Love the look and feel of this game. Sound would've made it a lot better though. I used a similar block falling mechanic for my game. Definitely an finger twisting experience.

Love the look and feel of this game. Sound would've made it a lot better though. I used a similar block falling mechanic for my game. Definitely an finger twisting experience.
In all honesty, I didn't have a single issue with the movement. It's implemented well despite not being grid based. In fact it is good this way because I have time to stop before I move to the next block. Nice job with the art BTW!
That was actually really fun. No complaints. Got quite hectic as the game progressed. The idea adheres well to the theme.
It's really addictive, but its really easy to survive indefinitely.
I got far but then died for no reason. You can walk infinitely by going diagonal.
Super interesting. Loved the style and sound. I accidentally deleted the game itself XD. Some mechanics were really unintuitive, like shooting the menus and hopping on viruses. But overall good idea!
Funny idea. Felt far from a game though.
The plus button quits game for me. I'll come back and play once you've fixed that.
The concept is pretty fun as a game. I did however feel that playing to the end was fairly unrewarding. Maybe need more variety to the gameplay.
@testlab forgot to mention I really like the art.
Cool concept for a board game
Awesome. Super Polished. Some of the puzzles were pretty challenging, which I think is the hard part when making a puzzle game in such short time. Also loved the variety and the part where the elevator malfunctions.
Also detecting a virus
Great Idea. The mechanics need more tweaking.
Not bad. Feels like and exploration/puzzle game.
I really like the idea. The differing values and sizes of boxes forced me to to think critically about how to store the items. I still think the natural disaster thing doesn't fit in, however I'm having a hard time thinking what other mechanic you could use to add more variety to the game play. Overall a pretty unique and fun idea. Well done!
Awesome game. Super professional and polished. Only issue I had is the control scheme.
Also love the upload score feature. How did you do that?
That ending music though! Nice take on the theme.
It's really hard to remember which arrow key is which color. Also there doesn't seem to be a point of moving around since you can't move after the first few blocks fall. Still a unique idea. I would work with it more.
@gerox Haha no I mean I have to keep looking back and forth to see which color is which arrow.
Hella fun. Yes it was super comedic, but just the game mechanics and controls were alone enjoyable. The fire added variety. Well done. It seems as this game was properly thought out.
Good puzzles. Had me thinking.
I evaded eviction yay! Finally a fresh idea. Needs a little tweaking but was nonetheless very fun. The upgrades were super cool. Would love to see a polished version where you can buy new weapons.
How was I supposed to win without the hint?
Really like the idea, however I think you could've focused on getting the feel right rather than focusing on the post-processing. Also the audio loop wasn't seamless, so that was kind of irritating.
Loved the concept. Had me playing for a while. Looked long and hard but couldn't locate the ranged weapon. Great art style and intro. Tutorial screen was kind of a mess though.
Controls were fun
@wujood Thanks for the feedback. Grid based movement is definitely something I was strongly considering towards the end, but didn't have the time to implement.
@triplefox Loving the feedback. If you get a chance can you explain how the "can't add umbers greater than 8" mechanic was un-intuitive? I agree to an extent, but not sure by what you mean exactly. I feel maybe if there was feedback, people who didn't realize this rule would then get it. Did you mean the same thing or something else?
Again, thanks!
Edit: Actually I maybe get what you are saying, but feel free to explain anyways.
@triplefox Honestly the main reason I picked 8 as the largest was because then the number of sums you can make are limited. It was 10 during the development stages. Also I mentioned in the tutorial that blocks bigger than 8 cannot be added. I feel actual overflow would be an even more nerdier mechanic. I do understand your point however. Maybe I could've added a mechanic where larger numbers take longer to compute or something.
Thanks!
@gerox No worries, the site is a little weird right now. Also, yes I redid lot's of the art but I couldn't redo the floor tiles and character, which I think are in dire need of just that.
@dragongino Yes that is an issue, will try to fix it soon
@devemil Yup, lots of people are saying it's hard but it can become too easy once you know how to deal with the numbers.
@sleeplessdev Really? I thought I patched that. Oh well.
@troligtvis @raccoon-js @hyprgloo @devemil @ryfi @deathray @marcenat
I updated the spawn rate so it gradually gets faster, but not past a certain limit. Hopefully this makes the game more playable. Please do try it out!
Fun idea and good choice of music. There seems to be a game breaking bug however where when I use the sugar rush to get to the ladder the game ends instead of going to the next level. I got the game over screen after the first level.
I've always wanted to operate a forklift.
Really cool concept. Had me frustrated at first but once you figure out the mechanic it makes for a real brain teaser. Really good puzzle idea! Congrats. I feel like a lot of people will not understand, though I think that's their loss and not an issue with the game. Puzzles need to be challenging right?
It's a little random. Good idea though, could be refined.
EZ 5 star
Tutorial was great. Game play felt a little relaxed. I actually didn't use queuing. I think it's because if the abundance of ships, and the fact that you can ignore the ships in the transit zone.
Wow how did you get the terrain like that?
@angela-k Dammnnnnnnn
Loved it! All I can say is that it needs to be tweaked to make the game play more restricted by space than by time.
Nice take on the theme. I don't know if this is a bug but I could leave the tiles and walk on the grey area so the game became a lot less challenging.
Edit: ok I see someone else mentioned this.
Wow this is a good puzzle game!
Hard to believe this is a compo. Audio, art and mood were on point. Grid movement was also great.
Mood game strong
ngl i screamed a little when I got chased by the hammer. Fun game. Ending was kinda dark.
I think there is a bug where you can't start the game. It's just crossed out. Otherwise an amazing entry. Love the Jukebox feature and the music. How much experience do you have with music composition like this?
@ddrkirbyisq Yes I was joking, XDDDD
Really Interesting entry. Cool that you can save pictures.
Really fun game. Loved the art style and mechanics. Music was good too, just wish there were some sound effects. Would've been the icing on the cake.
Thanks for all the feedback. Hopefully you guys can make it to the ending. Might make it easier if people find it too hard.
@kuviman :angry:
RIP Tabitha
Why not use itch.io?
:hearts: Love the art style and music as usual. Only complaint would be that the game felt a bit repeptitive by the 3rd and fourth level. A few added mechanics would be nice. Like different enemies or cats with different uses. An armor piercing cat. Or maybe an explosive cat. But overall loved the interpretation of the theme. Great job.
A part from the awesome effects and audio, I feel like it was too easy. I was able to grab the fish right from the hand and put them back in. Not sure if this is because it was patched to be easier. But otherwise loved it. Best looking entry, especially among 3D games.
Edit: I see your comment mentioning you were running out of time. Understandable
Finished it! Finally got the hang of it after a few attempts. Loved the animations
Very creative idea. I love it. Awesome submission!
This is amazing. Love the angry space baby. So much character. So much sass. The dialogue reminds me a lot of Banjo Kazooie.
Man I only got 1 star on every level I must suck :(
Stunned by your game once again. Awesome job. Perfect for the theme, and super fun to play.
THOSE FARMERS ARE CREEPY
I BEAT IT! That was a fun idea. And great use of procedural generation. Mechanics were polished and I got the hang of it by level 4. Only issue was the dip in frame rate in later levels, but that won't affect my review so don't worry too much.
Awesome effects and post processing. Really loved how the idea ties into instability. Also, is that S.O.A.D I hear in the back?
Screenshot 2021-10-13 181007.png
Jokes aside that was interesting but I don't think the game was ending. Loved the art and sounds. Great idea that needs a little more work.
That was epic! Awesome entry! Great use of the theme. Also love the audio and radio in the background. Really added to the mood!
I wish there was more. You have an interesting idea. The last level really had me thinking.
That was sick. Loved the CRT scan line effect and the general retro aesthetic. I loled at that one room XD
Nice work! Had fun watching your stream!
Screenshot 2022-10-09 234109.png
Ha! Finally made it. That final stretch is intense. Amazing entry. Can't believe this is a compo game.
Screenshot 2022-10-05 000739.png
Just barely won XD. That was super chaotic and I loved it. Bonus points for having a multiplayer entry in the jam.
Also super relieved I was able to skip the intro on subsequent plays (don't worry I loved the intro too!)
Wow I'm actually blown away at how fun and simple this idea is. And the execution is flawless. The smashes were incredibly satisfying, and the game fits the theme well. Congrats.
Loved the art style and music. Very therapeutic game!

:(
Overall pretty engaging and good story telling. The main character in game kinda looked like a squid from top down though.
Super unique idea. Hoping to see more games in this format in the future. Congrats on the awesome submission.
Big thanks to everyone for playing. The feedback has been overwhelming
As for the player movement and attacks, we really wanted to push the player to rely more on their summons, and so this may have been by design. We still probably could have polished it a little more. Apologies if the player movement and attacks feel lackluster.
@linky439 Yea, Dough-doughs are kind of weak. I also tend to use the other summons more. Thanks for the feedback.@
@breakfastgun There isn't actually anyway to dodge other than to run before getting attacked. Thanks for the suggestion.
@okk Sorry about that. I did realize that the player is kinda dead in the water once summons run out.
@aviv-levy Yup, I wish we had more time to add more action and polish. P.S. we are strong advocates of recycling.
@fabula-rasa My go to is also the cookie monster. We currently have the player flash red and make a 'racoon-sound' when taking damage, but there is definitely room for more feedback.
@konbuscus Glad you liked it!
@kaesterin Hopefully unusual in a good way XD. Sorry it felt complicated. We didn't get time to add a tutorial or simpler recipes.
@mrgaberson Thanks for playing! π
@denismarasan I agree that the combat system is pretty barebones. Thanks for the feedback.
@martonel Thanks! :heart:
@tetracold Appreciate all the feedback. Unfortunately we weren't able to add a dodging mechanic. And yes, I agree. Getting honest feedback on a game feels great, and that is something I try to reciprocate. Thanks!
@erivas-soulares I definitely lack experience in this style of games. We primarily kept the z-axis to spread things out a little. I still have a lot to learn for 2d games.
@kitira Yesss, I had thought about adding knockback but that thought got lost somewhere between all the other features and bug fixes. Thanks for pointing out.
@cheesepencil Sorry to hear that. Wish we had more time to balance. Hope you'll try again. I did fix a couple bugs that might make the game 'fairer'.
@brainles-etertainment Thanks for the feedback. I agree that a tutorial would go a long way.
@zomk Thanks for playing till the end. It really means a lot.
@maxgun Thank YOU for playing π
@aivaxela Your Apple Gobblers must have been stronger than mine because I did not get far with that strategy XD
@vivid-hallucination You comment made my day π
@mistiemaedae You aren't alone in feeling like the game gets impossible as soon as your summons all die. This was somewhat intentional, but we may have gotten carried away π
@bochinator Agreed. Would be nice to add more depth to the currently very bare-bones combat system. Thanks for the feedback.
@ryan-lockhart Glad you like our take on the theme. Took us a while to agree on one π
@rawb Thanks for playing and leaving such a heartwarming comment. Means a lot
@matt-fabius We were so focused on the theme and the summons in particular that we kind-of overlooked character movement. Thanks for pointing that out!
@vantalogic You are not being nitpicky. You are being constructive, and I appreciate that. Thanks for playing the game π
Nice idea
This looks amazing and felt very polished. I like the dialogue and the mood. As with a lot of people in the chat, I struggled a little with the recipes. I feel like the rule of thumb is that it is safer to make your games easier than harder for these jams. Nice job!
"Think twice about having a different opinion next time" XD
That was pretty satisfying once I got the hang of it.
My favorite was striped cat. I loved the way he absolutely yeets the cat'erang.
I don't if it is because of my ultrawide screen, but I don't see a keyboard when I open the ouija board.
Nice puzzles. I was able to finish. Nice ending haha!
The audio on the other hand... interesting
I actually bookmarked your initial post on the LDJam page hoping to come back and play a full game. Hope you get to flesh out the idea. It has the potential to be a bizarre but interesting sandbox.
Screenshot 2025-04-09 200735.png
Loved mood and atmosphere. Awesome submission.
Nice job with the models and animation. Voice acting was awesome too, is that you? Probably the craziest mashup I've seen so far.
Nice one! This would be really fun with a joystick to shoot. Loved the visuals and art style. Kinda reminded me of F-Zero with all the effects and stuff. Fun.
@roaderful True. This one is amazing! Nothing more to say really.
Super solid game. Doesn't feel like a ldjam game with all the polishing you've done. Also, are you using procedural generation for the map? If so I love it. Have you listed your resources anywhere? What tools do you use etc.
This was especially fun to play as an Anthropology student XD
Super creative! Theme is spot on!
Well done. Great art style and surprisingly fun to play. I died on the last website :(
Love the music and art style. Old school vibes <3.
I really love how you've made a fun game without separate models etc. using just polygon. That takes great creativity and imagination, and I agree it doesn't reduce the fun at all. Great game, on problem for me is that the controls aren't fluid for a fast paced game like this. I understand it's something that needs getting used to, but that's where I would put effort if I were to add one more thing. Other than that I loved it. Great Game!
Loved it. One of the few games I've played with a little variety in the level progression. The music, sound effects and art style all made for a great experience. Good work.
I learnt the lesson of staying true to myself in the face of adversity. Well done! Throwback to the classic gaming era. The game did feel a little repetitive, but the punching mechanic was fun as hell!
@Amatwiedle not exactly a bug but the current trivia pool is too small. Thanks for noticing. I will fix it in the near future.
@hankworx Yesssss!! It was originally supposed to! But we didn't expect people to know all the answers. If you knew the wrong answers you must have known the right ones.
Any suggestions on how the scares should be triggered are welcome!
@Gonz0 We had last minute issues with that :( Thanks for playing!
@CaptainDreamcast There were a few jump scares but you have to get questions wrong to see them XD
@Kutase Thanks for the feedback. It was hard to adjust the lighting so it would appear right for everyone. I set up the lighting for my computers settings and brightness but didn't realize it would appear differently for others. Sorry about that.
Caught my eye because we also did a Trivia/Survival game. Well done. An animation of the zombie being smacked down after a right answer would be really satisfying. Apart from that the game is top notch. Well done!
I love the cardboard cut-out art style and the story telling/npc interaction. Definitely adds depth to the game. Great idea. I would definitely play this if you worked on it to it's entirety and added a little variety to the tasks. Well done!
Amazing, how did you get the weird parallax effect?
@Gonz0 Fascinating!
Really love the style! "P-R-I-M-E S-E-R-E-N-I-T-Y" in the robotic voice really sets the mood.
Love the idea. Imagine if you had to answer questions in real-time while fighting. That would be intense. Just a thought :)
Loved the way interactions and combat were seamless. Well done! Couldn't tell what normal attacks were good for though. Beat the game using just heavy attacks.
