Cool game, I am having performance issues though.

@scifi6546 Thanks for the feedback, and i'm sorry you're having performance issues with the game i'll see what I can do about it.
Pretty cool little game, although the enemies being able to move through walls felt a bit unfair. I also had a couple times where the next fire would spawn right next to me, if this is intended I would recommend making the distance a bit more as it felt a little too "giving" to have points be that easy. Otherwise its great!
Fun game! I think it'd need some balancing though. As for example - enemies should be slower, or player faster. With two ghosts it's VERY difficult not to get killed..
@sirtyler Thanks, I've thought the same about the flame right now it just takes a random point and spawns there, and I didn't have enough time to make the enemies go around the wall so they just go through them.
@noobexception Thank you, I'll see if I can get around to changing the game's difficulty.
Fun game and I really liked the pixel art style. Although the wind monsters going trough walls was a bit unfair imho
This is a fun little game, good job
@nipatiitti Yeah, it was either let them go through walls or have them get stuck on them there wasn't enough time to make them smart enough to go around, I really appreciate the feedback.
@petrifiedapple Thank you :)
Finding a lot of games about keeping fires "alive" instead of an actual creature, didn't think I'd find a game where you're doing both. The little first guy reminds me of the characters from the original Donkey Kong. I played a couple times but didn't get very far, I'm sure there's some sort of pattern to it all but I didn't last long enough.
Simple but fun. Maybe the sound effects could improve a bit? Also I seemed to get super stuck after being hit just once by the white guys, I think it could be a tiny bit more lenient. Really liked it though, good job!
@shaolin-dave Yeah while I was making the character there was this voice in the back of my head saying this character seems familiar. Also thanks for the feedback.
@vawer The sound fxs were a last-minute edition so there wasn't much time to make them sound right. But thanks for the feedback.
Wowwww this game is very hard. I found that if you take basically 1 hit it was basically over since you also lost speed and vision. It actually took me a few runs before I realized you can go under the table. Once I figured that out things went a bit better and my highest score is 900.
I found the game fun because of it's difficulty. I thought the monsters were EXTREMELY scary because of how devastating a hit is. I'm not sure I agree with making the difficulty any easier. I think for jam games it's important to make sure the difficulty doesn't prevent players from seeing all the content. But since you have all your content up front, I think it's fine to just challenge the player a bit. Good entry, I really liked the vision effect as well as how the sprite changes as your flame dies down.
@peachtreeoath Thanks for the very helpful feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed it. **Also a tip:** the monster can't infinitely see you if you can get out of there range they will just patrol the area.
Good game! I like it :)
Nice concept and art! The main difficulty of the game came from the wind monsters who move a bit too fast and turn faster than you can
@izhvaryag Thanks :)
@j-fret I'll take note of the monster speed, Thanks for playing and giving feedback.
Love the fact that you can go under the table - that was a really nice touch.
To echo other opinions, the wind was too powerful. I think one good way to balance it would be after the gust hits you then it should disappear
Solid game!
@rkhadder That's a really good idea for the gust monsters, Thanks for the feedback.
Really was surprised that I could go under the table, nice touch for sure! Everything works very well and it's a fun idea to try for this theme. I did feel like being hit once was basically a death sentence and that there was not much space to really prevent being hit by enemies. I am sure you can quite easily fix this with a few balancing changes. Overall, job well done!
@hare-software I'm glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate the feedback; There are quite a few issues with the enemies that I wasn't able to fix in time for release.
I was going to complain that the table confused me at first, by looking too much like just like another wall. But then I tried the post-jam version, and noticed that you'd basically fixed that, by just adding a lot more variety in the things you're walking around. So good work there!
@ptsnoop Yeah the jam submission was really rushed the post-jam version fixes a lot of the originals issues. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Cute game, but it got boring quite fast as there was not much to do except walking to the arrow and not taking too sharp turns.
Fun little game, although the enemies were really tough to deal with! The post compo version seemed to make them easier, but it had a tendency to space the fires really fire about which was frustrating. You lose some of your flame and there's nothing you can really do if you just have to walk a far distance.
Some little things that might be fun additions (in my opinion, fun game still tho) A proper fog of war, like can't see behind walls and such. Either a proper tile based lighting system or a full on vector thingie (like a perfect circle and stuff) And perhaps more movement variation? Maybe I can use one of my "lives" to dash forward a bit, just cuz I kept getting stuck inbetween the gusts due to being slow. Otherwise, I see potential!
Nice little game! Loved the fact that the light radius got reduced as you ran out of flame. Music was very atmospheric.
Felt at times either too easy or too hard (once they are too close to you there's nothing you can do).
