more powerful abilities until I was past 500.

It's insane that this is a compo game; the visuals, audio and variety is superb.

I think you did a great job at explaining all the mechanics with pictures, instead of a wall of text. If anyone feels confused and overwhelmed, just play the game once or twice, then look at the picture. I promise it makes perfect sense then!

March of the Mega-Machines by Arttu Halonen 2022-04-08T21:00:10Z

I was actually also considering a tower defense when I saw the theme, it really fits the genre quite well. This is by far the best TD I have seen in a jam, incredibly polished. My record was just shy of 5 minutes. Great job balancing the game around a jam, since the difficulty is high the rounds are "faster" and I could try multiple different strategies, instead of playing 1 time for like 30mins.

Oh and the sound effects are incredibly satisfying!

Highrail to hell by BadPiggy 2022-04-07T17:59:52Z

Another stellar Badpiggy game! You always have the tightest controls and I love the fact that you have such a unique style that I would have known that this game was made by you even if it was hidden.

I completed the entire game, and the only thing I can say is that I wish that there was more!

A Simple Game of Clock Themed Pinball by LazyAlarm 2022-04-07T11:28:59Z

You really found a way to tie in the theme in multiple ways. Pinball already fit's the theme well, but you brought it in through the timer, which is literally a clock, that you need to hit in order to keep delaying the end. Very clever, and nice looking entry!

See if you can beat my record: aaaaaa.png

Forest by StudioCherno 2022-04-07T10:15:44Z

Nice to finally get to test a game made with Hazel!

Overall I enjoyed it and it was a cool experience :)

A cool moment was when I picked up the letter on the blacksmith's table, I couldn't read it because it was too dark inside, but there was light shining through a hole in the wall. I was then able to move the paper into the light, and read.

I don't think that the game should have been more tutorialized, I enjoyed the fact that you had to explore and try to figure out what's going on without all the handholding. And the big poster board which contained the "quest note", was one of the first things you see, and the rest was chained together nicely.

The only issue I had was that I followed a path of lamps, which I assumed would lead to the graveyard, but they lead me off the map and I had to restart. On my second playthrough I did manage to find the graveyard though, and got to slaughter some zombies :sunglasses:

Alarm Clock Arcade by blinry 2022-10-19T17:02:18Z

This is my favorite interpretation of the theme, you include it on so many different levels

I really enjoyed the fact that the levels are randomly generated, sure it resulted in a few unfavorable levels where I kind of instantly lost, but it kept each time interesting and made it less frustrating to replay it after dying.

Fun to see such an amazing entry made with Löve! I am curious to know how the (very awesome) intro was made, 3d rendered or a video?

Overall just a fantastic entry :trophy:

You've Got Mail! by Sheepolution 2022-10-15T16:07:00Z

Here I am enjoying my weekend and you dare make me work?

Impressive amount of polish, as always, I was very excited to see you working with a team this time, because it leads to some insane high quality entries. I mean when you are solo, you rival most jam entries anyway.

I did get fired fairly quickly, but I am going to give it a few more tries to see if I can't manage to hold down my job, got to eat and all that!

There is not much else to say, if this is not 5/5, then nothing is.

Bunny is going places by kuro 2022-10-08T17:49:20Z

How is this a compo game? The art is super cute, the music is incredible, there is a fun and humorous story... The effects are cool, like the lava place has incredible lava... AND the core gameplay loop is tight. I really liked the fact that it kept getting harder and harder, but at a nice pace. Every time I managed to "bunny going places", I felt really good and hyped about it, very rewarding.

I have played quite a few of your past entries, but this one is my new favorite. Seriously impressive, and a ton of fun.

Cursing Recursion by Flaterectomy 2022-10-09T08:24:02Z

Ooooops. After some more attempts I was able to find the right combination and win.. and my emojis of choice where... :drum:

I enjoyed this entry a lot, and just like some previous comments said, this is an entry you will remember. Which in my opinion is the best compliment one can give.

DiscoNinja by pickens-inc 2022-10-19T19:40:39Z

You made this in a day? Man I really wish you had the full three days

You have proven before that rhythm games is something you are very skilled at making, and it really shows here. The way the shooting "adds" to the music, rather than just needing to be timed with the music makes a big difference.

One small thing I would wish, is that I could dash while reloading.

I would love it if you took this "tech demo" and turned it into a full game.

As always, top marks! :trophy:

Big Block Mode by UnitedFailures 2022-10-09T13:40:56Z

I would love to see someone who is great at Tetris play this (It took me a couple of tries just to manage to clear a few rows ), I feel like this has great potential!

Had a blast though, and I like the visuals & music; it's all cohesive and create a nice atmosphere! Like @danield said, it would make a great app!

Supply & Command by Hare Software 2022-10-04T17:39:14Z

What a great entry! I really like the audio work, specially the engine sounds and overall the tank sfx. Visually the tank looks great and the explosion particle effect is very juicy. All of this leads to the combat being very satisfying, which is awesome

I feel like the balance was spot on, I managed to beat the game & raise the flag even though I am a bit tired after the jam.

The Hellchemist by ThorPalsson 2022-10-08T15:08:09Z

I love score attack games, and this entry ticks all the boxes to make a great one. Probably spent a good 40-50 minutes just playing and trying to get better, which is by far the longest I have spent on a game this jam.

I wanted to break into the top 10, which I managed: 2c69600dee37460487ba939e26ade016.png

My favorite part of the game has to be the movement, I am not sure what it is about it, but it is incredibly satisfying. The moment I figured out you could bunny hop I was instantly hooked. The visuals are also super cool. Overall a fantastic entry!

Planning on trying for top 3 next

World Warp by Ausstein 2022-10-06T16:06:14Z

I just have to say that I love the title "AI whisperer", cool to see the AI art that a lot of people are talking about in action.

I like the mechanic of swapping worlds every 10 seconds, I feel like you used the power of the AI to your advantage in a good way here, since making so many varied worlds would be difficult in the time constraint. Always nice to see advancements in technology lead to interesting innovations

Avoid Asteroid by zubspace 2022-10-08T09:06:41Z

I played this game yesterday, but was too tired to get that far, but I enjoyed it so much that I had to play it again today! Unfortunately I did not manage to beat all the levels, however I am planning on returning to get my revenge.

Love how the game is basically a real time puzzle, there are many different way you can approach each level and that gives it some nice re-playability.

The atmosphere of the game is super nice, the art and the music are all cohesive and result in a very pleasant polished feel. Great entry!

Far. by Honey Pony 2022-10-20T20:55:30Z

I think I have been very lucky and found a lot of hidden gems this Jam, but this entry is just insane. The amount of content is just out of this world (both literally and figuratively). In my 21 Ludum Dares I can count the number of compo entries on one hand that has had this much content and polish. The fact that you have nice sounds & Graphics just... Yeah I am at a loss of words.

The gameplay it self is really cool as well, I did not have the patience to reach the goal, but it was cool to see the variety of planets. It was also really cool that you could exit at the right, but move around the ship. I ended up surfing behind the ship and harvesting materials that way

I honestly think that this would make a killer mobile game if you expanded it.

If this is not 5/5, then I do not know what is. Regardless of the results this game is a winner!

10 Seconds To Annoyance by zimny11 2022-10-19T18:50:26Z

First of all, I. LOVED. THE. INTRO. Poking fun at everyone skipping the instructions. Now let's talk about about the game:

My first thought was "Hmm, should have added a grace timer on the jump", then I remembered the goal is to make it annoying -> Well done.

Then I thought "The jumping and movement is a bit floaty", then I remembered the goal is to make it annoying -> Well done.

At this point I get it, and it is glorious. Like this game has sus amongus tiles... And the freaking ARROW, it broke me.

This is one of my favorite compo games, I can't think of a single thing I would do differently. Everything is very cohesive and well put together! :trophy:

Tanker's Nightmare by Skvader_418 2022-10-10T16:52:06Z

Saw it played on stream and had to give it a go, I love score attack games and this game felt very nostalgic for me. When I am less tired I will go for your highscore @skvader-418

I liked the graphics and the audio, they are cohesive and easy to "read" so you can react quickly. Great job!

Downpour by chris1919 2022-10-07T06:05:49Z

This is one of those entries you will remember after the jam. I got it sent to me from a friend and instantly after finishing the game I sent it out to the rest of my team.

I love the intro, you manage to tell a story and make me care about the bat in a masterful way. The art is adorable, the sound is great. Its simply an overall great experience. This is not a game where you crammed in the theme, the use of the theme actually made the game better.

Fantastic entry!

Verdant by JustinMullin 2023-01-13T21:09:39Z

Currently my favorite board game is "Spirit Island" (it reminds me a lot of this, defending an island against invaders), so you can imagine how excited I was when I played this game. First of all, great that you have a tutorial in the beginning, it helped with setting up and making your first moves, which made this incredibly complex game feel less intimidating.

My favorite part of the game was figuring out the different spell combinations, and there sure were a lot of them.

The story created a great feel of importance and gave what you were trying to accomplish a meaning. In the end I managed to win, which felt very rewarding!

Harvest Heist by Sheepolution 2023-01-25T17:42:15Z

What a glorious entry! the animations are fantastic, the voice acting is phenomenal, the entire premise is so silly that it becomes a master piece. I always have high expectations playing your games, but this time you have out done yourself. This may very well be my favorite Sheepolution entry (and for sure the best Jam entry I have tried this LD), and that is saying a lot. #SheepMagic

Public service announcement by kuro 2023-01-25T18:00:09Z

I did not even trust the first time it looped until it had been going for a bit

How hilarious if you had an actual game trigger at that point haha

Well this certainly was an experience, and I am glad you participated instead of skipping it. One of the best parts of LD is seeing how you manage to create something cool and unexpected using particles, and this time was no exception. I spent most of the time "Playing", watching the crop particle effect. Glorious!

I Require Human Parts by Flaterectomy 2023-01-14T09:17:04Z

I was a big fan of your last entry "Cursing Recursion", and I am glad that you continue with your own unique style of games! What makes this game work so very well is the atmosphere you manage to build, not sure how you do it but there is so much tension (though the music and the writing are excellent and no doubt contribute to this).

The game had the perfect length where I was at the edge of my seat at all times. Overall another fantastic entry :trophy:

The Bountiful by 100th_Coin 2023-01-14T20:28:00Z

It's the comment music, boom boom boom, it's the comment music, the muuusic you hear when you read this comment, boom boom boom. Seriously that was the best title music I have heard in a long time, you should get 4th in audio for that (and humor)!

No actually, you need to win humor, and overall for that matter because this is one of _the_ best compo entries I have played in my 22 Ludum Dares. I know to expect great games from you but, this takes the price, it's all downhill from here for you!

I don't know how to express how much I enjoyed this, but I laughed out loud when I heard the voice line after stealing on day one "Your not even going to try to grow you own?"

Needless to say I killed a couple of people, stole a bunch of corn and won a ridiculous price. Now we need to get you the most well deserved #1 price as well. :trophy:

Heroes, Please by Quoclon 2023-01-14T12:35:50Z

The graphics gave me some nostalgia as it reminded me of an old browser game I played when I was young, called "Adventure Quest". It is tough with the limited time, but I respect that you did not give up and actually submitted something, which in my book is a huge win. If you choose to make a post jam version, feel free to @me. Would be fun to see what you had in mind

PS. Some of those bards looked like they lied on their resumé, haha.

@tomssuli Thank you for reporting the crash and sorry that it happened. I found the issue, a typo of +1 instead of -1 causing it to go out of range. If you redownload the game it shouldn't happen again.

Chop Crop & Drop by Simon Rahnasto 2023-01-10T15:54:32Z

@tomssuli Yeah I managed to fail to upload it by reuploading the original version. A bit tired post jam. Now it actually has been updated, sorry again!

Chop Crop & Drop by Simon Rahnasto 2023-01-14T11:04:02Z

@zbugba Correct, you unfortunately "progressed too fast" (Should have figured out a way to prevent this, but the only option is to die), but don't worry if you die you keep all of your upgrades and only lose the seeds you planted. A tip is to balance farming easier enemies with progression.

Hex-Yield by AndideBob 2023-01-16T20:52:43Z

This was actually exactly what I needed after a long and stressful day at work. What a relaxing experience. A lot of it has to do with the "juicy feel" that the sound & visual effects create. I enjoyed experimenting and mentally mapping them. Very unique take on the theme which was extremely well executed! :trophy:

Travelling Tea Maker by detectiveLosos 2023-01-14T13:55:27Z

Reap What You Sow by Hare Software 2023-01-13T20:19:55Z

Always impressive to see a game which has both an AI (which behaves very naturally) and the possibility to play local multiplayer. The gameplay is great, it does not take long to learn the rules but it is still deceptively deep. The cliché "Easy to learn, hard to master" describes it well

The whole game "package" is awesome, everything from the sound to the graphics come together to create a pleasant and cohesive experience. The voice acting was a nice touch, makes it feel more personal even when not playing against another human. But most importantly, it was a lot of fun to play!

Escape From The Ostrobothnia by Tomssuli 2023-01-14T19:54:53Z

I have played quite a few of your jam entries before, and while all of them have been very cool; this one is my new favorite. Hauska peli!

There is so much small details, like the fact that birds come to pick up seeds you did not have capacity of picking up was amazing. :trophy:

I really found it quite soothing and relaxing, I must have played for around 25-30 minutes.

Please tag me when you release the advanced version

Help! It's Raining Seeds by VaizAragorn 2023-01-16T21:27:48Z

I love that the way you harvest the vegetables is so innovative; I had a lot of fun running around trying to collect as many as possible while avoiding the angry crow! The graphics have a nice retro touch and I like that there are many different vegetables to collect (you have to be quick to harvest the biggest ones!).

This is a very nice game that demands you to stay focused! Fantastic job

Cardwork Cycle by Honey Pony 2023-01-16T21:33:54Z

I personally love board games, and this game really ticked a lot of those boxes. It was really nice to be able to sit back, relax and think about what my next move should be.

The game has a lot of juice going on as well. For example I really enjoyed the fact that the cards all "handle" really well, making them not feel like static images but actual cards. The sound effects are also very much on point, making it satisfying to interact with the game.

Very much appreciate the fact that everything is snappy, all animations are quick and the turns that were obvious could be done in a matter of seconds.

Great choice to allow the player to select gold instead of a card, made it so that I felt like I was rewarded even when drawing no cards that were of interest. And that allowed you to have another way to progress apart from the deck building, the items from the shop, which was a neat feature.

I haven't seen any other game which reminds me of this, and the farming really was the core of the game, not something that was shoehorned in to meet the theme.

Overall I have nothing but praise to give, excellent job :medal:

Plant Harvester by zimny11 2023-01-16T21:14:17Z

I started playing and felt like the game was pretty cool, but then it just kept getting better and better. I constantly went "HOLY SHIT WHAT IS THAT?". It's difficult to make a top down shooter which does not feel generic, and you really managed to make a unique experience. I absolutely adored the different enemies! My favorite has the be the corn which visually loses the corn after the AOE attack... No the califlower boss... no the little potatoes! My point is that they are all amazing

It took me a couple of tries but I managed to beat the game, at which point I almost got sad because I would have loved if there was an endless score attack mode.

Farm to Table: Wizard Edition by fc85057 2023-01-14T09:31:35Z

Ahh the voice acting is amazing! This sure was a challenge, but after a little while I started to get the hang of it. I think stacking up on a lot of seeds early game is a good strategy, and then trying to pick them up as you move past them to brew beer.

I like the graphics a lot, they together with the funny puns and voice quips make the game hilarious. This is why Dumbledore had to die in Harry Potter, so that this wouldn't become his fate.

The characters are super cute and the music really fits the harvest theme - its a nice combo that really sets the mood! At one point I didnt have enough baskets and that was pretty stressful!

So the best defense against being organ harvested is to have a terrible lifestyle, leading to no one wanting your organs... Excellent!

What a great experience that was, I dig the mood and visuals a lot!

My favorite thing about this entry is the fact that you actually made me feel a little bit bad, talking to these people and trying to gauge their organ vitality, and then tricking them to follow you under false pretense.

Oh and thank you for making failure not take you all the way back to the start.

Inbox Fool by 100th_Coin 2023-05-06T10:03:29Z

While your last entry still holds the spot as my all time favourite Compo game, this is an incredible game and my favourite one so far this jam!

I think it's the fact that you have such a unique and "own" style that does it for me, it's so far from generic and I really appreciate that. I also really love your style of humour, and the fact that you deliver it through some sick voice acting makes that much better.

The graphics are nice and coherent, again you have your own style and I would recognize this as your game without knowing it was. Both the Sound and music is great and hilarious. There was also a lot of innovative mechanics that I have not seen before, and the icing on the cake was the boss fight where he used your dragging mechanic against you in a pattern that you had to learn.

The more I reflect over each individual component of this game, and how good they are, the more I find it incredible that it is made by a single person... in 48 hours.

Strong contender for #1 :trophy:

The Courier of Cobblecove by SleepyStudios 2023-05-06T10:16:06Z

This was such a nice and relaxing game. One thing I think you really managed to do which is difficult is to make the "puzzles" very intuitive. This allowed me to simply enjoy the ride, as I almost always knew what I was supposed to do when I got a new request or item.

The graphics are phenomenal and together with the nice music you managed to create an atmosphere that just oozes of adventure. Great job! :star:

Ok now I have played it and I am really happy I found this gem. One of the most unique and awesome entries I have played this jam, top marks all around. The style of the game is really nice, the voice acting is incredible and the rest of the audio is great as well.

What an amazing entry! I found it really soothing in a similar way as The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, which is a huge compliment as it is one of my all time favourites. The voice acting was superb, the graphics are cute and very coherent. Very nice touch with the arrow that points where you need to go, without it I think the game could have been frustrating. Overall I would rate this as your best entry yet!

This was a neat experience, I would love to know what the best result someone has managed to get it as it is quite challanging. One thing that would be super cool is if you added an endless mode where you have 3 lives (- 1 life each time an item gets lost). Would be fun to see who gets the furthest

Total Party Swipe by Sheepolution 2023-10-08T09:07:13Z

I mean I always expect your games to have that 🐑 magic, but still, I was pleasantly surprised by it! The level of strategy required was very unexpected, I am not usually a fan of turn based combat, but you solved a lot of the problems I have with it here.

Most of the things I want to say were already said (very well) by @alexrose.

The idea of the game was truly unique. I could easily envision this becoming a very fun full game.

Rude Bear Rollout by alexrose 2023-10-07T11:43:31Z

It's always a pleasure to dive into another rude bear game, a Ludum Dare tradition that never disappoints and this entry was no exception. I was hoping to be able to eat rad boar at the end, thus getting all my stolen food back

The physics were very cool, impressive work! My favorite part was the intro comic strip sequence, which was glorious!

All in all, another fantastic addition to the 'rude bear' tradition. Well done

Alien Abduction Adventures and Astral Anomalies Abound by Flaterectomy 2023-10-06T18:30:29Z

It's become a tradition for me to play your entries each jam, and I must say, this one was a treat! It's very cool that you keep making text based adventure games, and it's impressive to see how diverse they can be.

I really appreciated the moments where nothing seemed to happen for a while; it added a realistic touch to the gameplay and I felt as if I was travelling in space hoping to find life. Then when I found it, it was difficult to capture; needed multiple attempts before catching the first one. Then the first two died terrible deaths stuffed into a small cargo space haha. All of this made it feel like a much bigger accomplishment when I finally managed to sell some aliens and buy my first upgrades.

Even though it's all in text, the website design perfectly complements the theme and enhances the overall experience.

Lastly, I enjoyed the music, it added a lot to the overall feel. Awesome job!

Ribbon 2 by 100th_Coin 2023-10-06T20:15:28Z

I mean at this point I expect that your games are going to be great, your #52 entry blew me away and I have since referred to it as my all time favourite. That changed today.

As a programmer it is always nice to see mechanics that are impressive, and the ribbon is both impressive from a game design perspective, but also from a pure coding perspective.

This game is an absolute masterpiece! The level of polish is insane, especially considering it was created by one person in just 48 hours. I can't help but compare it to a Nintendo title, which, in my book, is the highest praise one can give.

At first, I thought it might be a one-trick pony, but boy, was I wrong! The utilization of the ribbon mechanic in various ingenious ways kept surprising me.

And as always the music was a highlight. The soundtrack was fantastic, and the song at the end was simply glorious. I won't spoil the ending, but I absolutely loved it!

In summary, this game won the compo, if anyone does not give this game a 5/5, then in my mind they are insane. What else can you ask of a compo game? One day you should join the Jam part, I would love to see what you can do in 72 hours

Seriously consider developing this further and releasing it, I know I would pay for a full version and I am sure others would too!

Congratulations, you now occupy both the #1 and #2 spot of greatest compo games that I have played in my now 24 Ludum Dares. :medal: :trophy:

Sea Kelp Tower by HacksawUnit 2023-10-06T20:39:28Z

I was blown away by this game! While playing, I had to remind myself it was created in a mere 48 hours for the Compo category, it felt like a jam entry in terms of quality.

The platforming controls were incredibly tight, which really makes or breaks any platformer. The visuals were simply fantastic, especially considering that this was the work of one person within such a short timeframe. The audio was spot on, both the music and the sound. The entire game was cohesive and I have literally not a single thing that I would have changed. Absolutely one of the best entries I have played this Jam!

Fantastic entry!

Depthe by SleepyStudios 2023-10-07T15:16:16Z

When I moved the player for the first, my immediate thought was "Oh hey... I like this!"

The graphics were an absolute standout, super nice and wonderfully coherent. The audio was minimalistic but fit the game very well.

What impressed me the most was the seamless introduction to the game. The difficulty scaling and gradual introduction of mechanics acted like a tutorial without feeling like one. Elegant design at its finest!

Botpourri's Space Chase by Antti Haavikko 2023-10-08T09:58:11Z

Like right off the bat, the menu is so great. Displaying the high score & the cute character that looks at your mouse!

I love how the game does not even need a tutorial, in fact it was a lot of fun to sit and figure out how it works and how to not instantly die. I personally love score attack games, So I will be trying to get that 5th spot from "Emilllll". I am getting closer and tuning my strategy, so watch out for "DevJeeper" haha.

The gameplay is super satisfying, the amount of juice you managed to add is incredible. I love the audio effects that happen during combat and I really like the particle effect when the enemies die.

Overall a fantastic entry!

Fowl Play by Simon Rahnasto 2023-10-05T19:20:35Z

@bia-julian The game is 1080p (1920 x 1080), we currently only support that but I will see if I can fix a 720p (1280 x 720) version later. The game indeed has subtitles, which is quite a major part of the game as it contains all of the information and clues you need to solve it. Sorry to hear that it didn't show for you!

Some people in the past have had a setting in windows which scales programs to 125%. If you have a normal 1080p monitor but still don't see the entire game, check that this is not the case (under display settings).

@okshirl Thank you for the feedback! Our connection to the theme was that it all took place on a theatre scene

Fowl Play by Simon Rahnasto 2023-10-09T20:17:34Z

@zimny11 Thank you for the kind words and feedback. Question: Is your monitor < 1920 x 1080? If not then you should check if windows is upscaling all your apps (Windows has started applying 125% scale on laptops by default for some reason). https://gyazo.com/6f9d53530d6ba15b5503bd4664b90e8e?token=cc4c80e4b64b0f3c1383c4a682dd328b

Solid State Dive by ConradoClark 2023-10-05T16:55:43Z

I really enjoyed this. Occasionally the platforming was challenging, but the controls were tight, which made the experience enjoyable, instead of just frustrating.

One aspect I liked in particular was 'cleaning' the data by shooting blocks. It was akin to power washing, oddly satisfying. And The fact that this entire game was made by a single person is nothing short of remarkable!

The visuals and audio in your game are perfectly in sync, creating a delightful retro vibe. It felt like a nostalgic flashback to games like Jazz Jack Rabbit, which is high praise . Overall a fantastic entry, well done!

Gridlock: A Tiny RTS by Hare Software 2023-10-06T20:43:35Z

First time I get to play an RTS in a game jam, it is my favourite genre of games! There is a reason you don't see RTS games in jams, they are difficult to make. So it is extra impressive to see how well this game works. I love the voice acting, which was phenomenal as usual. I like the fact that it felt like there was a lot of strategy you had to use.

As always, your entries are more than a simple game, it's an experience that you remember long after the jam ends.

Fantastic job! :star:

Cavescape by Tomssuli 2023-10-05T17:38:11Z

This game is an absolute delight! Having played several of your previous games, I must say this one is my new favourite. The 'voice acting' with its blend of nonsensical words and funny (sometimes Suomi-noises) accents was simply fantastic. It, combined with some great humour, made the game hillarious (the ending had me in tears)

One aspect that truly impressed me was the tight controls, manoeuvring the rocket ship just clicked instantly. It's not easy to achieve that level of precision, but you nailed it. Great use of the theme, having to plan ahead and decide what upgrades to bring was interesting. Specially since I never had any combat and realized a while in that bringing weapons was not smart haha. Was the missions randomized or were you just messing with the player?

I did not manage to get the high score to work for some reason, I would love to try to speed run this again to see how fast I can do it.

Overall, fantastic entry and impressive that you managed to coordinate with so many people onboard you team, that takes a lot of effort! :trophy:

Cavescape by Tomssuli 2023-10-05T20:05:23Z

@tomssuli Makes sense, I always have to cut away so many things the last day haha. Would love to test the updated "DLC", ping me when you release it. Specially looking forward to speed running for the leader board

Limitris by zubspace 2023-10-07T19:33:51Z

I'm genuinely amazed by this "Tetris clone". I have never played a Tetris game that is so unlike Tetris, while still maintaining certain parts of it.

The gameplay was truly innovative, and what caught me off guard was the surprising amount of decisions to make during gameplay. The dynamics of filling, removing, and rotating added a layer of depth and made each move a thoughtful choice... that you had to make while under the stress of imminent death. It also fit the theme like a glove, both actions limit the space you are in, but have the ability to cancel each other out.

It's so funny that it's optimal to connect the blocks, just like in tetris, in order to more easily negate them with the opposite ability.

Being a fan of score attack games, I loved the fact that there is a number you can increase. I am a simple man, I see number, I make number go up.

Oh and here is my result:

6ad9647860e58fcd72b9a633a9f87092.png

Overall this game is a fantastic and innovative spin on Tetris, keeping the essence while making a completely different type of game. Kudos for creating such an engaging and fun experience!

Blocked by zimny11 2023-10-07T12:58:59Z

I searching for the active block for an embarrassing amount of time. I might need an extra cup of coffee! 😄

Puzzle games often struggle with the difficulty curve, but I think this game nailed it. It gradually became more challenging, keeping me engaged without feeling overwhelmed.

Oh and the particle effect upon winning was a lovely touch!

Well done!

Towerfull by Brainloaf Studio 2023-10-08T08:55:37Z

I thoroughly enjoyed this game! The voice line quips added a lovely touch, which gave the game a great sense of personality.

Absolutely loved the cute art style, together with the audio it created such a nice cohesive atmosphere and mood. The take on tower defence was refreshing, especially with the concept of summoning small minions to man the different "towers". (One thing that added a unique flavour was naming the minions) Considering it was made for a jam, I was genuinely impressed by how complete the game felt, very polished experience.

It was also nice to see that the game fit the theme even better than normal TD games. Usually I find that you keep upgrading towers instead of selling them, but here it was essential to sell off buildings to make room for better ones.

Overall a great entry!

Whiskers in the Dark by Diego Teran 2023-10-08T08:41:01Z

I had a fantastic time playing this game! The graphics were nice, I love the kitten animation! The dynamic light system was cool, it really added to the atmosphere which was a perfect blend of cute and a bit creepy. The first time the hand came down and stole my cat I almost got scared haha.

The intro sequence was really well made and immediately set the tone for the game.

Overall I enjoyed this a lot, great entry!

Chrysopelea by fizzbark 2023-10-06T16:21:27Z

This was a very pleasant game, I would love to have an extended version of it on my phone. The graphics were simple yet cohesive. The gameplay felt like a pleasant puzzle, like a better version of crossword puzzles.

The sound effects, especially the pitch variation with each step, added a nice touch to the overall experience. Finding words in the puzzle was satisfying and kept me engaged.

The interpretation of the theme is probably the most unique one I have encountered so far. All in all a fantastic entry, Good job!

Pixel Piles by Gabriel Chan 2023-10-08T09:40:01Z

The controls are ingenious. When I saw some screenshots I imagined you would control the character with for example WASD and the block with arrow keys. This is so much better, I specially love how you need to hit the walls to rotate the block, that is such elegant design.

The graphics are very nicely polished, the character and it's animations are super cute. Nice sounds and music; basically the entire game is cohesive and well executed.

I really like score attack games that are very challenging, because then you can start going for your record quite fast, instead of playing through 90% of super easy to get to the challanging part

04501c8f75c6bb37830f712d1416ff4b.png

Maybe not the best score, but I am pleased I managed to get above 500! Great entry :trophy:

Waterskin by HexyVexy 2023-10-04T16:28:13Z

This was a fantastic entry and I had a blast! The sound and music were top-notch, setting a cozy vibe that I thoroughly enjoyed. I'm a sucker for choose-your-own-adventure games, and your take on it was fantastic. Plus, the 'limited space' theme was cleverly integrated.

One thing that really got me was the freedom to choose my path without feeling trapped in a storyline. Often when I play "choose your own adventure", I feel like I do not actually have a choice and it is the developers adventure. I may not have navigated it all perfectly (lets just say my character had a knack for finding trouble and accumulating wine), but it definitely added to the fun. And yes, any game where I can give a cat some love instantly wins my heart!

In short, your game was a hit in my book. Great tunes, enjoyable gameplay and great writing!

The Big Crunch by Ategon 2023-10-06T17:09:42Z

I really enjoyed this game! The mini games were a lot of fun, great idea for a jam game! The graphics, although simple, looked really nice. The sound and music matched the game's look and feel perfectly, basically the whole game felt polished and cohesive! Im very much into score attack games, so having a leaderboard was awesome for that extra challenge and replay value.

Also, the difficulty curve was spot on. It eased you in, allowing for a learning curve at the start, but then it picked up the pace and got quite challenging pretty fast.

Overall a fantastic game, great job

PS. Here is my score :sunglasses: my score.png

Also, not sure why you disabled the mood category, this game has a fantastic mood. I would have rated it highly there!

The Big Crunch by Ategon 2023-10-06T17:59:54Z

@ategon Well it is not too late to enable them, if you do let me know and I will return and add a rating :)

The Big Crunch by Ategon 2023-10-06T18:34:35Z

@ategon Yeah , on the flip side they can also be accidentally turned off (Which almost made me miss getting a rank for a category we really focused on once haha). Anyways I rated them now so thank you for the ping!

Air-Raid Architect by ZungryWare 2023-10-07T11:53:15Z

This game had a great approach to the theme. The "limited space" really kicks in as the wasps wreak havoc on the map. Also great PSA about wasps being assholes, ever time I try to eat outdoors they come and try to eat my food & table.

The rebuilding mechanic with different structures was a cool feature, Initially I was confused about what good it does, but when they started shredding my floor it quickly became a big decision what to pick each wave.

Nice touch with the jetpack and multiple different weapons, overall a great entry! :x: :bee: :x: :gun:

Stardust Slingshot by Kath_art_ic 2023-10-07T15:05:45Z

This game was an absolute blast! Using the tractor beam to mine for minerals was immensely satisfying.

The end screen with the minerals falling down was a great touch, it reminded me of the level up screen in Vampire Survivors.

The theme was brilliantly executed, I did not expect to play a game where I was spiderman in space haha.

Overall a fantastic game! :trophy:

LD55 — Summoning

Summoner Symbols by Sheepolution 2024-05-03T22:03:33Z

Your game is one of three that I wanted to save for last, as a nice way to round off this Ludum Dare with great entries. I have said it before and I will say it many times, but there is something you do which makes your entries always stand out, the Sheep-magic-factor. And it is very present here. You manage to create a narrative, a story which is really captivating. If I would use one word to describe this it would be "intelligent".

You find a way to get so much out of relativly few things.

People have already said it, but I don't mind repeating it: Great visuals, mood/atmosphere, audio and dialogue. In short, a fantastic entry! :trophy:

The Wheel by kuro 2024-04-18T21:10:21Z

I'm just glad that you are still around LD @kuro. Been a while I since last time and I am looking forward to your next entry. I learned a lot of cool tricks from your previous entries and from our discussions on Discord! And while this is not so much a game as just one mechanic with dialogue. The wheel going to the opposite side when it rolled off screen was a nice touch.

:champagne_glass:

Seance by alexrose 2024-05-03T21:13:46Z

Well this is the entry I have spent the most time on, haha. It took me a bit over an hour to finish. But it was well worth it because I loved the ending, there's so many things I loved actually. Obviously, great art & voice acting. Fun with a @sheepolution cameo.

Such a unique take on the theme!

I agree with @100th-coin that this is a master piece haha. My only, super nit-picky nitpick is that I wish it did not say [ENTER] on the board, but that there was a different way to "lock in", maybe lighting the candles?

Top marks! Even though there was no rude bear

Necrowizardry! by pickens-inc 2024-04-18T09:23:52Z

Making 3d games look good in a game jam is near impossible, but somehow you managed! I really love the voxels with the fancy shaders, there's a fine line between looking good (kind of like Minecraft with cool shaders) and looking cheap.

There was a lot of really cool mechanics going on, as I was playing I actually found myself wanting to play this against other people. I could really see this being a great.

I liked the fact that you had to balance swapping into skeletons and back to the wizard for safety. Oh and my absolute favourite was blasting the enemy wizard into a group of my own skeletons and watch as they juggle him in the air.

Finally, audio is phenomenal, specially the superb voice acting, it gives the game so much personality.

To sum it up, I had a blast, but literally and metaphorically

PS, tried to go for flawless victory, I got close: victory.jpg

Demon Well by 100th_Coin 2024-05-03T22:30:15Z

I saved this game for last, it would not be fair to the rest of the compo entries if I played this early on. I knew you would set the bar so high, as you always do. And even though you are competing mostly against yourself since I compare your game to your previous entries, I keep getting blown away.

My favorite parts of the game were:

* Story, this rivals "The bountiful" in both in terms of humour and story telling. * Theme, completly unique entry. This time the theme kind of produced a lot of same'ish games, this is not one of them. * Package, How how how is this so complete? Like @belle said, you are truly a one man army.

Obviously it took 0.1 seconds to rate your game, if this isn't 5/5, then nothing is. Heck I would be giving you 5s even if it was a jam game! The fact that you have _not_ won an LD so far is nothing short of a robbery. I am rooting for LD55 being your turn!

Necrunmancer by Adam Martin 2024-04-17T22:06:10Z

What a delightful little game you've created!

Firstly, the music and audio are nice and cohesive. They add a nice ambiance to the gameplay experience and go very well with the graphics!

It was fun to try to manage your mana and make strategic decisions in the battles, you have a very solid foundation that I think could be expanded into a cool mobile game!

Overall, your game is fun, geat job!

Summoner Survivor by SleepyStudios 2024-04-17T21:58:44Z

I love the "survivors" genre, and this was a very unique take on it. It felt a lot more active, while still feeling like it belongs in the genre so to speak. Almost like a cross with a tower defence. I played quite a while, it's addictive; which is a great compliment.

Here is my highest score: 06369de7f6f61cfa121f6e787ff27b68.png

Blåkulla by Simon Rahnasto 2024-04-16T10:19:58Z

@6knowledge Sorry to hear that you had issues. The game requires a 1080p display. If your monitor supports that and you still have issues makes sure that you have scaling on apps set to 100% (Windows defaults to higher on laptops for whatever reason). You find this setting in "display settings" I have added this info to the description, thank you! 8fae805afd1add1f3da7462d8389ef4e.png

Boots Of Summoning by detectiveLosos 2024-04-20T22:41:20Z

I really enjoyed this game. I disagree with comments saying the movement was "sluggish", it felt very smooth and reminded me a lot of games like quake. I love score attack games, and one thing I find very annoying is when each run is very long, then you end up spending like 15 minutes on the "easy part", waiting for the last challenging 2 minutes. This game skips the boring part and throws you into action instantly. You manage to create that "Oh, I just want to try one more time"-feeling which is the hallmark of a good score attack game.

A lot of things were very satisfying, the enemies have cool animations and I appreciate that they have a smart enough AI that they will follow you well regardless of the path that you take (jumping etc). In the end this was my best result (probably not that good, but I did my best  )

score.png

I liked your take on the theme, I have played quite a few entries already but I have not seen anyone implement the theme in a similar way, so plus points for that!

Overall a fun experience, great job!

Summons of the Sovereign by Hare Software 2024-04-18T21:21:34Z

Well I am a huge board game fan and I loved your previous board games-esque entry "Reap What You Sow". So far I have only played it against the AI, but during the weekend I intend to play it in the PVP mode. Kudos for including both, that's quite a feat in a game jam.

One of the things that I find the most impressive is how you managed to make the AI opponent feel like a "real" person.

As usual with your entries the sound, music and voice acting are on another level. I also really appricate the Hare-software art style!

I think you are going to "Reap What You Sow", or in other words; great entry, deserves a great placement!

Elemancer by Tomssuli 2024-04-22T12:45:38Z

I love games that have a bit of a story, and you guys usually have a very funny one, this time is no exception! I loved the intro scene where the wizard instantly get's killed by the monster he summoned .

But I really lost it when I encountered the ducks. First you get a prompt saying something along the lines of "Let's see how these ducks like freezing", and I walk around for a little while wondering, ducks? What ducks? How bad could they be?

And out of the ponds all of a sudden, drunken knife & beer wielding ducks come rushing at me. I was both scared and laughing my ass off. Oh and nice touch with being able to freeze the lakes.

There's a lot of neat details like that in this game. And I really love the fact that you added them in, for example the parallax clouds or the spin animation of the fire elemental, instead of a normal run animation.

The sound and music are top notch, there's so many sound effects and they are very fitting. Also like that you have contextual music that ramps up when there are enemies.

As I was playing I started thinking about the fact that it was a shame that you kind of only used one element per area, and therefor never had to swap between them. Right after that I entered the first area where there were mixed enemies. And that is the last thing I want to talk about (which is the part I am going to steal from you) You do such a good job with tutorializing. It's really smart to have the player do things, then explain what happened and why. Instead of dumping a bunch of information on the player and praying they paid attention. This way you get fed bits and pieces in a way that is both fun and engaging!

PS. Awesome rap at the end, is it made by you guys  ?

Hyvä peli!

Church of Pain by ThorPalsson 2024-04-18T13:32:36Z

I knew this would be good when I saw the menu, I really dig the composition there. It sets the mood and you know you are in for a ride

"Let's go kick some demon ass", yes we will!

I love the small details like the "cross-hair", and the iron shight on the colt also being a cross. Great with voice acting, it really gives the game a personal touch. I like the graphics, they are a perfect blend of Doom and hilariousness.

Another thing that I like is the movement, where you can build up momentum by "bunny jumping". Similar to an earlier entry that you made "Hellchemist". That was awesome there, and it's even more awesome here.

Great job! :trophy:

Robo Climb by zubspace 2024-04-18T13:42:18Z

A game where you have to summon willpower to get over seemingly impossible challenges? Oh I love this, specially the feeling of desperately clawing a wall after falling down haha. I am nowhere near good enough at these type of games to make it far, but I would love to watch a video of someone who is showing how it's done by a pro

Great job overall!

Robo Climb by zubspace 2024-04-19T21:04:15Z

@zubspace Thank you so much for the video! I am in complete awe, how on earth did you manage it so fast! The video has given me an unreasonable urge to return and try to summit the mountain. I will give it a go tomorrow, wish me luck!

Ps, the ending was glorious, great build up with the faulty ram. Poor robot is Sisyphus; without even knowing it. Amnesia-Sisyphus! xD

Haunted Forest by zimny11 2024-04-17T21:43:49Z

I really dig the black & white + a bit of red color scheme that you have going on. It really sets the mood. First I misread your message that you replied saying "Well you _can_ kill then". So I spent like 10 tries, determined to own the bastard. Only to re-read your message and see that I had owned myself, haha.

But overall a fantastic compo entry, very memorable!

Spirit Edge by BadPiggy 2024-04-18T11:54:14Z

As always you have the most clutch controls and gameplay, it just feels so juicy. I love score attack games, and the thing you do really well is to make them very short and challenging. That way it feels exciting all of the time and you avoid having to play a long time just to get the where it matters. It's just full on action immediately.

I am quite proud of my score, even though I am sure most people will beat it

Ocean Screensaver for Windows 4K by Martta 2024-04-20T23:00:15Z

This certainly is a unique take on the theme, and in a way I feel like a screensaver is the ultimate way to have an "idle-game", that is such a good idea! How has nobody thought of that before?

The graphics are really nice, I like them a lot and they give off a very soothing and relaxed mood. Being visually pleasing is probably the most important thing for a screensaver.

I have now installed your game as my screensaver, so in a way your game is going to be the game that I see the most of

Innovative ideas like this are what makes Ludum Dare special, great job!

Mystery in Greensand Shore by barce 2024-04-18T21:01:31Z

This was a very cool entry! You managed to create such a cohesive "retro"-vibe, with both the story graphics and audio :sunglasses:

The moving based on number advantage or "zone control" reminds me of a board game that I like a lot called "Root".

All in all, a phenomenal entry, great job!

Tug Of Slime by Retrific 2024-04-27T09:50:55Z

This was such a nice experience, the visuals are simply gorgeous! I love the parallaxing trees, and the dark palette. This combined with the sweet soundtrack and satisfying sound effects give the game a great mood and atmosphere.

The gameplay is simple, but very effective and addictive. There\s a surprising amount of strategy I spend a lot of time playing on the impossible difficulty after beating the game on Easy and Normal. It took me about 10 tries, but after that I finally had tuned my strategy enough to beat it. I think the run itself took a good 10-15 minutes haha. I really appreciate the design of the game, where you solved doom-stacking (spamming a big bunch of minions mindlessly) by punishing it with the fire strike (which looks amazing btw).

Overall, great looking game that plays very nicely. Top marks! :trophy:

Dreambound Metal Fan by apoly 2024-04-17T22:12:46Z

Captain Peggles: That Man's Chest by Sheepolution 2025-04-24T10:48:55Z

As per tradition I play your and Alex Rose's games as the last two games of the Jam, that way I can end on a high note with guaranteed bangers.

And oh boy have you out done yourself this time. It's such an elegant idea, very innovative and just super fun in general. I am terrible at drawing, but it was very relaxing to sit and draw the map. Let's get some obvious points out of the way: Graphics, audio & voice acting: Just phenomenal, really polished!

Making an async multiplayer game for a jam is a genius move, you inspire me to want to do that some time in the future as well! Question, did you make some maps yourself at the end just to bootstrap the experience for the first few players?

I saw that it's possible to wish list this on Steam, I fully support that move, I think this game has huge potential!

I love the intro song, it set the mood instantly. The gameplay is simple, but incredibly satisfying, It almost feels good in my own brain as I clean haha.

I'm very happy I found this entry, it's wild to me that I have not stumbled across any of your previous games since you have participated so many times, but safe to say that I am going to keep an eye on what you make in the future, because I enjoyed this a lot! :trophy:

Further Below by Flaterectomy 2025-04-14T08:46:27Z

I love your text based adventure games, sadly I didn't play the one you made in LD56 since I had to skip that myself (though I will play it soon ), but otherwise I have played all of them! This was a cool one, I really liked how you manage to build up the atmosphere so well using mainly text. There's a lot of small tricks you use to enchance the experience (like using real time in the elevator, adding new text saying "still going down" etc).

Overall a great job as always!

And yes I did have a time, a great one in fact :v: 6874e27ae7cf2ab787523c41bc341d8b.png

Oasis Dawn by pickens-inc 2025-04-18T07:20:50Z

What a cool game, it reminds me of two games that I personally find very cool. Mainly "Overgrowth" which had very fluid 3rd person combat, it's the super smooth animations that you created that makes you just feel cool while you are playing. But it is also scratching that Mordhau itch with precise timings for things like parrying and dodge rolling.

It took me quite a while before I was able to become a murdermachine, one of the things I personally found very useful was to start rolling into combat, rather than just rolling away. This makes you able to gap-close quickly and allows you to get a few hits in before the enemies have a chance to react.

In the end I perished on day 4, but I was super close to beating that wave, and whould have only had 1 more wave after that to reach a new day. 42cf5f8be21bd97f8ceae1b683709c15.jpg

I wish I could have made it further, it was so cool to see the new ranged enemy which appeared on day 4, I think that one is the coolest of them all, such an amazing animation to go from a creepy crawling spider to standing up and shooting.

In short, cool action gameplay. Gorgeous visually (love the shine on the sword and the smooth animations), fun with voice acting in the start and overall just a fantastic entry!

Slinky Catch by Papaver 2025-04-16T12:15:39Z

This was really fun actually! I kept replaying each level to get a "fast" time (except of level 6, which as you can see was the bane of my existence), and overall just had a great time. Very unique game in this jam, haven't seen anything similar and I think it's a great take on the theme!

Level 4 was very clever, having to be on the platforms was just :ok_hand: and even more elegant when you think of the fact that it forces you to learn that you need to be off the ground for level 5, where I would have most likely gotten stuck without the help of the previous level.

Great entry! :trophy:

@papaver Oh really? Huh, well I will have to test it again later to figure out how you would do that

The Moon Reconstruction Program by 100th_Coin 2025-04-16T12:53:04Z

One of these days you will win compo, this may finally be that time (at least if my 5 :star: have anything to say). Your compo entries rival and exceed many Jam entries, you are what pops up when you look up "one man army" in the dictionary.

Fantastic job as always, the humor is top notch, the lovely unique art style that you have, the voice acting, the music, everything is perfect.

Obviously I had to get the moonstache. moonstache.png

Shleep by Rongo Matane 2025-04-18T07:50:11Z

What a great jam game, it just kept adding new things at the perfect pace to keep you entertained and wanting to continue playing. I really appreciate the mixing of actual footage, specially the earth quake part and the baby near the end was very funny.

Unfortunately it crashed (right at the end? When it said "I should think smaller") but I had a blast. The graphics are so gorgeous, but that is to be expected from you guys! Well done :trophy:

Pack by Jeremy Ryan 2025-04-24T10:59:43Z

How on earth is this a compo entry? The graphics are super slick, with very nice juicy polish (like items shaking when moved). The game concept is really satisfying, and you really push the "simple" mechanics so much and get a lot of interesting game play out of it.

Any time you finish a Jam game with a feeling of wanting more you know that it was a great entry. :trophy:

Nine Lives Deep by Simon Rahnasto 2025-04-19T12:22:41Z

@r8teful Oh no, you basically just need to stay put and enemies will come to you (+ bosses and more of the story). So you must have kited one of the enemies and thus missed the entire game. Would really appreciate it if you gave it another go. Thank you in advance!

Cave Glider by detectiveLosos 2025-04-14T08:37:01Z

Making a 3d game in a jam is hard, and this is one of the few times when I feel like it really worked out. The game looks gorgeous, the wind whooshing as you go faster really makes you _really_ feel the speed (In that regard it reminded me of an old game I used to play as a kid called Star Wars Episode I: Racer, which also communicated the speed in a great way). When you manage to speed up and not collide, you really feel like a super hero.

I think that this could become quite popular as a speed run game if you added some more maps and leaderboards, fantastic job!

I did not manage to beat the game, but I am going to give it another go later, that's how good the game is.

DeepFrame 9 by JavaSaurus 2025-04-17T11:05:48Z

The music just instantly sets the tone for the game (It gives me some jazz jackrabbit 2 vibes, which I adore). It's also a nice touch that you allow people to adjust the volumes with sliders in the main menu.

The gameplay was great, really satisfying and juicy. I must have played at least 20 times haha, I'm not sure how good it is but my best score was this:

Overall great job! :trophy:

DeepFrame 9 by JavaSaurus 2025-04-17T12:22:31Z

@javasaurus Haha that is awesome, a lot of childhood memories are tied to that glorious game!

The Drop by Langotriel 2025-04-11T18:17:54Z

This was a very fun take on the theme, I really liked the humour of how absurd it is. Kind of squid game-esque; but worse since there is literally no upside and you will become a pancake at the end haha.

The graphics are cohesive and nice and where the game really shines is the witty commentary and nice voice acting. I really appreciated that the intro was different when you restarted, that's such a nice touch.

Overall a fantastic entry, as always :trophy:

PS: I like score attack games so naturally I had to make it into the top 10! 0325218ce601c636ac742115fb7bf3c4.png

Fire Exit by ThorPalsson 2025-04-18T09:14:52Z

ok wow, the person who wrote "don't trust elves" really had a point! I found this game quite scary actually, I am easily spooked though, but it was the building up tension for such a long time. It's similar to how in the horror game Amnesia, not much "scary" things happen in the beginning, but you know something bad is coming and the anticipation of that makes you sit at the edge of your seat.

You do a great job at making everything feel unsettling, almost like the uncanny valley effect. A great example is when you start looping door nr 25. It was such a cool effect that when I after a while figured "maybe I'm supposed to turn" you see that the number has incremented behind you.

I kept thinking the game would end, and then it just kept getting stranger, spookier and more mind-bending. I really like when you reach the top and realize this is the "end of the line". It hits you that you have to jump just like the "jump scares" of people falling down.

After that it just got even scarier and more disturbing. I was freaking out when I was stuck in that room with the "touch us" text, certain there was some kind of monster that would eat me haha.

When I started climbing back up and heard the elf say "I'm going to die here... and so are you", that was a great "ah fuck me"-moment. After a few more jump scares (I hate elves now), I reached the cruel ending where I knew I was not getting out, but I was still scared when that little elf pushed me down.

What I mean with all of my rambling is that the game was great, I had a blast and got genuinely scared

Asterodeep by zubspace 2025-04-13T20:46:25Z

I'm running into a strange bug where asteroids stop spawning and I am just chilling in empty space. First time there were only a few asteroids, then I restarded and actually could play the game for a while before it unfortunatly happend again.

I wont rate the game since I have not been able to play it properly, please ping me when it is fixed and I will give it another spin. I love score attack games and when it had not bugged out it felt very nice, the shooting was juicy

Sea Dicegarden by zimny11 2025-04-16T12:02:33Z

I love board games and this game has some board game vibes which I really appreciated  I could even see this being further developed to a vs game where the player with the most points win, and similar to a lot of "euro" board games you are trying to balance building your engine and scoring points.

Like a lot of people already mentioned, the trial and error part was a lot of fun. Just an overall pleasant entry! :trophy:

Blip by osh.studio 2025-04-18T18:14:17Z

Just like others mention I thought of vvvvvvv when I played the game, and that's a great compliment. This is such a fantastic entry, it's short with super tight controls and with speed run potential. It does not take a lot of playing to feel that you spent a lot of time tuning everything to be just right. Watching @farzher speed-run video is a testament to how well you made the controls and level design.

Personally I am a big fan of the CRT shader, that together with the color pallet and sound gives the game a fantastic retro feel. I'm very impressed at how polished and coherent you managed to make everything, specially in a compo. Like I would struggle so much with the visuals and audio.

If this is not an automatic 5 :star: overall in compo, then I don't know what is.

One of my favorite games this jam :trophy:

AM I ORTHODOX? by ZungryWare 2025-04-14T08:25:19Z

Ok wow this was something else. I don't know what I was expecting going into it, but it sure was not this! This game is why I love game jams, it's so different and unique. Even though they are very different it still in some ways it reminded me of "Baba is You" (which is a huge compliment). I usually play a ton of games each Ludum Dare, after the Jam ends I remember a couple of them. This is a game that I will remember, it stands out from the crowd.

Fantastic entry!

Record Depth by Indiealesha 2025-04-17T11:19:20Z

Honestly great job leaning into your strengths and creating something very unique. It truly feels like this game was a classic flash game, which means you did everything right !

Even though there isn't as much "game" as many other entries I have played, this brought a smile to my face and kept me engaged thinking "what on earth is going to top these arms"? Top marks, especially in humour, I expect you to place highly in it!

LD58 — Collector

Head Count by Langotriel 2025-10-12T09:51:02Z

I love the graphics style and general vibe of the game. It's very unique, which is super impressive! Thank you for making me the CEO

As usual, great audio in terms of sfx, music and voice acting!

This is by far your most ambitious game that you have made, and it's very cool to see your pushing your boundaries. Great job as always, I'd give you high stars if I could rate :star:

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Clunky Ball by Karai17 2018-05-07T23:40:56Z

I really enjoyed this game, every level I thought "lets just try this as well" until the game ended and I got sad. Make more of this!

Entries like this is one of the things that make Ludum Dare great! Talk about thinking outside the box!

Guerrilla Gardening by randomhuman 2018-05-07T11:07:12Z

I finally had time to test the game. Before I get into feedback I just want to highlight how amazing the developer is, while trying to play his game on stream, for some unknown reason the screenshake was acting up for me, rendering the game unplayable. He sent me a custom version with screenshake turned off so that I was able to play without the bug. Mad props!

Now to back to the entry. Anyone who has played it will agree that this is one of the absolute best games in this LD, it uses the theme perfectly, has lovely graphics with a ton of juice and everything comes together to create a fantastic feel. Great job!

Elite Beat Zombygons by Archimagus 2018-04-26T14:23:11Z

I loved the game, even though I do not usually play rhythm games, I found this to be very cool. My favorite song was the 4th, so good job on allowing people to "skip" levels after playing them 1 time. That is a great thing to have in a LD entry.

Jeff From Accounting by Almax 2018-04-25T21:13:56Z

I have no words for how amazing this game is. So I will just type 5/5

Dungeon Scrawl by ildfuglen 2018-04-25T21:53:37Z

Pretty much everything blew me away. I thought it was a Jam game and was prepared to give you a ton of praise. When I found out it is a compo game I couldn't believe it. Its genuinely one of the best compo games I have played to date in my 11 LD's.

Frogger: The Jigsaw by loveapplegames 2018-05-10T23:07:21Z

Finally had the time to test the game as promised, you have also managed to get 20 ratings, good job!

I liked this enty, it had an interesting idea and was executed well. It was fun to see the background forming as you progressed with the jigsaw puzzle. It is difficult for sure, but not too difficult, after a few tries I started to get a hang of it.

Great job!

Officer Pain - The Smash Cop by DaragonGames 2018-05-13T11:32:41Z

Visually impressive and funny looking characters. It's definitely an interesting mix, and one that I have not seen anyone else do this jam, so kudos for that. I had the issue with the sound and some other small issues, but that's to be expected in a Jam game.

Some things that I would wish for: - Ability to jump - Visual feedback from hits (flashing red or something) - Maybe some kind of combo meter, like how many hits you have gotten in without taking damage yourself.

Well done though!

City Blocks by legavroche 2018-04-26T15:05:48Z

Oh no, multitasking  ... haha. Great entry, even though I was terribad I enjoyed it a lot. Fits the theme like a glove!

Dungeon Slider by justinooncx 2018-04-26T14:46:44Z

Even tho I am terrible at these kind of puzzle games, I found it a lot of fun. After a bit of struggling I managed to figure out how to play. I could see this being very popular on the mobile market, maybe develop it further :)

Gravity Chess by CaptainPilot 2018-04-25T22:24:26Z

I need you to make this into an app yesterday! I want to play this on the bus as I commute. Fantastic entry, and amazing level/puzzle design.

Rapid Fire by Anubhav Kashyap 2018-04-26T14:32:45Z

Visually nice and coherent, but the ground should be flat (at least the hitbox). Adding a doublejump or slightly increasing the height amount would make the game a lot more smooth. I am very impressed though that you managed to make such a nice game considering your age and the fact that your first day got destroyed. Great job! :)

Cardcade by Simon Rahnasto 2018-05-14T10:41:05Z

@Anubhav-Kashyap You need to use Löve 0.10.2 Let me know if it still doesnt work then.

Cardcade by Simon Rahnasto 2018-05-14T11:15:02Z

@anubhav-kashyap Yes then you have downloaded the Windows version. You had to download the multiplatform version, but to make it more simple for you I made a Mac port. On itch make sure you download "Cardcade (OSX)" for Mac.

Cardcade by Simon Rahnasto 2018-05-15T10:16:06Z

@joe40001 Thank you for playing. The Löve framework only needs to be installed if you want to run the multi-platform version on Linux or something similar. The .exe (Windows) and .app (Mac) works straight out of the box.

TIMBER by ponker 2018-04-25T20:33:42Z

Really enjoyed this entry a ton! Tower defense games are one of my favorite type of games. I loved the chill gameplay, it was so relaxing and enjoyable. The art is coherent and very cozy and the music just hits the right notes to make this a superb feelgood game.

Great job!

Relation Ship by lcrabbit 2018-04-24T18:58:46Z

I really like the background paralleling and "wobbly effect" on the background, makes it feel very much alive. Overall the game looks and sounds really good.

Great entry! :)

Scarry by Memel06 2018-04-26T15:22:11Z

This is one of my absolute favorite games in this Ludum Dare. The voice control is sooooo innovative and fits the game perfectly. I have seen voice controls in other games, but they have only made the game worse. Here they actually make the game better. It was a blast to play, and I actually managed to win.

Great job!

Super Slime Slasher Ultra by sebastianscaini 2018-05-09T14:30:56Z

Impressive visuals, it feels very coherent and suites the "cute-style" of the game. Always a big plus with voice acting as well, one of the best games when it comes to the over all audio.

Feels very complete, nice main menu and a lot of polish.

Arbour by literallyjosh 2018-04-24T18:45:37Z

**SPOILERS**

This is a fantastic entry. Where do I even begin? You manage to tell a story without using a wall of text. From the very beginning you are filled with a creeping feeling of hopelessness. But you carry on, until the very end. You gave just enough information for the player to keep wanting more, and piecing together bits to try to figure out what's going on. And you could not have done the ending better, after you die and the game closes, you are left there with a feeling of emptiness.

I genuinely enjoyed every moment of it. Great job!

Beat Boxer by jaredmercer 2018-04-25T22:06:48Z

Amazing job, specially considering how long you have been making games. You used the theme in a very cleaver way, props to the artist who made such nice graphics and good job on making everything feel so alive (like the crowd for an example).

Overall a superb entry!

12Slash by Nikaoto 2018-04-25T09:45:00Z

This entry has a lot of awesome stuff going for it! First of all it follows the theme very well and has an interesting idea that in turn is executed very well. The audio is very good and together with some nice visuals they give a satisfying feel to the gameplay. But most importantly it is fun, it is fun to run around slashing the enemies to death, I feel like samurai jack, and that is great!

Great entry, well done! :first_place:

Fallen Leaves by LemonBalmGames 2018-04-25T21:40:05Z

I enjoyed the atmosphere a lot, there was a nice eerie mood and the audio was perfect. My favorite part was the platforming, it was really solid and I would love to see that incorporated into a different game, like a parkour game.I appreciate that I didn't really have to solve the riddles as I am terribad at it.

Overall great entry!

Dog Petter by Raphiell 2018-04-27T01:28:06Z

If there was an “adorable” category, you would win it :)

Cool idea that fits the theme perfectly and is for sure an unusual mix. I love animals but suffer from sever allergies, so I appriciated this extra much! If built upon further I could see this becomming a great game for mobiles.

Rock The Road by Bintex 2018-04-25T20:59:20Z

Amazing entry for the first time! You nailed the theme and came up with a very innovative game that was really enjoyable to play. I love tower defense games and found it really cool to test this strange spin on the very classic genre. Well done! :)
