What a great idea and well executed. Lost track of time there for awhile, was in the pinball zone :)

What a great idea and well executed. Lost track of time there for awhile, was in the pinball zone :)
I really like this idea, but I can't get in to it because I'm too stupid to understand what each tower is. Very well done except for that one gripe, which makes me sad because I, too, want to be in the pinball zone.
@djfariel same
Game captured me too - great idea, well executed, makes you want to play it more and more.
Really fun game! I wish the physics was a little better but overall I got hooked once I knew which "towers" did what. I would look forward to playing a fully-fledged version of this game with better physics! Rate my game if you get a chance https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/left-for-bread
I love this idea. It's got just enough complexity that it keeps me coming back for more. Great stuff.
I agree with @djfariel that it's a little tricky to tell what each tower is - once they're built it's pretty apparent, but the game gets hectic enough that it's a bit challenging to find the time to learn.
I probably played this wayyyy longer than I should. I found that holding the balls and building up my base was a good strat. It took me a bit to figure out what the actual buildings did. Maybe a visual guide to show what the turrets and resource generators do. You could really expand this and make different levels. Loved playing it.
Interesting idea! First pinball game I've played where you have to destroy the balls haha had a blast playing!
Very fun game, this game deserves more ratings. It was a lot of fun trying to multitask and build up towers. As others have said I didn't really know the difference between the towers and just built whichever I could afford
The pinball game mechanic worked well for the most part but sometimes when launching a ball it would bounce back and with a super high velocity and right into the void which felt a bit unfair but at the same time could be avoided with better timing I guess.
Overall a really good entry. Glad I got around to playing this game.
Impressive work! Nice visuals and sounds, concept is tricky, but i think that your implementation of it is pretty cool. Flippers are somewhat slower than i wanted them to be, but it is maybe more a balance thing than flaw of mechanics. It would be useful to turn off bulding menu when you click on empty space. Overall - the game is fun and very enjoyable, great entry!
Really cool concept, well executed. Would be good to have some kind of icon or word description of each tower - that was very confusing. Very well done, though - I had a good time experimenting with the construction and layouts and also playing pinball.
I really like the idea of starting out with a rather bland pinball machine and building and upgrading it. Combining that with tower defense is a really nice idea, especially because you do need the balls/foes to collect the resources. The graphics were really good, sounds were there. What really would have helped to make the game more fun would have been some sort of tooltip for the towers and better physics especially in regards of the interaction between the flippers and the balls.
Great idea, took me a while to realise I wasn't just playing pinball. Really enjoyed the sound too!
I really liked the concept  The biggest issue for me is the UI, since it's a fast paced game there is really no time to read tiny numbers, I would have appreciated if resources were visually represented (a progress bar maybe?), so I could know at a glance what is going on. As others have mentioned it's not clear what each tower does, and most players skip reading the description text, so a short in game tutorial would be great. Overall a very good entry :trophy:
Happy to put you over the 20 review mark! I enjoyed the game, I've been brewing an idea like this as well! I'll echo what others said in that I wasn't sure what the towers would do. I'd appreciate even a reference just in the description since the game is pretty fast paced and even after buying a few different towers it was a bit unclear.
Say wooooooooot? Pinball AND tower defense? That iz craycray! I love it! Quite fast paced, especially before you get some kind of hang of it. I kind of liked that bit though, but some more visual help would add a lot more game play I think. Well done!
This game fits the theme very well. It is really fun to play. The graphics and audio works well too. I think that would be good have some time to build between waves, because is a little too hard to build while playing the pinball part and I think that have some time to rest would improve the pacing. I also think that it is hard to tell what each tower do. But still, good game! =)
Great mash-up of pinball and tower defense. Game is a bit basic, but with more time I'm sure you can add a lot of depth to it, and what's here is good already. Only problem I had was that there's no "between rounds" to spend money to build up the table -- you have to do that while the action's going on, which isn't very easy to do. The only other problem I had was that the game would suddenly lag once in a while. Otherwise this is a very solid entry.
Outstanding idea! When I heard pinball and tower defense I thought we would be using the balls to attack stuff, but having a base HP you are trying to keep up with multiple incoming balls seems like an even better spin as it keeps that urgency. There's a lot of mechanics going on here that I like. I do wish there was a bit more feedback- if there was some way to know how damaged the enemy pinballs were for example (I'd probably just make them crack myself, until the explode). What would have been fun would be special "boss" type pinballs too. Also a way to restore health to your base would have been nice too, or maybe a way to power up "protector" shields or something that protected your weak spots.
That was actually remarkably fun! There is a lot of strategy here for tower placement and I would love to see this kind of concept expanded a bit more. It took some time to figure out the functionality of each tower, especially the large green tower which I couldn't figure out for a long time. There are some annoyances and exploits such as "catching" the ball in the left or right flipper and waiting for minerals to accumulate, but overall I had a lot of fun. Please include a legend of which color = which function in your description, it would help a lot! Would also have been nice if there was a way to replace existing towers with other types!
I had to try quite a few times before I had a good layout, but then I had my 10 turrets all shooting at incoming balls with passive slowing + damage spots and it was really awesome. My best score was about 145,000 before dying.
You've got a genius combination here! I really enjoyed this game, so just a few suggestions that I'd like to add: being able to cancel out of a menu easily is important given how hectic the game gets, so clicking outside of the build menu cancelling it would be useful. Also, the gap between the flippers and the gutters with no way of saving the ball are all from the era of coin-op, so you might want to consider how you use them given the game doesn't need to drain players of their money.
I should also mention that the music for this game was excellent too! Great work all round!
Reminds me off the old pinball game that was a standard game on windows long ago! Neat concept, and well executed! With some more work I could see this game really shine. I dont have much to add which haven't been said, but the flippers moves a bit slow and not quite parralel with it's slope thing!
Amazing! I totally loved this game. Everything was done exceptionally good and the idea itself is very innovative.
There was a bug where one of the balls got stuck below the lower left tower and wouldn't move so I have to restart.
@brendo I followed you. If you decided to keep working on this game let me know. Great job :)
good idea, I had fun!
Hmm, it is cool! You guys do have interesting ideas!
I am not good at tower defend. This game is too difficult for me. I don't know whether you will expand the "map" or something, cause once the player place a tower at a wrong place, it seems to have no way to remove or replace it. Some tower maybe good at beginning stages while players would like to replace them with advanced assistant towers. And while clicking to shoot, I occasionally clicked on towers, and of course, the menu popped out. It is disturbing, when the game itself has been so difficult.
