Really clever level design and an amazing take on a classic game. Everything feels solid and seems to make sense, great entry!

Really clever level design and an amazing take on a classic game. Everything feels solid and seems to make sense, great entry!
I quickly started copying my cats behaviour whenever there are people in the house, great idea to use for this theme!
My daily existence is not your Ludum Dare game! It is very fun though and the graphics are lovely, well done! Greetings from Holland!
This game is very impressive, great controls and everything just feels polished! Congrats on your result!
Nice graphics, but I am not sure what the water does to my production. I do think this is a really good base for a fun building game though. For a game jam, this is really cool!
Beautiful graphics and great use of the theme. Was fun trying to figure out how to play, great job!
The controls are really solid and movement feels smooth. Perhaps add a score to keep track of how many enemies you have killed, other than that, well done!
"This is just like Dark Souls" Really fun game that requires a lot of puzzling and skilful platforming! This already feels like a full release, congratulations!
Very polished and a lot of fun to play. Graphics look great and the controls feel smooth, well done!
Fun, realistic, polished and very impressive that you go so much work done in such a small time. Loved playing this, very well done!
I love the idea and the execution is better than I thought it could be. I did accidentally drag a cable off the screen, but that didn't stop me too much. The retro feel is lovely and I had a lot of fun, thank you for making this!
Fell in love with this, the graphics and aesthetics are lovely! You should totally make a full game out of this, congrats!
Impressive to see how many things you guys managed to add to this game! The graphics are great, gameplay is solid and overall it is just a lot of fun! Great job!
Fun to play around with, well done!
Not bad at all... for a 14 year old! Kidding of course, was fun to play and looks good, well done!
You learn how to play pretty quickly and I spent more time playing than I had planned for. Graphics fit well and the theme is applied nicely, great job!
I would also say that this game feels very polished. Movement is smooth, level design is smart and graphics just work really well for this game. Great job!
The game felt really balanced to me and the controls were easy to use. Very well executed, hope you expand on this idea!
Lovely graphics, great use of the theme and an impressive amount of content! Loved the dialogue as well! This felt like a full game to me, very well done!
Amazing graphics and chill aesthetics. Gameplay is solid and the theme is well implemented as well. One last tip is to not show the dialogue after the first time, this lets people back into the action quicker. Maybe just me, but I wanted to get back in and try again quickly each time! Congrats on the result!
The levels are hard, but I don't feel like that is a bad thing. For the second level for example I used bullets to create walls to lock in the enemies so I could grab teleport core, since killing the enemies was too hard for me. I would love some more levels to ease me into the concepts, but that is something you should totally add in a post Ludum Dare version! Either way, had a lot of fun and overall a very nice result!
(Tip: flip the x-scale of the gun from 1 to -1 when aiming to the left to prevent the gun from looking upside down.)
The art is beautiful, the physics seems very smooth and the gameplay is fun, great job!
This is one of the more unique approaches to this theme I have found so far. It has humour, amazing graphics and feel and is easy to play. Congrats on your result!
Nice graphics and easy to understand game. Sadly, I did not manage to defend my memory for long ;)
Too much stress and almost missed out on all of the humorous windows, but still a great game, great job!
Very nice atmosphere, really enjoyed it. You are kinda thrown into it, so a tutorial would be nice! Great job though!
Great humor, had fun playing it!
Very good music, opening screen and graphics, but the gameplay is very basic and has little to nothing to do with the theme. Still had fun, so well done!
This is an amazingly solid entry, had a lot of fun trying to figure out which buildings would fit. The game was not hard to get into and I learned as I played, tutorial could still be nice, but of course you can't do everything in a weekend. Thank you for making and congratulations!
Had a lot of fun running up and down burning bodies. I did run out of space, so I guess the theme was applied well. Well done!
Easy to get into, good graphics and fun gameplay. Well done and congratulations!
If you change the way you control citizens (Like using the arrow keys) it would be a little easier to control. Other than that, great aesthetics and fun concept. Nicely done!
Very cool idea, the flooding is a very nice implementation of the theme. The graphics are also pleasing, so overall, great job!

Thank you all for your feedback! I took all of it into account while working on an improved version and I hope you guys want to try it again to see if it is any better! @langotriel approached me and helped to add sound, which makes the game a lot more playable.
The following features were added for the full version: - Added way more sound - Ability to skip waiting on timer - Modified Solar panels to be more useful - Made GUI more clear - Fixed minor bugs
This might not be the last version and I will look into expending this into a full game later, but for now I wanted to provide an improved version of this jam game. Hope you enjoy playing it as much as I did making it!

If anyone notices anything that doesn't look right, feel free to contact me!
Nice graphics, lot of content and nicely polished! Well done!
Perhaps not make a game out of tragedies, change it to something like zombies, since even though the game was not bad, I did feel very uncomfortable shooting into a crows of people. Maybe just me though...
Very solid controls and fun to play! Congrats!
Good entry, although I did not run out of space, I did have a great time!
Fun concept with solid execution, perhaps a few improvements on controls, but that is just a personal preference. Good job!
Fast and fun gameplay with the theme implemented really clearly, great entry and I will certainly try to get my high score up just a little bit more!
This made me value my inventory a lot more while playing RPG games, thank you for sharing this message. Other than that, it's amazing to me that you got done so much in such a short time. Well done!
It was a little unclear to me what I had to do and the game might be a bit hard, but I do really like the graphics and the controls are solid. I hope you make a post LD version, since this looks really promising!
You got a lot of things right, perhaps make this into a full game? A tutorial would be a huge help ;)
Very good use of theme, easy to play and had some good fun, well done!
The art style is amazing and the overall feel is great! Good job!
Had fun with this one, the fact that you only need a mouse to control it makes everything feel much smoother and less tedious. Graphics and humor are also great! Overall, well done!
Great humor and beautiful graphics, didn't get too far, but that is probably my fault ;)
Nice little puzzle game, had a lot of fun with it!
Amazing atmosphere and beautiful graphics, liked the mechanics a lot. Felt really smart when I finally figured out what I had to do in a level. Hope you take your time to expand this game!
The graphics are amazing and the executing of your concept is solid! The pace was a bit slow to my liking and I died a few times without knowing why, other than that, great job!
Amazing concept with a solid execution, amazing how you could get all this work done in such a short amount of time. I hope you expand on this game later so that I can kill some more people ;)
I could play this game forever and I almost did! Amazing job on the controls and the graphics make me happy. Good job!
Seeing the GameMaker 8 loading bar at the beginning already made me love it, but the game itself make it even better. You added a lot of content in such a small time and it's worth it, well done!
Easy to learn and a lot of fun to play, congratulations on your game!
Great implementation of scarcity. The way the theme is used is super clear, but yet I would have not come up with it. Graphics and controls are solid, so great job!
Very good implementation of the theme, well done!
Took me a turn to get used to, but had quite some fun when I figured it out. Perhaps give like a few steps each time you combine a block? Maybe I am just not too good yet, either way, great job!
Amazing animation, even more impressive considering it only took you a weekend. Great job!
First match I got completely overwhelmed, but the second time I nicely used my folders and eventually I managed to get more space available than the size of the harddrive (-60mb/500mb). I did really have fun though, with a few minor changes this could be very entertaining! Very well done!
When the music started playing, a smile started growing on my face while I slowly moved toward certain doom. The game-over screen made me laugh, so it certainly does have humor. Really fun concept and you managed to pull it off really well, congrats on your game!
Nice consistent style of graphics, love the mood the music adds to it. Controls are intuitive or shown with button prompts, so that works well too. Dialogue could be expanded, but I understand that making a branching dialogue tree takes a lot of time as well. Everything just seems to work really well, the polish just gets you immersed in the game. This concept does fit the theme and I like the self-awareness in the opening dialogue ("I might just have to sacrifice myself..."). Overall a great experience, well done!
Like the graphics, game is explained well in the beginning and game play works as you would expect from a tower defence game. I feel like the sacrifice mechanic at this moment is not really a sacrifice to the player, since I see no other use for these fleshy humans to stay alive. Other than that, good polish, well done!
This game is fun to play, controls are explained during gameplay (which is great when possible), but still a bit of a challenge. Graphics are functional and fit the general mood. The variety of things you have to do steadily increases and when I finally got a game over screen I really appreciated the extra hint you get to improve on your next time. Overall very solid, well done!
This is a very solid game. The graphics are great and the concept fits the theme perfectly. Overall a very fun and polished stealth puzzle.
It is quite a lot of work to play this game, since you have to do the same part of a mission over and over to make sure all aliens make it to the other side. Perhaps with more time spent on level design, this game could be a lot more fun. I think it's a cool concept and the graphics are good, I just did not play much of the game, since a level takes quite a lot of time.
Very cool idea for the theme, solid execution, feels very polished. If you would extend the game with a few more mechanics and more levels I would love to play it some more!
Love the graphics and the concept is messed up, yet very fun. The polishing on this is amazing, well done!
Very cool concept for the theme. Since I think this concept is really good and had fun playing it, I only have points of improvement that are based on my personal preference. One thing I would like is some feedback whether I am actually hovering over an enemy, so that I am sure my attack will succeed. A little larger hitbox would also be welcome, but maybe you think the game is too easy that way. Also an GUI element showing what my current chain is and how long it is bellow the score would make it easier to keep track of my chain. Without those things this is already a very good Jam game with good polish, so I would like to see an even better version in the future!
I figured the game out after a few tries and played it for much longer than I had planned for. Very well balanced mechanics that forces you to sacrifice a few heroes for souls. Well done!
I played this game a lot more than I had planned for, it is simply addicting in a way. Everything just nicely fits with each other. The sound as you turn the dials, the fuzzy analog signal that gets stronger or weaker as you move the the buttons. The sound of radio chatter that slowly fades as you dialling in. You guys managed to make something that I would pay to play. Very well done!
Love how messed up you managed to make this. The world on wheels being sustained by sacrifices is a great idea. Good graphics and fun game play idea for this theme, well done!
Had some trouble with the controls at first, but quickly was able to play the game after that. Interesting mechanics that work well with the theme, good job!
Great amount of work in such a short amount of time. Lot of depth in both mechanics and the story. The polish is also nice with only a small mistake every now and then. Well done!
Really solid game. I find it amazing how every time you delete something the dialogue specifically mentions it. You can really feel the impact you are having in this world and that makes the sacrifice an actual sacrifice for you as a player. Great job guys!
It's hard, but also fair at the same time. With great timing you can play this game really well, sadly I don't seem to have that. Graphics and general atmosphere is soothing, while the actual game can be quite busy. Instead of making a game about sacrifice, you let the mechanics do the talking, which is a really nice change as well. Nice polish in general, so really well done!
Reminds me of the tank game on the Wii! Graphics give off a really nice atmosphere and controls are smooth as butter. Really well done, nicely worked in the theme as well!
Very good story with interesting game play, well done!
Nice Sinterklaas experience in a way. Sound design is really well done and really gives this game a great atmosphere. Controls were a bit hard, but at least there is plenty of ways to figure those out. So all in all, good work!
This is a nice representation of the current flower industry. Controls are smooth, mood is consistent. I like how you place the first movable crate in a place where the player has to push it. This way the player learns as he plays what the mechanics are and prevents long tutorials, was quite amazed to see that in a jam game. Other than that, good platformer with the theme nicely implemented!
Reminds me a lot of Kingdom, which I really liked myself. Graphics are really good and I quickly understood how to play the game. A bit of feedback: I actually fell off the map and my character did not have a walking animation. I am sure you guys can expand on this game more and make it a full game!
Finding out how to play with each weapon was a lot of fun, very creative game. Well done!
This is Kingdom with guns. Really like the art style, everything is consistent and I can really appreciate that. The theme is not just slapped on there for the sake of having to be there. It actually makes sense if you want people to be able to shoot without worrying about ammo, but still having some downside to constantly firing. Controls are hard, but I would not want it any other way. Nice work guys, hope to see much more of you in the future!
@adrien-dittrick Thanks for the notice, it should work now!
@mza Thank you for your feedback and you can reload with R.
@rongo-matane Thanks for the feedback! There was no time left to balance any of the weapons, so you are very right on that. I myself noticed the dialogue system not scaling too, but there was barely any time to fix it and I knew all pixels would still be drawn, so you could still read it if you hugged the screen. Thank you for the kind words and again, your feedback is very welcome and helpful to me!
@jeffrey-newton-evans I am sorry I did not get back to you earlier, but I wil reply on here so that perhaps others can read it. About the picture, originally the intention was to make a portrait of the player and his wife. She is not there however, very strange indeed. There is no definitive answer to what the dark figure might really refer to, but the name of the final boss in reverse might give you another clue. I won't make you play through the whole thing again, so his name was 'Noisulli'.
@ava-skoog Thanks for playing, since you took your time to play, you of course deserve some answers! Crouching only increases accuracy. I wanted to add functional cover, but in a 2d game like this, it's hard to set up the hitboxes in a way that makes it feel fair and natural whether a bullet passes or gets blocked.
The music was added to the all levels initially, but it felt kinda out of place with the action phases. My composer did not have much time that weekend, so could not manage to make a soundtrack for combat as well. To keep the game consistent, I either had to use the soundtrack all the time or not at al. The last option was chosen, but perhaps it was not the best decision.
The part about the wedding ring is interesting, I wanted to add a screen at the end with the names of the people you killed + the things you lost (like the ring) to show the player what they had sacrificed. However, time was running out and the game itself needed to be finished first. I think this is an essential element that I should have spent more time on, since now it leaves players confused. There is however another way to look at, does the ring really matter if you never even had a wife?
Final screen always leads to inside the house, if there was an arrow leading to the right, that is a mistake and I must have missed it due to sleep deprivation. Personally I was not too happy about the final product, since mayor elements are missing. Simply did not schedule well enough, which caused me to lose a lot of time on the less important details. However, I am happy you still managed to get the vibe me and my team were going for!
@psychedelia About the final boss thing, thank you for letting me know! I rushed that part and must have missed to add a variable to prevent that. Sorry for letting you get gunned down like that! It's good to know you also felt this feeling of helplessness, I guess I conveyed my emotions during that weekend really well ;)
This has to be the best game about putting out forest fires. There is a lot of detail and a lot of different mechanics to keep in mind to play this well. The few issues in game play that I encountered only make sense for a game of this scope with the time frame it was built in. Graphics are very pretty, each unit is unique and mechanics are easy to understand after playing for just a few minutes. Well done guys, hope this is not the end for this project!
Really fun concept, but in practice still a bit hard to play. The movement feels like walking on ice, which does add a bit of challenge. The breeding mechanic is really fun though. Well done and hope you keep working on this version!
Surprised that there are not many Lemmings like game. I think the concept works really for the theme. I think the tutorial is also a really nice and helpful addition to your game. Graphics and sounds are good and make the whole experience enjoyable in general. Well done!
I at first did not understand I had to hold the mouse, but after that it was fine. It is not a very large game, but it was still good to play it. Recommended for all cat lovers.
The graphics are beautiful, the game itself is good, but I still got a lot of mistakes while I actually correctly typed the letter. Other than that, well done! Think the concept nicely fits in with the theme.
Really nice story. The controls are nice and simple and the graphics are consistent and pleasing to the eye. Well done! If you like overthrowing your old masters, I can recommend that you try my game as well ;)
Great amount of work for the short amount of time you had. The voice acting is amazing and really adds to the experience. The levels are increasingly challenging, but are not impossible (or skipable). graphics are lovely and quite detailed too. Well done to the whole team!
Not bad, everything works as intended, but it is not a large game. I would say it could have used a few more interesting mechanics, but that's something to think about next time. Hope you had fun making it!
The graphics are really fitting for this sort of game. The dialogue is fairly well written and the story is nice. Very solid and polished entry!
@trevor-shoe I wished I could have made the story longer too, was really fun to work on, but sadly didn't have the time. Great feedback, it's greatly appreciated and it will surely be used. Especially your point about the dialogue controls. I had it in mind, but had no time to implement it, but for any future projects I will. Thanks for playing!
@xahell, the furnace effect even impressed me when I got it to work. It's basically a general fire effect I had laying around, but I used a scaled surface so that everything would pixelate. The normal sprites of course don't change, since they are already pixel art, but the flames go from high res to pixel flames. Generally, working with scaled surfaces makes the game look super consistent, since everything is forced to become pixelart in a sense. Hope that helps and thanks for playing!
@cozmic Thank you very much! Wanted to add some revolutionary music, but focused on getting other stuff done. Hope I can one day add a proper soundtrack as well :)
@ashtrail Totally agree with your points, it is very welcome and constructive. I do want to add web versions, but I use GameMaker, so that would cost me some money. Will get it someday though, every Ludum Dare I see people use them more and more. A game over screen would have been helpful, will include it in my next entry for sure!
@nico-fallosch Time to rise up comrade! ;)
@fred0aberg Thank you very much, loved working on those mechanics myself, really satisfying to watch.
@mike-inprinciple The game ends after the execution, there is no more content after that, but I will try to fix whatever bugs there are. You do have a choice to not join the protest, it is however not a real fun option. Your work is not unpaid, just need to get your money from the manager when a shift ends. Also, I understand you don't like being forced into an ideology, but making a branching storyline is a bit much for a 72 hour project. Hope you at least enjoyed some bits and thanks for the feedback!
@taqoshaq Funny how you mention "Papers Please". I myself never played it, but when I explained my idea for this game to a friend, he mentioned that game too. I guess I have to play it sometimes. The factory is indeed not the most fun, but otherwise the second act would make little sense of course. Thanks for playing and really glad to hear you enjoyed it!
@jm-studio It sure took some time, but very happy it paid off in your eyes. Thank you very much for playing!
@plexsoup Thank you very much for reporting this. I could not seem to reproduce the issue, but I used some safety nets that should prevent it from happening again. If you give it another try and it crashes, then I apologize. I also would have loved to use the Social Realism artstyle, but sadly I do not have those skills. If you know anyone, let me know!
@ioleoso Thank you very much for playing. Personally also never heard of any games about that part of history, so it seemed interesting to use it. I did want more active gameplay myself, but then I could have not made an ending to the story. Next time there will be more action, promise!
@simon-rahnasto Played all your games too in fact! I am friends with Langotriel, so every Ludum Dare I look forward to a insane quality production by you guys. Happy you enjoyed it, I'm sure we'll both get to play a lot more of eachothers work!
@jjjjason This is the kind of bloody revolution you get when you only have 72 hours ;) Glad you liked it! The sounds are all taken from video's or other recordings, but I do kinda edit them so that they loop or fit the game better. Ever forward comrade!
Sadly movement is completely bugged, eventually I actually got stuck on the ground and had to restart. There is not much of a challenge apart from walking ahead, since all people you collect are on the path regardless. Good idea, but the execution could be better. Try again, but keep the graphic style, it's not bad at all!
A very challenging puzzle game. The tutorial and the different size options are a great addition. Graphics are clear and quite nice. For 72 hours this is great! If you ever want to expand the game, I would love a more user friendly tutorial with less text on the screen at the same time. Hope you had fun developing, well done!
This is game is so much fun. Was immediately hooked and kept trying and trying to get all those cats. The music fits perfect, the text is even super cool. This game just hypes me up, amazing work! Well done team!
Graphics feel satisfying to look at and the controls are super smooth. The button prompts are great (and essential) in a Ludum Dare game, since not everyone has time to learn all the different controls for all of the games, they really helped me. Game gets a little easier towards the end, but I feel adding higher tier enemies could fix that problem easily. In its current state it is already quite fun trying to reach a personal high score, so a job well done!
Nice take on the theme. Graphics are good and everything seems polished. A bit hard to play though, feels more like actual work than a game at times. Still had some fun, well done!
Looks good, fun dialogue and pretty graphics. Personally would love less walking and more of the dialogue stuff, since it got a little repetitive towards the end. Great entry!
Graphics are amazing, text is well written and gameplay is easy to get into. The balance could be improved a bit, but of course that takes time and a lot testplaying. In my first play through I tried to balance my choices and did not make it, but in my second play through I ignored all encounters and made it in one go. I still really enjoyed it and gave it several more tries to see what more the game had to offer. Amazing entry and a job well done!
It is a bit simple, but that is honestly not a problem for Ludum Dare releases. The thing I felt like I mist most is a little explanation of how the game works. Also, player feedback would be nice. This means, gunshots when I fire a weapon, buy confirmation sounds. Hit sounds when I actually hit an enemy. These are all things you could try to add when you want to continue making this game. Hope you had fun making it and best of luck on your future projects!
This game has some really great additions, such as the arrow pointing towards the last enemy and different characters that all are unique. The gameplay is fine and quite challenging, but the archers are annoying since they move just as fast away from you as you walk towards them. Other than that, graphics are nice. Well done!
The music, graphics and presentation in general all fit perfectly together and create a polished and enjoyable experience. On top of that the theme is implented well too, great work!
I did not always know what to do, but the game did make me laugh a few times and that counts for a lot. The game also looks good, certainly for the amount of time you had. Well done!
The graphical style fits the theme super well and the music helps to settle it, however there is not much to do or to explore, but I am sure that has to do with the short amount of time you had to work on it. Either way, well done!
Great concept for this theme, good scope and great executing. Everything just works well and feels polished. Amazing work!
Amazing artwork, very creative take on the theme while also being nicely polished and easy to understand. Very good work, congratulations on your great game!
The graphics are amazing. Beatiful sprites with good use of color. The voicelines also make me want to keep going to hear what will happen next. Good use of different items giving you new abilities when you need them rather then giving them from the start. Well done to the team and I hope to see you ranking high once again!
This was so much fun! The graphics are simple, yet consistent and good. The buildup over several stages feels amazing. To be able to ditch the void and solely focus on the world is great and the addition of something even greater is really cool. Cool to think Gamemaker could handel that many instances at once as well. Well done to you!
P.S. Great soundtrack! Actually left the browser window open for a bit to enjoy the epic ending music.
A fun game with a deep message that makes you think... or I am just easily entertained, either way, well done!
This is such a cool concept that was executed very well. The graphics are cute and the way that the game progresses motivated me to keep going to find more words. Well done to the team!
The graphics are amazing, really did a good job on those. I also liked how the university had a bell which students would actually respond to, makes the whole world feel alive and moving while you try to sneak around. Well done, great entry!
Nice sprites, but not always consistent in pixel ratio. Try to add a failsafe next time when someone falls out of the world to reset their position so they can retry. Good attempt, using Gamemaker by any chance?
@mattdotam Thanks! Really appreciate it!
@andrea Great idea! Had no time to implement it, but will certainly add it!
@despdair More events and different kinds of battles were planned, but sadly cut due to time. Will of course add it later! I always call it Isometric Pixel Art, but I am not sure if everyone would agree ;) Thanks for playing! @zhorky Maybe next war you will be more lucky ;)
@wolfrug They actually do regenerate, kinda. Every time you defeat a group a random place you visited will be regenerated, but this is mentioned nowhere and would require you to keep moving to towns to check which one was regenerated. Regenerating places was a tricky thing, since doing it too much would make the game too easy, while having too little makes victory impossible. I still have no idea what the meta of this game is or whether you can beat it with the resources given, but it's fun to try nonetheless!
@dxk2294 Mowing down groups of unsuspecting looters with machine guns never gets old! Thanks for playing!
@james-vagabond Thanks for your feedback, you have some amazing suggestions! The name input fields are a pain and I should have fixed them, but I forgot since I just skipped using them during testing. Hotkeys would be great, but I think I would also need to make combat a little slower, so that you have time to set up your fighters correctly. About dificulty; I actually planned on adding weapon grades and showing those to the player when selecting an enemy group, but since weapons are randomly assigned to enemies, the only information about difficulty I could give is the amount of fighters a group has. Tooltips are coming and towns will certainly be expanded to have more things to do there, great suggestion!
@kekkodude Thanks a lot, appreciate it! Weird that the mouse got stuck, need to take another look at that.
@lonewolfdev Great idea! Originally that was what these places were supposed to be, but I had no time to properly implement them. Thanks for your feedback though, will certainly use it!
@mikethehuman Great to hear you liked it, cheers!
@langotriel Wanted to add music for each flag you pick, but that was too ambitious I'm afraid ;) Next time, pick the black flag with skull and play this: [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zorRzhEoNG0).
@simon-rahnasto When I was testing my game I was worried that winning battles would be little more than having more fighters combined with some luck, but somewhere during testing a single dude with a knife mananged to quickly charge three enemies with rifles and stabbed them to death. From that point on I knew that the combination of firearms (safe, but slow) and melee weapons (risky, but deadly) allowed for many different fun tactics that each have varying degrees of succes. Happy you liked it and may your fallen fighters rest in power ;)
@technsmile Better controls (and pausing) will be worked on!
@enver-arco Thanks for playing!
@emmatw Thank you a lot, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
@gibss Working on a pause system right now, great idea! Thanks for the feedback!
@nunoribeiro Thank you! Will try to make it even better!
@rainetheglutton Would be really cool, will see what I can do!
@nikita-demidov Did not have time to add that during the jam, but will do in a full release!
@denissobolev Thanks for playing, will add more weapons for you in the full release ;)
@romibarbosa Thank you for playing!
@gullyngames Yeah, in the beginning I always look out for smaller groups, the big ones are way too challenging. Will take your feedback into account and see if I can do to balance things better.
@taqoshaq So cool that you remembered! I had actually planned these combat mechanics for Iron Syndicate, but that ended up as a story game, so I thought: "Bring over a few assets this time and actually fight the battle yourself". It was a lot of work to get all the components of the game done in time, but I am happy that I was that ambitious now that it's finished! Thanks a lot for playing and I'll see you next LD!
I love the chain reactions you can have in this game, while you only talked to a few people, your followers have already spread the good word further, very well executed idea! If you like revolutions, then perhaps you'd like my game too ;) Either way, well done!
The inverted Y-axis is probably a key thing that holds back my enjoyment for this game. Also the lack of sound (on my end at least) makes the game feel like it's not responding to my actings. Graphics are fine and idea is actually really good for this theme. Keep trying and working hard and you will get there!
The last boss battle is actually quite a lot of fun, hope you had as much fun making it as I did while playing it!
The graphics and the sound are cool. For a rock paper scissor game it is kinda fun, but trying to get a highscore with this mostly comes down to empiric chance, you are lucky that that is my thing though ;) Well done for the time!
Very nice build up to the big reveal and the graphical style in combination with the sound design really made the reveal scary. The artwork is really nice as well, great job!
I am almost overwhelmend. As a fellow Gamemaker user, these kinds of games always stun me, but they also inspire me to keep working on my own projects. The graphics are great, everything that happens in the game is actually animated *like the arm in the beginning and checking in with the checkpoints). You guys should get together immediatly to start work on a bigger prodject, I can almost garantue that it will be epic! I followed you in Itch.io, so I'll keep an eye on you ;) Great work and hope to at least see you guys next LD!
The game is well polished and easy to play. It's a fun take on the theme, that's all I can say really. Well done!
The game is beautiful in its simplicity. There is minimal feedback, yet I slowly started understanding what I had to do. Just when I fully understood the logic I thought I was going to ace this game within a minute, but right at that moment the dificulty increased and I had to think a little harder again. Great balancing and well done!
Good voiceacting, nice graphics and some lines that made me think about stuff for a bit, well done!
I see a good attempt, but it would have been better if resource gathering would have been a lot quicker. Having to press a single button 50 times in a row to build a tower is not fun gameplay. The graphics are fine and everything works as intended, so that's at least in order. So again, good attempt and keep working and trying!
Very nice easy to understand game with an interesting take on the theme. Had a good time just relaxing to the music while trying to puzzle my way to the end. Great atmosphere, well done!
Good execution of a maze game, the lights make for a nice mood and overall the game feels polished, well done!
I thought this game was a bit more cute and clumpsy, but it was basically Dark Souls, but with elephants ;) Beautiful graphics, I really adore them. The controls are also smooth and everything feels polished. It is a bit hard, which is only a problem for noobs like me, and the music is perhaps a bit too depressing. Other than that I think this is an amazing entry!
An amazing concept! I normally hate css, but this was the first time I actually had fun with it. Totally agree with your message at the end, reminded me of this quote by Kropotkin: "Idlers do not make history: they suffer it!". Well done and keep creating!
@mattdotam Certainly will, I want to keep the basic idea, but add a lot of optional stuff and content so people can explore more. Perhaps I'll even represent some different revolutionary ideologies in dialogue or information screens, maybe that will inspire someone. If not, hope they still had a good time ;)
Not bad for your first try on a 3D game. I liked the fever dream kind of vibe I got. Camera sensitivity is a little high, but cool that you added a slider. Well done!
The graphics are super nicely drawn, the game is simple to play and thus quite relaxing. I sadly had to trade away my jar of dirt, but I guess it was worth it!
The movement of the runner feels really solid and the graphical style makes the whole game looks amazing. The game was on the short side, but I can forgive that seeing that the levels that do exist are very good. Well done and I hope to see more of your work soon!
I did notice a few bugs that have already been mentioned here, so need to go over those again. The huge amount of potions did overwhelm a bit at first, but it does allow things to feel new even after playing for quite a while. The graphics are also nice and the gui is quite clear. Well done!
I like the idea of looking at your character from an outside perspective and only being able to see what is going on every now and then. The only complaint that I would have is that the house is too small and that you cannot really do anything about the enemies other than just wait. For me this caused me to have the key at a position where I could not really go. So if you want to turn this into a full thing? Make it bigger. Good idea for this theme and hope to see you again next time!
@fishbrain Whoops, I mispelled 'theme' as 'team'. Totallly get what you mean btw, it is the right scope for compo, but making all those assets would really take some time.
Made it to week 5, at that point my joy depleted. Sounds accurate, fun idea and solid execution!
It took me a bit of trial and error, but I managed to create a small island that was interesting enough for a few adventurers it seemed. Fun idea for this theme with graphics that do the job. It was a bit unclear to me what certain terrain types would do at first and there was not always time to read the text that was scrolling by, but overall it's a really nice game!
It might be a bit broken here and there, but that does not mean that I can't appreciate all the work you did. The concept is great, not just for this theme, but as a general idea. Switching between two rooms trying to manage two completely different situations is really quite unique for these restaurant games. The game is a bit hard to play because of a bunch of smaller mistakes, but there is nothing that really completely ruins it. That mean... you can still make it great! If you like the idea yourself, I would recommend working on this some more and turning it into a full game. Do take part in the next Ludum Dare, if you manage to make a game that has the right scope, I am sure it will be amazing!
Played the post jam version and I am honestly impressed how big the difference is. This version just works! Sure, there are some more areas that could be better, but overall this is very fun to play and I understand way better what I have to do, well done!
Always happy to play the games you guys manage to make. The graphics are insanely good again, it really pulls you in. Gameplay wise, there is much more replayability than a Ludum Dare game could ever need. The voice acting and audio in general is really sweet, but that is to be expected from you guys. Would love you guys to polish this gem a bit more, maybe even expand it into a full thing. Maybe? We'll see! For now, amazing job and all the best to the team!
The art is amazingly well done, really consistent and creative. The implementation of the theme is fine too. The gameplay is a little harder to like for me since I had a hard time even seeing the obstacles approach me while I was running. This could probably be fixed with a bit of balancing though. Overall, well done!
I wonder what theme you were hoping for... ;) I really love the graphics, very simple, yet super effective. Managed to finish the game on my second try, so it was not hard to learn. Selection of villagers was sometimes a bit tricky, but manageable. The random island are a very nice touch that does make a small difference every playthrough. Awesome work!
Nice idea for a game, sadly can't play with my second half due to us being quarantined, but it was fun enough with the AI. The graphics are simple, but very pleasing, so I would say perfect for a game jam like this. I was a bit confused by the control scheme, but it makes sense considering it's a splitscreen game. It did feel the bar was kinda going down regardless of how well I played the game, but I understand that balancing these things takes time. More levels would have been cool, but again, time is a precious commodity. Very good work and hope to see you next time!
Thank you all for playing!
@pfs, @notapixelstudio, @tulipekoni, @madebychaz The thing with the controls is true and I noticed even I get confused by it. It's a remnant from when I started development because I thought I would use more buttons than just 'E'.
@notapixelstudio Could be Chewbacca, but its big ears and front teeth suggest something else to me, perhaps we need more research? The tutorial is in the computer, which was a bit of a quick fix to make sure I could get it done. Some parts are rather unclear and some of the messages that are shown when something happens do not really catch people's attention or are vague. A lot more people did not understand when and why they should call security for example, so I need to make the messages a bit more clear.
@iasper The game does actually continue after you trigger it twice. You can call security to continue, but it will slowly get closer to breaking out. Would love if you give it another try, since there are some great animations for failing the game too ;)
Good graphics and a good take on the theme. A few things that could be better is where you respawn after you die, having to walk all the way back to the mission you died in without anything happening in between is not so much fun. Collision of walls and bullets was also not always behaving how I would expect them too. These are however minor things, overall it is a very solid entry!
The graphics are very unique and well done. The gameplay is a bit simple and at times I did not really understand the collision of the enemies with the bones, it felt a little unforgiving in that aspect. But regardless, happy that you took part and hope to see more of your games with this art style!
I really like the mood, but I am honestly a bit dissapointment by a lack of things happening. I like the graphics and music so much that I wanted something to happen. I kept going and going, just to find nothing, which is a shame. Hope you can make something even beter next time! See you around!
@rafa-braga Cheers! Will check your profile next time!
Really was surprised that I could go under the table, nice touch for sure! Everything works very well and it's a fun idea to try for this theme. I did feel like being hit once was basically a death sentence and that there was not much space to really prevent being hit by enemies. I am sure you can quite easily fix this with a few balancing changes. Overall, job well done!
Very fun concept with a great execution. The graphics are really sweet. Gameplay is interesting, makes sense and fits the theme well. No long tutorials required either, which is really nice. Well done, hope to see more of your work in coming LD's!
Great animations, very solid execution of an old-time classic!
This is a very neat package that just feels right. A quick introduction and then straight into the gameplay. Good graphics, well designed features. Small things like the HP bar becoming transparent when the character goes beneath it just shows that you guys polished this thing a lot. Overall just really fun and very solid. Amazing work!
I really like the unique dynamic betweeen the player and their canary. There is really this feeling of 'Got to make sure it stays alive'. Not just because that's what the game tells you to do, but because it is actually the best way to play the game. Great idea and good execution!
The game was quite clear to me, but I did not manage to get very far. A bit of polish could be nice, but overall this is a very solid entry that fits the theme and scope of this gamejam.
The game feels a bit empty, yet what is there works really well. The second playthrough I did was kinda anticlimactic, since I just cured the virus and I never even needed the ship, but I did like playing it. The graphics you do have look very good, but it would be cool to have some visuals of what the ship looks like or what the situation is down on the planet. Many options to expand, but I must say that that would be quite hard to do in a gamejam. Hope to see more of your work in the future!
Amazing that you managed to do this with python! Graphics are nice and the game feels solid. A good idea for Ludum Dare, well done!
I think that you did some really smart tricks to make the game more interesting. It is normally not required to move to protect the plant, but since you added the power ups, which are very helpul, you force the player to move as well and not just camp. I did feel like I was not really able to lose, since the points and time never really stopped going up. Good sprites too, especially fo the differnt unit types. Well done and hope to see more of your work next time!
Presentation is very nice, graphics are good too. The game was a bit easy on my first run, but I do really like the idea. The theme fits nicely as well. Overall I think this game is super solid and it would work pretty well as a fully released game if you add some more complexity to it.
Very fun idea for a a game. There is quite a lot to take in, so at first I was a bit confused, but I quickly started finding out how things worked. The amount of effort you must have taken is noticeable, since the game feels very well thought out and polished. Great concept for the theme as well, so well done!
When I started playing I was worried it was going to be quite a small game, but it turns out you really managed to make a familiar concept feel new. The graphics are very good and in combination with the sounds they give the player a good idea of how good they are doing. Perfect idea for this theme as well. Well done!
The graphics are very nice and I think the game works really with the theme. What I did miss is having influence on the environment. I was doing all these tasks, but nothing really changed. In essence I was walking around pressing buttons without a clear idea of what I was doing. While this game is good, I think that this added interaction would make it actually great. Hope to see more of your work in the next Ludum Dare!
A very polished and smooth game with a very clear implementation of the theme. The graphics are quite good and with very minimal information I am ready to play it. The the controls work as you expect them too, so no frustration or anything while playing. I would say that you did a very good job!
I think all the hard work has paid off! A very enjoyable experience with great graphics as usual. The theme is clearly implemented and the voice actors lift the game to a highter level as always. Great work and best of luck during this jam!
The artstyle is great, I'm a big fan. The world might be a bit empty, but it helps to fuel a sense of loneliness and dread. Nice game for a jam with good use of the theme!
The amount of content is very impressive and the graphics look amazing! The gameplay itself is very solid with only a few hickups every now and then. Personally I like the gameplay so much that I did not really like the 60 second life thing, but I understand that you had to implement the theme somehow. Another thing that stands out are the sounds that notify me of my actions, which is great. I missed a sound when I wanted to save my body, so I kinda didn't understand it at first. I would also make respawns instant or perform them automatically after a few seconds. I don't mention these things because I like to nitpick, but because I honestly think you have diamand in your hand that you just need to polish a bit more. Well done and best of luck in this jam!
A really fun game that seems to really be its own thing. I really like the insane camera, although it was a bit hard to play at times. Regardless, great job and best of luck!
Really liked this game a lot. Such a fun wholesome concept that perfectly incorperates the theme into your game. The audio was enjoyable too and gave the game a sweet personal touch. Very well done, hope to see more of your work!
Beautiful game, you guys really outdid yourself this jam. The game feels smooth and polished, sounds great and has a clear implementaion of the theme. Best of luck, I'm sure you won't need it though!
The game reminds me very much of Nevermind, which is also a game where a psychologist has to travel inside someone elses mind to discover what is wrong with a patient. Very interesting and unique take on the theme. I do think the controls need some extra work, since it was rather hard to perform some of the moves reliably. I hope to see more of your work in the future, best of luck!
This is a very fun game to just try over and over again. Like my tetris addiction, I kept trying to get further over and over. I don't know how I could improve it myself, but if you still have ideas to make it better, I would love to see you do it! Very good entry, well done!
This is a very unique take on the theme and one that I think is very well implemented. As a teaching assistant in web development courses I very often have to poke for insecure paths while checking student assignments. This is often quite fun and makes you feel like somewhat of a hacker. Turning it into an actual game is a great idea and I really liked it. Very well done!
This game felt very good to play. Punches and throwing objects was very satisfying both due to the sound and the effect they had visually. Very well thought out gameloop that stays intersting throughout the several runs I played. If you ever want to make a great game, use the combat system from this one, since I really enjoyed it!
I liked the graphics and the general concept is quite funny, but I got stuck on the second day since I did not want to do anything wrong just yet, but I think it caused me to exhaust all my options and be forced to fail, but perhaps I missed something. Overall, really fun idea, well done!
This game really manages to unsettle me by the creepy figures walking towards me in the dark. You feel a certain urge to smash the ground with your hammer to get away from then. It also has a clear and unique implementation of the theme, so it's a great game for this jam.
Love the pixel art and the story was clear. Would love to see a checkpoint system added so that I could try again more quickly once I fail. Best of luck with the game if you are going to work more on it!
This is quite a consistent game that is really easy to play. If you want to continue building unto this sweet old school vibe I would personally get rid of mouse controls and I would make moving between rooms automatic. Using button prompts would also help. The tutorial area is smart though and very clear, just like having the first room be a room to learn the mechanic of opening the door. Hope you get to work more on it, best of luck!
The game feels really polished and I could play it pretty much right away without any tutorials. The gameplay also nicely incorporates the theme and is quite fun. The drag select does not seem to work when not dragging from left top to right bottom. From my experience with making RTS games in GameMaker that is probably due to using point_in_rectangle(), which does not work if the coordinates of the rectangle are inverted. After all that you thought me, I hope this helps you ;). Great work!
Really interesting concept and proper execution. Could use some more explanation, but it easy enough to figure it out yourself. Well done!
A really fun idea! It feels unfinished, but I still enjoyed myself. Well done!
Really fun idea, good aesthetics and feels very smooth. Needs some balancing, but that should not be too hard. Well done!
A very cool and very well polished entry. The graphics look great and are very consistent and I found the gameplay straightforward and very enjoyable. The theme is incorporated well too and there's is plenty of content. Well done!
An interesting entry that managed to add a lot of different mechanics in such a short time. Some polish is still necessary since my character glitched outside the boat after being attacked. Decent entry and I hope to see more of your work in the future!
The game has a nice balance between the humorous elements and the serious story that it wants to tell. The graphics look really good and the concept fits perfectly with the theme. The little hints about the patients personal lives really keep you thinking about who to save. Well done!
This is a super cool experiment that fits the theme and is perfect for an event like Ludum Dare. It was really fun reading all the different approaches people took. Well done!
I really like pinball and I am glad to say that I also enjoyed your version of it. The design of the 'field' is really interesting and trying to get the ball to the higher level is an enjoyable challenge. Well done!
Did not take me long at all to understand what I had to do. Interesting short game that implements the theme quite well. Good entry!
Took me a long time to figure it out but I wanted to figure it out, which is a really good sign. It is an interesting way to add another layer to Tetris which I really appreciate, well done!
Took me a few tries but I made it in the end! Funy entry, well done!
Fun use of several types of AI. Had fun looking at all the strange monsters you generated and was surprised at how much I could guess from the portraits alone. Good entry!
The artwork is amazing and the audio is really well done! The piano playing with the wind and thunder is a really nice touch that really made it feel quite relaxing even though some of the platforming was quite challenging. Never really got stuck though and before I knew it I had reached the end. Amazing entry, well done!
A very soothing game with pretty pictures. I normally do not play these types of games, so it was fun to have a try with this one, well done!
I really got kinda addicted to it and ended up playing it for way longer than I planned. The graphics are great and the mechanics are quite easy to learn, well done!
Love the graphics and it's great how easy it was to understand what to do. The insects were a bit annoying to deal with but I imagine that is the reason they are there. A good entry!
@fizzbark Thanks for your comment! There were no features cut necessarily but there was no time left to playtest it to find out whether the current ruleset makes sense. The cards you get are now completely random for example and we wanted to add a system that guarantees that you get each card at least once every three turns or so. I also wished I had more time to polish the AI and see it perform over a longer span of time. The crash on harvesting is also probably a result of not being able to play it enough to see this happening. We hope to fix it in the future!
@detectivelosos (and @reikan if you want spoilers) Thanks for your kind comments! The AI basically only looks at the current situation and plays from there without looking turns ahead. I then programmed it in a way that I would play the game. It basically goes down a list of actions and tries to find the most appropriate move. 1. place grass in positions that are not owned and will not be owned next turn. 2. scan for dangerous weeds that are close to high value plants and neutralize them with rocks or other weeds. 3. Place plants that are worth points, except flowers, when lacking behind in points. 4. Attack the enemy player by placing weeds or flowers if available. 5. Place plants that are worth points if nothing else can be done. 6. Try to harvest if possible
If there is no action that can be performed from this list, then the AI will just give up. This might feel a bit strange to the player but I had basically no time to add other possible moves.
The last bit that is interesting to mention is that it decides where to place weeds, flowers and reseeds based on the value of the plants in their sphere of effect. Weeds for example prefer being placed close to plants that are worth a lot of points, with flowers that are still developing being the highest priority target. Flowers and reseeds just want to steal as much land from their opponent as possible with as many plants that give points as possible.
I personally really like talking about the AI cause I like playing against it myself too. If you have any more questions, you can DM me on twitter ([@Hare_Software](https://twitter.com/Hare_Software)) and I will gladly explain.
The graphics are really nice and the concept is totally in my lane. Great idea to do for this theme with some very interesting mechanics. Well done!
Really love the concept and I think the execution is also done really well, especially considering you probably made a lot of things from scratch. It's really interesting to see how the few building blocks available can be combined into a more complex structure. Great job!
Fun idea with a lot of mechanics to learn and master. The enemies are a bit much at time but it is nice that they give you some resources when you beat them. Well done!
Was very easy to get in to and I was surprised by there actually being an actual boss battle in the end. Well done!
Great consistent graphics and very clear gameplay without giving too much information at the start. It was a fun experience, especially for a jam. Well done!
Very fun concept that is executed very well. Easy to understand and it also has quite some depth to it. A really good entry, well done!
I like the nice clean and clear graphical style and the interesting spin on the theme the game has, well done!
The graphics are great and the mechanics are very unique, at least to me! A very polished and interesting entry, well done!
Very nice atmospheric game with great voice acting and an intriguing story, well done!
Fun little entry, enjoyed trying to get all endings! Well done!
I think this is basically as perfect as an entry can be. I really like the attention to detail such as the rattling of the chain and the jump you do when you die. I had a hard time but I kept trying because I knew the game was being fair. Great achievement, well done!
The graphics look really nice and you got a solid base for a good boss-fighting game here. I agree with some of the feedback already provided but also believe that you are more than able to fix that. Good attention to detail on the loading bar progress in the end ;)
Love the style of pixel art, good concept for the theme and the execution is solid considering what type of simulation you made. Really appreciate the minimal UI by putting it all on the rocket!
The game looks really really good and the concept is interesting and fits the theme.
Graphics look nice and indicate well what everything is supposed to do. The puzzles are solid and there is some challenge to them, so a very good first LD game!
I really love the controls and the sense of speed when it goes full speed. The drifting also is very well implemented in my opinion. All it needs is perhaps some time pressure or other game rules to encourage to drive faster (since that is really fun to do) but I can really understand how there was no time left for such extras. Very solid entry, well done!
I think the concept and the scope of this game are perfect for the theme and the amount of time available for Ludum Dare. You managed to make quite a lot and that is impressive. Like some other comments mentioned, some balance could improve the experience, but getting balance right is always a bit difficult during a jam. Well done!
Really fun entry, these are the kinds of games I hope for when I start Ludum Dare. The concept is really good for the theme and the execution is great, well done!
I do not think I am cut out to be a garbage truck driver, at least I do not think so after playing this game. A fun little entry, well done!
This game is so cool! I solved everything with crossbows, but the fact that that worked is so cool to me. I did have to redesign a bit each level to make it work better, but that was part of the fun for me. Amazing entry and quite unique. The limited space available really added to the experience, as you have to engineer around it. Very well done!
In essence very simple and very much to the point but also with a very polished feel. Reminds me a lot of looting in Escape from Tarkov, which is something I very much enjoy. So very good job!
Truly and amazing entry! Had a lot of fun playing it and kept discovering new features of the game as it went along. Very well made and a very good implementation of the theme. Well done!
Very cool idea to just describe what goes through your head when making a new game. It was a fun experience and it reminded me of the original Superhot story, which I think was quite neat. Especially for a jam, well done!
In this game you are truly running out of space, very well done! Difficulty spikes very fast, which I do not think is a bad thing for these types of games. It is easy to learn and hard to master, which I think is very welcome at Ludum Dare. Good work!
Very interesting idea to make a detective with the memory mechanic and even add in a space limitation, certainly impressive for a Ludum Dare entry. Well done!
@fabula-rasa Thank you so much for playing and also thank you for the bug report. It has been fixed now and I added a quick way to skip the intro if you wanna give it another try. The descriptions you mentioned were certainly planned but were not added due to time constraints, so I very much agree.
Really like this entry, these are always the types of games I hope for. Although the game has quite a few variables to keep track off, I did not find the game hard to learn. Of course improvements could be made to make the game even more interesting, but from the comments I can tell you were going to do that already if time had allowed it. A very good entry in my opinion, well done!
Such an awesome game, it reminds me a bit of 'Rounds' because it allows you to make some amazing builds. I decided to go with a whole lot of enhance modules together with bitrot. While this did work for me in the end, there was always the risk of scramble destroying my setup and I really appreciate that. Liked it so much that I kept playing for a whole hour, so my compliments!
The only negative I can note is that it is short, but that is probably something that is not too hard to fix for you. The artwork and the concept are fun, so let me know if you ever finish a longer version!
This game is easy to get into and easy to keep playing. There is some good polish and new mechanics are introduced as you go, which keeps the game in a nice flow. The implementation of the theme is nicely done as well. I can see this being a quick mobile game to play on endless mode while waiting for the train. Well done!
The game has a very coherent style and that makes it feel very polished. The quick introduction of controls and mechanics as you play is a very good addition. Like someone else mentioned, adding some checkpoints would make it easier to learn from mistakes. Overall a solid entry, well done!
A beautiful looking game with a very polished feel to it. Easy to learn and with a smooth learning curve. I very enjoyed it, well done!
I really like the artwork and I think you managed to create a really good atmosphere in combination with the sound and the story. The idea of water slowly coming up as you solve the puzzles creates a sense of urgency without it feeling stressed. Felt a bit like an escape room, which is a compliment from my part. Well done!
That was a very enjoyable entry. Normally I do not like reading as much but this game made it very easy. The presentation was very good and made it easy to focus for me. The encounters combined with the small minigames really made sure time passed as if it was nothing. I even liked the poem the game wrote for me: > The time is flowing like a stream > I see the promise of unknown > Yet there’s nothing I can do > And ocean deep is precious blue.
The last line reminded me of a line by Mikhail Lermontov: 'Earth sleeps in the radiant blue…'. A good submission, well done!
I think the graphics and animations were really nice and the concept of a 3D tower defense game in which you also play as a character is very good. Quite impressive to be able to realize such a game in a game jam. Well done!
Very interesting concept that works quite well. The mechanics are quite extensive but easy enough to learn. Well done!
Very good entry mood-wise, the claustrophobic vibe together with spiders is a pretty good recipe to give someone the creeps. Luckily I blasted them all away. Well done!
It is very cool idea to turn a familiar environment (a platformer) into something new by adding the mechanic. It forces you to improvise and relearn what you know. I would say that your game is promising and, if you choose to continue working on it, has some potential. Good work!
Very impressed with how polished the UI is and how properly stylized it all is. Good idea for this theme as well. Well done!
The whole experience feels really consistent, polished and complete. Everything feels like it works properly and the rollercoaster ride is over before you even realize it. The short bits of story between the sections and every floor having new opponents adds a lot of flavour to it all. Very impressive that you managed to put it all together with the given time constraint. Well done!
Very fun spin on the theme, really liked your implementation of the deckbuilding mechanic. I played for quite some time, each time getting a little further, which felt quite rewarding. Well done!
I really love the entire vibe of this project. The animations, the lighting and the models all come together to create a cozy vibe. I really enjoyed playing it and felt like it was appropriately balanced. Good idea to make the wizard itself not too powerful and really nudge the player to interact with the special mechanics of this game. A very good entry, well done!
I am jealous (in a nice way) at your ability to develop and execute such a nice package in such a short time. The controls are easy to grasp, the game explains itself by letting you play it. There are not too many mechanics for it to become complicated, but enough for it to have some depth. The audio adds to the game a lot, I really enjoy having all the clones walking into their demise to end up back at the original character after I achieved what I wanted. The game also does not feel too punishing and I think that makes it more fun to mess around with. Very well done!
Really love the graphics as always, but this time Belle really outdid herself. The cards are especially beautiful and everything fits together really well. I was also impressed by how well the game recognizes the shapes you draw and how it starts becoming second nature after playing for a while. Good idea for a mechanic and really fits well with the theme of summoning. The amount of effort and polish that has gone into this game are very obvious and you deserve all the praise you are getting. Super well done!
I spent way longer on this than I thought I was going too. I never play these types of games, but I picked this one up and did not put it down for at least half an hour if not more. The fact that your employees are different types of entities that you summon works really I think, makes you think about what to summon where to fill orders. It is also polished really nicely, so I really this entry! Well done!
Very impressive that you managed to get all these mechanics in the game and still had time left to make a proper tutorial to explain it all. The tutorial does not feel too long and gives a lot of character to the entire project. I also enjoy the mechanics that can potentially be dangerous to yourself, it makes the whole experience feel more interesting. A solid entry all around, well done!
Good attempt, certainly an interesting idea to let the player decide where to spawn enemies. I hope you get more time to work on the project and add in the additional features you mentioned. I think you could make something really good with your ideas. Well done!
This feels like a very coherent, polished and consistent package that can be learned in minutus and played for hours. Very cool entry, well done!
This game certainly has a lot of charm and intrigued me enough to keep trying and trying to find my way out of the conversation. All the mechanics work as you would expect and are implemented quite well. The concept is a really humorous twist on the theme that lands really well. So my compliments, well done!
I really enjoyed the audio. I accidently left the menu music on while opening another tab but I really enjoyed it quite a bit. The game itself is good too, the implementation of the theme is very clear and works quite well with a platformer. Overall a very solid entry!
A very well executed and super polished entry that I kept playing over and over. The balancing of the difficulties is also well done, which I can really appreciate knowing how hard that is to get right. The graphics are amazing I think (but I have a soft spot for this type of pixel art). The summoning of slime of course also fits the theme very well, so no complaints on that front either. Very well done!
I really love this game and I really love poker, sadly I am also not too good at poker. The amount of work you put into making clear to the player how the score is calculated really helped me but in the end it could not make up for my lack of skill. As I really like the game, I would love to see a post-jam version. If you decide to continue working on it, I would love a UI change where the cards you can select are not next to the different hands. I know this is just me not paying attention, but I kept thinking that cards belonged to a certain hand and then clicking the wrong buttons. Overall I think you made something great, well done!
I really like the consistency of this game. The colors and the sprites are simple in appearance but I can tell that you are quite good at making them all fit together. The tutorial text next to the starting room and the cutscene are also well done and make it very clear to the player what is expected of them. Great work!
The idea of defeating and then summoning enemies is really neat, I would absolutely consider fleshing that out if you decide to keep on working on this game. The sprites look really good too and they are very consistent. Well done!
Simple concept that you executed really well and adopted to the theme perfectly. The graphics and the audio really help to set the uneasy mood while this huge demon slowly comes into frame. Well done!
Well done! You certainly have a talent for animation, that is very clear. The game itself is also surprisingly well put together, I think the fact that you can climb is really cool! Good entry :)
I am always impressed by 3D games during jams and especially 3D games that manage to maintain a sense of polish and consistency like you have. You implementation of the theme feels more grounded and I appreciate that. Well done!
I really like the graphics and I think the game is very well scoped for a game jam. I managed to learn it quite quickly by just playing and I enjoyed that each level brought a new mechanic into the game to complicate matters. It reminded me a bit of agar.io, which is also a a game I can accidently play for hours. Well done!
A lot of work went into this game and I think you can be proud of what you made. The lighting works especially well and the rest of the graphics fit in nicely. The only thing I would comment on is the lacking contrast between the floors and the walls, but that is something I also struggle with myself at times. Theme is also clearly present in your game and there is plenty of content, which is always impressive. Well done!
This is a really amazing entry! You made a polished and complete package in such a short time and you even managed to make it fun. It is very impressive. The graphics are nice, the audio is good, the theme is implemented clearly and the gameplay is unique and easy enough to start playing and deep enough to spend some time with it. I hope to see more of your work in the future!
Presentation is always beautiful in your games and this one is no different. You can tell for both environments and the creatures that you always went one step further by making unique sprites. Story telling in jam games is also challenging, but you do it and you do it well. The gameplay is basic, but especially during the last fight it did still feel engaging and fun. Overall, really well done and as always I hope to see more of your work in the future!
A very ambitious game with an interesting setting (that fits the theme) with a big world to explore. It was a bit difficult to progress, but of course that is also part of the challenge. Good job!
This is one of the only games I have played that warrants the humor category. Hilarious backing track to go with the (imo) relatively tight controls!
I was truly stunned when I finished this in-depth, fun and beautiful game and it said 'made in 48 hours'. I honestly wished I could work that well and that fast and make games like that for a compo. The graphics are super consistent and clear, which really made the game easy to play and pretty to look at. I only experienced minor pathfinding issues, but never fully game breaking, which to me is impressive. The game also really fits the 'tiny creature' theme to me, so great job. As a Dutch person, we hate the sea! Amazing entry!
Congratulations on your work. You managed to make a short and beautiful game with an actual storyline in it as well. Very impressive, I hope to see much more of your work in the coming jams!
I really like this concept, for some reason the idea of performing a seemingly mundane task in a bigger world really charms me. Reminded me slightly of 'Papers please', which is a good thing in my books. Everything feels polished and the game teaches you the mechanics as you play, which is great. Great work!
Good work on adding a tutorial to a jam game, that always requires some additional work. The game works pretty well, so good job!
A very cool idea executed well, good work!
The concept definitely has legs! I could see this being expanded and polished into a full game with some more time put into it. It's almost like a reverse vampire survivors. Neat!
I love strategy and tactical gameplay, so this was right up my alley. The pacing is great, the tiny sprites are wonderful and the challenge was well balanced! well done!
Those bees got busy! and might have damaged my left mouse button (I was supposed to click like a madman, correct?). In any case, it's a good entry with intuitive mechanics, very fitting bee-like vibey music and bright early summer visuals. Solid entry!
This game is so well made, especially considering the amount of time you could spend on it. The graphics are not only great to look at, they also really set a cosy mood. The mechanics are familiar enough and still unique, especially that you can stand still without influencing the sheep. The fact that you can play in co-op only made it better for me. Great job!
Amazing amount of work for the timespan considered. The graphics are of course beautiful and together with the game mechanics they fit the theme really well. Great work!
Super fun idea! Great level size and quite a large set of mechanics for a jam game. Sneaking around in broad daylight was quite a challenge! placeholder_meme.png
A fun little entry that fits the theme well, good work!
Fun entry, definitely can tell you put a lot of effort in the story telling both in the writing and in the changing of the levels. The gameplay is basic, but fun enough, but it was mostly the story that made me try to finish my task as fast as possible. Congrats on this great game and hope to see more of your work!
I defeated crime, thanks to my good/bad boys! The animation in this was pretty fun. It reminded me of old cartoon network shows :D
A really fun and good looking game that even has a storyline to it. I always find it impressive when people manage to fit a story into their jam games. Well done!
Great job with the sense of scale. The swinging horse in the background, partially obstructed by the fog really helped sell the illusion of being tiny. It also made the game extra spooky :O
For 5 hours in a new engine, you did pretty well! You stuck to the theme and did a decent job. I hope to see more LD entries from you in the future!
Absolutely a great take on the theme! The levels nicely introduce the different mechanics, the controls feel good, the sprites and animations are amazing and the puzzles are easy enough for a beginner like me. It is a very polished package, which I always appreciate most , as it is so hard to make in a short period of time. Very well done!
Very cool concept for a jam game, a cute stealth game. The graphics are amazing and the mechanics feel polished enough. Good job!
Very creative combination, has a blast playing it. Well done!
Only stopped playing to write this, great game guys! Everything works, the art-style makes me happy and the fact that I have to run and gun forces me to play this game the right way. Good game, both in concept and execution!
Had a lot of fun trying to get better, this would actually be good use for education while also being a lot of fun!
Really liked the DHMIS reference, thank you for that! Good concept, had a lot of fun!
Nice graphics, good unique gameplay and I really like the music. Great work!
I want to start by saying that I love the graphics and the amount of polish you guys put into this game. The gameplay itself is great and everything just feels right to me. Would love to see more great work. Best of luck and congrats on this gem!
Nicely done, liked how fluid the movement felt and the pretty functional graphics.
Had no idea what to expect when I read the description, but I can only say I am pleasantly surprised! Great job on both the concept and the execution.
I was afraid I was not going to like it that much, but you guys executed this idea really well. Really liked the experience and the game in general. Keep up the good work!
I like the graphics and the controls are pretty good, but I feel like blood should be lost at a slower pace so that I can race around the place a lot more. Still a great game, best of luck!
Good concept, nice graphics and feels smooth, good job!
This game could have had coloured squares as graphics and I would still be sucked into it. It's great how you turned bullethell into a game in which you have to plan ahead. Hope you make this into a full game!
Great game, actually played it for more time than I had planned, so that's a good sign I am sure ;)
Needs a little bit of polish, but overall it's very good!
Nice music, good setting and beautiful graphics. Very cool what you did with the theme.
Like the graphics, game is a little hard to play at first, but I got used to it quickly.
I always love myself some old terminals. Nice writing on the descriptions, but perhaps add an ASCI minimap with a command?
I love the graphics, theme and the idea. Not much to do yet and a little more help would be helpful, but I hope you keep working on this project.
One of my favourite games for this jam. Great music, easy to learn, fun and very well executed. Congratulations!
Loved the graphics and had a lot of fun, this could easily be a full game!
Great graphics, easy to play and a lot of fun! Well done guys!
Really creative concept and I personally like the graphics style you went with. This could be really good if you polish it a little bit more!
Wished I could actually date the blocks.. Great game guys! (Documenting all you ideas and making a schedule give you time for breaks, found that out this jam)
Had a lot of fun with this game. Running away feels smooth and gathering and placing letters is really easy. The graphics style is very good and helps makes the whole thing feel complete. I hope you guys expend on this game, I'd love to play it!
Great atmosphere! The graphics and music go really well together and the concept is familiar, yet refreshing. Well done!
Great graphics and solid gameplay, great job!
The collision needs some work, but the graphics are gorgeous and the concept is great. Keep working on this, since I want to see this finished!
Love the idea. The minigame is fun and very fluid and it made me want to replay again and again. Very good job and keep going!
I like it a lot, it has a nice happy vibe to it and is still challenging.
Amazing graphics, very responsive controls and a bit of nostalgia, great idea and great game, well done!
Nicely written, I kinda went into it not expecting gruesome murder, but I was pleasantly surprised!
Love the graphics, setting and the overall idea you guys came up with! From all these elements that seem Incompatible you managed to create something coherent and fun. Great job!
GUI was a little tricky at first, but had a blast playing it. Hope you guys create more levels which, liked what I have played so far!
Great graphics with fun gameplay, although the Goblins seem to be a bit better. I still had a great time and hope you make it into a full game later!
Had a lot fun, but adding a tutorial would make it even better!
A really solid rhythm game with good music, had fun playing it. Congrats!
Had a lot of fun playing with controller, hope you guys extend on this later and make it into a full game!
I always love these unique card games, fits very well with the theme, congrats on your game!
It does need some more work to make the game feel a little bit more intuitive, but the concept is really nice. Perhaps not for everyone, but I happen to love terminals ;)
A little bit hard to play, but that's certainly not down to the controls, those are solid. Like the creativity and I do see great potential. Try adding a tutorial, since I didn't know what to do at first.
I did not understand what to do at first, but figuring out what to do is beautiful in itself. Good music and a cool experience in general!
Very fun minigame, but I still didn't always know what to do. Either way, the story was very entertaining!
I like the graphics a lot and the gameplay is very smooth! Great work!
Great graphics, very good use of brilliant mechanics. Would love to see this be made in a full game (which it kinda already is).
I love it, the shift in music actually made me laugh. Great job on the graphics and the gameplay is really fun!
Nicely made and very playable in its current state, would like to see it become a full game!
Great concept with nice graphics. Everything goes a little fast, but I quickly figured out what I had to do and had a lot of fun. Thanks and best of luck!
Really good job guys, very responsive controls and also very rewarding. Like the theme and art style you guys went for as well. I can really tell you guys paid attention in class ;)
Nice old school fun. Well executed concept and easy to understand and play without much help at all. That is quite an achievement for a dungeon game with console. It's simply beautiful in its simplicity.
This game is very addicting and I had a lot of fun with it! Hope you turn this into a full game!
This was quite deep story within a very atmospheric game. I personally kept playing just to get the know the full story of the main character. Honestly one of the best entries I have played regarding the theme!
Great audio, lovely grapbics and fun and addictive gameplay. I have one small suggestion, perhaps make the GUI sprite that shows how many enemy planes spawned the same colour as the enemy planes. I misunderstood them for lives when I just started playing. That is just a suggestion, it still is a great game!
Nice pixel art and very playable. Would love to see you finish it!
Great game with funny dialogue, would love to see more of this!
Nice music, good art and fun idea. Very well done!
I love your graphics style and the polished feel of everything. I imagined you guys had to work hard on this, but the result is totally worth it. Congrats guys!
@piscythe Thanks for taking the time to get that far! I totally agree with you on all your feedback. If I keep working on this I will add more enemy unit variety and make some changes to the spawning intervals to create more of a challenge before the tanks roll in.
@Jrpl Thanks for your feedback! That would actually help a lot, I will check if I can implement that.
@Fylipp agreed, that would be interesting. Or it results in a lot of dead. Either way, sounds fun to me ;)
@La mecanique du plastique Good points, I was actually already thinking a bit about how I could keep the screen clean for a post Ludum Dare version. Also, sound is a bit lacking, hope I can also improve on that.
@jsmars I actually liked that game a lot. Must have been in the back of my mind while making the ground and such. Some music would be great, chansons from the 20's with the sound of vinyl has my preference ;)
@Wevel Sorry about that, if you want, could you send me a mail with a little information what you did that led to this event. So far I have not been able to recreate it for myself.
@siimer It's a bit unforgiving, but since I played it so much during testing, the beginning was too easy for me, so I guess I overdid it a little. The airstrikes and barbed wire are things for late game when your trenches are already filled with canon fodder and your income is higher, but I also think that should be changed to be more useful in the beginning. Thanks for you feedback, I will add all your suggestions to the list and thanks for playing!
@lewis-quaife It really is, will certainly balance it for the full version and I loved making units for this game, so I will add many more options. Thanks a lot for your feedback and thanks for playing!
@lerg Sadly I don't have a mac with me or a license for HTML5, but I will try to export it to either one. Already heard that people think this would make for a good mobile game, so I will look into it!
@Cohav0310 A friend of mine in class also figured out how to keep playing it by just forever spamming basic infantry, causing the game to get really slow because of the amount of enemies. In a final version the way enemies come to you will be different and not in this linear fashion. Right now when you have a bit of succes you get this snowball effect where you turn into a god, which gets boring quick. Thanks for taking your time to play and I appreciate the feedback!
@langotriel Sounds like a really cool idea actually, mail me at arjan.schelhaas@live.nl and we can talk it over. Cheers!
You guys did a great job, seems like you put a lot of work into it. Glad it paid off in the end, hope many people get to enjoy it like I have.
Really like the concept and the game is easy and fun to play. Did get stuck once, but that is something easy to fix. Keep working on it and you'll have a great finishes product!
This was great fun to play, mowing down endless streams of friendly blue creatures never gets old. Congrats!
Two concepts nicely mashed up. Good music, clear GUI and tutorial. Keep up the good work!
Really good concept, easy to play, nice graphics and solid animations! Good job!
Personally really like the concept. It was a bit unclear at first what I had to do, but once I started to get the hang of it, it was a lot of fun. Great job and good luck!
Amazing work, I love the graphics, sound and the unique idea you came up with! I was very sceptical of how this game could ever be scary, but I was soon proven wrong and cornered in a room. Keep up the good work!
Would love to play, could you upload a final build?
Sweet concept with a good execution, well done!
Liked playing this a lot, very cool idea to turn an old concept into something new like this. Hope you expand on this!
And I was just starting to like it... Great job guys, good art and great use of the theme!
I like the idea, but buttons feel a little bit unresponsive. It also feels like there is not really a goal to keep going. I do like the art style a lot.
Voxel graphics are great, which caused my pc to handle it poorly. Despite that, loved the atmosphere, would love to see more of this!
Really liked the music and the graphics, but gameplay is a bit slow at the beginning. Other than that I really enjoyed it, great job!
