Way to take the theme to an extreme, Cocoa Moss! This is so hard singleplayer, took me forever to figure out how the heck the cat tree could even stay balanced. Guess it's time to try the good ol' "two controller technique" later and play Two Player Mode with me and my foot. Guess it is useful that I own six PC-compatible controllers.
I definitely hear the Kirby's Dream Land 3 in the music and SFX, and there's no way I'd ever complain about hearing some nostalgic Kirby-style music. 👍
I got all the birds in the first level, and it told me to go right, but nothing happened. Still a nice game.

Tip-toe, tip-toe. It's another Cocoa Moss game! Everything here is amazing. Did you ever have to balance peacock feathers? It feels exactly like this. The kitty butt wiggle before pounce has to be my favorite animation. My husband and I can't stop laughing at the whole thing. Excellent job (as always)!
@someoneman: This was an issue caused by a discrepancy with in-browser behavior not matching debug behavior 1-to-1, but I've tracked it down and it should be fixed in 1.01. Thank you for the bug report.

Such a cute game :) But man, getting three stars in all levels was kinda tough, especially in the second level! The stiff movement of the kitty tree in the second level was really hard for me to control.
Visually amazing, and great sound-effects to accompany the gameplay. Beautiful game as always :)
Loved the first look of the game! Following since then :D The complete game experience is so much fun.

For every ludumdare, your game is at the beginning of my "playlist" (well, except for the compo games that were made the day before yours) - and I never get disappointed!
The second level is much more difficult than the third, IMO.
Also, if you have 3 (for example) stars for level, and then you get less than 3 stars for the same level, then the lower result overwrites the higher one. Not sure if it was intended? Is this highscores or lastscores? chickie_winners2.png
@fumybulb: Good job on all 3 stars! That behavior was not intended but was simply an oversight due to the scoring system being crammed in last-minute. Will fix!

Another great game by Cocoa Moss! I love every part of it!
Unfortunately I didn't have someone around to play with me, but I very much enjoyed the one-player version! I like how the star-system motivates the player to try again, and that you can't "die" in a level. After a few tries I got 2 stars on each level. (I guess it helped that we also made a balancing game.) ButI didn't reach 3 stars yet.
Very cute graphics, and awesome music. :heart: I can see this being a very fun two-player game, I will return to this game when I findsomeone to play with! :smile_cat:

Very nice game. The visual presentation is super adorable. The gameplay is very well implemented and hits the theme on the spot.
@peace-of-cake-games Kirby's Dream Land 3 is my favorite Kirby and I had the exact same thought playing this :)
Really fun with 2 players! There is enough chaos on both sides that can cause misses to be had. I liked that both players had something completely unique for them to do, which I think is necessary for making interesting coop games.
All the little animations and particles just worked so well. The juxtaposition of the top cat getting into a pounce stance and then just hanging their from a parachute is just hilarious and gets you into the world.
As always, not only do you have the polish, but you always slap in novel game experiences while you're at it. Bravo!

Wow best butt wiggling and parachuting of the jam.
Really well thought out game with nice simple mechanics. I did single player and it was very fun.
The animation and colors really fit in with the characters and it all sort of makes sense in the context and you can imagine the story of what's going on.
Great job.
Why are you wasting your time doing jams, guys? This is so good, great job.
Couldn't get even one bird, but seeing the comment section i realize i must be a terrible player.
The graphics and sound are on point and the game mechanics are very clever, even if i can't play it at all.

If there are cats the game is good! xD I really liked art and games, I really enjoyed watching those kittens jumping and climbing. It seems to me a great idea to continue working and developing a bigger game, with more kittens, more scenarios, special abilities for each cat, grabbing several birds at the same time generating combos, etc, etc !! great job!

its adorable, fun game, solid mechanics. I'm a fan of coop games so i could see my self playing a more extended version of this.
I played the single player version. Great graphics and sound! Original concept with convincing physics. Gameplay is a bit frustrating at times. I think it's a pity that the cat cannot catch anything when it's going down.

Absolutely beautiful game! I very much like you implemented audio, the game would feel much emptier without it. The balancing mechanics were nicely done and the difficulty of the level was nicely tuned with nice progression. The art and sound design were amazing, I simply don't have anything bad to say about this entry, well done! :)

This game is really awsome. Graphics are polished, gameplay is unique, the sound is matching super (reminds me a bit of a mario party game) and you also managed to make the levels unique. Really great entry.
Very cool and interesting game, I also love the art style and music, but it's a little bit too hard for me.

Very nice! Love the graphics, and the audio design is very fitting. Overall feels really polished. Unfortunately, due to my crippling loneliness and social isolation I was unable to experience the game as intended. Still, it's fairly fun even in single-player.
Cute - really cute. The game fits with the theme and all mechanics work well as expected. There is a big amount of work on the aesthetic and mood. Colors are gorgeous. The animations are smooth and the sounds/music are pleasant. It’s not too hard to play, and at the same time, it’s very addictive. I had fun playing. One of the best games which I played during the 49th LudumDare session. A solid entry - you should export it to a mobile device. Well done ++

The graphics, tone and animations are just amazing. Really nice job. It fits well with the theme and you learn how to play in a good way.
I'm not a big fan of the gameplay, it's a bit slow and not very challenging other than challenging my patience. However combined with everything it looks amazing. I think it would be better if you did it more arcade like, how many birds can u get within a set time, and then make it easier and faster.
But it's way better than what I could do :) Really amazing job.
Dang, that winter level is hard! I think the single-player mode works better than you describe. Some of the best SFX around, and obviously the art is super cute as well. Great job!

Played this with wife, we had lots of fun and giggles especially when we begun the last level 😄
Game felt very nice and polished. Graphics were good and music and sounds completed the cartoony style. Balancing mechanics took only a moment to learn, but were harder to master. It was very fun in coop with controllers, haven't seen such an idea before so points for innovativity too.
Although the game was short, trying to get all stars give replayability. I can see this game could be taken in many directions with that kind of mechanics, as one of the series of minigames, or a bigger cooperative adventure where you must tackle puzzle and/or action challenges going through levels with your friend 😊

Very nice graphics and animations! Pretty fun innovative gameplay. Pleasant music and sound effects. Feels like these are bonus levels from some more varied game and that I want to play such a game with same characters and atmosphere. Played single-player mode.

Great job! Amazing entry :heart: I found it tricky to learn the transition from lifting up the pole to balancing it. But after a while the controls became natural.
Played with my kiddo and we played the 2 player version. Awesome music as always The art is great and adorable, we really liked that. The Physics control and capturing the unstable theme was great. We played the post-Jam version, there is an error in the instructions. It says one player is AD + Enter and the other player is Arrows + Space, but it's actually AD + Space and Arrows + Enter (which is way better of course for side-by-side play at the keyboard).
wonderful job you two! this was an absolute charm to play, especially with a friend.
great job with the controller integration, made playing coop a lot of fun.
one feedback item is that i found it hard to reliably move the scratching post left and right using the tipping physics. sometimes i could get it tipping in the direction i wanted, then run that way, but others i couldnt.
i ended up resorting to repeatedly activating the "lifting" sequence, then trying to run to the left as it lifted, since it wasn't effected by physics during that state.
since moving left and right is crucial to the game, i think it would be nice to improve the ability to transport the post left and right reliably.
Here's the winner for the hot-seat! Best played two-gether, makes it more fun and humour. Very decent game based on simple but thoroughly produced mechanics. And no violence. Thanks, guys!

Super cute! Loved the adorable art and animations! I'm always impressed by how many songs you can get done on top of programming. Gameplay really went well with the theme. I liked the simple control schemes and feeling of weight you were able to pull off.

The idea is fun and it fits the theme perfectly. The graphics are cute and clear which is very nice, too. And, actually, I really love the fact that it's a game for two. Tryed it in hot-seat and it was fun, a bit hard to move the pillar from tree to tree though

Great game nice graphics, animations and cut scenes! Loved the overall game feel - the music fits perfect.
Great game, surely among the top of the jam! The concept is simple and really fun, got my wife to play with me. It quickly turned out one of us was much better at handling the cat tree, so roles were clear very fast. Cooperation was great, and both players are equally involved, that's great. The animations are so adorable, and you have one for everything. I just love the overall polish. One of the few entries that really feels complete, like you finished the game 5 hours before the submission deadline, because you did everything there was to tweak and balance already. The music is fantastic, really reminds me of Kirby's Adventure from the NES, the same great, joyful feel (oh, just read the note on that afterwards). Bringing 3 levels in with their own visuals and soundtrack is very impressive too! I wasn't sure what the difference of the second level was, i assumed the cat tree was slightly imbalanced. Your game is of course complete and great - if i could wish for something, i'd like to see the base mechanic changed more by later levels. Like, longer poles or uneven terrain. In any case, great entry, i think we have a winner here in at least one category ;)

I played the single player mode, and this game was a lot of fun! It reminds me a lot of the melon stack "minigame" from Yoshi's Story, but with a unique spin. The art is very charming, and the audio is great.

At first I didn't realize I had to hold to jump further, but that sound indicator was good feedback and cued me in on it (the animation there is very cute too). Game is really hard single player but I can imagine it would be pretty fun 2 player. I liked how the poles behaved different in the levels and you had to figure how to best use it/deal with it. Great job!
Very cute entry, loved the mood and the music! I played it in multiplayer, it was very fun to coordinate moves ("Go Right!" "No, YOU go left!", this kind of fun interactions xD) We were not good enough to get all 3 stars, seems very challenging! Thank you for this entry!

The presentation is incredible as usual! The cats are adorable and I need to try it again with a second player (who's very much a cat fan).
Fit in the theme unstable pretty well! we had fun playing this game. the movement of the platform is very interesting, it's not normal move left/right, so you can't use normal sense to play this game, but it is reasonable in physics. and it needs the two player to cooperate, a lot. love it.

Very good in all aspects. The graphics were cute, the audio was as good as I've come to expect. ^_^ I did find this one a bit frustrating to play though. Maybe with two players we could have adjusted the balance a bit faster, but alone I had a hard time moving the board around. Awesome game, and good work!

Looks nice, sounds nice, plays well… And has a 2p mode to boot!! Was surprised to see bells added in level two only not to make a noise and wake the birds to increase the challenge—was that originally the plan but something you didn't have time for or that didn't work out? 👀 Amazing entry!!

@ava-skoog: That's a pretty interesting idea (although seems like it would be very difficult!). The bells were actually just added as a thematic object that carries weight; the idea was to add mass that swings around and makes balancing more difficult.

Absolutely lovely as always! Great graphics, audio, gameplay the works! Sadly had to play single player but I will easily be returning when I find a friend :3. Audio is fantastic, love the use of the (what I assume) is a Kirby soundfont, very much Superstar/Dreamland 3 vibes which pairs perfectly with the really solid gameplay. Excellent all around, best I've played yet!
