The animation for subdued enemies is pretty cool! Maybe you should consider a key different from ALT since when playing on a browser it causes the top menu bar to toggle on/off.
Only played against bots but this was pretty cool!
When I try to download the Windows build, google drive prompts me to request access to the file. This is probably deterring people from playing the game. If you manage to make it truly public, let me know!
@spaceguy99 yeah, that fixed it. Going to try the game now. Cheers!
Very smooth movement, but I got dizzy very fast ahah.
Cool game and levels! The particles make shooting things very satisfying.
I really like the feel of the game, great job!
Too bad I can't play it :(
Cool concept but you have a pretty serious bug. When you start the game the ball hits you and starts moving left. If you don't rotate the paddle and just follow the ball until you collide with it, the ball's movement will now have it's X inverted and it will try moving right. the thing is, your paddle is to the right so it sticks to the paddle. You can just keep moving the paddle left and right without ever rotating it and get an infinite score!
Very cool game idea and great art and music.
Amazing amount of content and polish for 48h, great job! Nice message at the end as well, mad props.
Loved the music on the title screen and the little dancing guy! I always liked mobbing in games that required heavy amounts of grinding like ARPGs or korean MMOs so this felt good. Kinda wish there was more of a visual feedback on when the ball is sucessfully shot and when you can shoot the ball. A visual clue would still require player coordination but would feel better overall, imo. Congrats on the submission!
Love the idea of being able to change forms to access different parts of the map (although you can kinda go out of bounds haha). Loved the parallax on the background!
Game crashes on launch for me in Win10
Nice concept! The game feels a bit hard to pick up since you have to figure out which traps work for which enemies, but that's the point, I think. I just wish that after I killed an enemy with a trap, the next time that enemy appears, an indicator for which trap hurts him would be shown above it or something like that. In the midst of figuring out which enemies are new or not and which routes they are taking it becomes kinda difficult to manage, even when you already know some enemies.
Overall I'd say this can be expanded upon immensely and I think it's a very cool idea worth exploring. Very cool graphics as well!
Wow, very impressed! Like everything about it to be honest. I like how you played with the player's expectations of trying to collect all the coins right away and showing that the order in which you collect them is important. You also have a surprising amount of levels for 48h. Well done!
Big fan of these kind of games!
Well, I have no idea what I'm doing, but this was fun!
Loved it! Although it took me a couple of seconds to realize that the game used WASD controls! I was trying to click the highlighted vinyl with my mouse.
Edit: Never mind, I hadn't read your itch page. My bad!
Cool idea, but I think the "I had to be patient" puzzle could have only 1 section that made you wait instead of two. Felt like I was stuck there not being able to do a thing for a long period of time just to be "punished" instead of rewarded for it.
Really like the music! The concept of the game reminds me of Minit!
I noticed that when you get to the treasure room the game doesn't "end". This is allowing the skeletons to move out of bounds as you can see in this capture: https://imgur.com/a/H6LA1td
Hope it helps and keep it up!
Congratulations on submitting for you first game jam! I think one thing that could make the game feel better would be better collision checking as to improve how the character interacts with the world. Wish I could pet the cat!
Cool idea. I like TD games a lot and removing that static nature of your units is a cool twist. I think you could release multiple waves at the same time during the same round. For example, when you have 5 clockwise and 5 counter clockwise, they could leave the ship at the same time. If you plan on building upon the idea, maybe adding another dimension could be cool, like have multiple floors and whatnot. Kudos on the game!
Like the idea but found it a bit confusing to play and couldn't make much of it, unfortunately.
Published on Itch.io! Very empty page but I need to have some dinner first! Web Build to come! https://cozy-couch.itch.io/tape
Edit: First time using LD. Actually thoguht this was a blog post. Nevermind me.
Updated project description. Source code is now included (yikes). About to update the game builds on Itch.io with some minor bug and UX fixes.
@neonjeff Yeah, I completely agree with you on the text sound effect. It's goal is to be the voice of the characters but since the same character does most of the talking it gets pretty repetitive. I wanted to add multiple sounds for each character voice to introduce some variation but ran short on time. About the morse code, keep in mind that you'll get some characters which don't make much sense on their own since that is only half of the puzzle!
Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
@pekuja @jharler @clemonades @lamasaurus @aterlamia @matt-swieboda @solmir2000 Thank you for playing and for leaving feedback! I won't be updating the game since I think my time will be better spent actually learning how to use Unity properly, but nonetheless you validated a lot of things that I felt about this compo entry and it's good to know that I'm on the right track when it comes to evaluating how the player might feel when interacting with the game.
So despite not acting on it (for this game in particular), this feedback is super valuable from a game design/development perspective.
Thank you!
@ramble-house-games getting the letters is only half the puzzle! You are hinted at what to do during the level's intro text (name of the salad). Thanks for playing!
@fadrikalexander Oh wow, my bad. I was converting the user's answer to lower case before validating it but apparently I forgot to include that back in when I redid the input sanitization using LINQ. You are totally right, thanks for letting me know! I'll fix this today after work.
@fadrikalexander fixed! Thanks for reporting the bug!
