LD46 — Keep it alive

Love the Baby by Myles McCoy 2020-04-20T16:46:58Z

I love the cute 8-bit style. What I love even more is all the small interactions and details in this game. For example, you could just spam food so your baby never goes hungry. However, after a while, food goes spoiled, and will hurt the baby. But the one thing I love most about this game...

is watching the baby get curb-stomped by a literal jukebox.

pod by irwatts 2020-04-20T17:41:22Z

I spent way longer than I meant to on this one. It's just perfect, especially for a game made in 48 hours. The idea is simple yet fun. The objective is as clear as day. The game reminds me a lot of QWOP, in terms of gameplay. The music sounds amazing, too. But the one thing that blew me away were the visuals. The game looks beautiful. The GUI, one of the easiest things to mess up, looks surprisingly clean. Also, the derpy face of the package. The one thing I wish this game had was an easier way to distinguish between front and back legs. This is still my new favorite game from this jam. Good job!

FireKeeper by EntityNull 2020-04-20T17:49:58Z

To be honest, I'm still confused if there was anything I was supposed to do, in terms of gameplay. That being said, the visuals and sound in this game are both just gorgeous. Amazing atmosphere.

Balance ME by Tristan Shatley 2020-04-20T17:57:25Z

A nice, challenging little game. I loved the cute ascetic. I wish there was music, but the sounds made up for it. Great game!

Lost Island by JPiolho 2020-04-20T22:06:09Z

Beautiful pixel art and music!

Link to the Flame by Feferuco 2020-04-20T14:20:58Z

One of the best games from this jam I've played so far! This game is the perfect explanation of why it's so damn fun to start forest fires.

Planet Doom by NNNIKKI 2020-04-20T20:53:29Z

I love this game. The game is extremely challenging, but only a little frustrating. The pixel graphics are great. What I love most, though, is the sound. The music creates an incredible sense of urgency and dread, and the sound effects make every action feel great. Great game!

Ballistica by SimonBeats 2020-04-20T14:04:00Z

My main criticism is learning how to play. It's unclear what each object does at the start. That being said, I love the idea of rotating your turrets manually instead of them aiming automatically like a normal tower defense game. After a few rounds, it becomes a frantic mess of aiming as fast as you can. Losing doesn't feel frustrating at all, either, so that's a plus.

(P.S: The first airstrike gave me a heart attack. :) )

Awesome game!

Spatious Inc. by Svyatoslav 2020-04-20T21:42:01Z

The graphics and audio in this game are both gorgeous. It's hard to understand what the blue and red robots do, but the rest is fairly understandable. Really nice game!

Body and Soul by blabberf 2020-04-20T21:52:43Z

This game wins. No doubt. Every single category. It's beautiful in every way imaginable. I have no criticisms. Just praise.

Seriously though, great game, amazing sound design, and lovely pixel art. Amazing!

The Intern by FlorianB 2020-04-20T21:29:12Z

My main criticism is that I wish you could use WASD to move around. This game was hilarious, although it didn't offer much in terms of gameplay.

Shashou the Panda by Mark Kelly 2020-04-20T14:55:31Z

Thank you so much to everyone who's rated my game so far!

Shashou the Panda by Mark Kelly 2020-04-20T17:15:20Z

@myles-mccoy I love the bamboo idea! Aerial enemies would really help the game too. (And be extremely easy to implement, honestly.) Thanks for the feedback!

Shashou the Panda by Mark Kelly 2020-04-20T17:20:09Z

@nnnikki Thanks for the great feedback. You're absolutely right. I originally planned some different types of enemies and such to vary the game play, but I had to cut them due to scope. (I'm pretty busy, despite everything going on right now.)

As for the Jonas videos, I've watched both already. (I love that dude, he's always so full of energy. ) That being said,

I'm still glad you found the art and music to be nice. Thanks again for playing and rating my game!

Decay by Andrew Roulst 2020-04-20T23:27:33Z

Nice game.

The Dark Cave by Tom Stephenson 2020-04-22T10:29:09Z

I love the style. Immediately made me think of limbo, but this game has a much better mechanic than Limbo. Awesome!

I LIKE FISH! by Rikitaner 2020-04-20T22:14:31Z

The pixel 3D style in this game is absolutely amazing. The game is fun and original. And the music is NOT annoying.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Planet Hopping by Hjalte 2020-10-09T11:17:59Z

Really fun, with some bug fixing, this could be a super cool game! I did get launched into space for about 3 minutes though.

Looper Cooper by Imphenzia 2020-10-06T11:58:53Z

Best 3D graphics of the game so far, but what else did we expect from you? :)

two tapes by Aurel300 2020-10-06T14:10:27Z

This game is just amazing, no criticisms here. Good job!

BLOOP by danman9914 2020-10-05T11:21:11Z

You called MY game sadistic. But how can you POSSIBLY say that with the ending this game has? No, sir. It is YOUR game that is truly sadistic.

Seriously though, this game is absolutely amazing, and to think it was made in 48 hours by one man. Good job!

Tempus Locus by MSiddeek 2020-10-05T13:39:12Z

Link isn't working?

The Infinite Ark by SaraJS 2020-10-09T11:05:03Z

Very fun. I loved the way the interface looks, very clean and readable. Well done!

Zen Loop by scottthoo 2020-10-05T17:16:00Z

This is just beautiful in every way possible. The music was gorgeous. The interface was clean. It was just... amazing. Incredible job, might be the best thing I've seen from this jam so far..

Edit: Seriously, the music is just beautiful. I love everything about this game, honestly.

Hyperloop by R3L0ad1 2020-10-05T17:21:33Z

Dang, I love the graphics. Very well done.

Stuck in a Portal by Dr_V 2020-10-05T15:46:26Z

Pretty fun, good job!

Bloody Baron by Jegus9 2020-10-05T14:07:40Z

Liked it, good job

Loopgun by Andreadbx 2020-10-05T19:25:25Z

Extremely polished for a game jam. Good job!

Chamber by Pedro Medeiros 2020-10-06T13:56:42Z

Great game, good job!

Stuck In A Loop - Veggie Loop Edition by Dwayne 2020-10-05T12:38:54Z

This is probably the scariest game of the jam.

One minute by YorisFresh 2020-10-05T11:32:04Z

Couldn't get the player to move, either I just don't know the controls or the game doesn't work.

One minute by YorisFresh 2020-10-05T12:19:52Z

@yorisfresh Ok thanks, I'll try again.

One minute by YorisFresh 2020-10-05T12:31:48Z

Ok, now that I've properly played the game...

Pretty fun. I liked the idea a lot. The camera felt a little buggy, but other than that, it was great.

Also enjoyed the Pickle Rick joke.

Time Loop by _Kassjak_ 2020-10-06T14:49:39Z

This is really fun, loved the graphics.

Start The Game (Together) by Raivk 2020-10-07T12:50:52Z

Managed to get to 100 quits! Yay!

Robetrotter by Tyrael 2020-10-05T16:58:29Z

Fun simple game, great job!

AXIS LOOPER by Eduard Hauer 2020-10-05T11:28:40Z

I love the puzzle design, it's very clever. I think this game could be very fun if you were to fix a couple of problems with the physics.

StackOverflow by Mark Kelly 2020-10-05T10:46:06Z

@danman9914 I'll take that as a compliment. (But seriously, thanks for playing my game!)

StackOverflow by Mark Kelly 2020-10-05T10:51:45Z

@eduard-hauer Yup, I didn't have very much time for sounds. This is my first time submitting for compo, and I spent most of my time programming. Thanks for playing!

StackOverflow by Mark Kelly 2020-10-05T12:18:55Z

@seskon Thanks!

@p-brighenti Also thanks!

@kevin-du Also also thanks!

@cryptomnesic ...Thanks?

StackOverflow by Mark Kelly 2020-10-05T16:33:19Z

@mikoziq Haha, very funny.

Seriously though, thanks for checking out my game!

StackOverflow by Mark Kelly 2020-10-05T16:55:44Z

@chesschaser Thanks!

StackOverflow by Mark Kelly 2020-10-05T18:47:34Z

@beavergames Thanks! I'll keep that in mind for the next game jam.

StackOverflow by Mark Kelly 2020-10-05T23:48:57Z

@testuser Well, now you can vote in humor. Thanks for playing!

StackOverflow by Mark Kelly 2020-10-06T11:46:50Z

@diego-escalante Me too. (To wondering about the average amount of clicks, not existential thoughts. Then again, I did make this game.)

@toulou Thanks!

StackOverflow by Mark Kelly 2020-10-06T16:02:54Z

@thecakeconsortium No, this isn't how you're supposed to play the game.

StackOverflow by Mark Kelly 2020-10-06T19:37:49Z

@tyrael I think with some jokes, a better story and a cool desktop background this game could have been "There Is No Game".

(Seriously though, criticisms taken. Thanks!)

StackOverflow by Mark Kelly 2020-10-08T01:02:54Z

@initialposition Thanks! It's awesome to see someone's reaction to the game as they play it. (Just so you know, you didn't miss much. Hope you enjoyed my waste of time. )

StackOverflow by Mark Kelly 2020-10-09T00:34:08Z

@fragileannihilator Haha, usually I'm the stupid thing people waste their time on.

Quantum Split by InitialPosition 2020-10-08T01:14:50Z

Really nice! The controls were tight, and it felt very easy to control. The music was really nice too. The graphics were really cute, although the black outline on the spikes looked a little out of place. (Then again, what do I know about graphics, my game was just text boxes. :) )

Loopfield by MikoziQ 2020-10-05T15:51:26Z

Really fun, great job! I think that maybe you should have the shield powerups only heal the shield a little bit, not all the way back to full health. Great job!

Stuck in a Loop by chesschaser 2020-10-05T16:42:53Z

I love the interpretation of the theme, and the game was super fun, too! Great job!

Loop Cut by Quak 2020-10-05T15:38:23Z

Very fun, good job!

LineLoop by Squareworx Studio 2020-10-05T19:32:03Z

Very clever idea, and great controls too. Good job!

I'm not sick!! by YHY_games 2020-10-05T12:47:48Z

Very nice idea! Good job!

Looper - The Last Mission by Coding4rtist 2020-10-05T12:43:56Z

This game is awesome, love the art and sound effects!

LOOPY by Cinar 2020-10-05T11:39:08Z

The player gets offset a little bit every time he touches one of the points. Seeing as you made this in Unity, making the collider for the points would probably make the game a lot more forgiving.

Still an amazing game, especially considering this is your first Ludum Dare entry. Good job!
