LD45 — Start with nothing

errant by zillix 2019-10-09T05:05:25Z

I love the humor of this game and the art style, the audios superb and the controls are smooth like butter, my favorite part has to be when you glitch out the characters it's really fun, this game has a lot of promise and I hope to see more from you in the future.

Scrap Time by auxC 2019-10-08T01:51:27Z

This game has a great atmosphere, and the control's are very smooth, my favorite part of it is the impacts.

Survivor Slots by PeachTreeOath 2019-10-08T16:16:30Z

Awesome game, I love the art style, and I think with some music & sounds it could be even better, through it would have been cool if the dangerous slots did something special like if you got a bunch of storms in a row something would happen, but it has a lot of potential in it and I hope to see more games like it in the future.

There were 8 hours left and I decided I wanted to participate after all by Corny 2019-10-09T01:43:02Z

this is a very polished game for 8 hours, the music and sounds are amazing, and so is the combat the controls are very smooth, and it has great art style, the only drawback I can find is the camera, when you turn your player the camera swings to the other side and it makes me a little disorientated, But besides that it's a very good game.

0 Lives left by nax_89 2019-10-08T01:09:00Z

this game is full of great idea's, through there is a part where you can get soft locked when you first get the ability to go right and go to the launch pipe you can go to the far right of the pipe and be launched infinitely and the moving platform is just out of reach, other then that great game and I love the art style

Vault 7 by Luk3 2019-10-09T16:20:51Z

Very clever idea, it did take me awhile to figure out what to do to escape, but i'd say with more rooms and some more polish this could become a very good puzzle game.

Shadow Go Home by Algebru 2019-10-07T21:41:26Z

I love the art style of this game, but when you're first dropped in it gives little information on were to go, and there are a few areas with finicky collision, besides that it's a superb game.

Terminal by jaydubbyasee 2019-10-07T21:22:04Z

This idea is very clever, I found the downward momentum a little weird but all in all it's a very good game.

Nightwatch by Brallex 2019-10-09T16:31:20Z

The art style, music, and sounds remind of the escapist, and the bonanza bros and I love it, I think that the camera is a little to far away from the characters so it makes it hard to tell who's who maybe giving each of the players there own camera might help. besides that this is a great game and I hope to see more.

When Nothing Came by velvetlobster 2019-10-09T16:53:49Z

I love this game, it has great art, music, sounds, I love it when you click around to reveal more of the story, this game is full of potential and I would love to see more of it in the future.

S͟t͟a͟r͟t͟ With Nothing by Coldsanwdich189 2019-10-09T04:42:37Z

I really like this game it's a very clever use of the theme and I think with some more polish it could be even better, also to answer your early question the ludum dare rule's say that "Certain Bug Fixes are allowed. You can’t add new features, but if something broke or didn’t work correctly as you were finishing up, you can fix this after the deadline. You are asked to highlight the changes you make in your submission (a short change log). You probably wont get a 2nd chance with some players, but at least it wont be a problem for future players".

Blankspace by Dominium11 2019-10-07T23:38:28Z

Great game, I love the art style and it has a whole bunch of great idea's. I especially like the way you handle what function you have at what time.

Sluggish Grind by Catusfelony 2019-10-08T04:45:08Z

Great Job, the art style is awesome it's very reminiscent of the old gameboy games, and the control's feel good, it did take me a little bit to figure out how to get past the spikes at the bottom, But a great game.

Colorless by FallingFlatStudios 2019-10-07T23:43:44Z

Thanks everyone for the awesome feedback, @jaydubbyasee & @lukvasando I think I've fixed the unresponsive jumping.

Colorless by FallingFlatStudios 2019-10-08T03:07:27Z

@nax-89 Thanks

Colorless by FallingFlatStudios 2019-10-08T19:09:38Z

@peachtreeoath Thanks, and I really want to expand upon the color mechanic in the future.

@corny I appreciate the very helpful feedback, and the reason level 2 is so easy is because it was a last second edition and I didn't have enough time to finish it.

Colorless by FallingFlatStudios 2019-10-09T04:21:23Z

@numilumi thanks for the feedback, I really like your idea of the end animation, I'm also thinking about making a post jam version so I can make the game a little more polished.

@velvetlobster very poetic, the tale of a slime losing his flower, and also the fact that all the color is being sucked away.

@arithipathic Thanks, I was very short on time so I had to throw something in for the win animation.

@ryuu I think if I make a post jam version I'll make the levels a little longer as well as give you more time with the color and obviously make a proper win animation.

@zillix Thanks, and there might be more.

@coldsanwdich189 I appreciate the feedback, and I definitely want to expand upon and add more mechanics to the game.

@brallex Thanks : )

Colorless by FallingFlatStudios 2019-10-09T04:51:01Z

@trifectuh thanks, I like your idea of the whole screen being filled with color at the beginning of the game, and if I make the post jam version I'll probably add it, and make the player faster or add a powerup, I'll also make more longer levels.

Colorless by FallingFlatStudios 2019-10-09T16:07:41Z

@vavro-srobar thanks.

@ogelgames thank you, I'll definitely try to improve the jumping in the future.

@baktillus I'll try to fix that if I make the post jam version, and thanks for the feedback : )

Colorless by FallingFlatStudios 2019-10-10T03:12:37Z

@kuviman Duly noted, if I make the the post jam version I will try to fix that, and I think I know what the problem is.

@guitarbro Thanks, I will definitely fix the camera, make the levels longer, add more mechanics, and add more polish in general, if I make a post jam version.

Colorless by FallingFlatStudios 2019-10-11T17:03:58Z

@bilalch213 Thanks : D

Colorless by FallingFlatStudios 2019-10-17T02:46:56Z

@silas-reinagel I've been working on the game for the past couple of weeks now making the levels longer, fixing the camera, making enemies, etc, I'm also trying to make a fitting win animation for the when you reach the goal, also I appreciate the very helpful feedback : )

Unlock by RetroBarbare 2019-10-08T00:31:26Z

Awesome game, it's a little hard but I beat the entire thing, I really like the idea of the developer talking to the player as he builds his game.

LD46 — Keep it alive

Keep The Beat Alive! by Willops 2020-04-21T01:59:51Z

This is a really cool take on the theme, though the UI on the web version is off when it's not in fullscreen, overall it's a very enjoyable experience.

Aviarium by AidanMarkham 2020-04-23T16:16:04Z

Cool game very serene, I like the flight mechanic it takes a little while to get used to not having inverted controls but it's really good.

Good Job.

Food Chuck by PeachTreeOath 2020-04-22T16:45:48Z

When the game started it gave me a rush of adrenaline, I wasn't paying attention to my left side when I decide to look over there was a whole bunch of them, it's a very addictive game.

Good job.

SPECIAL MEAT for a special boy by LethalTurtle 2020-04-25T01:33:47Z

Feeding the monster was the best part of the game, 10/10 would feed again (P.S The cult is not making me say this). But on a more serious note, This game has some pretty great visuals, with some solid mechanics, I would love to see this game expanded upon in the future maybe with some VR support.

Cactus Care by west 2020-04-20T20:42:11Z

Very neat game, though the mouse sensitvity was a little to fast for me; I also think that the game was trying to tell me that i'm not very good at keeping a cactus healthy.

Light in the Dark by SirTyler 2020-04-20T17:38:54Z

Good game, it has a nice atmosphere with some good art, I like how the cage moves around with the player, I would like to see more of this in the future.

Companion by Akadream 2020-04-21T01:42:45Z

Cool concept, I really like the visuals but there is an issue where the enemy gets inside the player making it hard to hit.

Arex: Contain And Keep by Hare Software 2020-04-22T17:45:59Z

Wow, this is a cool game, it's a very neat take on the theme. I accidentally got all of my research assistants killed and ended up dying myself, they hired the worst person to take care of a mutant bunny creature. Good Job.

Overwatch by rkhadder 2020-04-22T20:09:37Z

Easy to understand and fun to play, with some really good music; It would be cool if the enemies had a little light or indicator around them when you're spotted so you know which one spotted you in the dark.

You did a good job.

The Core by NoobException 2020-04-20T00:29:52Z

Fun game I like the art style, but the ship turns a little to slow making it hard to shoot enemies.

Passing Flame by FallingFlatStudios 2020-04-20T00:12:11Z

@scifi6546 Thanks for the feedback, and i'm sorry you're having performance issues with the game i'll see what I can do about it.

Passing Flame by FallingFlatStudios 2020-04-20T16:40:58Z

@sirtyler Thanks, I've thought the same about the flame right now it just takes a random point and spawns there, and I didn't have enough time to make the enemies go around the wall so they just go through them.

@noobexception Thank you, I'll see if I can get around to changing the game's difficulty.

Passing Flame by FallingFlatStudios 2020-04-21T02:26:28Z

@nipatiitti Yeah, it was either let them go through walls or have them get stuck on them there wasn't enough time to make them smart enough to go around, I really appreciate the feedback.

Passing Flame by FallingFlatStudios 2020-04-21T02:46:43Z

@petrifiedapple Thank you :)

Passing Flame by FallingFlatStudios 2020-04-21T16:31:32Z

@shaolin-dave Yeah while I was making the character there was this voice in the back of my head saying this character seems familiar. Also thanks for the feedback.

@vawer The sound fxs were a last-minute edition so there wasn't much time to make them sound right. But thanks for the feedback.

Passing Flame by FallingFlatStudios 2020-04-22T16:35:20Z

@peachtreeoath Thanks for the very helpful feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed it. **Also a tip:** the monster can't infinitely see you if you can get out of there range they will just patrol the area.

Passing Flame by FallingFlatStudios 2020-04-22T19:04:04Z

@izhvaryag Thanks :)

@j-fret I'll take note of the monster speed, Thanks for playing and giving feedback.

Passing Flame by FallingFlatStudios 2020-04-22T19:45:08Z

@rkhadder That's a really good idea for the gust monsters, Thanks for the feedback.

Passing Flame by FallingFlatStudios 2020-04-22T21:21:40Z

@hare-software I'm glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate the feedback; There are quite a few issues with the enemies that I wasn't able to fix in time for release.

Passing Flame by FallingFlatStudios 2020-05-04T15:27:22Z

@ptsnoop Yeah the jam submission was really rushed the post-jam version fixes a lot of the originals issues. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Dragon Egg by Heiach 2020-04-25T01:11:42Z

Nice game; I like the retro style art and the music is really good.

Keep Hope Alive by Vawer 2020-04-21T18:43:30Z

It has a nice mood with great art, Good Job.

The Keeper by petrifiedapple 2020-04-21T04:10:58Z

It took a little while to figure out what to do, but after figuring it out I had a good time.

Outbreak Control by HammerCar 2020-04-21T02:45:57Z

Very addictive and fun, though the game would randomly lag on me for half a second; don't know why.

Cute Noms by Qyr 2020-04-21T01:00:30Z

This game is very charming, it feels like pikmin except you're feeding the friendly creatures to the giant monsters.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Upventure by javicepa 2020-10-05T14:25:40Z

The music reminds me of old genesis games so that's a plus for me, The length was really good and the controls were great. My favorite thing is the 2d 3d style that's the best. Good Job.

Progress. by AidanMarkham 2020-10-06T00:45:22Z

A very cinematic feeling in this game which I love, I like how you have to give up some movement in order to progress. And in general is a very nice feeling game, with smooth controls and a nice jump I also think it fits the theme very well. Great Job.

Looping Dancefloors by dkdwrek 2020-10-05T02:06:56Z

Good music with an easy to understand mechanic I like how the music gets more intense as you go; Level three almost gave me a heart attack. Good Job.

Stuck on a Hyperloop by indigo 2020-10-05T02:26:43Z

Cool, there was a bit of slowdown but the movement was good and I think the mumbles and voice acting were a nice touch. Good Job :) P.S can I have my arms back it's hard to type without them.

I Can't Get Anything Done by Dis0rder 2020-10-07T02:26:34Z

Good Job, My favorite part was the intro it gives off a very early pc vibe, coupled with the music and control's make for an excellent experience.

Lost Flame by LethalTurtle 2020-10-05T22:51:26Z

Pretty good my favorite things are the shadow clone creatures and the slingshot mechanic. Great Job.

Temporium by Untitled Studios 2020-10-05T02:13:54Z

Smooth controls it's also giving me some portal vibes so that's good the music was very much so a pleasurable sound. And the all-around feel of the game is solid. Good Job. Edit: The time reverse was a very clever mechanic I love it.

Loop Back to the Future by Lex 2020-10-05T02:42:17Z

This reminds me of those electric cars the ones where have two and you would race them, this brings back memories. Really great game with solid controls. Great Job.

Edit: It was these toy cars. car.jpg

TRiXIT by tulipekoni 2020-10-05T01:55:28Z

Nice, the music has a very funky beat to it, the background is also really cool. The controls are very snappy I did have some trouble with the wider turns. But a very good experience in my opinion.

Beyond Death by Trypants 2020-10-07T22:39:40Z

Fantastic job, I think the idea works really well for the theme. And would love to see more from this team in the future.

Hung On Justice by Raphiell 2020-10-07T22:50:38Z

Great game, Smooth controls with an Innovative mechanic. Just a great game all around. Keep up the good work. P.S My player as transcend this mortal world and is going to the void. title.png

Hung On Justice by Raphiell 2020-10-08T00:39:16Z

@raphiell It's near the beginning when you jump over the cliff part if you hit the right side of the cliff just right you go through the death barrier 01.png02.png03.pngtitle.png

Party Pooper by Bibicio 2020-10-06T23:24:19Z

Great entry, the art style is amazing the controls are nice. The only issue is that there are no sound effects which I think would add a whole other layer to this already superb game. But all in all a great game.

The Nightmare by SaltFactory Studio 2020-10-05T15:19:47Z

The atmosphere mixed with the sound design and music gives off the perfect ambiance, It has a very slender man and maze runner feel. I was freaked out the entire time. Good Job.

Rock Slide by FallingFlatStudios 2020-10-05T01:42:17Z

@bradyg Thank you, P.S It doesn't make you a bad person for you are a rock and the rock does what it wants.

@indigo Yeah I Wanted to make the background and foreground more apparent but didn't have enough time. Thanks for the feedback.

@untitled-studios Thanks, I take pride in my people crushing mechanics.

@tulipekoni @dkdwrek Thanks :)

@gorr Thanks :D. The doggo was a last second edition glad you liked it.

Rock Slide by FallingFlatStudios 2020-10-06T23:31:21Z

@bottini Glad you enjoyed the game. I also noticed that glitch I thought I had fixed but guess not. Thanks for the feedback.

Rock Slide by FallingFlatStudios 2020-10-07T14:25:37Z

@blind-lemon-games The feedback is very much appreciated Thank you.

Rock Slide by FallingFlatStudios 2020-10-07T18:50:14Z

@avatargreggles Thanks

@enzoup You know the say "you can't make an game without squising a few people".

Rock Slide by FallingFlatStudios 2020-10-08T14:09:51Z

@super-hadoken @discoreunion @fachscahfttf @julienlussiez @raphiell Thanks i'm glad you enjoyed the game :).

@acuriosity Thank you for playing. Yeah the bouncers are a bit buggy there wasn't enough time to fully play test them.

@peachtreeoath I deeply appreicate the feedback. It is meant to be an obstacle I think that it's just a little to random.

@ms-annotation-x Thank you for your in-depth feedback. I didn't really focus on the score too much with the game it was a last-second edition so there are a lot of areas you can do that. And the bugs I know exist just wasn't enough time to fix them.

The Closed Gate by EnzoUP 2020-10-07T22:21:50Z

I really like the mechanic, that coupled with the smart reuse of the level gives off a really good experience, Good Job, and keep up the good work.

Mazed Robot by Martin183 2020-10-05T22:42:57Z

Neat game, I do think the jump should be higher. Love the way the camera turns around corners. You did a good job.

Ouroboros by FlatKiwi 2020-10-07T22:33:40Z

Wow, this game is beautiful, and I love the switching mechanic favorite part of the game. Keep up the amazing work.

GravLoop by AvatarGreggles 2020-10-07T18:43:11Z

Solid controls with a very fun mechanic the jetpack was my favorite part. Exellent Job keep up the good work.

Disco Loop by DotSquare 2020-10-07T22:03:44Z

Nice game, I love the Tetris like graphics, and I think with some tweaks this game could be even better; keep up the great work.

Have I Been Here Before? by BradyG 2020-10-05T18:41:18Z

That's a really cool mechanic Great take on the theme. I'd say the jump is a bit too heavy. But besides that, this was an excellent experience. Good Job.

Something to Tell You by Blind Lemon Games 2020-10-07T14:46:01Z

An interesting experience and a really polished one, The models and voice acting are really good. I honestly was expecting a jump scare when I first was in the hospital. All I can say is that this was a breathtaking experience.

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Fire Escape by Dj Depressive 2022-04-08T18:22:13Z

After running away from my crazed employer for what feels like years, I think I'm finally safe from his boot wax-laden meat shovels. Behind these four titanium-lined walls, no man nor creature will ever have the strength nor the ingenuity to viciously rip open the doors and grotesquely tear me apart. I shall phone my family posthaste to notify them that their father is coming home, and my son shall have that guiding hand that he has so desperately yearned for all these long years. I am finally at peace.

**THONK!** hand.png

Blizzard by FallingFlatStudios 2022-04-05T00:18:12Z

@kbf123 Thank you I'm proud of how my game turned out visually, but that left me with very little time to flesh out the actual game mechanics. I'll add some obstacles to ramp up the difficulty before the jam is over.

@woahitsjeff Thank you. I don't blame you for being a bit confused I didn't put much indication about the main objective into the actual game.

Blizzard by FallingFlatStudios 2022-04-06T18:37:02Z

@iva1 Thank you!

@noskro Ya, originally there were no obstacles at all, ergo there was no challenge at all; looks like I went too far the other way with difficulty. Thank you for the feedback, and I'll definitely focus on game mechanics over visuals next time.

@ReRonin Thank you! they are definitely tough to get through probably should have allotted myself more time to work on them.

Blizzard by FallingFlatStudios 2022-04-08T17:28:37Z

@lupercalia Thank you. I'm what most people would call a novice with pixel art and sound design, (I major in programming more than anything). I'm always trying to find that sweet balance of game mechanics to visuals for game jams, so it's always appreciated to hear how I've done.

@aka-black-dog Yep, I've found that jumping as late as possible, and jumping up with the grounded triangle, (kind of like your walking on the air above it), helps with making those treacherous jumps. Thank you.

@amkingtrp That's an awesome idea that fits perfectly with my game, I just wish I had thought of it (far better than arbitrary spikes), some frosted creature that hungers for either the cherries or the muffin animals. The monsters could even be the inevitable aspect of the game slowly moving towards the cave for the young muffins only held back by juicy cherries. I'll make a note of that. Amazing idea thank you!

Blizzard by FallingFlatStudios 2022-04-09T17:33:23Z

@thomz12 I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'll add "space to jump" to the description, thank you for telling me, and to answer your second question that's most certainly the end.

Blizzard by FallingFlatStudios 2022-04-15T06:10:10Z

@tete Thanks for the input. I've been getting quite a few responses regarding the spikes definitely should have play-tested them more.

@Mavvy Thank you! I put the most effort into the visuals, probably why the game mechanics are so unpolished. I'm not as experienced with variable jumping, (I've always had issues implementing it into a game jam), but I'll definitely look more into it and implement it into future game jam games.

@grumpy-gecko I'm glad you enjoyed my game! Sound effects and particle systems are not my forte, so getting any feedback I can is extremely appreciated. Thank you!

Blizzard by FallingFlatStudios 2022-04-16T04:07:36Z

@simplepotential Glad you enjoyed it. I tried to make sure the sprite explosion particles were as close to the original sprite as possible to create a seamless transition.

Un-Rooted by Denhette 2022-04-08T06:27:04Z

I'm not going to lie; there was a little doubt going into this game; I didn't know whether it would live up to my mountainous criteria for anything concerning media. But, after a few minutes of getting to know the controls, mechanics, and witnessing the act of John Krasinski getting de-atomized by Shrek through sheer willpower, the game really started to click with me, resulting in an experience I soon won't forget.

Don't forget to say hello to my new sleep paralysis demon.

10/10 Nothing will make the screams go away.

Future me problem by noskro 2022-04-07T18:32:04Z

Amazingly creative, the simple joy of arranging trash is beyond comparison. I eventually stopped trying to fit garbage into the bin and started creating structures, trash fortresses, and towers, all doomed with the same un**floor**tunate fate.

10/10 would get divorced again.

Bomb Digging by tete 2022-04-15T06:24:44Z

I'm a big fan of the strategic game entries, where one item could mean the difference between winning and losing. Combining that with the Atari aesthetic and sound design provides the bonus cherry on top that makes this entry that much more special. Excellent game.
