Really liked the way the board looked. You can do something with this idea if you spend a bit more time with it. Hard game though, only got to kill one group, would be awesome if I could remicro my army to move the weaker guys in the back.

nufflee 2018-08-14 17:19

Thanks for the feedback @g4mr! I thought about army management and moving your soldiers around but didn't get time to do it unfortunately.

karseth 2018-08-15 08:31

I really like the concept of the game ^^

nufflee 2018-08-15 16:11

Thanks @karseth!

chocolat-endive 2018-08-15 17:27

The concept is great and I like the graphism! I did'nt really understand why I can conquer some tiles and I can't for some others.

nufflee 2018-08-15 17:31

Thanks for the feedback @chocolat-endive! The tiles you cannot conquer are already yours ;)

saering 2018-08-15 18:50

The idea is cool ! I like the fact that you can move, conquer, attack and everything, it feels like you're really doing something, not just running around. But it was pretty hard though, and I think it could have been much better with feedbacks like simple sounds or FX, to really know what's going on.

Pretty jam game overall :)

nufflee 2018-08-15 18:52

Thanks @saering! SFX was a must have but everything didn't go as planned. Thanks for playing though!

boopsgames 2018-08-15 19:57

Pretty fun and accessible RTS! Sometimes the hex capturing didn't do anything, though.

noxalus 2018-08-15 20:04

I had the same issue to capture tiles that are not already mine, but the idea is good and was pretty ambitious for a single person! :astonished:

nufflee 2018-08-15 20:17

Thanks for the feedback @boopsgames @noxalus! And that's weird though, never had that happen before so I don't really think it's really worth fixing right now.

swift 2018-08-15 23:18

Couldn't always seem to capture tiles and movement got stilted when my group got larger.

paulie-b 2018-08-15 23:21

Cool game and interesting take on the theme. I like the way the enemies movements seem relatively random and realistic. A few suggestions would be to have the real map colored blue or red, not just the minimap. Also, make the player's troops' heads blue because the enemies has red heads.

nufflee 2018-08-16 13:50

Thanks for the feedback @swift @paulie-b! I tried looking into the code a bit but couldn't really find the issue :/. I will take another look later today.

And @paulie-b I considered that but didn't get to actually doing it and I also wanted to keep the actual world realistic as I planned to make some scenery (like trees, bushes etc.) but didn't get to doing that either.

And yeah I'm sorry for that bug with capturing tiles :/

vekstr 2018-08-16 17:35

I agree with the feedbacks above. And is there no way to replenish the troops?

nufflee 2018-08-16 17:48

@vekstr There's a chance to capture one intruder unit and make them fight for you but there's no health regeneration to keep it somewhat realistic.

michael-wingfield 2018-08-16 19:27

I think it needs a bit more polish. It wasn't obvious when I could actually capture a tile and when I couldn't. In some cases, no matter where my troops were I couldn't capture some of the white tiles. I'm not sure if there was any end or win condition because I sort of lost interest after occupying 3/4 of the map. Maybe some different enemy types or terrain variation could help give it some more variety. Good job though on the hexagonal tiles as well as the mini-map. I know from experience that hex grids can be somewhat difficult to get set up and wrap your head around.

nufflee 2018-08-16 19:30

@michael-wingfield Thanks for the feedback! I really have to look into this issue and will post an update if I find a fix because it basically makes the game unwinnable since the win condition is actually capturing all the tiles. Hex grid was quite hacky but I got it done somehow and it seems like it's actually too big.

tj101010 2018-08-16 19:42

Cool concept! I really liked the controls and the general hex concept. As mentioned above, a bit more focus on UX would've made it a lot easier to get into.

nufflee 2018-08-16 19:45

Thanks for the feedback @tj101010!

nam-nguyen 2018-08-16 20:01

Solid on the theme, would be great if the tile on the actual map also changes color. I think the concept is potential, although you havent been able to elaborate it to the best of its potential. Keep up the good work!

mikixen 2018-08-17 10:32

I love how it feels like a board game in a video game, especially due to the 3D perspective :) The gameover page made me laugh, nice twist there XD Perhaps adding more troopers/units when new enemy units spawn or healing the troop after defeating a wave would make progression more rewarding! That said I really love the concept, smooth controls, and the unique experience the game gives!

roidz 2018-08-17 17:34

i think this is the beginning of a great boardgame/rts crossover. It needs some work but i really dig the idea and i think you have a great prototype to further develop a full game from.

I would most likely stem away from the 3D view and go for topview but thats my personal feeling about it.

i agree with most of the comments above.

i liked this. When further developed this might be a game i would pay for and play a lot.

nufflee 2018-08-17 17:44

Thanks for feedback @nam-nguyen, @mikixen and @roidz! I never actually thought that this would have potential to be an actual game, I'll think about it!

randomphantom 2018-08-17 18:16

Fun idea, could be potentially a multiplayer game. I agree that a top down view would be better. Conquering a tile seems to take variable amount of time though, sometimes the white tiles take too long. The floor tiles could be colored in red, blue and white so that you don't need to show the minimap anymore. Graphics a little basic and could use some juicing up with animations and sound effects to convey a battle. Good job!

nufflee 2018-08-17 18:28

@randomphantom Thanks for the feedback! I agree that the models and graphics in general are quite basic but I didn't really have time to do much more :/ Thanks for playing though!

keyurrana 2018-08-17 18:50

I like the concept. Art is nice too. However, I agree with what others have already said about changing the color of the tile when you capture it.

nufflee 2018-08-17 19:13

Thanks for playing @keyurrana!

superqgs 2018-08-18 01:04

Hey thanks for streaming my game! as for this, The 3d modelling is especially good, and I like the aesthetic

ignacio-zamorano 2018-08-18 01:07

Nice game!

nufflee 2018-08-19 13:50

Thanks for playing @superqgs @ignacio-zamorano!

And @superqgs no problem :)

isubka 2018-08-19 14:02

I really liked this one! I think it's the most different game :) There were some parts I just couldn't conquer. And, as some people already said, changing the color of the tile would give a great feedback. You could also have a different cursor in the minimap, right now it´s hard to see it.

Ayway, you did a great job here. I enjoyed playing :)

zuhairghias 2018-08-19 14:17

Cool concept for a board game

darylsteak 2018-08-19 14:27

Onwards my minions!

The game was quite nice, feeling somewhat like an actual miniature wargame, although some tiles could not be conquered even when not occupied. I was ok with the 3D view and I feel this game could be nicely expanded upon.

Good job with making this game.

red-iron 2018-08-19 14:45

Very very exciting, I could not stop playing. You need to add graphics and get a great game

nufflee 2018-08-19 15:15

Thanks for feedback everyone!

@isubka I'm not really sure what do you mean by "a different cursor".

mechanicallife 2018-08-20 16:19

Played it for quite a while and enjoyed myself. I feel this fits the theme well and the left click to attack felt quite nice and responsive. The only criticism I can give would be a bit of feedback issues like I had a hard time figuring out if a hex my guys stood on was mine, neutral or enemy -territory, some recoloring of the actual floor tile and not only the minimap would have been useful. With that said great entry keep up the good work!

P.s The game kicked my ass several times.

ava-skoog 2018-08-26 10:47

Cool game! Not big on RTS and similarly complex genres myself so seeing simplified versions like this is always nice. Still might've been helpful to be able to split units and defend multiple parts of the board at once, I guess. Probably I'm just bad at it, but I found it a bit difficult, haha. Not sure I ever quite understood the significance of the middle tile as opposed to any other since it wasn't marked differently… Do I lose right away if they get that one tile? Is it better to just stay in the middle than to go after the units and tiles around the edges? Thanks for the game! c:

nufflee 2018-09-01 23:48

Thanks for feedback @mechanicallife and @ava-skoog! I'm sorry that I'm so late!

@mechanicallife Yeah, I really should've done the coloring on the actual world tiles but I wanted to make it a bit realistic with grassy tiles @ava-skoog I'm not big on RTS's either but I just found this idea quite fun and it really was fun to work on it! And yeah, the game is pretty difficult. Better unit control was something I really wanted to add but I just couldn't fit it into the time frame.

Thanks for so many votes every though, none of my games ever surpassed 40 votes haha!
