I love this game so much! It's hilarious and very fun. I feels so simple, but it's very challenging. I've only gotten a high score of 19 which still puts me in last. Lol.
great music and graphics and characters!!! but I could only figure out how to drink water - couldn't figure out how to eat a hot dog.
One of the best games I've played so far!!!! I loved the ducks, I loved the art, I loved everything! I got 29 dogs in the end. Nice game!!!
I was a little confused about the controls at first, but once I realized who I was controlling and that I had to use the arrow keys to eat the hot dogs it made a bit more sense.
I couldn't figure out how to prevent my guy from throwing up, though. I saw that the little modifiers popped up, but I wasn't sure what they meant and what I was supposed to do to prevent anything bad from happening -- even if I stopped eating, my guy would still throw up for some reason.
Looks sooo goooood! It's quite challenging but it's definitely something you can play mindlessly for a while and git gud at. Pretty damn good overall :blush:

Great game with a great interpretation of the theme
I was immediately impressed by the menu screen with the duck and it's tutorial that taught a complex game simply.
The eating noises were spot on, the woman yelling "Go Go Go" and the small and skinny guy having the high record were enough for me to score so highly on humour.
Very Innovative, Great Fun!
One idea I would suggest is carrying the humour throughout even the tutorial, e.g have a grandpa next to your character while you're trying to learn the controls and where it's said "eat 5 hotdogs" add on "oh don't worry about him he'll never finish" haha

Wow this is amazing, great work! Aside from the beautiful graphics and the intuitive controls, this game is incredibly fun to play. I must have played at least 10 times. The one thing that seemed like it might need a bit tweaking was that you could complete the sweat wiping so fast by spamming, and also if you have a dizzy challenge right after a sweat one there was a good chance you lose it because you would be holding a or d, a buffer there might of helped. Never the lest amazing job!!! My Highscore is 55 and im pretty happy with that right now, ill come back later so see if anyone passed me up :)
Love the game, but you are supposed to opt-out of audio since you used music that wasn't made for the competition.

Really fun game! I played around 6 or 7 times, and it really felt like I was improving each run through. In the end I managed to get 50. I have a feeling this would be really easy coop though, so I might come back later and try and break the leader board through that :) Overall, really well done, had a great time.
Really great execution. I think the controls were a bit much...or maybe flash up the controls/steps they need to do when they need to do it.
The controls are absolutely fantastic, I was grinning during the tutorial :D Loved it.

I had a lot of fun with this one! Even the tutorials were fun! I love how you used the theme and it went great with the controls scheme. I got on the leaderboards so maybe I'll come back too see if I can do better.
Man that was awesome, 20... Some people on the high score are nuts! Unless they are using macros heh Had a weird play-though where i couldn't t pick up the glass, happened only in one play-though not sure if bug :P

this very genius,no matter the mechanic or the animation,they all wonderful enough and vivid to touch the player. espically the design for the effect of failed-operation，impressive main-menu,friendly tutorial. and there is also a great atmosphere.also i think,maybe,if there are more sound-effect from the crowd when the match running,the experience may more awesome! cheers
Weird but hilarious. Way harder than it seemed at first. Simple enough to get a good rhythm going, but hard enough that you can't just play mindlessly. Great job!
That was fun, I would like to give you 6 stars on fun :D My only note is that I dont see a reason why I get more than one drink UI bar. All I did befor that was drinking ... feels wrong. Anyway, best game so far on my list!
Nice game and a great idea.
Was really fun to play it. The Music is really fancy and catchy and the game mechanics are soo complex. Its really hard to coordinate all together.

Very well done game! Music was great, the animations were smooth and generally great, and the mechanics were simple but hard. The only change I would make is to make it so you cannot drink and eat at the same time.
I really loved this game. The graphics were excellent and it was a blast figuring out the controls. A problem for me was that I would constantly get Dry Mouth procs one after another even while drinking. Maybe i'm just bad but that was my only issue.
I love it. The controls are simple but challenging, and the pixel art / animation is great. Made it to #6 on the leader boards at the time of posting. Great game!

This is a really nice entry. I think it will be one of the best, despite the relatively complicated controls. But i must say the controls do have a pattern :smile: The game is a great exercise in doing parallel activities.

I really liked how the keyboard control scheme was set out for this game, I actually remembered most of the actions after I did the tutorial. The graphics and animations were really neat too, especially the main menu!
Perhaps make the additional tasks (drinking, wiping sweats etc) slightly less frequent in order to allow the player to eat more hot dogs.
But overall, a really great game that felt well polished.

OMG, definitely my favourite LD 40 game so far. The gameplay, the humour, the graphics, the animations, it's just perfect!
I love the graphics and sound fx's it's so cute. But the game is pretty hard, I'm not so good at these kinds of games.

The game is well made. The art is lovely. Funny thing is that you can puke and drink awater at the same time! It gets pretty hard, cause I don't know what to do when meat sweats outside the tutorial. Good shit and keep it up :)

Like the look of this game, it really caught my attention and the "choppy" animation style suits it very well, very dynamic and expressive movements! Keeping track of the controls became a bit too much for me so I quit in frustration as I was trying to eat, wipe sweat and drink at the same time and mixing up all the keys totally =) Nice game though. Super cool with the people cheering on :)
Hahaha this is great! Loved the pixel art, the animations, the dialogues and god damn is this hard for me, I suck at multitasking :'D I think this would be a really, really fun multiplayer game!
Wonderful game and a superb interpretation of the theme. Love the fast-paced hectic controller-hell gameplay. Controlling your character feels just like learning an instrument, with the way you have to use both hands to play optimally and the online leaderboard makes you even more motived to play just one more round. The main menu is visually fantastic, but it might be helpful to include all the buttons on one screen, as it might be easy to miss the tutorial and you're probably not going to have a good time if you haven't played the tutorial. Definitely top-spot worthy.
EDIT: I've noticed the WASD keys sometimes stop responding entirely with seemingly no pattern or trigger.

Best game I've played so far from this jam. Got 90 points \o/ Your game is amazing! The only thing I think it could be improved was the tutorial: you could have explained when you have to hold or just press the keys, and also when you write key1+key2 , usually it means pressing the keys at the same time, but you meant pressing them in a sequence. Will definetly give you highest score though, congratulations!!

So much fun to play! It got really stressful keeping track of all the things to do over time but it was just as much fun at the same time! The art and animations in the game were fantastic and I loved the interactive tutorial. Great work!

Damn this insane! Saw this game at Elysia's stream and I needed to try this for myself! Good music, awesome visuals and my style of humor! This is a perfect LD-game. It's fast, funny and you get better at it every time you play it.
The controls are a bit finicky, but I guess thats on purpose.

This game is so damn addicting! I wasn't about to review it until I hit top 10 so thanks for making it truly competitive, and I finally get to live out my dreams of being a competitive eating champion hahaha
Honestly though, the art-style, music, sound effects, intuitive controls that are easy to learn yet challenging enough that they can trip you up when the prompts are hitting you one after the other, the people in the crowd, it's all amazing fun and even humorous! I will definitely be keeping this and playing it for years to come! I wanna hit #1 baby!!
My arms are exhausted too lol! For my placing run, I felt like I was playing Starcraft!!

& my ONLY gripe with the entire game was when Dizzy came after Meat Sweats, as there's a super good chance you're gonna fail it, but learning this, I would pay extra special attention to this detail and only tap daintily on any Meat Sweats prompt that came before Dizzy! :O Strategy!
Edit2: @kromeboy is 100% right; this would be an awesome party game to play with friends; both online, and locally with controller support (using face buttons for the hotdog arm and the d-pad for the other arm)
Edit3: I don't think my review communicated effectively just how much I admire the attention to detail in the art. From the title menu, all the way down to the leaderboard. I truly admire and appreciate this game.
Dude, this game had laughing from the start. I loved it (used to go watch the Nathan's Hot Dogs competitions). I can't really think of anything that would make this better. Good stuff! The combination of using wasd to mini game with your left hand while spamming arrow keys was so rewarding.

@THX1342 I just rebuilt and reuploaded the Linux build, in case Unity goofed. Unfortunately, we don't have a Linux box to test on right now, so we're trusting that Unity has done the right thing. What exactly is the problem you are having?
Played on Windows right now and I'm in awe! Absolutely fantastic! My favorite so far!
About Linux, it didn't seem line a linux binary file but a .exe which I couldn't execute. I'll try the new version as soon as I can. If there is still an issue I'll comment here

Hi there! Please delete 1st and 2nd scores on leaderboard... they were cheated. Overall this is great game with AWESOME graphics, gameplay, e.t.c. But with little security leaks on client side.
@Furka It's quite probable that the top score was using a macro, but 92 is certainly possible. We got 86, so I can definitely see with a bit of practice and some luck equaling or exceeding that score. But yeah, 117 is suspect. We might delete it in the future. And thanks for the feedback!
@furka Hey there. I'm the guy that made to the third place, and no, you don't have cheat to get these scores. If you are just joking I'm sorry, but I get the feeling you are not haha
If you want I'm pretty sure I can beat second place while streaming and recording my keyboard with a webcam

@settings Haha sorry lack of communication between me and my bro. I'm the other half of BrothersT and I deleted the scores you were talking about. One was 600+ so you were definitely right
@Furka @settings My brother just informed me that he already deleted the high scores Furka was talking about, but didn't say anything (bad him). They were 160 and 600ish (definitely suspect). Feel free to go for the high score again though, but only if you want to do it for fun :)

@brothersT hi, a friend of mine warned me about the highscore discussion here, so here I am. Me and a friend of mine wanted to know how much we could do if we did it in doubles, just for fun, so we did it, and got 117, did not even think it was possible to ask you guys to delete the highscore, but since it is, I would like to do so, and to apologize for any legitimacy questioning, it was most definitely not legit.
Very well done, nice original mechanic and even an online scoreboard! Not to mention a very fitting graphical style. Nice one!

Thanks for making this game! I had a lot of fun trying to beat my own score. After a few hours and really tired hand, I managed to score 124 points. I recorded it, so please don't ban me =) https://youtu.be/clKfl0phRuE Of course it doesn't prove anything, but it might at least show that scores around 130 or even 140 are humanly possible.
@marcoskwkm Holy crap! I am seriously impressed! :D Such consistency! Even using both hands at the start! smart! Reminds me of doing the intro of through the fire and flames on guitar hero with both hands on the frets. Thanks so much for recording it, I don’t think I would have believed it otherwise! :D

@marcoskwkm That's amazing! So crazy. You have some serious dedication sticking at it for that long. I apologise that we didn't get time to balance the gameplay a bit more before release. The random nature of the LH tasks means that, as far as I can tell, some runs are just doomed to fail (e.g. if you too many "Dizzy"s or even "Dry Mouth"s in a row). Or maybe you were able to keep up anyway :) Bravo!

I had a lot of fun playing this! The art was great, I liked the music, it was a novel idea, and was well executed! For some reason the menu was kind of laggy, but the actual game ran great. Other than that, I can't really think of anything else that could be done better. Good job!

Astonishing game. Perfect scope and very well polished. Art is great and is a heck of a load of fun to play. Unfortunately, i couldn't get past the 40 mark, i'm not coordinated enough :sweat_smile:. There was however just one instance where i got too dizzy without even realising. I believe the balance bar was cover by one of the other progress bars. But other than that, this is an amazing game. If you have the chance, please work on this game. You guys would be doing everyone a great service. Congratulations!

I've been playing a lot of games on this jam, and now that I'm checking this one, I think I've found my favorite. Everything from the presentation, sprites, sounds and gameplay is a thing to behold. It's just so very good, funny and ambitious.
The animations are outstanding. From the duck walking around to the people on the crowd. It's just as dynamic as the fast-paced action of the game itself. The controllers do look somewhat weird, but when in motion, they make perfect sense. It's a weird mix of time-management arcade action and I love it.
It's just incredible, and very tough. After a few rounds, I only managed to make it to 27, but it felt so great. I'd like to leave more substantial feedback about it, but it's one of those rare times that none come to mind. I like it all.

Man this game was so fun to play. I loved the huge skill ceiling, made me go back and play it several times. I thought I was good at execution but man some of those high scores are super impressive. One of the best games I played this jam.
