LD39 — Running out of Power

VUEL by Jezzamon 2017-08-05T07:16:49Z

Holy shit, incredible game! Too bad the Compo version has a glitch in which you can't reuse a robot you already purchased, but holy cow! The graphics are impressive, the audio is great, the concept is really really good.

Congrats, that's a fantastic game you made here.

Fukushima Robot by SoKette 2017-07-31T18:10:56Z

Nice!

The graphics are nice, the robot is easy to control, it's a fun maze/platforming game. I managed to find Timmy, even if I wouldn't be surprised if he wakes up with a 3rd arm given how much I exposed him to the radiations! ^^

If I had to niptick, I'd say it lacks a bit of music. And I didn't truly understand the superspeed, the turbojump and the teleport mechanics, but it doesn't matter. Well done! :)

Tiny Wiring by Domantas 2017-08-14T11:02:22Z

Wow, really really great! I truly had a great time playing this. Congrats! The mechanics works well, even if it is a bit hard to understand how it truly works. The graphics are fine, it lacks just a bit of music to make it even better. The AI is great, the pathfinding is great, and the levels are really well designed. Fantastic game. Congrats!

Unpowerer by Garywiss 2017-08-04T17:40:52Z

Really fun-Metroid like! It just lacks better controls (as the hero slides a lot) and music/sound effects. That boss ain't easy either!

Well done anyway! A really fun game.

Click The Power by hungare 2017-08-14T13:09:49Z

The idea is simple, and ok, but it is a pity the game ends after 40 levels, as everyone else pointed out. The art is ok, so is the music. I just feel there should be a bit more to this game (something like moving cards would be a good start I guess ^^).

Still a cool concept, so you might want to expand it into a small endless HTML game :) With some highscores, that could be fun!

Icarus Fate by saintheiser 2017-08-05T07:11:33Z

Looks amazing!

However, the collision detection could be better and I feel like at some point, you just couldn't dodge those damn rocks! ^^ Otherwise, your game is fine, but some audio would have make it better I think. Congrats on the art though, looks really nice.

B:/ Connected by AidanMarkham 2017-08-14T22:58:16Z

Fantastic! Great "mood" you set here, the robot part is fun (if a little slow ^^). Overall, really really great. The audio is top notch, the graphics are good, the writing is great, it's just a really great game.

Congrats!

Blackout by wviper3 2017-08-12T10:51:12Z

Nice one. I like the way the car controls, even if the brakes are a bit strange. I would have love to really feel the difference between the road and the grass though :(

Anyway, fun little game. Good job :)

Last Sunset by piscythe 2017-08-04T18:09:54Z

Really nice! I really liked the art style, simple but effective, the music is good (well, I think the boss music is too loud and quickly gets boring, but it exists and the other music is good!), the controls are fine... Even if I feel using the 1/2/3 isn't really practical (maybe you could have switch color with the mouse right button or something?), as well as using the Power Nova (R + ctrl ? Why not just R ? ^^)

Otherwise, it's really good. Well done! :)

Mine Mouser by Knatt 2017-08-14T22:00:23Z

Nice game! The concept is simple and easy to understand, and I love the level editor! The graphics are OK, but it works well with the game. The built-in levels are really fun and challenging, you let the player progressively understand the mechanics of the game... Really well done.

Congrats! And I second @erkberg : this would make a great mobile game.

Take Me Home by Fengol 2017-08-12T10:41:13Z

Too bad there's a lack of content in this game :/ It seems like the Power doesn't go down at all... The main idea is good though. You might want to get a fun little game out of this prototype ;)

Fast Refuel by harusame 2017-07-31T17:44:22Z

A great idea for a nice game, even if the AI tends to kill itself a bit too much to my liking ^^ (or am I just bad at this game?)

The changing mechanics works well, the music and the graphics are nice. Definitively worth a try! :)

Tesla Siblings by Linky439 2017-08-05T07:54:28Z

@simonhutchinson I'd have to see if I can port it to my GMStudio 1.4 Pro that has the Mac export. I'm not sure it has the HTLM one though, but I'll try to see that :)

To everyone: thanks for the feedback! Greatly appreciate it, I'll do my best to keep what works and correct what doesn't for the next LD :D

House of the Rising Sun by shide 2017-08-05T08:00:04Z

It is a bit complicated to get what you need to do, even if the hints you wrote here help. I like the idea of the game, and it looks really good. The audio is cool too, I just think it is a bit too complicated (especially when you start for the first time), the game would probablt have benefited from a tutorial or easy levels to start with.

But you still made a great job. Congrats!

Sarlacc Dungeon by luthwyhn 2017-08-04T18:02:53Z

Nice one! The game works, it's funny, it looks OK (in fact, the overall art is coherent so it's quite good). Too bad there's no sound and you didn't have time to add some special effects here and there. I seem to end up in more or less the same things but I guess you didn't have much time to add some more elements to encounter.

But otherwise, you did a great job! Congrats :)

Doctor Duck by ViKingGames 2017-08-12T10:35:51Z

Good idea you had here! I like the graphical style, the overall polish (even if using the mouse in the menu is strange ^^). It lacks a bit of sound, sadly :( Otherwise, you did a good job with that one, congrats :)

Wizard Out of Power by thiagofr 2017-07-31T17:41:42Z

Let's be honest, I don't think this fits the theme well. It is a standard boss fight that wouldn't look out of place in any game...

I also find the control scheme a bit hard to get used to, since the player slides a lot. The audio is pretty bad (one line of dialog and then just "uh!" "uh!") too. The graphics are way too simple.

I'm sure that with a bit more time, you would have been able to do a better game than this...

Hopeless Space by KonH 2017-08-02T17:35:08Z

A bit hard to aim without any crosshair. And yeah, the lack of audio is disturbing :( Otherwise, it's ok, pretty fun even if it gets repetitive. Good job anyway for making a fun 3d game! :) (Plus I got the highest score, hehe)

Robots from 1991 by dminsky 2017-08-02T17:29:24Z

Same here: doesn't fit the theme, but otherwise, really fun and great looking game. Love the controls as well, feels a bit like some old-school FPS.

Guardian Stone by Mr.MadCat 2017-08-05T06:53:22Z

Really nice game! The (great) intro has a strong Zelda vibe to it, the music is good, the story is good, the characters are fun... Really terrific work!

OK, the graphics could have been a bit better, but it doesn't matter to much since this is a LD ^^ Congrats!

Quoala by Goloso Games 2017-08-01T17:35:14Z

Nice take on the theme!

I just wished we could fast forward the dialogs as it tends to be a bit slow, but otherwise it is a great narrative game. Well down! :)

Car race without gas by morusque 2017-08-14T11:15:11Z

Haha, well done, well done! ^^ I like the slow movement of the camera, really nice mood and everything. I can't believe you've been able to make such a game in less than 48h!

Battery Booster by Garett Cooper 2017-08-15T09:33:35Z

Damn, I wanted to try this one out but when I tried to launch the Windows version on a Windows 8 OS, I get an error message "Failed to load mono" and the game doesn't launch :(

A Growing City by Lipsch 2017-08-05T07:07:14Z

Great entry! :) I'd just say the game tends to slow down when there's too many buildings, but other than that and the audio, everything is really nice! ^^ Good idea, I like the way the city expands. Congrats!

Running out of robots by Offz 2017-08-15T09:48:24Z

The idea is quite good but the game overall is a bit confusing. First of all, I think everything should be done with the left mouse button instead of switching between left and right. Then, the robots often start a task, but stop in the middle of it meaning you get no power at all. I didn't truly see the difference between entertainment tasks and the other ones, but that might be just me.

Overall, the core idea is good and the game is fine, but it is a bit confusing and tends to be a bit boring after a while. Also, there's no way to quit the game when running in fullscreen x( Good job for the game, but I'm sure there are some things to improve to make it really good :)

Running from the throne by drakryttare 2017-07-31T17:55:21Z

Well, that is certainly a new type of game!

The lack of audio bothers me a bit, as well as it seems that no matter what I do, I either disappear in the vast outer space or get captured to marry the King instead.

I have to admit, if you gave it a bit more time now that the LD is over, I'd be glad to come back to it. In the meantime, I think the portraits are fine if a little expressionless, and I like the genre of "choose your own adventure". I just wish we had a bit more info on the background and everything, because I can feel there's a universe behind the game, but I can't really see it.

Desert Rush by Taras 2017-08-14T23:06:11Z

This is an interesting take on the theme, but I feel like the game could have been better :( The controls are really clunky (why does my character suddenly go way faster, so much it is hard to precisely go where I want to ?). Overall, it isn't bad, but I don't think the graphics go well together. The mood is set pretty correctly though.

Anyway, you still managed to make a game during the LD, so good job anyway :)

Delivery Drain by Thorneto 2017-08-02T17:16:10Z

Not bad, not bad! The idea is quite original, congrats.

I'd just say the BGM tends to be quickly repetitive, and that even after you won, you could still empty your phone's battery and get a "you lose" screen ^^

Otherwise, it's not bad. Not super fun for me, but still a good idea.

V.E.S.T.A.L.E. by kromeboy 2017-08-14T21:02:25Z

Nice concept! I have to say the battery levels are hard to read unless you're fullscreen, but otherwise it was fun. What kind of superpowered brain do you need to beat the game in hard mode though x)

The game is really nice, it just lacks a bit of audio. Other than that, it is simple, just the way it needs to be. Good job! :)

Battery Bunny by Sprouts 2017-08-04T17:52:56Z

Nice one! It is a bit tricky at first to focus on both the recharging stuff and the movement, but it's really well done. It is a bit hard to correctly see if you're about to crash those small yellow battery or not though ^^

Overall, really nice, and really fun. I just wished there'd be a highscore table at the end of the run :( Congrats on the great work ;)

In The Dark by Zipp 2017-08-04T17:48:54Z

Wow, really good! The audio is fine for me, the gameplay is really well done (a la Super Meat Boy in a way) and I also really like the idea of dropping "power" when you die. The only "bad" thing is that you die when you touch the sides of the spikes, which doesn't look like it could harm you at first.

As Gurvan said, you should continue the game post-jam (with more levels and abilities?) and you should also write a better presentation so that people want to try this great game :)

Binary Computing by Draloric 2017-08-01T17:47:46Z

I had to download the whole directory to make it launch and not just the .exe.

That being said, it is a quite original idea! It took me back a few years ago when I knew how to properly count in binary. Original idea, but I think the graphics are pretty bad and aren't easy to read x( But otherwise, it's ok, even if I think you have to be in the thing to appreciate the game. Good job! :)

Sol Probe Power by GettingRekt 2017-07-31T17:26:41Z

Well that is certainly an interestring game you made here! The controls are a bit hard to master, but it's overall well done. Congrats, especially if it's your first game!

Now I think your game could have used a bit more info on where to go, or how to properly control the ship, as well as a better audio. I know it's space, but I think the game sounds too empty. Otherwise, the game is quite fun and quite pretty, and the idea is really good.

ULTIMATE PROSELYTISM & MIRACLES SIMULATOR 2017: THE MOVIE THE GAME by Reuh 2017-08-03T17:38:39Z

Not bad, not bad! A bit weird, but not bad. I think it is just too long to start, and then you're just clicking over and over again the same spots.

And to be honest, I don't truly see the link to the theme. But otherwise, well done!

Lifeforce Deathrun by GanbareGamesKyle 2017-08-13T11:11:44Z

Simple but effective game! ^^

I like the art style, and the game is addictive. It looks pretty simple, but it ain't that easy to go far! My best score is 54. The audio is nice too. Congrats on the good work :)

Ack & Dac by BoliBerrys 2017-08-03T17:51:20Z

I really don't understand what I'm supposed to do... I can move Ack around but I am stuck at the very beginning and can't really play...

Borks Electro-Dungeon by Aphid98 2017-08-01T17:54:03Z

I think your game lacks a bit of content. First of all, I already died twice because no enemy got in sight before my energy was gone. Then, the graphics aren't really good. The core mechanic works, even if I think allowing us to aim with the mouse would have been better.

So yeah, maybe try to rework it cause the core mechanic is fine, but it needs polishing ;)

Dash Guy by Defratino 2017-08-05T07:22:09Z

That's a fun game you have here! It is a bit hard to get used to it in the first place, but then it works really well. I would just have made a "tutorial" or a least an easier mode to get used to it, but it is really good nonetheless.

Great job, the graphics are nice, the audio is nice (what the hell is that sound when you kill aliens though ^^), and the game works well. Congrats!

Draculittle by and gamelab 2017-08-02T17:22:49Z

Sorry, I just don't see how it fits the theme... :/ Nothing wrong with the game in itself, even if the fact you have to restart all over again and again is kinda frustrating to be honest.

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Infested by Megalink 2017-12-08T13:00:08Z

Nice game! I think you could easily expand it into a sweet indie title with more enemy and place variety. Overall, the game controls nicely, the graphics blend well together, you did a really great job.

I'd say the weapons upgrades aren't that much of an upgrade, but other than that, I don't have much to say. Congrats!

Haunted House on 43rd Street by Franklins Ghost 2017-12-16T19:38:59Z

What a weird game! But that was... Great? Loved the art, loved the audio, it was weird and it was great this way. I would say it lacked a bit of different pathways, but overall, a strong entry and I'm sure you had a lot of fun making this game.

Congrats to both of you!

Disease In Sewers by Yvanor 2017-12-13T10:41:39Z

Nice and very polished game! I like the graphics and the principle of the game. I do agree that it is a bit hard to understand the diseases you caught and how to cure them, and I think having to press the E key to use the ladders felt a bit odd. But otherwise, it is a great and fun game! I love that little survival sheet by the way! ;)

Congrats!

LD 40 - Aliena Raptum by masterkrepta 2017-12-23T11:28:27Z

I enjoyed the idea, but I think the game would have needed way more polish (it seems you didn't work the full 48h on this, so I wonder how many hours you put in this game?) The graphics aren't really good, it is pretty hard to avoid the helicopters bullets without any mean to shoot them down. Overall, I like the idea and I think the game could work very well with a bit more time into it. Congrats for making the game in due time though!

Shiny Dream by Peredom 2017-12-23T11:22:17Z

A really fun game! My only complain would be that you keep your upgrades after dying, meaning you don't start every run with the same configuration. But that's really a minor complain ^^ Otherwise, fantastic entry. Loved the graphics (even if a real background would have been nice :p), the handling is great, loved the idea... Congrats on such a great entry!

The Burdened Raid by evgiz 2017-12-07T12:10:23Z

Wow! Impressive game for a LD! ^^

I really liked the graphics, as well as the idea. The music was fine if a bit repetitive, but overall, very strong and funny entry. Congrats! :)

Indoor Haul by iseeicy 2017-12-16T19:58:14Z

Nice idea! It was fun if a bit confusing at times as I was often not facing my cart when pressing E to let it go and enter a shop, but overall, nice idea, nice graphics, nice audio, nice everything! Good job, and I agree with someone here that said a couple of shops with expensive stuff would be a neat addition and a nice reward for exploring.

Congrats!

Burn Bunny (in space) by ZeAntwan 2017-12-09T10:22:55Z

Great job!

I really loved the art-style (that screen title and menu, omg!) and the audio is top-notch. I think it is impossible to fill the mamazon ship with bunnies though (very funny audio for that ship by the way ^^), and it is hard to get to the engine in time. I ended up busted even if the cops seemed to be light years behind me on the indicator, so...? I also didn't truly get how more bunnies made things worse (apart from destroying their "cage"?)

Overall, great job for making this game. It looks and sounds terrific, so congrats!

Honey Money by harusame 2017-12-06T15:03:49Z

Simple and super effective idea! The graphics are nice, the music is awesome, the game is really addictive. It is hard to restrain yourself from stealing one more house and then getting caught by guards...

Really really great game, and the leaderboard adds a nice touch. Congrats!

Greed is a $in by Linky439 2017-12-07T12:48:44Z

@grentacular Thanks! For Greed Mode, you mean something like making the bags bigger? I also thought about making the character moving towards bags without loosing all your control (let's say it would go like 1 pixel towards the bag but you could still drag him in the direction of your choice), but I ended up with the current gameplay.

@kashif Thanks! I'll check your game soon!

Greed is a $in by Linky439 2017-12-10T22:17:32Z

@fdr Thanks!

I didn't use any particular engine, I programmed the game with Game Maker 7.0, but other than that, I made it from scratch ;)

Dr.Acula, Busted! by Jimsen 2017-12-06T16:47:39Z

I like the main idea :) However, it is pretty easy to be almost immortal by avoiding shots during the first dozens of seconds and then sucking up the blood of enemies gathered at the center of the screen. I managed to maximize all my stats this way and ended up letting myself die at 1733 points almost without shooting the whole time.

That being said, the graphics are nice, and I like the theme. Congrats! :)

Bee Rush by FDR 2017-12-09T10:29:12Z

Interesting idea!

It is pretty easy to reach the end with the Queen only, but when there's more than one bee, it's pure CHAOS! It is pretty funny. It is a bit hard to control though, due to the camera that tries to follow the leading bee. But I like the idea, too bad there's no sound!

Overall, a nice little game. Congrats!

Shooter Guy by sirikan 2017-12-09T10:13:43Z

Great job in making the deadline!

Like others, I didn't really get how it relates to the theme, unfortunately. There are other problems other people already pointed out (AI that you didn't have time to fix, the levels are too big and too empty, and it's hard to aim correctly as the bullet is super small and you actually shoot at the right of the crosshair). I did like the art-style though. (I also ended up spotting a flying plate in the first level ^^) Overall, good job for the effort, it isn't easy to make a 3D game in such a short span of time. I'm pretty sure that with some post-jam work, you could make a fun little game out of this project! Keep up the good work! :)

Lights, Camera, Action! by gamesplusjames 2017-12-07T11:54:47Z

Haha, funny game you made here! ^^

Loved the one-liners, it feels a bit like Duke Nukem shooting a movie for kids. I almost didn't use any weapon and finished with a G rating and 25 millions bucks. Overall, the gameplay is fine. I just think it didn't fit the theme too much, but other than that, congrats!

Justify the Means by Goat Toaster Games 2017-12-07T11:41:16Z

Nice graphics! The music is also nice, but I am particularly impressed with those graphics. The controls are fine, and the story is fine as well.

Overall, it's a nice little game! I guess you could easily expand upon it with a bigger storyline and a bigger world after the jam ^^ Congrats!

Justify the Means by Goat Toaster Games 2017-12-07T11:56:43Z

@goat-toaster-games The gameplay is fine if a bit simple, but for a LD jam, it's OK. You could easily expand it with more power as you collect plants (a third jump, a big energy wave, etc.)

I'd love to play a bigger game with the same art-style and in the same universe though. Keep up the good work! :)

Squirrel Puncher 4000! by valkling-friend-of-all-things 2017-12-13T10:51:30Z

Great music, the concept is interesting! A bit strange with those colored circle, but overall a fun game. I guess the graphics could have been better, but it is a nice game anyway. I would have loved to see more enemies than the normal, cyber and square one, but it's a 48h game so I can't ask for too much.

Congrats!

Cavern Breakout by jandourek 2017-12-16T19:23:16Z

Nice game! The twist on the simple idea works rather well, even if it is pretty hard to avoid ghost even when they're not moving. I guess I'd rather have a faster character, that could jump farther than this. Otherwise, great idea, the graphics are fine (the audio could have been a bit better though ^^), and I like it. Congrats!

Overdose by Kashif 2017-12-07T17:27:09Z

Nice game!

I liked the idea of having the heartbeats represent the healthbar, the audio works really well. It is a bit simple with only two spots where the chemicals attack Tim, but overall, it is nice. Congrats!

More Research! by Zipp 2017-12-09T10:49:48Z

It was a fun if a bit long game. I like the idea but the last levels are too much of a slow back and forth with heavy stuff. But I have to say, the amount of content here is astonishing!

I also don't understand why the music is so low? I can't even hear it, and the constant beeps ended up being kinda annoying. Overall, a fun little game, great job!

Junk by jjjjason 2017-12-16T19:46:38Z

A solid and clever twist on a classic game! I don't know what more I can say than all the other people. So yeah, congrats!

Frostbite by Blinkeye 2017-12-08T13:09:33Z

Really impressive for a compo game!

The art is great (I especially love how the character get more and more snow on him as you stay outside), the concept is simple yet effective. The audio is a bit on the down side, but it isn't that much of a big deal.

Congrats! My score was 322 seconds.

Guardian Angel by Raven 2017-12-07T11:48:53Z

Congrats on making a game for the compo! :)

I have to say your game feel a bit too slow. What didn't help was the WASD keys for my AZERTY keyboard as well x) The idea is nice, but I think it would need more polish. Plus, once you get hit twice or three times, it's like a game over considering how slow you become ^^

Overall, it could be better, but congrats for making the deadline. Keep on working! :)

The Good Boi by Pixelome 2017-12-23T11:38:48Z

Nice one! I like the simple - yet effective - idea, the graphics are nice as well. I'd say the atmosphere is a bit strange in those dark alleys though ^^ I found the handling to be a bit hard to master to make the cats move the way we want them too. Otherwise, a pretty strong and fun entry. Congrats on being a good boi! ;)

Mobs by Iferit 2017-12-09T09:50:33Z

Haha, super funny game!

The idea is simple but truly effective, the graphics are great, and the game goes completely crazy really fast! Great great little game you made here. Congrats!

Clean this mess ! by Diblow 2017-12-06T15:05:35Z

Great game! It starts a bit too slow but god damn it, chaos is sure to arrive rather sooner than later!

The graphics are good, the music is nice, the game is just pure fun with those damn little devils! Really really fun, congrats for making this game!

My score was 05:54, everything was under control until the 5:00 mark x)

Grim Reaper by Lamossus 2017-12-08T13:19:27Z

Nice game!

I would have appreciated something other than an invisible wall to limit the area of playing though ^^ Other than that, I think your game is fine. As others said, a bit more feedback when you hit an enemy would be a plus too. Overall, it is nice and fun, so congrats!

Dr. Micro vs The Virus by Nekomews 2017-12-23T11:33:13Z

Haha, I wasn't ready for that much speed! Gotta go fast!

A bit too hard to control it though, I ended up bouncing around like a mad man pretty quickly. Otherwise, a pretty strong entry with a good idea. Congrats!

Crazy Trucker by Matthew Foley 2017-12-06T16:58:40Z

The truck is a bit hard to control, especially in tight curves. I like the idea of displaying the HUD at the back of the truck, but I would gladly have something to tell me where crates are.

Overall, the idea is nice but I found it hard to stay focused on the task with that music and those rather strange physics. Congrats on making the game anyway! :)

Flash Light by Newbicus 2017-12-06T17:12:46Z

The idea is original and I like it! However, the graphics aren't really good and even with the full light on, I found the game to be pretty easy. A gun, a bullet, an energy ball, something would have been nice to see that we actually kill the monsters.

That being said, you managed to make the deadline, so congrats and keep on working! :)

Stealy by Grentacular 2017-12-07T17:39:33Z

Nice!

The idea is well programmed, I liked the art in the cutscene as well. I just think it tends to be a bit too easy not to lose, even if that means you only get 100$ per houses. Overall, a strong and fun entry, congrats!

Avoid the big red lady, OTOH she poops coins by Aarre Entertainment 2017-12-16T19:32:50Z

Interesting! I love the art style even if I think the more realistic texture of the ground kinda "ruin" it. The light system is awesome otherwise. As for the game itself, I couldn't find a single coin after I got 7 of them, despite following the Red lady running like a madwoman. It was funny though!

Congrats!

Darklike by clachipso 2017-12-08T12:51:50Z

Wow! Great game!

I like the idea of the shriking light circles, the audio is nice, the graphics are great and overall it just works wonderfully well. Congrats!

(My best score was 84 orbes)

LD42 — Running out of space

Withsand by TerraCottaFrog 2018-08-14T12:44:20Z

Nice game! A bit hard to understand how the menu works at first, but once you get it... ^^

Amazing graphics! Love the audio as well, and I like how you can trace down your opponents. Congrats on the great job!

Hitch Bird by Hjalte 2018-08-16T13:01:50Z

Nice idea! As others said, it does get repetitive though. Being a demon bird is a nice touch, but you can easily just use that tactic over and over again ^^

That being said, the idea is great and I like the simple graphics. Congrats on making the deadline! :)

Blow the Hen Down by NickZangus 2018-08-15T10:08:28Z

Haha, super funny game! I love your attention to details (even upon launching Unity and selecting the quality of graphics!)

It's incredibly funny to try to get rid of these hen, only to find out there's like a thousand of them in a place you haven't been before. Anyway, great job!

Break-in by erikkire 2018-09-02T10:42:37Z

The idea is nice but it gets a bit boring pretty quickly, unfortunately. The bounce mechanic is also a bit strange (I don't really get why the ball behave that way?), but this is a nice entry otherwise.

Like others said, a few more content would probably benefit your game. Maybe for a future update? :)

Raiders of the Lost Beer by sawtan 2018-08-16T12:32:49Z

Nice game! ^^ Simple but effective idea, wish there was a bit more content but there isn't a lot of time to work! ^^

My only complain would be about WASD, as I'm using an AZERTY keyboard. Other than that, I think the character moves a bit slowly, but that's a minor thing. Great job on the graphics, would have loved to hear some music on it by the way ^^

Anyway, congrats for this good game! :)

Sweet Squire O' Mine by Plepletier 2018-08-15T10:01:35Z

Wow, great game! I love the main idea of the game, even if I didn't fully understand how everything worked in the first place ^^

Other than that, I didn't truly felt like running out of space, but I see where the theme is supposed to be. Anyway, great work on the art as well, and great game overall. Congrats!

Warp Tunnel by TheMonsterFromTheDeep 2018-08-16T13:13:49Z

Nice entry! I like the way you use the theme of the LD and explained it. Nice retro-feel as well.

Your game has a lot of content, why is pretty enjoyable! :) I think the hitbox was a bit too small though, but I don't usually play bullet hell games so...?

Anyways, congrats on your game :)

Bomber Dash by harusame 2018-08-14T12:29:28Z

What a pretty game to look at ^^

It controls smoothly enough, even if I think it is hard to attack when moving vertically. Other than that, the game is great! I do believe you get to die a bit quickly, but it isn't too much of a big deal.

Congrats on such a polished game, with, once again, those online scores ^^

Lava Rider by Linky439 2018-08-15T13:52:35Z

@wolfrug thanks :) I guess I am just getting used to 8-bit palettes ^^

Yeah, I agree with you on the gameplay, I may work back on it to add that kind of stuff one day :) Same for the color of the text!

Lava Rider by Linky439 2018-08-17T21:31:27Z

@dragojt Hehe, GM is my go-to software since I was 11 in 2005 ^^ The blurry effect might come from the 30 FPS? I kinda had that impression as well sometimes when playing in large screen size...

@nnnikki Yeah, I do realize the gravity could have been better handled. 0.3 would probably have been better for sure ^^ Yeah, I did all that in 48 hours :) I didn't encounter major setbacks while making this game (compared to the previous LD I did), so I managed to work quite efficiently on this one ^^

The Super Olympic Death Race From Space Leaving Space Relay Septathalon 199996 by 100th_Coin 2018-08-13T18:05:08Z

Great idea! I like the wacky physics as well, as it gives these good old olympic games a fresh new look!

I am not a fan of restarting all over everytime you fail, as you more or less have to die a couple of times before advancing any further. I like the 110m hurdles, but not enough to play it 6 times in 3 minutes :p

Other that that, good job!

(The screen size is a bit too big for my computer though, it barely fits when I drag the window as high as I can)

Into Asteroid Belt by Jakub Kazimierski 2018-08-13T18:10:21Z

A solid entry for this LD :) Like the others, I like the gameboy aesthetics, even if I think your game could have had some more animations or more unique sprites, and being able to scale up the window would have been nice ^^

Other than that, it's simple and works well. Too bad there's no audio though! Good job anyway :)

SQUASH KILL by Smithy 2018-08-13T17:56:03Z

Nice take on the theme! I would have loved a few more animations when you move around and some sound effects, but I understand 48h can be a bit short for all this ^^

8 kills for 158 points. I'd say the character is a bit slow too, but other than that, it's good :)

W a l l i f o r n i c a t i o n by psychead 2018-08-13T18:12:38Z

Would have loved to give your game a try but it says "Failed to load mono" upon launching it... :(

W a l l i f o r n i c a t i o n by psychead 2018-08-14T12:06:46Z

@psychead I have to say I'm running on an old Windows Vista, which might explain some troubles. Anyway, never had any problem of that kind before, and even moving the game folder in C:/Users/Linky439 didn't fix the problem.

As for the web version, as I said, I'm on Vista which means old browsers that aren't updated anymore and it seems the web version doesn't want to launch on neither Firefox nor Chrome. Here's the error displayed at launch: "uncaught exception: WebAssembly support is not detected in this browser."

W a l l i f o r n i c a t i o n by psychead 2018-08-14T14:32:15Z

@psychead Wow, thanks! It does work now, sorry for bothering you that much over an outdated OS ^^'

That being said, great game! Simple yet very effective idea, with our space to move around being reduced over time (like in Tron for instance). I like the atmosphere as well! The only issue I have with it is, as others have said, it is hard to tell when you'll crash into a wall and when you'll be fine. Other than that, great great game! Congrats! :)

Universal Vacuum Cleaner by GameWolves 2018-09-02T10:54:19Z

Good idea! I like the online highscore table as well.

However, the player select screen is a bit confusing at first :p And it's also impossible to grab every thing that comes towards the black hole... Why does everything explode also? ^^

Anyway, the main idea is good and the game overall is good. Good job! :)

Edge Runner by Johnny Turbo 2018-09-02T11:05:52Z

Great game! The idea is super nice and well implemented. It isn't easy to get it right when you play it for the first time ^^

Love the "ending" as well. Can't say I expected such an apocalyspe on my screen :p

As others said, graphics could be better and some audio would have been nice, but overall, great entry! Congrats!

Ludum Dare Simulator 2019 by samboyer276 2018-08-17T15:01:07Z

Love the idea! 7 mini-games in one, and it works truly well!

I wonder if anyone managed to reach first place with this limited space disk though ^^ Funny idea, good graphics and sound, good gameplay... Congrats! :)

Floor killer by Bentekiller 2018-08-15T09:45:53Z

Like others, I'm not sure what we're supposed to do, or wait for... I kinda expected an angel to come down at one point, but didn't happen. I fell a couple of time but that didn't change anything...?

Other than that, the game looks good and sounds good.

Your favourite game by XCVZXC 2018-08-14T12:35:09Z

Nice take on the theme! The desktop is super nice, and I love the main idea behind your game.

Not a huge fan of losing your score when you run out of RAM, but I understand why you did that (after all, if your computer crashed, you don't get to keep your score).

I wouldn't have used those green particles effect in the game though, as they don't really go well with the 1-bit aspect of the game overall. Other than that, great job!

Your favourite game by XCVZXC 2018-08-14T12:36:57Z

Just found out it is pretty easy to cheat your way to the recycle bin by the way, with that beautiful txt file :3 Fun way to use the recycle bin by the way ^^

Oniria Times by 0nironauta 2018-08-17T13:42:10Z

Great idea! Funny game and interesting idea of the player telling its own story ^^ (I did make the fishes win the first time, hehe)

Not sure I understood everything I did (I get some stories published will lead to a victory of the tunas or not, but for the thiefts?) but the ride was fun enough for me to replay it twice ^^ I would have loved to have a bit more different content based on the previously published news, but I understand you probably didn't have the time to add more articles!

Congrats! :)

Splinter $ell by Colletto Gregory 2018-08-16T12:43:03Z

Good idea for this theme! I do think, like others, that the control are really hard to understand: it wasn't until, by pure luck, I selected both one of the contracts and the first blue block with the right click that I started to understand how it works.

It doesn't help that you start with 2 seconds to react too ;)

Other than that, it's quite good actually. The screen gets filled pretty fast but the game isn't too hard. Good idea, too bad the tutorial wasn't really helpful to understand how the game works ;)

WHELM by Ethan Nachreiner 2018-08-14T12:28:13Z

Is that what chaos look like? x)

Great game! A bit hard to understand what's going on at some points, but overall, it's fun! And god damn it, what a slaughter! xD

I don't know if you fix that since the original LD version, but there were a lot of instances when no sound effects were played during the mayhem. Is it due to the bullet-time effect?

Anyway, great job on this game, it looks great (but definitively not suited for epileptics), controls well enough (even if as a QWERTY keyboard user, WASD ain't really easy to use :p) and is overall fun. Congrats!

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

I Demand Blood! by Yirggzmb 2018-12-08T11:12:40Z

Haha, funny game! ^^ Like others have pointed out, maybe adding some stuff you musn't sacrifice could be a nice idea, but it is alreay a quite charming game. Those damn toddlers sure are running fast :p

Graphics are nice, love the sounds effects, and it's funny. Congrats!

Whale-mas by Ranner198 2018-12-14T21:46:05Z

OMG, what a cute whale! :D Love the little voice clips, the graphics are really nice as well ^^

My only gripe with your game is the lack of "sacrifices". But you've got quite a fun game that you can probably expand on for the future ^^

Congrats!

Eradicator by Linky439 2018-12-06T21:35:12Z

Thanks! Killing innocents is the "sacrifice" part of it, as you have to sacrifice innocent lives in order to accomplish your mission ;)

Eradicator by Linky439 2018-12-07T11:17:25Z

@silkworm-sweatshop Thanks ^^

Yeah, why was an 8 year old homeless a target? Gotta make you think about what kind of orders you are following, right?

Eradicator by Linky439 2018-12-07T21:51:15Z

Thanks! I see what you mean. Yeah, it's pretty hard to avoid the civilians, there's probably something I could have done about that!

Eradicator by Linky439 2018-12-10T10:21:42Z

@guy-withivy Thanks for the feedback! I wasn't sure about the speed of scrolling, but since you have to go from one side of the town to another, I thought it'd better be fast ^^

@jequed You psychopath! ^^ Yeah, it made sense to me that people would run off whenever something was shooting close to them! Thanks for the feedback :)

@fattori Thanks! I might polish it a bit, I don't know yet... We'll see!

Eradicator by Linky439 2018-12-11T16:34:44Z

@egos Thanks!

@slashee-the-cow Thanks for the feedback! Well the theme was "Sacrifices must be made", not "Would you sacrifice..." ^^ So yeah, you must kill innocents to get your targets.

Eradicator by Linky439 2018-12-16T18:21:46Z

@oda Thanks!

@firebug The only way to be a pacifist is by killing litteraly no one ^^ I'm happy to see you liked the ending, it was exactly designed with that in mind.

Good ideas for an eventual update, I'll keep that in store somewhere. Thanks for the feedback! :)

SheeBalloon by Rudenko 2018-12-14T21:40:05Z

Wow, incredible graphics! The overall game is really solid with a simple but truly effective mechanic.

My only complain would be that you can end up with only a really tiny balloon which makes you go suuuuuper slowly ^^ Oh, and not too sure about the "sacrifice" part?

Other that that, it's really good! Once again, fantastic graphics ^^ Congrats!

Auto-Freeze! 3000© by yyam 2018-12-06T21:54:51Z

Really nice game! The idea is fantastic, but as others pointed out, some levels are a bit too hard (that 3rd level ><) The graphics are good, the music is nice, and I believe that with a bit of polish, you have something truly nice here! Congrats!

En Passant by Paul Nadan 2018-12-09T15:40:56Z

Wow, great idea! Turning the chest game into a platformer is really nice. It does work well, even if some sections aren't really easy ^^

The graphics are good, I like the handling (even if the pawn moves a bit too fast for my liking ^^) and I like your take on the theme.

A really clever game! Congrats!

The Life of a Corporate Drone by Slashee the Cow 2018-12-12T19:59:53Z

Nice idea! It took me a first try to fully understand how it all works but it's nice. Pretty simple but effective!

I think I had a glitch on my first game though: I had a couple of bars already set to 0 when I started? Left me a bit puzzled but it didn't happen on my 2nd and 3rd tries...

Like others said, I believe it's a bit too easy to live indefinitively with only 2 bars to take care of. But I think your game is rather nice, congrats! :)

Spirit Desperate by zanagi 2018-12-12T18:06:22Z

Very interesting game! ^^

I found it hard to understand how to clear a level as the melee attack has poor range and poor power, so I had to rely on throwing my friends at the black boxes to win. But otherwise, it's a great idea, I love the camera angles, the little "BAM" are fun to see... Really well polished game!

I'd just say that having to go through the "cutscenes" every time you die is a bit frustrating, but other than that, you did really great! Congrats!

Melon Squad by Balduvian Dead 2018-12-14T14:47:43Z

I'd love to try it out but I can't even finish the first level. The carrot up there is shooting me no matter how fast I try to react. I can duck the first bullet by slightly climbing down the ladder, but then it shoots me again before I'm close enough to blow it up...

Too bad, cause I like the idea and the way it looks :( The audio's nice as well! Any tips to help me out?

Il Était Un Petit Navire (There was a little ship) by Yorsh 2018-12-07T22:07:58Z

Really nice idea! ^^ It gets a couple of tries to understand how all this really works, but once you get it, it's pretty fun.

It does get a bit frustrating sometimes when the islands are just too far away, or your sailors too incomptent, but I understand the trouble of meeting the deadline ;) Some audio would have been nice as well. Otherwise, this is a rather solid game with a funny and enjoyable idea! Congrats!

Life in the Trenches by meskaline 2018-12-06T21:43:41Z

Interesting idea! I like the graphics (even if a background could have made a nice addition ^^), and while I found the main mechanic easy to understand, I believe your game relies too much on random. During my first playthrough, I only got one question and sometimes it took forever for an enemy to appear.

The idea is very cool though, congrats!

Seppo VS Goblins by Feilkin 2018-12-31T11:20:36Z

Fun game! The graphics are nice, congrats on that!

Your game is fairly classic, but I think it is a bit too slow? Sometimes you walk for a bit too long before reaching the next enemy/platform, and sometimes you have to wait several seconds doing nothing until a moving platform comes along.

Other than that, it's really fine. The boss fight is a bit repetitive but it's allright. Overall, I would have loved to have some music (and why do the knifes sound like laser beam when you throw them? ^^) but it's a fun game. Congrats!

CatBot by Sozey 2018-12-31T11:33:10Z

Good graphics! Unfortunately, I really don't know how it is possible to play for more than 30 seconds without dying... I don't understand why you lose some health while shooting. And I was playing on Easy difficulty x)

Too bad, the game looked fun but I can barely play it. Out of curiosity, I did try to explore (haven't seen the sign to go to another level at first) but then I died pretty quickly once I start defending myself :(

At least the graphics are nice and the audio is as well!

Flock of Salvation by Juutis 2018-12-15T15:50:30Z

Interesting game! :) I thought it'd be an easy task... Little did I know those damn birds would soon be flying all over the damn place, even preventing me from throwing their dead friends in the volcano!

A funny game overall, even if I thought at first the mojo bar was glitched but I was just always hit by the birds x) Like others said, your game might need a bit more emphasis on how much we calm the Gods when we throw a bird, because I wasn't sure my sacrifices were working in the begining.

Otherwise, good audio (but the eruption sound might be a bit too loud), good graphics. Congrats!

Flightless by Lemons 2018-12-14T14:37:59Z

Poor baby birds :(

Good idea to use the bodies of the fallen to continue. However, I would say it is sometimes more boring than anything to just pile up bodies to reach high points (especially the first time you ask us to do this, with a huge triangle, takes forever :p ) Other than that, the others ideas you implemented kept the game fresh and interesting. Good graphics, the audio is nice as well.

Congrats!

water ruins escape from cultist by Rs11s21n 2018-12-10T20:43:32Z

Really beautiful game, but I've encountered way too many glitches in this one. Sometimes falling from a high point make me warp back to a fountain and then restart the game, sometimes it just harm me... Also had the game randomly restart at some point x)

Like others pointed out, the constant dialog prevents the progression from being smooth, and the platforming is kinda hard.

The art is great though, and the audio is really nice as well. So you may have some stuff to improve, but I think you have a good core idea! Fix those programming problems and you should have a nice little game ^^

Lucifer's Plain by drikdrok 2018-12-14T14:55:30Z

Good twist on an otherwise classic gameplay. The game is fun but I have to say maybe 100 souls is a bit much at the begining? Maybe something like the further you go, the more souls you have to kill... I don't know, just throwing ideas ^^

Otherwise, it is pretty solid. Minor complain: why do you have two guns if you only shoot one line of bullet ? :p

Anyway, congrats!

Tendie Revengie by Jequed 2018-12-09T15:31:21Z

What. The. Hell? Haha, fantastic game! Love the graphics, the audio is funny as hell as well.

It took me several tries to understand what to do (I didn't get you could go from one side of the room to another) but oh my god, what an ungrateful son! Farting on his mom? Throwing piss at her? Jesus!

Great game, loved it and had a good laugh thanks to it. Congrats!

One Life Ain't Enough by oda 2018-12-10T20:35:13Z

Nice game! I love the idea, and you manage to make it work throughout all your levels. The downpoint is, as others said, there are some glitches here and there (double jump, sliding through the walls) but it is overall pretty nice!

I've never tried PICO-8, is it easy to use?

Anyway, for a first jam, it's quite good actually. Congrats! ^^

One Life Ain't Enough by oda 2018-12-11T16:37:42Z

@oda Thanks for the answer! I'm mostly familiar with GameMaker but I also tried out some Gamebuino (basically an Arduino-console), which seems fairly similar to pico-8 judging by what you say. There are just a few built-in functions to do things such as load pictures, but the rest is all up to the programmer!

Lava King by Jay Elbourne 2018-12-10T20:31:01Z

Fun game! I like the simple but effective idea, the graphics are cool, the audio is nice as well. As others have pointed out, sometimes the enemies are stuck inside walls and it is a bit hard to get the length of your attack, but otherwise, this is a nice and fun game ^^ Congrats!

Sacrifice to win by Codinggamer 2018-12-31T11:37:45Z

Lovely concept! Really like the idea, and finished it with barely one life left ^^

Like others pointed out, the platform positioning is a bit off at times. Other than that, I think your game is fine. Audio could have used a bit more polish (some sounds are a bit too loud) but it's allright.

Overall, a nice little game. Congrats!

Fistful of Sacrifices by BloodyOrchidDC 2018-12-12T17:56:29Z

Good game! I died at 325 points, unfortunately. I liked the sacrifice idea, the graphics are great as well! As others have pointed out, some audio would have been great, but it's OK, 48h is a short span of time ^^

Otherwise, the handling is solid. Congrats!

EagleSong by planschi 2018-12-07T13:11:30Z

Very funny! It's a bit hard to control the bird, but it's a funny game nonetheless. Like others, I would have loved a victory screen (and a menu?), but apart from that, it's pretty good. The theme is a bit far-fetched, but the game is fine anyway.

Congrats!

Fruitful Reward by Mohrro 2018-12-09T15:25:57Z

Well, that ain't an easy game once you leave the green world ^^ I like the simple but effective gameplay, love the music as well (great idea to have more than one track depending on the difficutly!)

It gets hard rather quickly when you play in blue and red world! Making the jump straight from the green to the red world was quite... Surprising!

That being said, I think the game can get a bit repetitive (especially in the easiest level) as you only collect stuff without any evolution besides your score. But other than that, it's a good and well polished game. Congrats!

Evan and The Jellyfish Sword by Lontrus 2018-12-07T13:03:56Z

Haha, damn, a WASD game x) It was a bit hard to play with my AZERTY keyboard, but I tried it out. I believe the game is a bit too hard (way too many enemies on the screen) and I didn't truly find the "sacrifice" in it? Yes, you do lose some HP with the checkpoints, but it isn't that big of a sacrifice.

Otherwise, cool idea, there's potential for a full fledged-out game there! Congrats!

Judgement of a Priest by SuperGobo 2018-12-08T10:59:51Z

Great idea! I think it is a bit too hard to understand what sacrifice to do, but it might have been intentionnal? I didn't get what the signs were at my first try, and you hardly have any feedback other than your overall score at the end.

But other than that, the art is top notch, the audio is great, the texts are funny... Great game overall!

Congrats!

For You by FireBug 2018-12-15T15:43:13Z

Interesting game! ^^ That's definitively an unique project you've made there. Nice to see some variety in LD!

As others have pointed out, some audio, even just a music to help us fit in those days would have been great :) As far as choices go, I took good care of everyone (even thought the bandits must have a poor family at home) and then tried out the exact opposite. Anyway, good choice, it was a fun ride! :) Congrats!

LD46 — Keep it alive

Bait by Jcourt 2020-04-26T09:43:50Z

Nice entry!

The idea is simple and effective, but yeah, getting cornered by enemies is quickly frustrating. There are a huge amount of levels though, congrats on that! The graphics can be improved I think. Just a simple walk animation would make the game way more "alive" :)

Overall a strong entry, with a good base. Congrats!

Feed Your Monster by bemmu 2020-04-26T10:21:50Z

Noooo, poor baby monster, why do you keep on eating nuclear stuff?

Very funny game! I managed to make him reach 80% potential before he decided a dynamite stick was healthier than grapes. God damn it. Graphics are really cute, audio is good, controls are nice, and the idea is really well implemented. I had a really fun time with this one!

Definitively a super nice game. Congrats!

Sharkbait by Jimbly 2020-04-24T20:00:30Z

Nice game!

The idea is simple and works well. I find the shark to be a bit slow at the beginning (and almost too fast when I died) but otherwise the controls are fine.

I didn't truly understand when you get to upgrade? Great graphics by the way. I would have also made the sound effects a bit quieter, but other than that, a great entry. Congrats!

Sharkbait by Jimbly 2020-04-25T08:28:17Z

@jimbly Thanks for the answer, I figured it was something like that but I couldn't see any enemies on the screen at one point and no popup showed up, so I wasn't so sure ^^

Good idea by the way, it's better than to get distracted in the middle of a fight as you say. Another solution was maybe to use a dedicated button to power-up ?

Motobot Defender by pkenney 2020-04-23T19:50:30Z

I loved it!

Great innovative controls, super nice-looking game, overall very fun. I am not sure I have understood how the scoring works with combo but I ended with 12 750 points, which is OK for me as M.O.T.H.E.R did not take a single hit.

Would have love even more some more varied enemies (at least they way they are spread on the map as they are always in a straight line) but what you did is alreay really great. Congrats!

Alien Intensive Care by Linky439 2020-04-22T10:45:22Z

Thanks to both of you for your comments :)

You are not the first one to have issue with the bleeding part. I guess sometimes the cotton is touching too many spurts of blood and it reaches its absorption limit too quickly to diminish the blood jets.

I probably spent a little too much time on the graphics of big sprites and should have focused a bit more on the gameplay itself... Again, thanks for the feedback :D

Alien Intensive Care by Linky439 2020-04-24T19:25:05Z

@polegar Thanks :) Yeah, it seems the game is too difficult for most players. I don't recall finding it too hard while making it but I guess it's easy when you've been playing it non-stop for the last 48h x)

Thanks for the feedback!

Alien Intensive Care by Linky439 2020-04-25T09:33:00Z

@mneubrand Thanks! That was my aim with this game :)

@luckyfeathers Yeah, I figured out several people at trouble with the bleeding game. And good point with the lack of feedback from the ECG, I really should have thought about that. Thanks!

@cavedens I believe the issue with this minigame is that the blood spills actually multiply overtime, and I guess the cotton pads get soaked up too quickly to finish it. Thanks for the feedback!

@belowzerogames Thank you :)

Alien Intensive Care by Linky439 2020-04-25T21:24:00Z

@kekkodude Thanks!

Yeah, it seems there are issues for everyone with the blood spilling one. Thanks for the feedback! Oh, and nice spotting that spelling mistake: I must say I wrote the help texts in a hurry towards the end of the deadline! ^^

Alien Intensive Care by Linky439 2020-04-25T21:30:01Z

@capital-asterisk Thanks!

Yes, each cause has its own health that decreases at time goes by. I agree with your remarks on both the surgical and bleeding minigame, I never encountered any major issue with those but I guess it's normal when you made the rules in the first place ^^

Thanks for the feedback!

Alien Intensive Care by Linky439 2020-04-26T09:11:35Z

@jcourt Thanks!

Yeah, the bleeding game is sure flawed. Thanks for the feedback! I used to offer the choice of screen resolution and window size in other LD games, but didn't really think about it this time. I'll keep it in mind for the next time :)

Alien Intensive Care by Linky439 2020-04-26T20:43:44Z

@marc-grabow Very strange, I never heard about GM games not starting... What OS are you on?

@sam-minh Thanks! You're supposed to absorb the blood using the cotton pads, but it seems the game can quickly turn in a no-win situation in this minigame, unfortunately.

@james-beninger Thanks! Yes, I agree on the lack of feedback, I tried to add a couple of sound effects here and there but way more could have been done in hindsight.

@quinn-patrick Thanks for the feedback! I understand for the resolution, I'll try to add a window size/fullscreen option for the next LD. As for typos and strange sentences in the help, those were text written around 1 hour before submitting the game and I'm not a native speaker, and I do remember having issues clearly describing every minigame with few words ^^

@prepparedheathen Thanks! Yep, difficulty and window size are the main complains I recieve on this game.

Vampire BloodLust 3D by polegar 2020-04-23T19:58:44Z

Ah, nice, a raycasting game! I've always wanted to try my hand at this one day ^^

Fun idea. I did find a couple of glitches here and there (there are some immortal ladies) but knowing this is pure JS is pure magic. Really impressed by the stuff you pulled with JS.

I'm sure you can do something really nice building upon what you made for the compo! Congrats :)

Age of Aquaria by mahalis 2020-04-24T19:43:37Z

Oops, a lot of fishes are dead.

Nice one! The graphics are great (simple yet very effective 3D), and the idea is fun if a bit hard to master. I managed to always get a least one fish in every stage (including a finish a couple of seconds before the timer ran out). A fun ride, I would have love a bit more audio and I feel it is hard to predict how the fishes will move. But overall, a nice game, congrats!

The Heart Of The Keep by BluShine 2020-04-25T22:14:37Z

Incredible game!

The graphics are top notch, the mood is simply off the charts! Love the writing, the audio is magnificent (and terrifying to be honest ^^') and I liked it so much I went after the 4 endings. The atmosphere is great. The only gripe I have is that it is a bit hard to know where you can go and what is a "door".

Otherwise, an absolutely fantastic entry. Congrats, this is really one of my fave so far!

The Lockdown by loudrasiel 2020-04-21T19:49:09Z

Hahaha, yes, finally a world where we could get rid of reforms!

Funny game. It lacks a bit of feedback and I ended up stuck in a "loop" with my only actions being either increasing the ICU or the number of tests.

Still a funny idea (with the nod towards Macron's speech about "war", nice one). I ended the pandemic in 176 days with 6 millions death. 10% is gone, not too bad.

Congrats!

Juggle Jungle by shaulor 2020-04-23T19:43:01Z

Nice game!

I like the idea of it, but I find it rather difficult to control the jump speed and distance of the egg when you throw it. Makes some sections a bit too frustrating. As others pointed, I think the music is a bit too "evil" for a cute game like this.

Otherwise, a pretty nice game, with good graphics and a good idea. Congrats!

The Protector by James Gillespie 2020-04-24T19:28:17Z

Nice game!

I did run into some trouble though... I can see errors pop up in the command windows behind the game every time I "kill" something => " At: servers/physics_2d/physics_2d_server_sw.cpp:409 rock hit ERROR: Can't change this state while flushing queries. Use call_deferred() or set_deferred() to change monitoring state instead."

And I can't seem to pass day 3... ? On the previous day, the wizard asked for 41 golds and 1 iron, I had around 90 golds and 12 irons but the village didn't have enough resources?

Otherwise, a solid entry! The graphics are nice (even if it lacks a bit of animation), the audio is a nice touch. I'd have been nice to have a different sound effect when we hit the enemies than when we get hit, but it's fine this way.

Overall, a nice little game. Congrats!

Timmy & Rock by KekkoDude 2020-04-25T21:40:22Z

Nice idea!

The game clearly has potential, but lacks a bit of feedback and diversity. You probably should also hide the cursor and make the crosshair displayed in front of enemies :)

Some more indication of the rock's health would have been nice too. But I agree with @philip45, you have the base down :) Congrats!

Morose by 100th_Coin 2020-04-22T22:02:39Z

Wow, I absolutely loved it! The aesthetics are top notch, the audio is really great, the gameplay is very very nicely done and very clever. Fun little story and there's tons of potential for a fully fledged-out game there.

Congrats for the good work, keep it up, this is for sure my favorite entry so far :)

Gino the Neutrino by Dark_Power 2020-04-23T19:24:48Z

Hell yeah, that's a cool one!

The idea is simple and well implemented (love the educational aspect and the funny bits in the descriptions) Not so sure that the game music matches well what happens on the screen, but anyway. A really well done game, with a fun idea, congrats :)

I reached the Earth in my best shot but "died" shortly after... At least I managed to say hello to Gino :)

Rebutia by 43sam 2020-04-22T21:46:10Z

Nice game!

Love the art style. The music is nice, and I like the idea of the game. Arrow keys didn't work for me (?) so I had to settle with WASD with an azerty keyboard ^^ Died between 300 and 400, is there other enemies down the line?

Anyway, really liked it. Congrats!

Plum by Heelio157 2020-04-24T21:13:45Z

Ah, super jeu !

LavaLampSpaceMission by Fabian G 2020-04-26T10:30:52Z

Nice idea!

I like the slow travel to an extend, it is sometimes hard to figure out where to go, and it is long when you missed your jumping window and have to wait to do a complete rotation around the asteroid. Graphics are fine, I would have loved some audio to put me more in the mood!

Overall, a strong entry with a nice idea, congrats :)

House Bouncers by LuckyFeathers 2020-04-25T11:35:07Z

Nice one!

The idea is pretty simple but effective. I had one Egg Boy who wouldn't throw any eggs after a while (?) but otherwise no issue. The upgrades of people might be a bit expensive but overall a solid game. I went up to wave 11 before being overwhelmed by brown neighbors ^^

Strong entry overall. Congrats!

Heart String by MZA 2020-04-24T19:34:45Z

Nice one!

Nice idea to make compelling puzzles. The graphics are nice, and so is the audio. I find there are too many particles though, they are flying everywhere, and the screen gets rather crowded when you die several times ^^

Overall a solid game. Congrats!

R-SAVIOR: COVID Destroyer by Capital-Asterisk 2020-04-25T21:56:57Z

Good game!

I got stuck a bit too much getting down the slope, which can be annoying after the second time or so. I like the idea though, but I also had trouble reading correctly where my laser would shoot.

I am not sure I understand how it is upgraded? Is it just by teleport back to the base after killing a big one?

I killed 9 huge viruses and 469 small ones. I'd say the game is a bit too slow to get started really, but the base is nice. Good graphics as well. Congrats!

Deforestree by Azo 2020-04-22T21:41:37Z

Nice idea!

As others said, a peaceful game. A bit too simplistic but I understand as you said you only worked on it on Sunday. Would have loved some orcs coming from more than one direction, maybe different kind of trees, stuff like that.

Overall, a fun little game, congrats :)

My sweet flower. by TheDebian 2020-04-21T19:01:03Z

What a strange game we have here!

I did not expected this to turn into... Whatever you wanna call it. Funny one, with a nice minigame in the middle, but I'd say the end cutscene drags on a bit. Funny writing as well. And that guy you play as? Creepy as hell.

Congrats for making a nice game like this! :)

Remember, Apollo by AdamCYounis 2020-04-21T18:48:47Z

Wow, this game looks absolutely incredible! Graphics are more than top notch. Beautiful scenery, great work with the colors. The audio is well done as well, congrats on that.

I truly enjoyed the game as a whole. The story is nicely told, and the gameplay is interesting if a bit frustrating at some points where it's hard to know if you're aiming right through the holes or not.

Overall a great game, even more considering it only took you 48 hours to do it. Congrats!

The Flame Within by FadrikAlexander 2020-04-23T19:13:30Z

Nice one!

It does feel a bit like that when you're trying to do some gamedev. You start up at some point and you end up 10 years later feeling like you haven't accomplished anything...

Anyway, fun little game :) Graphics are cute, the audio as well. I am not sure I understood perfectly why everything happened the way it happened (I got laid off my job at one point but I never did anything about getting one... ?) but I like the multiple endings.

Congrats :)

Keep Bloo Alive by cavedens 2020-04-25T11:47:11Z

Nice game!

I didn't manage beat the boss and didn't have the courage to restart everything again. Nice game otherwise, good controls, good graphics, it is really well done. I would have add a proper crosshair instead of the mouse cursor, and maybe make the boss' healthbar as a sprite rather than using GM's default, but that's nipticking. I do think the boss is way too tough as it seems it takes thousands of bullets to take it down?

Overall super nice game. Congrats!

Akula by Ilya_Nazarov 2020-04-25T22:02:47Z

Nice one!

I couldn't resist pressing a key during countdown to see the shark fly, sorry ^^ That being said, nice little game. I do think it is a bit too hard as you can't afford to miss a thing. Miss the first fish? Man I've got some bad news for you... ^^

Graphics are good. I would have loved some audio as well, even simple sound effects :) Overall, a solid entry with tons of potential. Congrats!

Keep Kitty Alive by joannetteg 2020-04-24T20:04:59Z

Nice take on the tamagotchi-genre!

My cat died after 81 seconds because I didn't teach him well. Poor kitty. At first I was like "this looks suspciously easy", but as soon as I got to manage 3 tasks... When the 6 were unleashed, I had truly arrived in hell.

Very fun game, simple but super effective. The graphics are really great, and the audio is nice.

Overall, a super strong entry. Congrats!

Darryl in Distress by KieranCoppins 2020-04-26T10:07:07Z

Nice idea!

I thought at first you had to repeatedly press the opposite direction of where Darryl was going (to prevent him from going there) but once I understood how it worked, I managed to save Darryl in a bit more than 56 seconds ^^

The graphics are nice, though I'm not sure I understand what the pile of rock next to a thermometer might be (trash ?), but overall a cute little game. I would have loved some audio as well :)

Overall a nice little entry, congrats!

Organ Simulator by mneubrand 2020-04-25T10:22:40Z

Oh yes, nice one!

It starts easy, and gets really tricky to handle. My only gripe would be that I don't know when the person will die (is it because they were coughing too much? Is there a life bar hidden somewhere?)

Othewise a fun idea, well executed. And damn is it easy to panic when you see the lungs are about to die! Congrats!

Nightmare Knights by Low Mana 2020-04-26T10:16:12Z

Nice one!

The idea is cute and well-thought. Like others pointed out though, my bears often have their back turned on the enemies, which resulted in their quick death and ultimately the death of the poor child. The counter of "hopes" was also half outside of my screen, so I had to guess if I was above 12 or not sometimes ^^

The voice is a nice idea, but it gets repetitive rather quickly unfortunately. Graphics are good (designs of the enemies are nice) Overall a strong entry (though I didn't find how to properly leave the game? I had to switch tabs and close it with a right click), congrats!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Falling Dwarf by Garywiss 2021-04-27T20:29:13Z

Incredible work! Amazing to see what you achieved in 3 days.

It is super fun to go down here, and wondering whether you should play it safe to keep your treasure or go deeper to get more of it. Also the rocket jetpack is funny! Great graphics, great audio, great game.

I went to 5876m before dying when my dwarf collided at Mach 3 speed with spikes :D

Congrats!

Monkey Quest by paulloz 2021-04-27T17:51:13Z

Wow, what a game! Great graphics, the concept is simple yet very solid. I love the overall presentation of the game, and it plays very nicely. Super polished and very, very well made.

I saved all of Bubble's friends! :D

Congrats!

👻 Dimansion 👻 by Mysticaldev 2021-04-30T21:55:05Z

Very interesting idea! I wasn't sure about what to expect here, but that was a nice surprise. The gameplay works well, and the whole mood is really nicely done. However, I felt going around in circle about some time: I reached stage 4, but no end in sight and I had been doing the same thing for the last 15 minutes. Other than that, the audio is great, the graphics are good and the game is rather impressive.

Congrats!

Ancient Maze (starring Mathilda Ayume) by Linky439 2021-04-29T20:57:21Z

@oc1d : very strange, I don't know what could cause this... :(

@patvanmackelberg @mexou @arista @vitor-figueredo @antonishig @automatonvx @noxymu5 @boxedmeatrevolution @alina-baybulatova @kfischer-okarin Thanks for your feedbacks! Yeah, the hitbox can be sometimes a bit tough to read, but it's nice to see you enjoyed the game!

Deeper and Deeper in Debt - Slumlord by automatonvx 2021-04-28T19:49:58Z

Interesting! Your game is simple enough to allow players to jump into it immediately, while remaining fun during the whole playthrough. In the end I settled for a rock solid strategy: 3 repair people to take care of 2 to 4 luxury appartments, a single fire truck and then spam those statues!

I encountered a glitch in which a worker worked forever on a house: the bar was filled but he was always busy, and the house's satisfaction kept on going down.

Overall, a nice little game, congrats!

Chess Hellevator by BoxedMeatRevolution 2021-04-29T21:28:16Z

Wow, superb idea! I love it. I really do! A fantastic idea and very well-executed. You really need to plan out your moves correctly. The graphics are good, the audio is good as well. Great, great game. I slained the Queen!

Congrats!

Boneitis - Quest for the Cure by patvanmackelberg 2021-04-27T17:07:53Z

Good concept! I like the little bit of humour at the beginning of the game, and overall your game is solid. Like others pointed out, it feels like you need an eternity to reach the 100,000 dollars! I feel the character (and everything, really) moves a bit too slowly as well.

But otherwise, a fun and solid little game. Congrats!

Descent into Midnight Trench by kfischer-okarin 2021-04-29T21:05:44Z

Nice small game! The concept is quite simple but effective. I liked the physics of the harpoon!

Like others, I did find a safe spot on the left side of the screen. Overall, a solid entry.

Congrats!

RAMnesia by 100th_Coin 2021-04-27T17:22:00Z

Wow, crazy concept you got here! Very well executed and made for some impressive puzzles, alongside a nice audio and great graphics.

I did have a few hiccups with the WASD control scheme being an AZERTY user, and it was sometimes frustrating to lose the items because you picked it a bit too early.

But otherwise, a fantastic entry for sure. Congrats!

Codename::GreyHat by Train27 2021-04-28T19:18:16Z

Wow, great great game!

I do admit I am quite the enjoyer of text-based experience, and yours was a very fun one. Digging through the system was quite fun! I had my piece of paper to write down the clues... Like a real detective!

Congrats, a very fun game for sure.

tetronimo! by gregfagan 2021-05-01T08:02:25Z

That's a good idea you got here! Playing some sort of 3D Tetris by having to place the pieces correctly was well thought-off. I just thought the game movement was way too fast, as it often found myself unable to align my piece correctly (it was always one "pixel" too much on the left, then the right, back to the left, etc.)

Otherwise, the game has tons of potential. The graphics were clear enough to figure out where to go, which was nice. Congrats!

Go, Little Mole! by maxr00 2021-05-01T07:45:19Z

Great game! The main idea is very good. Digging through the dirt made for interesting platforming, and I do believe you have strong foundations for a more fully fleshed-out game here. The graphics were good and very clear, as pointed out by others. I would have loved the game to go on a little longer but I'll take what I have ^^

The only thing that "bugged" me a bit was moving with keys, meaning only 8 directions were available. But I'm really nitpicking here, the game overall is very good already. Congrats!

Street Spark Racing by BytingGames 2021-05-01T07:57:54Z

Haha, great game!

I admit it, I did kick my buddy's car at the last race... Had to get to the finish line first, you know? :D Overall, a great entry. Good graphics, very good idea (even if a bit frustrating since it is super hard to push the car in the right direction with the character "sliding" off), funny dialogs...

Congrats!

Aqua Mine by kypello 2021-04-27T17:12:54Z

Nice one! I reached 278m and got 238 k$ on my best try.

A fun game, with nice audio (I love the little music!) and nice graphics. It is a bit hard to not hit walls at point but it's a really fun game anyway.

Congrats!

Depthplosion by HPA97 2021-04-29T21:40:40Z

Nice idea of some sort of reverse tile-matching game!

Dodging the bombs is quite interesting, even though I found it a bit slow at the start and then the bombs are very hard to see in the dark! Overall, nice graphics, the audio is fine as well. I just found the game a bit slow before an abrupt end.

Congrats!

Pescuit Pe Plajă by Trexxak 2021-04-30T11:03:46Z

Nice little game! I did not expect a fishing game to pop up, but there it is. A simple gameplay that works well, it was fun to see what kind of stuff I would be able to fish down there. The music was good as well.

Congrats!

Resurface by anchorlight 2021-04-28T21:39:40Z

Wow, very, very impressive! Incredible that you managed to put this out in 48h!

I love the atmosphere, I love the way you move around in total 3D, love the graphics and audio. I could only grab 2 mementos though, as I couldn't find anything else in the first two rooms and did not find anywhere else to go? I tried to go along the pipeline but both seemed dead-ends to me.

Overall, a fantastic experience for sure. I'll gladly keep an eye on any future title from you, as I think this concept fully-fledged out could be something special.

Congrats!

Subterplane by Bigbadbison 2021-04-28T21:46:40Z

A tough game for sure!

I like the idea, though the controls were a bit too sensitive and hard to master for me. I got past the 200m mark on three occasions, but would often lose control of my plane early on. Graphics are good as well!

For some reason, both options after crashing started a new cave in the web version?

Congrats on finishing the game!

Rootss by antonishig 2021-04-28T19:28:23Z

Nice idea!

A good take on the theme for sure. It was a bit hard to properly control the roots and to know how much water you needed to collect, but it's an overall solid game. I think also adding an easy way to see how big your tree is could help, as you need to scroll all the way back up and lose precious time doing so.

Congrats!

Force, Fall, Run, by AfutureV 2021-04-30T11:09:16Z

Haha, funny game!

I thought the game was being brutally difficult in the first race, then I saw the second and third... But before I knew it, I was flying!

Alas, all good things come to an end... But not my *love for running*.

Very funny game, well executed, congrats on the twist. A very solid game for sure!

Be Queen by Cody Miner 2021-05-01T19:34:14Z

Interesting idea! I must say see other bees killing themselves was unexpected ^^ Overall, a simple gameplay that works well. I finished with 30 bees remaining!

Being able to rotate would have probably helped a bit, but the game is done well enough for this not to be an issue. Congrats!

DeepVirus by LeSaintBiscuit 2021-05-01T18:35:40Z

Nice idea! Definitively didn't expect this one for sure. I did encountered an issue though, as when I loop, the final screen on the right is located too much on the right-hand side: Capture.PNG

This caused me many many death as I was chased down from one side, and couldn't see the obstacles on the other.

Other than this, this is a very interesting puzzle game (maybe a bit too hard at times?). Congrats!

Dahla's Journey by PiJaMar 2021-05-01T07:39:47Z

Wow, great great entry! I love the overall look and sound of the game (great music!), and it was very fun trying to find your way to the exit without making mistakes. I made it to the level 8!

The fact you always had to move made it an interesting game, like a strange game of chess where you have to move to some place no matter what your endgoal is. Overall, a fantastic game. Congrats!

Deepr Diver by Vitor Figueredo 2021-04-27T16:53:18Z

A simple but very well executed concept! And addictive! I love the overall look of the game, the music is nice as well, the character controls fine... Really a great little game you have here.

I would have moved the HUD at the top of the screen to let the player see what's coming from under, but otherwise a very solid game. Congrats!

LD55 — Summoning

Virtua Bob by MSolomon 2024-04-19T22:40:28Z

That voice acting is really fun in its overacting glory!

The game is very well done, it works like a charm and what a joy to take down these bloody coworkers, HR and the boss! Very funny and well executed. You also got a laugh out of me at some of these enemies (the golf guys!) and of course, the little cutscenes. The graphics are super effective as well.

Overall a very very nice entry. Very impressive, congrats! Time for a follow-up where you go after the competition as well :D

Alien Summoner by harusame 2024-04-16T12:42:24Z

Fantastic stuff!

Let's start with the "obvious": the game is pretty, full of colors yet always lisible, and the audio is terrific! The music is great, the sound effects are very nicely chosen and played. On top of that, the premise of the game is simple but terribly effective! It is such a fun time to go on a rampage for as long as possible, and the fact the different army vehicles react in a different way to the kaijus and to your UFO makes for an intriguing and addictive game.

The cherry on the top? The "TV news" text appearing every now and then!

Chefs from the Dead by Linky439 2024-04-16T14:02:35Z

@milano23 Thanks for the feedback! We tried to make who cooks what as clear as possible in our limited time, but it seems there is still some room to improve! :) The chef you are mentionning is not supposed to be slower on the hamburger, but we'll check. Thanks for the heads-up!

Chefs from the Dead by Linky439 2024-04-17T09:58:08Z

Thanks for the feedback @lelek-hunor-kadosa @kirass @cozary @archaeognathus @theheheo!

We agree that more cards and more foods would have been better, but we lacked time to do so. We are definitively planning to add some more content to the game in the future though! :) The balacing probably has issues as well, we are noting down all your feedbacks!

Sorry for the "no java" error, I must admit we tried to make an executable in the very last hour so it probably isn't perfect (but a great way to learn!). Overall this jam was a way for us to try our hand at coding a game in Java to keep on learning it and discover how to handle many things :)

@archaeognathus Best score of 10, congrats! I think my highest score was 7 or 8, so you are probably the world leader at Chefs from the Dead! :D

Chefs from the Dead by Linky439 2024-04-18T06:45:44Z

@human @heretic Yes, we will try to make a HTML build this week to make it easier for people to play it!

Chefs from the Dead by Linky439 2024-04-18T09:25:38Z

@human @heretic As promised, the HTML build is up! You can try it on the itch.io page, it should work fine from my quick tests this morning :)

Chefs from the Dead by Linky439 2024-04-19T16:20:51Z

@risminator Thanks! Good ideas, we planned on having more of everything (more cards in the hand of the player, more different chefs, more chefs cooking at the same time, more meals) but we ran out of time so we ended up doing a basic approach of "how much can you make in X seconds" ^^

@garywiss Thank you! Yep, 2 cards is a bit limited but with only 3 chefs and 3 meals, it seemed to be the best balance we could achieve. We do plan on expanding it with more diversity ;)

Chefs from the Dead by Linky439 2024-04-19T21:34:58Z

@gcake Ooooh the idea the chef would only make specific dishes could make for some interesting mechanics, let me note that down :D

Thanks for the feedback!

Summon Death by TheMadPangolin 2024-04-17T20:41:42Z

Super impressive! Graphics are top-notch, it controls very well (although I had to switch from AZERTY to QWERTY to be able to use WASD decently ^^) and there is a lot of juice which makes it incredibly polished.

I am very, very impressed, congrats! My only gripe is how falling strips you of two whole health points, which seems a little overkill. Otherwise, I have nothing to complain about, this is very very good.

Tonidachi by JSMCAG 2024-04-17T12:08:21Z

The core idea is very nice, but as others pointed out the game is currently way too slow (even sped up) for it to be engaging. Waiting for the sleep to end takes way too long for instance, and I barely made it to the second summoning event as I could't get the demon to train the bargaining skill (never was in the right mood apparently!)

The demon's design is fun and nicely done, though. I think you have a nice project that just needs some finetuning and maybe some more content (the idea above of adding minigames is a really good one) to make it better. Keep it up!

Streets of Mage! by Human Writes Code 2024-04-17T11:48:40Z

Nice little game! I couldn't go beyond the second flooding waves of enemies, I died at around 285 before I accidentally rolled out of the screen and died when returning. I don't have much to point out that others didn't already say, I believe it gets a little crowded very suddenly! Overall a nice game, the graphics and sound are cool and I had a fun time reading Tenticlor dialogs. Keep up the good work!

Raising the Bread by ZuhairGhias 2024-04-21T21:41:53Z

Wow, what a stylish game! I really enjoyed the fun little story and the summoning idea, and it is coupled with fantastic grawings and very nice audio as well (I love the little "woosh" the spoon does when you're repeatedly hitting enemies)

Overall I felt like the Dough-dough was way less useful than the other twos, so I stopped making them spawn unless I ran out of chocolate. Couldn't reach the end as the third boss took me down with their goons, but I had a really nice and fun time playing. I'd say the controls of the main character are a bit slowish, but otherwise it is really good. Congrats!

Cthulhu Defense by Flying Dog Fish 2024-04-26T09:56:41Z

Nice short game! I managed to summon Cthulhu, but it was getting tense murdering all these people at the end ^^

As others pointed out, a clearer indication of the level of our units and the cost of any action is what's missing the most. But I see you have a nice roadmap, cool! The graphics could be improved but are OK for a compo game. Overall the game works fine, and your future updates should bring some nice content to it! Congrats!

My succubus girlfriend by NinjaCatz 2024-04-17T22:18:06Z

Nice game! The graphics are really cool, and I love the idea. It's a good old-fashionned point&click, without having to think too much outside of the box to solve the riddles.

I think highlighting which of the objects we have not placed (and maybe give a few hints if needed?) would have helped, but I understand the time limits were too much to do this, and you've placed an "answer" file anyway with the game.

Cool game, cool graphics and audio, cool idea: congrats!

Naturevenge by Igoreshka 2024-04-26T10:07:28Z

Nice idea! The fact we have to recycle our units is quite fun and brings a new twist to this kind of genre. My main complain would be how it is hard to understand where you can drop a plant especially close to enemies and the main tree. My poor ancien tree got quite the beating because I had trouble finding out where to drop my plant! :D

It's a nice game otherwise. The music is nice, but it's a bit low on volume unfortunately.

School is Hell by Gizmo199 2024-04-20T09:14:22Z

Wow, what a great entry! Are you people working at a school by some chance? :D

The graphics are fantastic, the audio is really cool (those pesky imps are annoying to hear ^^), and the gameplay loop works like a charm. It was really tough trying to keep up with 3 classes! I managed to do 3 A+, with an A- on Tuesday and a B on Wednesday. My only complain would be that some imps are difficult to click as their hitbox is precise, so aiming a couple of pixels away from the neck for instance doesn't count.

Overall I had a great time, really really cool job and super polished!

Pulse of the Ethereal by DzejPi 2024-04-19T16:32:05Z

Very impressive for a 48h development time! My only complain (like others pointed out) would be the lack of a crosshair which would have helped tremendously as I couldn't shoot anything in my first play ^^ But I made it to the end (total score of 512630) on my second attempt, I think a few more sound effects would have been a nice bonus as well. But the graphics are very impressive, the controls works really well and yeah, 48h, this looks like a team Jam project.

Congrats! Are you planning on expanding it? :)

Tiny Summoner by Dovodx 2024-04-16T20:59:40Z

Great job! It works incredibly well, it's a simple but very effectif gameplay alongside a charming art style. I love the face of the monsters we summon! The fact they all behave differently brings a great deal of diversity to your game, and all of them are really good ideas.

Unfortunately, I am running on some pretty old hardware, so I had to switch to opengl3 and the game crashed during my two plays (one at level 25, the other at level 31 judging by what was written in the console). I wanted to keep playing :'(

In all seriousness, great game, congrats!

Tiny Summoner by Dovodx 2024-04-17T09:53:41Z

@dovodx Yeah, don't sweat it too much: my graphic card is probably almost 15 years old at this point so if I am the only one who encountered it I wouldn't put too much time in trying to investigate this point ;)

Summoned to Another World to Fight the Demon Lord! by Asieke 2024-04-19T10:54:58Z

Interesting battle! I found it a bit tough that the boss suddenly wiped out our entire team without warning, so my second attempt was me maxing out the Mage and blessing everyone a couple of time! Was worth it since I barely survived the last attack as the boss has less than half a healthbar left.

Overall, the graphics were really nice (if a little static), the audio was OK but looped weirdly. I like the idea, and since it was made in 48h it is rather impressive!

I think a good idea to improve your game would allow the player to see some more stats at all time on the screen, and not have to manually click/select buttons a few times in a menu to check our stats :) But that's if you want to continue working on it afterwards, for a Compo game this is really nice!

Ecaroh's Mecharoh by goodwincek 2024-04-17T20:01:05Z

Wow, this is really good for a 48h game! Well-polished and everything. It is a bit tricky to properly understand how everything works, I ended up spamming the helpers while running for my life and it paid off! The fact wheffle spotted the AI appearing on your path allowed me to exploit it to have multiple helpers on the side while I was going down, making for some easy kills :p

Is there a way to find how much health you have?

The graphics are really cool, the audio is top-notch but I found the electron mechanic to be a bit hard to use. In the end, I've let my helpers shoot out their electrons towards masses of enemies and it worked ^^ 215 helpers summoned, 106 dead :D

Overall, very impressive! I would try to make the electrons easier to use but that's pretty much it.

Chechik's Adventures by lima victor 2024-04-27T07:51:28Z

Hello! I tried your game but I am really struggling to pass both the lava pits and the high walls :( For the former, I use the bat but the summoning ends in the middle of the lava pit and I die, and for the latter no matter how late I use the Medusa, I always land on the wall and die...

Am I missing something? ^^ (To be transparent, I am using an old computer and am running the game with the "--rendering-driver opengl3" command line option, but I doubt a graphics driver would be the root cause...)

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH by jdah 2024-04-27T07:42:36Z

Wow, nice idea! I managed to save my boss from the court, but I don't really know if that was the right call given what we know about this person...

A very funny entry with funny dialog, the first minigame is so impossible but so appropriate! The bombing one had its instructions cut off for me as well so I just bombed the entire highway and my boss was happy so... Mission complete I guess :D And the final stage was stressful, I am not entirely sure I understood exactly how the cops were moving but I got out of there alive so... Good enough for me :p

Overall a very good game! It was fun, my only complains would be the hard to read font (especially on the in-between screens) and the audio is a bit dry but hey, it's a compo game. Congrats!

Resisting Summons by Noobman64 2024-04-18T21:09:48Z

Haha, good one with the "cult"!

I like the idea behind the game, but it feels probably a bit too short and as others pointed out, the mashing of the button/spacebar is too powerful! But overall, I think there is something to be made with the foundations of this game: maybe fleshing out the story a bit more with more minigames that requires different playing styles (thinking like Wario Ware or something)

That being said, the multitasking aspect is a fun one you can absolutely revisit later on. Congrats on making the deadline, keep up the work ;)

FoodieBuddie by Duhan 2024-04-17T20:13:25Z

Congrats on making it!

The graphics are really nice, it gave me that kind of old-school games for young kids vibe with those big eyes and boucing animation. It is a bit hard to fully grasps how to do anything though, as it is not obvious you have to drop the objects/buddies above the stations to make them work.

Once you get going, you quickly get overwhelmed with everything though ^^ I didn't really understand why I got bankrupt so quickly (I lost some money in -50 at some point?), but I firmly believe you have the foundations of a really nice and laid back game! Keep it up!

Dark Altar by Adrien Tremblay 2024-04-21T21:53:49Z

Fun idea, I initially thought it would play more like a Picross but there is more freedom here. I like your take on the theme, but I feel the randomized requirements to finish levels are a bit too random for their own good ^^ On my first playthrough, I never had to use the chalices (only ever had one on the final level anyway) and when replaying it and skipping all the way to the final level, Lucifer only asked for a grand total of 1 candle :D

This could overall be expanded in a nice standalone game, with handmade puzzles (and why not randomized ones as a bonus) and more demons and new objects. Fun game, congrats!

GOBLIN VS FROG by omphh 2024-04-16T20:40:32Z

Nice little collection of minigames! As pointed by Tommo120, the pentagram is brutal to dray :D It's a nice fun game reminiscent of Wario Ware, the idea is interesting and I managed to defeat the Goblin.

I am also using an AZERTY keyboard, so I was a bit confused when the game asked me to use WASD... but it was actually registering ZQSD (the AZERTY equivalent) ^^ Overall a nice game that could easily be scaled up if you feel like creating more minigames. Those you made are very solid!

IWANT by CO5MONAUT 2024-04-17T21:50:43Z

Well, this one's quite unique!

A fascinating experience, although the game screen can quickly get crowded especially if you're not lucky. It is a bit hard to do stuff, I managed to defeat several skeletons before I unfortunately ran out of place. But the idea is really intriguing. A sandbox for the litteral thoughts of our character...

Great idea, I enjoy the 1-bit aesthetics as well. Very interesting overall, with a bit more finetuning this could do very well!

Court Summons by dishwand 2024-04-19T16:51:48Z

Wow, very very good! And that's a Compo game ?!?

The game is very fun, very good idea of that court summoning. I almost failed Act IV but managed to survive with a dozen seconds left with some super quick and lucky final summonings :D The graphics are very good, the audio is fine too (if a little low on volume for the music) and it plays very very well. The dark city stages are super tough, sometimes you need to find the correct ear or eye shape and these little buggers simply would not turn to face the camera ^^

Very fun game, I had a very good time. Congrats!

Infernal Refreshments by MissingPixel 2024-04-17T19:32:16Z

Very clever! It is very hard, how many levels are there? I got stuck as soon as the machine was completely filled with cans xD

It is a truly effective game idea. My brain aches from trying to match the exact numbers ^^ The graphics are really good and clear, except the tutorial text which is a bit hard to read. The audio does the job nicely, and the game is very fun. I'm just not very good at it :D

Congrats!

Akino's Dungeon by Risminator 2024-04-19T11:09:06Z

Wow, this looks great, is addictive but is super super hard! :D I think what makes it hard is that the character controls a bit floaty and our summons are moving around us at the same time. I would definitely enjoy having multiple HP to try and go a bit further, I have reached the Dash only once and died like 5 seconds afterwards ^^

But the game is really cool otherwise. Looks great, the audio fits very well, the gameplay is a good idea as well. Congrats!

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

A Bug's Maze by Linky439 2024-10-10T13:59:42Z

@kuggenhoffen Thanks! The ant is amongt the fastests of the character, but I see your point, it could get a little faster. Thanks for the feedback!

@firuti Well, we're glad it had this effect on you! ^^

@eric-shaun Yeah, it seems there is an issue with the menu as you are supposed to be taken back to it after completing the maze (an end screen was planned but we were running out of time!) And yep, some obstacles are a bit mean :D And thanks for the little ant, I do like the hat as well!

@jhax Thanks! I had a great time making the pixel art, it has been some time since I made some portraits so it was good fun.

A Bug's Maze by Linky439 2024-10-14T17:33:13Z

@ditam Thanks for the feedback! The timer can be deactivated in the options menu :)

Space Ants X by AlexClay 2024-10-10T12:40:55Z

Nice little game! The gigantic flamethrower made it a bit hard to see where I was, but overall it was a nice time! The fact you didn't have to restart the whole day upon dying is nice, appreciated touch.

My only "complain" would be the sound effects, especially the ants dying as it felt more like picking up a coin or selecting a menu options that getting a kill ^^ Otherwise, congrats!

Tiny meat boys by Byzilio 2024-10-11T19:23:26Z

Great idea! The puzzles look simple but you need to use smartly all that's available and be careful not dropping anyone into a large pit. Really neatly done, congrats!

Love Dance by chispaLBC 2024-10-09T18:21:43Z

Really cool short game. It seems I got the moves...

The game is very simple but everything is polished just the right amount. The poses and the pixel art is really good, the music is super chill and the voices help a lot to get the moves right. Congrats!

Who's Behind the Fix? by 1337life 2024-10-10T11:40:32Z

Good idea to play a little gremlin that actually fixes your stuff! The graphics are really nice, I just wish there was some audio to go along it. The game is a bit short but what is there works, congrats!

Harvest Hijinks by Hunt 2024-10-09T18:36:10Z

Phew, it's hard! But I like the idea and the art is quite nice as well!

Is there a way to prevent the bloody beetle to take down my poor house though? :D I swear everything was going okayish and then... The blue beetle slowly crawled to my house... And it was over.

The concept is quite fun, there might be a bit too many plants to start with so the player can get easily lost. But it would make for a nice puzzle game if fleshed out a bit more, congrats!

Antonio by benjaminm 2024-10-11T19:27:38Z

Noooo, poor Antonio :'( These spiders are really scary, well done for the atmosphere that is really well done. I really felt hopeless in this place and getting cornered by spiders was a frightening experience!

Congrats!

Little Critter Pizza by Turquoise Moon 2024-10-10T12:09:13Z

Cute little game :) I feel the difficulty could ramp up a little for the normal mode, I always had 2 pizzas prepared for whoever came on the left, but I got overwhelmed in Crazy mode ^^ The idea is nice, like others said it could be a good base to expand it further down the road. Choosing the skin color is a nice touch!

Forest Fighter 3000 by Zype 2024-10-13T07:42:49Z

Congrats on making it to the deadline! Keep trying out stuff and you'll get more experienced and you'll be able to do things quicker and more optimized for sure.

As for this entry, I would recommend (on top of what other comments said) to write on this page and on the itch io one the controls and the goal of the game. I guessed it is to collect as much money as possible?

Anyway, keep it up, the road ahead of you is long but enjoy the ride!

Frame Wizards 2 by AlezJL 2024-10-10T19:03:01Z

Nice idea, I got to the egg but couldn't get the dragon. The core game is quite fun, but the room quickly get overloaded with creatures all around, making it hard to know what you tried and what you haven't ^^

Congrats on making the deadline though, it must have been tough to try to fit all this in it!

Larrys Ducked Up Adventures 2 by Fatz 2024-10-10T12:54:42Z

Nice short game, at first I thought it'd be a simple "get a few piece of bread" thing but then...

I'd say the first few seconds of the second phase are crucial, if you can survive here you should be fine (if you pick the right powerup at the end of course)!

Funny little game, congrats! The first phase can be a bit long though.

Antarchists by ratking119 2024-10-13T07:50:57Z

Nice idea, although I am unsure as to why we have so many attack options if we have no MP so we can just choose whatever skill strikes the hardest?

I died twice on my way to the top, but appreciated the little in-between scenes and the fact every play has a different layout. The graphics were nice as well. Keep it up!

Antarchists by ratking119 2024-10-13T07:56:11Z

OK nevermind, I just replayed through it and made it to the top ^^ I think different attacks tend to miss on certain enemies? Also, I didn't point out the lines some enemies say when they die, they add a nice little touch.

Maze Bat by oliver_day 2024-10-10T11:57:13Z

Quite a nice short game! The mazes seem to be very well generated, the graphics are an great take on ASCII art (and the bat is cute!).

I think I had an issue at one point where I started my third maze and despite a space being at the bottom, I couldn't proceed, but overall no big deal. Congrats on your first jam game!

Defend Squeeb by The Quinnzite Mushroom 2024-10-10T20:23:20Z

Nice concept! Poor Squeeb didn't survive long with me, I took it around 120 but as soon as you get overwhelmed it's all over ^^

The gameplay is nice, having multiple ways of attacking, the graphics are really simple but terrific! And the music fits nicely, with the additional Squeeb screams completing it perfectly.

A very good entry, congrats!

Zeus Needs You by Geoffroy 2024-10-10T12:27:07Z

Excellent! I would only make slight changes, like having Zeus immediately telling you the result without having to press Enter twice, and saying "Red people" when there's only pink used is tough! :p

Also, poor Jib... or is it?

Very impressive, the idea is great, of course the graphics are great and the little polish everywhere is awesome. Congrats!

Dubby: A dung beetle adventure game by basic_eagles 2024-10-11T19:35:43Z

Interesting mechanic! My main gripe with the game is how you can charge beyond the bar that is shown, I almost got stuck at the second platform as I couldn't jump on top of it before noticing you could charge longer than the bar. I would also increase the character's walking speed a little as you sometimes have to travel some longer straight platform.

Other than that, a nice effort for sure, congrats!

LD57 — Depths

Deep Point by Garywiss 2025-04-09T20:13:29Z

Very fun, with a wonderful 2000 vibe! It feels a bit like a prototype for some obscure Dreamcast title. I wish there were more "stages" but congrats on making the 48h deadline!

Slow Decline by Ntimi 2025-04-11T17:12:24Z

Nice art design! Unfortunately, the movement is a little unsatisfying, probably because we are moving inside big rooms that are often quite empty. I enjoyed the idea behind the game though, and I think with a little bit more time, the game could benefit from small additions (such as sound effects)!

Congrats on making the deadline with an ambitious project!

Escape Into the Darkness by Linky439 2025-04-10T21:03:32Z

@batisdark Sorry to hear that, yeah, we didn't take the delta time into account when it came to moving around :( I'll check to see if I can adapt it !

Back to the Boat! by jelch 2025-04-12T15:44:18Z

Fantastic entry. The graphics are really good and oppressing as you can't see very far in front of you, and the audio is insanely good.

I couldn't get to the boat, I crashed too much on the walls of that underwater cave trying to escape the creepy fish but that's life :D Congrats on making this, very impressive!

Dirty Little Secrets by winniehell 2025-04-11T17:38:12Z

Great entry! A very interesting way of interpreting the theme, I like it a lot. The art is really good, the idea of collecting stuff for a museum is great as well (and I like how you even implemented the little notes to explain what the object is!)

Two minor gripes: you can't see the price of the stuff at the store, and even with the special superpower, getting all the hidden artifacts is a bit tedious. I mean, I hear the dead moan but I run out of time to find them all! ^^

Congrats, I had a lot of fun with this one!

Kika's Eggsplosive Descent by kazuo256 2025-04-12T17:21:11Z

Fun game! At first I thought this was going to be easy and just held space, until I met my first bomb :D I reached 900 and something once, and then kept on dying around the 500 mark ^^

Very fun one, congrats!

Hell R Us by CaptainDreamcast 2025-04-12T15:50:26Z

Interesting and funny game! And with a DC port on top of it ??

Like others, I find the combat to be the weakest part, I don't think I was hit once by an enemy by just mashing the A key right next to them ^^ But the dialogs were fun, I wasn't prepared to hear them all voiced. And all that in 48h is quite impressive, congrats!

HexaDig by FancyReckless 2025-04-10T19:36:23Z

Nice idea! It took me a little time to truly understand how it all worked and what I needed to do, but this is a very interesting concept. I do find a little long to dig before actually starting to see the bricks we have to destroy, and wished there was some music, but otherwise it's pretty solid, congrats!

Nightmare Descent by DrSmey 2025-04-09T20:55:49Z

Great game! It was a bit obscure at first but once I got going, I almost went to the end... And got defeated while the final enemy only had a couple of HP left!

Great art, and a very interesting idea. Congrats!

Face Your Fears by CodeRaurus 2025-04-12T15:57:57Z

Interesting game! Like others, I had to read the comments here to understand what to do with the buckets and the rocks, but that was a fun time. I think it would make for an interesting game idea to expand in a bigger game!

But what's here is good, especially for 48h. Congrats!

Dark Ness by Soul Grinder 2025-04-10T20:27:08Z

Funny little game! I spotted Nessie twice in the first part, and when I spotted it at the end, it was already too late... Great atmosphere on that second "stage", it felt really uncomfortable to be on that boat!

You Are the End by AgrMayank 2025-04-12T17:54:16Z

Nice idea! I think the overall loop can be a bit long (as you have to go through the first waves over and over) but there's some interesting ideas there! I did 7 runs, completed the prophecy but I can still continue, is there more to discover after that?

As others pointed out, it's sometimes confusing to see our troops go through enemies or killing some from afar (and the same applies to enemies) but I understand the deadline issue ;)

Congrats on the fun game!

You Are the End by AgrMayank 2025-04-12T18:19:41Z

@agrmayank Here's my prophecy: When the light of dawn touches the broken crown and the promise of hope still lingers,

descend not as the reaper, but the sentence carved by your own hand.

For in the depths, you may find redemption - only and echo of the end you overcame.

A heads up: I played the HTML version, and although the game remembered which cards I picked (and how many runs), my population went down from 400 back to 150, so you might want to make sure the population number is saved somewhere ;)

Deep Mech Salvage by bearcage 2025-04-09T20:24:49Z

Wow, great art style and music! The feeling of being deep in the ocean is nicely done as well, as the oxygen drops pretty quickly. I had a bit of trouble aiming exactly where I wanted (especially on fishes) and I think I drove over every single landmine, they look very hard to spot. Overall a really nice entry, congrats!

A Call from the Void by Oinkle 2025-04-10T20:04:22Z

Wow, such a unique entry!

I got stuck on the third riddle, I guess it has something to do with the "Peek into the void" page, and maybe the last one? I couldn't figure it out! But great atmosphere. If you could add some hint, that would be lovely! :D

Webbed In The Depth by Livelypersimmon 2025-04-11T17:46:56Z

Fun idea! Unfortunately, as others pointed out, the collision boxes for both the spider and the spikes are too big which makes it too easy to die in place where you visually should be able to go through! Also I am not sure how you are supposed to make the first jump (on the first moving platform) if the infinite jumping mechanic isn't meant to be a thing ^^

I understand you lacked time to properly finish up some mechanics (such as the web), but congrats on making the deadline anyway!

LD58 — Collector

Save the ocean by Linky439 2025-10-07T16:09:02Z

@jepjoh2 Oops, I forgot to enable that on itch => fixed!

@matthieu-riboulot Thanks! Since it is made in java, making an easy executable version that is not a plain .jar was too time-consuming to consider there.

@artalasky Thanks!

Save the ocean by Linky439 2025-10-09T15:20:22Z

@breadstick Thanks! Yeah, the tunnels are intended as they lead to some trash pieces although we lacked some time to make them a bit easier to navigate and the shark's sprite was supposed to go behind it... For some reason during development it started to be displayed in front of it!

@oo-exxit-oo Thank you! :)

@raice Yeah, we like using arrows instead of WASD because they are the same for every type of keyboards! ^^

@fravinci They aren't missing, it is supposed to be some sort of secret pathway ^^ It leads to some trash :) Glad to know you liked our little shark!

@iriska Thanks for the feedback, and glad you liked the trashadex! It was a bit challenging to convey both real information and try to sneak a little joke in a limited space :)

@lukewaffel Thanks! To be fair, we initially had planned to only require a certain amount to move on to a different stage/boss fight, but we kinda ran out of time so we switch to this "find them all". As for the background issue, is it when you put the game in fullscreen?

Save the ocean by Linky439 2025-10-12T21:04:50Z

@gonulgaye Thanks!

@nef1k Thank you, we wanted to pay hommage to old games which liked to hide stuff like this! :)

@jully-greenleaf Thanks!

@naru I see what you mean! In a way it is reminiscent of them yeah, we did play some of these back in the day after all!

@derek-glennon Glad you enjoyed it!

@dining-philosopher Yeah there are black bars appearing whenever the size of the screen isn't a perfect multiplyer of 384x240, which seem to be a common issue with how tiled map are displayed with libgdx. We didn't have time to research and fix this in time unfortunately! Glad that you enjoyed it!

@good-enough Oh this is lovely to hear, thank you!

Goblins n' Ghosts (MAKAIMORA) by Cardboard Box 2025-10-09T10:13:27Z

Great retro-styled entry! The beginning is a bit brutal as it is easy to get overwhelmed by enemies, but then once you reach the first boss I felt it was just the right amount of difficulty. It is pretty similar to Ghosts N' Goblins so can't really go wrong, the pixel art is great, it controls with no issue : overall a very solid entry, congrats!

Any plans of expanding it further down the line? :)

QIZI: Flag Collector by YurisCat 2025-10-11T14:22:15Z

Great entry! I wasn't entirely sure what I was doing at first, so I placed my pieces a bit at random... Turned out to be a wining strategy as I kept the same pattern to reach the end! ^^ The one thing I am not sure is if our pieces always attack first or if the "speed" statistic of the enemies matter.

Nonetheless, a great entry, I had a lot of fun with it, congrats!

le Collectionneur Britannique atteint de Syphilis by mackain 2025-10-11T13:47:20Z

Very original idea and execution! I liked all the different ideas in there, the tax collecting just to buy more antique stuff and... eating momies??? I just wished there was a way to see what we already bought, and what's left to buy. When playing I quickly ended up in a routine of bidding in Paris, collecting taxes to get a bit of money back, then go to Giza to heal my syphilis and back to Paris, without really knowing if there's an end in sight or anything.

But it's a fun crazy jam game so I'm nitpicking, congrats!

Treasure Collector by Lucy Lu 2025-10-24T11:11:22Z

Fun little game! It unfortunately gets a bit repetitive as runs go by, especially the audio since the music is a 5 second theme looping over and over. I think just changing the color palette of the enemies from one "stage" to another would have conveyed they are getting stronger and stronger, because I was surprised initially when I attacked an enemy in the second level and it did not die in one hit ^^

Graphics are good as well. I think the core is a good start for a larger game if you feel like expanding it further after the jam!

DEEP FROST by Kalbshack 2025-10-11T15:29:30Z

Great game! I lost myself in the wilderness a few times, managed to get back home sometimes, and froze some other times ^^ I manage to collect 6 artifact, not too bad. Deep Frost is quite impressive for a jam game, congratulations! The art is great (lovely freezing effect) and the game just works very well.

A Lifelong Hobby by Derek Glennon 2025-10-07T20:07:23Z

Good game! It does convey how our relationship with money and our hobbies do change through life, and also how work changes. Nothing very satisfying meeting expectation in your office pressing the right key, but it makes more money than 10 days of mowing the lawn!

Nice to see how the cards have different prices, with some being very cheap and other absurdly expensive! I did feel like the music got a bit repetitive, but it might just serve the game's theme even more. Overall a very nice entry, congrats!

The Internet Collector by YibiRabbit007 2025-10-14T21:26:53Z

Very nice entry! It was a bit hard to get into it at first, despite the guide because I couldn't figure out exactly how the drag & drop worked. Once I got going, it was way smoother and I liked all the funny information hidden in the files and logs. The end feels a little too guided but otherwise, a very cool game with a lot of nice ideas and a lot of information on security threats. Congrats!

SAVE MY KNEES! by Keys Presser 2025-10-11T14:02:41Z

Insane art! The animation are really incredible, especially the bird rolled by the wave and then being all wet. As for the game itself, it is quite fun but it soon became a bit too repetitive to farm some pearls, especially since the only changing thing is the amount of stuff you need to collect to complete the quests.

But overall it is quite impressive, and once again incredible visuals. Congrats!

Banana Craze by InfernalWolf08 2025-10-14T20:44:18Z

Nice short game. Like others pointed out, I wish it was clearer to see the range of our attack, especially as it seems not to be working vertically? I managed to clear the maze in my second try without upgrades, but I guess you ran out of time to make either more mazes or make it bigger.

Congrats on making the deadline, and keep it up!

Gibberwave by yiwai 2025-10-14T20:59:36Z

Very nice idea! The graphics are also really nice. Unfortunately, I had a lot of trouble finding the right choices to pick, but I wonder how much of it is due to the translation. It also felt quite long to complete areas, I believe shortening the amount of purification to complete an area would improve this version.

But overall, there's a very strong idea and foundation here, congrats!

Patent Troll by arkicade 2025-10-09T10:22:29Z

Very creative take on the theme! I was a bit confused on my first painting as I tried to select some very close pixels, and then realized something similar was enough to crush the artist's case. Ended up with 5 painting, not much but Mr. Patent Troll is probably happy because he now has more in his collection!

Lovely art and funny dialog, it is a very surprising and very good game. Congrats!

BulkUp by naru 2025-10-09T15:00:30Z

Very funny one. I like the art style, the crazy cutscenes, the bloody "Skip" button and the general "stupid" vibe of this game. Very fun, done very well, congrats!

Toy not trash! by Awanami 2025-10-07T20:23:54Z

Great art! Unfortunately I wish there was more to the game, as you just need to click on non-red bags to finish it without being able to see the figures, or to have multiple stages, etc.

But that's a good start nonetheless! The idea is good, keep it up!

I am so SLAY by quensol 2025-10-09T17:38:44Z

Nice idea! At first I didn't understand how to escape the teacher surveillance, but once I got it it was fine. It was a bit tedious to get some people as they would walk over each other (or my group of followers) which broke the charming sequence, but overall it is a nice and original idea. Congrats!

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Space Bobble by japes 2018-04-26T21:07:06Z

Nice idea! I think your game would benefit from a few background elements (and more audio), but overall, it is a strong and fun entry with a good mashup of genres!

Congrats!

TASCAR by phaze0 2018-04-27T13:17:04Z

Nice game, and yeah, text-based racing, it DOES sound familiar ^^

This is more akin to what I was aiming for at the begining of the Compo as well, but I lost too much time during day 1 and decided to turn my game into what it became. So congrats for making it! The humour is nice and the game is fun (even if it gets a bit boring to restart everything everytime you make the slightest mistake :p)

It is a bit hard to understand when to turn/to go straight at first too. But overall, very nice game! Congrats!

Type Fighter: Turbo by megamasterx 2018-04-26T19:53:39Z

Great idea! Sounds strange but it works :)

Minor complains: it is sometimes hard to keep track of where we are while typing (especially when you're just 1 character ahead or late) and it truly seems like my opponent hit me way more time than I actually hit him, even during long combos

But overall, a strong entry, and the graphics are great. Congrats!

Empty Space by bentglasstube 2018-04-24T16:56:34Z

I like the idea of your game, mixing Shoot'em ups and Puzzle solving.

But there aren't easy puzzle to solve while playing x) By the way, that ship's sprite is almost a pixel perfect copy of Galaga's ship :/

But yeah, overall, I feel it's a bit too difficult to focuse on those two genres. Which fits the theme for sure, but in the end harms your game I believe. Congrats on making the deadline though! :)

Jeff From Accounting by Almax 2018-04-25T13:38:24Z

Wonderful! It was a bit hard to type correctly since I'm on an Azerty keyboard (even after switching to Qwerty, I'm not used to have the "M" letter next to the "N"! ^^) but great, great idea and wonderful game overall. Graphics are top notch and the sound is great as well.

Congrats!

RTHM by fashionbatman 2018-04-25T12:38:58Z

Fun game! My only complain would be that I never knew what I was supposed to send to my date, but hey, still got a date everytime! ^^

By the way, you can completely cheat at this game by pressing Space all the time (all the hearts are played) and do the same for direction way before you are supposed to hit the square ;)

Overall, nice game! Fun, simple but effective, and the music is nice. Congrats!

Learn Math With Flappy Bee by nusan 2018-04-25T14:43:47Z

Haha, great idea! A great way to get people to do maths, but it might be hard for those unfamiliar with those good old cos and sin functions ^^

Pretty solid game overall. The graphics are nice and cute, the music is good, and you make your brain work. Congrats!

Type it like Schumacher! by Linky439 2018-04-24T17:05:28Z

Thanks to all of you!

@vasco-freitas Yes, I've seen that delay and I agree it does prevent fast typing. I didn't have time to fix that issue however :(

Match Racer by tomdeal 2018-04-26T20:15:40Z

I love your game! It reminded me a bit of an old board game "Formula D" ^^

The gameplay is top notch, it looks fantastic, love the audio as well... Wonderful for me. If you plan on keeping on working on it, yeah, a multiplayer would be awesome (and other tracks of course ^^)

Congrats! :)

KartVania by tifu 2018-04-29T15:34:50Z

Nice idea! Like others, I think the kart is overall too slow, but I liked the mix of genres (maybe with a map next time ? ^^)

It did remind me of Diddy Kong Racing too. I think some audio would also be cool, but overall, I think you've made a rather strong entry. Congrats!

Hungry Rabbits by okacat 2018-04-25T12:53:42Z

Nice and fun little game you made here ^^

Being no farmer, I have to say I don't know what the spade does... Is it to prepare the ground before planting the seeds? Overall, it looks great, it is fun and simple and works great. It might lack a little bit of music (just a smooth and relaxing track) but overall, it's good. Congrats!

Quiz Shooter by drmargarido 2018-04-29T15:12:00Z

Love the idea! The trivia is mostly simple, but shooting the right answer can be tricky at times ^^

Yeah, a few more sound effects would have been a tad better, but the game is perfectly fine as it is now. Congrats!

SocceRPG by Lazzor 2018-04-24T16:05:23Z

Well, I wanted to try it out but here's what Google has to say about it: "We're sorry. You can't access this item because it is in violation of our Terms of Service." :/

SHMUP: The NEW RPG by Sniperninja564 2018-04-24T16:48:04Z

Sorry, I didn't truly enjoyed your game... :/ I just feel like this is a regular Shmup. Basically, the only "RPG" element is leveling up, but that's very similar to what Shoot'em ups have done for a long time as leveling up only heals you and makes you fire faster (basically, it's like picking up an upgrade in a regular shmup)

Too bad there's no music as well. Overall, your game isn't bad, but I just think it doesn't fit the theme. Congrats on making the deadline anyway and keep on making games! :)

Minigame Monsters by xmatos 2018-05-12T12:35:20Z

Nice game!

I really like the audio (even if the end has too much distortion for my liking ^^), and the mix of genres works well. The gameplay is nice and intuitive, so good job on that too.

Congrats!

Dungeon Drifter by TwinGhosts 2018-04-26T20:03:06Z

Pretty fun game! It is a bit hard to get acustomed to the controls though, as you don't often steer in a shoot 'em up ^^

Overall, it is nice. I think a bit more RPG stuff would have been better though. I like the graphics (simple, but effective) and the audio is fine as well. So yeah, solid entry, congrats! :)

Punch Rock Scissors by ryzy27 2018-04-24T16:24:59Z

Simple but effective idea! It is quite easy at the begining (once you've memorized what each key does) but it gets hard pretty quickly afterwards.

I also like the simple graphics. A solid and fun game overall, congrats!

Racingsaurus Text by Don Fouts 2018-04-24T16:00:05Z

Well, we all knew you shouldn't text and drive: and now we can all experience why x)

Funny idea. I believe a longer time to answer would have been better, as you only have a couple of seconds to look at the phone, read the text, and pick your line. But overall, funny entry you have here ^^

Congrats!

It's Always Your Turn by Yorsh 2018-04-24T16:12:26Z

Nice idea! I think that if you had a bit more time, it could have been something quite good ^^ But what you've made is already nice. Too bad there's no sound or music though, it could have add a lot to this game.

Overall, strong idea, congrats!

Guitar Fighter by johnnyjw 2018-04-25T13:44:38Z

Interesting idea, but as other said, pretty hard to focus on both gameplay ^^ I ended up more running from the zombies than shooting them to be honest x)

Overall, a strong entry, and I like the idea. Congrats!

Sandbox Solitaire by Marchmain 2018-04-26T20:59:30Z

Haha, it is so hard no to wreck your cards! ^^

Fun idea! Very simple but it works. I wished you could play with the teacup as well :p Congrats overall, very fun game to play! :)

StrateJump by bluewingtitan 2018-04-24T15:43:55Z

Nice game!

The text is funny, the controls are good, the idea is cool as well. I believe it could very well translates into a full game (maybe with a larger view of the level and new level-design ideas). Overall, a solid effort! Congrats :)

Running Infinitely by CaldwellYSR 2018-04-27T13:23:35Z

Simple but effective game. Not sure it fits too much the theme as it isn't really different from an usual third person runner, but it is well made. I do agree it lacks a bit of audio though, but I think you have strong basics for a bigger and more polished game!

Congrats!

Rhybot, Escape! by taviandir 2018-04-25T13:12:25Z

I like the idea, but, like other, I feel like it is way too slow for its own good.

And yeah, the lack of music harms your game overall, unfortunately. That being said, the idea is cool and you managed to make a game of it that fits well the theme. Congrats and keep up the good work! :)

Conveyor Belt Hero by MugenMagnus 2018-04-25T13:21:16Z

Great idea! I think that with a bit more polish, no doubt it could be a standalone game :)

Too bad there's no sound though! But overall, it looks good, the idea is nice and fun. Congrats!

Shoot the Notes by minirop 2018-04-24T18:01:59Z

Less than 6 hours? Damn, that's short ^^ Try to figure out your schedule for the next jam so that you'll have enough time to make your game :)

Unfortunately, it harmed your game has I didn't really see the "rythm" part of the game. The notes didn't seem to be synchronised with the music... But the idea is cool. Maybe work on it now that the LD is over? Anyway, keep on working hard! :)

Math Blast! by Joe Zabriskie 2018-04-24T17:04:26Z

Nice idea! It is a bit hard to correctly aim with such a small and slow bullet though :(

But the idea works fine. The game lacks a bit of music though, but overall, a nice and solid effort. Congrats!

AeroWrit - Text/Flight Sim by AzimuthGames 2018-04-24T16:38:12Z

Sweet Jesus, it was hard but really fun to play ^^

It looks fantastic as well, and I really like the audio. The only thing is that I was flying right next to a blue ring without collecting it, and then ran out of fuel. What a sad ending :(

Great job. It's a really nice entry and it looks amazing for a 48hrs submission. Congrats!

Balls of Felt by exoticorn 2018-04-24T16:03:20Z

Hey :) Don't know if that's because I'm still using an old-ass Vista as my OS, but when I launch the game, it seems like the executable looks for TryAcquireSRWLockShared in KERNEL32.dll but can't find it.

Baka-Pipes by overpoweredteam 2018-05-12T12:42:08Z

I like your game even if it doesn't love me back :p As others pointed out, it gets real hard real fast.

Overall, nice graphics, with a good idea. I did have some trouble correctly placing the pieces, but overall your game is nice and fun. Congrats!

Fast & Food by lwt1231234 2018-04-25T15:04:28Z

I like the idea, but it is a bit hard to control your plate sometimes ^^

The games looks nice, the music is good and the concept is fun. Good job!

Kaiju City Rehab - Rampage City Builder by Bad Idea 2018-04-26T20:31:17Z

Yeah, super fun game! :D

OK, I gotta admit, I couldn't resiste the urge of rampaging the city for long. But I like the idea, and it is well made in the game. It looks great as well!

Congrats, the game is really great!

Monstrously Hunky by CraigFortune 2018-04-29T15:06:27Z

Nice idea! I liked the humour in this one.

One minor complain I would have is that the questions and the answers are often the same. It would have been cool to have more questions and variable answers to them :)

Otherwise, really cool game. Congrats!

Sam by ian1337 2018-05-12T12:48:00Z

Congrats on making the deadline!

There are some issues with your game though. First, you often die at the very begining of a level, which is kinda frustrating (and not the good kind of frustration), and two, you can't move, jump and shoot at the same time easily. You should have mapped the movement keys to WASD/ZQSD because when my hand is on the arrow keys, I can't reach Space to jump ;)

Overall, it is a nice game, even if I think it didn't really well fit the theme. Anyway, keep up the good work, and congrats again! :)
