Cool concept, it felt like there was a "sweet spot" to the pedaling, almost like a rhythm game. I tried spamming the buttons and the game seemed to choke and stutter at the upper end and the score *maybe* capped out. If there is a rhythm to it I think having a heart beat or flatline to show when to be pressing the buttons could improve it. Perhaps also a timer so you aren't just competing against your own stamina as well! ~~my fingers are tired~~

siryakko 2020-04-20 06:11

The idea is to fight for the stamina, the virtual and the real one. You're right about the sweet spot :). In a perfect world the game would be based on the bpm or a metronome kind of thing and not just the urge of getting the music just to continue. Don't forget to stretch before and after playing ^^

Great game idea. Opening sequence was great btw :)

oh no! sorry for the sudden spam of comments, something weird happened with the website :/ I can't seem to delete them...

allthebees 2020-04-20 19:39

I love the animation and vibe!

lestat 2020-04-20 19:48

Good graphics style. It fits the theme. Good job!

joe-allen-dev 2020-04-20 21:48

Fun game with some lovely hand drawn animation! Nice job :)

memogaming 2020-04-20 22:10

The animations are very nice. Was hard to understand what to do at first but after a couple of tries it was quite fun.

mono 2020-04-20 22:12

Cool animation! I found the gameplay feedback to be a bit weird though (no indication of overshooting, slowing down replenishes stamina but it sounds like you fail?). Nice job overall!

itsonrandom 2020-04-20 22:15

Amazing art/animation style and the different music was cool! Wasn't sure what the end goal was as it felt like I was just going forever though? Amazing entry though, very unique

binaryprinciple 2020-04-20 23:04

3125 is my second try. Nice graphics and perspective, very creative!

junojop 2020-04-21 02:49

definitely a concept i wouldn't ever have thought of! kudos on your dedication

sayumeki 2020-04-21 03:31

Music didn't load the first time for some reason, but the second time it did and wow, what a jam! I love the animation style in this game too. I found the pedaling sound to be kind of jarring compared to the music - though I did enjoy how the music sped up and slowed down.

aditya-kumar 2020-04-21 03:54

These rotoscoped (?) animations are super slick. The music is pretty great and fun to tap along with as well!

synystercola 2020-04-21 04:02

Really like the concept! The tempo of the music changing, the interesting art, and overall gameplay mechanics are really solid. I had a lot of fun with this :)

siryakko 2020-04-21 07:31

Hey everyone thank you for playing and giving us your feedbacks and comments, we really appreciate it as it was our first LD as a team and we try to create something unique and we hope fun.

Bery made an awesome job on the animation and graphics as he learned about animation during this event. The result is really perfect and gave me more pressure to make the mechanics works or not being broken (too much).

Nixco worked his ass off to make the music in a genre that is not really his usual.

BTW on the "music/stage" selection screen, you should try the Konami Code... just saying

ilimanic 2020-04-22 21:02

Great graphics and animations!

saering 2020-04-22 21:31

Cool entry :) I think the art style is nice but you could have been further, like animating the texts the same way you animated the character, for example, it would have make the visual more polished. Also, the game lacks feedback and it requires some tries to fully understand how it is meant to be played. But overall, I had fun !

ectucker1 2020-04-23 01:27

Love the visual animation style on this; it was very fluid looking! The music fit with it well. Could use a bit more visual or audio feedback to help explain how the game works, but it was quite enjoyable once I got the hang of it.

doctortm 2020-04-23 04:44

The drawings are amazing! It took me a few times to understand how to play, and how I get points. But overall it's nice!

talia 2020-04-23 15:52

Music and style kinda feels like "back to the 80's" :bike:

siryakko 2020-04-23 22:17

@talia exactly what we had in mind

lapinchatware 2020-04-25 14:27

I love this game. Good work theme! This rotoscopic style is very interesting. I think this has the potential to become a rhythm game.

jin9310 2020-04-25 16:01

Really cool take on the theme and I really love how you approached the visuals. Really fresh. I like it a lot. Thanks

alia-zanetsu 2020-04-25 16:18

Great game ! Couldn't go far, but it's only because I have a left-arrow problem, nothing to do with the game !

monkeydvrus 2020-04-26 10:36

I like the graphics, it reminds me of the A-Ha clip "Take on me" and the music is great! Good job

anoushcat 2020-04-26 21:19

Nice little game! The art style is original, and it was a nice take on the theme :) Maybe it lacks something to keep it entertaining in my opinion. Good job otherwise!

fancypants 2020-04-28 21:57

The animations and music are pretty good, but the gameplay's not really challenging.

gaming-night 2020-04-29 13:01

I liked the animation and music synchronized with the bpm. Great effect! However I didn't really understand the gameplay. What I did was to alternatively press the left and right keys until I reach 50 of stamina, then I stopped, waiting for it to refill up to 100, and finally I started to press again. By doing that I reached a score of 8689. I didn't get at that time why the music stopped neither (as I was still pedaling). I don't know if it's a good score, I guess not, since I didn't really understood what I was doing :) I tried to pedal in rhythm with the music, I didn't perceived an improvement of my score. P.S.: I did find the secret room, the best music in my opinion!

andidebob 2020-04-30 07:12

A very cool artstyle I haven't really seen like this in a game. The game itself is fine for what it is, but I could have done with a better explanation of what is going on. Only by reading the comments here could I figure out how to succeed and get a score higher than a few hundred. Either way it is a cool looking nice little game!

siryakko 2020-04-30 11:52

Hey @gaming-night @andidebob thanks for playing and your feedback. We know we lacked of feedback or clear goal. Time was running out for us and some idea were not integrated. At first their was an idea of clear "battery" to fill up, the remaining of that idea is the speed of the music. Then i stay with the stamina and the idea of avoiding killing the character by using too much of high speed (heart rate and such). I removed some of the graphic feedback before the end because it was making the game unstable for some reasons. The points are link to the intensity with multiplicators. When you release the effort you are loosing time and no points are earned.

Lots of things to had, not much time in the end. That was a first for us as well and are still learning so thanks again for your feedback.

quadape 2020-04-30 19:39

I liked the rotoscoped animations, even with a simple premise, they make the game a lot more exciting!

gameovermexico 2020-05-08 10:36

Good Idea, Nice Job!
