Damn! Huge scope for a jam game. Looks like you pulled it off. I had fun assembling my rag-tag team. John Jackson quickly emerged as my most dependable warrior. He would eventually be taken down by the King's Men. It will not have been in vain...
A lot of fun, good job.

Such a wonderful little game! The only thing that have been bothering me is the inability to select more than one comrade when fighting, that would have made it easier to position ranged and melee. Still, everything else is well made, fun and beautiful! Amazing job!

Graphics are very smooth and enjoyable. Game mechanics and gathering systems also enjoyable to play. You may wanna add some fight scenes where you force player to hide or do certain action, this will both teach player how to play and may increase intensity. Also does this graphical system called voxel or isometric? I am bad at differentiating them.

Really great game for the time you had to do it. Sadly i didn't manage to win the war.

Great work! Lovely little pixel fights, and remarkable scope indeed for a jam game. The factories, towns and farms don't seem to regenerate? So once you've gotten all you can out of them, you're pretty much stuck with what you have (including unarmed volunteers!). Difficult to imagine how to actually pull it off and win in the end, but hey, it was fun trying!

This was fantastic! I had a ton of fun with this one, the fights were satisfying, there was a decent amount of depth to the combat, and it was really enjoyable to take on larger enemy forces. Great job!
Pleased with this one. Great concept, matching execution, and the whole thing is challenging enough. Looks good as well.
More detailed thoughts about the game.
- Was a bit thrown off by the fact that in order to name the group you can't just input the name and move on: need to press "Enter" to actually finish inputting the name. - Hotkeys would be of great help in battle, something like 1..6 to quickly select your fighters. As things are, I think positioning is quite a bit harder than it needs to be. - I think it's great that the group's founder, the character you started with, isn't protected by any plot armour whatsoever and can easily perish on the battlefield. - Unless the intention is for the player to learn this over time, I'd consider adding a way to appraise the difficulty of combat encounters. - Icons for weapons are perfectly legible, and yet, I doubt that tooltips with descriptions would be amiss. - On a somewhat related note, it'd be nice if visited settlements somehow differed from those that haven't been entered yet.
**Great pice of game!** challenging but really interesting. all around a pleasing experience, audio, graphics, and game play all fits nice together would really like to see it polished and expanded, Keep at it! :D
only hiccup i had was that the mouse locked in the center off screen when i tried to fullscreen
Really nice game! I like the idea, its nice the way you go recruiting your crew and then fighting around. I miss some more kind of "Random events", instead of just asking for men or weapon, maybe some type of events like "The farm is being rided, are you willing to help? And if you accept maybe you lose someone but get weapons, or you dont accept and get some other thing... something like this. But the concept is great, and I like that you take part on the fight and control your band! Nice one!!
Great idea and well executed for the time you had! Fun to play and graphics are great.
I selected the soviets, put the soviet theme on in the background and I think it stands to the game's credit that the immersion was unmatched. It also reveals what I would try to add in an update: music.
I thought the mechanics were conceptually interesting and I loved the fact that your recruits have names; it makes it feel more personal. Fantastic work <3
@mattdotam Thanks! Really appreciate it!
@andrea Great idea! Had no time to implement it, but will certainly add it!
@despdair More events and different kinds of battles were planned, but sadly cut due to time. Will of course add it later! I always call it Isometric Pixel Art, but I am not sure if everyone would agree ;) Thanks for playing! @zhorky Maybe next war you will be more lucky ;)
@wolfrug They actually do regenerate, kinda. Every time you defeat a group a random place you visited will be regenerated, but this is mentioned nowhere and would require you to keep moving to towns to check which one was regenerated. Regenerating places was a tricky thing, since doing it too much would make the game too easy, while having too little makes victory impossible. I still have no idea what the meta of this game is or whether you can beat it with the resources given, but it's fun to try nonetheless!
@dxk2294 Mowing down groups of unsuspecting looters with machine guns never gets old! Thanks for playing!
@james-vagabond Thanks for your feedback, you have some amazing suggestions! The name input fields are a pain and I should have fixed them, but I forgot since I just skipped using them during testing. Hotkeys would be great, but I think I would also need to make combat a little slower, so that you have time to set up your fighters correctly. About dificulty; I actually planned on adding weapon grades and showing those to the player when selecting an enemy group, but since weapons are randomly assigned to enemies, the only information about difficulty I could give is the amount of fighters a group has. Tooltips are coming and towns will certainly be expanded to have more things to do there, great suggestion!
@kekkodude Thanks a lot, appreciate it! Weird that the mouse got stuck, need to take another look at that.
@lonewolfdev Great idea! Originally that was what these places were supposed to be, but I had no time to properly implement them. Thanks for your feedback though, will certainly use it!
@mikethehuman Great to hear you liked it, cheers!
@langotriel Wanted to add music for each flag you pick, but that was too ambitious I'm afraid ;) Next time, pick the black flag with skull and play this: [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zorRzhEoNG0).

haha I like the idea and it was funny to play

My men fought well and hard, but in the end they fell. I really liked this entry, at first I feared that it was just a numbers game. But in the end I had like 3 men left (2 with guns and 1 with nothing) and I managed to win a battle vs like 7-8 heavily armed guys. Shows that the game is a lot more deep than at first meets the eye.
The visuals are very nice and fit well together, and everything ties in nicely to the theme. Great job
@simon-rahnasto When I was testing my game I was worried that winning battles would be little more than having more fighters combined with some luck, but somewhere during testing a single dude with a knife mananged to quickly charge three enemies with rifles and stabbed them to death. From that point on I knew that the combination of firearms (safe, but slow) and melee weapons (risky, but deadly) allowed for many different fun tactics that each have varying degrees of succes. Happy you liked it and may your fallen fighters rest in power ;)
Great job for a strategy game in a very short time. the group is difficult to control during the fight. But it makes you want to continue to try hard. Good Job!
combat simulation was fun

Very nice! There was an impressive amount of content in this game for a game jam, which was really cool to see. Well done!

Well done, that was ambitious. I think the fighting could have used a pause button similar to something like FTL so you can calmly prioritize and give orders.
Great job. The game is very polished and the combat is really fun to play.
The game is really well done and I appreciate the consistent art style. @james-vagabond covered the majority of my thoughts on where the game was lacking. I would be interested in playing a full release of this game if you happened to have a fleshed out storyline in mind.
I recommend you to add a description for every weapon. it would cover such topics like distance,damage,...
It's so cool. I love it. But in the end not enough weapons.
Good job, it's fun
Took a few tries to beat my first battle. Whenever I battled, I would have so few people I was sure to die on the second one. Other than that it's a great game, with good graphics and battle mechanics.

I recognized the art style and general theme-ing and realized I played Iron Syndicate last time! Again, it looks really nice. Also like last time, I'm also impressed on the amount that was finished in the 72 hours this time, as you were able to get three game loops all finished.
@technsmile Better controls (and pausing) will be worked on!
@enver-arco Thanks for playing!
@emmatw Thank you a lot, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
@gibss Working on a pause system right now, great idea! Thanks for the feedback!
@nunoribeiro Thank you! Will try to make it even better!
@rainetheglutton Would be really cool, will see what I can do!
@nikita-demidov Did not have time to add that during the jam, but will do in a full release!
@denissobolev Thanks for playing, will add more weapons for you in the full release ;)
@romibarbosa Thank you for playing!
@gullyngames Yeah, in the beginning I always look out for smaller groups, the big ones are way too challenging. Will take your feedback into account and see if I can do to balance things better.
@taqoshaq So cool that you remembered! I had actually planned these combat mechanics for Iron Syndicate, but that ended up as a story game, so I thought: "Bring over a few assets this time and actually fight the battle yourself". It was a lot of work to get all the components of the game done in time, but I am happy that I was that ambitious now that it's finished! Thanks a lot for playing and I'll see you next LD!
Well done guys ! It was really fun to play your game !

Really fun game, guys ! I love the mechanics and the battles are really cool ! Amazing ! Congrats !
Great game, you accomplished quite a lot in so little time, congrats! :)
Great game. I loved playing this. My only suggestions have already been mentioned: * Improve the group name and character name fields * Maybe add some tooltips and stats on the different weapons
Good game, creating a game with two differents gameplay in a game jam is ambitious but you nailed it. Graphics are cool, I found a bit difficult to move around while fighting though
Really good graphics! I see a lot of potential but in its current state, either I'm very bad at this game (very plausible) or the combat system isn't very tactical at all, everything goes very fast, there's no way to micro or macro manage anything, I tend to just put two comrades behind crates and then kind of cross my fingers, am I missing something? I love turn-based tactical games and so I wished your game were turn-based I guess.

Great idea, very nice graphics, and an unusual setting that I quite liked. I fought dozens of battles through several playthroughs but never managed to win the game. I was a bit lost during battles and sometimes waited for things to happen out of luck. I also realised I was extremely lucky in my first game because the map had twice as many buildings as I got afterwards during my other games.
I believe there could be a bit more feedback here and there: highlight the destination tile in combat, but also indicate which buildings were already visited (unless there is such feedback and I didn’t notice it?).

Nice game ! I find it a bit repetitive after a few battle since i was able to plan much strategy. I wasn't sure if cover was any good and differences between weapons wasn't very clear (except the difference between melee and range. Too bad you weren't able to add music but the sounds effects fit well. Maybe some kind of tactical pause could make combats a little bit more controllable. Anyway, good job !
Excellent little strategy - tactics game! Excellent pixelart graphics!! The setting was as other commenters pointed quite unusual which was refreshing! The only thing that could certainly be improved is the combat. Both keyboard shortcuts for the player's units and a way to pause the combat (realtime with pause kind like some famous rpg ) are very much needed since as it is now the combat it more chaotic that strategic  Still a very nice entry!
