LD38 — A Small World

Fat Cats by PonchoGuy 2017-05-09T14:54:51Z

@richard-michael-smith Thank you for your feedback! One of the initial plans for the start was to add moving Fat Cat AI to the game, although I was way too focused on getting the multiplayer aspect right for this Compo.

Character control I will admit needs alot of work - I am thinking just one analog stick for movement where the Cats will rotate automatically and move to wherever the joystick/mouse keys go.

I initially went with the chunky world for a style effect, although a flat world would definitely be more feasible!

I found that the Quit button was a bit too harsh, I have added a restart in the new release!

Thanks for your time  Your input is greatly appreciated!

Fat Cats by PonchoGuy 2017-05-12T02:58:40Z

@redblack-spade Absolute respect for your honest feedback, developing this game has taught me so much in terms of scope and timescale - It's my first experience working to this kind of deadline.

Addressing your experience with my game, I never realised the characters could move on the character select screen  That was really not intentional.. :cold_sweat:

Paint was an intentional art decision I made with the game, although I will now admit that it takes 'non-professional' to the next level and there are much better programs to use for this kind of work.

Since the Jam, I have been getting further into Blender, Krita, and FL Studio in order to create better assets for my games! Hopefully this realises into a greater experience for my players

Thanks again for your time and feedback, it really does make a difference to my work!

Last day of the woods by Redblack Spade 2017-05-12T03:50:27Z

//////Pros///////

I love how fluid learning how to use the different power ups was - I was an expert in seconds!

I absolutely adore the sound effects and music, really fits in with the atmosphere with the game (Mushroom jumping and death sounds were my favourite)

Completing levels felt rewarding and it kept me engaged! :open_mouth:

Covered the need for a reset button w/ spike pits in areas where the player gets stuck (GJ!)

//////Cons///////

Level design could have been less linear, instead of just left to right. Up or Down would have been nice

Music loop had a long delay (5+ Seconds) at the end of it, which broke my immersion imo

Not enough save points / annoying spike placement (Annoying to have to redo my mushrooms again and again)

//////Verdict///////

Amazingly polished game for a 72 hour jam, great job!

Whatever Floats Your Boat by testudor 2017-12-05T17:31:09Z

Great concept, interesting take on the theme

I love the implementation of the weights and slime portals

A feature that would make this game interesting would be picking your loadout at the start: Armour + Weapons would cost weight and it would encourage players to go under healthed/geared at the sake of weight on the boat

Audio could have been more varied but other than that, great job!

GameJam Survival Simulator by VicoViper 2017-12-28T15:01:37Z

Hey I played this on stream it was fun!

I got up to 75% completed :yum:

The chair I feel could have moved like the door, he seemed to just glitch through it

Something that would be great to see would be creating a genre of a game and picking the focus of it - The end game would then be published and you would get fake comments going "this is bad" "booo" in the comments if it's bad :yum:

All in all great game! Has real potential!

Crate Storm by Goncalo Monteiro 2017-12-05T21:13:58Z

Ditto @moski It just won't load.

Sofra by dietzribi 2017-12-17T16:02:31Z

Hey! Thanks for coming on stream last night it was great fun playing your game!

The art, the feel and the music were honestly spot on and I was enthralled the whole time!

Something I would add for the special folks like me  would be some mechanic test to show I can use x to drop multiple bunnies at once (maybe a weighted pressure plate with a buncha bunnies next to a sign with it) and that tip you gave me in stream about 3 bunnies = the weight of 1 bunny didn't come right away for me - although I felt like a idiot when you told me lol :yum:

Other than that, it was spot on and you had multiple mechanics (switches, doors, buttons, cages, vultures), you saw me keep going and trying and that's what makes an engaging platformer.

You have my kind of humour too so

One Night to Score by nervous-composers 2017-12-18T22:55:20Z

Hey I played this on stream! It was great fun

I liked the incorporation of the drink mechanic where you can have too much as to make the UI goes funky making it hard to distinguish what decision I'm making

Something that I thought was weird was how she was still there even though I triggered my gag reflex vomiting and called her boring - It would have been great having multiple girls and having the twist of finishing with the most attractive girl in the room is actually.. well

For added features if you take this post-jam would be focusing on the multiple endings - I felt I had to beat up the boyfriend to win - Maybe puking in front of a girl would make her shoo away but having an amount of alcohol in your system effects your confidence etc and it's management getting her to like you enough without puking and your favourite girl getting disgusted and leaving!

Otherwise, it was great fun and the twist was really funny! :yum:

Doubloon Lagoon! by Nikolaj 2017-12-05T05:52:30Z

Beautiful music, great enviroment for relaxing doubloon collection.

The sound effects had me in stitches when it crashes into the island, really funny

Downside would be the camera angle coming away from the green island - nasty, ended up with me crashing into a couple of islands

Ship was also way too fast at the start in my opinion, so much it was like having jet thrusters shoved on the back of it until you reach a sizeable amount of doubloons and it controls OK.

Nice interpretation of the theme nethertheless :yum:

Adventures of Sir Eek O'Nommie And The Invisible Hand Of The Market by KafkaLovesYouy 2017-12-05T15:40:34Z

Same error as @willisika :sob:

The music sound great though, it's a shame!

If this issue gets fixed I'd be happy to play - as with the other commenters

@kafkalovesyouy Good luck!

Don't Sink by alvinasiaten 2017-12-18T23:21:36Z

Hey I played it on stream it was really fun!

I liked managing to keep the ship afloat while avoiding cannon fire from the pursuing ship :yum: those sharks were really lethal!

One thing I thought was missing was some red indicators of where the cannonballs are going to land - It was quite unforgiving especially with the explosion that took away a good chunk of my health in a blink of an eye.

A feature I would add if you are taking this post jam would be an easier way to grab those health packs - Maybe have a harpoon gun that can pick up the rafts that you can (bring in) with the middle cabin - This would give a better reason to move away from the pumps, getting greedy with the incoming upgrade/cash/health rafts - and bringing the game difficulty up and creating choice (you could actually mistakenly bring a shark in to damage the boat!!) :yum:

This was great fun to play! Thanks for making a great game - Good luck with your post-jam version if you make one!

Graveyard Shift by radmccool 2017-12-07T10:24:57Z

Amazing shooter with an interesting take on the theme

I loved the fact that I could bank the money and jump around and shotgun people - The ragdoll physics were very satisfying too!

What I would wish for would be that the AI would still follow me even though I'm jumping high (they seem to just drift away otherwise)

A feature that would make the game more addictive would be that the money you put in the bank has intrest (builds up over time) and that you could increase the intrest rates to get more money, upgrade damage/jump height etc

Had alot of fun, thanks for making it

Cheers!

Zombeer by justinooncx 2017-12-05T06:44:41Z

Great game, fell for the "ooh let's pick up the beer for the sake of picking it up" thing which really messed with my vision (Great theme guys :yum:)

Controls were easy to understand and the game had a variety of zombie types which was great.

Nothing really else to add other than the music could be somewhat less samey.

Cheers!

The Luckiest Businessman by mortus 2017-12-05T20:03:43Z

Very nice game @mortus managed to get through the whole game!

Screenshot_13.png

Other criticism was the music stopped after one loop of the game - Don't know if this was intentional.

It was fun trying to manage all the bars and there was alot of stuff to buy (and pray that the robbers don't steal it from you!)

I didn't know we still had that by Papaver 2017-12-16T01:30:48Z

Hey! Thanks for jumping on my stream last night - This game was really fun and I'm glad I got to the end :relieved:

I loved the boxes and how frantic it was getting the items needed to finish the level - DEAR COULD YOU.. grr

It was a great experience and there were no glaring faults that I could really pick up on  played right for me and I liked the pacing with the level format!

For admin sake, and for my own ego - It would be great to see a menu screen with the 4 levels (locked to start with obviously) but with a time score and a grade? it would be great to see A+ ranks across the board and it will give people a good reason to replay

Great session! Definately one of the favourite games on stream! :yum:

Money transporter by lexi 2017-12-17T22:22:02Z

Hey I played this on stream last night, had fun playing the game! :yum:

I loved the fact you could do a quick one two and grab the money from the store and quickly deposit it into the banks or hire coppers to do in your pursuers.

I said on stream that it really should have played like packman where I could go from one side of the map to the other side (very far left going in = very far right coming out etc and vice versa), it wasn't very fun getting caught in the corner (although maybe that's intentional for difficulty)

Something I would add to make the game even more fun would be some road works going on that would stall the player and make them do detours (might even add to the difficulty with wrap around) - makes the player think "where should I go from A to B"

As I said loved the cops, the passive black robbers and red active pursuing robbers - It's really well planned out and great fun to play :yum:

Cheers for your work! It was a pleasure to play

Apparently I'm a detective by Hayzar 2017-12-19T00:19:51Z

Hey! I played this on stream - It was great!

I had fun finding out the ending and playing this point and click (chat helped me I was abit slow!!!)

One thing that had me abit lost was finding out what to interact with - It would be useful to have a hover over text description of the items (I saw the exclamation above the head but even then there are alot of items near me :sob:

For the post-jam version I think the story needs to be fleshed out a tad bit more - The twist was excellent but predictable as many other commenters have said, maybe a chapter format with the 3 clues in each one - Great work on having 3 slots it made me think "there's only one more thing left"

It was a great game! Loved the mood you set it made for an amazing experience :yum:

My Dragon, Don't Munch!! by IkigaiSeitetsu 2017-12-05T17:55:19Z

offscreen.png Screenshot_9.png

Hey great job with the game I had alot of fun playing!

An issue I found though was I was able to camp at the very bottom of the screen and rack up a huge score (don't know if that's cheating but it could be offset by creating a border around the screen to stop the dragon going that far and missing the action!)

Loved the dragon and food graphics and your interpretation of the theme - Too much food is a bad thing :yum:

Cheers!

MAGNETOGRABBER 2000 by kroltan 2017-12-05T21:12:19Z

Hey Krol, nice game! I enjoyed the play I just had

Loved the magnet feature and it's cooldown, it was satisfying sucking in the meteor chunks and adding them onto my spaceship for transportation.

The asteroids were in fair positions as well not being too overwhelming

One suggestion for making this game more fun would be to have upgrades at the drop off station, maybe this would give special abilities like boost, lasers to fire at the asteroids in the way or even side boosters. These could be got depending on what ores you have collected e.g (2 blue + 2 green = lasers)

Kind of hard, but it wasn't too punishing - My kind of challenge

Cheers

Dog-Off! by BrothersT 2017-12-05T05:28:37Z

Great game with a great interpretation of the theme

I was immediately impressed by the menu screen with the duck and it's tutorial that taught a complex game simply.

The eating noises were spot on, the woman yelling "Go Go Go" and the small and skinny guy having the high record were enough for me to score so highly on humour.

Very Innovative, Great Fun!

One idea I would suggest is carrying the humour throughout even the tutorial, e.g have a grandpa next to your character while you're trying to learn the controls and where it's said "eat 5 hotdogs" add on "oh don't worry about him he'll never finish" haha

Vastator & the broken hitboxes - The game by KureKureciCZ 2017-12-05T18:31:47Z

@danmanngames Same problem

Food Fight by PonchoGuy 2017-12-05T15:09:56Z

Thanks for the great feedback @sovogirl @justinooncx @nillard @draperdanman @dboot

I tried to stay true with keeping the player on edge in this game by implementing minimal pausing, and having the player shoot manually instead of automatically although maybe the interface could have been less intrusive as to be unforgiving of your surroundings and there could have been pickups such as a rocket launcher or automatic gun to level out the constant tapping!

Thanks for noticing those glaring bugs!! :scream: The scoring really needs ironing out in the Post Jam version and getting kills after dying it well.. wasn't the intention :see_no_evil:

@draperdanman For the damage effects I gave 3 meshes to the enemy cakes and enabled and disabled them depending on the amount of damage they recieved.

Thank you guys! I'll be sure to play and comment on your games in turn!

Food Fight by PonchoGuy 2017-12-05T16:23:24Z

@moski

Aw mate :yum: It's great hearing your feedback on the game! and it warms my heart that you had genuine fun playing that was totally the intention!

It was a *zany* concept from the beginning, having hordes of food hunt you down and make you eat them - it developed into the hot blooded, although very much noted rushed 3D FPS we see today.

Me and @allpowerfuldev have learnt a great deal making this game, not only through learning Unity, but also fundementally in terms of boiling down the concept to "What will make this game fun" which we kept asking ourselves again and again .

I'm sure as punch we'll coop some great new titles in the future so cheers to that :whale:

Food Fight by PonchoGuy 2017-12-05T22:33:49Z

@don-fouts @URNext7634 @bobstopka @abyster Thanks for the feedback guys it's really appriciated :yum:

We'll be ironing those issues out and adding new features to the Post-Jam patch when it comes around

I'm so glad you guys had a fun play around with my game :yum: It was a pleasure to make and I'm grateful for the constructive criticism and kind words.

Food Fight by PonchoGuy 2017-12-07T11:03:55Z

@dogsquad @marjoriep @bastienre4 @radmccool @robert-newman

Thanks for the feedback guys  I'm glad you took the time to share your experience with me

Haha - Yes, those sweets are very, very delicious! It made me hungry making the game actually  So maybe intentional?

I was thinking up some tacts in ways to make the game alot less unforgiving at the start such as a wait timer before the Candy Forces 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐝 upon you, or even a wave mode.

Extra guns + Jump pads are planned for the Post-Jam update too - Hopefully that will excite the gameplay a little more!

I'm glad you enjoyed your experiences overall though, it's what making games is truely about in the end :yum:

Food Fight by PonchoGuy 2017-12-15T23:22:27Z

@grentacular @lerpish @goncalo-monteiro @natwomb @fancyreckless

Cheers for the feedback and great suggestions from you @grentacular I really appriciate it!

We have alot of implementations and tweaks for the post jam work :relieved:

It's really thanks to you guys that you gave the game a play - You can see alot more than I can I can tell you that much :yum:

Drunk Santa by UrsiGames 2017-12-17T22:13:13Z

Hey! Great game to play on stream, it was really funny!

It played incredibly well and I loved managing the sleigh and the santa to grab the beers!

Found it abit weird finding the chimneys from the clouds, maybe seeing aeroplanes, hot air balloons or helicopters in the sky to compensate this it would have made it more realistic (although.. this is a drunk santa game!)

A feature I would add to make this game more fun would be an auto-piloting beer option (a special pickup) that would send you forward 5 chimneys but would make you really really drunk (gives the player more variety really :yum:)

Other than that, I'll have to commend you on the great music and SFX - loved the drunk we wish you a merry christmas song and the smashed glass bottles - definately gives a new impression to the word "merry"

Cheers for the game! Had great fun playing

The Terry Pebble Show - An Awful Day Time TV Simulator by Poffle 2017-12-17T22:48:13Z

Hey! This gave me great laughs on stream

You really did capture the image of the Jeremy Kyle and Jerry Springer, everything from the sad piano scores, the studio laugh tracks to his awkward whiney voice going "wakeee up keyleeee!"

Her voice had me in stitches as well, that brummie accent was so spot on - yuck :yum:

Something I feel was lacking was confrontation - dna tests, bouncers stopping fights and backstage trash talking - that would have been the icing on the cake for me, I think the two encounters were just too similar although don't get me wrong still very entertaining!

A feature I would add would be a hover-over mechanic for the guests so I know I can interact with them - It would be a great stepping stone into making the game into a more intuitive and interactive experience - just a thought :yum:

Regardless, you guys pulled off a very interesting title - It was a pleasure to experience Terry Pebble of the Terry Pebble Show!

Diet Jump by Matsudasu 2017-12-17T14:56:18Z

Hey I played your game on stream last night and I had fun!

I liked the BMI aspect where the more you eat the harder it was to stay in the air and the flying pig creature was really funny!

One issue I found was that the apples were abit misleading in terms of being unhealthy - I soon found out that eating them slowed me down but this wasn't straight out of the box.

I personally didn't mind too much about the clicking of the Q and W keys although holding them would have allowed me to concentrate on the apples/spikeballs alot more.

A feature I would add to the post-jam version (if you continue) would be the addition of more food unhealthy food effects your BMI more such as highly calorific Doughnuts, Cupcakes etc and Bananas, Apples wouldn't effect it too much!

I had great fun anyway :yum: Your game had real charm!

Pizza'Matic 5000 by ghodan 2017-12-05T04:07:35Z

Grrr.png

Had some real trouble with this oven destroying my food - When I launch pizzas out of the window 9/10 times it bounces back off the client destroying them :sob:

I lost many times trying to understand how to get the pizza right and what all the ingredients are and what machines they go into - but when I got it I knew exactly what to do!

My favorite part was the machines and order system as well as the music to complement how hectic it is getting the pizzas out on time :yum:

Great game overall, it was fun to play!

Diet Time by GerardB 2017-12-15T23:08:26Z

Hey! I gave your game a stream last night and I really enjoyed it

I loved the fact that the dude sucked in the food and if it was unhealthy he got pretty hefty!

The hunger bar really added to it as well, giving me something else to worry about than not just feeding him healthy stuff

One feature I would add would be a bin - Maybe billy would flip the table and all the food goes off, the table got a tad bit too messy at the end - Intentional?

Also to make life easier for the player - I would make it so the food is highlighted (maybe with a orange/blue highlight so the player knows it's picked up)

Great fun anyway, cheers for creating a great game for me to play! :yum:

I wonder if I had a younger sister by fangzhangmnm 2017-12-05T07:21:41Z

Great integration of story and gameplay - I can definately see the Undertale inspiration.

Had great fun playing, difficulty spike seemed quite sudden however.

Overall great work! :yum:

Cheers!

Get all the Wood by GameDevZach 2017-12-18T23:36:06Z

Hey I played your game on stream! It was fun :yum:

I destroyed all the trees and got the end :yum: It was great chopping down every one!

It would have been cool having some SFX in the game although it was obviously time constrainted it adds to game feel abit and makes tree cutting that bit more satisfying.

With the mansion (If you're taking this post-jam :yum:) It would be great playing on the player's desire to make it bigger and bigger - Stuff like "Just 3 more wood and you can finish the house!" and there's only 2 trees left in the game leaving it on a real cliffhanger and punishing the player for progressing to 'cut all the trees down' like you did here :yum:

Other than that, you can go on and on with a wooden crafting system - You obviously have talent with animation with the deer it would be cool to see that implemeted with the trees bobbing back and forth!

Cheers for the play! Although I think I indirectly killed the deer and me taking down the last tree :yum:

Aliens Want To Probe My A*us by jonbrooks977 2017-12-18T01:38:31Z

Hey I played this on stream it was really funny!

This has the makings of a great COD Zombie Survival Shooter!

It needs really a creepy or funny alien model that when it touches you it does an animation of well.. you know  - Shooting bullets (I can see you got the raycast damage but bullet objects need to be pumped out of the gun)

Some bullet damage (a squash sound or something needs to play when I shoot the alien or some partical effect such as blood (blue or green or red - depending on the alien)

When the core gameplay is more refined - A couple of things here would make it more fun

Upgrades, such as a health buff - one that shoots you up when you get knocked down etc etc is what makes these kinds of survival games fun

If you carry on with a post-jam version take this into consideration and more importantly have fun

Critter Clutter by Burgee 2017-12-15T23:02:45Z

Hey great game! Thanks for letting me stream it last night!

It was great fun sorting out those bugs - You saw how stressed I was on stream :yum: I think you got what you wanted!

Adding the two mechanics of squashing and sorting was great - Although I think quite taxing when you try and squash the tree jellyfish and the other bugs get in the way lowering score, maybe make them instead scurry away with a slap and limit the amount you can do?

Things I would add to make the game more fun would be more powerups - I loved the barrel that came down and sucked them in but maybe another powerup that squashes jellies and one that groups a colour (all yellow, all flying dudes) together to a point of my choosing would make life abit easier for the common player and even make it abit more fun for the elite!

Thanks again! Great work!! :yum:

RuneLight by Arden 2017-12-21T18:23:03Z

Hey I played you game on stream it was great fun!

I played twice on two different streams but I managed to create the moon spell at the end :yum:

I loved the way you can kill enemies to build spells - and the ever growing insanity meter that goes up if you try and collect said spells.

The spell variations were great too!

Something I would make the game abit more sinister would be the visual maddening of the character when he becomes more and more corrupt - Shaking, laughing, being downright insane when he peeks at higher levels - In inclusion to the already excellent darkening of the screen.

If you continue this post-jam, it would be great seeing some areas like the graveyard in threed and maybe an underground cavern area that's accessed using a certain rune on a gravestone :yum:

Regardless, it was hard coming up with helpful feedback! You've done an excellent game!

Too Many Cooks! by Bocodillo 2017-12-18T23:58:22Z

Hey great having you on stream! This was great fun to play!

Those nosey little cooks! Leave me alone lol :yum:

It would be great to have feedback when the bars are just right (maybe like a godly "AWWWWW" with the flavour bar when it gets to the "gold zone" score with a shining indication)

For added difficulty it would be great to use the spatula to taste test the broth (you don't know the flavours till you try it, and with each new ingridient added it changed the recipe and you have to taste again!!! :yum:)

If you have the time this would be great in a masterchef kind of style - With scores and rankings depending on AI (There could be a bad chef, decent chef and gordan ramsey) to face off against for each difficulty level and the weakest one gets chucked out of the process!

:yum: Great game!! Thank you for making it!! :yum:

Mutation Situation by Don Fouts 2017-12-05T07:00:14Z

Screenshot_5.png

Don't do drugs kids

Great fun shooting all those mutants and I loved the effects of the mutations (one point I think I was a pixel on a screen..)

Only criticism would be audio is abit samey here and there and whether or not the out of bounds glitch was a feature or a bug I'm not too sure..

Rebel Call by SeanNoonan 2017-12-17T15:23:10Z

Hey great to have you on stream! Your game was awesome :yum:

The eerie 1984/Papers Please oppresive music really put me in the game

I complimented the 3D encorporated buildings in the 2nd level - They looked amazing!

This game would be good with a menu with containing the levels (If this gets taken further I presume there would be a couple more  maybe with a score based on time completed?)

It would also be cool when getting the last citisen in the area seeing an animation of the new blue supporters overcoming the red security forces in the level!

A feature I would add to make the game have an extra dynamic would be putting up posters (these would be ripped down by security forces but inspires people in a range)

Thanks again for creating :relieved: this was great fun!

Captain Capsize by Lance Krasniqi 2017-12-05T17:13:09Z

Very innovative game, took abit to learn the mechanics but when I found out I had a blast!

Only criticisms from me would be that pulling items in with the mousewheel felt a little clunky to me and the music could have been a tad more varied

I would have also wished for the Objects to effect the physics of the other ships too - E.g me placing a cannon on their right side would send them teetering right instead of falling through their hulls..

Otherwise the game was incredibly fun and really stayed true to the theme!

Bring us food JAMes! by Willisika 2017-12-18T23:48:16Z

Hey! It was great playing as the butler :yum:

The controls were fair and making the orders got pretty hard fast! This has real charm!

Screenshot_23.png

The only problem I really found was the woman with the brown hair was really hard to see and she got me :sob: "blent in like camouflage" lol

Something to make the controls abit more intuitive would be that instead of using E to drop plates and answer people's orders - instead double tapping in the direction that the objective is (with the plate or without) (AA, WW, DD, SS etc) would make it that bit more faster to speed through the game and removes a level of unncessary complexity. (With the menu the Enter Button would be better than E for most people)

Other than that - It was great fun to play  I was surprised I got up to where I did!!

Thanks for popping on stream too

Noisy Thief by CapitanLiteral 2017-12-05T04:39:47Z

Loved the N.W.A reference on the Walkie Talkies had me in stitches!

The controls took abit to learn, although when I figured out how to use them I was successful in getting all the 3 pieces out of the museum using the help of the Walkie Talkie to get the painting out of the final room.

Great game, great theme - Made me feel like a real noisy thief! :yum:

Computer-Man RPG by Wolfo 2017-12-05T18:28:54Z

Great gane in terms of staying true to the theme!

I learnt how to play the game very quickly just from playing

Minor criticism was the audio was abit samey here and there but it stayed true to the computer/digital mood you brought around.

Suggested feature to make the game abit more fun would be that when you predict the enemy's move and it removes 3 of the tiles on your side, build up a special meter to do a special attack of some kind that would add lots of tiles to the enemy side or remove tiles from your side.

Had alot of fun anyway, cheers

Space Dungeon by bbaf 2017-12-15T23:33:55Z

Hey I streamed your game last night, and I would love to give my two cents :yum:

It's great seeing a 3D Bullet Hell, I really think theres way too many 2D ones

Some quick hotfixes that would really help the game would be having the HP as bars at the top - It was hard to keep track with the bullets everywhere and the Boss HP was even harder (doesn't even have to be that - maybe change colour from light to dark, opaque to transparent) would really help give the user some feedback from the game.

A feature this game would be great having would be upgrades, either given from the boxes or frfom beating the bosses - maybe to improve my shot, maybe to duplicate my characters.

Challenging, but I had fun playing! So great work :yum: just needs a tad bit more polish!

Mine Games by danman113 2017-12-07T07:23:28Z

Wow, great mechanic and interpretation on the theme!

I had genuine fun playing this, it was my kind of hard and I found like I was challenged to place and blow up my mines carefully

One thing I would add would be a few (not too many) pickups - maybe a shield to block one of the AI'S hits, maybe a couple of extra mine guns (3 mine, two mine etc) dropped on enemy kills? (pst survival mode)

A mission progress bar would be great too

Sometimes the AI at times glitches out and sticks to itself instead of coming directly to me, that needs a tweak

I felt like a mine boss playing so thanks!

Just Another Day by DraperDanMan 2017-12-05T15:55:30Z

Screenshot_6.png

Great game, really annoying phone calls and the beeps and annoying callers really stuck to the theme

Loved the rating system on the computer, that was incredibly innovative!

One thing I would add would be different shifts with the lines going back to blank again? It got way too much in the end (probably your intention) and I just had to quit :sob:

Cheers though, a very funny unique experience

caffeine trip by meadjix 2017-12-19T00:34:41Z

I played this on stream it was great fun lol :yum:

I loved the choice of the hipster dude and you were very creative with your levels!

Screenshot_24.png

Mind the logo, but I found a UI Glitch on stream with this lamp-post

For the post-jam version it would be great seeing more levels in the matrix world - The world design and moving platforms were brilliant to see and a nice boost of difficulty!

It would be great having some backstory on this guy - Why his world was turned into this apocolypse (maybe he works for a coffee company that opened a rift into the coffee dimension?) You have great scope for this!

Anyway it was great fun playing! Loved the trippy level you created, makes me crave for more... abit like coffee lol :yum: cheers!

Massive Heist by Arkia 2017-12-05T21:22:01Z

Hey, great game had alot of fun playing and getting to the end!

Like how the gold weighs you down, sticks with the theme quite nicely

One suggestion for making gameplay abit more interesting is adding the guards follow a more complex route, in my opinion it was just too predictable.

Other than that, great job

BadChristmas by BobStopka 2017-12-05T22:59:50Z

Nice game, artwork was fun and I liked the christmas theme

I liked how you could shovel your own snowballs and the throw mechanic was clean.

My criticism would be the audio was abit underwhelming, the footsteps were loud and the snowballs didn't make a noise on contact of an enemy so I didn't know if I was doing damage or not :sob:

Overall though great idea, just needs abit more work in the audio department :yum:

"Savior" by AnnaAD 2017-12-17T15:03:19Z

I played your game on stream last night! It was pretty fun!

The angry blobs looked really funny and I loved how the humans came around the campfire

Some fixes I would add would be that the blob things were abit too overwhelming - High health, alot of them didn't really give me much of a chance to learn how to feed people - Maybe have different sizes with different health (colours, etc)

The people I think should have been able to fend for themselves, I would have loved for this game to be about shooing away the unarmed useless human and having a full squad of heavily armoured soliders around my camp taking out those blobs while I fetch food!

Something I would add to make this game really fun would be a crafting system - Maybe kit out some of the people around the camp with makeshift weapons or make an infinite food source e.g a farm

Great concept - It was fun to play and has great potential  good job!!

Khali by BouyertheDestroyer 2017-12-05T06:20:36Z

Absolute gem of a game, I love the animared cutscenes, the fact that you can throw your fans and trash cans around and how you lose health if the fans ask you for an autograph.

I made it to level 3 where it was too hard to continue for me

One thing I would wish is if the trashcans and throwing fans at other fans would knock them out!

Other than that, great game!

Sushi Secret by RainbowJam 2017-12-07T09:25:55Z

Hilarious and fun twist in the game, and a well deserved stab at the controversy.

Maybe add an element where it's obvious that I can pick up the item (like a glow on the outside) as I had trouble clicking on the hitbox of some of the items in the game.

Cheers anyway had alot of fun in game, and my sides were splitting at the secret :yum:

Too much money earning simulator by FancyReckless 2017-12-15T22:54:33Z

Hey! Thanks for letting me play your game on stream! I had great fun playing, although it took me a while to get the ending as you saw

I loved the fact that not managing the log factories caused them to "upgrade" - usually a good thing in games but in this one too much money is pretty bad hence the theme.

One problem would be it was a little heavy on the clicking - Maybe holdng down the mouse would invest fast into the ground? Or quickly drain the cash from the buildings as it does get abit too much.

Some additional features I would add would be different endings - Maybe a courthouse ending that passes an Eco Law bill telling the woodcutters to go away - I don't think that would be too hard either!

Greatly executed, great game - It was very fun!

Squire! Where's My Sword?! by Magnega 2017-12-05T18:47:41Z

Absoulte gem of a game! A pleasure to play!

Just wish that collecting the gold could have effected more e.g Upgrading Conveyor Speed / Hotbuying items such as potions and shields

Plays well, graphics are hilarious and fit the mood of the game brilliantly!

Cheers!

Feature Creep by Garur 2017-12-05T21:47:08Z

Interesting game, nicely tailored to the theme and very funny

Same problem as @elendow with falling in the pit

Game can be expanded in many ways with a theme as broad as feature creep :yum:

Great job, very humerous and very fun to play!

Corporate Quandary by Ebot102 2017-12-05T05:11:34Z

Haha great game,

I loved the money gun you could shoot at the zombies with and how they drop briefcases of money to pick up to improve the score

The 3D Models were good and everything was immidiately obvious to me while playing

Controls were fluid and great, I knew exactly how to play and what I was meant to be shooting at

One annoyance I felt though was with the zombie bodies having a physical force stopping me from going over them, I don't know if this was intentional but it made it hard for me to pick up the money and increase my score

Nevertheless was a very fun experience!

Super Wall Paint! by beepyeah 2017-12-15T23:15:14Z

Hey! Great game I played it on stream last night

I loved the retro "CARTRIDGE" feel to it, and the music was just right

The game, although I only got to the 3rd brush - Played very right and it was on my own doing that I couldn't make it past - Very fun and very fair!

One thing I would do would be to divide the game up into stages, with codes in between - each new stage having a different brush, a bigger brush, lots of huge brushes?

Great game anyway! A real treat for me to play

Open the Moon Gate by professor 2017-12-19T00:10:15Z

Hey I played this on stream this was really fun!

I loved creating and sucking in the purple crystals to make my moons - and protecting them from the toxic entities!

Something I would consider for added difficulty would be that your hook can suck in the toxins if you're not careful where you launch it!

For a post jam version - I would be cool to see the toxins sticking to each other making a harder to kill entity (from 1 hit to 4 hits to 8 hits etc) 1+1 = 2 1+1 = 2 2+2 = 4 etc. It would just be cool to see more toxins and these ones could be a bigger threat to earth and the moons :yum: Albeit slower!

Other than that, the music was amazing and it was incredibly satisfying creating the moon gate!! and building up my moons into super moons! :yum:

United Parcel Force by Beard or Die 2017-12-18T01:07:20Z

Hey I played this on stream - It was really funny! :yum:

The box physics and the sound effects were quality - Although they did glitch through the truck it did give me a great laugh!

I'm not going to comment on gameplay but I have a few suggestions as you are making this into a proper post-jam version

The wheels on the truck I noticed didn't animate to roll when I saw them - This is really nit-picky although I did notice it quite instantly, I'm sure that that wouldn't be too hard to implement?

For turning this into a game, with the round system - it would be great having a UI with the amount of boxes that need sorting and scanning and having multiple cameras in locations within the warehouse (as to which the player can warp to) - Hovering over boxes would highlight them as to indicicate the player can pick them up. These would be marked (could be rotated maybe with different codes/numbers E.G N01 needs to go in Section N, Rack 1 etc. etc.) This could be timed? With a round system it could go back if you fail to pack the boxes in time in order to keep up with the "christmas rush"

This could - If you really were up for the challenge it would definately be a really fun VR game idea!

Sorry I might have blabbed on abit - and you may have other ideas for the game in the encorporation of mechanics but this has great potential! you obviously have great humour too so make sure that works it's way into the game! :yum:

Cheers for the play anyway! :yum: It looks like you've learnt alot during your LD which is great to hear

SHROOOMS by theloneplant 2017-12-16T01:38:47Z

Played this on my stream last night - It was great fun and I really enjoyed it :yum:

Graphics hit me hard as earthbound/undertale style and I loved the cheeky little kid eating the mushrooms and getting more and more hallucinated

Maybe (purely my opinion) the slingshot should have a move and shoot option with a massive reduction in accuracy? That would get me out of a few sticky situations where accuracy isn't important and it gives me more of an option with stay/move

I loved the mushrooms - they looked really funny hallucinated, maybe add a few more coloured mushrooms with different effects? white are ok, red hallucinate bad, blue etc etc (gives the player an excuse to research)

Great game! Really great actually!! Hope the feedback helps if you take this post-jam!

Get to the CHOPPA! by Girts Kesteris 2017-12-05T16:37:47Z

Screenshot_7.png

Very funny game - Sounded like you had a great time making it especially with the Audio!! :yum:

Worth playing to the end, the helicopter sound had me in stitches when I first heard it

Gun fires OK the damage to kill the enemies was fair.

Problems for me would be the lack of enemy types and the camera angles juttered at times which felt un-natural and made it hard to move around.

It was also hard to extract the nicolas' from earlier in the level as they do their own thing - maybe have arnie carry them to the chopper?

Great game nevertheless, GET TO THE CHOOPA

[duplicate post my bad :L]

Clumsy Paws by sovogirl 2017-12-05T15:29:41Z

Very funny game, would be a great addition to mobile!

I loved the variety of items on the shelves and the cats looked adorable even though they're very mischievous! :yum:

One fix I would recommend for the hitbox leniency issue other commentors were having, is that you could easily make it so on hovering over the falling object there would be a golden "shine" to it to give the player the indication that they are tapping in the right place!

Other than that, I had great fun with your game! Cheers!

Five Star Dining by arcadia 2017-12-14T23:38:53Z

Hey! Had huge fun streaming your game! Got up to 348 reviews!

I loved the fact that there were an assortment of commands to do to clean the tables, get the check books and serve the 4 kinds of food

One issue was clicking on the people, maybe highlighting the people when I hover over them would give me the visual feedback I need to know where I was clicking.

A feature I would add to spice up the gameplay would be to have some meals that mix colours e.g Red + Blue = Purple Meal (Mixing colours etc)

Great game anyway! Nicely polished and had a great time streaming cheers

Video Games by Bastienre4 2017-12-07T09:17:10Z

Great game with a nerve-racking multitasking element to it!

I wasn't too good :sob: But this game is very well polished and it was all on me, maybe with abit more practice I could master it!

Tutorial was great for learning the mechanics so up's on that.

I wouldn't know what else to add/criticise :yum: you've made a great game on this site!

Cheers!

Coffee Run by Canaha 2017-12-05T05:40:38Z

Engaging game that gets harder and harder the more coffee you have hence the theme

I loved the inclusion of alchohol vs coffee (it's just like real life :yum:)

and the barrels were a perfect size not to be too hard to jump over on a major coffee overdose

However, it was a little too slow at the start which discouraged me from doing a replay

Overall, Great game! - has the potential to be quite addictive actually, just needs abit of speed at the start to get the gameplay flowing.

Too Many Cooks by Liz Izatt 2017-12-14T23:28:36Z

Hey I streamed your game last night, it was amazing fun!

I loved the flamethrower and how the screen gets spammed with cooks - It lagged in just the right way for me

I think I got 1000+ on my score!

Some stuff to add (to this masterpiece) would be some more complimentary weapons (e.g nukes) that would clean the screen and reset the spawn rate for the cooks - abit like COD Zombies to even out the playtime and the lag

Other than that.. Well, this experience really did make me abit insane :yum:

Drink Or Die by xujiangjiang 2017-12-17T22:58:53Z

Hey! I played your game on stream, it was really fun :yum:

I loved the effects of the drink on the dude, the messed up controls and the visual blur made me feel like a proper drunk

The rock and banana traps gave added difficulty too although the banana let me boundry break :yum:

It would have been cool to see the drinks raised above the ground and glowing, it wasn't too obvious where they were but maybe that was a design decision!

A feature I would add to make the game more fun would be for the people to interact with you and tilt their heads going "hm.. are you ok sir?" I liked to see them move around but it would have been funny to interact with them!

Other than that, the gameplay was funny and I had great fun  cheers!

Whale Whale Whale by Spelkollektivet 2017-12-18T00:27:26Z

Hey I streamed this! A very interesting concept :yum:

I'm very impressed how you incorporated a proper dictionary into the game and the character was very loveable!

One feature I would have liked would be that larger words would pull in the fish more and the progress bar of each fish would be displayed - It was just random word guessing otherwise hoping it reels in :sob:

I wasn't sure how I could interact with the shop either.. I tried to sell my mudskipper but I couldn't do anything (Not sure if it was implemented yet )

Anyway, this has great potential - Really great having that dictionary in there and I had fun guessing big words I knew :yum:

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Doki Doki no Artichokie by Jezzamon 2018-12-31T17:59:16Z

Hey nice game, I played this on my stream!

I like how you did the sacrifice mechanic, it had great implementation and really fit with the theme!

Untitled.png

The mushrooom guys were pretty cool too! :yum:

A quick change I would add would be more detailed powerup images or even text - It was hard understanding what each did until I already made the decision.

For a more long term update, different map variation/s could be nice - Seeing green all the time did get a little stale, although maybe that would have been too much for the scope of the jam.

From us at [Whales and Games](https://twitter.com/WhalesAndGames) thanks for the game, it was a great play

Demon Queen's Possessions by joh 2018-12-09T19:29:00Z

Wow this was a great game - Honestly had a blast playing!

I loved how you encorporated the sacrifice mechanic into the game, and all the different creatures having different abilities.. It's really well thought out and interesting!

Untitled.png

Managed to get to level 14 in my multiple runs - But I could easily play on and get a higher score :yum:

For a quick improvement on the game, possibly having different scenery would be better - just going on the single grass and dirt track did get a little stale, these maybe could be dependant on what creatures spawn? Mountains for Goblins, Castle Town for Knights and Guards etc?

For a bigger update, it would be cool to some cosmetic choice for the witch. It would be fun getting achievement checkpoints such as 5, 10, 15 etc and getting a new hat for her to wear :yum:

Regardless, big thanks from [our team](https://discordapp.com/invite/whalesandgames), you've made a game really worth playing!

Sacrificial Idiots by Fred Aberg 2018-12-09T17:50:08Z

Hey, great entry - This was a pretty fun game to play!

I loved managing the food bars - As well as picking who to get rid of, depending on how much food they had - it was pretty chaotic and fitting of the "sacrifices have to be made" theme!

Screenshot_6.jpg

I finally died on day 97 with the "get rid of the hungry people" tactic :yum:

For how to improve the game slightly, maybe having a list of the people who have died? It would be funny to see how many people I went through and sacrificed to keep "the group" alive

With expanding it further, giving visible effects of health and hunger to each of the characters would have really been good for game polish, stuff like them looking worse for wear when they're really low - (it was also make it easier to know which ones to sacrifice :smirk:)

It would have been neat with a "heal" mechanic too similar to the "feed" one by using a medicine resource - This would be an improvement on the original system of saying "You found a medkit" and applying it when it could actually instead be individually used and ransacked by bandits! :house_abandoned:

Along with [my team](https://discordapp.com/invite/whalesandgames) thank you for making this! It's a really good game

We Were 5 by Samusoidal 2018-12-31T17:24:03Z

Hey I played this on stream it was really fun!

The story and atmosphere was amazing, and oh man - The guitar riff when the beast comes was insanely scary :open_mouth:

It's very well made, and the pictures were not too intrusive and just added to the text adventure experience.

Untitled.png

One thing I would add would be a couple of more actions to choose between the 5 people, mostly it just boiled down to 2 actions even though there were 5 people with 5 potential outcomes (Probably scope) :yum:

Screenshot_1.jpg

Screenshot_3.jpg

For longer term, the story could be easily expanded to have creepier consequences for your sacrifices - Showing dismembered parts of fellow team members for example..

Either way, honestly a pleasure to play, from my team at [Whales and Games](https://discordapp.com/invite/whalesandgames) thank you for a great experience!

Death and Taxes (you can't escape) by dreadzilla 2018-12-08T00:48:29Z

Hey great game - I had a blast playing it!

I loved the zombie enemies and the wall climb ability, they were really cool!

Also great interpretation of the 'Sacrifices must be made' theme.

zombie.jpg

In terms of how the game could be updated, it would be nice to possibly have more obstacles which would try to stop you - Maybe giant zombie hands coming up from the ground? Zombie goo dripping down?

With longer development goals, the story could be expanded to encorporate the story of death and taxes more, as well as the addition of more zombies along the way. Maybe with we could see the actual tax man? :moneybag:

From [my team](https://discordapp.com/invite/whalesandgames) thank you for making this game - It was a pleasure to play and I wish you the best in further development!

Elektrix by GameWolves 2018-12-31T16:36:07Z

Hey nice game, I played in my stream :open_mouth:

I liked shooting the ghosts, and the enviroment was really spooky!

Untitled.png

During the playthrough I got abit confused on what to do, so I just shot ghosts sorry

A possible quick fix would be highlighting that I needed to find the battery in game, so I could have understood what to do easier - although I should have just read the description more closely :sob:

For a bigger update, possibly having more mecahnics that use electricity, a dash or maybe even charging up a shot to fire (big radius, piercing etc) :yum:

From us at [Whale and Games](https://discordapp.com/invite/whalesandgames) thanks for making this game, it was fun!

The lesser teeth, the better you'll breathe by Atelier Duchu 2018-12-31T19:59:54Z

Hey I just played the game, it's pretty interesting

Screenshot_4.jpg

The asylum concept was really cool, and I loved the vibe!

Picking to sacrifice movement keys was a really interesting concept, great for the theme!

A quick fix I would add though would be some kind of marker to show how close you are to finishing?

As for a bigger update, having animations such as teeth being pulled out could add alot more polish to the game :yum:

From us at [Whales and Games](https://twitter.com/WhalesAndGames) Thanks for a fun entry!

SacrificeSimulator2018 by Stames 2018-12-12T19:22:59Z

Hey, great game just had a play!

I loved the combination mechanic, it was unique using the finite state machines for the sacrifice recipes!

Also the devil design kind of reminded me of nigel thornberry :yum:

Screenshot_9.jpg the_wild_thornberrys.nigel_thornberry.jpg

Screenshot_8.jpg

My highest score was 180 on Easy mode

One quick improvement for the game would be possibly some kind of score screen? It was pretty jarring going straight to the main menu when I died and not seeing my score.

For a bigger update, possibly having more indication of what elements attack each other - such as creating the opposite of what creature represents, war for the dove.. demon for the angel.. reaper for the child? It would make more sense than electricity, fireball and poison but maybe that's just me?

Thanks for making this game, and on behalf of [my team](https://discordapp.com/invite/whalesandgames) thank you for making this, it was fun!

In the name of Spaghetti by Link 2018-12-05T21:17:49Z

oof.jpg

Hey, great game! Had a great time trying to win my soul back from the Spaghetti Monster!

I loved the stealth mechanics with the red death tiles, and great work on getting them to chase you at the end - it was really funny and scary at the same time as they came in on you.

One thing that could be improved for flavour would be some more dialogue from the Spaghetti Monster, it could be a few bits of random dialogue from him between picking levels, this would be great for world-feel.

For future development, maybe adding a few variation to the security types, different uniforms/faces graphically or maybe even walking patrols mechanically would go a long way to adding more variety to the game.

On [behalf of our team](https://discord.whalesandgames.com/) thank you for making this game it was a pleasure to play! :yum:

LD49 — Unstable

Wizard of Unstablely Place by terryg 2021-10-07T20:37:30Z

Hey!

I really liked this game, I love the mechanics of freezing platforms and it was a great match to the theme with unstable platforms :D

Untitled.png

Some of the levels required insane precision but it is good that you can restart from that specific level and didn't have to go all the way back.

I loved the music and art direction for this as well, it's really calming and it felt very surreal which is honestly great.

Thank you for this, I had a blast playing it!

RoboCompounds by kuggenhoffen 2021-10-14T23:51:48Z

Hey, this was a great concept for a game!

Untitled.png

I liked the physics of the bot they were really well made with how the bottles are stacked on the head with the release of spacebar they come crashing down!.

One thing I would add would be a small sfx like a whurr noise or a bottle noise when you release the bottle - that way it's easier for a player to understand they can drop bottles as it took me a little bit to figure this out.

Thanks for making this, I enjoyed playing around in this game!

Radioactive Guns 'n' Stuff by DriagonV 2021-10-13T18:30:02Z

Hey, this was a really fun game and the banana gun was awesome!

Untitled.png

I like that you get a different weapon each time you play, it really adds to the replayability.

One thing I would like to see more utilised is the bouncing of the projectile, it's really cool with it bouncing off the walls!

Maybe having some moving obstacles that go in and out of the map boundry with collision could make things more interesting?

I had a blast playing it though so thanks for making it!

Unstable Wizarding by Emty 2021-10-13T19:23:38Z

Hey, I really love this - the concept is fantastic.

Untitled.png

It was great exploring the rooms and finding the golden apple while surviving!

One thing I would add would possibly be some kind of powerup that would effect your magic - there are alot of fruit but it would be cool if one gives you an ability to conjure a massive fireball!

Thank you so much for making this though, I genuinely had a blast. (no pun intended )

Wind Rover by OminusGalaxy44 2021-10-13T19:41:27Z

Hey, this was a really addictive game and the music was honestly amazing.

Untitled.png

I love the RNG element of this, debris can come flying at you even when you think you have an amazing unbreakable spot!

One thing that could make the game more replayable would be reward unlocks on information levels which could be exchanged for skins for the bot?

Thanks so much for making this, it was really fun!

aaaaabbBBbABCSDgaw6stE_P! by sprunth 2021-10-13T18:55:02Z

Hey, this was such a fun experience!

Untitled.png

I love the developer dialog for this, it's so chaotic and fits the theme so well.

The idea is really solid as well with a minotaur just terrorising everything!!

The only thing I can really think of to improve it would be a moo sound now and then, just to add to the chaos.

Thanks so much for making this, it was a blast and it really made my day

Unstabled - Ludum Dare 49 by Reditect 2021-10-07T20:18:42Z

Fun little game once I got it to work with a nice twist on the theme (unstabled haha)

Screenshot_2.png

I managed to reach the lower platform by speeding with the horse (shift) and getting onto the cool procedurally generated mechanics that look incredibly interesting.

I liked the detail you put into the audio and assets it was really good for the mood of the game.

It was also nice to see on the roblox platform as well, with a few tweaks such as getting the levels to load, a scoreboard system and maybe some tiered rewards I can see this game easily being monetized on roblox.

Nicely done for a first jam you should be proud :)

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Game Jam the Game by Jacksendary 2018-05-15T10:54:34Z

Hey I played this on stream, I made my own game in it :yum:

I loved all the different options and the sliders, I was pretty impressed by the amount of genres and combinations after taking a peek at the cheat sheet after :v:

I didn't find any glaring issues on my playthrough - Would have been really cool seeing the shelf of previous games!

Thanks for making, had alot of fun!

[Web] Stealth Dance! by Linver 2018-05-15T00:44:40Z

Played this on steam, and pulling off a dance stealth game to this degree really has my hat off! :yum:

I loved the different colours to represent how heavy your dancing is - It didn't take long to learn, it was organic how to play once I got stuck in! :v:

As a small touch, maybe have the dancers around you look at you funny when you're not doing the correct dance - The bar at the top was enough for me but it's another layer of polish that would look great!

Honestly hard to nit-pick, this is a fantastic entry and I had great fun playing! :yum:

Love Love! Space Attack by Random-storykeeper 2018-05-15T00:36:42Z

Hey this was really fun on stream, great game!

Mixing the dating sim and space bullet hell genres is very unique, and it turned out very well! :yum:

It was quite punishing on the shooter side but I'm not too good at those, It felt pretty full on at the start for me to get into the swing of things.

Otherwise, honestly great entry - Really bamboozled me with the face wasn't expecting that!

Mortal by deathray 2018-05-15T00:06:38Z

Played this on stream, very interesting game and a unique combination of themes :yum:

I played one life, but it was a life well spent

I honestly love the simplicity of it, and there was nothing really major to nitpick on other than what others have said about different pictures for between the lifestages and events etc.

Had a blast - Thanks for making this game!

Harvest Doom by Fiote 2018-05-15T01:02:34Z

I played this on stream - It was really fun!

I loved the mix of farming and tower defence, and it played incredibly well :yum:

Probably the only nitpick I have would walking into my towers damaged them, I kept unintentionally doing this throughout my playthrough, probably a delete tool would be better suited for the task or an option to turn it on or off.

Other than that, great game - really enjoyed it

Roulette Knight by Finlal 2018-05-08T22:34:39Z

Hey! I played this on stream it was really great! :open_mouth:

I loved the mechanic of using a medieval rpg with russian roulette, genius combination of themes.

The skill trees and the level of detail and polish in the inventory, map and skill trees blew my mind. :open_mouth:

One thing that I found pretty unforgiving was that attaching new HP+ helmets doesn't add the extra hp on top of your character but just increases the max health.

Other than that, wow again.. - Had immense fun thank you for making it!

Ritoru Ponpon no inu by Steing 2018-05-08T15:11:04Z

I played this on my stream and it was a really great fun! :yum:

Mixing the bullet hell and puzzle games together in a cute enviorment was a great combination and really played well!

I loved strategising just where to put the path on trial/error and it kept me playing for ages

One thing I would add would be a level selection menu to easily navigate through which levels you want to play and show how much more of the game is left!

Other than that, brilliant and well polished game! A pleasure to play!

Wizsnooks by kroltan 2018-05-15T02:38:48Z

Another successful ludum dare title - Great job guys!

Loved this one, a great combination of pool and roguelite - With great polish as expected from you lot at whales and games :yum:

Plinking those balls into those pockets was so satisfying and waltzing around the table decked out with my selfie stick was a great fun!

The characters had alot of thought and personality they really meshed together, I loved the music and SFX too, expertly chosen and was very welcome with the theme and mood of the game!

Just a few nitpicks I will share  One thing that I did feel was pretty punishing was the holes off screen - It would be great to have a minimap not only for this but for seeing where the last mob is to track them down and put them in the hole! :v:

The dragon is abit harsh for a lower geared character, often I would just force kill myself as there would be no way I could progress with the damage sustained from it.

Other than that.. Wow, Honestly you guys have excelled and should be proud of what you've made this jam :yum:

Evil Bunny by PonchoGuy 2018-04-24T23:53:41Z

@adrien-dittrick My mistake! Just noticed thanks!

Evil Bunny by PonchoGuy 2018-05-07T02:35:26Z

@adrien-dittrick Just set up the HTML5  Took abit to learn, but it's finally here :v:

Snack & Slash by Gumboot 2018-05-08T16:34:31Z

I played this on stream! It was a pleasure to play, and a great experience!

I loved the art style, that steak looked so cute! Plus the giant utensils were really fun!

One thing I would add would be splitting the sections up into levels, it was alot to take in at the start.

Another thing which is basically just polish is a resteraunt to the other side of the dishes, probably with simple ai/customers and waiters so I feel my work getting the dish cut up/scooped up can be seen :yum:

A real treat to play, you should be proud

Drive Threw by Zachary Burkett 2018-05-14T22:29:08Z

Hey! Thanks for joining the stream this was great to play

I loved the mechanics of driving and cooking, literally never been done before :yum:

One thing I noticed was that it was hard to stack the burger parts together in the station and you couldn't easily remove the parts once they were added, making it a tad bit frustrating.

Also I kept running over the customers, I don't know if this is intentional but it would be better if they moved towards the car and walked beside it - Probably for a later stretch goal though

Other than that, honestly unique and great title! thanks for making it!

Someone Is Wrong On The Internet by huminaboz 2018-05-15T01:57:11Z

Hey I played this on stream, it was really great!

I honestly thought I was in for an easy ride at the start but the difficulty quickly ramped up and swept me off my feet :yum:

One thing I would mention was that I did get repeats here and there from the answers but that's really inevitable from the ludum dare time constraints.

Other than that, played so well and it was SO POLISHED - I was glued the entire time

Roundabout: ~ Roguelike & Rythm ~ Trading Bard Game by Gustavo Manchae 2018-05-15T01:36:30Z

Wow! Thanks for joining the stream, it was great having you on! :yum:

Where do I start? The gameplay was really fresh with the cards and roguelike genre, the sfx was so fitting and all this set with lovable characters and enemies

There was that one glitch with the dead solo but it was really funny!

A cool idea for further development would be that gold could be got through busking with the band :yum: Or the enemies die and leave some 'tips' for their good performance haha

But yeah - Honestly a pleasure to play, I wish you the best for the road ahead!

Cardcade by Simon Rahnasto 2018-05-08T16:46:45Z

Wow, thanks for joining me on the stream  I was addicted from the start

Man what can I say, the cards were great for strategic planning, the vocals were grand on picking the cards. A real pleasure to play.

As for something I would add, it would be better if the cards were put on a pedestal and can be picked up instead of just being given to you straight after the room - I sometimes missed what I got when I was running through

Something if this is further developed would be special rooms, probably something fitting with the theme would be a card claw machine :yum:

Other than that, a great play! I had alot of fun playing your game!

Trebek's Alien RoundUp by Escape 2018-05-14T22:21:32Z

Hey I played this on stream, it was great!

Really great humour in this one, and it has the makings of a great story, I was pretty invested!

One thing I would note would be that the shooting sound was a bit too loud and startled me at the start!

Other than than that, great entry thanks for making it!

Crystal Turrets by GhostRunners25 2018-05-08T15:22:37Z

Hey, I played this on stream and it was really fun!

I loved the turret placing mechanic and protecting the crystal!

One thing that I would be zombie damage to the player, as he could literally walk up to the enemy portal and put turrets down there  - Might even make the game abit harder as you need to get behind the turrets to progress!

Possibly some kind of upgrades scattered throughout the map - I saw you built a huge open map but there's little to be seen other than the enemy portal.

Something funny too could be an off switch for the portal that you could pull to win the game :smirk: But that's just me..

Great game! It has alot of potential to be very fun with a few more mechanic/difficultly tweaks!

Super Chess Card Wars by Jamblefoot 2018-05-08T22:04:44Z

Thanks for joining the stream :yum: Although it was just me it was pretty solid fun!

I loved the art style of the game, in a kind of zany way - and the combat mechanics definately have potential

One thing I would add would be a kind of video gifs explaining the mechanics of the game and how they play out - I think then that could set the stage into running the player quickly through how to play

A stretch goal would be combos you can achieve with the cards, with these incoropoated with the showcase gifs of course.

I ran into that infinite loop glitch on stream but hopefully this will help further flesh out the game into something amazing

Thanks for making this! A pleasure to play! :yum:

Shuffle Climber by miroky 2018-05-08T17:22:10Z

Hey! This was a great play on stream thanks for joining

It was quite hectic managing and strategising the cards so you have enough top jump up and navigate the obstacles

I loved how well crafted the scrolling up climber genre and the card system was together, really worked well!

Nothing else I can really suggest other than a local/global leaderboard!

Thanks, and best on futher development

clickjumper by Memedev0 2018-05-15T01:18:04Z

Thanks for joining the stream! I loved playing your game

I loved the challenge and I got past all the sneaky tricks you layed out! :yum:

I love the simplicity of it so I wouldn't know what else to add, maybe some more trippy backgrounds and more traps/mechanics if you plan more levels?

I loved it, honestly great entry good job!

Asimov's Breakout by Technophage 2018-05-14T22:47:06Z

Hey! Thanks for joining my stream, It was great playing your game

Honestly has the potential for a great game, loved the mechanic of the humans shouting at the robots to work and having the facilities with different purposes.

I ran into quite a few glitches on stream :yum: but the main one of note would be the placing of buildings near the outside wall - A gap would be a huge deal better

As for something that would be a stretch goal for this if you continue development, it would be better having the humans program the robots into doing menial human work - e.g scrubbing floors/no income if they catch your robots misbehaving, and it would be a matter of keeping some robots entertaining the humans while others secretly work on sentience.

Other than that, best of luck if you further develop  Had a great time playing nevertheless!

Puzzle Tower by NilC 2018-05-08T15:01:42Z

Hey great game @nilc thanks for joining my stream

I loved how you mixed the two gameplay mechanics together, it really felt like they belong together and was a great experience to play!

I got the mechanics pretty fast when I started clicking on the pipes, although your mini tutorial in the game description helped too

One thing I would add to the game would be obviously more levels :yum: But maybe some kind of level / star system which would give you stars depending on level completion.. E.g Base Full Health = 3 stars, Base More Than Half = 2 Stars, Base Less Than Half = 1 Star

I could really see this as a fun web game on kongregate/newgrounds etc.

Keep up the good work and development!

Bebop's Breakout! by don.shinski 2018-05-14T23:50:03Z

I played this on stream! Was great fun :yum:

Honestly loved the SFX - Top notch and the using the text adventure part was interesting :yum:

One thing I would add is a backspace for the ingame keyboard, I messed up spelling so much in the game and having to completely redo and clear it was a pain :sob:

Other than that, honestly has potential and I was pretty invested to carry on! Keep up the development!

RoadRover by Bisher.d790 2018-05-08T17:41:16Z

Woah, what a great game - It looked absolutely great on stream!

I loved how hectic the gameplay was, survive survive suvive! The lights shining from the bomb cars were a great touch too and really made it scary seeing them come.

One thing I found was that it would lag at times, maybe have a smaller car limit to stop this?

Possibly a charging peroid on how many energy bolts the car can fire, I could just spam it to win.

Other than that, an excellent play!

text adventure platformer by Rs11s21n 2018-05-08T17:50:51Z

Hey! Thanks for joining me on stream  Was a pleasure playing your game!

Man it was really funny when the guy fell through the chat box and the tutorial had alot of thought into it!

Definately has the capacity to have a proper story, maybe a detective game where you have to find clues in a crime scene?

Possibly the addition of a kind of inventory system to keep track and use items, although this is a stretch goal :yum:

Again, it was a great play and I wish you the best on further development - It looks great!

Rackety Rekt by FlatTutorials 2018-05-08T22:47:42Z

I played this at the end of my stream, it was an incredibly fun!

The sound effects were glorious and I had great fun getting the collectables and hitting people with the racket!

One thing I would add would be a better way of hitting balls back - Maybe have them target the nearest mob towards you? It would have been cool hitting them back and I tried with the ball machine but it just ended up killing me :sob:

Other than that, solid game! Wish I had more time to play, it was very fun!

For The Dog by theomaniacal 2018-05-08T22:10:06Z

I played this on stream! Great game, with an interesting take on the two themes.

I loved the shooting the ground mechanic, the levels quickly eased me in as it was a rush to reunite at the end

One thing I would add would be the addition of traps, just having the mobs of people got tiring the eye after a while and it would be great to see different enemies/hazards to negotiate.

A stretch goal would be a level select screen for each levels just in case I wanted to replay a section easily and track progress.

But wow, what a great experience - Thank you for making this game!

Soccer Slasher by Supernapie 2018-05-14T23:32:41Z

Played this on steam, such a satisfying game!

A great mix of sports and hack and slash, very well executed and honestly had a blast :yum:

Probably some kind of running option with shift would be pretty neat for abit of a boost - Instinctively went for it but it wasn't there

Other than that, a great game! Wish you the best on further development thanks for making it!
