SNAKE SNAKE SNAKE by Sheepolution 2020-10-07T08:47:05Z
Good twist on a old favorite. Can't really think of what to improve because the original snake feels like somewhat of a perfected game. :D

Best game I've played from this Year's Ludum Dare. 10/10.
Super great concept! Love it. Would love to see it developed more. Maybe some procedural generation?
I ended up streaming this game on Twitch. Very unique concept. I think you got something here. Exited to see if you develop this concept further. The game was just the right lenght.
One of the two best games I've played. Can't decide which one I like more.
Funniest, weirdest game I've ever played. Kinda feel weird right now.
Really great fun little game. Love the humor and art style. Adults only!lol.
Awesome game! Good job. Just need more levels now!
Great game. Try it witha stylus!
Couldn't really get into it. Graphics look really good.
I didn't have fun, even though I don't think I was supposed to. I didn't understand the clues. Suicide is very serious and hard to treat fairly in a jam game. I respect boldness for giving it a shot.
I honestly tried it but I had not idea what the heck was going on. Spent about 15 minutes... read the beginning twice. I felt incompetent.
Super fun. Will certainly play more. Thanks for letting me know about it.
Just include directions in game.
Great premise. Good stuff! Would like the jump to be snappier. Though maybe the slow fall was realistic?
Kinda lot to learn for a game jam game. I think there it a lot potential. I also didn't like getting lost in space... maybe a trigger when you get too far away from the sun would be in order? I can't get back so why doesn't it just restart for me?
I loved this game. I was a bit burnt out on programming after Ludum Dare so I don't think I was the best player. I love the concept.
good stuff.
Interesting controls. I liked it because I'm a game dev but I'm not sure not devs would be into it.
I don't get it!
Really fun game. Super good mobile game.
Love it! Very relaxing game.
I didn't like the song didn't loop on time and the song was also a very short loop. Was a great scope for a game jam. Good game.
Super interesting idea. Maybe make the office a bit more spicy. Add drama or sensuality? IDK.
Super hard game. Maybe I'm too old for this game.
Fun game. Some music and dialogue would really liven it up! :D
Super fun game. Loved it. I did fall through the planet once but I still had a blast.
Sold game. I am streaming now, but I plan to come back and play more.
I would make it so the the timer resets when you get to a checkpoint. Not sure how hard that would be but seems like an intuitive choice.
Thanks @anchorlight for all the feedback. I just started using C# and Unity a little over two weeks ago.. I wanted most of the stuff you suggested but I didn't have the right combination of time and experience to make it happen.
@oaksguard Yes, the down animation was pretty rough, they were all rough but running down was the most rough. I didn't have enough time to draw that much stuff. I was originally intending to make a super low-frame run like original Mario on NES. However, I needed six to make it work and I ended up not finishing many of the things I wanted.
@smiley Sorry no cars. Didn't realize it looked like a racing game. It certainly does. I need a ninja on there or something.
Thanks for your comments guys, I'll certainly check out your games this week. =)
@grizzliusmaximus for clarification sake, I am not new to programming. New to C#. I've done other languages for awhile.
@jin9310 Yes, I originally wanted combat to be the focal point of the short game. It proved to be quite complicated for the scope of the jam for me.
@mikadoh Yes, I am new to collisions in Unity. I have to say that they are not as dependable out of the box as I'd like, especially with physics involved.
@meek-bits @neonalig Glad you like the music. Go follow Kanoa on Twitch. https://www.twitch.tv/thekanoabeatstream
@keithswanger @tricky-fat-cat @celes @andidebob Thanks for complements.
@ramble-house-games Yes Ramble, you won. You are a winner!
@grizzliusmaximus I just clarified because I didn't want to take toooo much a credit. Just a little. ;)
@cyborgx7 @patrickjr Ya, I meant for the combat to be more functional but I got stuck, and I just left the slimes because I felt they were fun to hit. I kinda got stuck with player health, enemy attacks, and enemy AI. Would not have made it on time if I finished that part. Certainy going to be working on that over this month. Thanks for giving me a bit of extra fire on my bum to get me moving.
@harrm Ya, I got a bit stuck on dialogue. I intended to implement choices but I couldn't figure it out quickly enough. I just left some dramatic lines... You are right, it really doesn't make sense. I will get it locked in a bit more as I learn Unity a bit better.
@nicardo @naali @ericbolseiro @robowarrior1982 @roikku @necauqua @mrredbeard @eugenik @codeman1010 @lees-pac @danial-jumagaliyev @snowinn Thank you for playing!
Great game. Hope to play more!
Game hurt my heart a bit.
That rewind effect is boss!
I kinda fell asleep, maybe faster running? More interactable objects. Not sure.
I didn't get too far because of time contracts. My theory is that portal fans will love this game. This game was solid, and easily commercial level in quality.
Got a dizzy from this wild ride of a game.
Loved it. Perfect scope for a Ludum Dare game.
I love it. I would like to see more story elements. I want inside into the crows and their culture.
Super cute. Will play more.
I really didn't get it. Maybe I don't like puzzles games or something. I was pretty frustrated that I couldn't walk on the street. How does that make sense? I don't really like tutorials but I felt maybe one would be necessary for such an unothidox style of game.
Another thing! Who binds the 'J' Key? Is that a French thing?
Amazing concept... Seems like someone would have done something like this but I can't remember ever seeing it. Please develop it further and make more detailed levels.
I'm tripping. What was that?
I wanted to find the monster!!!
Cute and Gross.

Every once in awhile you come across a game that makes you feel incompetent as an indie dev. This game makes me wonder if maybe I should have been a banker or an architect. To think that a work of art like this was produced in such a short time, boggles my mind. You guys are amazing! Thank you for both inspiring and humbling me.
I streamed this game if you want to check the VOD. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004793106?t=00h14m08s
I came back since you commented on my game's page. Awesome entry!!! I rated.
Super interesting game. I love pixel art. I love space. Trying to land a probe was super interesting. Hopefully it's not that rough when we are trying to land on Mars.
My Twitch VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004793106?t=02h19m46s
Super fun and polished. Loved it.
This game made me feel really good about myself. I was also grossed out. It was fun, no denying that. So many jammers trying to make Witcher 3 in two days. Good to see someone keeping it real.
Maybe you could expand upon this concept and insert things into additional orifices in the future. Just a thought. Again, thanks for making this game. Great job.
Check my vod playing this game: hhttps://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004193959?t=01h01m42s
Solid entry. I felt like I was playing Starcraft or Command and Conquest with less fighting. It was also kinda like that farmville game on facebook. check my vod if you like: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004193959?t=01h13m49s
As someone who does a lot of diving here in Hawaii, I felt spiritually connected to this game.
My Twitch playthrough VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004793106?t=02h19m46s
Awesome game. Found myself feeling surprised over and over again. The core gameplay mechanic was very interesting. I like the idea of skimming for words. I could see this being really amazing in a random/procedural generation context... maybe even a form of competitive play with time/scoreboards? Game was a complete idea, yet looms with so much potential. BTW... thanks for no damage mode. Streaming is hard and makes gameplay a notch harder so it was great that I could still see the content without having to get too intense.

Super interesting idea. Reminded me of n64's hey day. The idea of mouse clicks for spells is super interesting and I think would work great with some light action and puzzles. You could probably even make an rpg out of the style of gameplay. Super excited to see what is next for you. Good stuff.

@dna-prob Super good feedback. It really just came down to us not finishing everything we needed. We were down to the last minute. We will make some of your suggestions (and a of other updates) when time allows. Thank you very much for playing. I Will have to be sure to check out your game when I next stream.
@anchorlight hard disagree. while the game has 99 problems...input lag is not one. maybe your computer not working well or something.
ohhhh your on linux!!!! @anchorlight .... Ya we have not thought about Linux at all. Only mac and windows. We did use a very untraditional form of movement... which works better than unity's default IMO. I could see the way we use delta time and stuff working less on unity. Super valuable feedback @anchorlight. Thank you. Also for anyone reading this... I'm not just being mean to this guy. I have a repour with him, and we have known each other prior to the jam. ... Also looks like we got our first review... all one-stars! ouch!
@anchorlight at the point I commented... we had only one rating received and it was all 1 stars.... It was a unique point in the game's history haha. :D
@anchorlight this is getting beyond the scope of our page... I'll PM you right now.
Thanks @roikku
I just wanted to take a second to say thank you to everyone for the feedback on our game. I think one of us have tried to play each of your games. This jam has been a truly memorable experience.
I've decided to release the assets used in this project for free on itch.io. Assets are ready to be downloaded by all: https://mauigamestudio.itch.io/platformer-assets
PS: Don't forget to follow my itch. I have a lot of great projects coming up.

Solid game. It reminded my of lemmings back in the day. Not my favorite style of game but I'm sure lots of people will love this game. Good stuff.
I streamed my playthrough on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004793106?t=02h10m47s
Solid entry. This game is not compatible with ADD but that's not to say it's not a good entry. Check out my playthrough on my twitch vod. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004320749?t=00h20m51s
ADD = Attention Deficit Disorder
Every time I enter a game jam... there is always that one game that blows everyone's mind. I can't say rather or not this will be the highest rated jam entry. If I were the judge, this would be my pick for number.
I streamed the gameplay if you want to check my VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004793106?t=01h55m17s
Roiku does it again. Solid entry. I played on stream and wanted to keep going but I had to stop to allow time to play other games. Was a blast. Super solid. Watch my vod on twitch if you like: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004320749?t=00h00m45s
Super interesting vibes. I like the animated capsule character. I did a Twitch playthrough if you want to check the VOD.

Pretty hard but fun game. I like the idea of getting abilities as you go. While not the most original concept in normal contexts... it's the first time I played a game as a potato. My game was also about food so I feel a bit of kinship with game.
