Super cool! Just wish the player moved a bit faster through WASD while still keeping the dash as it is.

One of the best entries I've seen thus far! Looks great, feels great, and most importantly, it's fun all the way through. My only gripe is that it's a bit hard to understand at first how to open the doors and what the objective really is, but after that it's a solid game. Thought this was going to be an endless runner but when I saw the boss at the end I was positively surprised.
Great game, great job!
Nice game! The movement feels right, the dash is well done, the particles are incredible, main mechanics fun, loved the aesthetics you went to with this project. There were some things missing, like screen shake, more enemy variety (although the boss fight was superb) and game lenght in general, but you did very well given the time limitation. Incredible job, congratulations!

Very well. I enjoyed it. A little more variety in enemies/ their spawn and it would be great. I hope to see it next round so I can vote on it!
Really enjoyed this game. Nice idea and pretty well executed too. The only issue I hit was needed to ALT+F4 the game after death several times because it just kept going.
Really loveed the game. The flow, the music, the shooting, all about it. I fiind it funny that if you move fast enough thru the rooms you can actually see the rooms spawning. I mananged to end my best run in : 02:22. I cannot say anything else besides really nice game. It feels amazing playing from music to movement with the dash to everything. The only thing i can recommend is make moooooore! It s awesome. I will follow you closely and will wait for an update. Keep up the work and go fourth.
Congratulations on this unbelievably polished game as a solo dev, incredibly rewarding and fun. I would tweak the aiming but besides that it's a perfect jam gem to play with a controller!
Looks great, and the feedback on the weapon is really good. But I could not really go far, it is really hard !
Nice game with very pleasing graphics!
Small bug though, of the 5 times I died, 3 times the game got stuck (no fade out, just the camera stuck as is and the snake continuing its path ; no player to control) and I had to kill it with the Windows Task Manager :(
cool game once you figure it out, was a little confused at the beginning
did not see the healthbar of the boss, but i made it after a few trys :)
It seems it doesn't really work well to aim with the mouse so I played with a game pad.
I get the idea it is very cool, and with more mecanics and ennemies I think it would be very fun ! The game is a bit hard to play from the beginning, I don't know if the difficulty increase with our progression. Sometimes the bug don't detect that we are dead.
Congrats for what you've done ! It deserves to be finished ;)
Ooh, a very cool short experience. Like if the Lernie boss fight from Hades was an homage to Shadow of the Colossus. There did seem to be a glitch where if you fell off a platform that was immediately devoured, you'd just be stuck there and have to alt-f4 out. As the game is quite short, even binding restart to R and quit to esc would've gone a long way. Great work!
@ree-rolph @sharked @jojopalambas @kharath this game-breaking bug has now been patched (as per the rules of the jam where you can fix game-blocking bugs), thank you so much for pointing that out! Clearly I didn't test dying enough when playtesting ;)
Glad you enjoyed the game otherwise, thanks for all the feedback!
@kotovnav what platform would you need it ported to? :)
@joedev Sorry, autocorrection) Edited
Very funny, at one point I thought that it would never end because I went through the game more than twice, but suddenly I managed to reach the last quarter, and well the last quarter did not disappoint me when it comes to difficulty against the boss. Great fun and the music goes hand in hand with the visual art. <3 <3
Felt like a mix between Mario54 and Enter the Gungeon. :D
i really liked the aesthetic-feeling of your game. cool, enjoyed playing.
Great Game! Your concept was original and well made.
Really, really cool game! I love the aesthetics! one of the best entries I've seen thus far <3
It took me a few seconds to understand that you must kill every enemy to progress but it teaches you by not letting you leave otherwise. So - good job on the invisible tutorial. The hitboxes on the "towersnakes" seem to be head only which is a bit confusing given that the bullets stay on the same level but i guess it's easier to hit that way.
Another cool entry with the ouroboros as theme - fighting on a literal loop that devoures itself has a really nice touch to it.
Hey, I played your game on stream! Here's the vod if you wanna rewatch; https://www.twitch.tv/videos/765076622
Thanks for submitting your game!
It's a pretty fine top-down shooter with PS1/PS2 vibes. I adore how you packed the theme in the game and made it fun to play. Well done.
Pretty tough, but fun, and great graphics!
Very cool game! I like the snake design!
Really nice entry. Had a lot of fun playing. Sometimes you can get lucky with the spawns and have a run of easier levels. Thanks for the game!
Awesome interpretation of the theme! The hitboxes on tower enemies are very counterintuitive though and caused me a lot of frustration :( But overall this is very polished experience, congratulations on that!
That was really fun! Loved the retro graphics and music. Pacing was a little off sometimes due to the procedural nature, but it added a lot to the challenge and I think it works out fine all things considered. Really solid entry!
Really cool game. Very fun to play. Music and art were good too and the boss fight was really fun. The hit boxes on the guns and health pickups can be improved or use a button to choose when near them because sometimes I didn't get them even after I passed through them. Also, one minor thing, I noticed that one game over screen says that you can use shift to dash instead of space.
Great work overall!! :)
Nice game!! I really like how you approach the theme and overall it's very fun. The graphics were good, and only thing is that maybe th music and sounds could have been better. Good job!
Interesting game with permanent pressure, with some Indiana Johnes vibe.
Thanks for submitting your game for me to play on my livestream!

I like this game! It was a little bit fast in the beginning but once i figured out how it all works it became quite easy. The bossfight is absolutely amazing though.
Nice classic twinstick with a nice twist. The core gameplay was fun, and by the time I thought I had seen everything, you threw in the weapon upgrade choice. NICE touch.
At that point I actually thought the gameplay was gonna be constantly going around a loop picking up more and more upgrades so I was a bit bummed it was only a 1-time thing.
Regardless, the boss fight was excellent. Just the right amount of variety. It was also in a claustrophobic space so it felt extra intense.
Great concept overall with a lot of room for it to grow!
daaaaaaaamn. by far the best game ive played in ludem dare. its so simple to learn, has a great concept, good difficulty level. short time to complete. its poloshed. i love it. this is 5 star for sure. great job. also i liked the main menu.
Pretty Cool game. I think it would have been easier on the game pad.. Great models.. and I loved the old PSX style shaders..
Very tense! The boss looks super cool! And it's a little too hard for me, maybe the gamepad will do better:D
Good game so far until the first couple of walls for me. Maybe I wasn't seeing it but I eventually tried dashing around them (sometimes successful). Once I figure out how to play it a bit more, I'll get back to it. Reminds me of PS1 games.
Second try, worked great after I read the rules of the game (to take out the enemies in order to open the doors) worked good afterwards and finally beat it. Awesome job!
Seriously Incredible! The graphical aesthetic, visual effects, colours, and general 90's graphics vibes (though truth be told it reminded me of the mario 3d lands last level) was all very well done. My only nitpicks (and they are nitpicks) might be that the character looked a little dull and the music didn't quite fit but still, excellent job! Honestly inspiring. I hope you know that!
Finished in 1:27  Really good entry ! Nice art, nice gamefeel ! Congrats !
@lazyalarm @sepee67 Thanks so much, thats incredibly nice of you to say :D
@wakobu Cheers! That's a good time :)
@eskooh I'm glad you gave it a second shot! I'm sorry the in-game tutorial isn't very in-depth, that is definitely something I'm going to address in a post-jam update :D Thanks for the feedback!
@nickykendy I weirdly actually find it easier with the mouse, but that may be because I got used to the perspective? Glad you enjoyed it anyway :D
@spawncampgames Thanks! I'm also a big fan of the retro look :) It does have gamepad support, so if you get a chance to try it with one in the future then go nuts! :D
@peachtreeoath Thanks a lot for your kind words, and thats some good feedback! In my ideal concept for it, the loops would have gone round quite a lot longer before you eventually reached the boss (to really hammer home the theme) but unfortunately with the timeframe I found it hard to balance the speed of the boss / generation to achieve it :/ Glad you enjoyed the boss! Really wanted to end it with something more than a regular bunch of mobs
@poodle-in-need Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks :D
@elysiagriffin Thanks for checking out the game on stream, and well done for beating it so quickly :)
@capt-theo Thank you! Indiana Jones vibes are definitely intended (the little dude you play as even has a lil' indiana jones style hat on as a reference, 'why did it have to be snakes!?')
Probably the game thus far I've had the most fun with. I really dig the art style too. Great job all around.
@telescape2000 Thank you so much, that's so kind :) I'm glad you enjoyed!
This game looks and feels really good. My one big complaint about it is that the room difficulty felt really uneven. The room with the pits and the ranged enemies was dramatically more difficult than any other room type offered, and getting it when the head was closing in, especially multiple times in a row, felt like a death sentence. All of the other rooms were much more straightforward. The boss at the end was fun, though it leaned a little too hard on adds. I really like the aesthetic decisions here. Good work!
Really nice game! Complete, fun and not so easy. Great job!
@piscythe Thanks! That's some great feedback, and I definitely agree regarding the room difficulty scaling and it feeling a bit 'random'. Unfortunately I spent most of my time developing the mechanics for the enemies / room spawning, and only created the 3 different rooms in the game as 'placeholders' to test the system at first (the small room with 1 enemy, big room with 5 melee enemies, and the 'shattered' room with the ranged enemies). I had intended to spend a few hours at the end of the jam solely on 'content creation' creating and balancing a bunch of new room variants, but unfortunately had to dedicate that time to bug fixes and sorting out the UI :(
Thats good feedback though, and I'll refer to it when working on the post-jam release that polishes things up a bit! (Also agree regarding the boss fight, wanted to jam in some extra phases in-between the enemy spawn waves but it was slightly over-ambitious haha)
@lrvstudios Cheers! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Amazing stuff, the visual style and animation reminded me a lot of Pandemonium (PS1 platformer from '96). It was quite tricky at first, but I got the hang of it after a few tries - very frantic and fun all in all!! Not sure if it was just me but there wasn't any audio, I would have loved to hear a retro/PS1-style soundtrack or something
Ah I'm a fool sorry, I had my audio switched off  Great 8-bit soundtrack and FX too!!
Cheers @frozentape! Glad you got the audio sorted out in the end and enjoyed it :) I had to look up Pandemonium and didn't quite get the similarities at first, but I think I see what you mean, especially with the camera angle changes between sections!
Really fun game, I had a blast. Bonus points for the graphics. The style is really lovely and well thought.
GG
Tough little game! Pretty nicely polished but I wish it could have explained what you meant to do a little more, although that's a fault of all Ludum Dare games due to the nature of the jam anyway! The perspective was really nice and it gave me those retro vibes! Solid entry!
@sharks Thanks :) Yeah I totally agree regarding the lack of an explanation / tutorial, I realised post-submission that 'grab the gun and run' wasn't really sufficient :joy: I hope you pushed through and managed to get to the boss fight! Cheers for checking it out :)
Amazing. I absolutely loved it. Took me a while to realize the shooting enemies sit next to the platform, not on it, but once I got that it was simply awesome fun. It felt like an awesome boss-design within a bigger game, and yet also really great on it's own.
Wow thanks @rialgar, that's so kind of you to say! Thanks for checking it out :)
A very interesting game. I liked your interpretation of the theme, its implementation was very good. I really liked the graphics and the sound too. The mechanics of visiting Ouroboros in circles is very creative, that was the part I liked the most. In addition, the controls are very good and precise. It's really fun to try to defeat enemies as quickly as possible. Unfortunately I was not able to defeat Ouroboros, although I believe I must still try to defeat him. Good job.
@vphyre Thanks so much for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and its great to hear you liked the idea :) I'm sorry you didn't get to defeat the Ouroboros yet, but I'm sure you will if you go back to it in the future! Good luck ;)
