i like mechanics ! GG !
This seems good, but I'm not really sure how to play. I can only seem to kill one enemy
Liked what I perceived to be the theme and mechanics of the game, and the colour scheme was very nice, but I couldn't figure out how to kill the enemies. Some controls may have been nice.
@colejparker Than more units you kill - than more time you have, sry guys, we didnt make instructions ;(
I enjoy the aesthetic of the game, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to reliably get past the second set of enemies..
@monxtert If u are talking about this dude who is throwing pockets, you need to stand right from him and attack. I think we had to add some instructions, but my programmer went to sleep;(
Cool game
The game looks promising! Nice sci-fi visual style. And the concept of ninja and time is chosen pretty well. But likewise the previous guys - I didn't get how to properly play - I kill 1 enemy and time over :(
P.S. Лайк за русский и за libGdx :)
@dcrdro Actually u have to kill 1 enemy for many times to make your time filled, I thinks that it's my mistake that I made bad balance. P.S. Хех, ну а вообще там сугубо моя ошибка и неоткалиброванность игры, стоило над этим поработать, меня убивает то, что чел, который писал код уже лег спать и я могу лишь смотреть как люди говорят что игра позволяет убить лишь одного юнита(
Hmm, the Windows file doesn't seem to work.
@peace-of-cake-games Strange, maybe you have troubles with java, because it launches as .jar
I really love the character design and background of this game! Your color choices are super good
@jenny-bourke thanx, actually i'm a designer of this project and i'm happy to read that you like it <3
Could you consider adding HTML5 or .exe?
@peace-of-cake-games I'll ask programmer to do this
Thanks @adil !
This is a really neat concept! I like the idea of the game being about limited movement. Although, I'm a little lost on how you get more time. When I kill one enemy, it doesn't seem to add more time to my time bar, so I can barely get past the first person without getting a game over. Is this a bug with the game or am I missing something? Nevertheless, I immediately got hooked as soon as I read your game description, music and graphics!
If it helps, I'm playing on my Mac.
@kaabiikaze Actually killing enemies give you 0.5s of time for the next respawn. Killing enemies do not give you more time in the same round
Mechanics are cool. I had some trouble to understand how to regen' time but you explained it nicely in the comments above. It's not so easy to restrain yourself from moving to much, you have to wait for the enemies to come at you... Nice take.
Pretty cool idea of a game, i like the artwort a lot - looks absolut fantastic
I like the mechanics but i can kill only 1 enemy :(
@enes-ayyildiz Actually killing enemies give you 0.5s of time for the next respawn. Killing enemies do not give you more time in the same round
I couldn't get the jar to run. I didn't have the shared libraries needed by libgdx. Looks cool from the screenshots though!
Looks very nice! At first I died every time, but then I figure out how the mechanic works, the more you kill enemies, the less time you spend. Cool concept!
@dmitrygalias I'm happy you liked this, thanx for feedback!
@macaroni-dev Mark jar as executable in order to be able to run it. If you already have done that and nothing is working, please ensure that java is installed(Recommended version is 8)
Great pixel art! Audios were good and pleasing to the ear! It was an enjoyable experience playing the game :)
@adil
For what it's worth, I'm on Linux (NixOS)
``` chmod +x time-saver.jar ./time-saver.jar ``` Didn't work (it spewed a bunch of nonsense since it's not a proper Linux executable)
I was trying to `java -jar time-saver.jar` and got this error: https://gist.github.com/ramirez7/5f16adb111720b67fd6f6643cf1ac093
``` $ java -version openjdk version "1.8.0_242" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_242-b08) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.242-b08, mixed mode) ```
@macaroni-dev It seems to be an error with lwjdl. Can you please create an issue on github so we can fix it later?
cool atmospheric game, nice graphics) just kill only one :confounded:
@anna-karpova every time when you kill this one, you spend less time and you will be able to kill others :3
@macaroni-dev Do you have libXxf86vm library installed on your system? Install it with ```sh nix-env -iA nixos.xorg.libXxf86vm ```
Will there be an HTML version, would love to play it, looks intriguing, gameplay description as well as visuals (color palette, mix of bg + fg art)!
@nyubi We will try to make a port later
@nyubi We will add it and when we complete this, i will @ you. Thanks for comment :3
Really nice little game - looks great, and the mechanic is cool (good thing I read the comments first or I wouldn't have known how to kill multiple enemies )
my one major suggestion is that you make it really obvious how the game plays. I'm not sure how you'd do that, but overall it was a neat take on the theme and you should be proud!
@dom-harris I would want to fix it, and i even now how, but actually time for development is ended and we can't do this. Thanks for detailed feedback! :3
Great artstyle!
@cz46 thanx for feedback! I'm happy to read that you like artstyle <3
Very great work!
@martin-delemotte thx for your feedback
Cool gam ewith good mehanics!
Loved the art style and design a lot, some enemy designs remind me of Terraria. Good job!
@doctorhummer thx for feedback. I had no idea to use some enemies from Terraria, but actually you're right <3
Love the artstyle!
@valkija Thx, i'm very glad to read you like it!
Thank you, keep up the good work!
@adil Well, that's never a bad thing, no one can forbid inspiration :)
Hey, nice entry! Looks like this was at least some of you guys' first Ludum Dare game, and it's a good one at that! Graphics are pretty epic, even though they are not so detailed the style of the graphics still match together. The animations are also very sweet, so good job on those! They make the game feel a lot more fun. The sound effects are also pretty good.
If there was something to improve, I had a pretty difficult time of getting past the enemies, and didn't manage to complete the whole game. I don't know, if I just sucked at the game, or I didn't spend enough time to kill enemies over and over again, it was still kind of hard to understand. If there was something I might have missed, I can gladly play this again if you tell me what to do! :D
Either way, the core mechanics of the game worked very nicely, didn't have problems with the movement or dashing. I hope to see you guys in the next LD as well, and keep on improving! Good entry guys :)
@raffe Actually we had to improve balance, but we had no time for this. Time outside your sphere is slower then inside, so if you want to dodge attacks of enemies, you shouldn't come to them too close. Summary, there are many mistakes in gamedesign, so gamedesign sucks, not you ;3
This looks really nice, the art style is on point! Sound effects are adequate bu this could really use a pumping soundtrack :) I had some problems figuring out how to play this... My time always runs out, regardless of whether I kill an enemy or not. So I can only play for a few seconds before the game over screen pops up. Am I doing something wrong?
@duke Then more units you kill - then more time you have, so you need to kill first unit for some times. I think that it's a mistake of our gamedesign, but now i can't fix it because of rules of ludum dare
Cool game
@macaroni-dev Here we have fix of your problem https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/time-saver/time-saver-now-probably-fixed-for-linux
Don't really understand the game, but I think it looks cool! good job!
@mumaitron Then more units you kill - then more time you have. You need to kill first unit some times to get opportunity to kill others.
Thanks @adil played again and farmed some enemies this time, I like how you need to think your moves depending on the enemies. will update my votes ;)
@mumaitron hah, i'm happy to know that you like mechanics, thx for feedback!
Good game, easy gameplay, beautiful picture, everything is cool!
@uchkuduk thx for feedback
Great idea, but couldnt manage to play the game, maybe you didnt tweak it right at the end? otherwise the idea is pretty nice and i like the graphics. If you have time, ill apreciate it if you check out our game ! : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/encircled
@black0wl Every time when you kill unit - your time is increases, so you need to kill first unit for some times to kill next ones
@adil but when i played it i didnt get time for killing the first enemy :/ maybe something bugged on my side? PS: tried it once again but didnt manage to get time increase after killing the first unit
@black0wl Actually killing enemies give you 0.5s of time for the next respawn. Killing enemies do not give you more time in the same round
мне кажется, дается слишком много времени, можно уменьшить его. и управление распишите. а так игра крутая!
Good stuff! I love the aesthetic and the way the enemies fall apart into dust when you kill them. The mechanic of time being broken is intriguing
@maxflav thx for detailed feedback, i'm glad to know that you love mechanic <3
Love the color scheme and visuals; great job guys!
Played on Windows:
Very smartly made game. Everything worked nicely and the mechanics were very good. I liked the time bubble - it took me a couple of goes to work out what it meant.
Once I got the hang of it the difficulty was fairly easy but it took me 10 minutes to play which I think is perfect for a ludum dare game.
Graphics were mostly very good and the sounds effects that were in the game were good too although some more would have been nice! I'd have liked a message "You Win!" at the end
Well done
Awesome game! I really love the aesthetic, the gameplay was very satisfying and super fun to play, adding overall time on each kill is a fantastic touch!! Overall, a very cool game. Great jobs
@kazatan thx for so detailed feedback, we would add something like a message, but we were scared about losing time
Огонь! :D
@ellladee Спасибо, очень старались, рады что тебе так понравилось)
Nice concept, execution and graphics. A tad bit too difficult though in my opinion :)
@znurre thx for your feedback :3
Solid entry all around, from the game mechanics to the graphics to the sound!
Great job!
Really fun once you get the hang of it actually, the jump is a bit too floaty in my opinion but everything else was great
I really want to play, but for some reason java keeps on quitting unexpectedly :(. I'm on mac. I'll try to fix it and play the game soon!
Pretty cool! solid entry! still reminds me of terraria, just because of the eyes.
Nice job! I was pretty confused at the start of what I needed to do, but I believe I ended up completing it (if the end of the game comes after killing all the enemies and having the player and crystal disappear). It got pretty fun once I got the hang of it and I liked the artwork, especially the enemy eyeballs. Could use some music as well. Good work!
This is a really cool idea and I love the visuals ! Nice job !
Very nice graphic and game mechanics. Sounds is also nice. I like it!
aight, I diiid have my problems at first, but after reading through the comments I finally killed all enemies and reached the portal. After you get past the initial grind for the first dude, the game actually feels extremely fun, the ninja plays super badass :D Loving it. Also a detail I just noticed waay to late was that your "Action Points" are displayed via your backpack. The aesthetics of the game are btw absolutely marvellous! Love everything about the style you chose. Thank you so much for bringing this game to fruition <3
Would like to see a WebGL version!
A little tutorial for the first kill would have helped so much (time bubble mechanics), but as a person who also has made some games, I know how far down the list that can go sometimes. Overall a neat idea but the frustration was difficult to get past.
@rhoff95 We will try to add WebGL version soon, if we do - @ you
@trexxak thx for so detailed feedback, i'm a designer of this project and I feel happy about you like aesthetic :3
@coding4rtist Thanks for feedback!!
@snowinn I'm glad to know you like an idea! Thx for feedback
@worblir Yes, you're right, you completed the level, thx for playing game till the end!
@beavergames heh, thx for feedback!
@geryon-games we've wrote in comments how to solve this problem, i believe everything will be okay
@sininenblue yes, introducing is a bit boring, but we'll try to improve it in the future!
@steffo thanks for feedback, i'm happy to know you like it!
Love the artstyle!
@euix thx for feedback. I don't know are there any way to add tutorial after time for jam ended, if it's possible to do - we'll add it to make gameplay for future players better!
@trypants thanks for feedback! :3
the concept seemed very interesting but i keep running out of time. tood bad, it looks very nice. thanks for making it.
@paulhocker Every time when you kill any unit you get extra 0.5 seconds for next round, so you need to grind a bit
I like the concept of playing with time and getting time for later while killing. Needs some balancing but overall very good game!
I liked your game my congratulations, I also did one if you want to know, and give me your feedback I am very grateful, this is the link https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/resurrection
Loved the visuals and mechanics, awesome work!
I love the art style and the game mechanics! Clear concept and really fits to the theme! Great job!
@zombiebust3r @etrealjunior @elopesdsj @meowmeowlitclub thx for feedbacks, i'm glad to know that you like concept of the game and artstyle!
A little bit grindy at first, but I really like the concept! The easy restart definitely helped to keep me hooked! The art and mechanic really match, too. Well done!
I really like it! Artstyle, sound and gameloop is solid. I would like the enemy to drop some items that can give me an extra boost, like trying con concatenate attack.
Hi!
I played your game during my livestream today. You can find my reaction here: https://youtu.be/XGmb_ZrYFFo?t=8584
Very nice platformer. Takes a while to get into but super satisfying once you master the controls :D
@initialposition Heh, that was very fun to watch, I know that gamedesign a bit strange, but actually we had no time to add some music and make a good tutorial. I think when we'll release full version, it will be much better to play! Thx for feedback!
@binaryprinciple i have some ideas about boosts too, but for jam it would taken too much time. @hadryel txh for feedback!
Awesome! I love the art style on this. Nice work.
@peace-of-cake-games @kaabiikaze @macaroni-dev @nyubi @geryon-games @rhoff95
Hey, guys! We ported it to WEB! You can now play iy on HTML5!!!
Happy to see there's a HTML5 version! Visual Studio wasn't a fan of my attempts to run the desktop version.
Good graphics and art but time run out very fast even after killing the fist enemy
also, there was a lack of theme
Man, I got as far as the floating eyeballs. Man this game has a very challenging learning curve, was cool once I started getting the hang of it. Definately need to read those instructions first haha.
Interesting game. One improvement I think would help at the very beginning is giving the player a little bit more time to start off with. Once you get enough time to really start getting into the level it becomes a lot more fun, but the first few runs make it a little bit confusing on how you are supposed to progress.
good idea for the theme, also killing using dash is so satisfying
Hey, nice one!
I liked the art even if it was a bit too much of a mix of different pixel size or art style. The controls are smooth, the sound effects are good.
The core mechanic is smart and fits well to the theme, but I felt it was not conveyed efficiently to the player. Without reading the description, I did not understand that I gained time when killing enemies, since there is no visual or audio feedback, and it is delayed to the next loop.
Nice job making this game, I had fun 💕
Nice little game but it's lack of balance. The time run out so fast but we move so slow, 1 time use katana then you die. The range of attack also not clear either, sometimes the enemy die, sometimes we die. Weapon 1,2 also not supporting each other. Maybe weapon 1 has low time consume rate wih high risk but being killed and weapon 2 has more time comsume rate but safer,... Anyway, congratz on your entry. Love the art and animations.
Good idea and pixel art. But i think either i missed something or the game is bugged. I had way too little time and i didnt get more by killing enemies.
Super charming game and solid entry! Fun to play, frustrating and hard when you start but rewarding once you figure out how to play. Even though it's takes some time to figure out the mechanics in the beginning, something about the game makes you want to keep trying and trying for a long time - the neon graphics and pixel art are super pleasant to the eyes and make you want to play, and I love the audio too. Really beautiful game. :)
@helekopeter The time gained from killing enemies is added in the next respawn and it does not affect your current loop. It gives only 0.5s jf additional time
Very fun to play, and the graphics are really nice!
It's really hard tho.
Thanks for the web version! As I said before, really like the visuals, that is the color palette and the mix of bg + fg art. The gameplay/mechanics is really unique to me and fits the theme very well. I didn't quite get the hang of weapon #2 (is there a resource limit?), but somehow that didn't really seem to bother me, as I still had the katana. Also the sound design is really well done, for me the sounds fit well with the "time"-theme
This is really hardcore addictive stuff. LOVE IT but I only killed 4 enemies.
Like this one. But I would recommend you next time keep some consistency between background and foreground styles. Mixing vector art and pixel art is not the best choice IMHO
I couldn't figure out how to play. I think it's too hard too soon. It looks good though, I like the color pallet.
Fantastic!
It's difficult trying to figure out how to play. Most of the time I couldn't even kill one enemy. Perhaps a demo video could be made to explain the game?
@peace-of-cake-games we will later create a tutorial, but if really want a demo video, consider watching this: https://youtu.be/XGmb_ZrYFFo at 2:22:56
Thanks!
Cool theme, but it took me a while to understand how to play. It would be nice if there was a clever differentiation between "Time is up" and "Death". They look very similar.
Thank you @daniikk1012 for linking the video. It gave me the chance to understand the game mechanic. I was completely lost and frustrated.
With a tutorial and a scoring system, this could be an awesome game.
I liked the design and colors. Dashing through enemies is fun. I didn't really use my "potion" ability.
Cool mechanic after I got the hang of it. Like the graphics also, and you fit the theme really well. The available time in numbers and some music would be nice tho ^^". Great work!
Love the art style and the mechanics. Good Job !
It's a promising concept but too hard to understand without instructions. I saw the gameplay video and it's clear now. Anyway, great graphics, I love how enemies disappear when you pass through them with the katana.
The game is really fun! Too bad there is only one level :-(
Well the base mechanic of getting more time to your next try should have been introduced (or at least hinted on) better. Or not better, at all really. Had to go back to read the description on what the hell I was doing wrong. And I guess that was nothing, the game just needed a too big of a grind to get going over the first hump.
The look was pretty hit or miss. There was a clear mismatch of two different styles, pixel art for the characters and cleaner vector style for everything else. Of course such thing can work too but here it seemed like just like a bit too big of a leap to me.
The design of the main character was pretty cool. Nice touch that the available time was also represented in the tank or whatever that was supposed to be. The dashing frame could have gotten some more love, I think it was just one of the walking ones right now. Something like make him lean forwards a bit more and give the sword some movement too.
The enemy sprites paled in comparison, they looked quite messy. And especially their potion throws looked janky as hell. The eye enemies looked pretty. The enemies overall could have used some animation love too.
No idea what is going on this end scene though...
Screenshot 2020-10-09 at 16.52.16.png
The game controlled pretty nice. Especially late on the level when you start jump dashing and chain killing the eye enemies, it was quite fun. The second weapon felt completely unnecessary. Mainly because it was too awkward to use. Having the throwable bound to another button would have made more sense.
The goal of the game wasn't very clear either. Of course it wasn't too hard to guess but having one harder to kill enemy (I even though it was just decoration) at the start was just a dick move really. Having to do a complete new run because you didn't realize that was not too cool. Well, it was quite short anyway.
Screenshot 2020-10-09 at 16.50.38.png
The sound effects were not great! Only few sound effects with no variance started really getting old fast. Especially that long deafening screech siren on death/spawn really starts getting annoying. And there was a bunch of stuff that didn't have a sound effect at all, really made these action seem insignificant. More feedback overall would have been nice. Like some sort of flash or other type of hit registering effect would have helped in the case of the "immortal guy" in the beginning. Stuff like that overall (screen shake too) would really help sell the weight behind all actions.
Anyways, good job!
@antti-haavikko I'm very happy that you left so detailed feedback, we will learn many things from this project and your recommendations will help us to improve next projects! Thank you for this man!
Really fun game to playy! Loved the idea and how you managed to relate it with the theme
Also it is nice when you have lot of time and you can like kinda fly pressing space lot of times in the air hahaahah
Something I noticed (idk if it is a bug or if it is it intended tho), is that no matter how much time you have, the bomb will always cost you half your time, so you can only throw it once. Maybe it would be could to have the chance to use it more when yo collected more time
Really enjoyed playing and loved the artwork! Sometimes the controls or the hitboxes of enemies felt a tad off but other wise the game was incredibly well polished!
Interesting gameplay, and the art is good. Well done
A tutorial would be welcome, I am not quite sure how to progress.
I tried a bunch of times, but I always run out of time pretty quickly. Otherwise the game looks good, congrats on your entry !
@arscene upper in comments you can find video about how to play, start watch from 2:22:56 https://youtu.be/XGmb_ZrYFFo
My timer doesn't fill when I kill enemies, unfortunately always died after the first enemy. I played on html5
@eusekerci Every time when you kill an enemy you get 0.5 sec for the next round, we wanted to add a tutorial but had no time
I just finished it! Stylish gameplay and unique idea! Maybe it will be better to display the timer number, so that player will know that the timer does increase... ^_^
Nice graphics, really cool idea. I figured out how to kill the first 3 enemies, but ran out of time after that. I'm not sure waiting for enemies to come to you as a mechanic is a great idea. As a ninja I want to dash around (your dash animation was really cool, btw).
I love the color palette and dash effect, it's very difficult at the beggining, but a good stuck mechanic, Nice job!
Alsoo so nice you made it multiplataform!
Really cool graphics, also controls great! Congrats!
Cool little game. I had to read the comments to figure out how to kill multiple enemies, but once you get it, it's fun.
A lovely one, the color palette is great :) The mechanics are nice too. I was a bit confused at first, because killing first few enemies took several tries. I would like there to be a *visual indication at the top bar* when player gets extra time - and also when there's no energy for the second weapon, although it was pretty useless anyways. All in all, good entry :)
Just don't waste movement and you will play well. It's not very clear but it is a very cool mechanic. Our brain just tells us to move right and we waste our time bar (Maybe better off being an energy bar as may prevent the running) But it is a ninja game so of course you stealth through :) reacting to enemy attacks was fun. Giant ninja though, was waiting for Godzilla to appear since the ninja is about as tall as the buildings. Nice art too and cool use of music. Cool game overall
Very cool mechanic. It is really fun and surprisingly tactical to play. Reminds me a lot of Katana Zero. And this is a a very good thing. The graphics are really great. The theme was followed very well. I didn't love the sound effect at the beginning of each loop, a bit too sharp for me. But then again it fit the game very well and was reminiscent of Blade Runner. All in all - a great entry!
I've already mentioned that I really like the design, and i made a small drawing. Thank you guys for making this game!
image_2020-10-13_133841.png
@doctorhummer WOW! I love ludum dare' community so much, but I didn't expect that someone will make art about our game. Thank you for this and your drawing skills are great, I'll use your work to make poster for the game, thx u very much!!!
@adil That would be lovely, sure!
The idea is cool, but it needs a lot of balancing.
You start off really slow and at first I wanted to see if the game could be played without reading the how to in this page, and sadly can't. You should make it more clear about the time gain you get, because after 3/4 attempts I was a bit clueless and therefore went back to read the how to. It's not a huge problem on a jam because you can put the how to in the main page, but I like more when the game can explain itself without reading too much.
I also had problems with using the sword at the beginning, and I guess it was because it took me a bit to realize the time was related to it too, maybe a feedback to specify why you can't use the ability would be nice! The second skill was a bit useless, I mean it has its purpose, but it cost so much you can use just once =/
The pacing was off sadly (probably the biggest issue related to balance) it takes too much to be able to do something more than kill the first enemy, and even after that you require a lot of repetition. I guess the feeling of being stuck in a loop was there lol I managed to keep going and complete this, but I definitely was bored after a bit.
I liked the sounds you used for the various actions, they fit the game atmosphere. The dash/katana gives a good feeling (sound, visual, speed) and moving/killing with it was nice.
Sadly, you get too many different visual styles, the ui, the background, the sprites, are all different. It's not impossible to make the stick together but is hard for sure. The setup/stage was not bad, it was just a lot of different styles all together.
Overall, is a good starting point, and with some polish could become way more fun.
loved the game mechanics, enjoyed playing
@doctorhummer we updated cover image with your drawing, thx u very much for this!!! @toccio94 we will publish new beta version soon, and we will use your recommendations, thank you for such detailed feedback!
Fun factor is not high at this game, but maybe next time you will think more about that and it will be better. Thememaster, thats you are, fit into the theme. Average art design, next time will be better. Amazing audio, I like it, really.
The game is neatly made, demands multiple tried to get anywhere and an interesting game where every action has a risk and a reward. The art style is good but felt a bit inconsistent and the sfx is spot on for a jam!
The balance of the game could be hard to maintain so kudos on making it playable for a jam.
Congratulations on the entry and all the best!
@toccio94 @eusekerci @arscene @antti-haavikko @peace-of-cake-games @ismael-rodriguez @helekopeter @tqv5964 @sirred @pradhuman @paulhocker @black0wl @mumaitron @duke @raffe @dexort @dom-harris @anna-karpova @enes-ayyildiz @kaabiikaze Guys we've released "Balancing update" and now you can play it without troubles, hope you'll like it!
Thanks @adil ! I'll check it out later!
I needed 104 seconds this time. You've managed to balance it pretty well, now it's a lot more enjoyable and the pacing is way better, you start faster, it feels more dynamic. I liked a lot that you made the eyes killable only with the spheres (and maybe behind with the katana? not sure), now they have a purpose, and being not so expensive made me use them more.
It felt very nice to use a katana, then switch to sphere to launch 1-2 of theme to kill some eyes, then back to the katana. This time I truly felt like a ninja because I could move more and I could feel the increase of time in each run (more or less).
Now I can see potential in this, with more complex levels and more enemies so you have to move more to avoid and kill without getting hit.
Maybe two other things that could be improved are: 1. Having two buttons for katana and sphere, because having to switch is not the best 2. specify that when you kill a guy that it gives you more time, the simplest way could be to add a temporary +seconds near the timer when you kill that increase the max, but it is the simplest solution, not the best one for sure. This way I would understand very clearly how to go on.
Very well done on the balancing, and I'm glad to know you are putting effort in this to make it better =)
@toccio94 Thank you for your advice, yes, we thought about these improvements and will add them later.
Great job! Once I got myself up to 60 seconds I could go crazy killing enemies! (60 seconds.... 😂 not impressive!)
I enjoyed that, once I figured out how to kill enemies as like a lot of people didn't find it very obvious :P After that the game was challenging but really fun :) I really like the art style and colours you used :)
Ok this game was super hard, but I enjoyed figuring everything out, and beat the game eventually :)
What I didn't enjoy is that is has some super frustrating aspects too. Mainly, I dislike that my first 10+ tries I don't even have enough time to beat the level, and I lose without it being my own fault. I'd call this "the bad kind of difficulty" and bad design. It should be possible (difficult, but possible) to beat the level on the first try. Right now, sure you have an interesting mechanic, but I'd say it isn't worth killing the fun so much.
Also one more frustrating detail - it's not always possible to use the projectile (weapon 2) and I can't figure out why... Does it recharge on killing enemies, or on cooldown, or...?
Anyway, this game sounds great and looks even better - I love the psychedelic vibe, reminded me a tiny bit of Hotline Miami. I was very much missing music though, some great synthwave would have been perfect!
The katana (weapon 1) is super satisfying to use, and the slash attack looks amazing. This game would do even better with even more juice.
Good job on this game! :purple_heart:
I love the pixel art! The game was fun and SUPER challenging (like, 1 hit kills you, ouch!) I played through it until I got the portal to close, but then nothing happened. Did I break it, or is that the end?
@rubixnoob13 If u completed the mission (got the portal to close) you destroyed the game). Actually, we added victory menu and soon we'll release new update with some new features
Right! I played the original release to give proper Jam feedback. Guess I should go play the updated version now as well :)
@rubixnoob13 I mean we added it to unreleased update, but today we will release it and i'll @ u
@rubixnoob13 actually you can try it now, we did it pretty fastly
Nice feeling of progress, It reminds me of a incremental game. Really tricky and so well done. Congrats!
Nice game, even if I agree it's a bit mysterious how it works (in the jam version at least). Once you understand the game, hitboxes are a bit unforgiving and I didn't understand the thrower unit could be killed, but the aesthetic is really nice. The incremental mechanic has some potential as well.
Really nice graphics and audio. They really set the mood of the game. However, I seem to don't understand how game mechanics work and the gameplay is TOO repetitive. The level is really hard though i cannot pass the fourth guy.
Actualy really great game!!!
Great game. I needed some time to get how the whole gaining time by killing enemies work, but once I got, I could get farther every time. The ending is rather disappointing as you reach a portal and nothing happens.
very cool game!!! fun fun fun, really enjoyed to play!!
Wow, your game is very creative and interesting. The main mechanics are an excellent interpretation of the theme. I really like the addition of time to each failure, as this seems very much a concept of dynamic difficulty (Can you tell me better if this was intentional or not hahaha). The graphics are beautiful, and the sound is very good. In general it is a very rich experience. Congratulations.
I don't if it's bugged or no but if we just spam killing the first enemies over and over again we can get all the time needed to complete the game, and btw cool idea!
No idea how to play :) , I just keep on dying and dying
@zeonblue you can read about controls in the descriptions, but actually in the future we'll add tutorial
@adil no worries dude, this is my 1st LD, also my 1st time making a game, so I TOTALLY get what goes into making these things, nothing but big respect from my side! Don't listen to random people on the Internet, keep on making & creating!
@zeonblue that's our first LD too) thx for feedback!
@adil alright, after me being less of a moron, I totally changed my rating! Love this game! I think it's so cool that you add time for enemies killed :). I never read the comments because I want to form my own opinions on these games, well done !!
So, I had fun playing your game :) But I had to say that you should not blending two visual styles like pixel-art and vector-art, the result is... questionable in my opinion. The adding time feature is quiet cool, but it took me a while to know that eyes can be killed only with the second weapons. And also zombies (I think they are zombies... ) should have at least another frame/position for a second or a half to warn the player that they will soon throw their bottle of... water ? Nice try for a first timer :) Keep going !
@fadrikalexander Yes, it is another way to complete the game, but is this fun? If people want to, they can just spam first enemy, if not, they will go further and further. Players can do whatever they want to do.
Hey Adil, Imangali, Dama, and Daniikk1012! Struggled very much in the beginning but once I got the hang of it, I managed to beat it, hooray! 😅 Here's my playing it on my stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkR8lNDoteU
Thanks for submitting! 😊
Fun game, I loved it!
A nice take on the theme, creative! Mechanics fit the theme perfectly. At first I had to figure out how the game worked but I learned it pretty quickly. The atmosphere of the game is cool, the sound is amazing and the visuals are great.
A minor thing that slightly annoyed me, however, was that the player hitbox sometimes felt a little large... (Or am I just bad at playing it?)
I can see this could turn out to be a cool game if you'd continue to work with the project, with polishing it and adding some content. (More levels, story etc.)
Anyways, I really enjoyed playing it! Nice job!
Cool concept. I found the game a bit hard.
Nice work done here. congratz
I really like this take on the old "play to earn points to let you progress further" type of game. I found the hardest part was actually figuring out how to deal with the enemies, but once I had that down I was able to make it all the way to the end. My biggest complaint would be the graphics: the backgrounds are good, but the technicolour enemy sprites just look like an eyesore. I can see the kinda vibe you were going for, but somehow it just doesn't click together. At least, not for me.
Really enjoyed this one. Good take on the loop theme too!
Interesting gameplay. It felt like a reverse difficulty curve
I liked the graphics and the audio and the overall presentation reminded me of Katana Zero.
My only gripe is that it wasnt clear why the eyeballs couldn't be killed with the Katana and others could. It wasn't hard to figure it out, but there was no indication that I would have to use the second item. This only bothered me because I was trying to be as efficient as possible and it felt like the game was punishing me for trying to kill the eyeballs with the Katana for no reason.
Maybe if there was some visual indicator like maybe the eyeball is on fire and when you touch it, your character gets burned which would force the player to think of another way to kill it.
TThe game concept is really interesting and well implemented, the art style and the music are awesome too. I couldn’t finish the game due to its difficulty but I really had fun!
Nice job! :D
Really enjoyed your art style <3
