Crazy Cat Lady by Jacksendary 2017-12-08T10:44:45Z
Looks good, but I couldn't figure out what to do. I filled the bowls with food an water, placed them around the house and then a cat died... :(

It's a very cool game, I love these kinds of mechanics. There are two problems, the packages are to bouncy so most of them just jump out of the truck bed immediately. Secondly the next box starts falling before I got a chance to stabilize the first one so I have to keep moving. Good job! :)
Boli me mozak :D
Very interesting concept. At first I thought what does this have to do with the theme, and then it hit me. The more LSD you have, the worse it gets :D
The flight path makes it really hard to figure out which shuttle can be shot and which is arriving/leaving. Also, sometimes the gun would not fire. I'm guessing it overheated, but it's really hard to see heat gauge.
It was fun once I got the hang of it. Good job!
Looks cool, but I ran into some issues right at the start: - Starting level 2 often results in an immediate game over. - Starting level 3 just hangs my browser tab.
I like the look of the game, but I had problems starting to play since I couldn't figure out the controls.
Overall it's hard to judge if it's possible to win with humans when playing both side by yourself(a basic AI would be super cool), but it seems that it is very unlikely.
Good job!
Good job with the opening scene! Unfortunately the game is cropped on itch.io so I was not completely sure what is going on and died a few times before giving up.
Unfortunately I couldn't play it with a controller so it was harder. For some reason I couldn't activate the right bucket, tried both right ctrl and num 0. Otherwise great work! I really like the menu and tutorial artwork :)
It took me a few tries to figure out the objective, I would take a step and die. The buildings were invisible at the start and would pop in randomly, I don't know if this is a bug or a visual cue. The exploratory concept is interesting, and I like the design. In some sense it reminds me of Mirrors Edge.
I liked it very much, it feels like a remake of the old Windows skiing game. The only thing missing is the abominable snowman ;)
The controls are too tight in my opinion since I ran into a few situations where I started turning as soon as I saw an obstacle but couldn't avoid it.
Good job!
Looks good, didn't have any problems with the controls :)
The game would really benefit from an easy mode with two or three elements. If you wanted to keep the aiming mechanism I would add a line (laser pointer) so it is easier to see where you are aiming.
It was worth turning on the sound as I had a chuckle. Good job :D The controls are intuitive, although it's a bit easier than my cat herding game ;)
@fussenkuh thanks. I'm a full time developer, and make games as a hobby, so this was mostly a matter of scope :)
The mood was supposed to be a bit lighter. I planned to add a lighthearted chase song (a'la Benny Hill) but I ran out of time and I suck at making music ;)
@noa-calice thanks :) It works on the arrow keys as well. I also wanted to add joypad support but I ran out of time :(
@zax thanks. Will do ;)
@shelvid Yes you are :D
@raziyya thanks :) As I said in another comment, I wanted to add some lighthearted music to pickup the mood but ran out of time :(
@dario-zubovic kad je prosao LD cu da se naspavam ;)
@jimbly thanks for the feedback :) You probably missed the tutorial at the start that said "get the cat in the dumpster" ;)
I experienced the problem with the space key sporadically. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to investigate.
@pcmaster thanks :) The animations were made in a hurry simply by rotation and translation but they turned out good.
@ballin thanks, I constantly readjusted the time limit. Luckily I had a few beers and tried playing the game, then I realized that it's too hard and raised the time limit by about 50%. Maybe I should have had one more ;)
@phaix hmm, on a mac cmd+D adds a shortcut so there should be no conflict, but I haven't checked on other platforms. Arrows were listed in the controls but the web version font doesn't display them. As per your suggestion, I have updated the description to show the goal and controls. Thank! :)
@carlosvvk thanks!
@neowhoru thanks for the kind words :) The tutorial was easy to overlook.
@linky439 thanks, I didn't manage to add music which is why the atmosphere feels off to many people. Maybe next time ;)
@prodigalson Thanks :) There are plenty of dogos available for hire in your local alley or pound ;)
Looks very interesting! Unfortunately I'm on a mac so I can't try it out :(
Very cool! It took me a few minutes to grasp how to play, but then it's awesome :D
The cobra model is really cool. Unfortunately it's hard to see which window will break soon, it wasn't much fun for me to constantly rotate :( Good job and congrats on finishing!
Interesting concept  I would have liked to at least have a hint in which direction the exit is. The cops also seem to have a pretty large detection radius, 5 cars started chasing me immediately even though they were out of screen. As others have mentioned when multiple sirens are sounding they can hurt your ears :D Good job, it's a solid entry :trophy:
I think you nailed the theme, although I couldn't stand to do any more shoryukens after the third level  Good job
Great idea, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Although I was a bit confused what happens with the hearts at the top at the start. I also used a dating sim as one of my genres so I like seeing what others have combined it with.
I really liked the concept  The biggest issue for me is the UI, since it's a fast paced game there is really no time to read tiny numbers, I would have appreciated if resources were visually represented (a progress bar maybe?), so I could know at a glance what is going on. As others have mentioned it's not clear what each tower does, and most players skip reading the description text, so a short in game tutorial would be great. Overall a very good entry :trophy:
An interesting text adventure. It held my attention, but should have skipped the groping part.
I really like the mood  The game could have been 30-50% faster without a problem, like this just walking felt like a drag. Good job :trophy:
First off, gorgeous graphics :sparkles: The main problem for me was the the right mouse button opens the context menu unless I tap it really quickly, which was pretty annoying. Second, the learning curve was pretty steep for a game jam game. Third, I almost always missed the conversation in the bottom righ, it is too out of the way, especially since you are already handling two screens and multiple tasks. I'm not sure if I missed a quest or a mission because of this. Overall this is a very impressive entry  Keep up the good work :trophy:
Wow, really well done. Top marks from me :v: The only suggestion I have is that the money counter is not that easy to figure out at first. Also, my first try I had negative income almost immediately and not enough money to build anything, so I just sat there waiting for something to happen. With a bit more depth and work I could see this being a sellable game :trophy:
A very good entry, it's very fun to play! :trophy: The only down side for me is that it in my mind it misses the theme a bit, you are buying powers ups the same way you would in other games of this type, only they are represented as cards. I would have liked to see a bit more interplay between the card elements and the shooting. Otherwise you did a great job, you should be very proud
It's nice to see a different take on a similar idea, good job! The sound scared the heck out of me though, I had my volume way up :D
@SecondDimension thanks for the kind words :) Regarding the combat, the computer follows a few basic patterns like kick, kick + punch, so it can be predicted and blocked, but I don't expect anyone to really put in so much time to figure it out ;)
@Olivier Millochau thanks for the feedback :)
@TwinGhosts thanks  I admit, both mechanisms (fighting and dating) could use a bit more work, but I was running on fumes by the end
@designernap thanks for the kind words  :v:
@Julink thanks for the feedback
@local-minimum thanks for the feedback. In retrospect I should have added some indication of how well you are doing during the "dating" phase, also having different reactions to the same question doesn't make it easier.
Regarding the end transition, I originally planed to have the defeated character say some phrases but I ran out of time. In the end I'm pretty happy with the transition as it is. The abruptness and the contrast to me is a reflection on how little the fight actually meant, it's a commentary on modern dating, swipe, f*** and move on. As a corollary, I wanted to anonymize the other fighter. Originally I wanted to have different meaningless names such as "the other guy", "that dude" etc, but ran out of time.
I'm getting too philosophical for my liking  Thanks for the thoughtful feedback :v:
@vasco-freitas thanks, I agree, some hint that a combo is starting would allow players to react :)
@veztron I'm glad you had a laugh, I was writing the dialogue at 3 in the morning  Regarding the music, I attempted to make the dating part relaxed and the fighting tense. Unfortunately, music is not one of my strong suits, I will have to work on that for future jams. Thanks for the feedback
@diffty thanks for the feedback  others have said the same thing before and I totally agree
@simianlogic I would have liked to expand a bit more on the chat system but I was already in a crunch. The cooldown bar represents stamina, it's my way of preventing players from just spamming a button and winning, but obviously there are some combos that are more effective than others  I would have liked to have different strategies for different opponents, but I ran out of time :( Thanks for the feedback
@nervous-composers @Sfey thanks for the kind words :beers:
Very cool concept :) The biggest problem for me was the steep learning curve, some in game hints would be appreciated. I thought I was stuck until I figured out that every swap doesn't have to be a combo. I really like the graphics, reminds me of my grandmas cross stitching
Really interesting concept  The music really made it for me, but the fanfare sound broke the mood for me :( Overall a great entry :trophy:
I love the idea
As others have said, there is an issue with scaling, the menu is not visible if the game is not full screen. While I applaud the innovative menu, it took me a few minutes to figure out how to navigate, it would be much more intuitive if the whole card was used for aiming. The gameplay was pretty good, I had no issues avoiding obstacles, but I was expecting to get more cards once I ran out, instead I just crashed
Good job :trophy:
To run the game on a mac you need to run "java -jar Dream\ World.jar " in the terminal in the folder where you extracted it. Had some issues with the controls at the start of the game, started working correctly after I fell a few times. You got the mood in the game right :)
Interesting concept. The hit boxes are too small, so I couldn't do anything unless I was directly centered on an object. After receiving a positive reaction to my silly love song nothing happened, no objects started to sparkle again, so I went into the closet to take a nap and I got a bad ending, so it's not super clear what the player is supposed to do. Overall, a great first entry, keep it up :trophy:
Unfortunately can't test it since I'm on a mac, but I'm glad to see a different take on the same mix of genres I did
@Julink the mac build work, thanks!
I really liked the character and ship design  the background not so much  The start is a bit confusing since the player is holding a gun but can't shoot, it took me a while to figure out what is going on. There could have been more interaction between the themes, for example you control when the ships fire. Anyway, great first entry :trophy:
I'm somewhat frustrated when there is no web version to test out a game, I really don't like downloading random stuff, but after waiting for 10 minutes for this to start I now know why people decide against the web version :D
The game looks very nice, I especially like the design of the kaiju. The main problem for me was the debris that destroys surrounding buildings, and buildings getting knocked down without me touching them. Great job :v:
Top marks for the mood :trophy: I also really liked the art style, reminds me of scribblenauts, could use a bit of polish tough. Although I like the concept, I don't feel the themes were really incompatible. Since I was playing solo I couldn't get past the umbrellas, so I couldn't see the whole game :( Great job
