LD38 — A Small World

(Un)Happy by pcmaster 2017-05-04T16:29:11Z

Fun game! Liked the whole theme and the nice handling of the ship/planets. It felt like a game for children to learn colors or something. :-) As already stated a couple of more things would make it a better challenge. Well done!

Infectoids by sanojian 2017-05-04T18:06:57Z

Heey, I really like what you have done here! The visuals and the game play feels like an old retro game! Very nice! And I like you used Phaser, just like we did! :-O Only missed a nice tune!

Shapeshifter: The King of A Small World by Rixud 2017-05-04T16:59:15Z

Fun puzzle/platformer! Some music would add a nice ambiance feel to the game it think! And as other have said, the jumping is not too intuitive/doesn't always work as you would think. Well done!

Deity in Training by pmcoltrane 2017-05-03T20:17:44Z

Cute game! But I never really understood the game-play? Eventually I even tried to blow the planet up by catching the comets and being near the sun. But nothing happened. I liked the music, it fitted with the whole theme/feel you had going on! Well done!

Glass Houses by diptoman 2017-05-04T17:13:07Z

Well made! Nice atmosphere and gfx. Quite the undertaking to make a game like this in a game jam! Although it felt more like a story than a game.

Space gardener by Azumi Tei 2017-05-03T20:18:53Z

Yepp, still not working URL.

Grillmeister by tomdeal 2017-05-02T20:09:29Z

Well done, I enjoyed it! Fun game even though it took a while to understand/get the hang of it.

Space Cowboy's Last Stand by jasperarmstrong 2017-05-04T17:16:29Z

Oh crap, I sucked at this game! Kept killing myself! :-) Some polish and music and it would be really fun(nier)! Well done!

Wee Planet by radmccool 2017-05-04T17:05:11Z

Cool game! Like Missile Command, only with better gfx. :) Really liked it, but missed a wee bit of music. :) Also as stated before, the UFO:s were hard to see. Well done!

The Core by ectucker1 2017-05-04T16:52:11Z

Well made game! 25 levels also?? Impressive! You must have worked like crazy. A bit of tightening up in the levels and some better controls (the mouspointer isn't visible all the time? Chrome) and it would be a solid puzzle game!

Infrastructure God by Lucas Knutson 2017-05-01T18:45:56Z

Interesting game, well done! Although I am obviously not a God of any kind. :) The gfx for the building blocks (barracks etc) could have been made better, it was difficult to know what kind they were. Was there any audio..? I couldn't hear anything. I liked the concept and had to stay and play it for a while.

Small Schifo Prince Planet by maybe 2017-05-02T18:16:05Z

Cute game, even though it took me a couple of tries before I remebered who likes what. Not too intuitive, for me that is. :) Did you do the music as-well? Nice tune! Congrats, well done!

Fenced in Space by garatas 2017-05-01T18:28:57Z

Fun and innovative game! Like the idea and the vector-like gfx! Shooting is always fun! =) What I missed though is some kind of progression with the game, it was basically the same thing all the time? Like new enemies, other stuff that happens and so on perhaps? (there seems to be a bug sometimes when you try to play again, but nothing that hindered me from playing) Well done!

Tulla : New Earth by awesomedannyray 2017-05-02T20:05:52Z

Nice shoot-em-up! Really enjoyed it! Even though each new "level" actually seemed to just start over with new background though, with same weapons/shields as start? Some other enemies, other types of waves, music and it would have been a solid game! Well done! (PS the "story" text between games could have used a "skip"-btn I think...after a couple of times it got a bit too much)

Aquarium Simulator. by Brolton 2017-05-03T20:27:18Z

Note to self: if buying fish for real, buy all of the same type. :-) For a while I had 13 fish! But I only saw 2? I then turned the power off and I had 15 fish! :-) At the end I tried to kill them all off, but wasn't able to. They just kept on living (zombie-fish?) Do the 4 fish-bowls do anything? I wasn't able to use them anyway? It was a fun game and well done!

It's square to be a cube by Khorm 2017-04-24T20:04:08Z

Looking good! :-)

Intergalactic Lemonade Inc. by kawales 2017-05-01T18:19:32Z

Nice game! Liked the music and the "simple" feeling of the gfx. A bit more challenging and this game could be even cooler I think. :) Well done!

Primordial Ooze by primitive-concept 2017-05-04T17:21:15Z

Cool Inception-style-game! Took a while to understand what was going on and what really to do. :) The theme and the feel of the game is nice but the controls (to me) seemed a bit..off somehow.

SMALCODED: A Small Eco-Destroyed World by ronsaldo 2017-05-02T18:29:34Z

Fun game! Although I was never able to find a portal? I just killed everything and then wandered around until my energy vanished and i died... (I played the web-version) It was also a bit difficult to understand what tiles were OK to walk on ("ground") and which ones were "walls". But maybe I just a bit slow. :) Well done!

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Money Is Everything by Jani Nykanen 2017-12-06T20:10:01Z

Loved the game! Nice feel to it and nice control. Audio and better enemy spawn would make it amazing! Well done! (Also, 2 questions: 1) Are you wearing a pajama right now? 2) have you removed the dog food from your ear yet though? bcs that doesn't sound like a good place to keep it. Just a tip.)

XenoNanny by icxon 2017-12-18T21:04:41Z

Nice platformer! Really nice graphics and audio. Level design is also cool and I like the idea of the game. For me I think the control/character was a bit too "slippery". And I didn't quite get how the LD40-theme fitted the game. But all-in-all a really nice game! Impressive you could make it so polished in such a short time! /Greetings from a fellow Phaser-dev! =)

Crate Expectations by Joel Davis 2017-12-06T06:51:38Z

Well another game I sucked at! ;-) Interesting game that I see could be a fun Candy Crush-type of thing on mobiles perhaps. Some smaller issues with the controls stucking and being able to place goods outside the walls. All in all an enjoyable experience! Well done!

Sugar Crash by conrad123 2017-12-06T18:38:23Z

Hello there top-down car steering game-dev! :-) Loved the game and the fun music. The changing controls freaked me out though. :) Some more stuff to grab would make a bit more gamy I believe. Good work!

Snakey Snake by FrozenCow 2017-12-05T19:23:29Z

Of-course! A "classic" snake-eats-apples-and-grows-game is a perfect fit for the theme! Why didn't I think of that? :) Really nice puzzle game, I liked it!

Whatever Floats Your Boat by testudor 2017-12-05T18:26:27Z

HA, I loved this game! So simple yet so fun! Jolly well done!

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-01T19:10:23Z

Yeeeah! We are live! =)

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-05T18:07:28Z

Thanks for testing the game and all feedback! We have now fixed a couple of bugs that made the game a bit harder than we planned. So going off road shouldn't be as harsh as before and killing pedestrians now has a max value (you basically slowed down to a full stop before).

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-06T19:43:20Z

@cg-fred thanks for playing and rating! Yeah, we didn't get to refine the engine sound, sorry about that. But we thought it would be better to have something than nothing for the engine. :)

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-06T19:43:56Z

@anize thanks for the feedback! Hm, maybe we should lower the sound of the engine? :)

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-06T19:45:06Z

@r2d48 Thanks for playing! Don't worry, I'm mostly too slow also. :) And who doesn't drive wearing sunglasses in a desert?? ;-)

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-06T19:46:10Z

@kothead Wow, thanks for the kind words! I hope this isn't the first game you played though! ;o)

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-06T19:47:47Z

@serval-games Well, we hoped it would be. And I think we were right... :-) This game is definitely based on those kinds of games.

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-06T19:49:14Z

@pepri Thanks! I will tell that to our graphics meat grinder @sawtan and throw him an extra meat tonight for job well done!

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-06T19:50:45Z

@cg-fred Thanks for playing! Yeah, people seem to have a problem with the engine sound. Maybe we didn't notice since we think the sound is so awesome!? ;-) Nah, we just didn't have time to refine it...

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-06T19:52:08Z

@rocktavious Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, we had different approaches before settling with this one. It fitted the theme of the game the best, we think.

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-06T19:56:40Z

@cubeeo Heey, thanks for playing! Bah, who has time for instructions at a death rally anyways? Yepp, we wanted there to be "shortcuts" to make it feel like you are tricking the game :-). It adds a bit of fun we think. Again, thanks for playing and good luck with the killings! Please do post an img if you get some awesome results (or just post one anyways)! It would make us happy! :-)

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-06T19:59:17Z

@justking144 Haha, yepp, that was kind-of the point. :-) Its bad to kill people! But it's so fun... But if I do I go slower! Yeah, but you get more points... :-) And hey, the car is made to go off track also, only it wont go as fast....but sliding around in the sand is fuuun! Thanks for your feedback!

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-06T20:02:47Z

@jani-nykanen Hehe, actually we had that at first....but there was A LOOOOT of screaming then. :-) And it also took away some of the fun off running people over, we think. (Don't try running over people IRL though! No matter what color your car is. Only when the world comes to and end in a CARnage this is allowed!) ;o)

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-07T07:02:27Z

@x-budsterized-x We did too! Did we just become best frineds? (Yupp!) :-) This is actually why we made this game, we missed those games. [?name the movie quote!]

@blizary thank you! @sawtan giggles like a little girl every time his gfx gets compliments! Running people over is part of the game, so don't feel about it. ;-)

@aaronw thanks for playing! Mission accomplished for us then! Just what we were going for!

@krasse Ooohhh, there goes @sawtan again with the giggles... ;-) Yes, those are definitely things we would loved to have refined, but didn't have time to do. Thanks for playing and enjoying, comments like this makes us happy! Are you Swedish BTW? Cause I like some krasse on my meat-sandwich! You making me hunggy! (cress)

@adrenallen well running over peds (or pedos as we like to call them, making it more OK to run them over) isn't really negative. In real life maybe, but in the game it is the only way to get a score. :-) Thanks for playing! (stop that giggling @sawtan ffs!)

@nilsson yupp, you are evil and you are going straight to hell! Sorry! But on a good note; you can play the game in hell as much as you want to! Thank you for your kind comments!

@mase classic is what we were going for! We also agree regarding the gfx, we just didn't have time to add more stuff. :( We also wanted to make the game difficult, but not impossible. Just like in the 80's! Oooh, yes, we had planned for an update/shop-screen! But there was no time to implement it... Thanks for playing!

@captaindreamcast exactly! Who doesn't like a good scream when running people over? Right? 22 is an OK score! That's 22 less mouths to feed meat to! Thanks you for your comment and for playing!

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-08T06:42:23Z

@andreas-ragen-ayal thanks for playing and your comments! Yupp, we agree, an upgrade shop was in our backlog. But we had to remove it, didn't get the time to develop it unfortunately. And you might be correct about the boosts, there was only so much time for refinement. Thanks and Game On!

@swarrly Thanks, we did play quite a lot with the controls. Everybody has a little bit of different take on how it "should" feel. Glad you liked it! Maybe we should have added some info in-game also about the power-ups, we didn't think about that actually, thanks for the tip! Glad you enjoyed the game!

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-18T20:48:10Z

@tobiasnl yeah, we had a bit of arguing on how much drifting to have / how "realistic" it should be and so on. Some people even think it is too much drifting right now. Thanks for the comments, feedback and for playing!

@nerketur the long screams are intended, they should make you think about them. If you like running over people youi'll like the sounds! If you don't like running over people. well, don't run them over and they wont scream! Easy! ;-) Thanks for playing and your great comments!

@mr-madcat why thanks for noticing! We did put some time into polishing it to make it feel more like a "real" game. Often the LD-games we make are far from polished... Thanks for playing please come again! Miua!

@tvance the plan was to record our own voices for the screams, but I'm not sure we actually had time to do it. So our sound-guy did them. I don't believe any animals or humans were harmed during the recording... ;-) Hm, yes, maybe we could have been a bit more clear on the theme, but we were just happy to be able to put something fun together, didn't have so much time to think. =) Thanks for playing!

@icxon wow, thanks for your valuable and detailed feedback. It is much appreciated! We actually agree with most of your comments (even the "other things" ;-) ). Unfortunately there wasn't time to polish it enough to take all the small quirks out of it. We hope you enjoyed it anyway and thanks for taking the time to do a detailed run down of the game!

@roaring-cat-games yeah, we wanted it to be difficult. But maybe we made it a bit too difficult in the process. The point was to make the player fight for that finish-line to make the win even sweeter... Powerups could have used a bit more polish, yeah. Hitting pedestrians isn't really just punishment though, it is the way to get score. BUT if you score to much you will go slower (as in the theme om LD40 :) ). Thanks for commenting and playing Mr/Mrs/Miss Cat Games!

Like a Boss Rush by dcolgan 2017-12-06T19:06:04Z

Hehe, fun game with nice "daddy-joke" hints. I like! Some sound (8-bit?) would have added a bit more I think?

Larry Kroft and the Temple of Booze by thomz12 2017-12-08T06:33:44Z

OMG he need medical attention, sweating like that! Nice level building and fun to play. His sisters needs not to be ashamed of his brother in that area. The sweating and the boozing...well, that's something different. I had some problems getting the hand of dropping stuff in correct places, took a bit of trial-and-error but didn't take away from the fun game play. The music and sounds really fits well with the theme also. Did the sweating make him slower also? I don't think so, it was only a graphical thing..? Bravo, well done!

Salty Business by drtizzle 2017-12-07T19:22:22Z

Nice music and I liked the humor! Also the graphics was really nice. But the game play wasn't that interesting after a short while unfortunately. Good work!

Procedural City Maze by artmajcher 2017-12-06T18:33:04Z

Interesting idea even though it would seem I suck at finding boxes. :) Was there a algorithm that calculated the possibility to get to all boxes in time for the player? Bcs it seemed impossible at times...but I might just suck. Even at easy-mode. Didn't quite like the idea of dying bcs you fall off the path. Perhaps you would only walk slower? Nice work!

All By Yourself by kothead 2017-12-06T20:28:10Z

Really liked the idea behind the game! I would love to have seen some better level design. I think the "first" level was a bit to hard to start off with. Better to "ease" the player into the idea I think. Very well done!

Morning Coffee by Linus Lindberg 2017-12-07T19:59:41Z

Haha! Interesting idea! I liked the player and aesthetics of the game. Although I was not sure if the character was actually drinking any coffee (I got -13 points!?). Also I could not spill a drop of the coffee when a mug fell over. Some more refinement and some challenges somehow and this could be a fun "pass the time" game I think. Jolly good, carry on!

Fire Storm by Swarrly 2017-12-07T20:09:27Z

Nice idea for a game, I liked it! The graphics were not that interesting though so some new graphics would probably lift the game a bit. Also some power-ups and/or a way to go the the "next level" or something like this? I either suck at this game or the balance was a bit off, it got difficult a bit to quickly for me. All-in-all well done in 8h !

Party Penguin by LiquidBrain 2017-12-06T18:00:02Z

Cool game, nice music and penguins! Yeeeaaay! Didn't get past lvl 3 though, but maybe if I practice a bit more.... =) Keep on keeping!

Escape the Lab! by Harry Jacobs 2017-12-07T19:46:04Z

Wow, really well done! What a fun game! Sure, it's not perfect: sometime the character "sticks" to a straight wall, the aliens do strange things (maybe they are supposed to?) and the controls don't seem to listen as they should. But some minor refinement and this would be even better. I really liked it anyway. Fun idea with the aliens tagging along for each level, didn't expect that but it follows the theme nicely. Congrats on making a fun and enjoyable game in this short time! =)

Spitty Space Faces by howardcs 2017-12-06T17:53:06Z

Nice classic asteroids-style game is never wrong! Good touch with the faces/eyes! I'm also glad you could restart on the level where you died, it would have beeen waaay to hard for me otherwise. =)

Cute invaders by sgadrat 2017-12-05T19:34:01Z

No wonder my chickens starved, they don't know how to use knife and forks! ;-) Liked the idea you got going here, loved the art. Also I think I won! My hi-score: a lot! ;) Thanks for the game!

Ludum Dart by kbjwes77 2017-12-06T19:25:15Z

Very nice game! Congrats! Now I need to drink beer and play some more darts...c ya!

Flowers + Bombs by justking144 2017-12-06T20:16:48Z

Interesting game, kind of a puzzle but not. It was very laggy though. And after a while the "light"-circle grow to cover the whole screen and I didn't have to move the mouse. Re-spawning flowers just blew up by themselves. (Ok, just read the comment you made that this was intended) If that would get refined, and some music and nice sounds added this could be a cute game! Well done!

Spin Attack by ditzel 2017-12-05T18:56:56Z

Nice twist to be able to control the book, that made the game! But some work on the controls, refinement, would make it even better. Good work!

Happy Loot by Aycan 2017-12-05T18:15:22Z

Really nice game! Like the theme and feel. The controls are however not really "right" for me, right-click to move is not how "other" games do it. :)

Overdosed! by Madbeagle 2017-12-05T19:40:22Z

OMG! This was way to hard and stressful for me, glad I'm not in this line of business! ;) Really liked the gfx but figuring out how to cure took a bit too long (for me anyway).

Objectification by CaptainDreamcast 2017-12-06T19:29:37Z

I'm glad I'm married and off the market. Sheesh it's tough dating! Panela is a bit bossy also... Loved the game!

KissaGame by azuredraco 2017-12-05T19:06:41Z

Allright, I'm a crazy cat man! I like it! Sound and graphics is really nice. Like the idea also, even though having that many cats is cwayzzyyy! 8-) My hiscore: Cats=501, Score=8243. There is some bug/feature that makes you go through walls sometimes. I also got stuck in the "bottom" om the house wall, could not get out. Was "glued" down. Is there a way to restart the game, wo reloading the whole thing? Btw "kissa" means "to pee" in Swedish. Quite fitting I guess. =)

Capital Hell by Kapura 2017-12-05T19:53:14Z

As a "game" it wasn't that exciting, but as a whole "experience" it was really nice and fun!

Collect More Precious by Derek Brouwer 2017-12-05T18:33:25Z

Pleasent game with a pleasent mood to it. It took me a couple of tries before I understood what to do, but then I "won". :-) Sounds, some kind of enemies and more obstacles/longer level would have made it more fun. Nice going though!

Save_Starship_R2D48 by R2D48 2017-12-05T20:00:05Z

Fun shmup! A bit more difference would add a lot. Also I got "Congratulations" and OK button? What does that mean? Did I win? Loose? What was my score then? I'm glad you could hold down the mouse-button! =)

Save_Starship_R2D48 by R2D48 2017-12-06T18:46:17Z

@r2d48 nah, I think holding down the button is fine! Activate/inactivate autofire would make it too "easy". Maybe you could write "Congratulations, you won!" ?

Hymenoptera by Rocktavious 2017-12-05T19:20:13Z

Interesting "simulator"! If it is a "game" I didn't quite understand it then. :) Is ther a way to win/loose? Never happened to me though, none of the states. I did my best to kill them, I think, but failed it would seem. =) Some more game mechanics would make it more interesting. And a way to "group control" the ants instead of having to individually clicking on each one (or maybe that was part of the theme?) :). Nicely done anyway!

Space War Never Ends by X Budsterized X 2017-12-06T18:10:18Z

This ship-woman-thingy has not evolved far enough, she dies really easily! :-) Really nice game, I liked it a lot. But I found the controls to be a bit awkward somehow, not so easy to control. A bit of more polish and this could be a really cool(er) game! Carry on!

Catdventure by Andreas Ragen Ayal 2017-12-07T19:31:41Z

Nice idea and a fun cute game! And cats! There is some bug (?) though, sometime the cat goes to another "room" and is then gone, no way to get all cats home then. Some refinement and I think you could have a fun game on mobile devices that a lot of people might want to play. I liked it anyway. And my daughter. =) Nicely done!

Catdventure by Andreas Ragen Ayal 2017-12-07T20:14:58Z

@andreas-ragen-ayal I believe it happened when it got to the left of the sofa and somehow when I jumped on it/tried to carry it, it was gone (got into the next room?). So it was impossible to clear the stage at that point. Once we also accidentally bounced a cat "into space" (via the red chair in the middle). :-) But that-one actually fell down like 20 sec later...maybe that was intended though. It was fun feature! :)

Mother Earth's blues by louckousse 2017-12-06T18:04:07Z

Art and music in nice. Regarding the gameplay I'm not sure, there wasn't enough feedback to know what you were doing. This would need a bit more refinement and then it could be an interesting game I think.

Theme - The Game by Cubeeo 2017-12-06T19:19:50Z

Well this was kind of...Monty Pythonesque? Not sure I love it or hate it. ;) I love it of course! I THINK I made it to the end, a rainbow. Don't know if that was the end. Or if I won. Or lost. I don't care. Thanks for the experience!

Tri-Angle by FussenKuh 2017-12-06T19:39:40Z

Simple and fun! I got stuck playing it, so that's a good game! :-) Never got above 250 though... Thanks for coding the game!

Greedy Merchants by jlreymendez 2017-12-05T19:46:53Z

Beautiful game, liked it a lot! Never got the be quite comfy with the controls though, kept steering into islands a stopping. :-/ Is there a way to "win"? I never succeeded though, but I'm not really good with ships it seems. Mote "levels" and perhaps "missions" to solve would maybe make it a bit more "gamy". Thanks for creating the game!

Block Away by Nerketur 2017-12-07T19:54:43Z

Cute game that needs a little bit more work/refinement. It wasn't easy to understand what the point of the game was. Was it to pick up only yellow? Didn't see any diff if I picked up other colours? The ball would be better if it actually rolled (graphically) but the feel or a rolling ball was there though! Also not sure where a boss battle should come in or how that would work, but it does sound interesting. Well done!

The School Work by bluelazanja 2017-12-07T20:22:31Z

Oh what the...! I wanted to go work for Pear! ;-) Interesting game with an interesting theme. For a first game I think it was OK. Some more interesting choices and "adventure" would perhaps make it a bit more "gamy". And maybe some graphics and images. But I can tell you put some effort into it. Well done!

Water Your Melons by Kciwsolb 2017-12-06T18:16:50Z

Nice cool game! I enjoyed it. Went well with the music and feel. Maybe it was only me but I think the controls were a bit laggy/slow. Other than that, well done!

Brilliance by Kobrar 2017-12-05T19:10:54Z

Really liked the idea here! But the key mapping was to difficult for me, didn't feel quite natural.

The Burger Joint by zantze 2017-12-06T18:24:41Z

Ah sorry! A freakin fun game idea but the controls killed it for me. :( I would have loved to play more but it was too frustrating for me. Polish the controls a bit and it would be amaaaazingballs. Oh yeah, loved the gfx!

Matchy's Kooky Cookies by Michael Silverman 2017-12-18T21:14:27Z

Nice graphics, cute vibes all around! But it was a bit too much clicking for me. :) It would have been nice with some alternate levels in between maybe? I also didn't get the instructions and thought you were supposed to let the stars have the cookies. Really nice first LD though! It felt smooth and polished! Well done!

Duplicating Aliens by Abdonatioera 2017-12-05T18:46:36Z

Really liked the game idea! It should be explored more into a puzzle/action game! Well done! I agree with previous comments that the controls got "weird" when you had clones, but maybe that was intentional? Maybe it should be refined a bit more though?

Neon Hell by SirPumpyJam 2017-12-06T09:16:37Z

Beautiful, fun and nice sounds! The controls didn't agree with me and the "flying into space and disappear" was a bit confusing at first. Very well done!

Mineirinho by rmc 2017-12-05T17:36:16Z

Nice feel and atmosphere. Although I had a problem with the camera, maybe I missed something? I was only able to look one way, which made it hard to get to some places. Also some info about controls would have been useful. (WASD + click with mouse to take/give gold/silver? OR are there more buttons?)

Garçon! by tangentspacegames 2017-12-07T20:04:29Z

I used to love this kind of games. But I seem to have lost the touch, it got too difficult too quickly for me. Liked the graphics, but missed some music. Also I'm not quite sure if I got the correct food...but they seemed happy. Well done!

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Save the Yel's! by LeReveur 2018-12-04T06:52:41Z

Nice game! I like this style of game and doing one for LD is an interesting idea! It is ofc difficult to make a game really polished in this short time but you managed to get the basic mechanics of the game! Some sounds are missing to make it more compelling, an exploding Yel would be fun also. :-) And screaming Yels for that. The controls are a bit iffy making it somewhat problematic sometimes. Also, when failing it is not fun to start over at level 1. :-( Good work!

NOPE by icxon 2018-12-05T19:57:28Z

Cool game dudes! Graphics and mood was really great. Also the game and controls felt really tight. Felt like the retro games I used to play on my C64/Amiga, that's a compliment. :) Like a mix of Alien and Star Trek or something.

Well done, and glad to see Phaser used!

Sacrifications by Rolle 2018-12-04T20:21:45Z

@selina thanks for your kind words and thanks for playing! We did want to make it as complete and polished as possible, but alas, time is limited in a LD. :-) Scary? Well, they are just pixels you know. Or are they...? :smiling_imp:

Sacrifications by Rolle 2018-12-04T20:32:52Z

@dapotap hey thanks! Glad you liked it and hope you had a fun time playing! After this @sawtan will start boosting about his gfx. Again. ;-) And I will start boosting about my scary sounds... :open_mouth: :loud_sound:

Sacrifications by Rolle 2018-12-04T20:44:58Z

@hebbinckuys-paul thanks for playing and thanks for your comments! Hm, "concept is not very original"? I'm quite sure we invented this type of concept for a game for this LD!? Never been done before, they told me? At-least that's what my team-mates tell me! ;-)

Of-course we were inspired by games like this. We love the genre (Bubble Bobble I'm looking at you!) And yes, we had fun! But also difficulties and sadness at times, as per normal in a LD. ;-) I'll tell our sound-person/engineer about your praise of the sounds. (Hey, that's me! Thanks dude! :speaker:  )

Sacrifications by Rolle 2018-12-04T21:02:43Z

@sbtn flat blood eyh? Well we had MINOR problems with getting it SHARP enough thru the MAJOR pixels. (that's a free music joke for you right there! )

Kind of you to play and comment! @sawtan will be pleased people like his stuff! He gets very disgruntled when people don't. (**hint hint** people giving grades!)

@khorm put a lot of effort into those levels, to get them just right. He fought right to the bitter end, and still wanted to add more levels. So a :trophy: to him!

Sacrifications by Rolle 2018-12-04T21:10:53Z

@0x01f0 w000t!? They told me it was impossible? It could not be done by a mere mortal human, they said! And you sir/madam did it anyway? What kind of beast art thou? Well, we have no choice but to send you the check. Get back to us with your adr and we'll mail you the giant check of awesome! :trophy:

Wow, can't believe you put so much effort into playing it, makes me happy and proud. And a bit worried for you... :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Naaah! We made this game for people like you. The 4% that actually are sadistic enough to go to the bitter end just to hear my voice at the winning screen :speaking_head: . We salute you! :v: :confetti_ball:

Big thanks also for your great feedback! We agree with it but we'll blame it on time. She is a cruel mistress especially on a LD. :sob:

Sacrifications by Rolle 2018-12-04T21:49:40Z

@derek-volker well somebody had to do it. So we had a sit-down with the chaps in the team and agreed to take one for the LD-people! Hell yah! Heroes they called us. (no, they didn't, nobody called us that)

There was sure a lot of devil/hellish-themed games, but the theme name was kind of telling for this area I think.

Gfx-guy @sawtan is happy! Sound hobo @rolle is sad. Nah, jk! Thanks for the comment, I agree. There just wasn't any time to fine-tune the whole game together, to make all parts really tight. It's more of a concept, a feel of what we had in mind. (BTW killing priests should be startling, so that's a good sign  )

The idea with the levels was some kind of puzzling feel to it, and @khorm did a great job! But ofc we didn't make it all the way we would have wished.

Thanks for playing and thanks for your comment! :joystick:

Sweet Tooth Scribbler by one-seed-fruit 2018-12-04T20:08:30Z

Haha, cute and quirky game! It made me happy playing it. Music and sounds are quite fitting also, nice work! Is there a way to end up NOT dead? :-) I sure didn't manage to do it though. =)

The Pizza Lord by 0x01F0 2018-12-04T21:41:22Z

Hey, cool game dude! :call_me: :pizza: Did not know there was a Pizza Devil/Demon, but now i know. I have been educated. It also kind of makes sense.

The second fixed version is much more playable, the first was a bit too dark. For me the humor works great. But then, people tell me constantly my humor sucks so... :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I loved the atmosphere and I ofc expected more horror, more scares. The mood was there.

Regarding the controls I also agree, took me a bit of time to understand that I had to hold it down to hold it. :) My first move was also the fridge for the cold stuff. But that's all in the game! Controls worked nicely and the music was fitting. I have to say your demon sound voice was cooler than mine. :sob:

Nice art and effects all-around, I can tell you are pros in the area. Sure a few quirks (text on objects, font in narrating screen) but a solid entry! Congrats!

I agree with the comments, largest game evva on a LD? Is there some kind of price for this, I think you should have it then! :medal:

Get down Mr President! by GenericToast 2018-12-12T11:50:01Z

Very fun game and nice concept! Could probably be built upon in a lot of levels. Really like the graphics and the mood that is set with the music. Too bad you opted out/didn't write it yourself! :-) Congrats on a fun game!

Whole Hole by Bugord 2018-12-05T19:32:53Z

I like the concept and the graphics! Could have been really cool! But it lacks bit in the controls and the physics in the game. Some sound would of course also have added to the feel, but getting a game done is not easy for a LD. But the basic game idea was fun I think and fitting for the theme! Well done!

Space Hopper by Tom Robson 2018-12-12T11:41:15Z

Fun game and an instant "just one more try". Good level design also! Gfx and audio also top notch! Congrats! (the negatives, basically the same as have been given in other comments already :) )

Emotional Equilibrium by dapotap 2018-12-04T20:39:58Z

I liked the mood and the cool art! A bit surprised the angry birds didn't throw them self's at me though!? :bird: ;-) The game was a bit short and too easy I think, though. Left me wanting more. This game could have been so much more, more enemy types. Could be like an adventure game with a story. The implementation was great I think. It ran great in browser for me also.

Death Wish by Derek Volker 2018-12-04T22:05:08Z

Wow cool game! And Death Wish! Great theme, and movie!

You made all of this alone in this short time frame? Holy crap, you must have sacrificed your sleep and health.

Nice retro feel to it and very nice music and art. Some few bugs but nothing that bothered me (killing everybody = green arrow to continue. But one of the bad guys the arise, but can't punch him and he can't hurt me) I also miss a jump-button, it's classic!

Solid entry, congrats! (even if I couldn't get past lvl 2 :sob:)

Ossium by JammedGame 2018-12-05T20:26:49Z

Nice platformer and graphics! The controls were not what I was used to making it a bit difficult, but that's probably just me. Was there a light to follow, or is that only symbolic? I didn't see one :-) and unfortunately didn't make it to the end. But it was fun!

Succccessss by domkonecny 2018-12-05T18:21:41Z

A game to make you think about sacrifices, in all the ways we make them. Philosophy, quotes and so on. Not my type of "game", but it was pleasant I guess. Music was nice. Quite tranquil. I think more thought and work went into this than it may show though even if it seems "simplistic". Congrats on the game!

Charming's Sacrifices by Colletto Gregory 2018-12-12T11:45:57Z

Charming game with interesting ideas. I like the graphics ideas. Music was really nice also! It was a bit hard to understand what was going on the first time. And as asked before, what did we sacrifice? Keys were also a bit off for me, but nothing that really bothered a lot. Congrats on your game!

Dark Villagers by AwiX 2018-12-12T11:16:21Z

Wow, very cool game! I like it! Only thing I miss are bit better instructions but all-in-all a really solid entry and game!

Grauby Grauby by Danilo Freire 2018-12-05T19:39:39Z

Fun game! I agree with the comments saying you want to try and retry until you make it!

Controls disappear after a while making it hard to continue where you were at. The jumps were hard to master, for me atleast. :-) Would like to have seen more puzzle challenge with the goo, it was basically just to follow the level to get where you were going. So not much strategy there.

Burn-Out by Tom Kurcz 2018-12-05T19:18:09Z

Nice mood in the game, but depressing. Atleast I made the 1st year! I guess other choices would have killed me..? Touching story, a bit short. Music was really nice also. Congrats on a solid entry!

Minotaur Maitre D by Steve Moore 2018-12-04T20:18:56Z

I really liked the idea and the feel in the game! And how it was possible to fool the Minotaur by luring it into other places. For me I would like to have seen better control, or different controls perhaps. It was not tight enough. It was also a bit too easy and since not much changes I kind of gave up 7-8 levels in. As someone suggested already powerups or something like this would have made it more interesting. And of course music and sounds, but I know time is not easy to find to do all you would like. =) Good work!

Bubble Trouble by dzuvan 2018-12-05T19:27:31Z

I like this charming platformer! However the controls didn't quite fit me though, had to play with my left hand. (I'm right handed) I likes the graphics, but agree that the jump sound could have been toned down a bit. Well done and congrats on the game!

Nasty Birds in a Chill Forest by selina 2018-12-04T20:30:00Z

Very sweet game! And I loved the music, I'm a sucker for acoustic guitar. But next time I see a tern, I will turn around and hide. Don't feel like getting my brains pecked out!? :scream: Not sure how it ties into the theme though? Maybe I'm missing something? Some minor bugs, like white-tailed eagle info not coming when touching the bird etc. Very cool and Congrats on your first game !

Nasty Birds in a Chill Forest by selina 2018-12-04T20:56:13Z

Ah, the old sacrifice-the-cow-trick, I see! Broke my heart to kill that cow in the forest, but s/he's in a better place now. In the eagles stomach. :eagle: :cow:

Lastcrifices by Cerebral Bore 2018-12-12T11:28:51Z

Cool game! Fun playing! And yes, I did also see the phallic symbols when I look at the screenshots you have. :eggplant: I had to look closer to make sure. =) As said before, the game was a bit "easy" and could have progressed faster. Congrats on a nice entry!

The Noble Asparagas by anderskristo 2018-12-04T06:35:59Z

I loved it! I'm a sucker for bloom! I don't know why asparagus' make a duck sound when jumping, but hey, I'm not an expert in asparagus. But I would love to have seen some more game elements, like "duck" (as in not only jumping  ) or perhaps some other kinds of "enemies". The theme, you have to sacrifice gas to get more gas, I think it works. All in all though it made me happy playing it and the gfx is top notch for this kind of style!

You tearing me apart! by dominikDeMentor 2018-12-12T11:21:47Z

Flying Slime by gamefive 2018-12-12T11:34:35Z

Nice cute game! Cool you used Scratch, I could probably never have stand it. :-) I liked the graphics.

Was there a goal in the game, an end? I didn't reach one though. And what was the "sacrifice" part of the game? Cool entry and congrats on the game!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Conduit by reheated 2021-05-04T15:55:49Z

Nice solid and well made puzzle game! I'm glad there was no penalty for "number of junction points/key-presses" or time it took to solve a puzzle though... The puzzles are surprisingly well made in this short time. This often becomes a big hurdle for games like this and the time constraint.

Also loved the music, it was very fitting.

Congrats on such a well made game!

Is this a tiger? by limered 2021-05-04T19:31:35Z

ZOMG the tourists are stupid! Why would you go the the corpse of a dead person who just got killed by the animal you want to see??? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Haha, nice cute game! Well, "people" die so not "cute-cute" but still, cute. The sounds and the feeling of the game was really nice and the graphic fits very well with this theme.

Fun clicker-game but sometimes it felt like my "clicks" didn't impact the tourists at all. Could be nice with some indication perhaps that you managed to interact with the tourist? Audio/visual? But I liked that the guide was fast runner at-least!

PS I will not start working as a guide.

Congrats on making a wonderful game!

Space?Space!SPACE by Meta-link 2021-05-03T08:59:29Z

I got a nice warm "retro"-feeling playing this! I liked the graphics and the colour-palette very much, felt like a good theme. I tried the keyboard first but it was easier with USB-gamepad (just like you recommended  )

Sounds would have added some extra to this, but other than this it is well made in such a short time! Enjoyed this one! :rocket:

Shoot Them Deeper by pndaa 2021-05-04T16:55:22Z

Nice aesthetics and game-play! Liked this schmup-world, it felt nice.

The counting was used a bit too much for my taste, it could have been used more sparingly. Wish I could try it with a friend, seems like a cool idea also.

Congrats on making a fun and beautiful game! :rocket:

@mrnyarlathotep thanks for playing and commenting!

Yeah, after playing the game so many times I thought it was getting too easy. But also I didn't really have time to experiment with when/how much things should disturb the miner. I agree it was a bit too much. I had ideas of enemies and boulders falling, but alas, time is not merciful when it comes to these game jams.

@khorm thanks for playing and nice score! I didn't get that high of a score...

As always with these game jams there is not much time to test the game as much as you would want to, so yeah, there are definitely a few glitches. I see it more like a "Proof of Concept" than a full featured game.

My first idea was actually to make a rouge-type of game, going down catacombs, deeper and deeper into the earth. But I was afraid the level-design-stuff would take too long...this was the third choice.

@adonisdevs cool, the simultaneous audio tracks: that's a feature I worked on some time to get it juuust right! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I noted this "feature" but didn't have time to dig into why it was happening. Thanks for your comment, I have added a warning about shaking/blinking in the game.

@xlambein big thanks for the extensive review and comments on the game! I wasn't aware of the "The intro screen music doesn’t play the first time you play the game" so thanks for spotting this!

I have only my poor time management to blame, I didn't have time to fix all "small" quirks. Instead I wanted to get something out there that was working "OK-ish". Also, I have basically no ideas about gfx and creation of this so I really didn't give this much thought. I only fired up Piskel and started drawing the fast I could (which wasn't fast and really bad also) Thanks for brining this to my attention, I will think about it next time. :rocket:

The Fall by sawtan 2021-04-28T05:41:30Z

Hell of a game! :)

Amaaazing graphics and marvelous (and fun) music. Well put together by the coders also, some really nice effects there. I would expect no less from you guys. ;)

I liked how the game fit the theme and the Inferno-idea. The controls, for me atleast, was a bit "wobbly/soapy" (maybe bcs my new wirless keyboard?). Also sometimes hard to know if you hit an enemy or not, this would have been nice with some cool deaths also.

Yes I know, the time constraint is a an evil mistress...I'm sure you had to leave behind a gazillion ideas because of this.

All in all, devilishly well done, congrats!

Deep Words by 0x01F0 2021-05-08T14:34:14Z

Cool idea for a game and interesting interpretation of the concept!

"an drunk rummaged across the furrball the furrball glared through the injury"

Make you think about that poor furrball and the consequences of alcoholic beverages... :smile_cat:

I would have liked that it would have been possible to regret a choice, at-least one step. Even though I like the idea of not being able to regret also...

Also on my machine (Windows) I could hardly make out the text against the window, only on mouse-over could I see what the text said. Was this intentional?

A bit disappointed also that I couldn't interact with the cats... :sob:

You could also save the words without actually seeing them. :)

Hope you don't see this as nagging because I really liked the game! Congrats on making a wonderful game!

Eat Prey Live by mrnyarlathotep 2021-04-28T05:53:03Z

Beautiful game! I love the ambient feel of it and the game play. Also really like how the player and the "enemies" moved/flowed. Well done!

Some thoughts, and I know the time constraint probably made you have to prioritize other things: Difficult to know where you are supposed to go sometimes, as you have no point of reference. I sometimes just swam around for a minute or so without seeing anything else. Maybe as the others suggested, a zoom out or a map or something?

Also I thought you should eat "enemies" that are smaller than you. But it seems I could eat all? Or did I loose a "life" when I did this...? Seems I could eat larger prey but it wasn't clear why (this could be because of my previous experience with games like this, nothing says you couldn't).

Congrats to a really special and nice game! Thanks for the experience of playing it!

Really liked this game, would love to see more of it. :potable_water:

Suluben by kromeboy 2021-05-01T12:59:51Z

I loved Nebulus back in the days! This is a nice reminiscence of that game. Had to play it "just one more go", so that is a good grade right there I think.

I would have loved to see some clearer directions on where you would die falling down, and where not. This could be solved with level-design also I guess. Also maybe adding time to the experience would "spice" the game up, making it so you can't linger around on a level too long. Of course sound and music would also have added some extra spice to the game but I understand that it's not always possible to add all you want in such a short time.

Congrats on a well made and fun game! :rocket:

Cool game! Fun idea and quite well executed in this short time.

I liked the jumping in to their minds-thing, although I once fell below the ground and was stuck there looking at their feet.

Hope you get the time to make it the game you wanted to do! (we all fight the time constraint-thing... :-/ )

20,000 Shots Under the Seas by -FL- 2021-04-30T06:22:56Z

Woho, I made it to the leaderboard! :rocket:

Fun classic shootemup with nice variety of both enemies and weapons (for this short time of LD)!

Although it felt more like a shooter in the space but with characters from the sea, perhaps add something to the controls to make it feel more "submariny"? Also hade some problems with lagging for one of the special weapons (the one that makes the screen red), but that might just be my computer.

All in all a a very enjoyable game, congrats on making all of this so well in such a short time!

Holy Moly by dooleus 2021-05-01T13:09:41Z

Fun game! At first I thought it was a boulder-dash-clone and then I realized you didn't have to clear a "level" before going to the next one.

Liked the music and the stress from the Rapture was nice! After a while the controls got a bit "slow" on my machine, but could be me though.

Congrats on a nice game! :joystick:

Welcome to the Factory by epb9000 2021-05-12T12:17:44Z

Nice kind-of-puzzle-platform-game-thingy! I really liked it and enjoyed the nice graphics and music/sfx also!

Sure, it would have looked nicer if the fuzzball actually rolled around when moved but that didn't take away from the experience.

Congrats on making a fun game!

Deep Sickness by Poroporo-su 2021-05-01T13:46:49Z

Nice graphics and wonderful mechanics in such a short time!

Would have loved some music and nice(r) sounds, it would have added a-lot to the mood.

Congrats on a really nice game! :rocket:

Deeper Into The Mind by michaelyount 2021-05-04T15:38:03Z

Nice bullet-hell game! Loved it! I was glad I didn't have to click the mouse to shoot.

A few problems, it wasn't easy to understand what to do. Should I hit the "tentacles"? Should I hit the "monsters"? There was no feedback knowing if my shots made any difference. Then at "level 2" (?) the monster suddenly disappeared and I was left alone. Then a screen saying "Restart / Quit" (or something like this, I don't remember)

Also, I started playing this on my MacBook w. FireFox. I didn't understand what to do or what buttons to use. I later figured out you had to have a mouse to play (trackpad didn't work well  ). The controls were easy enough once you understood what controls were used.

Well made game, I have always wanted to do a bullet-hell-game and this caught the feel of it with the gfx and the music I think.

Deep trouble in the art gallery by Rob Parker 2021-05-01T12:36:26Z

Loved the game! I do love those point-n-click games so this was right up my alley. Too short though  but very well made for this game jam. Liked the humor and how it fit the theme. Also liked the art, felt like an old-school point-n-click.

Very well done, thanks for making it and us experience it!

How deep is this rabbit hole anyway? by snesgaard 2021-04-28T19:39:33Z

Love the gfx, the art and the feel off the theme! Well done for such a short period of time. The effects are really fun.

Some effects are a bit too random for my taste and makes it a bit difficult to know what is really happening (oh, did I die? What? Noo...the meters keeps ticking hmmm)

Also as had been said before, sound would have been nice :-) And yes, it is possible to use the microphone and shout. I did that on my game.... Yeah I know, game jams really stress you out for time...

I also pressed the button I shouldn't, of course. Why else would you write something like that?

I got down to 429 before my rabbit screamed for mercy. :rabbit2: Thanks for making it and making us experience it!

Sheltered Deep by ThorPalsson 2021-05-03T10:46:51Z

Well made game in such a short time. A bit short but that is definitely understandable!

A nice humor/horror-game, not usually a fan of "sneak-around"-games but still liked this one.

Good gfx and well made audio, what's not to like? Congrats!

Down There Somewhere! by ETdoFresh 2021-05-02T11:24:45Z

Nice little button-clicker! I have cramps in my finger now...

The sound and graphics was nice and added to the game.

Abracatabra DBDBDeep by gamefive 2021-04-29T15:39:13Z

A nice and interesting game you could invest some time in playing and trying out stuff.

It was a bit unclear what the different icons meant and some sound would have given the game an extra dimension I think. Also a bit unclear to how the theme fit the game..?

Hope you get the time to develop this further it seems to have a fun potential, congrats on making a nice game! (PS I did win  )

Freefall by timujin 2021-05-01T13:41:04Z

Heeey, endless runners rule! And I'm nit saying that because I made one too... :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Wow, you implemented a random/proc gen level? I thought of doing that but didn't think I would have the time to test all that out. So nice work on that!

Drawbacks with rand/proc levels is that they are not always perfect and make it frustrating sometimes since you don't get the feeling you are given a serious chance to go further.

Really fun game, loved the graphics also, and really cool levler-gen! :rocket:

Swab the Deck! by dans17 2021-05-08T14:01:29Z

Nice game with interesting concept and well made sounds. Definitely a game I could play more than once. :) It feels like I didn't even have the time to scratch the surface in this game during the time I played it. You seem to have put a lot of things into it in this short time, impressive!

Congrats on a well made game, one of the better ones I have played during this jam! :ship:

The Final Frontier by BinaryPrinciple 2021-05-01T12:49:03Z

Ah, another-one making "endless" falling games

I really enjoyed the game and the ambient bubbly sounds added to the nice feeling of it. I would have loved to see some more variation or challenge but in the time frame this was made it was a good and fun game. Also appreciated that the controls felt exact even though the "3D"-world could have made it a bit challenging seeing were the character is.

Close your eyes by VersatileSponge 2021-05-04T19:11:09Z

Cool different game! Or rather relaxing and ominous... Too bad it is so short, it feel slike the game didn't even got set up so difficult to say how this would pan out. (Was it a dream? Was it a level in the game? Was it somebody high on drugs...?)

Congrats on the entry, you made something cool!

Space Jump by Gaminghamster 2021-04-30T06:38:19Z

A stressing game that feels relaxing, good work! I made it to 43, have no idea if that is good or bad though. I was also hoping to be able to catch the stars, but alas they only floated past me. Enjoyed the music too.

It took some time to get hang of the controls but when I did it made more sense. I agree with the comments about a timer on the platforms, that would be a nice touch. I also didn't know I was going to run out of platforms, there wasn't an easy way of know how many I had left? Or did I miss that..?

Congrats on a wonderful game and being able to make it on a stressful game jam!

Deep 90 by Bit Assembly 2021-05-02T10:33:52Z

Interesting game and I got some nice Half Life-feels for it! Also love the theme interpretation.

But I also had problems finding how to pass the second door. Maybe I didn't search well enough? And yes, there is some glitch with the lightning, depending what way you lok it can go dark or light all of a sudden.

Cool game and feel, congrats!

The Ocean Depths by ziggykac 2021-05-05T13:21:10Z

Cool game! Nice and enjoyable to play, really relaxing even if one was swimming away from sharks.

Apart from what everybody already said (I haven't read all the comments so maybe theu already said these things also) It would have been nice if you could hide from the sharks if you swam into sea-weed. And perhaps a mini-map.

Congrats on making a fun game! It was an enjoyable experience.

Past the Final Frontier by towergame 2021-05-02T11:08:09Z

I loved the CRT-effects, and the 80s feel overall! Really liked to do research and to get further and further. The music also fit the theme nicely. I can see this getting built out really well as a really large exploration-game.

Well thought out and well done! :rocket:

Search for the Undergem by FluffyGameDev 2021-05-01T13:34:44Z

Nice polished game with great graphics and music! In such a short time this is a feat! :medal:

Congrats!

Nice Fall by Nice Gear Games 2021-05-04T17:06:55Z

Wheeew! I won! Quite fun game and I think it would be more fun PvP. For me I think it was a right balance of randomness with the "AI"-player. Also liked the graphics, the animations and the happy tunes! Made me think back to the childhood and the "retro"-games I used to play.

Congrats on making a fun game for this jam! All thumbs up! :duck:

Project Achelois by DzejPi 2021-05-01T13:27:02Z

Really nice atmosphere and the feel of underwater! I liked the suspense of not knowing what was about the happen with that exciting music playing along...

...but unfortunately not much did happen, for me. After about objective 6-7 and about 10 minutes I gave up. Didn't get to fire any weapons or seeing any "enemies" only diving in the dark chasing objectives that didn't actually provide much.

I really liked the game though but it could need some more pace or some more actual action (like maybe you need to dig for some samples or something at each objective).

Well made in this short time and cool sounds!

Break your fall by Last Angle 2021-04-28T19:57:52Z

Congrats on finishing a game in 48h! :confetti_ball:

A well put together game and I really liked the art/gfx. Not sure though if there was some foul play in it because I managed to hit all the red arrows on my first try...there should be some bonus-score for that, no?

Highly Successful Research Submarine by James Macgill 2021-05-04T16:14:14Z

Wow, this game is impressive! Both the concept but also all this stuff in this short time. A mix of "casual game" with some nice building-genre.

Most other comments have already talk about what could have been done also to perhaps make the game even better, so I will not repeat that here.

Congrats on an unique and excellent game!

Bucket Hat by Edur 2021-05-08T14:08:26Z

Congrats on your first jam! Quite a feat to have a working game at the end of it!

I really liked the game and the hat-throwing, it felt really solid. Although sometimes the hat didn't got thrown the way I thought it would, you really hade to point in the correct direction. Maybe this was how it was intended though?

Well made graphics too bad audio didn't make the game, it would have added quite a bit to the feel.

Well done! :v:

Run, Glim, Run! by Neshtyak 2021-05-02T11:15:29Z

Nice cute endless runner! Loved the art style and the music.

Some visual/audio feedback when hitting a stalagmite would have been nice. But the largest concern for me was the jumping, it didn't feel like it was in-synch with key pressing or rather maybe it didn't feel like the platforms were quite at a correct distance to how much Glim could jump.

Congrats on making this nice game and getting that nice feel of it!

Submarine Expeditions by Zeusonator 2021-05-04T16:22:23Z

I looove the "programmer" art in this game! I don't mean that in a bad way, don't misunderstand me. Nice idea and fun style. But for me unfortunately it was too difficult to jump between the different controls. Maybe could have started off on an "easier" level with the platforms and made it more difficult as it progressed? But it's not easy to find the right balance in such a short time, I know. Really liked the idea though, so congrats on making this fun (but difficult) game!

Down Down Well by OldDog 2021-05-04T16:44:45Z

Fun game with an interesting twist! Liked the artwork and the colour-theme, also really liked the audio as-well (until I read in the comments how to enable it  ).

I also found the controls a bit wonky, and I don't think I can blame all of it on me sucking. The level-design could also be improved, e.g. already from the start it was difficult to know where you should be heading as you couldn't see so far down. Maybe an arrow that points the way or something..? But I'm sure this is because lack of time and not having enough time to design the levels.

Congrats on making a great game! The comments are only nit-picking since the game is already so well made.

Spooky Ocean Game by CasualNothing 2021-05-04T19:23:02Z

Nice theme and really liked the music! It got darker the deeper down I got, but picking mushrooms seems to make it lighter. I didn't quite understand what the numbers in the left corner symbolized?

Well made theme and interesting idea that could use some kind of better explanation/HUD or something I guess.

Dig Deeper by Incal 2021-05-02T10:50:49Z

Nice little game were you need to run (or dig) faster than lava.

Only being able to dig down makes it more challenging. I did make it to the end once, in 36 seconds.

However it was quite unclear that I had reached the end, all of a sudden I just saw the text "Congratulations on your escape". Didn't see if I walked into a door, portal or something else.

Audio would have added a bit more to this game also, but I understand the time constraints don't always allow you to do all you want.

Congrats on this entry! :rocket:

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

[Web] Stealth Dance! by Linver 2018-05-01T12:36:40Z

Pretty nice game you have here! I like the idea and the gfx and music. Also the humor. I had some problems with the controls, at lvl 2 the character also got stuck in a corner and wasn't able to move. So some other controls I also think would benefit the game. Nice work guys!

Interstellar Sav Nav by garethjenkins 2018-05-01T12:50:25Z

Quite a challenging game and really nice gfx. Quite cool once you figured out what each thing does. Missed some music/sounds though.

Tejuru (Tetris & Jump & Run & Digger & Unicorns) by larzan 2018-05-03T20:07:05Z

OMG iz awesome! And it has unicornz! x2 the awesome! I really liked the idea here! But it really escalates quickly, maybe give some more slack in the beginning so that a n00b (yeah the other peepz, not me....) has a chance to get really hooked. But I lööööve the idea and the feel here! Well done good Sir/Madame!

FAST CRASH by tweedle 2018-05-01T12:40:48Z

Loved the aesthetics, 80's-outrun-synth! Fun combo of genres also. But the progression was a bit lacking, felt easy all the time. The questions were ridiculous though and could just have been "mumbo-jumbo". ;) Really well done!

Funk Escape by Rolle 2018-04-24T07:28:18Z

@dwemthy; thanks for playing! Yes, it is a bit diffucult before one gets used to using both hands and brains (?) at the same time. We agree. But it also gets easier quite fast once you get a hang of it. Striking a perfect balance between difficulty was a challange for us, and a bit too short time to try out all types...

Funk Escape by Rolle 2018-04-24T07:29:59Z

@swarrly; thanks for playing and thanks for the comment! Yes, those are all good valid points. Maybe we could add alternate controls to the once you suggetsed also...

Funk Escape by Rolle 2018-04-24T07:31:47Z

@hanra; thanks @hanra! This comment makes @sawtan giggle of enjoyment, he sounds just like a little girl! With the hair, you might think he is one also...but his beard gives it away. ;-)

Funk Escape by Rolle 2018-04-24T07:33:51Z

@pancakefriday; thanks for playing Mr Pancakes! (we love those pancakes we too, but we eat them at Thursdays like the viking savages that we are) Are you using only keyboard or are you playing with keyboard + mouse?

Thanks for the kind comment!

Funk Escape by Rolle 2018-04-24T08:21:14Z

@loonydrope; thanks!! Really nice comment, makes our gamer-dev-hearts happy! Striking the balance of "just hard/easy enough" is always a challange!

Glad you like the :unicorn: , it was actually just a placeholder at first but it stuck somehow.

Funk Escape by Rolle 2018-05-01T10:40:52Z

@gatinmnsok; thanks for playing and thanks for feedback! Yeah, if we would have had some more time to think about the game we might have chosen other controls. Seems it might not be the best option for a rythm game maybe...or maybe it is the perfect choice. We will never know. ;-) :musical_note:

Funk Escape by Rolle 2018-05-03T19:43:26Z

@jyrms: thanks for playing please come again! ;-) We tried to make the game not to hard but it seems some people still have difficulty with it. A lot of our testers (friends/family) actually thought it was too easy...not easy to please all! ;-)

Funk Escape by Rolle 2018-05-03T19:46:47Z

@psiv: wow, thanks for that detailed feedback! We tried to make the music so that you could concentrate on the schmup and only listen to the notes. But it could probably have done with even some more fine tuning. But the time constrain...and so on... :-) Yeah, we had bigger plans for the schmup with just what you mentioned and levels and so on, but again, tiiiiime we had not. :-)

Funk Escape by Rolle 2018-05-03T19:48:56Z

@tigerj: thanks for the feedback! We think it is an excellent exercise of your brain this game! You will get smarter each time you play it! ;-) Finding the balance between too hard/just enough was a bit hard. Hmm, perhaps we should have made it even easier in the beginning. But fine tuing requires time, this we had not. =)

Funk Escape by Rolle 2018-05-03T19:52:22Z

@szabe; yepp this is a real exercise for the brainz! It is also possible to only listen to the music and look at the schmup with some training. :-) We had some interesting times trying the game on different friends/family but after a couple of tries most of them managed to get to the end. But more fine tuning would probably have been better... If only we had a time machine. :satellite_orbital: Thanks for playing!

Funk Escape by Rolle 2018-05-03T19:53:33Z

@mandarad; thanks for stopping by and trying it! Appreciate the feedback! :wave_tone1:

Funk Escape by Rolle 2018-05-03T19:57:28Z

@infinitycore: yes, this is an exercise for brain and eye-hand-coordination! Thanks for your feedback! And we can assure you that we had top scientist, professors and musicians performing tests and other important stuff in labs wearing white coats (also safety goggles) who came to the conclusions: Yes, by George, this tune is FUNKY! @sawtan wrote and recorded the music, I'll check if he has some link to it... :-) :musical_note:

Funk Escape by Rolle 2018-05-03T20:00:23Z

@awesomealliterationalliance: thanks for awesome feedback and nice team work of you! Our game is bringing people together! What's next, Noble prize perhaps??? ;-) It seems maybe our tests are not fine tuned enough and we perhaps made the game a tad too difficult too fast, so thanks for the info. We will consider it on our next game! :champagne:

Nekomimi is Hungry by parkdraws 2018-05-01T11:52:06Z

Well made, looks really nice. Catching fish was fun! :-) Some music/sounds and progression to the game would have made it nicer. But I really like the aesthetics and would love to see more of this.

Super Balls Defense Base Craft by radmars 2018-05-03T20:31:26Z

Say wooooooooot? Pinball AND tower defense? That iz craycray! I love it! Quite fast paced, especially before you get some kind of hang of it. I kind of liked that bit though, but some more visual help would add a lot more game play I think. Well done!

Don't Shoot (Visual Novel / Tac Shooter by tigerrenko 2018-05-01T10:32:55Z

Cool game with interesting story. It kept me hooked for a while. However, as has been said before, I didn't understand the "timing choice" at first. It wasn't obvious and I thought it was some kind of bug. You should make this more clear somehow.

Also some more sound/music/ambiance would add a lot. Well done and with some fixes I can see this as a nice novella-type-of-game on the mobile that you would play instead of reading a book or something. :-)

Oni Hunter by pataya 2018-05-01T12:55:37Z

Nice aesthetic slow motion stuff. Overall it was really great game. Only thing missing is some kind of info that the level has failed. Nice work!

Escape The Future! by Razorlance 2018-05-03T20:15:45Z

Sweet game of skill and luck! Nice ambient feel. It was fun trying to get the turrets to destroy the blocks so you could pass thru. A bit difficult to see when the shield was up/down. Some more nice progression/levels and fine tuning this would be a really entertaining game! (well, even more I mean :-) )

A Really Bad Case of the Mondays by Amatwiedle 2018-05-03T20:38:30Z

Haha, loved the game and the music! Maybe a bit too easy, I got to work on my first try. Great work!

Harvest: The Farming - Red Owl Games by Rocktavious 2018-05-03T20:45:01Z

Liked the idea here! I can see this becoming a really interesting game to play. For the downsides I pretty much agree with the previous comments so I shall not repeat them. Well done! Keep up the great work!

Dungeon Drifter -- A roguelike racing game by Triceraptodactyl 2018-05-03T20:25:18Z

I like the idea and the drifting together with the random dungeons each time. Some better handling/sliding of the car would add a lot. I believe there are already comments about the insta death and I agree to a point. But it shouldn't be too easy...I think it adds some challenge to the game. :) I think a bigger problem is it lacks a "game" element, score, progressions or something like this.

Pizza Chef by imKrye 2018-05-01T12:28:15Z

Fun and cute game, mu daughter also enjoyed it and played to the end. It took a while to understand that the ovens didn't have to get ready, just in and out. Some nice music on this and progression would made it an awesome game. My one complaint I guess is that I don't see how this fits the theme off LD41? This is quite a common game genre.

SmashyStuff by BenViss 2018-05-01T11:49:00Z

Cool game in the rampage-type-of-game-style! It was fun smashing and growing, but the appeal wore off after a while for me. Music was great, did you do it?

Bebop's Breakout! by don.shinski 2018-05-03T20:52:24Z

Oh, finally, a classic point&click text adventure! Wait, wat!? Yepp, this was a nerve wrecking, but somehow I had difficulty giving up. Hey, it's a cat with Scottish (?) accent. Difficult to give up. But I never want to play it again. Well, maybe just once more... :scream:

SCAPE CRAFT by DevBayer 2018-05-01T12:45:13Z

Interesting idea, quite fun! A bit unpolished and rough around the edges but I can see this becoming quite a fun platform/puzzle game. (The HTML5 embed seems to not load always)

The final decission by Weareaniceteam 2018-05-01T10:24:42Z

Grandpa is in heaven now... =) Entertaining story with nice mood, graphics and ambient sounds! Did you also make the music in the title screen?

As a game though it was a bit lacking for me. I also don't see how it combines the theme of the Game Jam?

But really well done with graphics and mood!

Run 'N Hide by MooseHat 2018-05-01T10:37:35Z

Haha, what a nice little weird game, I love it! :-) Although it was a bit lacking and I didn't understand why I should turn into a shape. And who was chasing me, and why? Some nice music and sounds would add a lot also. All in all, entertaining! This is what makes GameJams fun!
