Whoooo!
This is seriously disturbing. Good job!
Wow, this relly hurt. A really beautiful and unique game, that touched the right cords out of me... just wow
Even though... I think I broke once, as I jumped over the corner and everything looped... I can say I really got the theme, lol.
This... was very strange. Cool!
I needed hug after playing this. I mean that in the best way. I like the dark mood and theme. Really creative!
Wow, what a feverdream and a nightmare, I love it! Fantastic video effects and phenomenal voice acting! Absolutely up my alley! Oh and thank you for not jumpscaring me (for some reason I predicted something along those lines...)
Very intense, great voice acting. There were some times when the mouse sensitivity was extremely low and I couldn't figure out why. Overall, great work.
@sean-holloway thx sean. We set that sensitivity low to play on the 'stuck in bed' vibe. Same reason we inverted control scheme during 'real world'. Was this artistic choice offputting or immersion breaking?
weird game, I'm speechless. It was not a game, it was an experience. - Great graphics - Weird collision detection - Good mixture of reality and fever dreams - overall
@blind-lemon-games I would say 50/50. When I was stuck in bed, it made sense, and at that point I had contextualized the vibe of the game. However, in the first scene in the real world, I didn't know anything about what was happening yet so I assumed the low sensitivity was a bug. If there's a way to make it clear that it's intentional without having to change it, that would be the best of both worlds.
Overall, really great stuff though.
@sean-holloway thx for the feedback, yeah LC and I were talking about that senstivity and audience reaction and didnt come to a clear conclusion on how to approach it. Just replayed it, yeah that first office scene its on the "too low" side for sure. Had fun in your orbital golf btw. nice little thing there.
Wow... just wow. Great game, awesome mood. A bit strange at some points, but still great :D Big thumbs up
I liked your game my congratulations, I also did one if you want to know, and give me your feedback I am very grateful, this is the link https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/resurrection
The dream state with it's weird audio, messed up textures, and deliberate rendering artifacts really was a vibe. Also loved the voice acting! Great job!
Damn, I'm shattered. This one hits hard! The sense of helplessness is almost overwhelming. Really really well done! You got a lot of modelling done in a very short time. The singing in the background was soothing and unsettling at the same time. Because it is really nice when some one sings to you... but when you are struggling to breathe... wow.
Very interesting game. A tiny bit disturbing at times but on purpous and very cool effects. Playing around with collision and the mouse at times was a nice idea.
It would be incorrect to say I enjoyed the experience, but I loved the game!!
I'm tripping. What was that?
Very interesting game. It seems to fit the theme. Nice.
An interesting experience and a really polished one, The models and voice acting are really good. I honestly was expecting a jump scare when I first was in the hospital. All I can say is that this was a breathtaking experience.
Interesting and emotional idea, i like this real, good job!
Well that was weird... I love weird!
I don't fully understand what happened but damn what an experience that was
Just...great. More like a poem.
@curly, @valentin-roche , @nolife-m >>Glad we had an impact. Any criticism? Areas to improve?
Top marks for audio and mood! Really memorable experience, I really liked this little game.
A very interesting narrative, the parts where you could actually move around though were really strange and I ended up falling out of the map multiple times which made the audio less impactful. Overall very interesting.
@blind-lemon-games Maybe 3d sickness would be a problem, but I'm ok with this.
Yeaaah, a great experience, unsure of what this all meant but I liked it. Maybe a little more obvious hint would be nice to implement there or just something to clutch on?
Really cool and creative experience. The singing was beautiful and added to the overall experience, although I'm not sure what the story meant or symbolised, but as far as I gathered, my American accent son didn't like me very much :( but at least my non-american accent children seemed to like me :)
I also liked the subtle addition of the hand sanitizer in the beginning, very à la mode.
When the ghosting effect hit during the dream sequence, together with the slowed down audio, I thought my pc was crashing or something. Which was really quite brilliant.
However, as others have also said, I'm not a big fan of the low sensitivity and inverted controls, as well as the incredibly low FOV in the first two scenes, which made me feel quite motionsick. The dream/coma effects could also have been done better imo, as they felt more like random textures, splattered everywhere, instead of a trippy sequence. Lastly, I felt like there wasn't much game to it, as there were barely any interactable objects, so it felt more like a slightly interactive movie than a game, to be honest.
Sorry, if I come off a bit harsh, it's not my intent, as I genuinely do like the game, I just think it needs a bit more polish :) Great entry!
PS: I think slightly low sensitivity could work for the bed scenes, as that makes sense, look at MGSV's intro for inspiration there.
@gautstafr yes agree 100% with your criticisms. Thanks for the input! it keeps us sane :)
The game that created the most powerful emotions here so far. I touched me. It was something about my grandma, falling in some dream sometimes, sometimes showing that she is listenig. And the last breath. I felt like I really was inside, what an experience, I am literally speechless but full of mixed emotions.
I love that singing, came from monologue and kept in mind. Also amazing how that space "in mind" gets more broken every time.
This is unreal. Thank you for it!
Great idea/story with an interesting twist (this could also be a cool short film..)This experience for sure will trigger emotions! In my opinion it would be nice if I had to follow or go to the voice source like it was @ the first "dream?" but then again I don't know if that was intended. Great work! Good luck
An amazing narrative-focused game design, which I personally appreciate a lot since I always love a good story. Great work on voiceovers and background music/singing.
The direction you explored here is fascinating. Being in a coma on a deathbed, having people come to visit you, not even knowing if you can hear them, telling you things, confessing. Huge potential for creating an interesting, dramatic, and emotional experience.
Low camera control sensitivity I can somewhat understand, although personally, I feel it is an unnecessary hindrance. Controls-inversion was the worst issue for me out of the two, I found it extremely frustrating.
Other than that it is a very cool game, a clear 5/5 for the theme and the mood of the game.
@iodi - happy to hear we had an impact on you and that you appreciated the experience @theodore - Yeah a lot of ideas for the dream sequence ended up on "the cutting room floor." We were talking about following the voice and 'opening memories' in the dream sequences and had to drop the feature cause 72 hours. @candlelight -thanks for input Candle. Helpful!
Your game was played on my stream ( https://www.twitch.tv/ursagames/videos ) on 10/11. Thank you for sharing your game with us! You can find the timestamp of when your game was played here: https://tinyurl.com/yy4oycvv
@ursagames link to Ursa stream https://www.twitch.tv/videos/767654872?t=00h26m29s thanks for the live review! appreciate the feedback (your computer is so much faster than mine! I knew I shouldve "fixed update" on that breathing mechanic)! Yeah the branching narrative part was dropped, seems like you got "bait and switched" by us almost, not the intention (glad you didnt breath. true gamer move :) )...in any case reviews like this make us better, thanks!
That was dark. Loved it.
Nice! I liked the graphics, as well as the audio. Despite being a little vague, it also had a really intriguing story. I liked it. The singing throughout the game was awesome, and it really added to the dark nature of the story. I think the only issue I had was the way you look around in the game. While it sort of made sense for it to be difficult while struggling in the bed, the beginning of the game felt off when one of the axes was inverted and the other wasn't (I forget which axis it was). Overall though, really good game! Well done!
