Mac doesn't work :(

terryd98 2017-12-04 03:06

nice game!

jcmonkey 2017-12-04 03:13

there is no links to your game.

eerongal 2017-12-04 03:14

I like this. The concept is solid, the gameplay style is simple. Reminds me of a more hectic warioware game.

A fun game that puts your muiltitasking skills to the limit. Really fun to play

kbf123 2017-12-04 03:33

Heh, reminds me of a browser game, I played before about multitasking. I like it!

Also, the J, K, and L games can be completed by just repeatedly tapping those buttons, which is how I won.

poorwill 2017-12-04 03:42

This is a great game. Nice idea. Good execution. Lovely music.

swen 2017-12-04 03:42

I can see people totally master this. In the beginning, I could barely hold 2 modules. But after some practice, I quickly began handling 5 modules at a time!

Fun game(s)! c:

This was a neat idea!

tezza48 2017-12-04 04:42

2AM, cannot multitask right at this moment! Nice take on the theme, and lots of polish.

belowparallel-ian 2017-12-04 04:51

Man, this is stressful. Very interesting concept, and I like the interpretation of the theme. This is a great example of how less can be more with a just a bit of ingenuity. Great job.

racso 2017-12-04 04:53

This is an excellent entry. Requiring the player to play all the games at the same time makes a quite good experience. The graphics are simple but good looking.

I appreciate the game having music, and even more the fact that the music adapts to the amount of active games. The only downside I see is that, in my opinion, the music style doesn't fit a lot with the rest of the game aesthetics.

sholf 2017-12-04 05:12

Haha I'm pretty bad at this, can barely manage to keep 3 modules active. Really cool game though! Probably the best so far in terms of idea, love it!

lks1990 2017-12-04 05:24

Loved it. Finger-gymnastics at its finest. Just had a smile on my face the whole time I was playing it, reminded me a bit of the Wario MiniGames, just more innovative.

endesga 2017-12-04 07:43

Damn, more difficult than I expected! nice!

jeffchen 2017-12-04 11:01

I can play so many games on one screen!Interesting!

vieruz 2017-12-04 12:53

561.66 seconds.

Wonderfull experience. Made me feel like a musician :)

Thanks for this game.

are-sundnes 2017-12-04 14:29

Looks really cool, but not working on Mac I'm afraid

prostone 2017-12-04 14:41

@are-sundnes Hi, thanks for feedback, could you please try this build and tell me if it works or what the problem might be? Its a zipped file, with an .app inside. https://tinyurl.com/GetInShape-MacOS-2

tuism 2017-12-04 15:47

Yeah, mac download doesn't work :(

prostone 2017-12-04 15:59

@tuism ok, last chance for a mac build, then I have to give up, since I sadly don't know what the problem might be. https://tinyurl.com/GetInShape-MacOS-3

tuism 2017-12-04 17:02

Yay this one worked! :)

You have a great game on your hands! Six very simple things individually but together is hard as nuts, and that's great :D There's only one gripe - nothing stops you from just focusing on one or two things and let everything else go, and that makes it really easy. I didn't get to an "end" because it got boring after I've seen all the modules.

There should be an incentive to have as many of them active at a time as possible. That'll make the risk more rewarding.

Oh and uh, this isn't something you can fix easily, but keyboard jam is real - sometimes multiple key presses doesn't register all at once. I don't know if there are key combinations that might dodge this issue.

prostone 2017-12-04 18:05

@tuism Thanks for testing the Mac build, glad it works now! Nice points as well, I actually tackled the idea of needing to have more modules active or die as well, but it seemed like it would get boring even faster, so I decided to make the real challenge actually survive for some time with all of them activated, while not punishing mistakes as much. There might be better ways to go about it, so I might do some postcombo build :]

About the keyboard jam, I thought it would be a problem as well, but it worked suprisingly good on my machine and didn't get a single hick-up, it will be something I look into in the future definitely.

Thanks for the feedback! Cheers!

r3l0ad1 2017-12-04 19:29

Lovely Game, I love the concept of it. My Time was 264s I found it easy to justdo one room??? is this a bug

prostone 2017-12-04 19:34

@game-coder28 One room should be easy enough. To actually complete the game is to survive for 20 seconds while ALL the rooms are activated, which adds to the difficulty. So the less time you spent on completing the game the better :] I just added highscore for surivval, for anyone, who can't complete the game (since there was no way for me to measure the difficulty by just testing myself). Thanks for playing! Maybe try to finish it :]

remco 2017-12-04 19:35

Oh, I love how this one reminds me of movie titles from the 60's and 70's. Really gives this piece an unique mood!

Each new window gives you an anticipation, like 'well, I wonder what this next one'll do, then'.

It's (can become?) also quite easy: nothing really stops you from keeping only one of the windows and ignoring the others. Given that all windows on the right side can be kept alive by just spamming the respective keys, it loses challenge fast if played that way.

... but I guess that's not really how you'd inteded for people to play?

Truly excelent use of theme as well!

_(P.S. You know, call me a fun-killer, but the phrase 'quit like a pathetic loser', is yeah... Let me put it this way: is that really one of the first things you'd want a new player to see? It also destroys the strange minimalistic mood you've build up IMHO)_

r3l0ad1 2017-12-04 19:35

I See

gamesplusjames 2017-12-04 19:38

I loved the concept of the game, managing the six different blocks was a real challenge! :D Great work and a really fun entry!

prostone 2017-12-04 19:53

@remco Agree on your quit point, realized it after playing it AFTER the submission. And you're right on the spamming part as well. I had a tough time actually balancing the game, especially the water room, and suddenly there was no time left... Really good points, thanks for feedback!

remco 2017-12-04 20:06

@prostone Thanks. It's always a relief to get a thoughtful reply back after posting something like that.

generalvivi 2017-12-04 21:08

Loved it. Fun, small, simple. A game that gets to the point with no fluff.

I could easily see you randomizing the keys for the different rooms or shuffling them around to make things extra hard.

I think this game would also be able to pull off a "Wario ware" type effect. Just by throwing up 1 room at a time.

Nice work!

tiberiusuciu 2017-12-04 21:34

Solid game! So darn stressful to complete. And I love the straight mean "Quit like a pathetic looser" hahaha I beat the game in 255 seconds, it was pretty difficult, but I found an exploit, nothing stops you from spamming J-K-L in order and just focus on A-S-D. What I'm saying is that J-K-L requires no attention whatsoever as long as you keep constantly hitting J-K-L repetitively.

Good work!

benburgh 2017-12-04 21:50

Really cool! I think that the time should increment once for each active game - so if you have three windows open, the time increments by 3 every second, to incentive having more on at once isntead of focusing on one or two.

diegoctorguet 2017-12-04 22:40

This game is really good! I manage to live some minutes and here you have some feedback: - 'a' jump button feels a bit slow. And it punishes really hard not giving enough atention. - I feel like some soft rhytmic music in the background would help a lot to synchronize better following some pulses. When you have more than 3 actions it gets crazy and I think that feature would help a lot.

Anyway, this is funny and really original. Congratulations!

boltkey 2017-12-05 01:06

The music was great. The jkl minigames didn't need any attention, I was just tapping the keys to the beat and it worked.

benhumphries 2017-12-05 01:29

This game has great replay-ability! I can definitely see myself spending a ton of time improving my high score (I'll probably come back later when I don't have work to do). Great job!

marekkpie 2017-12-05 02:57

Top 10 game for me. You can kind of cheat by just rhythmically tapping the right hand keys. I'm sure if you had time to flesh the game out you could fix that. Still awesome job.

ksbdude 2017-12-05 04:20

Love the game! Mac version also works now. Would be great if you got more points or something for keeping multiple challenges going instead of just surviving but I had fun and loved the game. I hope yo make a more fleshed out version to play in the future. Tons of fun!

marcosm10 2017-12-05 09:49

Nice idea! Really shows how humans are NOT very good at multitasking xD

gris 2017-12-05 09:51

Very cool game indeed! A different one that fits the theme perfectly. Apparently my coordination isn't as good as I thought. Congrats!

infraxion 2017-12-05 10:07

Great concept! It seems like something that would be perfect for a mobile game.

kbjwes77 2017-12-05 10:39

Just difficult enough that I got all six minigames going at once, but failed nearly all of them immediately after. Like a little Warioware/Four Second Frenzy game!

gwolf86 2017-12-05 12:57

Great work. Unfortunately I suck at these kinds of dexterity games! The music was pleasant and the graphics were nice and clean. I couldn't really ask for much more from this kind of game. Definitely in my top 10 so far.

sam-dower 2017-12-05 16:09

Best Game Yet. Well done!

mr-matt 2017-12-05 19:37

Yay I completed it in 252 seconds. Cool little game, well done!

prostone 2017-12-05 22:11

Thank you all for your feedback! Learned a lot from it and have already a lot of notes, how to make it a better experience for the player.

@tiberiusuciu I know about the spamming issue, sadly it wasn't something I could balance in time. Wanted to have only one room spammy (L climbing), but then I didn't manage to make the K water and J laser one more distinguishable. Definitely something I will try to remedy.

@diegoctorguet really good point on the A room, something kinda hard to discern as a developer, but I can see what you mean. Will try to work on this in a rebalanced version. Music pulses are a really great idea, kinda go with the rhythm, that might help the player. Thanks!

@ksbdude Will definitely try to make a system better suited for this concept. Unfortunately time is strict in compo, so this is what I managed in that :]

poroh 2017-12-05 22:27

windows link broken :(

strelly 2017-12-05 22:56

This is such a fun game, reminds me of wario ware stuff!

fractalsunrise 2017-12-05 22:57

I liked it, though it was really hard at first. Once I realized that I could tap J, K, and L in time with the music and not have to pay attention to those windows it got easier.

I really liked the guitar soundtrack. It was a really nice balance to the gameplay, and I found myself always pushing buttons in sync with the music to help me focus on everything. The quit buttons were really funny and helped me not take myself too seriously when I lost. I finished it in 138.04 seconds!

Thanks for making it!

prostone 2017-12-05 23:28

@poroh Hello, it works for me! Its a link to dropbox, it just says that rar files cant be previewed, maybe that was the case? If anyone else can confirm that, that would be swell, otherwise I will look into it.

poroh 2017-12-05 23:46

@prostone, yep it works now) hour ago it was 404. will play it tomorrow)

fakeyou 2017-12-06 06:42

Funny and original game, some buttons could just be spammed but when all the keys became active this still became very hard. Good job!

alexv 2017-12-06 17:26

Pretty cool idea, but the fact that you can spam some buttons without even looking ruins it (for example the laser one and the one where the cube slides down towards the fire). If you make these ones a bit more interactive you'll have a great game

kernel-panic 2017-12-06 17:50

J, K, and L can pretty much just be spammed. Once you realise that it's quite easy to complete the game in minimal time. But the first play through is generally quite interesting before you get used to it all, and it made me laugh as it all fell apart.

nammflow 2017-12-07 01:15

This is a cool take on the theme! I'm using a macbook and it works really well (One of few games working on mac, so extra props!). I love the colors, the music, and the fact that I can "Ramp up" the difficulty simply by playing the game. I love when games auto-adjust the difficulty as you play! Good job on this submission!

feedlipe 2017-12-07 01:24

I have no words to explain how awesome I though that this game is! I started this game smiling, you have my thanks for letting me play this! I can't figure out a suggestion. Maybe use a little bit of lightning for letting the game more beautiful.

If you need more deep info, you can summon me here. Hope I can help you with this feedback. Also, if possible check my game too.

arkthalohs 2017-12-07 03:02

Nice game. I found balancing the three games on the left hard, with the D-game the hardest because I had to remember the order the colors were in (when I won I got lucky and got green walls like 4 times in a row). The J, K, and L minigames were the easiest since you can actually just constantly spam those keys and never lose those. The music was also good, especially how it started slow, but sped up and got more frantic as the game progressed.

toboggan 2017-12-14 02:34

Really cool! Feel like you should only be allowed to fail so many times. Otherwise you only have to keep one of the games going (which is trivial for most of them).

noxbuds 2017-12-15 19:01

Absolutely incredible. Music was awesome - loved how it increased or decreased speed based on how many rooms you had open. Took me 499 seconds to complete the game - little bit slower than your record :P Unfortunately a lot of times I lost rooms due to my keyboard only registering 3 keys at a time :( Very fun though
