I just played the whole game four times. It’s pretty addictive and fun, the art style and animations are wonderful, and levels can offer some challenge. Also, I love the moment when you get crazy and the camera zooms in the main character so you can enjoy the metal dancing style.

I just wish you have more. It feels like you can go deeper into this idea.

Nice entry, guys! I struggled at start - though all movement is by clicking too (skipped the description, sorry), but then managed to understand - failed in pink level though, can't get the proper rhythm, and have no idea what it is (animation of other dancer doesn't help)! Like the music and humour, and how in this stealth game you also can use people as cover! :D

Excellent art and jokes! The first time disco police came after me I cannot resist a chuckle. And I liked the idea of dancing with various styles to blend in the crowd. Would be great to be able to move a little faster, but otherwise it's a great entry.

Super cool. I want to see some kind of adventure game in this world.

isopoly 2018-04-25 05:35

That was really fun! Fantastic artwork and audio  Great Work!

Great idea, great art, nice music, terrible controls! xD

I think the controls are not very intuitive or ergonomic, and you have no idea if the rythm and movespeed. It's a pain to move around, specially with the floor changing colors so much.

You guys got some pretty good everything - even the level design is awesome. But the game is hurt too much from the controls. You could have gone simple with a "on rails" style that you only have to go forward/backwards while keeping the rythm, or you could add some use for the keyboard (be ir movement or rythm). This would not only benefit the game as a whole, but add another layer of challenge from the coordination between 2 hands doing separate things.

Good job!

Pretty nice game you have here! I like the idea and the gfx and music. Also the humor. I had some problems with the controls, at lvl 2 the character also got stuck in a corner and wasn't able to move. So some other controls I also think would benefit the game. Nice work guys!

Thank all you for the feedback! I changed a text hint on the floor to make clear how the red dance work. I change it because it made the game unplayable for some players.

What! only 8 ratings given. Lovely art and great sense of humour. All in all great entry!! If you expand on this, I suggest to make the first ten or so levels easy for players to get sucked into.

angela-he 2018-05-08 19:17

Fun game!! I wasn't quite clear on the directions. Am I supposed to click in time to the music? I liked how it changed depending on if you were in someone else's "floor". Really love the concept and the art, great job.

poio 2018-05-08 19:18

Oh wow, that one is funky ! :D Took me 356s to finish it. Congrats, really awesome work.

And as i'm in dire need of ratings too, feel free to try mine : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/asimovs-breakout

A boss fight? In the Ludum Dare? Fascinating

Before anything, I have to ask. Does this game have audio? I played the HTML version and didn't hear a thing, which is weird for a rhythm based game. If not, it's a shame, since it could have been fantastic.

Anyhow, the game itself is extremely impressive. Great visuals, and I really dig the idea of making a Stealth game using the flashiest mechanics and concept possible. This is the kind of things that make the LD so interesting. Heck, I'm willing to call it the best combination I've seen so far, since these are the least compatible concepts I could have thought of. It's ludicrous and excellent.

The mechanics are a bit weird and hard to get used to, and the character can feel a bit sluggish, but still, this is very fun. There's a lot of expansion that can be done to it, so here's hoping that there's more Stealth Dance in the future, or something of this caliber.

Great work again. [My team](twitter.com/whalesandgames) would like to congratulate you again on such a fantastic entry. Keep up the good work! :whale:

linver 2018-05-08 21:04

Everyone thanks for playing and feedback! The game of @littlestone-games is commented by me just a moment ago. Next games are in progress.

@moski - There are 4 soundtracks and we worked hardly to mix them nicely. I and my friends have a small lag before music start playing (about 2 seconds), but it did not broke the game before this moment. I think that we should try another way of music compression and loading.

tayfun 2018-05-08 21:49

I have got the same audio problems. "Audio clips in WebGL will always be imported in the AAC format, as that is widely supported by different browsers."

moski 2018-05-08 21:52

Okay. So, I sent my friends to play this game just to confirm that I wasn't crazy. Apparently, Chrome mutes auto-play stuff or something, so Chrome people like me won't be able to hear it. Which is a shame.

Discord_2018-05-08_16-51-09.png

If you add said thing if it's available, it should work best, at least, according to what I understood.

linver 2018-05-08 22:11

@moski oh man, you have saved my day! I did not even think about this stuff. I disabled "auto-play check box" just a moment ago. Really, it will not change anything at this moment, but I will much clever at the next time. Thank you!

@tayfun thank you for a try to help!

Done: @poio, Next "In danger" games in a queue: tgiant, tayfun, Other next games in a queue: moski, angela-he

linver 2018-05-08 23:59

@tgiant, @tayfun, angela-he, moski Thank you for help! I checked your games too, as I have promised.

@angela-he, @moski You are cool ludumers to know and looking for good moves to repeat and learn :D

niterich 2018-05-09 03:50

Dang, this is such a nice game! I love just about everything about it: the awesome art, the funny jokes, the amazing atmosphere, the progression and tutorialization of the games mechanics, everything! My only complaint is there didn't seem to be enough feedback on if you're pressing it right. Like, the camera should quickly zoom in and out if you time it right and there should be a noise if you're off beat. Also, some of the word phrasing felt... off. I kind of want to see how far you could take this concept, with different venues and music styles. Definitely one of the highlights of the jam!

triastase 2018-05-09 06:58

Wow, very, very well done!

I really like pretty much all of it, but here are the two things you could improve (in my opinion): - One time I got stuck to a wall in level 2, that should be relatively easy to fix. - It wasn't really clear to me what to do in the boss fight at first (maybe add a hint that we should just completely avoid the boss-tiles and that's it).

linver 2018-05-10 11:39

@triastase Thank you! It was a "by design" idea to teach the player to avoid boss-tiles with a level-design. The mistakes were the boss message and previous tiles learning, I think.

@niterich Yes, I like very much your ideas about improving clicks feedback! Probably, I should learn English more before trying to write jokes

ponchoguy 2018-05-15 00:44

Played this on steam, and pulling off a dance stealth game to this degree really has my hat off! :yum:

I loved the different colours to represent how heavy your dancing is - It didn't take long to learn, it was organic how to play once I got stuck in! :v:

As a small touch, maybe have the dancers around you look at you funny when you're not doing the correct dance - The bar at the top was enough for me but it's another layer of polish that would look great!

Honestly hard to nit-pick, this is a fantastic entry and I had great fun playing! :yum:
