LD38 — A Small World

Enlarge your planet ! by LeReveur 2017-05-16T20:39:36Z

I liked the title screen and got excited for the game, but then I didn't know what to do after. It seems to have some good good mechanics behind it, but they feel obscured by the unclear goal. It has great potential! Good job!

Super Tiny Adventure Game by sinclairstrange 2017-05-16T20:53:19Z

Dude! How did you manage to pull that off? Very polished graphics, variety of controls, and lots of content. I didn't necessarily see the theme in there, but it's a good game!

Until Tomorrow by MSiddeek 2017-05-02T12:28:10Z

Thank you everyone for the feedback!

@toulou @spaceman, there should be no problems with the controls. Can you tell me what operating system and browser you are using? Also if you were using the arrow keys or WASD? Thanks!

Until Tomorrow by MSiddeek 2017-05-09T15:22:29Z

@richard-michael-smith It's in Game Maker. And thanks for the feedback! It definitely lacks in mechanics.

NomNom by MaikelOrtega 2017-05-16T20:31:14Z

I liked the art, the audio, and the mechanics. However, the game was a bit hard to get into since I didn't get the rules right away. I only realized that it was co-op after I was stuck for a bit. That's my fault for not reading your description xD Anyways, good job!

Balanced Upon A Turtle by BluShine 2017-05-16T20:26:14Z

Really liked the mechanic, the graphics, and the audio. I also liked that you didn't have to give a long tutorial to introduce the game. The controls however felt a bit strange, especially with the rotating animation on the character. All in all, good job!

Sir Shrink-A-Lot by narve 2017-05-16T20:43:56Z

Very innovative mechanic! I really want to see it developed more. It didn't feel very intuitive to me (or maybe I'm just a noob). But I can see how the mechanics could be used to develop complex levels. Keep up the good work!

tinyArk by knexer 2017-05-16T20:35:14Z

Really good concept! I was amazed by the simple mechanic has for making puzzles. I wish I understood the leader-board screen. The graphics felt consistent and I liked the planet selection screen as well for levels. Nice job!

Small World Clicker by xatulu 2017-05-16T20:48:15Z

I like how the concepts are introduced one by one as they become available. It makes the learning very easy. One thing that confused me though is the waiting times for some of the actions. I didn't get the value behind it. It even made me think that this is a button mashing game, so I kept clicking randomly, but realized that there's bad consequences to that. Really looking forward to how something like this would look if developed more!

LD44 — Your life is currency

Blood Money by Imphenzia 2019-05-20T01:14:55Z

Really good graphics! Gave the game a special feel. Felt like its own universe, not just another space shooter. The destruction animation was really good too.

I'm bad with shooters though, so I didn't get to see what the upgrades actually do. I died pretty quickly :D

Sword of Hearts by MSiddeek 2019-05-01T23:38:37Z

@ditam thanks for the cool feedback! Were stuck because of that bug? I cannot seem to reproduce it. Sorry you had a bad experience :/

@rodstar yes, you can get the sword :)

Sword of Hearts by MSiddeek 2019-05-02T08:27:18Z

@5n1p3r-4r73m1s You can die as much as you want. It's about finishing every puzzle with "no hearts boxes left behind". I should probably make it clearer then!

Thanks for the input!

Sword of Hearts by MSiddeek 2019-05-02T09:42:05Z

@5n1p3r-4r73m1s Oh I'm so sorry! This broke when I fixed the buggy jumping physics. Just fixed the level now. Thanks for bringing it up!

Sword of Hearts by MSiddeek 2019-05-09T18:06:58Z

@jordgubben yeah, I shouldn't have relied on text that much.

@ursagames @elysiagriffin thanks for playing and linking your playthrough folks! Good to see people playtest the game live!

@solifuge your feedack is one of the most valuable feedback I received. Thank you so much for spending the time to do this. I learned so much about what I did well and not so well with my game. I don't know how to express how much I appreciate your words. Thank you!

@cheesepencil this is in Game Maker. And it's not about "not dying", it's about "not leaving heart boxes behind." Did you restart the whole game every time you died?

Sword of Hearts by MSiddeek 2019-05-15T17:14:40Z

@zooid @meskaline I'm sorry about that bug. Thanks for bringing it up! Fixed!

Sword of Hearts by MSiddeek 2019-05-20T15:11:38Z

@duke and @mika-la-grand, thanks for playing and for the feedback! And yes, you can get the sword :)

Sword of Hearts by MSiddeek 2019-05-21T17:05:12Z

@gamefive thanks! What do you mean "the last part's done"?

@strega yes, it is possible :)

Coin Bois by Alchemic 2019-05-20T01:10:27Z

Really nice mechanics. At the end of every level I thought, "this must be the extend of what these mechanics are capable of. There cannot be more new ideas left you can do with it." But I was proven wrong every time :)

Good job!

Island Chain by PTSnoop 2019-05-20T01:21:41Z

Wow! Really ambitious! I'd love to see it turned into an full game one day. Good job!

Coin-Op Kid by Strega 2019-05-03T12:08:20Z

Very solid mechanic. Theme and art supported the mechanic perfectly. I especially like not using HUD to display how many coins you have, but have that information on the player character itself. Levels were of suitable difficulty. Good job!

Knit Worth by ColeSlaughter 2019-05-20T01:54:40Z

I've been hearing about this game a lot, and I was worried if it were overrated. I was wrong! Good job!

Tyrone Leinster's Debt Dream by Rob White 2019-05-20T01:19:16Z

Hilarious animation and sound effects! The dream theme is cool too haha!

I D E N T I F T Y by Psychedelia 2019-05-20T01:36:59Z

I like the writing a lot. I also like how all the characters are surrounding the screen like that. It gives a an eerie sense of mistrust, which multiplies the feeling you want to give with the game. Good job!

Battery Life by Attala 2019-05-20T01:42:54Z

I like how every level introduced a new concept. Gives a natural flow for learning the game. Did not need a the tutorial text. The mechanics and the theme for the graphics and audio matched nicely as well, which is always good. Good job!

Sick Business by very dark lord 2019-05-20T01:53:47Z

Really cool graphics, and audio. The mechanics absolutely fit the theme of being a doctor trying to juggle too many patients + deal with the Mafia. The collision boxes on my character were confusing a bit. I would have also liked the pacing of the game to be slower at first, because I was admitting patients and didn't know what to do next.

Overall, 5-stars!

Coin Puzzles by Mika la Grand 2019-05-20T01:47:23Z

Cool idea and smooth execution! I like how having coins can sometimes be positive and sometime negative depending on the situation. Really good job!

Gather Drone by Vimlark 2019-05-20T01:58:13Z

Simple neat little game. Would love to see more mechanics in there!

Life of the Party by Madbarron 2019-05-20T01:25:32Z

Really cool graphics and animation! Cool idea too!

I was not able to strategize when playing though. The enemy attacks felt random, so I was never sure who to give more life to. With some tuning, I can see this game becoming its own genre. Good job!

Escape from Hell by Becher 2019-05-20T01:30:21Z

Cool graphics and atmosphere in general!

I was doing something wrong probably though. When I die, I'm asked to press B or space to respawn, which does nothing.

limbostore.heaven by Karpador 2019-05-20T02:05:21Z

Really outstanding games. The graphics, the writing, the music, all felt consistent. A mix of humor and sadness that I enjoyed. Rofled at "death by cuddles" :D

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Mr. Cheeks Sweet Dreams by MrTroy 2020-10-13T05:53:55Z

This is hilarious :D One comments I have is that it's not clear what you can attack and what you cannot. Other than that, I really like the graphics. So polished! Congrats!

Time Raider by Almax 2020-10-10T20:44:15Z

Couldn't beat the boss guy, but really cool idea. Great concept, great atmosphere, and great controls. Congrats!

Tempus Locus by MSiddeek 2020-10-07T08:55:41Z

Link was private :( Added one GIF. Will add some description once I'm off work...

Tempus Locus by MSiddeek 2020-10-08T15:55:25Z

The bad FPS is giving everyone a bad experience it seems :(

Tempus Locus by MSiddeek 2020-10-09T21:12:06Z

@a333 I've been trying to reproduce those errors from other testers where the screen goes black or the sound gets muted, but I can't :(

@icxon Thanks a lot for the vid man! Learned a lot!

@mackandrius Yeah a camera definitely makes more sense. I'm sure if I had thought about that I would have gone with it instead. I wanted to do a gun like from Portal but for time instead of space, at least that's how it was inspired.

@mohmehdi I'm so sad about the lag. It just ruined the game for a lot of people.

@marc-antoine-girard I hope you did not give me that rating because you think I'm 18, because I'm 28 lol. You probably found a different person :)

Also, thanks a lot for the feedback everyone!

Tempus Locus by MSiddeek 2020-10-12T22:12:47Z

SPOILER: @crazyrems there's an alternate ending based on what you do on the last monster screen. It might answer that question a little bit :)

Tempus Locus by MSiddeek 2020-10-15T12:08:59Z

@vlandemart that's probably the "bad" ending haha. There's a bit of black screen for suspense and it's pretty much intentional. There's another one if you save the purple guy.

Tempus Locus by MSiddeek 2020-10-15T19:33:03Z

@vlandemart I didn't execute this well then :( One time you avoided the monster, and the other you made him go into the portal.

Tempus Locus by MSiddeek 2020-10-17T02:17:23Z

@honest-dan thanks for playing! I went for a typical story of "ancient weapon in cave, hero decides between the risk of unearthing it vs the peace of sealing it forever". I was intentionally light on exposition to leave room for interpretation, but I guess my execution still left something to be desired :)

Ribbon by 100th_Coin 2020-10-13T04:27:11Z

Short and sweet. I'd love to see this as a complete game. Congrats!

Stuck on Mars by acid 2020-10-11T11:44:36Z

Simulations are hard to implement for the jam I bet. Cool concept and nice execution!

Hyperloop hell by Aterlamia 2020-10-13T05:08:03Z

A lot of content in that one! The narrative is quirky, the graphics are nice, and the sound track fit the game. If I were to nitpick something about this it would be consistency in graphics. Some bits didn't feel like they belong. Overall, great game! Congrats!

Loop Frogs by GaryS 2020-10-12T22:25:19Z

One of the best games I've played this jam. Very polished controls-, graphics-, and level design wise. The two frogs are hilarious too! 5/5!

Lyza's Knot by William Derksen 2020-10-15T09:42:35Z

I can't take horror, and this scared the bleep out of me! Nicely done :)

Time Crash by Gonzalol 2020-10-11T22:13:39Z

Wow! This looks like a polished mobile game! Congrats! The trouble I had with playing it is giving the shapes names in my head, like sometimes I said "steering wheel", sometimes I said "gear thingy", and sometimes I said "spinny thingy". I guess it's a memory game and that's pretty much intentional. Again the graphics, the audio, and the minimal dialog just sell this so well. Congrats!

Unholy Echo by Dizzy 2020-10-15T09:27:47Z

Really polished animation and audio-wise. One thing I would have loved is if the replay loop was shorter. It felt very punishing at times. Love the world though and want to know more of the lore. Cool game! Congrats!

TimeSplitters 4 by BlueCalx 2020-10-13T04:59:26Z

I love anything with time manipulation, so naturally I love this. One thing that made me struggle is learning curve. Even without a tutorial, a good set of levels can introduce the mechanics and build the player's intuition but by bit. Other that that, great execution: Audio, graphics, and controls are all great. Congrats!

Routine by Jammin 2020-10-13T09:01:39Z

Love the doodle art style. Love the hints with the knife, even though I didn't know what E did. The isometric controls were a bit difficult, but eventually got used to them. Overall great game! Congrats!

Hyperloop by very dark lord 2020-10-11T10:18:05Z

Cool atmosphere. Nice dialog. Creepy vibes. Perfect pixel art. Congrats!

Light footsteps after the rain by Chocolat-Endive 2020-10-13T06:09:55Z

So eerie. One of the most artistic games I played this jam. There was a game about a ghost whisperer that had similar atmosphere which I cannot remember the name of. I'd love to see this developed into something like that. Congrats on the cool entry!

Lily The Bee by Vivien Fargette 2020-10-15T09:24:21Z

A bit on the simpler side, but very cute and artsy. Nice poetry you got there :)

Need More Space by wheatleyscience 2020-10-15T09:29:51Z

Took me a while to figure out what the bars mean and how to do the objectives, but very gorgeous graphics and audio. Controls perfectly as well. Congrats!

Hiccup Time by Somogy 2020-10-10T21:00:29Z

Awesome idea! At first I didn't know how it will develop into puzzles, but I see you explored so many cool ideas with it. Really cool!

The only issue I faced is that the hiccup was too fast for me. Also I would have preferred to see one bar only that runs out one time for hiccups, then it would out a second time for the jump. All minor stuff.

Congrats!

Loop Train by OddSocks 2020-10-11T11:14:57Z

Haha cool game! So many games about trains this jam, and yours is one of the coolest I've come across! Congrats :D

LÖÖPS by Tamail 2020-10-13T04:32:58Z

I'm biased because I love cats. Take all the stars! Seriously, I want to see a full cat sim/management/tycoon now :)

Amusement Shark by No Grapes Games 2020-10-15T09:36:44Z

Very simple mechanic, yet so many levels of complexity to the levels. Feels like you explored it pretty well. Nice bit of story as well. I like this! Congrats!

Delivery Boy Forever by civmaniac 2020-10-13T05:41:18Z

One of the best games I played this jam. The graphics, the audio, and the narrative all fit nicely. I didn't get most of the references people are talking about in the comments here, but still enjoyed it :)

Fearcle by Jupperevie 2020-10-15T09:53:22Z

The mood of this is so perfect that it scared the living bleep out of me! Well done :)

One Slicing Minute by Edalbung 2020-10-11T11:54:01Z

Gave me super hot vibes, love the style! The music, the controls, the graphics, all of it is just great!

Stuck in a Soup Loop by Doot 2020-10-13T05:58:55Z

This is so wholesome and cute! I love it! Especially because the audio and the graphics just go so well together. Feels so polished. Congrats!

Frozen Potency by Eugenik 2020-10-11T21:59:39Z

So weird and quirky that I love it :D Graphics and clothing physics are the best! Congrats!

Danger Beat by rhoff95 2020-10-15T09:05:08Z

Cool entry! I would have loved to play with the mouse instead. But nice execution with the beat and the difficulty spikes. Congrats!

Loopfield by MikoziQ 2020-10-13T04:35:20Z

I didn't survive long because I suck at these games, but your game hooked me enough that I tried many times. I still sucked, but nice concept and clean execution. Congrats!

Just Another Day by Chaoseiro 2020-10-11T10:24:53Z

A point and click game about being stuck at home. Couldn't get any better :)

Djinn Alwaqt by JohnDaivisse 2020-10-11T10:57:36Z

Cool puzzles and awesome art! Cant imagine how this was done in such a short time!

Resurrection by etrealjunior 2020-10-11T22:07:49Z

Simple concept and cool execution. I had trouble reading the game because my screen is not perfect, and the fast moving ducks were hard to notice at first. At first I was trying to avoid clouds too, because they have the same contrast as the ducks. But congrats :)

Time Saver by Daniikk1012 2020-10-10T21:22:34Z

Really cool graphics, also controls great! Congrats!

Stuck in a Timeloop by Stefan B. 2020-10-10T23:12:24Z

Really cool concept and nice execution! I love this so much!

Project R.O.O.M by Arad HamidSamiee 2020-10-10T21:14:35Z

Cool atmosphere. Gave me some horror vibes but wasn't too heavy handed. I wasn't sure how to progress tough. I did hear the buzzer ring differently when I give a correct or an incorrect answer, but how do I redo the test? Just restart the game? Also the question counter would say (32/10). Not sure if bug or if I'm missing something. Again though, loved the vibes!

Looper - The Last Mission by Coding4rtist 2020-10-15T09:13:16Z

I really like the idea! I love how the clones look like at the start of each run. It's like a hive of mindless people executing their tasks blindly. I wish the game leaned more into the conflicting orders your receive from your boss, and making death permanent, but that sounds like a different game all together :) As is, an awesome entry! Congrats!

Mike.cpp by shan.hsgames 2020-10-11T11:12:22Z

Interesting idea, and nice execution! I like the screen effects as well :)

Aztec Ride by Idan Rooze 2020-10-11T11:52:27Z

So much work went into this! Simply amazing!

Oops Loops by Samshine 2020-10-11T11:55:02Z

I love this! I want to do stop motion for my next game now :P

LD55 — Summoning

Phasebound by Kepsert 2024-05-04T20:59:46Z

Congrats!
