LD39 — Running out of Power

Kingin' It by JoshyOshKenoshi 2020-04-20T04:50:49Z

It was a fun game although felt a little easy, perhaps I just got lucky but overall was a fun game and I loved the SFX! Felt a lot like reigns, which isn't a bad thing but definitely could have used something to stand out a little more.

LD46 — Keep it alive

pedALIVE (Pedal to keep it alive) by siryakko 2020-04-20T05:41:20Z

Cool concept, it felt like there was a "sweet spot" to the pedaling, almost like a rhythm game. I tried spamming the buttons and the game seemed to choke and stutter at the upper end and the score *maybe* capped out. If there is a rhythm to it I think having a heart beat or flatline to show when to be pressing the buttons could improve it. Perhaps also a timer so you aren't just competing against your own stamina as well! ~~my fingers are tired~~

Spooble: A Search Engine Story by allthebees 2020-04-20T05:56:27Z

Was really confused at first because I started typing with "how do" so didn't quite get the game for the first couple seconds. Fun little game! Would be nice if a little bit of text saying to type in order to play would show and fade out once you start, or just have it type by itself after a few seconds if the player doesn't do anything.

Overall I think its a nice short little story and would love to see it (and its interactivity) expanded upon, maybe even include fake IM messages, webcam, or image searches?

Soul Survivor by fakefrogsonly 2020-04-20T02:26:21Z

Fun little game, didn't realize how to gather the stones at first. I did also have an instance where I almost lost the game because an enemy spawned right next to the soul, perhaps ensuring they always spawn on the edge of the screen or a certain distance from the soul?

Light in the Dark by SirTyler 2020-04-20T02:03:59Z

There seems to be some kind of positional or physics bug in this version of Godot that is causing the chains in level and on the main menu to not show up (sometimes you can briefly see them on load). Trying to figure out the issue for a quick bug fix, but everything else is fine.

Light in the Dark by SirTyler 2020-04-20T05:49:26Z

@watswat5 @sergio-gonzalez Thanks for the heads up, turns out it was an issue with the export in "release" mode (to remove the console). I re-exported it as debug and that should fix the issue!

Light in the Dark by SirTyler 2020-04-20T06:06:00Z

@watswat5 I planned on tightening the jumping controls near the end, but ran out of time for a lot of polishing (including adding sound, finishing animations, and adding a few more levels). I agree the jumping feels off, its a bit "weightless" at times

Light in the Dark by SirTyler 2020-04-20T06:13:44Z

@mudlee I tested on both Linux and Windows, wasn't able to get a test done on OSX, are you able to give me anymore information?

Light in the Dark by SirTyler 2020-04-20T06:30:22Z

@mudlee @jetthesimon I've tried a re-upload of the OSX version, please let me know if it's still having issues

Light in the Dark by SirTyler 2020-04-20T06:30:22Z

@ubershmekel I originally planned on having buttons to swing the chain around, but it was a feature I had cut due to time as I spent hours on it with little to no progress

Light in the Dark by SirTyler 2020-04-20T07:00:09Z

Apparently I am not the only one that is having trouble exporting Godot to OSX so saddly it looks like I won't be able to support Mac :sob:

Keep It Alive by mhykah 2020-04-20T02:57:59Z

Love it, would have liked a little more variation but overall it was a great little game and really on theme!

Lich Clicker by Fictions 2020-04-20T02:39:20Z

I love the hand-drawn art style and I'm a sucker for clicker games. The web-version was too big at first and I couldn't see some UI elements, I later noticed there was a fullscreen button and that made the game a lot more playable. Overall I think you did a great job and would love to see it expanded on!

economy keeper by crazywulf 2020-04-20T06:03:02Z

Cool concept but I think for this maybe either slow it down or perhaps make it turn based, felt a little bit too hectic with all the people running around to be able to monitor what was happening. Could also be interesting if it was expanded upon with random events that happen to the population as time goes on, like disasters or temporary bonuses. Other than that I think its a solid little time-waster!

Keep Alex Alive by Madao 2020-04-20T05:21:25Z

I like the concept, but you can get screwed over by the RNG sometimes. I had a run where I drew 3 shields in a row and nothing to stop the enemies. I'm not sure if you are actually simulating a deck or just giving the player a random card, but you may want to try a simulated deck with a heavy weight on warriors.

Overall I like the game, and I could see it being really fun with a deck-building progression system added in!

Keep Alex Alive by Madao 2020-04-20T07:49:11Z

You can always keep working on it! No need to leave it half-finished just cause the Jam is over, keep at it!

Fire my guitar up by Alexey Kuzovkov 2020-04-20T05:31:31Z

Game was pretty cool, but I think the enemies should only disburse from the fire, not over time. The control being more point and click also made it a bit tedious to maneuver around the forest after some time, rather than engaging. If also felt like the fire lasted a very long time compared to how long it took to get to the objective. After a bit of running back and forth from the fire I realized I could just keep walking and not really go back to replenish it, the enemies disappearing on their own also didn't help with the sense of needing the fire.

I think if you had a faster burnout time on the fire, but a way to stockpile wood so it would "refresh" itself if you were gone could lead to more of a need to manage it. Overall tho I think its pretty solid.

Hearty Dose by Fupi 2020-04-20T05:16:53Z

This is awesome! I really love the style and music, and the gameplay is difficult but really rewarding once you start to get the hang of it. I also love that it has co-op support built in, thats a really nice extra touch,

Passing Flame by FallingFlatStudios 2020-04-20T05:44:26Z

Pretty cool little game, although the enemies being able to move through walls felt a bit unfair. I also had a couple times where the next fire would spawn right next to me, if this is intended I would recommend making the distance a bit more as it felt a little too "giving" to have points be that easy. Otherwise its great!

Not Clowning Around! by Wilson Taylor 2020-04-20T02:20:46Z

I really like the gameplay and LOVE the concept, a funny twist on a dark idea. Only complaints is I would prefer being able to use the keyboard to control the cannon rather than having to click the button everytime.

Castaway:A Spark of Hope by HeliturtleOP 2020-04-20T05:05:27Z

Hey just letting you know that I couldn't run your game on Windows, it is missing UnityPlayer.dll

Life of the Party by sirsnowy7 2020-04-20T03:08:25Z

I like the idea and it looks good, but the controls are really clunky to deal with (switching gears doesn't work properly) and its pretty easy to get stuck on objects. It could use some polish and then it would be a pretty good mini-game!

Stay Stoked by NikeStores 2020-04-20T05:12:00Z

Really enjoyed this game, would love to see it expanded on. I think the audio and graphics are good and fit well with the darker theme you are going for.

My only suggestion would be making the axe controlled by the mouse, with clicking to use it. That would allow you to have an easier time targeting trees, the fire, and the enemies as right now its locked to 4 directions and is a little clunky to hit the sweet-spot for actions (especially on the fire)

Stay Stoked by NikeStores 2020-04-20T05:33:59Z

@nikestores The Jam and Compo are two separate timelines, so make sure you know which one you want to be in! The Jam has looser rules, so if you feel you want the extra time go ahead and do it! I think mouse control would make the game really shine, may even want to add some more enemies while you are at it.

Lark will Live by Manaki Senpai 2020-04-20T06:45:39Z

Game was pretty good, if a bit confusing at the end. I like the idea that the ending you choose has repercussions making you unable to actually restart the game (*even if just closing and re-opening fixes that*).

I think learning more about Lark during prior levels would make the ending have more impact and be less of a trial-and-error that it is. Would like to see it expanded upon with some more interesting platforming!

Hypoglycemic Dino by MDF9 2020-04-20T05:01:37Z

Cool little game and I really liked your art, but the controls felt a little flightly/light for how tight you were making the jumping. The controls also weren't explained anywhere so I had to mash my keyboard till I found them out. Love the concept of blood sugar being your life bar tho!

Coffin : The Game by Rafit345 2020-04-20T04:55:41Z

Was a nice short little game, but felt like the collisions were a little too unforgiving and you could bounce/stutter along the walls. I think it could be pretty cool with some more polish and levels tho!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Deep3r by SirTyler 2021-04-26T17:22:27Z

@appix There are sound effects, could you tell me which platform you are playing on so I could try and find out why it might not be playing them?
