This game is really fun, and looks and sounds good too. I wanted to complain that it was hard to determine which object was which, but then I noticed the hint above the volcano.

This game is really fun, and looks and sounds good too. I wanted to complain that it was hard to determine which object was which, but then I noticed the hint above the volcano.
I nice and fun snake game with a few twists. The conga line itself should be a bit more distinct from the background as it's a bit hard to see with all the space between blocks. Maybe it would help if the people in the line would actually hold hands.
This a very fun and solid platformer with a bit different implementation of the concept of sacrificing yourself to progress. It's surprisingly long for such a short time. I liked the ending too.
A very nicely made game, but the gameplay is a bit confusing.
A pretty little game, very nicely drawn.
This game is a bit too cryptic for me.
A pretty cute game, but there's no real goal to strive for. Surviving is easy by just leaving a narrow corridor under a leaf safe from frogies and getting a lot of frogs is just a matter of leaving them alone.
This is a really well made game with some funky jazz music. Gameplay is a bit lacking though.
Seems like a nice game, but I got stuck on level 3 because of a bug, couldn't chop the meat by clicking on it.
This game is rather confusing.
This game is too hard, especially because the enemy bullets are practically invisible.
This game is very solidly made and has a surprising amount of content given the short time available. The mood is very dark and serious and the theme is implemented perfectly. It only lacks some humor.
There is one annoying thing though: when being revived, the game unpauses before the UI elements disappear, resulting in the rabbit instantly losing health to invisible enemies.
This game looks, feels and sounds very nice, but is just too hard.
Nice game. Only the sword attack feels sluggish.
This is some crazy shit. I like it :)
This game is really fun. Most of the times I lost by pushing the lava balls into buildings myself by accident :)
Beware of the evil fish people! Or rather beware of the evil zeppelin that hates fish people so much that it must sacrifices ordinary people in order to defeat them. This is really fun and really captures the theme well in a hilarious way.
This is a nice retro platformer. I wouldn't mind having a bigger game window though. The browser zoom feature helps with that a bit.
@fernando-tonon-de-rossi Super powers, that's a great idea. I'll remember that for possible future improvements.
@shubart Crazy is my middle name 🤪.
@papabirb Are you sure that checkpoint girl didn't launch you into space on purpose? You never can tell with them :sunglasses:.
@elitegoliath Thanks for the kind words. I intend to make this traditional.
@dining-philosopher Yeah, lake Bled sure is romantic and contributes to the whole vibe of the game. I think the controls actually contribute to the funness of the game.
@garethiw Obviously music is not my forte, so next time I'll try to bring aboard a friend who's really good at making music. Anyway, thanks, as you can see, I'm trying to make good use of my photography when making games.
Nice graphics. Made with Paint? The odds seem very stacked against the player. There's not much you can do once the and there is no indication of how well received the sacrifice was (beside the less frequent falling rocks).
Fun and funny. I'm not sure why a dragon would choke on a prince and not on a princess.
A very nice game. Only problem I had was A button not moving up (fortunately arrows work).
A well made puzzle game. I got stuck on level 1-10 because some of the followers simply stopped following.
It really seems hard to believe this game was made in only 3 days. The environment is a bit to dark to see at times. Getting drunk from bottles is a great idea and well done too.
A pretty game, but keyboard controls are just terrible.
A very pretty and fun detective game. I just feel you really overdid the "breaking the third wall" routine. It ceased to be funny after a couple of times.
A very unique and rouge-like turn-based snake game. Looks deceptively easy at first, but is rather hard. Had much fun with it.
This game is very fun. Steering felt pretty good to me unlike some other commenters. And you should be punished for making mistakes, otherwise it would be too easy.
Is this supposed to be hungry or angry bunny or did you intentionally mix the two? Anyway, the huge gaping bunny mouth is hilarious, and I like the idea of poisonous carrots. The game is a bit simplistic and never ends, but I managed to collect 100 coins anyway.
Fun but short. I would love it if the other reapers actually chased you around. It was supposed to be your life is currency, not theirs, but close enough.
So you have 9 lives but you are not a cat.. this is confusing :cat:
A very interesting take on the theme. The implementation is unfortunately rather lacking.
This would have been much more fun if didn't have to spam my space button so much.
This was really fun, although I only got to level 6 and always lost my coins before I could upgrade anything. The combination of 2D and 3D is interesting, but I didn't like the floor texture. The whole coins/life mechanic is great interpretation of the theme.
Interesting concept, but there's not much of an actual game here, just random guessing and hoping you'll live when you can finally click birth.
I loved the grannies.
A cute little platformer. The theme feels more like last Ludum Dare's **sacrifices must be made** but is still close.
I'm pretty sure working on your game for 5 days instead of 3 is against the spirit and the rules of Ludum Dare. The rules clearly state you are only supposed to fix major bugs in the game after submission. If you do such significant changes, you should at least leave the link to the original submission, so people can judge the ld version of the game.
A very interesting game, but way too hard on my fingers. For me the updated version fails to register the repeated presses of the F after pushing down L so it's impossible to play.
This is much fun. Would give money to homeless blue blobs again if I found it lying on the street.
I just made 16883$ by driving around like a maniac and running over people sideways. This game is so much fun, a perfect tribute to the original GTA 1 & 2. Driving feels great, sound effects are really good and the music fun. It's not exactly on theme, but it's not totally off it either.
This game would better belong in the ridiculously overpowered theme. The laser gun is ridiculously overpowered against all enemies. The dragon has a ridiculous amount of health, but can't get past a simple tree, so I kept shooting at it for like 5 minutes.
It feels like someone took a perfectly good medieval fighting game and bolted a laser gun on it, even the inconsistent art style supports this assumption. I'd give it a big dose of humor rating for the gun animation and the ridiculous idea, but that has been opted out of.
A very cute and funny game. Well done.
A very cute but rather easy game. The only problem are bugged sound controls.
This is a fun but rather frustrating little space pilot game with clean graphics.
A very fun and innovative game, but rather hard for me.
Interesting idea, combining farming and shooting. Sadly, farming is just too hard while defending yourself from zombies. All my plants died. But I didn't really need the health from the plants anyway, because the zombies where too easy too shoot.
A very pretty game, but seriously flawed. Sucking blood freezes the game entirely, making health recovery impossible and the game only playable until the sun takes all your blood away.
@minemes And spore reminds me of some other games before it :)
@draconimous Thanks. I never heard of that game before, but it looks like fun. I have something similar in my Steam library called The Wonderful End of the World.
@conspite That's a good idea, I'll remember it for possible future improvements.
@shaolin-dave I disagree. Your life is **literary** currency here, the only purpose of a piggy bank's life is to hold currency (coins and even bills). That you must use your life to purchase stuff is only **one interpretation** of the theme, and rather boring one at that if you ask me. My first idea was to do that, but then I saw almost everybody was doing that. Besides, I already did something like that last time with "sacrifices must be made".
@weine Thanks. Piggy radar was on the list of ideas, but there wasn't really time to do that, but it's on a list for future improvements, if I ever make any. Past a certain size the field of view actually grows with the piggy to help you see more, but sometimes that's not enough. And you don't actually have to eat all the other pigs to win, you just have to grow to a certain size.
@sockyman Thanks. Banks are just very simpleminded creatures ;) But I agree it would be fun, I actually toyed with that idea myself, but decided against it, because it would be hard to implement properly in the short time available.
@jamesolivermusic Yeah, the name was inspired by Pigs in Space. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmI77ZBeJrQ Thanks, I'll remember that for a possible future expansion.
@gerardb Thanks, I'll add that to the list for future improvements.
@dioinecail That's a great idea. I'll add it to the top of the list for future improvements :pig:
@aurel Sure, a coin counter would be nice, but it wouldn't make any difference whatsoever to the gameplay itself.
What do you mean, having enemies move around? Were they standing still for you? They're certainly not supposed to stand still.
It's rather easy to determine which pigs are bigger and which are smaller than you by their behavior - bigger ones attack you and smaller ones run away from you. Their AI is working for you.
I think getting to enjoy your victory by being able to go unchallenged for a while is fun, but maybe I should've added a timer for the game to end after you become the biggest instead of waiting until you grow to a certain size.
A very pretty and fun game with good take on the theme. The only problem is a lack of visual clues of where the playing field ends on the bottom edges. Enemies get stuck sometimes too.
Interesting idea, a stock exchange with own body parts.
This game would benefit a lot with a better explanation of what is actually going on.
Where's the game?
A nice but hard game. Some sort of a radar would be nice to have.
Very interesting mechanics.
This is a nice game with clean graphics and easy gameplay. I would love to be able to select where to put my buildings. The game seems to end to soon too, when there are still plenty of trees and plenty of open space - it would be great if you could really fill the whole planet with buildings. The buttons are too close to the planet(not like in the gif), I purchased several of those apartment blocks by accident when trying to save for a factory.
There is only source code. I don't have time to compile your game just to play it.
That giant weapon display covering half of the vertical space above the player seriously got on my nerves.
This is a nice minimalistic retro game. However, the movement controls are too convoluted: what's the point of pressing space while holding a directional button instead of simply pressing the directional button by itself?
This is a really fun game based on a great idea. However, some more instructions are needed. I didn't know those round red squares were the enemies and that I was supposed to hit them. I was running around the corridors, trying to avoid the lasers and just couldn't get anywhere. Fortunately I got told what to do by a friend.
Looks like a nice game, but I really couldn't figure it out.
Nice game and good idea. Sadly there are many bugs. Some adjacent blocks just won't connect. It's possible place blocks on the same position as other blocks. And it's possible to just go straight through the barriers.
Nice game. That black hole is a bitch though.
All hail the might PigRamAnts! Anyway, you got great creature design and a game that is way too hard, which is a shame as I'd love to see the transformations take place.
Interesting game. It's start really hard but when you pickup enough stuff it gets super easy.
Minimalism at its finest. It's great how it starts really easy and gets harder and harder towards the end.
Nicolas Cage would be proud :D I liked the funny hand-drawn characters and the smooth gameplay. Using a keyboard button instead of the mouse click would work better IMHO.
This is a fun little exploration game. Unfortunately I encountered a bug: the map started to jump up and down between to positions rapidly which made me dizzy and prevented me from seeing what I was doing.
Cool game but way too hard. Workers quitting for not having to work for a few seconds is also totally unrealistic :D
This is a really cute and bloody game, which usually don't make a good combination, but in this case it worked great. Baby Moses has some fun with deadly critters in the forest and then finds his new parents across the river.
What an interesting concept! It would be good for LD43: Sacrifices must be made too. Controls and collisions were a bit off, but I was able to escape all the levels anyway.
Nice game, only the music is a bit annoying.
This is a really nice little point'n'click game that also looks pretty.
This was fun. The story with the cutscenes was really nice, music fit well and the combat felt good. I struggled with the dashing level, until I accidentally cheated .. dashed down tree times from the start, over the first two holes and straight through a wall, then tried to get back inside, but got moved to the next room when I got near the exit.
Interesting art style.
This is an interesting concept. Well executed, but it was a bit too easy too be much fun.
This is a cool meta game. This is the first game in which I ever needed to write SQL in a game. I'm not sure why anyone would use a database to make a game, but I guess sql was the easiest language to use for a simple coding exercise.
Cool game. If only I could figure how to go through doors.
Wow, this is amazing. Going backwards is really fun. I don't think I reached the ending, but that doesn't really matter in a game like this.
Nice game and atmosphere, but where is the candy? It's a bit laggy and the music just stops playing at some point.
Cool game. Gave up after a few tries though.
As always you made a fun but a little peculiar game with ugly but pretty graphics and bad but good sounding sounds. If that makes any sense :) I wish you had more time for this.
Good job on actually conquering your own engine and finally producing something. As for the game itself, there isn't enough of it to say anything.
@terribly-awesome-games Thanks. Unfortunately your idea of subtracting the size of the particles wouldn't work as there would always be the same total mass of both particles and antiparticles and you would be unable to create an imbalance that is needed to actually win the game.
@barrier Best strategy is to make one big particle and then destroy it with a small one. Repeat until win. Like I did in my video. There are actually 5 different endings depending on what you do.
@ausstein Thanks. It's true that you couldn't tell the difference between our universe and one made of antimatter, unless you could somehow cross into the other one and try the local cuisine :D
SPOILER ALERT: Creating big amounts of matter and antimatter is a way to one of the endings, but it requires a bit more: a total balance. Looking back I can see this condition doesn't make much sense as annihilation is asymmetrical, but it makes achieving this ending more challenging.
@roque Thanks. Good point about the volume. The game ends when either the edge of the universe reaches the red outline or you reach one of the two early endings (one of which is the creation of the universe by creating enough of only matter). The expansion of the universe slows down significantly with time, so that might have confused you. I slowed the expansion even though that's not scientifically accurate because it's much easier to play when the universe is bigger.
@shess Thanks. In that case I won't give you any spoilers.
@gamefive @welliton Thanks. Do you think it would be as much fun if it was easier? Getting the difficulty right is one of the hardest things to manage in these events.
@rialgar Thanks for the review. I know it's not even remotely scientifically accurate, but it beats all the current theories in the fun department ;)
What a nice little platformer with cute paper graphics. I'd prefer a bit less levels but more difficult and varied ones.
This is fun and it fits the theme. Plus points for the ents.
I never imagined it would be so fun driving without a car.
A short & sweet game with a nice story. The only thing that I didn't like was the font used - it doesn't fit the pixelated artwork.
Cool and fun game, but the respawn mechanics are really bad. On the first try I was stuck in the ground too. And I died multiple times while respawning in the same deadly space again and again.
Collecting dust is fun. Making dust is even more fun, but you can bypass the entire first part of the game by spamming the C button. The second part isn't really technically a game that isn't too much fun by itself, but could make sense as a part of a bigger game if you could play with the painted planets afterwards.
What a nice puzzle game.
Why does the devil want you to be good? That doesn't make sense. Otherwise this is a really cool game with simple but pretty graphics.
If this is the wrong entry, then you should just edit it with a link to the right one. Here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/nothing-for-heaven-1
This is so much fun. Minimalistic graphics and the music fit the mood perfectly.
This was much more fun than expected by the description. Good job.
Cool game.
This is a fun little game.
This is a really cool game. Echoing footsteps really contributed to the mood.
Well, that certainly was something.
A fun little platform with great voice acting and some funny dialog.
This is a very pretty and atmospheric game using the very familiar and fun World of Goo mechanics.
This is a very good looking game with great atmosphere. Unfortunately there are some bugs that prevent us to enjoy it fully, like text appearing behind things or even off screen, awkward moving and interacting with stuff. The ending is a nice surprise. The music is nice, but rather repetitive.
This is really fun to play. Good job.
A nice and simple game. Interesting choice making this for android only. Since you made it with Unity, you could easily make builds for other platforms so more people would try it. With webGL you could play it on any device, even a phone (android or not).
I really dig the minimalistic black and white with a splash of red art.
What an interesting idea and a great looking game! The plant in my game is much less bloodthirsty.
A nice entry. Only the music in the first few levels is slightly annoying, especially that hissing sound. That complaint about not enough time is pointless, learning by failing is the more fun way to play.
Nice concept. The gray traps require some rather good timing and/or luck. Once you get the white traps the game gets too easy.
Interesting concept. Selecting a conversation item by just clicking on it instead of selecting it with the mouse wheel and then clicking/pressing space would make the gameplay smoother and easier to concentrate.
This is a very nice puzzle game with pretty graphics. I had some problems getting past level 3, but managed to finish the game anyway. Once you figure out you're supposed to kill the blue cell at just the right moment so it shoots in the perpedicular direction with a double shot it gets a lot easier.
Great idea for a game. Unfortunately, it gets too hard to soon. It's only hard to tell apart which boats and plains are good or which are bad if you're not paying attention to the start screen.
Interesting idea. Controls take some getting used to, but the real problem is that the ship has too little thrust so it takes forever for it to move and even longer to stop and go back the other way.
Wow, this game really looks and sounds impressive. Unfortunately, after a while the wines stopped working for me so I couldn't get anywhere
This is a really fun game with a lot of content and variety. I loved watching those bacteriophages go into action. It's just about hard enough to be winnable, especially once you learn you can't protect everything.
I had to abort the game on level one once when the attackers got pass my defense and gathered in the bottom right corner, never coming back to attack the cells they left behind.
Cool game, but a bit short on content.
A fun and simple little game.
This was surprisingly fun. Nice music and graphics.
Funny stuff.
Cute game and graphics, but very short and too easy.
This a well done and polished game. The only thing bothering me is that your decisions have no consequences to yourself. There is no punishment for failure. There is no reward for success.
This is amazing. It's pretty, the controls are just just about clumsy enough to make it fun and not too frustrating (I assume that was intentional), and the size of the levels is impressive for such a short time. Only the camera is a bit annoying at times.
Very solid gameplay and a surprising amount of levels. I'd rather see a bit less but more challenging puzzles though.
The music, on the other hand, felt really annoying to me, especially after several loops. I wish there was a way to turn it off without turning off the sound effects.
Simple but fun and kind of pretty, as always. By the way, I started hating bluebirds after playing this game.
I really like the concept of this game. You really need to find more time to work on your art, because it's hard to grok the game and play it properly when things are barely recognizable. A few more levels and a few more tools would be great too.
Simple and fun but rather easy.
Cool idea and nice design, but the unpredictable camera movement makes this very hard to play.
@dingotime Thanks. Good idea about starting at second stage. Anyway, on the second stage the plant has become carnivorous and you have to feed it the little flies by pushing them towards its mouth while avoiding the mouth yourself. Here's an explanation from the game itself: midTitle.png
@n-feofentov Thanks. It's great seeing someone else play my game. Unfortunately you didn't get to the second, harder stage, but you were very close and already guessed some of what was coming.
@prism Oh really? I can't even win myself. What's your secret? That second stage is really hard, maybe even too hard.
@jajo Thanks. Actually, I already increased the size of the area around the mouth that picks the droplets during development, but didn't want to increase it so much that it would become too easy. I think it's almost the right size now.
@ditam Thanks. Yeah, the flies are a bit hard to push and I think you're right and the shape of the collider is making that even harder, I'll have to experiment a bit tomorrow. By the way, it's easier to use water on snails than to push them.
@jajo I made a small fix that should allow you to pick up water droplets more easily. If you try it, please refresh the page with the game first, just in case.
@ditam Thanks to you I made a small fix that makes it easier to push flies around. If you try it, please refresh the page with the game first, just in case.
@tgiant Thanks. I actually considered using the mouse but decided against it because I felt it would give the game a totally different character and make it rather easy. Then again, my mother could play it if it was mouse controlled, but that's not the target audience.
@kschmidt @guilherme-oliveira Thanks. The other flies are there to annoy you a bit by getting in the way and stealing your water, so it feels more appropriate to take revenge on them in the second part. They are also there to remind you that you are just one of them, that's why they aren't really different from you apart from the size and hue differences. On the other hand, it would be easier to tell Buzz apart from the other flies if it was a bit different.
@bkmld Thanks. Good idea about the timer. There could even be some statistics thrown in .. how many droplets you collected, how many you used on the plan, how much damage the snails and so on.
@mark-a-pressler Thanks, I glad you enjoyed it. The primary defense against snails is supposed to be touching them with water droplets, which seems better to me as they instantly go back all the way to the edge. The ability to push them wasn't planned and specifically programmed behaviour, but when I saw it was possible, I thought about preventing it, but decided the game was hard enough already so I left it in.
Fun and pretty, but a bit buggy. I gave up when I repeatedly failed to water the top flower on that first spinning wall.
I gave this another try today and managed to get to the end. Watching the video helped to see you have to stand further back to hit that top flower.
A fun game for the pandemic season.
This is a nicely done game. It was a bit on the easy side.
This game looks incredible for a Ludum Dare game.
Unfortunately combat feels weird for some reason. Most of the time I didn't even know if I was doing it right, but I managed to win anyway.
I wish I had tree hands so I could play this properly :)
Nice puzzle. It's really not that hard once you get the hang of it. I got to 45.80% before getting tired of it and quitting. The puzzle is just too big. The music is nice but gets repetitive rather fast. The available pieces are really hard to see against the backdrop of already placed pieces, it would be much better if they were on some kind of tray.
Those darn squirrels kept eating my egg before I could burn them all into a crisp (yeah, I know they are supposed to be foxes, but at first look the looked like squirrels and that stayed in my head even after reading they weren't). :fox:
Simple but cute graphics and solid gameplay. The only problem is the mouse being too sensitive.
This is a fun and very polished puzzle game. Good job.
Interesting idea, making everything with javascript.
Unfortunately it's really hard to play hangman when you don't know any of the words.
Nice but very hard. Reminds me of Manual Samuel.
This game has a really nice spooky atmosphere. Maybe the eyes could slowly move towards you from behind you and if they ever caught you - game over.
Creepy and pretty and hard as hell. Some more detailed instructions on how to play would make this even better. I wouldn't mind some consideration for narrower displays - the text was cut off on the sides on my 16:10 display. Otherwise - good job.
Cute game with a unique art style.
The only problems was the controls getting jammed a couple of times.
Simple but fun. The flies do just the opposite than in my game.
Simple but fun, and cute.
Nice entry with nice pixelated art. A little advice: make a longer description with some screenshots or art in it to entice people to play the game. You should also mention somewhere that you are supposed to use the mouse to click that blow, I spent a long time searching which button to push to blow. Better yet would be to assign a keyboard button to do the blowing.
Interesting concept and some nice humor. The whole sitting on the couch to not get noticed mechanic would be a lot clearer if the character actually sat on the couch when you press space.
Fun game! It gets really difficult after about a minute and a half.
You owe me a new space bar! Other than that, the game looks very polished, the numerous characters and the environment are very pretty and cute, the music fits well and the sound effects that different weapons make are great. Sometimes the space bar just stopped doing anything and the character stopped spinning and the game was soon over.
Cool game, nice and simple.
This has very minimalistic graphics and minimalistic but fun gameplay with a nice gradual increase in difficulty. I like having the playing field wrapped around the score.
I only got 21779.
Nice game but kind of short.
Finally the proof that the Earth is flat. The game looks absolutely gorgeous. I would need a more comprehensive tutorial to really enjoy it.
Nice game. The music is a bit repetitive and I think it would be a lot more fun if there was a way to delete or replace individual pieces because one mistake will cause you to restart the whole level.
Great job, this is super fun to play. If only my past selves weren't driving like idiots
Simple but fun. The controls seemed to get sluggish towards the end, when a lot of stuff was on the screen.
That's one pretty yet disturbing game.
This game is very unique and much fun. Mushroom power! :mushroom:
I actually had "email sim" written as one of the ideas on my whiteboard, but it was among the first deleted in favor of other ones. Anyway, this game is very different and unique and it was fun and funny to play.
Interesting idea.. a game that basically plays itself.
A really nice retro game with retro 3D graphics and sound effects. The controls were are a bit problematic (smooth or not) as it's hard to make a turn. Having the same text scroll again after failing a level is a bit annoying.
Cute goose and fun gameplay. That goose sound completes it.
Nice game, reminds me of The Bridge, Back to Bed and Etherborn. The repetitive nature of the concept of being stuck in an endless loop by having to play the same game over and over again was somewhat offset by the different objectives.
I had some trouble getting through the doors until I figured out I just need to click on the wall inside the door.
This is a cool environmentally-conscious game.
The only problem is that controls are rather counterintuitive for us landlubbers and even clear instructions don't help with that because people don't read them (including myself). The boat can also get stuck close to land or even on the barrels once the cargo deck is full.
You should really put the link to the game in the Downloads and links section and not as only what looks like red title text. Like @cyborgx7 I didn't see it at first.
The game itself is fun and looks good. The only problem I see is that the sequence of notes is shown too fast for me and I had to guess some of them and eventually gave up.
Interesting idea and nicely implemented orbital mechanics, but getting that satellite in the right position is really hard. Some more levels would be great, especially an easier one to start.
Great game. Looks pretty, sounds great, and place well. Only with all those clones of yourself it felt like it was impossible not to win the game eventually.
You must be a huge commodore 64 fan to make a game for it. Anyway, good job.
Nice game, the only problem is that some of the orcs didn't move and my friends didn't want to attack them either.
Funny game. Cute character. I never needed to dive because I could always move aside. Animation moving in big steps was a bit distracting.
Interesting idea and nice implementation. I had some problems with lag too.
That's a very unique take on the theme with interesting game mechanics. It's hard but I managed to win in about 7 tries. The only thing I was missing was a little healthbar on the computer so I wouldn't be surprised when losing the game suddenly.
Great game. I made some big bucks and had real fun until it stopped responding
Great and very polished game. The character was a bit hard to control though because of the high speed and the mouse sensitivity was too high for me.
Nice entry that fits the theme. You should explain better how catching ships work, it took me a long while to figure out that I was supposed to wait for them with my pyramid under them. Reacting to the enemies coming from below was really hard, maybe they should move slower.
That's one weird and disturbing game. Nice retro art and some really trippy post effects. And lost of scary cats. I couldn't get past the mushroom level, I killed everything and nothing happened.
Charming game that requires some thinking to get through. The concept of one looping and one non-looping protagonist works great. There is just the right amount of levels for it not to get boring. :frog:
This is great. The double loop mechanic is fun and completely on theme. The minimalist graphics and the simple music fit perfectly. Some sound effects would make it even better.
Interesting idea and some funny cvs. The gameplay is confusing though. It seems the best strategy is to do nothing or reject everyone.
This game gave me great appreciation for librarians everywhere. The graphics is simple but nice and consistent and the soundtrack fits well.
Wow this is an incredibly gorgeous looking game with a very nice story. I especially liked the plot twist in the middle with the music turning ominous. I didn't find anything very wrong with the controls like some others did.
Great idea! I didn't think everyday activities could be much fun, but I was wrong.
This is great. The world is gorgeous and very immersive.
I only wish I wasn't so tone-deaf that I couldn't repeat any melody except the first one. It would be great if there were some visual clues for the musically impaired people like me.
Great atmospheric piece. The voxelized graphics fit the simplified gameplay greatly.
Cute game. The randomness of the pumpkins makes the game's difficulty fluctuate wildly between runs. I had to reload the game to get a manageable pattern.
Looks pretty and the game play is very unique and theme fitting, but it was a bit too convoluted for me so I gave up pretty soon.
Nice comic and great music. The world seemed rather empty and bland with only 2 textures.
Nice puzzle game. It seems a little buggy.. it didn't register my win here:bad.PNG
This is a very fun puzzle with nice minimalistic graphics and mood. It reminds me of Train Valley. It was rather easy though as each train could be dealt with individually because it started on a separate loop. I would love to play some more (harder) levels of this.
A very cute game with an even cuter hamster! The movement feels a bit sluggish and trying to control where the key falls is a bit of a frustrating experience.
The games starts rather hard from the beginning. There could be fewer items in the bags at the beginning and the bags could come at a smaller frequency. I can't see the whole game on my 1920x1200 screen so I can't see all the items in the scanner so I wasn't able to do well  Game looks very polished otherwise.
That is one wacky and unique game. The silly graphics greatly contribute to the mood.
Nice game, the minimalist look suits it well, the music is nice. It's a bit hard on the fingers to those combos in rapid succession. I got to 4th place. If you want more ratings, you should really rate other games and not just post on the front page.
You definitely nailed the theme with this one.
You and your custom engine are definitely showing some progress from game jam to game jam, but I wish you would focus a bit more on the games you are making. The game looks rather pretty graphically, but those red arrows unfortunately spoil the effect. More levels would make this a great game.
Nice game. It's funny how you interpreted the theme as something moving on a fixed game like I did, but ended up with a very different game with more content and a bit less polish.
Only the constant sound the tanks makes while moving is a bit annoying and makes it hard to hear the music.
The title of this game is completely on point. While I could get through the first puzzle slowly or even force it by just running and jumping, the second was too much for me. The game looks pretty in its minimalistic sort of way.
Great puzzle game with a minimalist look and a nice music track. That tour of the whole path of the laser in the end is a really nice touch.
@cafe-ducha-siesta Thanks. The game actually gets harder over time as every thirty seconds a new animal joins the fray.
@cafe-ducha-siesta @yokoonfire @rhaelser @Rost Thanks for the kind feedback. I actually wrote some code that would ensure the enemies don't spawn to close, but forgot to take their loopy paths into consideration.
@doomerismo Thanks. If the :turtle: didn't share its pain then the game couldn't happen.
@nisanick Thanks. I recommend playing it in fullscreen (click that blue button with arrows on it under the game).
[Making of the game](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/revenge-of-loopy-the-turtle/how-to-make-profit-or-a-game-for-ludum-dare).
@acuriosity Thanks for the funny and constructive comment.
@rost @rhaelser @yokoonfire @cafe-ducha-siesta @klettari @nisanick I fixed the code that checks that enemies don't spawn to close to the turtle. I think the game is less prone to random change now. And I think the animals now don't even need to contrast with the environment more.
@exofrenon @acuriosity I find it's often the case that focusing on the negative side of things puts the point across more effectively. And besides, being the villain is usually more fun than being the good guy
@schizoid2k Thanks. You are partially right.. that wasn't planned, but I did leave it in because it looked funny. So it's not a bug, it's a feature
@egan-henderson Thanks. Actually, Loopy intentionally behaves erratically when the mouse is over him, because he gets confused and that's funny. I made sure the animals spawn at a safe distance, but sometimes they are hard to distinguish from the background and/or move towards you. And you can push them away by shooting them some more even after they're incapacitated. Good job on beating the highscore!
@arbex Thankx. No animals are ever killed in this game, only incapacitated, they always come back. Even Loopy just gets incapacitated for a few seconds after falling off its car.
@island-jam-2-group-3 Thanks. There's only a slight delay after losing so you can register what happened and how much you scored. I think it's better than having to press something on a keyboard or click a button on screen (which you could do by accident).
@trexxak Thanks. Evil twists are my specialty :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
What you experienced was not a bug but a deliberate feature. You can still fall of your cart if it hits a large enough looped, incapacitated animal. You are supposed to shoot them out of your path, looped or not. And you don't get killed in this game, only incapacitated for a while, the same as the other animals.
Very cute start of a game. I wish you would finish it.
An interesting concept of a game, but a bit too confusing for my taste.
Very funny idea and great intro! Game is rather hard because of the aiming. I think mouse controls could work better.
Nice idea, racing against yourself, but you can score big time by going very slowly the first time and a bit faster on each of the next loops. The game looks nice, the controls are good and the moving and jumping is smooth.
Interesting concept but not much of gameplay. Some obstacles would make it better.
A very nice game with a great attack animation. Some whoosh sound when you strike would make it much more fun. I quit after killing 13 enemies. It actually gets easier on higher levels, as there is less ground to cover between enemies and you can even kill a couple with a single move.
Interesting approach. Looks a bit like Mini Metro. Unfortunately I had no idea how to actually play this until reading some of the other comments. How about giving us some instructions?
This is a cool game with very nice graphics. That ground looping upward effect in the beginning was great. Unfortunately, it's way too hard for me. I didn't make it much past the screen the person above me posted.
Great game. The only problem I see is that you can get stuck if the card you use produces a hole you can't get out of when you fall in it later.
Great game, pretty graphics with just enough of a challenge.
Great game with beautiful graphics and music. The theme is incorporated nicely with that piece of code. The platforming was fun, only the jumping was weird as it happened too fast to control.
You owe me a new right arrow key! On a serious note, this game is very unique and surprisingly fun to play.
Great idea and great execution and a surprising amount of levels.
Nice shooting game. It is really hard tough. Not having to click directly on enemies would make it a lot easier and fun to play IMHO.
Cute game and very impressive "ending".
Really nice little strategy game. It looks gorgeous.
Great game! I only made to level 5. I hate those clowns. Anyway, great zombie carnival atmosphere with great graphics, sounds and music.
This is a great game, very fun to play and good looking. The only problem I had was that sometimes after restart the ship moved in downward direction and immediately crashed on the bottom wall.
Well that was fun. I couldn't remember how I got into any of the rooms so I wandered around randomly, and then I got to the safe room and didn't understand the instructions so I left that room and was ready to give up until I went back and read your spoilers. So I found the safe room again but couldn't remember which torches I used so I had to try every combination of changing the code by one (there's only 16 of them).
The game looks rather pretty, the music is great and the mood is perfect. Gameplay is a bit confusing but figuring it out is part of the fun.
Great game. And that's coming from someone who hates dancing. The dance moves are funny, the music is groovy and the core mechanic is stuck in a loop.
What aharming world with some wacky characters to explore without having to worry about anything. I only wish I could do it in fullscreen and not just that tiny window.
Nice game but very hard. I got stuck in place 3 times after respawning and had to restart the game.
Great idea and a very pretty looking game. Unfortunately the unforgiving timer only allowed me to eat a single strawberry after numerous attempts.
Nice idea and a very good looking game.
I killed the first person I saw and won the game instantly :)
I never imagined cooking soup could be so much fun. This game plays great, looks and sound good. I can almost taste the soups. Difficulty increases really nicely too.
This is very fun to play.
This is a really nice puzzle game with some nice graphics. Some sounds and background music would make it even better. Unfortunately it suffers from acute excess of text. The actual instructions get lost in the story and the jokes so people will skip them either intentionally or by accident.
I also got stuck on level 2 for a long time trying to figure out how to make the robots even start moving, yet alone do something useful. All that text never mentions that you have to put the robots on the arrows to make them go until somewhere on level 3.
This is a really nice entry in minimalistic style. Obviously inspired by Mini Metro but very different from that game. Having no victory condition or a way to lose makes it very casual.
Space taxi that loops around the planets, great idea and nice implementation. I had great fun despite missing the right moment to switch orbits many times.
Great idea and pretty graphics. It's rather hard to place the pieces fast enough though.
404 not found.
This was really fun to play once I figured out those dark blotches were ratholes that transform you to the other side. Yeah, I know, it's written in the instructions, but who reads those? Gameplay is very polished and balanced. I got 27 cheese pieces. The protagonists are cute, the environment is nice and the music fits perfectly. Some sound effect when you grab the cheese would be great.
Nice game, but a little too hard. I loved the ouch sound.
Nice game but very hard to understand. I managed to pass the first level but gave up on the second. It would be a lot easier and more fun to play if the level didn't reset after a fail.
Cool game. The gravity changing mechanic is a great idea and is implemented beautifully.
That's got to be the bloodiest game in this entire event. It looks nice and plays well.
Nice game. I only wish there was a way to correct mistakes or at least restart a level without having to wait for the car to crash.
A pretty game with nice music and simple but fun orbital mechanics. The only problem is the orbiting speed .. it's too fast at first to be able to aim properly and then it's suddenly too slow on the next orbit.
A very interesting idea for a game. I liked the wacky graphics too.
A very unique concept, having to put sentences together. All the slow walking is a bit tiresome though.
Very solid entry with fun gameplay. Is something supposed to happen after 120 seconds? Because I didn't see anything.
A very nice little platformer. The music is nice and it changes nicely with each level, but is a little bit too repetitive.
Great game! Had a lot fun eventough I hate American football. 2020 got me with the bullets and I didn't feel like doing all the previous levels again. It would be great if the game restarted on the last level.
This was fun even with the awkward controls and the annoying music. The cutscenes were nice too and the length of the game surprised me.
Very cute game! Also educational and environmentally friendly too. And funny title too.
I had some struggle with the aiming at first, but once I got it, it started to get fun. Shooting through walls is great :) Then I got stuck with one of the characters getting through a door that opens with a pressure plate, while the other didn't and no way of reopening it so I had to restart from the beginning.
The game is fun, has unique esthetics and a very nice soundtrack. I only missed some sound effects and a healthbar.
Nice arcade space shooter on a fixed circular path. Level progression doesn't seem to do much except making you shoot more times to kill the structures as enemies get stuck behind the structures and sometimes even offscreen. I only lost when new enemies swarmed me with only 1 part of the structure remaining.
When using mouse controls, you should allow shoot with the mouse too instead of just the space key. And why does the ship look like a wedding ring?
A nice little platformer. Throwing the loop you can then walk on is a great idea. The progress area should be better marked, I almost didn't find them and almost left with the impression the game had no goal.
A very fun platformer with solid movement, nice minimalistic graphics and good lighting. Powerups are fun and very useful and the whole escape from the loop theme is implemented nicely. At first I didn't realize those blue rectangles were the wisps I was supposed to follow so I was stuck in a loop for a while.
Interesting idea and really pretty graphics. It was rather easy after I learned how to play, as you don't have to get everything right on higher levels.
The game is surprisingly good, it doesn't need all this shameless spam promotion.
A very interesting take on the theme. It's hard though.
Great game. I needed some time to get how the whole gaining time by killing enemies work, but once I got, I could get farther every time. The ending is rather disappointing as you reach a portal and nothing happens.
Wow, I'm not sure what I just played. It's confusing as hell. It captures the theme perfectly. Great job!
I loved the deer running away.
A very interesting concept and some nice visual. It needs a proper tutorial though, not just one that throws you into a complex level and expects you to figure it out. I had no idea what was going on in there. Eventually I figured out I can step on my previous path to get higher, but at that point I lost interest in playing anymore.
The game has a nice polished look to it, but the visually lacking stick-figure dancer doesn't fit well with the rest of the game graphics. Gameplay is solid, but arrows not syncing with music takes a lot of fun out of it. I guess you'd have to either do some on-the-fly soundwave analysis or prerecord the sequence of moves either by hand or with some kind of tool.
A very cool concept and nice execution. It's rather hard because the controls aren't very responsive and it's hard to judge how far from the center things are. Some concentric circles or just a mark (maybe a sun) in the center would help a lot.
Nice, simple and relaxing orbital mechanic game with great music. Spamming a ton of planets and watching them go was fun.
Nice and simple and fun! I think leaving the player and the enemies where they are when adding a new legacy would make the gameplay a lot smoother.
This isn't really a game, it's more like an experience. A good moody portrayal of depression.
Pretty game with nice music, but I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing :slight_frown:
Cute game but it has some issues. The first game I started I was inside a rock and couldn't move. Next time I started inside a tree. Third time I started in closed enclosure and couldn't get out. Then inside a bush. It took me about 7 reloads to start in a valid position, but the carrot was inside a tree - fortunately I could still get it. When placing things you should add a check to avoid placing them in the starting and the ending area.
A text adventure with nice graphics and background music. The game seemed very short and it looked like it didn't even matter what I chose. But after reading the above comment I realized that the game always selects the left choice regardless of what I press.
Nice and simple and addictive. That screen shake was really intense.
Great idea. This game is certainly unique.
That's a very cute doggy and a nice platform game. The catch and jump mechanic is a little bit awkward, but works.
Had 4 enlightenments and great fun.
I defeated the big dude and won the game. This is really fun to play. I like the minimalistic graphics and the water getting darker as you progress deeper and deeper. The difficulty is well balanced.
A bunch of flying somethings killed me every time :( You captured the theme perfectly.
This's a very interesting concept for a game. The only thing that bothered me was that I had to scroll the terminal manually when the text reached the bottom.
Nice game apart for the occasional freezing and lagging. I think there are just too many objects for it to run smoothly.
Nice game. The monsters are so cute I didn't want to shoot them.
Cool game. I love how the atmosphere changes from sunny to creepy as you progress toward the legendary tree.
Those darn aggressive fish ate me :( The game itself is done very well, has a nice mood and is fun to play.
Excellent job on the dark mood. The hands pulling the player sure are creepy, and the sharks are scary.
The game looks very pretty, the music is nice and the controls are very smooth. I just couldn't get much over 70bn.
I think the game would benefit greatly from a game over condition, either running out of time or running out of health due to too many crashes. As it is you can play it forever and never reach the ending. Some kind of scoring for the people not able to get to the end would be great too (like top speed reached).
What a cute game and fun game and what a dirty mouth on that raccoon.
This isn't a game, it's an experience. And it's a lot more polished than most of the game games in the jam. Good job.
That was a fun little game with a nice little story. Unfortunately I couldn't quite figure out what to do with the files on levels 6 and 7.
This is a really nice old-school text adventure, but rather short.
Apparently I can't swim :( Great game anyway.
Pretty game with nice music, but there is just too much slow digging involved. I found 2 coins but no enemies to shoot my cool sounding weapon at. I also found two boxes that I didn't know what to do with.
@doc-kaos Thanks, I even had the submarines shooting strawberries planned, but run out of time to do that.
@psiv Thanks and good job, I think even my best result was around 67 seconds.
Whiteboards are cool, but there's a very limited selection of colors available and you can't mix them. [Here are some examples of my whiteboard drawings](http://gallery.flyingdogfish.com/Drawings)
@tanis Easily, I just took the first part of the animal name and stuck a Y behind it :smirk: Anyway, I always found these whales fascinating and I used to draw them everywhere.
Thanks for the review.
@zoarfy Thanks for the thorough review. There was a plan to draw a pretty background, but there just wasn't enough time to do that. The controls are a bit awkward on purpose, so the game is funnier and isn't too easy so you get more satisfaction playing it.
@exilegl Thanks, you did good, only 5 more meters to the bottom :)
@monninen Thanks for the totally not weird but fun comment
Simple but fun. The minimalist graphics fit perfectly and the music selection was excellent.
Nice sea mining game. The top-mounted gun makes it really hard to shoot enemies directly in front of you :frowning2:
@ausstein Yeah, the post-jam version is much better, I managed to win. And don't worry, I'm here to stay.
Simple but fun.
This game sure is pretty and the music complements the visuals nicely.
This looks like a nice game, but is sadly too confusing for me.
Cool game but a little glitchy. The ending screen is rather confusing, a simple message that you won would make it a lot better.
What an interesting blend of genres.
I love the atmosphere.
Interesting concept but hard to play because of the inconsistent physics. I somehow got 2 parts of the key but had no idea where to find the third. Then I fell through the floor  The character is cute and the music is nice.
Funny, fast paced and fun to play. Good job.
Hard to see your game is.
This is a very nice exploration game with a nice underwater vibe and some interesting items to find.
Nice and very pretty game but very hard. I really missed the repair facilities on planets so I could spend my hard earned money on getting my ship fixed. Getting spawn camped by 3 or even 4 enemies was no fun.
Nice twist on the theme!
That frog is really cute and I find it hilarious that it's allergic to water :frog:
This is the most unique take on the theme I've seen so far. There are surprisingly many levels for such a short time. The ending is fantastic.
Unfortunately you don't seem to be getting enough ratings to get a final grade. If you want more ratings, you should leave constructive comments on other games, not just rate them.
Very unique gameplay. Good job.
The game looks great and is fun to play, but is a bit on the easy side.
Great take on the theme. Unfortunately the character is a bit too drunk.
If you were trying to make a frustrating game, you succeeded.
Crazy game, funny as hell. Gameplay is fun eventough you need some luck to pass some levels. Game looks nice and the sound effects are good.
Nice game, fits the theme perfectly. The engine exhaust looks very nice. Unfortunately it was too nauseating and frustrating to play for my taste. I gave up somewhere on level 3.
Nice and simple game. I tried shooting in a nice parabolic curve but failed because the power control is too sensitive so I started shooting straight with full power and got to the end. Having to dismiss a message box after each shot and finished level felt very unnecessary.
Fun and pretty with a nice soundtrack. Gameplay is tricky but that makes it fun.
Great game, combining stacking stuff on a slope and management. Building a wall against catzilla and roof against meteor birds proved a hindrance when the earthquakes and tsunamis and tornados hit. The game looks good. Some sound effects would make it even better.
Great game. Voxels look really nice. Gameplay is fun and not too hard.
What a great and fun little game. The wonky physics fits the theme perfectly.
Good game. Hard but just manageable. I crashed about a dozen times and then landed with 77% fuel left.
Pretty game and fun too. Difficulty is on the easy side.
fail.PNG
This is a really nice little game with many levels. The blue block was giving me some troubles, but I managed to win anyway.
Cute game with great visuals, sounds and atmosphere. I got to 197. It's great you can get rid of the monsters with the dynamite sticks, otherwise the game would get too hard too soon.
A game worthy of Bennett Foddy himself. I'm not even sure what the goal of the game is. Was I supposed to get across the milk crate stack? After a lot of tries I got over the top and a few crates down. It's really hard to get anywhere and then the character just goes berserk for no apparent reason.
The game itself looks good and the music is nice. The fullscreen button only puts the game on top left of a black screen instead of enlarging it.
The champagne is a lie! Anyway, great game, I especially liked the sounds.
Great game. It's just about hard enough. I got pushed by the spikes at one of the hardest levels and ended up on the way to the next one.
The game looks and sounds great and is fun to play. Since there is no score, there is no incentive to actually shoot things except in self defense, and even then just ramming things is more effective because it's easier and you lose stability anyway. I managed to beat the first boss.
Nice game with nice graphics and great soundtrack, but it's way too fast for me. I had to press the break button all the time so it was awkward to press up and down buttons at the same time.
Great game. I was a bit confused at first, but soon learned what to do. The difficulty increases nicely throughout the game. In the beginning I was tossing ingredients in the pot across the entire screen, then I had to start throwing some of them in the other directions and in the end I was even blocking everything on the conveyor belt with an ingredient in hand (not sure if that mechanic was intentional) until a good one appeared.
The game looks great and the music is nice.
Nice game, only the buzzing sound (light flickering?) was annoying. It was a bit tricky but I managed to finish all the levels. It's fun to play, the graphics look good and I think the music was nice, but I'm not sure because of the buzzing.
Cute and fun game. I just don't understand how a dirty uniform prevents you from catching buckets
Nice game. The square character and zombies look very nice. It gets too hard for me pretty soon :(
Great game with many levels. Controls are just about on the right side of the frustration line. It fits the theme perfectly. Only the high-pitched sound of the emerging balls is rather annoying.
Bunny hopping is hard. And than the ghosts get me.
Nice game. I got 8804. Gameplay is solid but gets a bit boring after a while. It would be nice if the ingredients slowly disappeared and the potion changed color when it was done instead of being ready straight away.
@nanolotl Thanks.
@barrier Thanks. I'd say that the game getting stuck was intentional because of the theme, but that would be a lie.
@lovor Thanks.
@lakea @corbeng Thanks. Knocking over stuff with the current piece is part of the fun.
@joshuarabbit Thanks. Go for it, just prepare to spend a lot of time processing the results.
@hiisileiri Thanks. I think those old games used hand drawn art because there weren't many digital artists those days and the image creating software wasn't very advanced. For me it wasn't faster at all, I spent way too much time processing the images on the computer and consequently had less time for polishing the gameplay.
@itzemii Thanks. That's the infamous keyboard snake (Python pianos pianos) from Australia
@sleepystudios Thanks, it did take me a long time to draw that and even more to cut it apart on the computer. Showing the next piece is a great idea, I'll remember it for a possible future expansion of the game.
@remco Thanks for the very thorough review. The floor is indeed an ellipse, but there's still a pretty large area where things don't slide too much, especially if you don't drop them from a big height. See my highscore below. Besides, the theme for this jam is unstable
highscore-small.png
As you can see, another good tactic seems to be to drop the big elephants directly into the lava until you run low on lives.
As for the animals appearing at the mouse cursor, I don't think that's a huge problem as you quickly learn to anticipate it and even use it to your advantage - use the current animal to steady the crumbling stack or even carefully push an already placed animal to a better spot. Besides, learning how to play better is part of the fun.
Those elephants are indeed too light, I should have set their weight to 4, and the dog's weight to 0.5 and the cats to 0.8. I'm sure I'll include this if I ever decide to expand this game.
The current score shows the number of animals on screen at the moment, while the highscore shows the highest number of animals anytime during the game, so it can be higher than your score at the end. This way you don't get punished for being brave and trying to stack too many animals and causing a collapse.
(As for Aiva, it's fine for little compo games, but I would never use it for a real game. Even my Jam game soundtracks are usually made by my composer friend, who even got a little freaked out about the AI that produced music that seemed to get more praise than his)
@varundevs Thanks, that's an incredible score, I couldn't get more than 25.
@molpe Thanks for making a video of yourself playing my game. It was fun to watch someone else play it.
@schwede Thanks, that's a good idea.
Nice Ikea commercial
Anyway, a very nice and fun to play stacking game. Things breaking on impact makes it harder but funnier and more on theme.
Cool, I always thought Pacman needed a gun. Shooting the walls isn't really what you want to do in this kind of game because they protect you from the enemies, but it was fun to shoot them anyway.
Anyway, the game is fun, the procedurally generated maps are good, the art and animations cute and the sound effects fit well.
Fun and funny game. The tilt control is a bit awkward, I think it would be better controlled by the keyboard or maybe a dead zone in the center would help. The spikes sometimes appear too close together. The game looks good, I especially liked the multilayered background.
I really wanted to win this game but couldn't figure out how to do it (anxiety just went up and up), so I opened up the javascript console and set anxiety to 0 at the start of the last day.
Anyway, I love the art style and all the different paintings. The music fits the atmosphere nicely too. The dialog really seems like something a paranoid schizophrenic would say. Great job.
Where's the game?
Great game! I built a city with 3450 residents. The game looks gorgeous, like a modern version of SimCity. Sounds effects are nice but the music gets a bit annoying after a while. Health bars are well done, but the repair bars are a bit too big, it's hard to see the buildings under them and click the right one.
I found one bug: when demolishing houses the house under the yes button gets demolished instead of the one you click on. Fortunately, if there is no house under the yes button, the right house gets demolished.
Interesting HR breakout. I like the graphics.
Great two part game. Easy relaxed searching for codes and a bit harder rocket programming puzzles. The world looks pretty, the tablet looks like tablets should look. The music is nice and relaxing and fits the game nicely.
Nice game, reminds me of the good old x-com with a little physics twist. I liked the music. Aiming was a bit hard. Turning the mouse wheel somehow acted as the left click.
Great idea and nice programmer graphics, but the difficulty is through the roof.
Interesting concept and a nice execution. The advanced structures take a bit too long to appear after they get unlocked, so I couldn't get anything more advanced than fields before the dragon ruined everything.
Cute game. Tilting mechanic was a bit confusing. A nice improvement would be if the game would auto-exit build mode after building something.
I got to 23. The game is fun and looks good. The lava looks exceptionally nice.
Cute but short.
This game is just amazing. I had to replay the whole because I picked too many mushrooms and flowers, but that just allowed me to see both endings.
The minimalist black and white art looks great and provides a nice atmosphere, the sound effects are very good, the story is interesting and the gameplay is fun.
The only thing missing is the ability to play fullscreen so the putting the cursor in the corners would be easier.
Nice game, completely on theme. The music was funny. The rope changing direction confused me, but I managed to get past a couple.
Nice game. The wacky turtles and the pretty ducks are my favorite items.
I think separate controls for the player and launcher would really work better. The white text of the max height display can't be seen over white clouds, but that solves itself as you climb higher.
I'm sorry, but I have no idea how to play this. I can move the little orange dot around but that's about it. How do you make a branch?
Thanks, I see now I was a bit blind and it's actually written under the game :face_palm:
Anyway, now that I was able to actually play, I see this is actually a very interesting concept game. I managed to get the head inside the green circle, and climbed there myself, but the whole thing collapsed after that. A couple of times the thing just exploded and a couple of times the game stopped responding and I had to close the browser tab, but that's just what the theme called for
Amazing game. The visuals are really consistent with an 80s Soviet nuclear power plant. I was able to finish the first station by just randomly clicking stuff because who reads the manuals anyway. That soon changed for the second one.
Good game. Looks and sounds nice, and is fun to play. It gets rather easy once you realize you have longer range than the enemies.
Great game, looks and sounds very pretty, only the puzzles are a little on the easy side.
Cool game, but hard as hell. A rhythmic puzzle platformer. Minimalistic design fits well.
Nice and fun little game. It looks nice, especially the special effects. I only wish there was a bigger level.
Interesting concept. The game has a nice consistent art and sounds. Hitting letters with the hammer was fun, stacking them high and then dropping them by removing a letter below was even more fun, putting words together words was fun too, but I have no idea what the goal of the game is.
Cool game. Very much on theme. Graphics are solid and it's fun to jump from domino to domino without knocking them over.
What a cute WALL-E lookalike robot. The backgrounds are nice. The game is really fun to play, but you can cheat by just spamming the horizontal bars. You could fix that by limiting the amount of material available for each bridge.
OMG, they killed Kenny, those bastard. But actually they didn't, I managed to win all 6 levels (impressive amount) without getting killed. Anyway, nice game, it looks and sounds good and consistent and is fun to play. I didn't even notice the bullets following the player until reading the comments.
Nice game. Just clicking like crazy seems to be the best strategy.
Cute game! I love the music and sfx. Some kind of height meter and highscore display would make it even better.
Nice game, but really really hard.
Please make the game available without having to jump through hoops.
Nice character.
What a nice little retro game. Gameplay, graphics, sounds and music fit very well together.
Yay, I saved everybody. I dig the minimalist graphics.
You couldn't make a more programmer's game than this. To make this game more on theme, you could've made it unwinnable, like having just 1 too many objects alive at the end.
That was surprisingly fun for a game where you can't do that much. The graphics and animations are great and the music is nice. Spitters seem to be the most useful creatures.
I don't know why, but seeing those cows tip over and slide around was funny as hell.
Nice fighting game. It reminds me of some old classics.
Pretty tower defense with a catchy tune. I wish I could buy more towers.
Nice game. I really liked how you provided different ship designs for different difficulty levels.
Funny game. The inflated rubber glove bunnies are cute. This would be great with some sounds and music.
This looks and feels like a real Japanese visual novel.. good job.
Great idea for a game! The simple artstyle fits this game perfectly. This game has a lot of potential with some fine tuning.
At first I didn't know what I was supposed to be doing and then I realized I just have to walk to the terminal every 9 seconds.
The concept seems good, but the game seems rather unfinished - more destinations with different timers would be a start.
A word of advice: don't name your game link Source download when it's actually a web game.. most people don't bother clicking on that.
Btw, was the code to enter actually 4 8 15 16 23 42?
This has to be the funniest game I've seen in this Ludum Dare. The grannies are very scary.
Nice game. The story is funny, the world looks pretty, the sounds are fun and the music is funky with a prehistorical vibe. By the way, are those monkey heads on the hogs?
Nice game, but the controls are rather awkward.
The game starts very tough but after a few upgrades each upgrade makes it much easier. I only wish I could continue playing after I won, I still got some upgrades I didn't have the chance to try. If you can get past the initial frustration, it can get quite addictive.
This is a fun little game. I really like the underwater effect.
Nice game. I didn't have problems with the controls like the other commenters.
Very pretty and fun game with nice music. I don't like the power going back down when you keep pressing the mouse button, I would prefer it grow a bit slower and stop at full power, like in Worms.
@theunusualart Thanks. Other upgrades besides wall and turrets were planned but were scrapped because of the lack of time. See [the plan](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/m-a-d-d/obligatory-ugly-whiteboard-pictures). This game seems like something I should develop further so I might just do that some time.
@dennis-magnusson Thanks. There wasn't enough time to balance the game properly, but I might just do that at a later date. I'll let the composer know about the music.
@bluedingo Thanks, that's a good idea.
@phats604 Thanks. The visuals can always be pushed some more, but in this case it's even more true, the turrets are more or less placeholders anyway.
@tristian-tee Thanks, it's great to know you really enjoyed playing this.
@steffo Thanks. It seems I missed that.
@dafluffypotato Thanks. I'm pretty sure bullets don't spawn everywhere, they just have the tendency to sneak up on you, especially when there's a lot of dead walls around you. I agree about the balancing, there just wasn't enough time for that.
@ryusui Thanks. So where do you think the walls should face if not directly in front of the player?
Nice game. The environment is very detailed and there's lots of stuff to do. Putting syringes in the weirdest parts of the patients body was fun. The only problem I had was too sensitive mouse controls.
The game looks pretty and the music fits well. It's a great concept, but unfortunately it's a bit too challenging.
Now that's a very cute game. It's simple and fun to play.
A pretty game with nice music, but it takes a lot of clicking. One way to make the game more friendly would be to allow players to drag resources on the monsters that needed them instead of clicking the monster and then the resource.
I really like the concept. The game looks great, the music and sfx are on point. The pun with naming the character Hugh was great.
That being said, it has some issues: The quad is hard to see because it's the same color as the trees and a rather indistinct round shape. I got stuck a couple of times moving from screen to screen. I also had some problems with the E button, after a while I just couldn't pick up the gas can anymore.
Great game and nice music. I usually really suck at rhythm games so I hate them, but this one was actually fun to play. I really struggled with the rhythm, then I calibrated and it worked flawlessly. The art looks nice and the music is great.
Nice game. It looks rather pretty and has a nice mood. Stepping back when attacked seems to be the best strategy.
Nice game but there are some glitches in the UI.
Where's the game?
A game made in scratch, cool.
What an interesting concept, playing with the help of other past players.
The rabbit is so very cute. The game seems very well polished, it looks pretty, the sounds are nice and the gameplay is satisfying.
Pretty game.
Great concept and pretty implementation, but there could be a bit more variety to it.
Funny game. The music fits well, especially the ending. Just how does a ship spring a leak on the upper decks?
Nice and simple, with graphics and sounds to match, good job.
This is a very unique and funny concept, and very well implemented too.
Only one thing is bothering me: who would eat a whole plate of dead flies?
Wait a moment! You and the snail are both immortal, but he can kill you but you can't kill him?. Shooting was fun even though it didn't do any damage to the snail so I kept shooting at it and to my surprise the snail actually disappeared, but then respawned after a while and got me. Anyway, fun and funny game with great voice acting.
Cute game and very cute fish. By setting players to 4 and just spamming the puff buttons (down, s, k and 5) you can go on forever without needing any friends..
Nice platformer with a unique blend of 2D and 3D art.
Nice and moody minimalistic space miner with a nice twist in the end. Simple graphics fit perfectly, and the sounds and music provide a nice atmosphere. A restart button after you run out of fuel would be really nice though.
Nice and simple minimalistic game.
Nice game, but with the one-hit and restricted movement it's very hard. Dodging bullets is too hard so the way I played was to fly around until I could approach the target without being in range of the turrets, then blast away. Which didn't leave me enough time to save Earth.
Simple and fun twin stick shooter. The gameplay is solid but the game is too easy because of too many health packs, so the inevitable the player is delaying is getting tired or bored. The game should get harder the longer you play (more and/or faster enemies, less machine guns) or start much harder so the inevitable happens because of the game getting too hard.
This certainly isn't a game for geriatrics, it's rather hard but nothing unmanageable. Making fun of yourself was funny and meta. The voice acting was perfect.
@dennis-magnusson Yeah, I was rather surprised by the fact that nobody else has beaten your game.
Nice game with nice graphics and pretty music. I only wish I could hold down the movement buttons instead of having to press them again and again.
The piggies are cute. Gameplay is simple and fun. You could make the size of the piggies depend on their weight.
Nice game. The art style is pretty unique, music and sounds are good and create a nice mood. The game is a little bit too hard because of the limited visibility. A bit chunk of the map was offscreen for me so it was hard to see when the danger was coming from the left tunnel.
Pretty game! Unfortunately it was too hard for me. I just couldn't jump over the first gap, even with holding down space for a while
Interesting concept but hard as hell.
A match colors puzzle game with a color mixing twist, I like it. It looks good too. The speedups take care of the inevitable ending part. I struggled a bit because the controls seemed to be reversed, before realizing that the platform was moving and not the dispenser, which is rather uncommon for this type of a game.
There seems to be a bug with the music: it stops when you start the game. It also stops when you check the "mute music" checkbox, but it doesn't come back when you uncheck it again.
The link provided only says "There was an error with your request".
Cleaning up has never been so fun. Great idea!
The game looks great and the music is nice.
The art looks good but is hidden behind the list. A smaller list, possibly on the side of the screen would show your art much better. If you can hide it, even better.
The timer runs too fast for comfort. I managed to get the first task done but no more. The timer does make the game adhere to the theme, but IMHO it also makes it less fun to play, especially at this speed. This could be a nice relaxing game of discovery.
Vow. The cat wizard is so cute and the rest of the game looks gorgeous and so polished and has so many levels it's hard to believe.
Nice game. I had to start over to reach the final piece of gold because my path to the other room was to convoluted.
Great game. Simple graphics work very well and the remains of the enemies create a pretty background. The difficulty ramps up very nicely. A score display would make this even better and more replayable.
The most impressive thing is that you actually made all this using plain javascript.
This game has a very unique look, I like it. Unfortunately I'm too dumb to figure out what I'm supposed to be doing. Some visual indication of the selected units would make this less confusing.
@someone They do? I didn't see any in firefox.
Great spooky atmosphere. The game is rather easy if you just ignore the candles and look at the map every 10 seconds.
Nice game! Unfreezing doesn't always work. I think it would be better if unfreezing was a toggle, so you could unfreeze more ice without having to click unfreeze icon again and again. A shortcut key would work even batter.
I gave up on your game on level 2 because I couldn't find the corridor behind the start. Fortunately I saw a comment about the amount of levels and went back. Anyway, the candles and lighting give this game a nice atmosphere, the sounds are funny but the laughter is bordering on annoying.
I like the alternative interpretation of the theme and the distinct graphics. The introduction text is a bit too fast for me.
Wow, that's a crazy amount of different minigames to cram into one Compo game. The games are really hard to win in 10 seconds, but I managed to win them all after many tries, more by luck than skill.
Nice game! The slingshot mechanic is fun to use.
Nice diving simulator. It would be great if I could use the keyboard to start the game instead of using the mouse, so I wouldn't have to switch inputs.
Nice gaming. There is a lot of stuff to remember tough.
I really dig the minimalistic design.
A nice take on the idle clicker genre. The 10 seconds delay is a too long even with all the upgrades. The final version of the pig is a nice surprise. I wish I could close the menu entirely to see the game better.
What a pretty dating sim. I had one on my brainstorming board, but I decided it was too complicated to do. Anyway, well done.
This is as meta as it can get. Great idea and good execution. I really like the artstyle.
Nice minimalistic puzzles. Unfortunately the controls are rather awkward.
Kudos for not making a game where something happens every 10 seconds.
Great looking game.
@gildar76 You're not supposed to hold down the buttons, just tap them to start moving and to change direction. Sorry if the instructions were unclear. I just made them clearer thanks to your feedback.
@thebmxeur Sorry if the instructions were unclear. I just made them clearer.
@mossieur-patate Thanks for the incredibly detailed review.
I definitely still think the theme was really really bad. A game mechanic shouldn't be a theme. It limits the kinds of games that can be made too much and you end up with a bunch of very similar games.
Good point about the keys. Time to start using unity's KeyCode constants instead of strings.
You are right about the enemies - they choose a random direction when they hit a wall. There just wasn't enough time to make them behave smarter. Besides, that would require a lot of rebalancing. Making them detect junctions like you suggestedd would be easier and less game-changing. Definitely something to start with in the post-jam version.
Spawn camping the enemies can be fixed by removing the incentive - no score for that, but that will have to wait for the post-jam version. You can still do it if you like, but it won't give you a better score.
I deliberately didn't give a sound to the picking of the coins because of the high speed. When going down a full corridor, the sound would trigger constantly and drown out the music.
Very innovative game, but also really hard to play.
Kicking lazy passengers around is so much fun! The game looks great and the music gets better and better.
This is the funniest game I've seen in this LD. The wacky movement makes it even funnier.
Interesting game. Spamming pieces seems to be the best way to go.
This game is really fun. I survived 28 waves. The monsters are very cute and the atmosphere is great. I only found one bug - I run out off the background.
Great idea with the time dilation.
What a cute game! Darn caterpillars kept knocking water off my ladybug so I couldn't help them much.
I didn't think corn mazes could be scary until now. The lighting creates a nice mood.
Pretty game. Nice idea. The gameplay is rather complex so some more instructions or even a tutorial would be nice.
Great idea! The game is very zen with its slow pace and pretty background.
This is a really cute game. It's fun to play, looks good, the music fits well and the super cute racoons appear on the prescribed amount of seconds.
Using a key like space for advancing through the text would make this even better (switching from mouse to keyboard and back can be bothersome).
Fun and beautiful. Good idea, having an escape room that resets every 10 seconds, but doesn't reset what you carry with you. I managed to escape after too many tries, but had fun doing it.
Nice game. Very retro. Some audio clue when the game changes or a countdown would make it even better.
Nice game with pretty art, but very hard and it requires much luck to just survive.
It would be great if the shelter could be controlled with the keyboard so I wouldn't have to constantly switch input from mouse to keyboard and back.
Nice atmosphere but it's hard to see anything. Some instructions on how to play would improve the experience a lot and a screenshot or two would make this description more appealing.
Simple but fun. The game doesn't reset properly after game over, but that is easily fixable by pressing F5.
Great take on the theme. The game looks and feels nice too.
Pretty farming game! The controls are a bit awkward though, it's really hard to position in the right spot for tool use.
Pretty game that fits the theme nicely. It would be great if all the places got some signs on them so you would know which is which without having to rely on color, which is far from obvious.
This is an interesting take on the classic PacMan with the night and day cycle triggered by time instead of eating something big. It reminds me of my game
The ghosts sure look better than mine
A minor downside is that there is not much to do during the night cycle.
Nice game but pretty hard. After many disasters I managed to power the console but had no idea what code to input.
An interesting twist on ye old minesweeper.
Great game. It looks good and is fun to play, even falling in the water was fun with all the different messages.
Nice game. Jumping animation looks really energetic. Theme is implemented well, but requires some waiting.
What a pretty spooky game! It's very atmospheric and fun and looks and sounds great.
Nice game with simple yet effective graphics. I think the 10 second mechanic works rather well.
This isn't a game, it's more like an experience. 10 seconds is a bit short interval for these kinds of puzzles, but I guess that's part of the experience.
Good job for first time. I'd love to diffuse more types of bombs.
Cute characters. Gameplay is quite unique, but it's a bit too convoluted for me.
Nice game. The controls need some getting used to, but after that, the game is not that hard anymore.
Nice game but it gets really hard really fast. Some instructions would make this game a lot easier to start playing, like "Drop packages in the id bin to get their id".
You could have named this game Fruit Invaders. Anyway, nice entry.
Nice game with pretty graphics and nice plant growing and cutting mechanics, but the orders come in way too fast and clutter up the screen until you can't see anything at all. I wish there was a way to play the web version in full screen, it's a pain playing in a tiny window.
This blend of Harvesting and Doom was a lot of fun and laughs.
Nice zen game. It took me a while to figure out how to break the walls, but after that it was so much fun that I didn't stop playing when reaching the top level. The game looks pretty and the music fits well.
Nice demo, this has potential for a real game.
Nice, a banana picking puzzle. The pixel art is cute and the gameplay is solid. I managed to get to level 7.
This looks really good and the mood is great. The game itself happens too slowly and it ends before you can purchase most of the stuff. I guess if you implemented more levels, we would get to use all the stuff.
Only the evil Harkonnen would be evil enough to not only use humans for bait, but as actual food for the sandworms, which isn't lore-accurate, sandworms don't produce spice from the humans they consume, but that doesn't make the game any less fun to play. The art is good, the screaming was great and the music fits nicely.
Great entry, an alien caterpillar that produces crop circles and chases away farmers. The game is rather challenging because of the controls and very frequent farmer visits, but winnable.
Great idea and a nice and fun game. The animations are cute, only the spinning effect can't be seen clearly - maybe some wobble would enhance it.
Nice combination of farming and flying simulators. The puzzle aspect is fun. I like the clean and simple 3d models.
I think the game would benefit greatly if the tractor controls were rotated by 45 degrees, having to press 2 buttons to go straight is not ideal (or hitting the perfect 45 degree angle with a controller stick).
Nice crop circle making simulator. If only there was an overhead view to see the resulting pattern.
Fun little alien farming simulator.
A nice physics-based puzzle. Getting the same wrong fruit and having to ditch over and over again was rather frustrating though.
Great game! Very zen world building experience. Voxel graphics looks great, sounds effects are cool and the music fits well.
Great art, the little reaper is reaper is really cute.
Nice game. The snail medicine was the best.
I never thought digging graves could be so much fun. The game looks great and the atmosphere is fantastic, mostly thanks to the music. I found one minor bug.. the game doesn't reset properly if you play again, so you keep all your powerups. The game doesn't work on Firefox so I had to play on Chrome.
The part of the game you managed to make looks good and is playable, it's a pity you couldn't finish it.
Great idea, controlling a guy living inside an ATM machine and serving people money harvested on trees. Platforming and simple math combined well.
At first I thought "Oh no, another farming game." But then I realized there's a twist, playing an evil rabbit trying to steal from a poor farmer. The game is fun to play and looks good, with a big difference between night and day, accentuated by the music.
A nice twist on the dating simulator! Gameplay is simple but fun, the art is beautiful, voice acting is funny and the music fits well.
There's one bug though.. the sounds stop playing when you start again.
@leoatopos That is a feature. You only lose cat souls you collected in the current level, the souls from the previous levels are safe from Cthulhu.
@joanna-skorupa Thanks. That's a good idea. You get to the next level by catching all the cats in a level.
@avareii Thanks. Cthulhu takes 3 souls back (but only those you picked in the current level so it might even take 0). Good idea about the indicator, it's already on my future improvements list.
@hayricakir Thanks. Yeah, I recorded the sound effects (if you can call them that) with my phone.
@wouter52 Thanks.
What Harvey says is: "WON'T HURT.", "WHY?" and "THAT WILL DO." using his special voice like Death from the Discworld series, which might explain why it's hard to understand by mere mortals.
A few seconds to contemplate your achievement after completing a level is a great idea.
@Ido Thanks. Sure it ends, you only needed a few more.
@tweekstudios Thanks. Never mind that, it's just a warning.
@bloodycoin Thanks. An cat indicator was actually planned, but there just wasn't enough time to implement it during the jam. Minimap with a fog of war is a great idea, I'll use it if I ever decide to expand this game.
Nice market simulator with a touch of tetris. Fruits look good and the relaxed music fits nicely.
Nice take on the match-3 genre.
Cool little game. I like the harvesting mechanic.
Nice Mexican farming game. I'm not sure if I was supposed to kill the animals or not. I couldn't prevent the disease either way.
Being a dragon is so much fun. Shooting fireballs on a ballistic trajectory is really satisfying. There is a strong Angry Birds vibe to this game.
Unfortunately I got stuck under some big bricks once and couldn't get out and had to restart the game.
A never-ending stream of strangely muscular carrots grows from a tiny pot with the help of a blue Lego-man. Cute game, even if a bit unfinished (like nothing happens when the timer runs out).
Nice game but rather short.
Nice game with pretty graphics. A full-screen button for the web version would be handy, it's a pain playing in a tiny window.
Nice, three games in one and an environmental message at the end. I liked the music and the howling of the wind. One thing that could be improved is removing the unnecessary dialog when starting new rounds of the mini games.
Great game. This is really fun to play. I love the idea of the same substance being your fuel and material to sell. The minimalistic graphics looks great, the sound effects are perfect and the music fits nicely. Flying around is really fun, especially after you get FTL and asteroid protection and you can go flying around like a madman.
Nice game, kill enemies to get the seeds, then plant them.
This game isn't corny at all. I like the concept that reverses expectations. Simply avoiding mice instead of fighting seems the best strategy. I managed to win after losing too.
Great game. The grim reaper looks and moves great, the platforming is solid, puzzles are fun and the humor was over the top. The only thing that bothered me was not being able to use the W key to jump so i couldn't use the WASD keys only. The game is perfectly on theme, nobody said you have to make a farming simulator.
Nice game, it reminds me of Orwell. Scrolling through AI generated twitter simulation and emails searching for info felt more like work than play, but actually finding something felt like an achievement.
I'd love to see a casual mode where you don't have to pay for that VPN and can take your sweet time fulfilling the contracts and try to find every bit of info on a person.
Funny and fun to play game with cute piggies and a moral. I think it would be more intuitive if the jump was mapped to a keyboard button such as space or W instead of the left mouse button and shooting was mapped be done with the more common left mouse button.
Pretty game! It's not very hard once you figure out how to play.
Great looking game with a sinister atmosphere. Slashing the enemies (and even wheat) feels really satisfying.
Nice game, very x-massy. It looks good and plays well. Even just moving around feels satisfying.
Nice game with a funny premise. I had a bit of a trouble transferring the gas from the gas fields at start, but then I figured out I need to click on the base of the farm, not just anywhere. Some sort of end goal would make this better. The lack of sounds makes this game feel like it's happening on a planet without an atmosphere.
Congrats on your first LD entry. The game itself is fun, but rather short and easy.
Nice start of a game. I like the clean graphics.
That's an interesting take on the theme. I'd love to see an expanded version of this.
This seems like a nice game, but I have no idea how to actually play it.
Pretty and fun, but the difficulty ramps up too fast.
Nice game. I especially liked the hallucinogenic effect of the fruit.
Rather unique gameplay. Sadly, I was only able to unlock 3 of the bad endings.
This is a very pretty game with nice and fitting music. The fighting is very tough though.
Rhythmic harvesting, now that's something you don't see everyday. Graphics is nice, but I can't judge the gameplay, because I have no sense of rhythm.
Nice game. The graphics are nice even with the main character missing a body. I especially like the main character getting skewered on the pitchfork.
Cute and funny game.
Good job, submitting a game in your own engine. The huge world is an accomplishment in itself, but it does turn your game into a walking simulator. I laughed when I reached the end of the world and was just able to keep going over the void.
Fun game. At first it was hard to hit anything, but then the upgrades came.
This is a nice modern take on the text adventure genre, pressing buttons is so much easier then typing commands and having all the information about the environment and inventory always on the screen is great.
This is a nice Pizza delivery simulator. I only wish the walk-in customers would make some noise when they arrive.
Nice game, I think I won.. run out of tracks. The game looks good and the lighting and sparks makes it pretty.
Nice game. It's quite a challenge with these controls, Bennett Foddy would be proud. Btw, your web build needs a fullscreen button.
What a fun game! The ragdoll effect was great. My highscore was 7.
What a pretty game! It's a shame the pigeons ate all the addresses on the envelopes so the insides had to be inspected, but then we wouldn't have the pleasure to inspect them
One thing that I would like to see improved is the basket giving a reaction when you return a letter, so you know you made the right decision.
This game captures some of the Crazy Taxi vibe with the arrows and the colors. However, the car is rather hard to control and navigation is kind of like you're in heck (which does fit the title).
Nice tower defense game, but there are some balance issues.
This is a fun little old-school text adventure. I would love to play more of it.
Nice homage to Papers, please. Gameplay is on point and the music is soothing.
@arron-fowler Good catch, it should be jam. Fortunately I was able to fix this. Thanks, you're a lifesaver.
@wouter52 Thanks, I'm glad you had fun.
The hat sure made it, but seems to be missing from some of the splash screens
@praccen Thanks. I'm sorry you had problems. Each baby animal needs to be brought to a pink platform and touch it without you or it touching the ground. Figuring out where to bring the animal is supposed to be part of the challenge and fun of the game. Anyway, the pink hippo needs to be brought forward over two hills (which you must have figured out if you got to the next level), while the gray rhino (I guess I must have given it too small of a horn and the blue background creates an optional illusion of green) needs to be brought backwards to the platform you go past on the way there. You can check out my gameplay video in the description to see exactly what to do.
@kitira Thanks. There actually is a "Thanks for playing screen", but if you press space too many times on the last level, which is easy to do because the end is on the ceiling, the game just skips it. I guess I should have used a different button for dismissing the splash screens or introduce some kind of delay.
That has to be the fastest rabbit ever. Anyway, nice puzzle game. It was just hard enough for me to get through, but easy enough not to give up, which is just perfect.
Interesting concept, but just too difficult to be fun.
Nice word game.
There's nothing like running around us a big wacky orange dog, whether you deliver packages on the way or not. I didn't have any issues with the controls (using mouse and keyboard) like some people mentioned.
Really interesting gameplay, by using vehicles to both build connections and destroy enemies. Graphics and sfx provide a suiting retro mood too.
As Philip J. Fry would say: I'm a delivery boy! Dying by tripping on a space cookie a second after killing a space zombie and ridiculous ways has never been so fun. Anyway, this game is really fun to play and looks great.
A cute brain teaser with a catchy jingle.
That's an interesting take on Tetris.
What a beautiful game! Rowing was fun and the text was funny. The music fits well too.
The game is very moody and atmospheric, but the amount of clicking required to get anywhere is a bit too much.
A really nice and solid traffic puzzle game. The difficulty is just about right, I managed to get through all the levels. Some music and sound effects would make this even better.
This game is really funny. I'm not sure if the hens are trying to help you by giving you too many eggs or making you lose them or they are trying to hinder you by doing the same. I like how you get different culinary results depending on the number of eggs.
Nice take on the Space Invaders genre with the upgrades. However, the game gets too hard pretty fast.
This is just meowtastic. I love the funny voice acting, the funny raps and especially the texts during driving.
Great game. Shooting letters feels very satisfying, especially when you hit the box people. Why oh why do you get negative points for such a fun activity?
The world looks good, the movement is fluid and the newspaper shooting mechanic is nice. Folding grass is fun, that should've been on by default. A bit bigger level and some sound and music would make this much better. Climbing on top of the tallest trees was fun too.
A great looking and spooky point'n'click adventure.
This is one pretty game! Some of the stuff the souls wanted to do before moving on was really hilarious. The timer likes to run out while you're searching for the next soul, I think it would be better if it only run while actually carrying a soul. This would make the game a bit easier and allows us to just explore the beautiful world you built.
It's funny, I made a made a stork delivery game too, but yours is totally different than mine.
Anyway, this is a nice game of matching the right stork to the right path. The screen effects and noisy sound provides a nice 80s wibe.
The world is really huge and very pretty, but driving is just too hard. The truck just jumps and flips for no apparent reason, even on a stretch of a completely straight and level road. It's rather funny when it happens with no cargo, but actually delivering something gets frustrating pretty fast. I did manage to deliver part of a cargo on a very short trip and another time I delivered part of a cargo even thought the truck bed was completely empty.
A fun single-player co-op puzzle platformer. That's one very powerful drone, being to able to lift a whole fridge.
I got stuck in a room between two doors on one of the levels when I flew the drone inside it instead of running the fridge out of it, so I had to restart the whole game
Fun minigames. The first one was really fun, would love to see longer version. Second wasn't as fun as the others. Third one was fun and pretty, but too hard for me, I only managed to kill 4 birds.
Memory and snake, that's an interesting combination. The caterpillar is rather cute.
You should mention somewhere that you're supposed to bring the caterpillars what they wont (the fruit that flashes in their place before they appear), as people are confused about what to do. You can put that in the description of the game.
A fun and pretty game. The very high jumping by the character was super fun. Throwing boxes was fun and very useful once I got the hang of it.
Great puzzle action game with many levels. Bouncing the box over the spikes was very hard, I almost gave up, but persevered and got to the end of the game. The tune is catchy but it stops after a while.
This is really spooky, good job.
A pretty little witch and a fun game.
The title made me think this game was about delivering whales, but delivery by whale is fun too.
Object clicking detection seemed a bit off to me.. I had to click on upper parts of planets and packages for it to register and in the menu I actually had to click above the buttons (maybe that only happens on my non-standard 1920x1200 screen resolution). Planning routes is fun, but putting packages on the whale gets a bit tedious after a while. The whole flying through space part of the game was a bit too easy for me.
This is really fun to play. The game looks really good and the music fits well.
The drone is a bit too slow to catch objects all the way on the other side of the screen, so it seems best to concentrate on one side of the road (the one that the truck is closer to).
Wow, I never thought I'd see Tetris crossed with Pipe Dream. It's a really cool concept. It seems rather hard at first but it gets easier once you get used to playing.
The objective blocks get in the way of placing pieces, I think it would be better if the pieces would pass right through them.
Nice game! The mushroom side effects are hilarious. The controls are good but I missed quite a few jumps for some reason. I wanted to deliver all the parcels, so I had to restart the game / kill the character a couple of times to start again with all the parcels, which was a bit annoying.
Nice concept. I restarted the first level countless times because I thought I failed when I got shot and nothing happened for several seconds. Turns out I was just supposed to wait.
Cool, an old-school text adventure in this day and age. It's nice of the old man to respawn after you kill him, get out of the room and back again.
Nice and simple.
Nice retro game, but really really hard. The sound effects are a bit too loud compared to the music.
Fun little game. It looks pretty. After a while the theme really kicks in with not enough space on the counter. A scoring system, sounds and music would make it better.
Throwing poop at clowns has never been so fun. At least until Trump shows up.
Nice puzzle game. Having to move maneuver pieces around other pieces to get them were they are needed adds a whole new (sometimes frustrating) dimension. Great that you added camera controls because otherwise its really hard to judge where everything is.
A very nice and fun shoot'em'up! It starts really hard because the initial cannon is dangerous to use as it shoots against enemy bullets, but if you survive the first level without getting the cannon destroyed and can get some sideways mounted cannons (or maybe even just rotate the initial one) it gets rather easy and some smart upgrades can keep you going for a long long time.
Nice chill game.
Whatever you leave in the water or put back in it doesn't disappear. If it gets filled you only get a message about catching a fish but no actual fish :smirk:
Pretty game! I really liked the lighting effect. Having to light your way gives an entirely new dimension to the game.
I wasn't entirely sure how to actually pick up the flowers.. do I need to click on them or press something or wait by them to pick them? Unfortunately the character got stuck a couple of times.
Nice shooter game. It's hard until you get some powerups. Losing all the powerups after losing life is rather brutal.
My Firefox froze for a couple of seconds a couple of times. It mostly happened when hitting the first enemy.
This game is rather confusing and too time consuming to figure out while many other games wait for some attention. Also: you can only get 1 stars from me for AI-generated images.
@wakobu @achiru While the rules might allow you to use AI to generate images, I don't have to like it. I find AI generated images generic, derivative and frankly, soulless and boring. I'd much rather see stick figures than AI generated stuff. You didn't opt out of graphics rating so you're getting a graphics rating and as I see it, you didn't show any graphics skills at all. Graphics rating is for graphics skills, not for interaction with AI. And don't get me started on the ethic issues.
I find every bit of feedback useful, except the totally general ones like "Nice game." or "I don't really like your game". If you know your game is confusing to some people, you can try to make it clearer next time, by explaining the game better or something. Often people only get a general feeling about a game and not a clear solution so it's up to you to find it.
Why are the green bears committing mass suicide? The low-poly bears are charming. Shooting arrows feels fun and I like how the arrows stay stack in the enemies and how they tumble around when hit. The enemies don't seem to be doing any harm, so the game ends only when you get tired of it.
This is so silly and fun. A spaceship powered by what I'm assuming are farts. The art is appropriately silly too. Your take on the theme is very literal. I just wasn't sure if I was supposed to fight the creatures or avoid them, as the score is only show at the end and there is no health indicator (except the ship getting red at some point).
Nice game, looks cute and is simple but addictive. It starts nice and easy and gets hard real fast. I lost a couple of times because I was forced to expand the wrong way and couldn't fit the shark the right way.
@Knildropi Thanks, that is a good idea. I certainly will work on this some more.
@mein-kun I think you mean the cubes should be heavier. That is a good idea. I'll experiment with the cube weight and forces and see what works best. Thanks.
@kanity Thanks for the very thorough review. Judging by your score it seems the game is more playable than I anticipated. And you are right, blocks need to be on the same level to disappear.
@mncc8337 Thanks. There actually are sound effects, but apparently not loud/distinct enough as they get drowned by the music. I guess I'll have to make some better ones.
@draekdude Thanks. I tried using heavier blocks like you and @mein-kun suggested, but they tend to roll over too much when dragged over the ground. Version 0.50 has them.
@croze :face_palm: If you assume you make an ass of u and me. This is an EXTRA game, it's supposed to be updated right until the end. Ratings are irrelevant in this format anyway, you're just supposed to give me feedback on the latest and greatest version. So no, I didn't fail at making a game, you failed at looking at it! So thanks for nothing. :face_palm:
@aucguy Thanks. Let's call that small bug a feature
@knildropi @mein-kun @gossian @neowedge @fatemperor @kanity @mncc8337 @psv-games-studio @betovf @kairoseyoshi @draekdude @patbgames @cdunham The game is now complete.
@aaln Thanks for the notes. I don't think you got it quite right. The blocks do get red quickly, but you can make them green again by pushing them around with other blocks. I don't know anything about Not Tetris 2, but I believe my game takes a different approach to making it easier to play, so filling a line (either direction except vertical) (not the whole layer) with 5 blocks isn't that hard. The blocks that are approximately correctly placed (green) also get a correcting force that pulls them to the correct spot and orientation.
I also made a gameplay video that explains it better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyeIWMfirn4
This game is cute and atmospheric, but very hard. It would be better if the mouse wasn't needed for starting/restarting the game. Switching controls is awkward. And why is the game window so small?
This looks interesting, I hope you can finish it.
The pixelated graphics, muted color scheme (almost like an old amber monochrome display) and especially the music give this game a real retro vibe.
The game is just about hard enough to be a challenge and not a frustration. I love the optional challenge that you have to complete quickly.. it allows two distinct play styles with different difficulties that you can instantly switch - either going at breakneck speed to get the star in time or going nice and slow and easy to just get to the exit. But even the nice and easy mode only got me to level 20.
You have some really weirdly shaped furniture pieces :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
The game itself is just like tetris with its biggest feature removed and some different pieces, so you won't get many stars for innovation, but you'll get many on theme. The game itself is well executed and fun to play.
This game is very pretty with its minimalist esthetic and the book effect is great. However, it's a bit hard to distinguish the background from the important stuff like enemies and crates and weapons and sometimes even platforms. The gameplay itself is fun. There is a problem with the number of lives not resetting properly when you fail the game.
A nice and simple game.
Since we have to use the mouse to aim, it would really make sense to use the mouse button to shoot instead of space. It's really awkward to play like this.
Cute fighting puzzle game. It's rather on the easy side.
This is a very cute game. Unfortunately you made the sheep even dumber than they are in real life, so the game gets really hard real fast.
A really nice zen puzzle game. Graphics are pretty and the music is soothing. Only tutorial seems longer and harder than the actual game :smirk:
Interesting game, reminds me of Captain Forever. I wish there were more than 3 levels to really show off all the modules.
Pretty little island builder. It's all about finding a balance. Going for money first works best.
Simple and fun game. It starts really easy (don't have to actually do anything for a while) and then it slowly get more and more chaotic. I managed to get 430. Planes look like planes, the warning sounds are fun and the music is soothing. The changing flightlines are very clearly displayed.
A nice and simple game.
It feels awkward to have to click all the way down at the bottom of the trolleys to move a parcel there instead of anywhere on or above it. Same goes for picking them up again.
I think it would be even more intuitive (and thus fun) if the parcels could be dragged to their destination.
I thought I was playing some kind of tetris and was supposed to fit all the blocks, but figured out it was impossible. I noticed I can click continue anyway and got to a whole new game that I have no idea how to play - I can click people and destinations (or something) and I guess something happens to them when I click continue, but I have no idea why.
Also.. the music gets repetitive rather fast.
I managed to get stuck in your game. I filled every spot with something and couldn't get rid of the tool in my hands and go inside the house to sleep. Also after I started writing this comment I couldn't get back in the game. I guess I'll have to reload it.
Anyway, cute kid art and a soothing music selection.
Nothing new. Mike usually catches such thing before they get out though.
Interesting puzzle game, albeit a bit short and easy.
There's just one problem.. you can put item on top of other items and don't have to actually solve the puzzles.
Very scary and beautiful game. At a point I managed to pick up too many antidotes and could only pick up one more item. Fortunately some of the survivors got bitten so I could ditch those and survived. I wish there was a way to drop items, but that would make the limited space less impactful.
Your web version of game is not working.
"Unable to parse Build/Reborn_IamthekingofAPPs_web.framework.js.br! This can happen if build compression was enabled but web server hosting the content was misconfigured to not serve the file with HTTP Response Header "Content-Encoding: br" present. Check browser Console and Devtools Network tab to debug."
You should set compression to gzip (or even disable it) in unity publishing settings and reupload.
I have no idea whatsoever what I'm supposed to be doing in this game. I can click a cell to highlight it, but I have no idea with kind of an effect that has.
How do you play this? Neither the mouse or the keyboard do anything.
Pretty game, but I couldn't figure out how to do anything but run around. Is there anything else to do in it?
Nice shooter without the actual shooting.
Interesting idea but there is not much of actual gameplay here. You certainly know how to use AI, that might help you in the future
I would never think a combination of sokoban, snake and tetris could even work let alone this good. The theme is spot on too.
I wish there was an undo button (at least one level) in addition to reset because it's really easy to make a mistake. There seems to be something wrong with your winning position detection.. I got past level one without solving it correctly. I restarted the game to make sure and I got past level 2 the same way too.
This game is rather broken. Graphics look cute though.
The executable needs 42 more bytes.
Nice game. Very easy. The traps don't pose any real danger, just make drag The background and concentric circles makes it rather psychedelic.
I'm not sure if it technically qualifies even as extra, as it took more than 3 weeks to complete, but ok.
Cool game, reminds me a lot of Mirror's edge. The gameplay is very smooth. I missed some of the last pieces of dialog because I was still smashing space. I'd suggest a different button for advancing text.
Nice educational game. It would be nice if you made all the stuff you planned.
What if someone comes to play your game with a Dvorak keyboard layout? It shouldn't matter what keyboard layout people have. You should program your game to use keyboard button detection that is independent of the layout (like KeyCode constants in Unity).
Anyway, this is a pretty unique game. It looks great and has a great moody atmosphere. The ending was funny too.
I managed to cheat, in the last level I just ignored the bells and lighting candles, as I remembered which parts of runes were on which keys. To avoid this, the candles going out should hide the required runes too and the ringing the bells should be enforced somehow.
Nice concept. Damn that cold that prevented you from doing more.
Great vertical shooter with a helper summoning twist. The game has nice retro look with great sound effects. I can't tell much about the music as it's drowned in the sound effects. Being able to add stuff after pressing space to get the best parts was a great idea.
Nice brain puzzle.
Instructions are unclear.
2. What does points that follow from the place you put the first candle mean. Follow around the circle to the left? right? both? Across the pentagram? 7. There is no "et and no "prof" in the list so not sure what to do..
There are too many points of failure to try all the combinations of them so I gave up. Maybe I could win if there was some indication of what I did wrong.
I pushed the exit button in the web version and the universe didn't end. Anyway, the game looks good and is fun to play, but a little too easy.. I got to level 55 or something.
This is fun but has some balancing issues, which is understandable given the short time.
@zimny11 Thanks for the review and the suggestions. The yellow brick road is a reference to the Wizard of Oz, so it has to be yellow and made of brick.
This has strong Human Fall Flat wibes. Its frustratingly hard, I was only able to jump in the chasm and climb to the first upward pointing sign. The hands are hard to tell apart, some color coding would work better than just the position of the thumbs.
Also.. the description on the game page seems to be for a completely different game about mages.
I managed to start the game by pressing the big start button, then scrolling down in the frame and opening the frame in a new window. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to play it. All I saw was a green rectangle, a purple rectangle and a bunch of zeroes I could click on.
You got a pretty unique esthetics in this game, but it makes finding a path through the dense forest rather hard. I managed to sacrifice a few foxes (or are they squirrels?) but those pesky bucks got me too many times.
Good game with great music, funny sound effects and cute graphics, but too hard for me. It would be much better if the enemies were a different color than friends.
Great game. Failing is us much fun as succeeding. Anyway, nice graphics, great sound effects and a creepy atmosphere.
I never expected a console-based summoning game. Good job. I wish I could summon some dogs too.
Liar, that was the most unrealistic cat behavior ever :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Cute game with a cute witch and a cute cat and soothing music. Some instructions on how to play the game wouldn't hurt.
I managed to summon all the creatures on the first try, then went and tried failing them all for laughs. Wasn't disappointed.
Anyway, this is a very nice take on the theme, with nice graphics and mood. The sigils vary in complexity a lot, some were very easy to draw, others were almost impossible. Fortunately desired accuracy is just low enough for the game to be fun.
Nice and funny combination of a visual novel and typing game. The only thing you could improve is the readability of the letters in the typing game.
Nice twist, being the summonee instead of the summoner.
The game looks good and is fun to play and the demon has some funny stuff to say.
That's the bluest game I have ever played. And that's my favorite color. I never expected to see character customization in a LD game. Anyway, good job.
I never thought I'd see letters fight each other. This is fun and well executed. It could be a little harder.
Great to see someone going the "court summons" route. The game looks great and very polished. I wish there were other distinguishing features beside color and horns, as some of the darker colors were hard to tell apart. I also didn't like playing in a tiny window on my 4k screen. A fullscreen option or some kind of scaling would be great.
The maze is designed very well and incredibly huge. I failed to find the last candle, I think there is a catch that I couldn't figure out.
Why must I play in little tiny window? It's hard to see anything on my 4K screen.
Got stuck going through the third portal without a pumpkin. There should either be a portal back or the third portal should be unreachable until you get pumpkins. The warning text just isn't enough for some of us idiots.
Anyway, a rather unique take on the theme, a combination of planting and platforming. The hippy main character looks great.
Nice moody game. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to be doing though.
There is something wrong with your mouse handling routine, I kept drifting right. I'd really appreciate a fullscreen button. It's rather hard to play in a tiny window on a 4K screen.
Great idea for a game. It's well executed too. It seems easy but gets hard quickly. The only problem I had was hard to read text and numbers.
Nice idle game. The helpers look pretty, and it's pretty funny when they get stuck lying on the ground.
You should capture the mouse cursor, my mouse drifted out of the screen to my second monitor (similar thing happens if you play in a window).
This is a nice slow-paced game with minimalistic graphics. Pushing keys in the right order is an interesting way to summon creatures. The difficulty lies in concentrating on what is happening and inputting the right sequence at the same time.
There are some minor issues. If you place the summoning area at the bottom of the screen, you can't see it because the panel is in the way. Using ESC to got to the tutorial in web version throws you out of fullscreen mode too so you have to press the fullscreen button again.
So.. where's the game at?
Easter came early this year! As a photographer I find this game very fascinating. Unfortunately I only managed to find 5 ladybugs and 2 bells. I couldn't find the on-eared rabbit, only a bunch of two-eared ones. I see the letter L but nothing happens when I click it. Sadly the music gets kind of annoying after a while.
Nice platformer. This game takes some time to get used to but then it plays quite smoothly. I managed to get to the high-gravity (pink) part before giving up.
The pixel graphics are nice and the sounds are fun. I really liked the different environments with different gravity. The music is a bit annoying though, too many high notes and too repetitive.
Beautiful game! Bringing color to a gray world is a great idea. I love the story.
Using the right mouse button is a bit problematic, sometimes it brought me the browser's right mouse menu instead of sucking in the colors and the controls got confused after that for a while.
Skiing over grass feels so wrong :smirk: Anyway, a nice sliding game with a fun feeling of speed.
Nice game. I like how it makes you choose between keeping your ship straight and going in the right direction. Those giant waves hitting from behind are a pain.
You should leave some feedback on other people's games to get more ratings yourself. Just rating doesn't cut it. It would be a shame such a nice game didn't get enough ratings.
This is a very interesting concept but not much of a game. You're not seriously expecting people to play this for four hours just to get the egg hatched?
A nice little puzzle platformer. It's rather on the easy side (especially compared to mine). The instructions are nicely spaced to not become overwhelming. Those hidden passages behind fake spikes got me stuck for a few moments.
This game is a bit confusing but I figured it out eventually. It's certainly unique. I like the minimalist graphics. The sounds and the music are nice too.
Scary game! The monster is really well done. The same brick walls everywhere made it a bit hard to navigate around.
@team-9tailed Can you try again? I did some background optimizations and I wonder if it's any better for you now.
Anyway, thanks for the review. I was actually thinking of adding a faster descend button but never got around to it. Or Cubethulhu could do something funny while descending.
@matthewdrake That's weird, I had no framerate issues even in 4K, as you can see in my video above. Maybe I need to add a Windows export.
@team-9tailed @matthewdrake @bluephoenix266 @deformhead I've made a simplified version of the game with sprite fire instead of 3D. It works much better on a very old laptop now so you shouldn't have any problems now.
https://flyingdogfish.com/ld57simplified/index.html
@team-9tailed Great, thanks for the feedback!
@someone That 3-tile-long fire before a wall is really hard, good job getting through. If this game goes any further, I'll probably lower that wall. The coins are there just for fun and a sense of achievement. They could eventually allow you to buy something in an ingame shop, but that is completely out of the scope for this jam.
@fraukauz Thanks for the review. The hearts behind the walls (and some other stuff) are there just for show.
@carraka Thanks for the review and the questions. Cthulhu has rudimentary wings so he can at least them to slow down its descent and to jump higher. We're going down because Cubethulhu wants to return home. The coins are there so he doesn't get bored on his way down.
Cute game with pretty art. The only problem is it's too easy. I managed to beat it without moving even once, just putting the mouse cursor on one of the monsters. Didn't even have to kill the other one.
Cute moles. A combination of racing and digging seems impossible but you pulled it of nicely.
Why are the Roombas after me? Anyway, a solid platformer. The special abilities that you collect are a nice touch.
This game is very weird. And that's great. The psychedelic background and music fit very well.
A nice little mostly-text-based adventure. As others mention, the controls could be improved.
Nice mining game. It's certainly not boring. Reminds me of "A game about digging a hole", only in 2D. I got all the way to the bottom. I just wish you had time to implement more upgrades.
How do I play this? I can move the platforms, but I don't know how to move the character. It just sits there whatever I press and sometimes it jumps forwards after I repeatedly smash 1-8 keys. Do I need a controller?
@halogen Well that helped a bit, but most of the time the character just doesn't want to start jumping. Once it starts, it seems to be working fine until a platform appears at the top of the screen and it's impossible to continue.
Nice puzzle. I got through the second part by using all the 25 mirrors and didn't see anything to aim for after that and aren't sure if that's a win or there is more.
Death is a bit of harsh punishment for stealing pain meds. Anyway, great idea and nice minimalistic graphics.
Great idea and a nice look of the game. Unfortunately it's very hard to play because of the awkward controls.
A very unique idea for a game. It has a nice visual novel vibe.
The music is very quiet, I could barely hear anything even on 100% system loudness.
The X key stops working after a few conversations so I couldn't really play. Tried 4-5 times and it stopped working after different number of conversations. EDIT: Oh lol, I guess that was the end of the game.
Cool game. It's too hard for me though, couldn't get more than 130. It looks good and the music fits really well.
Great game. I only wish it didn't go so brutally hard so soon. Some easier levels to ease into the game would make this much more fun. I think I gave up on level 6. Waiting to try again felt a bit too long too. Otherwise, nice visuals, suitable background music and some funny voices.
Fun game. It's even more fun when you fail :D There's a lot different thing to stick stuff into.
Nice game. And pretty. It seems hard at first, but it got easier once I grokked the gameplay. The items always appear in the same places and layer so you can actually memorize which one is fake and which isn't. Some randomization of the items between layers and their position would prevent that.
I wish the sounds would tell whether I was right or wrong instead of having to rely on the text below.
And what's with the scanner? It doesn't seem to do anything and there are enough clues without it anyway.
Great game, minimalist graphics, nice music, but hard as nails. I think I got to the end. Some checkpoints along the way would be nice, repeating the same things over and over is not much fun.
Nice stickfishman. Upgrading stuff is a nice touch. A rhythm game without music or any other indication (either audible or visible) of the timing fells rather weird.
@phasmantic No, no, I didn't get that bug. I just wish there were additional indicators.
Your embedded game doesn't work.
I didn't know spiders could fly. Or is that just an infinite jump glitch? The web doesn't seem to actually do anything. Spike collision detection is way to sensitive too. The game is fun even with these glitches. Or maybe because of them. The spider looks really cute.
The page with your game says "429 Too Many Requests" and doesn't work for me.
Pretty game. The descent was easy enough, but the boss was hard. A checkpoint at the bottom of the sea would be very hand as it takes so long to get there that I gave up on trying to beat the boss.
@accardo What's the problem? Just scroll down the frame with the game and press the blue arrows button to go fullscreen.
Nice blocky game. The building stage seems to short to place all the stuff you've collected through the day. There seems to be some bugs, like the character just continuing to move in a direction without pressing any buttons and one time the night phase just didn't end. Those blah blah sounds are quite funny.
The controls felt a bit weird, but then I got used to them and it was fun. Collecting random items was fun, collecting animals and people even more so. I love how the items just follow you around in a line.
Sorry, I don't have time to compile your game. Even downloading would be too much to ask.
Interesting game, but it gets too easy once you figure out all the answers. A more substantial number of different prompts and responses would make it more interesting, especially if the opponents wouldn't use exactly the same ones.
Great idea and good execution. You should add "mouse to aim" somewhere in your instructions, I only read that in another comment. I got stuck inside a tall block once when a timer expired and had to restart. Gameplay is unique and fun, the game looks nice and the music fits well.
Nice game, but some more instructions would make it better, I didn't really know what I was doing.
A pretty and pretty fun puzzle game. The best strategy seems to be to multiply a field until it's higher than required score and wait to go get a collect tile.
I don't even know what a plinko is, so I had a little trouble understanding that scoring involves hitting the obstacles. Anyway, cute game.
A very cool game. The graphical effects are amazing and the audio fits it well. The only thing missing is a score to keep one engaged after getting all the upgrades.
That's one weird game, but I managed to get to the end. Those cardboard animals and enemies don't seem to influence the game at all.
@snesgaard Thanks for playing. For the piggy to fall faster, the force of gravity would have to be changed, which really is just a number I can change at will in my engine, but than jumping would become a lot harder. I think it feels just floaty enough as it is.
@void4 @elenamisubean Thanks for the feedback. I agree the camera could be smoother and turn a bit less, but it's an essential part of the game as it allows you too look way ahead and makes you feel the game world more real.
@gamedevtraum Thanks for the very thorough review.
Would you believe there are no actual colliders used in the game? It's all grid-based, the character is either in the box with the spikes or it isn't. What I could do is increase the size of the spikes visually so they appear out of their box.
I think the lives system is fine, I just went a little (or a lot) overboard with the difficulty on the last (4th) level. I could either make the game less difficult or make it even harder while doing away with the life system altogether, allowing you to try each section countless times, but who would then see my beautifully modeled hearts and hear me say "Life!"
Faster vertical movement would actually make the game harder, as you would have less time to react and do the horizontal movement necessary to clear the spikes. Let's see, I set the force of gravity at 3.3, so I guess the game is happening on Mars, which allows you to make those really long jumps.
@beebster-games Thanks and sorry about the vertigo. A smoother and less pronounced camera movement is on my list for possible future improvements.
@wouter52 Thanks. Friend says he spend about 3-4 hours on the music. Weird about the level transition, it's almost instantaneous for me, maybe your computer takes longer to load/create the next level.
@martynas-dargis Thanks for the deep feedback. - The gray collectible is a silver pig spiked on a flagpole and says "I'll be back" Terminator style. Sure, it's not immediately clear what it is, but once you collect it and kill yourself it becomes obvious. - Totally agreed, the coins only contribute to your final score, if you care enough about that. Coins could be used to buy extra lives, powerups, hats, anything, but that would be a bit much for a jam game. It's on the list for possible future expansions. - I hate the recent trend in games that make everything linear, exploring different routes is so much more fun to me. The idea was to make a main easier way and a couple of optional harder sidequest for extra coins, which you can freely ignore and thus select your own difficulty. Marking the main way is a good idea though. - I think you mean the jump sound effect "hop". I accidentally recorded that in stereo (with one channel missing) and was sure I fixed it, but apparently it wasn't so. - As I already wrote in another comment, I went a little overboard with the difficulty. I agree returning to the beginning of the level after losing all your lives is one way to fix that. - You simply don't pick a coin that is fully enclosed, it's just for decoration.
@huihang What do you mean UI doesn't fit the scene? There is no UI.
@Apoly Thanks. I don't really understand what you're trying to say about the jumping. Can you elaborate?
@apoly Oh, I get it now, a short delay to make jumping off the edge of a platform easier. That would certainly make those extra long jumps easier.
@f2 Congrats on completing the game and thanks for the the review. Sorry about the motion sickness, I'll have to make the camera movement smoother and less pronounced, either in a future update to this game or in my next game.
That coin is there just for decoration and just accidentally messes with the completionist's mind, but hidden passages certainly are on the list of future engine improvements.
@koolruz Sorry about that motion sickness, I'll have to smooth and reduce the camera motion next time.
@someone Yeah, camera movement needs some more work. There's a little trick in the place you mentioned.. you need to lower yourself to the spike level and then jump over them. You can see it in this part of my gameplay video: https://youtu.be/cIWMMQbRTt4?t=521 Anyway, you were not very far from the ending.
@Fractal That "grey ball" is actually a pig on a flag pole and it sets your respawn point for when you kill yourself next. respawn_point.png
@fireslash Thanks. Game has 4 levels so I'm not sure what happened there.
So beautiful and fun. I just couldn't stop collecting bugs. Bumping into bugs that I didn't want to get rid of them was so much fun. Stopped about level 24 in the end. Some people seem to have trouble understanding they need to collect the exact groups of bugs listed on the right, judging by the other comments, you should communicate that more clearly.
It would be a shame if this game didn't get enough ratings, so please go and rate other games and make useful comments so you get ratings in return. Getting to 20 is really not that hard.
A very cute little monochrome gem full of nostalgia. Plays good too. The only thing that bothered me was that the crystals kill you instantly, while the enemies only take one heart.
Nice idea, having to play a snake on a cube surface. The game is well executed. The cube doesn't look very 3D, maybe a wireframe model would be better.
Awesome game. The setting is great, it looks amazing, the abilities and puzzles are fun, but I couldn't beat the boss.
Quack! Cute game, great watercolor work. I love the various random quacks. I clicked some ducks like crazy, but nothing happened, I guess they were too far away.
Nice atmosphere with music to match. I just murdered all the NPCs and took their stuff without anyone protesting.
I didn't play your game, but then again, you didn't play my either, you just left a very generic comment.
Why must I use my mouse wheel to select the only one card I have in my hand? And why doesn't the game tell you that? I thought the game was broken. Anyway, I was able to finish the game after reading about that in one of the comments. You probably meant to make it so a player could have more than one card, but didn't design the level in that way in the end. So it's ok to require mousewheel to use a card, but the game should tell the player that in the instruction.
The game itself looks good and the cards look amazing. Movement and looking and running around is smooth, but I did fall out of the map once, fortunately I was transported back to the start. The music is makes for a nice atmosphere, but some more sounds like footstep or random noises would make it even better.
Charming little game. Magnetic picking was fun and getting snagged on the trees and obstacles was realistic.
A nice atmospheric game, but it has some problems. Default mouse sensitivity is way too high, I had to set it to 2% to be able to play. The first time I got to the well, I jumped in and exited on a lower level, it didn't trigger the end game. The generated levels make sure the dungeon stays fresh. I really liked the arrow traps, especially the sound they make.
Why is the game so small? I could hardly see anything on my 4K screen until I used my browser's zoom. It's really hard to distinguish the sound of the scanner from the background music, the music level needs to be significantly decreased or allow users to turn it off entirely. Otherwise, nice entry with passable graphics.
Nice game. I must remember to add blinking to my next game. The very dark corridors confused me for a while, I didn't realize I can walk directly into them and wanted to walk through the lights instead
Nice relaxed gameplay, good think there is no stamp police. I like the cartoony graphics.
Nice platformer. I loved the "boing" sound. The only thing I didn't like was how it was sometimes impossible to see where to jump next. A lookahead button could save that.
Great looking game! Unfortunately I don't understand the combat system at all. Monsters increase their values for some reason and I can't beat them.
I didn't know foxes eat flies and bees and catch birds by jumping in the air, neither that their crushes dug flowers. Anyway, cute game and nice clawing mechanic.
Cute game with pretty graphics and a catchy music, but I don't really understand the battle mechanics.
I didn't realize that there was light I had to move to perform blood tests until I read it in the comments. I was able to finish first two levels without that by just moving down everyone.
Anyway, the game looks great, has a nice atmosphere and moving down people felt satisfying, especially the screaming. The difficulty was just about right on the hardest level once I figured out the magic light blood test.
Nice atmospheric game, but it's rather confusing.
A text-based adventure is not what I'd expect these days. I managed heal the fox a couple of times in different ways, to get the ants to be friends again and went in the castle a couple of times, but found nothing interesting there.
I got the same random even a couple of times in a row, you should make it so that doesn't happen.
Musical notes as upgrades is a great idea, and adding those notes to the music too. I had (non-musical) upgrades planned in my platformer too, but didn't get to them - maybe next time. The graphics look nice and the character animations are adorable.
Nice asteroids homage. It's rather short tough and there's no indication of the game ending. Thing just stop spawning after killing the big bad asteroid. The map gets rather useless once you run out of the starting space, it would be great if the map followed the ship around and showed asteroid on the edge when they are out of range. Lasers and explosions look very nice and the sounds fit well.
So.. where's the game?
Best game ever. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Great looking game. The balancing of choices is great game mechanic, but why does clicking truth sometimes lower the people's satisfaction?
The game doesn't reset properly after losing/winning so it's hard to get all the different endings, but with the helo of the F5 button I managed to get them all. Anyway, cute animation and nice gameplay. Catching butterflies while avoiding the monster is quite fun. I don't really like the flickering effect, it's rather hard to watch, but it does give some character to the game.
Good game, starts really easy and gets really hardy by level 4. Pixel graphics are great and the music and the quacking are much fun.
That certainly was confusing. And when it started making sense, it became frustrating. It just takes forever to win. And frustration is the last thing people want in a game. The game looks nice but those odds are just too low.
That's a really nice monster, of course I wanted to see it and shine my light on it to see it better. Anyway, a nice horror game you got there. The cookies were jummy.
That's not a game, that is an experience. The graphics getting ever more creepy and disturbing is fun, but the final effect is a bit too much, it's hard to see anything anymore.
Nice, three games in one in completely different genres. The first two were easy, but the Last one was too hard for me. Trying to avoid those spinning missiles just makes me run into lasers.
Congratz on making your first LD game. It's cute, but I couldn't get far through it. In level 1 I killed the skeleton and picked 4 coins and couldn't do anything else. The switch-activated moving platforms didn't seem to have any useful purpose. Level 2 was exactly the same except there were no moving platforms and the crystal in the middle was broken so I could pass through the middle and then I suddenly won by picking the next coin.
Nice character creation screen  Anyway, nice graphics.
That was crazy hard. Screenshot 2025-10-16 001014.png I wish the level didn't reset after dying, getting back from the key was often harder than getting to it. I found a little bug: sometimes after respawn you die again immediately.
Anyway, a great retro platformer with nice graphics and a nice soundtrack.
