LD42 — Running out of space

Not Enough Space in Space by clue 2018-08-18T09:56:27Z

Probably the toughest tutorial I've ever tried :P

Interesting mechanics with the inventory, although something like progress bars might be easier to glance at compared to the tiny numbers for damage.

ROBO Brick Factory by SnorkySnark 2018-08-18T09:44:19Z

Failed to run on Ubuntu 16.04. Just spinning on a couple of cores and ignoring keyboard input. Logfile shows the following interesting messages

Error loading /home/.../Desktop/ROBO Brick Factory_Data/Plugins/x86/ScreenSelector.so: libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory ... Failed setting thread niceness (priority) to 0 due to EACCES (errno 13) violation. Lowering niceness (raising priority) requires CAP_SYS_NICE or superuser. (Filename: Line: 131)

Sins of Gluttony by Bodisatva 2018-08-18T10:23:33Z

The tongue level was very difficult, mostly because it wasn't clear how the click mechanic worked. Not sure if that's intentional, but just adding a few words would make that a lot clearer.

Other than that entertaining :)

Healing Overflow by demoura 2018-08-18T10:09:29Z

Way too real.. :(

One problem I had a lot of the time is that people run away under the border of the game forcing me to use the area heal, even though they might have full health. A list with health bars in the corner of a window could be useful get_back_here.png

LD49 — Unstable

Birdbird's Life Balancing Agency by Togimaro 2021-10-05T15:37:48Z

Very good game. Having to hold shift as suggested before, or having a button that would definitely drop whatever I'm holding would make it a lot easier I think :)

Banana Republic: Nuclear Power Plantain by LandoSystems 2021-10-05T11:31:24Z

Your references are out of control!

Awesome game

Shaky hex stax by stoffe 2021-10-05T15:24:53Z

Good, almost relaxing, entertainment :)

Also great use of physics! It seems to line up with the playingfield nicely without being useless

Unstable Tables : Tales Of A Super Hero Waiter by paulhocker 2021-10-13T00:11:38Z

Super addictive, lol. Got so far on my second playthrough after finding out that you weren't kidding about the chilis :P Although after one level it just crashed with the audio weirding out

But super nice. And while not exactly clear what to do from the start it's very easy to pick up from the first playthrough.

The soundtrack is excellent!

Chessapeak City by Sorrer 2021-10-04T23:27:33Z

Interesting game-mechanic. And what's seemingly simple turns out to be pretty complex

2 ideas for immediate improvement. I think point 1 should be easily allowed during the voting round:

1. Without consulting google I couldn't tell which piece was which (rook, knight, bishop) in the description. It would be nice if this was clearer 2. I sometimes can't move buildings when there's a storm and I can't tell why. I can just sit helplessly and watch my buildings be destroyed by an indeed very unstable world.. :frowning2:

The Escape by Marin0104 2021-10-05T12:01:00Z

Extremely difficult getting into the safe thingy. The brake seems to be of no use? :P Otherwise pretty cool

Should I Buy It ? by henriquecanella 2021-10-05T13:57:47Z

Pretty cool

It would have been really nice if it kept the selection of what I wanted to trade. Otherwise it is just a ton of clicking - and especially misclicking :stuck_out_tongue:

UnReactor by ancooper 2021-10-05T13:08:21Z

Very unstable! Feels like some combinations are worse than others for turning the reactor unstable but couldn't quite tell?

It feels like sometimes the S key will double click also

Beer Quest by jepjoh2 2021-10-05T21:34:45Z

@april-lehman @shores @drunk-wizard Hehe thanks for the comments. Yeah it really isn't made clear enough what really is possible or how. Some external people playtesting would have shown this but sadly everything just fell together just hours before the deadline.. You know the story  I'm happy you got the gist of some of it, and did explore some

@teshimoto Of course he's stronger than a completely sober civilian! ;)

@pixelydian Hehe yeah there were some options that we almost got implemented (beer transactions, etc, but would take longer to remove than to finish). Definitely lots that could be added

And spot on with the scaling. It was a bit disappointing how badly it ended up looking as we were going for that retro pixelated/boardgame look. We will definitely prepare that better next time :)

@furfel Thanks. And yeah Pas2JS is absolutely excellent. Can't say enough positive things about it or how well it integrates in Lazarus. Definitely try it out ;)

Rescue Mr. Penguin by voodinator 2021-10-05T11:10:08Z

Level 18 was a whole lot harder than the following ones :P

Nice game. Although it would be nice with some faint grid indicators

Shpooky Pooky by Tyler Law 2021-10-05T15:51:09Z

Really cool game concept!

Some levels didn't have shadows that I think would have helped a lot. But very entertaining :)

Meltdown by LouieJams 2021-10-05T14:35:14Z

Nice

Discovered that you can apparently run the elevator out the top and not get it back down :stuck_out_tongue:

Warp Glider by Koolruz 2021-10-05T00:11:53Z

Thought a few times I would stop but then just made it to the next level. Very frustrating yet addicting :)

Deathrail by Hotowlgirls 2021-10-06T13:44:44Z

Nice game, but very difficult :P

Love the graphics effects and the catchy music

Vulcanization by arturogcdev 2021-10-05T12:43:15Z

Very cool. I think it would be a nice addition if you added that text about why you lost, then there wouldn't be a need for a readme :)

There was something about timing, like building a house once the lava is moving to that tile doesn't seem to count?

Monstergarten by xsangyhix 2021-10-04T23:55:47Z

Bunch of monsters! Seemed like they got angry just tipping over the mountain of toys they got :P

Also, seems like clicking the button when there's fire under it grabs the monster baby?

Unstable World by EugeneKul 2021-10-04T23:06:52Z

Pretty cool, and great execution!

A highscore list would be a cherry on top, instead of freezing when you die :stuck_out_tongue:

Where's My Tripod? by Pixelydian 2021-10-05T14:45:30Z

Really funny. The persistent hickups were my favorite :)

Paper Route by OllieOA 2021-10-05T13:37:37Z

Very hard, but fun game

Sadly I get a consistent crash directly after the fade out after level 2 :(

Crash Bomb by Lyna Kuzuryu 2021-10-05T13:16:59Z

Couldn't figure the Key: 1 part out. Otherwise fun puzzles :P

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Gobbey wants to eat by bradur 2022-04-08T20:20:31Z

I think there's a lot of potential. Like different catching equipment or other kinds of expansions that could have been built into it. With the current scheme I didn't feel like there was any kind of increasing difficulty, but very on point with the hopelessness of waiting for nothign on an island :P

Nice music. Really fit the mood. And the graphics were nice

PRO TAX SLACKER by pcmaster 2022-04-08T20:29:25Z

Pros: Worked great on Chrome. Relaxing music. Great UI, and graphics

Cons: Gave me cold sweats as it reminded me I have been putting off my IRL tax correction forms for weeks

PRO TAX SLACKER by pcmaster 2022-04-08T20:45:54Z

@pcmaster 5 points for the service. Thanks mate

3rd Emu australian war simulator by sebbernery 2022-04-04T21:55:27Z

57 seconds! Longer than the AUS army! \o/

Same lawn mower strat as p0l4r, but with an authentic simultaneous retreat :)

Piggy Pileup by candlesan 2022-04-04T21:08:54Z

Really nice. Just feels like rounds were very different in distribution of letters :P

Got the "verify" but it feels like length didn't matter a lot for the total points?

Isn't it a bit hotter than normal outside? by axelrinaldo 2022-04-20T23:05:17Z

Strangely enough beating the balancing - or lack there-off - was pretty entertaining :P

Reached an equilibrium of sun expansion and cooling (after like 8 replays or so). But at that point I couldn't build anything to replace coolers for some reason. But waiting it off makes evacuation inevitable if I just let it sit for a while :)

Game About Trying to Gain More Time In A Time Cave by HacksawUnit 2022-04-05T10:15:15Z

Time Gem

LifeWasterâ„¢ by sirJupitron 2022-04-04T19:35:59Z

I feel like my life was wasted so hard, even though I only made it to 46. Good job.

How does killing your soul work though?

Brace Yourself by PaperMartin 2022-04-04T19:47:34Z

Yeah agreed, nice style, Gives a pretty cool retro voxel feel to it.

Finally got to 178, it feels like there's so little extra to gain. Does the "point nose up power" regain somehow?

Merge Getaway by glitchman 2022-04-04T11:33:34Z

Very fun mechanic :) And great music

Fox Driver by rolferm 2022-04-16T12:58:48Z

Very cool. Only experienced a performance slowdown once in the start of the level otherwise it ran smoothly.

Got to 6912 and 13 $$

Stay Positive by Nick Barrash 2022-04-04T11:01:24Z

Great game. The controls are very difficult even though it feels like you are in control. Great soundscape too!

Untitled Arcade Game by LeonardoMarques 2022-04-04T11:09:50Z

Same as above, but very entertaining. And great music and sound!

It seems that sometimes the input handling seems to not work? Especially on the retry button

Probee by Harmadillo 2022-04-04T20:20:06Z

Nice. Took a bit to figure out that vertical movement is a lot less energy intensive than lateral. Once I found that out it was easy to navigate in the cloud layer and get to about 100, but getting beyond that seems really hard.

Is there a way to catch fuel without relying on chance? Or is that just part of the mission ending being inevitable?

The moss accident by Draconic Rabbit 2022-04-04T20:45:18Z

Made it to 101 seconds with the strategy of holding back lines of expansion until moving into a corner. But it seems it truly is inevitable that the moss takes over.

Maybe if the flamethrower cleared everything in its path instead of just the far edge of the flame? Or would that be too easy then? :)

Nice either way

Coolant! by iambaangkok 2022-04-06T17:23:20Z

Very hard with the instant death, but cool vibe. And great SFX :)

Gemship Wars by darzu 2022-04-04T20:29:36Z

Seem to make it to 44 before I inevitably become overcome by the swarm of enemies.

It seems that even with just a tiny corner of my boat I can still man the guns. Even running at 75 FPS I don't fall through the boat :P

Stop the Train by oldcezar 2022-04-04T22:05:25Z

Okay I was fooled, as the fool I am.. :clown:

LD53 — Delivery

Bad News Bear by CameronPenner 2023-05-02T06:04:49Z

Nice game. Took a few rounds to get the green marker mechanic but it worked out!

The Nearsighted Mailman by ick 2023-05-05T01:48:53Z

Very realistic!

E.T. Eats by Reef 2023-05-02T04:36:45Z

Pretty cool with a Pico-8 game!

Only feedback from here is that it would have been nice with WASD controls as well, as arrow keys on my laptop are tiny and sit next to page up/down keys that move the entire page.

Air Shipping by Hare Software 2023-05-02T04:59:31Z

Really pleasant game. The voices, audio and music is especially nice.

Bomb Express by MoebiusMeow 2023-05-04T02:18:40Z

Really fun. Quite addicting gameplay. Sometime when desperation set in it's nice to just spam a ton of bombs to see if that somehow made the situation better :)

GONETS. Supply delivery TD by DaniilLenin 2023-05-02T05:28:04Z

Link broken?

LD54 — Limited Space

Astrolabing the Arctic by sebbernery 2023-10-04T17:45:13Z

I think we can all get behind the discovered secret.

Although it didn't seem challenging to find I never got bored. The soundscape has a ton of "discovery" character. And who doesn't love exploration and logistics games. Very good and kept me powering through to get to the bottom of it.

That hint about number of science things was great too

Healthbound: Survive by LucaDev 2023-10-04T17:26:50Z

Works just fine in Linux with Wine, but accidentally moving the cursor off screen too quickly crashes the game. Super intense

LD57 — Depths

HIM(1).Locked by fosf0 2025-04-10T21:56:08Z

Really great story telling, and the battery/clock mechanic is fantastic for creating a sense of urgency late in the story. Music and the effects on it were excellent too

The only thing I didn't like was the consistency of the double click detection but it never became too annoying

Dark Ness by Soul Grinder 2025-04-10T19:33:05Z

Spooky! Spotted it 1 times only. Fun take on fishing simulator vibes :)

Submerged Pulse by Pandalk 2025-04-11T16:46:06Z

Really cool concept. The music stuttered quite a bit when playing in non-fullscreen mode, but luckily it was fixed in fullscreen

I was scared for just a short few seconds that the sub had to go back the same way it came.. Great ending :P

Drill la Drill by FrogtownMatt 2025-04-12T22:32:12Z

Wroom wroom! Perfect touch with the guns being stowed before it drills into the ground. That would have been immersion breaking otherwise :)

Down climber (Pico-8) by Prunus Padis 2025-04-10T21:26:32Z

VOID

Cool. And PICO 8, nice

LD58 — Collector

Save the ocean by Linky439 2025-10-07T14:27:14Z

Is there a way to make it fullscreen? The arrow keys move the webpage up and down when trying to play it in Chrome

Hidden Secrets by Curtis Miller 2025-10-07T12:20:18Z

Very nice and cozy concept. Could easily do with a few more levels :)

Likewise, having support for touchpad panning and mouse cursor capture would make it a lot smoother to play. For some reason it didn't work with touchpad on Chrome but worked fine with an external mouse
