LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Spaceship by Xavier Sellier 2018-12-03T20:45:10Z

Call me soft-hearted but I really like what you have here. Sure the mechanics could be a bit deeper, like said before - actually having to bring the resources back.

BUT I see a lot of potential and I had a blast playing the game, it was just as long as I was comfortable with and I think this idea may be worth pursuing further.

The only thing that I feel is really missing are some sounds, they are one of the most important parts of your game, even if you use some free sounds and opt-out of the audio category.

Other than that, keep up the good work and hopefully I'll see you in the next Ludum Dare :)

Save the Kittens! by Drunk Wizard 2018-12-01T15:33:57Z

Hi all! We are excited to participate in this year's ludum dare. It's our first time and we hope to accomplish great things :)

Save the Kittens! by Drunk Wizard 2018-12-06T18:41:10Z

Thank you all for your AMAZING feedback! :D You don't know how happy it makes us that someone has fun with something we made. I have checked out your projects and you are all very talented people and I cannot wait with what you will come up next :)

LD44 — Your life is currency

Grim Adventures by ursagames 2019-05-03T16:01:23Z

Really cool game, I felt that for the amount of content it was really polished. I only felt that the checkpoints were a little bit too far away at times. But the music, the graphics were awesome and I had a lot of fun. Well done :)

Artvertising: The Battle of the Dollar Stores! by Mocadium 2019-05-02T15:52:23Z

Very nice entry, the music had me jamming from the beginning. Simple, controls, great artstyle and as I said, the MUSIC! Now I can move on with my day having a better mood :) Only thing was that I didn't see any indication that the train was coming, maybe add some sound effect or flashing lights? I am looking forward to with what you'll come up with next LD :)

LD Force by Jason Lothamer 2019-04-30T16:39:44Z

A nice game, the graphics and sound effects are minimalistic, but the overall feeling is great. It's a shame about the bugs with money and hits not registering. But keep at it, next time you will work faster and you will have more time for ironing out the kinks like this. It's the time pressure and the fact that you actually do the LD that makes you better over time :)

Fluffensnuff by Rongo Matane 2019-04-30T17:43:25Z

Great entry, I am not a fan of puzzle games (too much head scratching I guess :D) but this one had such a pleasant atmosphere that it captured me. Great puzzles a relaxing gameplay. :)

The Trafficker by Enver Arco 2019-05-03T16:12:53Z

I really enjoyed this one, it's simple, but there are some little things that make this game much better. The fact that the sound when picking up people doesn't stack and you don't have a cacophony of sound, and the dabbing... the man behind the princesses is a genius. Only flaw was that beeping noise when picking up policemen, I felt that that sound was a liitle bit too loud and sharp. Good job, may the trafficking never end :)

Greendy by Dumivid 2019-04-30T17:03:21Z

Nice, relaxing game (at least for a little while in the beginning :D) pleasing graphics and music. Great fun and interesting concept, what's more to add? :)

Space Robots: Fight for Freedom by Fenderbate 2019-05-02T17:09:15Z

Really superb game, I would love to one day make something like this also. I am a complete sucker for pixel art so 5* for graphics from me ^^ nice background ambient music. A really coherent piece of game. Well done

Minus by DrSkort 2019-05-06T17:04:57Z

Awesome game, the soundtrack was just so perfectly dark and heavy, I loved it! The controls were a little bit too sensitive for my taste, but I didn't encounter any problems. Great Job :)

The Grim Tower by Drunk Wizard 2019-04-30T20:41:58Z

Thank you all for your amazing feedback :) this was our first time working on a project you could call "strategic". We've done a clicker game, 2D platformer puzzle and are working on a 3D survival. So when we decided on a strategy game, we weren't really sure where to take it, but after a few hours, we got really excited with what was starting to take shape. We wish we could have implemented some more features, maybe a little bit of unit control and make more strategies viable. But in the end we decided to sacrifice those features in favor of polish (probably could have spend a bit more time on the tutorial too :D).

@a333 That's an interesting strategy, I guess as a developer, you never really see all the options you are giving the players :D Some obstacles would be nice, but our pathfinding worked on the principle: find nearest, go in a straight line :D. I can only imagine how epic it would be if we could implement something cool as actually sieging a city wall.

@nayaki-anandan Thank you, we got our music from Ultimage Game Music Collection and sound effects from Universal Sound FX on the Unity asset store, sadly we are no sound engineers and having this sort of game without sound would be really weird :D Regarding the spells, they actually cost you blood, so if you spend too much life on units, you cannot cast spells in battle. We didn't give the tutorial the time it needed :/ but, another lesson learned and we will try to be better next time :)

@arielsan Yeah, we couldn't really include previeving the battle before-hand because of time constraints :/ but this happens in these events :D We wanted to give the necromancer some basic means of defending himself, just flinging a fireball here and there, but didn't really get around to it, we actually forgot about him for most of the developement :D

@cpx3 Yeah we know, especially if you went with the cheap mob swarms tactic it got really tiresome. What I found fun in the later levels was the ability to place several flesh golems, backed by Energy throwers and while the golems were tanking, the throwers would devastate several lines of enemy troops in one glorious attack :D Thank you for your feedback and we are glad you enjoyed our game :)

The Grim Tower by Drunk Wizard 2019-05-02T15:39:01Z

@a333 I like getting the firebal ASAP, it's your only defensive option just in case you somehow lost all your troops, then just farm up some blood in the early battles and just trample everything with flesh golems and energy throwers. The game is quite simple, so not that much strategy is needed :D I just enjoy the spectacle of flinging spells left and right and groups of my energy throwers killing whole ranks with one synced attack :)

Nebula Rush by Erukolindo 2019-05-06T17:17:57Z

The upgrade mechanic is so annoying... I LOVE IT! A nice way to do upgrades :) Great soundtrack, and the graphics are very well styled. I hope I'll see you in the next LD :)

TREASURE ROOM by jutjuan 2019-05-02T17:51:22Z

What a relaxing game :) the music was chill and the graphics were really pretty and well put together. I would maybe appreciate some kind of upgrade mechanic, where you could also trade some of the coins for upgrades so that you have a choice, progress or upgrade? Good job with this one :)

U Wouldn't Shoot a Ship by NotSoEpicGames 2019-04-30T17:30:06Z

I clicked on this game because the cover image looked kinda janky and the name was catchy... Boy am I glad I checked this one out. Super catchy music, beefy sound effects and great gameplay. The graphics are simple, but put the ships, enemies and explosions together and it feels very coherent, nothing in the game feels out of place. Great job with this entry, I had the most fun with this entry so far :)

Devil's Dirty Work by Sinitax 2019-04-30T16:56:36Z

Really interesting title, the art and music are awesome. The controls could use a bit more work, unless the goal was to force the players to grapple their keyboards as a practice to get better, in that case, you succeeded :) With a little bit of post LD work, I can see this entry as a competition game for people, to see who goes fastest and who goes farther :D

Heart Sacrifice by Predrag 2019-04-30T17:15:16Z

I absolutely love your art style, and the light effect from the middle of the circle is great. I can personally see only one downside, and that is the lack of audio. I think the experience would have been on another level by having some background music, shooting sounds and some "umpf" sounds for hitting enemies. Would love to play longer version of this game with more enemies and attacks :) keep it up!

Crystal Castle by Kylazaur 2019-05-02T18:16:54Z

Really superb game, the graphics, animations, sounds and the polish, just awesome. Only trouble I had was with the dying enemies still damaging you when you walk into them, but other than that I didn't encouter any problems :)

LD46 — Keep it alive

P4R3NTing 101 by AndideBob 2020-05-01T15:48:59Z

Absolutely great, everything fits together really nicely and the difficulty curve rises steadily throughout the game, got me sweating by the end :D really nice job :)

Terraform Mars by TK07 2020-04-20T19:07:55Z

zip file problems are fixed now, the game should be playable without any edits, thanks for the heads up :)

Ice Light by ThornDuck 2020-04-21T19:04:14Z

Absolutely amazing. The graphics, lighting and audio, everything spot on to underline the overall mood of the game, nothing wrong with this title, well done :)

Dungeon Farmer by TheQiwiBoy 2020-04-21T19:32:58Z

Cool little game :) nice work with this one, I think it's an intereseting idea. A few thoughts I had when playing, it would be nice to have a score counter, it's a little thing, but it is nice to see your skill/progression and adding a chance for 2-3 of the enemies to spawn simultaneously would help with the issue of just staying in the middle and rotating your sword :) but I get this is your first LD and you did it solo. Big thumbs up from me :)

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Lo Fishing by luizdev 2021-04-29T17:07:13Z

First what hit me was the beautifully done menu, nice work on that one ;)

As some other, I too had trouble reading the intro font, but no biggie. Nice implementation of the music, it made playing the game really chill.

Sea Game by MattWoelk 2021-05-02T14:03:49Z

Now this is some good stuff right here. I ab-so-lu-tely LOVE the graphics style of this game, in fact it is something that I would like to play around with myself. Only I sometimes had trouble gaugeing the depth od my submarine with the coins.

The music and sound effects were really fitting and the game was just put together really nicely.

I think I agree, that the tank controls would be better with this one, but that is a subjective preference :)

Very good job with this one I really liked this and if this ever comes out as something more than a LD entry, I would certainly love to play it :)

Ascending Dungeon by BenPeterson 2021-04-27T19:55:57Z

Thank you for the inclusion of sound effects, they make the game a lot better :) The artstyle is heart-warming for me and I feel, like together with the sound effects, it forms one really cohesive feeling. (btw, bonus points for fecal knight ;))

I think this is a solid idea, innovative gameplay with the different weapon moves. It is kind of jarring at first, but I got the hang of it in a bit.

Sadly I don't have anything more to add as I don't think there was anything I disliked. I really enjoyed playing this, so 5/5 overall from me, great work! :)

Shrink and Destroy by Tomssuli 2021-05-02T13:53:47Z

Really nice entry, I very much enjoyed the inclusion of background music and sound effects. My only gripe with tose is that the death ray didn't really sound that powerful :D But the simple sounds made me enjoy the game much more and I actually had fun with this and finished it :)

I liked the different types of enemies in the first level and only wish, there were at least 3 different enemies in every one of the levels, I can only assume, you didn't have time to implement them :) what pleasantly surprised me, was that the enemies in every level felt unique in their attack patterns which made up for the lack of variety :)

Death Cult by TentacleMax 2021-04-27T19:46:03Z

Really liked the music, altought I read it is something older it is still catchy, wish I could someday compose something like that :)

The character art is absolutely amazing and the animations are also really good.

I think the game bugged when I bought my first wizard, as it gave me 2 wizards instead of 1.

The gunners shooting split projectiles agains so many enemies is a good idea in theory, but in the end, for me they mostly missed the enemies but when they did hit, they did solid damage. I feel like they should shoot a single projectile with a higher rate of fire, so It wouldn't be so frustrating watching them miss with 4 out of 6 bullets :D

For the wizard AoE, I felt like it did damage when the fire animation ended, instead of during the animation or at the start of it, I might be wrong about that tho.

I found this idea for a game catchy and I had my fun with it. Overall I felt it was a solid game, I think that working further on this project may not be a bad idea :)

OVUM by mind0o 2021-04-27T18:47:47Z

First of all, I really loved the menu screen, I thought it was really unique. The intro was so corny... I LOVED IT! Then the gameplay starts and I am like: ok, seems nice enough, and then BAM! green guy appears, then the goddess of love, I get trapped by yellow guy on the right and then proceed to die. I don't know what I was doing and how to actually play. Absolutely briliant.

For me, really good humour and sound, the grahics were really nice too. Shame the tutorial didn't work (at least for me). But I will be looking forward to your next creation ;)

Afterlife by Nekopi 2021-04-27T18:58:06Z

First some minor negatives (sorry :/). Nice little game, the only thing missing for me was some kind of narrative in-game as to why you are there, as I usually play the game first, then read the description when I get stuck or am finished and I felt there was room for it in the litle intro cutscene.

Some little text pop-ups when you pick up stuff would be really helpful as I don't see anywhere, what do the crosses and the bags do (I assume, they alter your score)

On the positive side I felt the movement was smooth and liked the idea of damaging while sort of hovering with several "weapons" that you can pick up. You go deeper and deeper and there are several enemy types.

Down to the Core by his-games 2021-04-29T17:02:06Z

Really well done, appropriate music and sound effects, the aesthetic is simple and clean, but still animated, which put together is really cool.

The gameplay is really smooth and I think you nailed the frantic feeling of these kinds of shooters.

The only thing I found a bit annoying was that the in game music was louder, than the music between levels, but I don't know whether that was by the html version, in any case this is really minor at this point :) really good work!

Space Grappler by Duvey 2021-04-27T19:05:04Z

Cool project, I appreciate, there was at least the music as a lot of games are completely silent and even this little tune adds a lot of enjoyment for me :)

I liked the mechanic of attaching to asteroids, I found it hard at first but you get the hang of it pretty fast. But sometimes my grappler would just pass through asteroid that were further away, it seems that the grappler line is longer than the actual reach.

Deep Hunter by Amaroq 2021-04-27T19:24:26Z

I really loved the art style, this sort of "analogue"? look is something I very much like and want to try myself someday :)

Now for the gameplay - It is a shame, there was the unused I think periscope window? I think I get the idea behind it with the civilian and kraken ship designs below it. I can only guess you ran out of time before implementing it. I've also found the events were very repetitive, someone may dislike it, but I think that randomizing the outcomes could be beneficial in this case. I found it hard to lose as the outcomes were pre-determined based on your choice, so after getting to know them, I just powered through based on what I needed.

I appreciate you added a background track as I dislike silent games and felt it was appropriate for the game mood.

One really not so nice bug for me was regarding the navigation blips, they were misaligned for me so I didn't know which two were neighboring. Two of the nodes (one of them was the final Kraken island node) were hidden in the white of the "navigation" text and I spotted them merely by chance.

Really liked the game overall, the mood of it, clear objective that was explained in-game and the graphics. It was on the easier side in terms of difficulty, but I liked the storied events and when I finally bombed Kraken island, I felt truly guilty :D good job! :)

Unsigned Hero by Caterpillar Games 2021-05-02T13:37:58Z

The art style really speaks to me, I like this sort of retro-looks :) I felt like the movement and attacking were smooth and responsive, only the zombies can get inside of your character and the slash effect was larger than the actual hit check.

I actually really like this and the only thing keeping me back from truly enjoying this is the lack of any sounds, even just some basic 8bit sound effects for attacking, getting hit, drinking the healing potion and making it to the next level would really lift this game up :)

LD49 — Unstable

Captain Peggles by Sheepolution 2021-10-05T20:11:53Z

Absolutely love it! The music is nice, the sound effects too, even the dialog has some grunts, and the graphics, oh my GOD! Nice and unique take on the theme and the gameplay. I just like everything about this. My only gripe is that I had some longer periods of nothing to do, but I get that not everything can be perfect in a 3 day LD Jam :)

Chickie Catchers by DDRKirbyISQ 2021-10-09T07:50:56Z

Absolutely beautiful game! I very much like you implemented audio, the game would feel much emptier without it. The balancing mechanics were nicely done and the difficulty of the level was nicely tuned with nice progression. The art and sound design were amazing, I simply don't have anything bad to say about this entry, well done! :)

Train Tilt by mrjoshuamclean 2021-10-05T19:12:32Z

Cool game, nice take on the theme and given the few hours it took, it is a solid entry :) The music is absolute banger, I constantly felt like I am running away from a chasing train, only for my doom to slowly creep closer and closer. However I had some issues with the controls, the grabbing felt inconsistent and if I pushed a box to the right side, it quite often floated up and over the railing, falling off :/

Unstable magic by Mads 2021-10-09T08:46:22Z

As I see in some of the comments above, the map is big and - apart from visuals - mechanicaly empty, to correct this, there could be some powerups or health pickups in different corners OR you could shrink the map considerably and make it more of a gauntlet to get to the mausoleum. With smaller map, you would have more time to look at some other features :) In my opinion, the inclusion of a leaderboard was unnecessarry as I see these more for a quicker paced games, in this game which had a dark atmosphere, it could actually hurt it by making players feel constantly pushed forward as they are timed, instead of them carefully crawling forward, waiting what's behind the next corner (I would at least hide the timer in-game and give the player a time afterward) I wasn't sure what I was doing wrong, but I think the mausoleum was the giant door, but I didn't know how to open it also everytime I went near that area, I started taking damage from invisible sources. Now, the positive - The game has quite a good atmosphere (some of the post-processing screen effects were a bit much though), the background sound and the pale color palette went together nicely (one thing that would help immerse me more would be the inclusion of footstep sounds). The combat felt very good (speaking of the graveyard area as I couldn't make it further): screen shake - check, sound effects - check, hit effects - check, just all around pleasing to use, if you wanted to make it a bit more fluid, I would allow the player to move at a slower pace while channeling the fireball.

Everything here is just my opinion, I don't want to discourage you as I know from experience from working on several LDs that under the time pressure a lot of stuff gets lost, you forget something, don't notice some little things and that goes with the game jam :)

Finally - good work on creating something like this, graphics, audio and effect work was really good. If you polish it a bit further (or create something the next LD), I would love to give it another go :)

Unstable Abel by Player 2 2021-10-05T18:22:59Z

Nice little game, the graphics were nice and the wonky physics was cool to look at :D also Abel's annoyed noises when bumping were a nice touch. Only thing was I didn't know about the invisible boundaries, the game is in sort-of isometric view, but wants you to go forward, I was confused several times trying to run to the sides only to seemingly get bugged and stuck. I would suggest adding some semi-transparent wall so that it is clear, that you are hitting the level border :) Good game, had a little laugh which is quite rare

Unstable Delivery by MrBlue 2021-10-05T16:48:51Z

Fun little game :) the driving was cool, I was trying to get Unity wheels to work a few days ago and just could'nt stand them (don't know if you used them, but I think you used a simpler method which in my opinion resulted in better feeling at least for me :) ) only the camera was a bit off when turning.

The main thing that dragged the game down for me was the complete lack of audio, as I see with quite a lot of games and yes, it can be time-consuming, I think that adding any sort of audio, even the tiniest amount, can elevate the feel of the game dramaticaly.

I hope you will participate again in the next LD and implement some audio feedback, because I think this game was really cute :)

Beer Quest by jepjoh2 2021-10-05T17:23:03Z

Really liked this actually, sort of my type of adventure game, simple and short :D I unfortunately wasn't able to figure out, how to - I think - brew the beer? :D It would be cool to see this finished, you got the gathering, now some light-weight crafting options, and a side quest or two :) The guards don't actually react to you talking about beer, nor when the king calls upon them, which is a shame, as the unsuspected instant death situation would be quite funny :D It is possible I missed something, something from the things I wrote about here, if that is the case, I am sorry :)

Sire Sleipnir by Klosterliv 2021-10-09T08:56:04Z

MASTERPIECE! Love it all around, got a lot of Lord of the Rings vibe from the intro dialogue (been a while since I watched it) :D Truly, add some more levels, introduce two - three new mechanics and you have a frantic stompland of an action game. Brilliant...c4c38e8c66c9e89d17be94503e2f500a.jpg

Vampiric Bullet Hell by Drunk Wizard 2021-10-05T17:02:40Z

P.S. Here we go again, LD 49! This time was really something :D we thought about the theme and had several ideas, but it seems, we then got overtaken by the idea of making a fast-paced 3D FPS game as we've never made one of those before :D This comment is also for me to remember, next time, try focusing on the theme more and try to think up something more original, at least, make the gameplay more experimental :)

Our excitement unfortunately led us the path of just make the game we wanted, and putting the theme second. Our initial idea was that the player's health would drain over time and the player having to fight to heal (which we did) we also implemented a feature, where if you have too much health, you get buffed but your health drains faster, thus it was in our minds - instability.

Later on we also thought it would be nice, to have the ruins/dungeon you're in, especially the arena, fall apart or change every couple of waves, this didn't really make it into the game, and ended with falling rocks that spawn enemies, and one overall change to the arena.

We were really strained for time and truly pushed it to the limit, ending with us submitting the game literally a minute before deadline. I will confess - only the next day we found two minor issues, which were fixed post LD (I replaced the footstep sound with another one, because the original had crackling in it, also the cure that was supposed to appear wasn't visible thus leaving an empty altar) and I hope, you can forgive me for that :)

The audio is also all over the place as I never really used 3D audio in Unity to any capacity, so sorry about that :X

For any who read this, your feedback is welcome and we really hope, you had at least a short enjoyment out of our project :)

Vampiric Bullet Hell by Drunk Wizard 2021-10-05T17:58:05Z

Thank you all for your comments :)

@elmismopancho you're right, in all the hustle and bustle I didn't even realize that, something for next time :)

@stupidhobbit yup, the corridors were a bit small, they weren't really the main focus and the "tutorial" part came in last, as we wanted to focus more on the main arena

@threaded-lama-digital we discussed wether we would do the in-game tutorials breaking the fourth wall and I decided not to, and was wrongly relying on the players to read the controls on the LD page, the controls should be shown in the game, but as stated above, the tutorial part came in the last couple of hours under time duress, and I made the more immersive choice, I absolutely would want to work-in a better teaching process :) and yes, the reload is too long, another thing that I realized only once you wrote it, thank you :)

Vampiric Bullet Hell by Drunk Wizard 2021-10-08T10:57:56Z

@achef122 thank you :) we've commited quite a large time to gameplay, as we've decided that the feeling and polish of the game is more important than more features, hence the length, if you have some experience with FPS games, it is nothing new and can finish it in under three minutes :D There are a couple od problems with movement which are usually not immediately noticable :)

@player-2 thanks for your feedback :) I wanted the players to not have to squint at tiny text, but didn't double-check it and the text ended up more unreadable :D the theme was supposed to be in the health - which constantly decreases and when reaching 100% gives you a boost with the downside of draining much more health. Due to time constraints, we couldn't implement something along the lines of unstable arena, that would fall apart as the battle progressed, that said, we just wanted to try something we didn't do before this time and put the theme second. We basically used this LD to challenge our technical knowledge more than our creativity :)

Vampiric Bullet Hell by Drunk Wizard 2021-10-12T15:11:33Z

@artman thank you :) ah yes, if only we had the time, I wanted to do some floating enemies to make the action more vertical, and it would be awesome, if I had the time to implement some type of big monster boss with a giant hammer :)

@astramorae glad you enjoyed it! We wanted to have at least an automatic gun and a shotgun, but because we don't really have ammo types or mechanics, and it was our first FPS, we decided to stick with the pistol. And yes, we wanted to make the shooting a bit more interesting, with at least reloading costing health as the animation is made for it :) The UI was sort of stitched together in a hurry :D (quit is with alt+F4 :X)

@ivysly thanks :) yes I knew it was going to be a problem for players, but we didn't think of another way to differentiate, or at least, REALLY SHOW the player, that the red homing ones heal you :/

Vampiric Bullet Hell by Drunk Wizard 2021-10-21T16:41:27Z

@klosterliv yes, it was our first attempt at an FPS game :) the mouse sensitivity had some weird issues when taking into account FPS, so I threw it out of the code, this unfortunately led to people with high FPS to basicaly be unable to decrease the speed enough :X and you are right with the FoV, I absolutely didnt realize this, I am surprised that noone mentioned it sooner, thank you, something we will try to keep in mind for next time ;)

@sleepystudios why thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it :)

Geiger Cubes by Samuel Hollywood-Summers 2021-10-05T17:09:53Z

This is a cool prototype and for me, felt like a proof of concept for a relaxed, exploratory adventure game, that focused on ambiance and sound design :) I would love to see a little puzzle game with this rubberball-shooting gun with some platforming, exploring a nice little floating island to chill vibes in the background :)

Space Cracks! by Fractal 2021-10-05T18:10:45Z

Really cool game, only small thing was that towards the end of the game, the cracks stopped forming, leading to me just running around, grinding, but that is nothing major as for the majority of the gameplay, it was hectic :D nice inclusion of the in-game tutorial in the form of dialog - only thing missing was actually telling players which button is interact so they wouldn't need to mash the keyboard blindly :) Good job!

Oh man, absolute masterpiece! The game just oozes fast-paced janky charm all the way through. Love the scaling of difficulty, I even love that I was able to levitate, basically I had no idea what was going on, but the premise was explained and so simple, I didn't mind :) It's a shame about the sound as that would elevate this game to a whole other level (I didn't hear any sounds, even though I read a comment here about running sound, so maybe a problem at my end)

@rextgun ah yes, it was the web build, in all the frantic gameplay I overlooked I can download the game :X thank you for your reply, and yes, it is definitely much better with sound :D I tried working with audio in Unity, didn't watch any tutorials but still, my audio feels like it's off, your enemy sounds however stack very well together, they don't create that cacophonic super sound I am used to from my work :D my high rating still stands :)

Unstable government by DmitryGalias 2021-10-11T16:51:39Z

very cool game, nice take on the theme! My only gripe was that it took a long time before anything happened, for first 5 minutes, I got about 5 newspapers, but the restriction was the same, leading to me just sitting there, idly twiddling my thumbs. But after that, once the restrictions started changing and new buildings unlocked, it really started taking off! I was constantly shifting my buildings around, trying to be faster than the dirty, dirty cops, coming 30secs after a new decree. After the rough start I really enjoyed the game (the music loop could be a bit longer or varied as it got old pretty quick :D)

Really nice, the graphics went together nicely, the controls were intuitive, only picking up the crystal was a hit or miss and the slow jazzy music in the background on one side didn't fit to the situation? But for me, it fitted the tone of the game :D The game is really cool, but with unskippable cutscenes and replaying the whole level from beginning - sorely needs checkpoints. But a big thumbs up from me ;)

MISHIT by Holy_Doggo01 2021-10-11T17:09:50Z

I actually feel that the shooting mechanic should be the other way around, when you misclick, the red bar should move, that way, it would encourage you to keep your rhythm in firing. This way I couldn't really shoot anything unless I spammed LMB, since I had to aim and then look at the scroling bar. This way I actually felt punished for being good at the shooting mechanic - I couldn't keep my rhythm, because every succesfull shot changed it. The movement could also be made less floaty, but that isn't as big a deal. with the levels as arenas I felt it was a bit of a shame to have all the enemies just slowly rush the player, some of them could have been static or seek cover, or could have some sort of arc attacks, shooting over obstacles. This large block of text might seem to be made only to tear you down, that is not my intention, as was stated, this is an interesting idea and the arenas seem to have at least some thought put into them - there is something here, and it would be cool, to see what you come up with, with more time and experience. Just don't be discouraged and try working on this a bit further, experimenting with different ideas on implementing this system and utilising the arenas :)

Pest Control by Wyvex 2021-10-05T17:46:58Z

A solid entry, the movement was quite good, even if a bit too fast and slidy for me, but still felt good :) I personally would suggest adding a progressive recoil? By that I mean, the first shot would always hit where you aim and any subsequent shots in quick succession would be more imprecise :) Another thing missing was the lack of general feedback - hitting enemies, hitting batteries, water and cores, when the player is hit and maybe some red flashing lights, that would alert the player to the instability level, as without audio it is really easy to loose track of it. On that note, the lack of audio was what pulled the game down for me, but I understand the reason, it is time consuming, and the result is not guaranteed (hell, look at our entry where I put an effort into audio, and it is still a mess), still, some basic noises would be welcome :)

That said, I will repeat, the movement is solid and fun, the level was interesting, with multiple paths to take, the movement animations on the character felt natural and were responsive. Implementation of the theme was also nicely done, with higher risk, bringing higher rewards :) (this is something we wanted to include in our entry as well, but due to time constraint, was left kind of on the side) Great work for solo developer ;)

Steel Zenith by thetatautau 2023-10-05T09:57:12Z

Very cool entry, the art style and audio truly got me in the zen zone :)

the control were a bit weird, I had a bit of trouble finding the place where I need to set my mouse and sometimes the object I needed to place jumped really high and I needed to shake my camera a bit for it to come down

but these are minor gripes in otherwise great little zen game, Only thing it needs now is a photo mode, where you can take a picture of your creation and some different environments and I think you got a little hit on your hands :)

Free Shipping by peacememories 2023-10-03T17:20:31Z

I Love this! I agree with Alexander_Mor, I need more ships :) This is not a negative, I understand the time constraints and I think for LD game it is sufficient I really love this original idea and even the controls are pretty good, I had reasonable difficulty putting the ship together :) Only my last piece got stuck inside the ships collision, so I couldn't complete my big ship :( -> 0/10

Obviously joking, looking forward to what you do next :)

Rusty Barrel by KenForest 2023-10-03T17:46:17Z

oh man! this is an awesome little game, I can't even count the times I started or wanted to start a project similar to this one, and you nailed it for LD :)

the ambience is very nice, the game starts out nice and easy, but pardon my language here... GOD FU******NG DAMNIT! The part with the whales made me so uncomfortable, I don't think I've ever experienced this particular feeling of deep "nope"

Sure amnesia is tense and scary, but this one part of your game evoked feelings I didn't know I could feel from a game.

Only thing was that after that point I sort of missed some more uneasing stuff, I personally would have liked to have a one or two more parts of the feeling that something is just wrong :)

very good job with this one, I also loved your graphics, which elevated the experience :)
