LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Permanence by stevenjmiller 2017-12-05T05:51:05Z

A beautiful game, polished with great graphics, sound design, music and mood, and of course the innovative concept of things staying the way you last saw them. I wonder why it wasn't submitted to the compo?

Permanence by stevenjmiller 2017-12-05T06:52:00Z

@stevenjmiller Oh it's showing up as compo now... I could have sworn it said jam before. Sorry if I got you worried!

Holiday Parking Panic! by FormalCloud 2017-12-05T04:30:57Z

Rainbow boost is awesome, and that green car is an absolute idiot.

In the Hall of the Swine King by josehzz 2017-12-05T05:27:26Z

I loved the aesthetic, everything in the game - music, sound, graphics - fit together perfectly. I quite enjoyed it :)

Sea Wars: Piratefront by Ogniok 2017-12-05T10:44:20Z

this game certainly gave me a sense of

ClickerVillage by Chao 2017-12-05T10:29:37Z

@aaforcebox what have you done

unipsychle by niksg 2017-12-05T04:35:35Z

Simple and fun, a great submission :)

Dog-Off! by BrothersT 2017-12-05T05:59:18Z

The controls are absolutely fantastic, I was grinning during the tutorial :D Loved it.

Edit: I played around with the game a little more and now I'm #1 with 285 ;)

Dog-Off! by BrothersT 2017-12-05T06:49:56Z

@BrothersT Actually, I just used a macro :P But now I'm curious about that pause glitch...

Dog-Off! by BrothersT 2017-12-05T07:31:23Z

@BrothersT yeah haha go ahead ;)

Sailor Wolf by Pashok 2017-12-05T09:07:36Z

A beautiful game, so relaxing c:

Mini Mod by Riker Greenslade 2017-12-05T04:05:29Z

Beautiful game - incredible graphics, great music and sound effects. Keyboard controls were quite strange though, and I couldn't really get used to them. I would have been more comfortable with wasd and mouse, and using shift to dash or something. Overall though, extremely impressive for 72 hours!

Don't Be Rash by Cosmic Adventure Squad 2017-12-05T03:39:58Z

Really polished, fits the theme perfectly, great graphics. Gameplay was fast paced and exciting. Overall a perfect game jam game!

Jump Plus by Lazy Goblins 2017-12-05T08:39:35Z

Interesting concept with great potential once it's explored more and fleshed out!

Zombie Game by Grant Sommer 2017-12-05T04:14:28Z

Played with a friend, agree with the person above - really impressed at a multiplayer game for a game jam! Didn't notice any lag at all, and we had a close battle with me winning on 2 health. Great potential with better graphics and I can see it being really fun with a bunch of people playing at once. Certainly got a sense of pride and achievement from this one.

Get in Shape by Prostone 2017-12-05T10:07:48Z

Great concept! It seems like something that would be perfect for a mobile game.

Fortress Escape by SpaceMonkey 2017-12-05T03:38:55Z

Pretty good for 72 hours, but in the first person part it kind of defeats the purpose if you have a jetpack and can leave the road ;)

Friends.OS by Rob White 2017-12-05T09:38:20Z

Really polished and on point. A unique and fun game.

Shoot and Die by LifeHack 2017-12-05T03:45:17Z

I thought being able to switch between first person and top down shooter was really unique and innovative, but it didn't really serve a purpose in the game. This has a lot of potential if that aspect is fleshed out!

Free to Play by Hooraygil 2017-12-05T03:38:03Z

Relevant and funny - I loved reading all the popups.

No Move No Die by ZhangZhibin 2017-12-05T03:37:25Z

Really well thought out puzzle game; the puzzles are challenging and interesting. Very cohesive aesthetic!

Knockback by Jay2645 2017-12-05T07:39:11Z

It seems like a hybrid between a brawl game and an fps game to me - I think it has a lot of potential in that aspect!

Knockback by Jay2645 2017-12-05T07:57:40Z

@Jay2645 Good luck! I've got this bookmarked, really interested to see where you take it c:

LD42 — Running out of space

Triage by Chao 2018-08-29T21:17:04Z

Hi @saoi-games

The sound is a combination of stock Foley from freesound.org that's been heavily edited in the various programs mentioned in the submission, and Foley I've recorded myself at home.

And thanks to everyone else that commented they liked the sound! It feels great to know that the hours I spent listening to people coughing their lungs out is appreciated <3

LD45 — Start with nothing

CosmiCraft 🌟 by Random-storykeeper 2019-10-16T12:44:26Z

Really fun game, I loved the way the music was layered in and out, even though it may have been a little rough around the edges sometimes. It would have been nice to have an indication that the player is in edit mode, but otherwise this is a beautifully crafted little game.

Survivor Slots by PeachTreeOath 2019-10-16T12:53:05Z

This is one of the most innovative games I've ever played.

The Idea Explorer by Sebastian-M 2019-10-18T04:20:26Z

Really beautiful mood; audio and graphics and story all fall together into a coherent work. The concept of only being able to see in an area close to you is a common one but you've executed it perfectly. A polished, really pretty game!

Neon Void by egawag 2019-10-07T14:06:20Z

Simple but beautiful game. I loved the ground effect as well, and the gameplay is clear and to the point. Audio is nicely put together, matching the aesthetic of the visuals perfectly.

ΛLIENGUIST by Infraxion 2019-10-07T14:41:22Z

Thanks @finnthepirate ! The language was carefully constructed by @Chao, and he definitely did mention he was way more tired than normal for this jam!

Wondering if you might have any suggestions for how it could be more interactive?

ΛLIENGUIST by Infraxion 2019-10-07T14:55:06Z

Thanks @appoxgames ! No worries, we have trouble working out the language ourselves sometimes too, it's definitely not a game for early mornings pre-coffee!

If you need help with the language, the translations should slowly reveal themselves as you speak different sentences. New letters only appear when you speak a new unique sentence though, so make sure to try as many different sentences as you can!

ΛLIENGUIST by Infraxion 2019-10-08T03:08:53Z

@raomer Thank you! The map is a reasonable size, it's not big but the amount of content you can get out of the language balances it out I reckon.

@sansman01 dingg dabdabdabdap biep biep!

ΛLIENGUIST by Infraxion 2019-10-18T04:32:24Z

@rodrigo-denubila @prodigalson @johnny-rainbow @wolfens @sharbelfs @sillyman987 @mediyaz Thank you!!

@derek-volker I actually thought it might be easier for players who can speak more than one language, as multilingual people generally find it easier to accept unfamiliar linguistic concepts. We actually originally had the language as a different grammatical structure than English, and changed it to be the same as English later, when we thought it might be too hard, so maybe it would indeed now be easier for someone who speaks English natively. Thanks for playing!

@reheated Thanks for the detailed review! Yeah originally we didn't have any method of revealing letters and just had empty boxes for players to take notes in, but we found it was just way too hard. We tried a few different methods of revealing letters before landing on the current one, but it definitely has a few loopholes still!

@invader I'll make sure to check those out, thanks!

@arzi You can simply move your character up or down so it's not on the same row as the alien, and then the text won't overlap :) But perhaps it would make overlapping less frequent if the text was on the bottom for the player.

Mission Start With Nothing by Benjamin123 2019-10-07T14:14:22Z

Beautiful graphics, but unfortunately I too was greatly affected by the inverted y-axis; it made the game feel much clunkier than I think it would have been otherwise. I can see that you've opted in to the audio category, but I couldn't hear any audio from the game, so I left the rating blank.

Slinger by Bungalow 2019-10-16T12:32:48Z

Really cute, interesting spin on a classic genre, with a really pretty environment. All the mechanics felt interesting and varied. Really well made!

Nothing On Frontlines by Pavel Ivanov 2019-10-07T14:21:47Z

Graphics are really nice, and gameplay is solid. The way you implemented the tutorial was fantastic! Simple but solidly put together.

Bleak by ajahks 2019-10-07T14:31:38Z

Reveal mechanic is really interesting, but I couldn't find anything to do other than repel and freeze enemies, there wasn't a clear goal to me. I loved the little artworks on all the blocks though and I spent some time going through them and revealing all the artwork!

7 Days by AppoxGames 2019-10-07T14:37:53Z

Incredible art and simple but innovative gameplay. Really beautiful.

LD46 — Keep it alive

Cubleton Survive by Infraxion 2020-04-21T02:50:38Z

@mantaraytv-games @corporation Thanks!! Glad you enjoyed it!

Stupid Little Bird by Dolleman 2020-04-20T14:32:50Z

This is such a charming game, everything fits together stylistically so well and it feels super well polished. The little guy is so cute and the mother bird's reaction when the little bird falls is hilarious. So much room for potential expansion into more difficult levels too. Absolutely loved it.

Life of the Party by sirsnowy7 2020-04-20T14:39:58Z

Neat graphics! The controls were a bit confusing but I think only because you're shown all of them at the start and you have to remember it all. It would be nice if there were a hud on the side that displayed the controls at all times. As a temporary solution it could be good to put a How To Play on your Ludum Dare post for people to reference!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

The Circle - 3D Web Game! by Nikolaj 2020-10-05T15:48:31Z

Fun little runner game! Could get interesting if you explored the "changing loops" concept more - perhaps allowing the player to activate or collect powerups to shift between loops at will

Defuse in under 5 by Darylsteak 2020-10-05T15:42:42Z

A fantastic concept! Would definitely be interested to see where this goes if you develop it further!

Setting the timer to 0 is excellent fun

Ternimal Velocity by Infraxion 2020-10-05T15:00:22Z

@rustywolf perhaps you need to speak to someone else about the feather

edit - just realised you might have meant the feather is blocking you from talking to the mole - if that's the case you should be able to grab the feather and pull it off the platform

Thanks for playing!

Ternimal Velocity by Infraxion 2020-10-05T15:07:52Z

@pastelgames Which part are you stuck on? Glad you love the aesthetic though!

Ternimal Velocity by Infraxion 2020-10-05T15:18:21Z

@ausstein thanks for playing!

Ternimal Velocity by Infraxion 2020-10-05T15:34:47Z

@niterich Ah, yes we did find issues with pushing animals on to the ledge but we thought it was pretty funny so we left it in

What _does_ happen to Mr. Mole? O.O

Thanks for playing <3

Turbo Hamster by Nisanick 2020-10-05T16:00:01Z

I came 5th! :D

Very simple but I enjoyed it for a round or two nonetheless.

Altered Nexus by clemonades 2020-10-05T15:31:30Z

Cute little platformer! Simple and enjoyable. Nicely done!

Danger Beat by rhoff95 2020-10-05T16:09:54Z

This is a genius concept - there being no hard fail state and instead relying on the player's enjoyment as the "score" is such a fantastic idea.

Sushi VS Burrito by Jhun 2020-10-05T15:50:04Z

Cute graphics! Simple and fun typing game.

LD49 — Unstable

Turtles All The Way Down (VR required) by andyman404 2021-10-05T03:22:15Z

This is amazing. The concept is really solid and the game is very polished. The mechanic of having different colours stick better to each other is really clever and even meaningful to real life.

Big respect for doing a VR game and risking not clearing the 20 rating mark. It really paid off though, I could absolutely see this being a storefront game.

I think 5 lives is a bit too easy, I would suggest even just making it instant death if anything falls off. Often when one falls off, the tower has bent to the side anyway and all my height is gone, so I'd want to restart.

I can see a lot potential for expansion/more levels by introducing more colours of turtles, and turtles with special abilities such as stronger turtles and turtles that can hold on to more than one other turtle. Or if all the turtles can hold on to multiple by default, you could have multiple "base" turtles etc.

It reminds me of bridge construction games, so I think there could be some sources of inspiration there for further development.

I've bookmarked this, definitely interested to see if you develop this further!

Cloudlands by Infraxion 2021-10-05T04:37:58Z

@bakenshake Thanks for playing!

Ambient music will be coming in a DLC within 2 years, we hope you will look forward to it. We apologise for the delay as we need to file some paperwork for our janitor, and repair our servers. Would you happen to know anything about that?

Cloudlands by Infraxion 2021-10-05T13:28:34Z

@louiejams Thanks! Glad you enjoyed <3

@43t4re I think you might have missed the point or didn't play long enough for the story/message to come together, but thanks for playing!

@0x-void-x0 DVD Project Blue® has no idea what you're talking about. If such a company really does exist, we will be promptly taking legal action.

loop by peterfiftyfour 2021-10-04T14:07:34Z

Really consistent and nice graphic and sound styling and I loved the shader! It's got a lot of potential

Hopin by Vishwah 2021-10-04T14:23:19Z

I was about to stop playing when it was revealed the pad can *deactivate* when you step off it as well, and that started to present some quite interesting puzzles when combined with the unstable platforms!

Unstable Genius by Doc Kaos 2021-10-04T13:59:30Z

Short but sweet, really impressive that you programed all the window interactions! Love a good metagame

A Stable Job by UCSBDad 2021-10-04T14:16:15Z

That was unexpectedly dark :o

The mood is really spooky, with the audio and the long eventless walk. Keep at it!
