LD39 — Running out of Power

Escape the Morgue by Jacksendary 2017-08-17T06:28:36Z

Beautiful looking game, the ambiance is just perfect. The movement is a bit clunky, my character feels like he's a bit too slow... perhaps since he just woke up from the morgue it could play a part in it ;) Regardless, the game is fun, and i'd like this to become into some sort of horror/thriller game, you're on the right path!

Good job!!

Stranded In Space by MAT4DOR 2017-08-13T16:13:11Z

Cool strategy game. There are some things that I wish there was in this game.

Being able to sell the buildings, because on my first 2 attempts, i ended stuck over producing one type of material and another was always low but never running out.

Also, the requires resources is very high. And once you got the whole base setup, all you need to do is wait, so after about a minute and a half, I was done playing, and all i had to do is wait till I have enough resources, which was until around 6 minutes and a half.

For further improvements, try to add more events besides falling meteorites.

Otherwise, fun concept, good job!!

Player in the Dark by loyance 2017-08-09T02:42:50Z

Great Game, I love the errie feel from it.

My only suggestion for you is to make things more clear about what we are supposed to do. Like point with an arrow or something where we should go for example.

Otherwise, graphics are good so thumbs up for that :^) Perhaps avoid making things so dark, it's a nice concept, but it's hard to keep players interested when they can't see very well.

Good Job Nonetheless!

Mars Escape by lukethecoder64 2017-07-31T21:03:24Z

I'm a huge fan of any space games so you already won me with this :^) It would help if we had some sort of music or more audio feedback when playing this game (Even though you mentioned that you can’t hear sound through the thin atmosphere on mars)

Good Job!

Assault and Batteries by SecondThread 2017-08-06T21:16:20Z

Very Impressive Game for such a short amount of time allowed to make.

A general tip I have for you is to try to avoid making multiplayer games simply because it is difficult to find ratings. A lot of people will try these Ludum Dare games by themselves very often. I neglected that fact and looked at the core of the game. The game is fun, the controls are very well implemented and I do sense a strong thematic of PVP in this game, which adds a lot of potential to the game.

Some recommendation is to try to lower the sounds of your game, because the intro and reloading sound effects are very loud compared to the rest of the game, which caught me by surprise when i first started the game or I was reloading.

Otherwise, for the amount of time you had to make this game, I am impressed, good job!

HellOnEarth by Dingbat 2017-07-31T21:17:56Z

I really enjoyed playing this game. It's very addicting. The art is at the same time very simple and so smooth. One way you could improve the game is by Adding more types of weapons? or different kinds of classes (human/priest/...) like fighters maybe?

Good Job!

Escape From Planet Poop by DankyPants 2017-08-14T00:10:01Z

Simple game, hilarious game!

I liked it, the game play was pretty easy, you should try to gradually make it more difficult as you gave the ship getting higher.

Otherwise, fun game, Good Job!!

Plasma Arena by red-fan-games 2017-08-07T03:35:35Z

I love the graphics! Very retro and the entire ambiance is very well done!

This game opens up the possibility for you to add so much more content (enemies and guns) I would be glad to see a post compo-version.

Great Job!!

Star Power by Simon Millard 2017-08-15T05:23:11Z

Card games is something I respect a lot. I find it difficult to make one in the first place. Well done on the concept, I ended spending quite some time at playing this. Unfortunately I ended up often with a handful of going straight cards so I end up dying. Nonetheless, the game was very fun.

One easy way to improve is to perhaps add more variety to the cards? You have the concept done now, you can add so much more by adding more things on top of this current card game.

Good job!!

The Factory by Jack D. Taylor 2017-08-17T05:19:16Z

I like these kinds of games. In fact, my game is also about stealth so props for the mechanics ;)

I wish there was some sounds in this game. The game was a bit hard because there are alot of things to maintain (Stealth, Power Running out). Maybe make the difficulty increase gradually.

Otherwise, Good job!!

Hold Back the Night by dnp 2017-07-31T19:00:46Z

Made it for 6 minutes and 19 seconds with an Uzi. The game is very fun, I only wish the spawn rate for the fuel was a bit more often. I liked the whole selection of weapons as well. What you could do is to make craft-able fuel, so the player would have a choice in either crafting a gun, or making some fuel.

Great job!

The Crown Prince by Baby Dino Herd 2017-08-17T05:27:10Z

Like most people say, the game's gameplay is pretty hard to understand at first, I had to restart on multiple occasion in order to figure out what to do.

Otherwise, music is nicely done and art is simple yet clear enough. I think this experience can be improved much more if there was some sort of a gradual difficulty increase over time.

The game has potential due to it's originality, keep up the good work and good job!!

Henry the Electrician by Neweichgames 2017-08-10T05:15:01Z

The game is hilarious, the concept is funny.

My only problem I had is that actually grabbing the cable is quite difficult and it feels it's maybe because the accuracy required to grab is too high.

I'm not sure if it's a bug but in the first level, you can actually jump on the sides from invisible platforms.

Great game otherwise!

The Last Frontier by Drag0mir 2017-08-17T06:03:43Z

For 15 hours, I shall overlook the imperfections, because that's a whole other challenge than the 48 hours :^)

Here are some things that you can do that can improve your game from here on. Sounds, even a simple "pew pew" Some sort of instructions within the game to make it clear to the user what he needs to do.

Otherwise, you're game has potential, you have the mechanics setup, all you need to is add features :^)

Good job regardless!!

PARODIANUS II : 致命的な外国人ロバのリターン by knarf 2017-08-11T06:42:16Z

The time required to play in order to finish is surprisingly longer than you'd expect for a 48 hour compo game. Great job on the art, everything is well detailed... maybe too much detailed x)

My tip for you is to try to make enemy bullets much more clear, often they would blend with the background making them invisible.

Otherwise, great job!!!!

Power Insufficient by theoddpotion 2017-07-31T19:20:23Z

I'm a big fan of anything space related so **props** for that. Art is simple, I like the whole resource management of either harvesting or inhabiting and the map feels so huge. This is a great start for whole world of possibilities. You can definitely expand on this game.

Great Job!

Will Power by William Derksen 2017-07-31T05:12:08Z

I love the music, it would of been even better if it was longer! Great Job!

First Ludum Dare Submit (Hackerman) by Tiberiusuciu 2017-07-31T19:24:14Z

@oxrock Thank you for playing! The hacking speed is intended to be the same regardless of sneak mode. The problem with my game is besides the subtle visual cues from the door sprite changing, there is no way to tell if the hacking is complete. As for the typing noise, I made the pitch noise change at random every time you try to hack. Maybe it wasn't a good idea since it might make you believe that you did something different.

First Ludum Dare Submit (Hackerman) by Tiberiusuciu 2017-07-31T21:05:29Z

@goloso-games

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you like my art style, I only learned how to pixel art (or draw anything for that matter) about a month ago. I've been practicing a lot for this :^)

As for the difficulty, yes there should be some sort of checkpoints throughout the game.

First Ludum Dare Submit (Hackerman) by Tiberiusuciu 2017-07-31T21:07:15Z

@pbg

Thank you for playing! Happy to read that you enjoyed my art! Yeah the guards move at random so I can understand the frustration of waiting. Close to the end of the compo, I thought about making the guards only see you if they are facing you. But I didn't have time to implement that. Perhaps post-compo!

First Ludum Dare Submit (Hackerman) by Tiberiusuciu 2017-07-31T21:09:58Z

@peredom

Thank you for playing!

This was one of my fears for this game, I was convinced that people will not get the cue of when a hacking is done due to a lack of audio feedback or simply better visual feedback. I love the suggestion you made about the tutorials because that's exactly what I had initially in mind, but due to the fact that I was running out of time and I left the UI for last, I quickly gathered up the fastest way to make the tutorials.

Back Home by Simone 2017-07-31T19:37:44Z

I love the humor in this game, and I also tried to push the character at the end of the game off the platform, but I failed x) Game had a nice management of your time where you keep struggling at deciding to mine or defend.

Good Job!

Drain by morphine 2017-08-09T02:20:01Z

Beautiful game!

The music and voicing really adds a lot of effect and it's amazing for a compo to build such art! On a side note, darkness is not everyone's favorite obstacle in a game, it definitely adds an effect to the game. But movement becomes very disorientating with such low brightness.

Otherwise, great game! Good job!!

< Mr. Plug > by Drachmor 2017-07-31T05:02:20Z

Art was very smooth, and transitions between areas was unnoticeable. Good job!

Energy Grid by Aaron McLeod 2017-08-10T04:39:07Z

Simple Game and I love these sort of games, and what you made opens up a lot more possibilities where you could expand. One recommendation is to try to make the beginning more easy, I had a hard time setting up some sort of sustainable base.

Otherwise great job!!

Lifeforce Deathrun by GanbareGamesKyle 2017-08-14T00:29:34Z

Very well made it. It was psychedelic but thats what made it mroe challenging.

Maybe there should be more challenges in the level, like walls or something. Regardless, I enjoyed your game!

Great Job!!

Power Struggle by gmfk07 2017-07-31T18:45:36Z

I played against myself just to get the general feel of this. I LOVE THE CONCEPT, the way games work nowadays are sort steering away from these sort of games. And it's a shame because I'd find this loads of fun to play with some friends over. It took a little while to understand what to do, so the help at the beginning was definitely useful. This game also has so much more potential to add many more pwerups for both the state and the resistance.

Great Job!

Battery Run by JustMars 2017-08-11T06:32:54Z

I love the simplicity, i'd wish if it was a bit longer. But nonetheless, as a fellow first-time Ludum Dare participant, I like your game! :) The mechanic of switching the 3D perspective is a nice touch to make the game much more interesting.

Audio is very tough, I neglected it as well in my game and only left sound effects for it.

My only tip for you is to try to split more your time in advance. Tell yourself in advance that you want to dedicate X amount of hours for sounds only and make lists of things you need, it helps keeping you on track with what you need to do :)

Great Job!!

Power Down by Levi Willrich 2017-07-31T18:26:06Z

Ended with a score of 561, game concept is simple. Simple enough that you can easily add so much more to it. Things such as different kind of ores that does different things, like slow down time or make your mining faster. The one tip I can give you is to perhaps improve the music. This was my problem as well with my game, I couldn't get the music right so I didn't use anything. In you case, it's a bit short, so the music restarts quite often due to the fact that the game can last a few minutes.

Great job nonetheless!

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Dipsomaniac by Junber 2017-12-08T01:19:29Z

The art is really well made, even the walking animations. Also good job on the song! I like the interactions with the bartender.

What I could recommend for this game is to maybe make the player invulnerable when he bumps into something, because sometimes I get unlucky and hit multiple things consecutively.

Otherwise great job!

Snowmans Dilemma by JCMonkey 2017-12-05T04:45:04Z

First and foremost, I must give you probably the biggest props I gave so far through all the games I tried here. Simply because we both did the same game hahahahahaha

My game has a story game approach than a puzzle game.

But same deal, you are a snowman, and you must escape the heat of the wildfire while saving your friends. It also has some sort of zelda-like puzzles. I'm actually happy to see a similar game!

Now as for reviewing your game, I like it, it's all about optimizing the best paths and good timing in order to make it out alive. The snowing particle seems a bit off when going upwards, because the snow is no longer falling. I find that a tad strange, it seemed to depend in which way the snowman is going.

Anyways, what a coincidence! and good job on your game! :)

Power and Reaction by Murilo 2017-12-07T02:04:36Z

Great sprite animations, there's so much variety! voice over adds a nice touch to the game as well!

The only reccomendation I have is to make it more easy to change direction. It seems that when you're shooting one way, it takes a lot of time before being able to change direction.

Otherwise, great game! I had fun! :)

Smile Corp by tinykidtoo 2017-12-07T02:13:36Z

I didn't expect the gps, that was a really nice touch!

I think there might be a bug. After I lost a level, I went to super expensive with maximum load, and i immediately have the "You're fired" sign. Im not sure if it's voluntary or not.

Otherwise, the game had a nice simulation, I like it! Good job! :)

Air Pressure by zgragselus 2017-12-07T01:45:21Z

Amazing model you built here. everything about the day and night to the actual globe itself is well designed!

I'm not sure if removing the tutorials was the way to go. I did figure it out eventually, but I think tutorials are inevitably the best solution, especially when you're trying something different than your general platformer.

Good job nonetheless, I enjoyed playing it!

A Boy and His Card by sorlok 2017-12-06T23:28:56Z

At first my wallet was going all well, then I quickly went into debt and got out of control! hahaha

The graphics are really gorgeous and the sounds are amazing! the laughter is hilarious hahahahaha

Good job! :)

Real Inc. by Atmög 2017-12-07T16:50:01Z

Wow for 72 hours, the game seems pretty complex! Which is a good thing, it show's that there is content to go on.

On a side not, i'd recommend making the tutorials a bit more easy to follow, since there is so much information to take in at the beginning.

Otherwise the game is fun, I enjoyed playing it. Good job! :)

Addtris+++ [Now with post Compo Update] by 5you 2017-12-04T21:00:32Z

I love the console interface, it feels like some sort of emulator. Great job on that!

The pivoting of the pieces is a bit problematic, because it seems to pivot on a single point, which is not the case with tetris: the piece's stays in the same x position. Why is that a problem? If you ever need to change the rotation at the last second before it clicks with your placed pieces, you can't because it finds itself stuck with pieces already places. Furthermore, if you ever need to pivot nearby a wall, you can't, because it finds itself stuck.

Otherwise, game is fun, the vibe I get from it is nice too, good job!

Muldulamulom by mase 2017-12-05T05:58:55Z

Not sure if this is a bug, There seems to be some sort of problem at using anything else that is not a sword (carpet, bombs) on the windows version. These buttons are just doing anything.

I started with saying the bugs, because I must insist on the following: The graphics are absolutely gorgeous. A mixture of well detailed character with psychedelic effect. It's very well done. I sense nostalgia from this game.

The game runs very smoothly also which makes it fun to play!

Good job!!

Daily Debug Dash by Elemental Zeal Game Studios 2017-12-07T02:21:02Z

Ah at last, a coding game! or almost :)

This one is pretty fun, and i quickly grew to already dislike the work colleagues with their spam hahahaha There is so much room for expansion on this game. There are many ways where you guys could go with this! you could add different coding works like loops? or maybe earn wage to upgrade certain things, either aesthetically speaking or actual game play upgrades.

This game has lots of potential, good job! :)

Happy Bot Mess by meursault 2017-12-06T02:37:08Z

I like that you integrated an actual voice in the game, it makes it so much more personal and unique :)

I like turn based games, it took me a little while till I figure out what was I supposed to do but I got it eventually.

Nice art as well!

Good job! :)

Travel Light by Shivur 2017-12-07T03:24:42Z

The idea of the game is really fun. At first i thought the game was very easy. It was only after making a huge amount of space around me that i regret not taking the time to aim properly. Well implemented!

The only thing missing here is the sounds which I wish there was.

Otherwise, great game, i had fun playing it! :)

Kingdom Savior by tmpxyz 2017-12-07T02:38:16Z

This reminds me of those airplane games where you're scrolling forward and you get to shoot a bunch of enemies while being in a constant bullet hell. This adds a nice twist! Sound is great and so are the visuals

I enjoyed playing this game, great job! :)

The Shadow From Below by Arkthalohs 2017-12-07T03:05:54Z

As stated previously, getting into the game is a bit difficult due to the fact that there is so much information to take in at the beginning. Even the board, we don't really know by where to begin. Afterwards, it gets better and the game becomes more easy. I just wish there was some sort of sounds with this. Otherwise, I enjoyed the game pretty well. It is a unique approach for LD, considering that not a lot of people makes board games as video games. So on that note, good job! :)

Chuck Norris will Make America Great Again by paulhocker 2017-12-07T03:39:00Z

Art style and music made this game pretty fun! :) I like the various weapons you can choose for your character. It gets chaotic pretty quickly, but that's what made it funnier!

Good job!

Hungry Ghost by mrnyarlathotep 2017-12-04T04:54:44Z

Nice sets of puzzle,

and the character is hilarious how he changes shape so much :)

Good idea implementing that "R" button. I myself realized my game is lacking one, and you can actually get stuck if you're unlucky. Great game, me and a friend played it good amount of time!

Cat Basket by Pohka 2017-12-05T05:27:45Z

I love the camera perspective you chose for this game. It add a lot of effect as you're running through the hallways. I managed to get all the kittens, but only because I don't seem to be able to die. The bar at the bottom is what I assume to be my health. It doesn't seem to trigger anything when it became fully white.

Because of that, I was able to get all the kittens. But it doesn't seem to have an ending either once you capture them all.

Music is great, sounds are also good. I like the whole bouncing bullet. I didn't know that at first so I was just spamming freely until I realized I made the room into a giant bullet hell stage hahaha

Great Job! :)

Cat Basket by Pohka 2017-12-05T05:31:34Z

@regularjohn4

I believe the theme applies in this game with:

The more you have bullets flying on the screen, the worst it gets

Blob Story: Cave Rescue! by Funske 2017-12-07T01:51:47Z

Nice 4 direction sprites. I wanted to do that for my game, but I sort of got intimidated by the idea so I sort of gave up hahaha :p You also made some really good fluid room transition.

There were a few times where my character would get stuck, but I don't believe it's because of your game but the fact that it's a web build. When I was pressing certain keyboard letters. I would start scrolling down the page when I hit space afterwards. It was very hard to return playing after that. I eventually figured out that by setting the game to full screen and then exiting fixes it. Again, I don't think it's a bug from your game.

Good job! :)

America 2018 by Antti Tiihonen 2017-12-07T01:22:32Z

The ambiance is very spooky, and I always get a heart attack when I get attacked from behind.

I love the art and the lighting you used. The music is great as well

I'm not sure if this is a bug or it was intended, the HTML 5 version has a behavior where the direction you're looking at changes spontaneously into unpredictable areas, making it very misleading to understand where you are looking at.

Also, one last thing, the map is great, it feels like a maze :) but be careful about filling in holes. On my second play through, I was hiding in corners and ended up falling off the map because one of the walls had an opening

Good job! :)

Presents by gilborn 2017-12-05T05:50:17Z

The perspective is damn good, it's very smooth and it moves so easily. Great job on that.

I enjoyed playing it. I found it so stressful at certain points, because you need to look up but you also need to open presents at the same time. Good usage of the theme.

One recommendation is to add some sort of shadows on the ground to see where the presents would land. But at the same time, I think that might make the game too easy at that point.

Altogether, Great job!

Company harder project by falak 2017-12-07T16:59:03Z

As a fellow game maker programmer, props! :)

I like how you integrated actual pictures in the game hahahahaha it adds personality.

I think there is a bug with the buttons key pressing. When I was writing a name containing the letter 'f', as soon as I hit that, the game went automatically in full screen. I'm not sure if you really wanted that sort of behavior hahahaha

Otherwise the game is pretty unique, there's very few company games that I've seen so far. Good job! :)

Birds Birds Birds by Versatile Box 2017-12-07T01:36:33Z

DAMN THOSE BIG BIRDS :O

besides those annoying brown birds. Eveything else was well executed :) I have no remark whatsoever. Perhaps that at first I thought you needed to place pop corn on your car in order to attract birds on a specific side in order to balance things out. But this works as well!

Good job!

Hold Out by wareification 2017-12-07T03:51:23Z

I cannot believe that the thematic was basically Tetris, or a snake game!

For that, well done, also nice new mechanic you're bringing to a classic. It made the game so much more satisfying to get that perfect 4 lines in one go :)

If only this game had some sounds as well, but no worries :)

Good job! :)

Globstopper by James Dunlap 2017-12-07T02:48:45Z

I think the controls makes it challenging, but I don't consider that necessarily a bad thing. I like your pixel art for the planets, especially saturn :)

music is nice. There is room where you can expand on the game, like adding different kind of enemies or different kind of weaponry.

Good good, I enjoyed playing it, good job! :)

Kalyuka by soyrandom 2017-12-05T05:35:35Z

Great pixel art! Also really good music you made for this game!

I seem to have a bug on the HTML5 version, I cannot move horizontally. For a first submission, this is pretty good!

Looking forward seeing more games from you!

Stranded by DustinNazelrod 2017-12-07T03:44:28Z

As a fellow game maker studio programmer, I must give you props! Also, really nice job on the whole cinematic camera intro. and the parallax background :)

I seem to have a GUI problem, because my health bar overflows outside my window, and I cannot resize the window either.

Otherwise, I found the game well done, I like the animations, they are very clear :)

Good job! :)

Briiik by Goloso Games 2017-12-05T05:41:50Z

I love the simplicity from it!

It gets so stressful as you progress in the game! Art is beautiful!

Definitely you could expand on this in terms of unlockables? Like maybe have a different texture on the blocks that you would obtain by gathering points?

Good job!

Farmland Invasion by CoderK 2017-12-07T04:04:39Z

I find it pretty fun to use the gun with WASD, it makes it different than most shooting games hahahah!

Nice usage of the theme, I just wished there was some sounds in this game, but now worries :)

Good job! :)

Justify the Means by Goat Toaster Games 2017-12-07T03:12:54Z

Really well done on the whole spriting and parallax. Really adds a nice mood. Also the music is really well done.

There are a few issues with player positioning when you die. the character seems to get stuck in the ground, and the only way of getting out is by jumping.

Otherwise I enjoyed playing the game. Great job!!

Glow Party by jmaekgaem 2017-12-07T03:18:48Z

It took me a while to realize that the game has already begun when i double clicked it hahahaha

It's only when I started clicking that I was able to see. And that's actually a really nice effect/ambiance. I wish there was some sort of spooky/eerie soundtrack that would go with this game to really sweeten the deal.

Otherwise the game is fun! Good job!!

The Daily Grind by MarioBarone 2017-12-08T06:35:30Z

I love this! I have little to no experience with making coffee and this takes me back when I actually needed to make some! This is pretty how I quickly picked it up and got hooked on this game. It's very addicting and the sounds are very well made!

Good job!

Super Goop! by Be3n2 2017-12-04T21:16:55Z

I love the art you had on the main character, it is very similar to Superbrothers: Swords and Sorcery style. A style which I myself would like to learn.

There seems to be a bug in one of your levels, that prohibits me from reaching the end. Basically what happens is that I get to the flag, and then I restart back from the beginning of that same level. Unless maybe this game does not have an end screen? So when you reach the last level, you just loop on it so that you don't trigger a crash?

The game was fun nonetheless!

I wish there some sort of UI indication of what's going on, like a little in the corner to indicate what level you're at.

Also, the camera seems a bit off with the player, because whenever you're falling, you don't really see what's underneath until the very last second of landing on something.

Good job!

Overkiller by SubWooferX3 2017-12-07T02:25:41Z

Controls are really smooth, and the whole arena battle games is always something I find very fun to play.

My tip to improve the game is to try to gradually reduce the speed of the character when you stop pressing WASD. because it stops so quick it becomes just a little disorientating because of the fast speed of the character.

Otherwise, the music is great and the gameplay is fun! Good job! :)

My Alien Life! by muromets 2017-12-05T03:41:38Z

Love the story idea :)

The controls are a bit finicky, for example, you cannot walk diagonally anymore if you hit an obstacle, you will only continue in the direction that did not encounter an obstacle.

Also, whenever you complete a task, the character seems to freeze for a few seconds before he can start moving again. Is that voluntary? If so, maybe have some sort of feedback that we cannot move right ahead.

Which this brings me to my next point, it would be nice if it had some sort of sounds, anything works, even a simple click. This is just so that the player feels rewarded for his actions.

Lastly, I think there is a bug with the interactions, if you move while interacting, the interaction happens and the whole loading UI is ongoing, but you're still moving. I used this to my own advantage so I can interact with bacteria covered objects without getting infected because I was walking away towards my next objective at the same time.

Neat UI with the whole room names :) Fun game to play nonetheless! Good Job!

Dungeon Boy! by nardandas 2017-12-06T04:26:38Z

Music is awesome!

And nice mesh models you made, they look really good. I'm getting some Path of Exile vibe from playing your game, which is good :)

Excellent work!

Snowman - Wildfire Edition by Tiberiusuciu 2017-12-04T21:02:53Z

Thank your for playing!

@gilborn

Yeah my interpretation of the theme might be too abstract, but essentially, it boils down to: the more you have fire, the worst it is. Because the snowman needs the fire so that he may progress through the game, but it also makes you more likely to melt away. I hope this clears it out a bit :^)

Snowman - Wildfire Edition by Tiberiusuciu 2017-12-05T05:18:19Z

@muromets @pohka

Thank you for playing!

This was one of my worries: to try to make this game reflect the emotions I wanted it to bring. I'm new at this genre, my last and only game I made before was a simple platformer with no music.

I tried something new this time

Snowman - Wildfire Edition by Tiberiusuciu 2017-12-06T04:28:44Z

@sorlok

Thank you for playing! Yeah this was one of my last item on my todo list for this game, I ran out of time by trying to have an end to this game and some music. But I see what you mean. Thanks for the feedback!

Snowman - Wildfire Edition by Tiberiusuciu 2017-12-06T04:37:31Z

@Grentacular Yeah this was also a worrying subject, I didn't want them to disappear either. If I had some more time, I wanted to make a smiling version of each snowman, and a non-smiling version, so you could see if the snowman is happy or not which would signify he has been saved. But I know what you mean. Thank you for playing!

Snowman - Wildfire Edition by Tiberiusuciu 2017-12-06T04:39:03Z

@clayton-schuyler

I had a lot of trouble with the sounds in this LD. At first every burning sound was waayyy too loud, so I dropped the volume dramatically. But then when I added the music, I needed more balancing to do. The sounds were the last "big" features I've added at the end. I would of definitely balanced it out with more time.

and YES!! the snorkel snowman! hahahahaha

Thank you for playing!

Snowman - Wildfire Edition by Tiberiusuciu 2017-12-06T04:48:38Z

@luciax

Yeah there are a few things that were not quite clear, but basically at the moment, as long as your are in front of an ice barrier at about half a block of distance maximum, you can burn the ice barrier. If you are behind the ice barrier, you cannot, and there's actually a puzzle with a specific ice barrier in a level of the game, that requires a lesson seen in the tutorials about chain reactions. But I understand that it wasn't very clear. I made some friends test out my game after LD, and I noticed that my tutorials were not as clear as I thought they were in my head.

Oh yeah and for burning an object, you don't really need to waive anything, you just need to have a burning source nearby a burnable object. My instructions were not clear enough and I have seen some people spinning the snowman's hands thinking that it was the answer hahaha

Sorry about the misdirection. Thank you for playing!!

Snowman - Wildfire Edition by Tiberiusuciu 2017-12-06T04:51:05Z

@alottabit

Thank you for the kind words, this means a lot for me! Your description about how you felt about the game is EXACTLY what I wanted you to feel hahahaha I'm glad to see you've captured what I was trying to reflect with this game. Thank you for playing!

Snowman - Wildfire Edition by Tiberiusuciu 2017-12-07T01:59:06Z

@julia

Thank you, I made it myself with a few midi keyboards, I'm looking forward to have more integrated songs in my next LD entries :) Thank you for playing!

Snowman - Wildfire Edition by Tiberiusuciu 2017-12-07T02:59:05Z

@LaneDavis

Yeah I had fun writing those tutorials hahahahaha :) I see what you mean about the maze level, and I agree, I had a hard time figuring out how to not make it too obnoxious. I told myself that the fire would quickly consume the level, so in case you get tired of searching, the fire would probably open you a quick path to the exit if need be. But yeah, that maze should be reworked, thank you for the feedback and playing!

Snowman - Wildfire Edition by Tiberiusuciu 2017-12-07T03:00:51Z

@dimesto52

I totally understand that. And I actually realized a little bit after my deployment, that a restart level button would definitely help out. especially in certain levels where if you run out of sticks, then restarting the level is the only choice (this happens in the tutorials, I hope not too often hahaha) Thank you for playing!

Snowman - Wildfire Edition by Tiberiusuciu 2017-12-07T04:08:22Z

@james-dunlap

Thanks for playing, you don't really need to save them :p my tutorial level in the first level just says to save the snowman for some extra credits, and that's pretty much all they are used for. Otherwise you could also want to save them because it's the right thing to do? You're right, there are no indications on how many snowmen per level, I'm not sure if I wanted to display that, since they are optional in the first place. But thank you for the feedback, maybe my instructions were not clear enough!

Snowman - Wildfire Edition by Tiberiusuciu 2017-12-07T04:47:38Z

@lawzy93

Thank you for playing! The snowman can melt actually, but there is no animation for them. It was on my todo lists but with only 48 hours, there is so much I can do. I had to choose between having the same looking snowman with a melting animation, or various looking snowmen. I choose having different kinds because I didn't want the game to look to repetitive. Also yeah, that was in my ideas to see the snowmen run towards the exit. Thanks for the feedback!

Snowman - Wildfire Edition by Tiberiusuciu 2017-12-07T04:57:04Z

@chartman

Thank you for the kind words. My tutorials were not very clear on that aspect, but you don't really need to flail your arms to burn things. All you need is having your arms pointing towards a "burn-able" object and that's all you need. And for setting your arms on fire, all you need to have your arms on fire is to touch the fire. No need of flailing. I believe the word "waving" in my tutorials was very misleading. Thank you for your feedback!

Snowman - Wildfire Edition by Tiberiusuciu 2017-12-08T06:23:00Z

@lukbebalduke

Thanks for the feedback. I am aware of the tiles not being very clear. Having more time, I would of definitely went over my tiling and make sure to add the subtle hints about where you can step through. For now I assumed that seeing a bunch of snowmen across a wall, would intrigue the player to try going through the snow walls. Not very clear I must admit. Thank you for playing!

Snowman - Wildfire Edition by Tiberiusuciu 2017-12-08T06:25:49Z

@mandrilltiger

Thank you for playing! Yeah UI was also a lacking feature. At the end of the 48 hours, I was struggling trying to figure out what to prioritize in order to make sure that what will get delivered would be playable. Having had more time, the spriting and the UI would of been on my next tasks. Also, I do agree that just by touching the snowman didn't make it vert clear if they were rescued. The ultimate goal with them is to have them run towards the exit once saved, which would also indicate the player where to go within each level. Thank you for your feedback!

All Followers Lost by Tim Ruswick 2017-12-05T04:58:07Z

I love the controls, it's surprisingly easy to pick up.

I like the fact that you asked someone else to make your voice sounds. I would love to do the same so I can add different personalities to my character.

Good steady difficulty. I see the trick is to really avoid dealing with a group of haters, and kinda deal with one of them at a time. (Voluntary placed analogy?) Graphics are simple, yet they are very clear to understand what's going on.

Good Job!

Manystar by alexfalkenberg 2017-12-05T05:15:52Z

Arrrrgh these pesky fast enemies that jumps on my loot!

They are well implemented these ones hahaha

What you may consider finished, I see potential, I see a working game with missing sounds only.

Yeah you are right the theme is sort of lacking from this game, but with the few hours you had. I must say, this is pretty good. You don't have to be so hard on yourself and be proud of what you have. You have published this, all you need now is some sweet sounds and you have a full game. Then it's only touch-ups.

Keep up the great work, I admire your effort you put in with those few hours. Everything counts!

Guardian Angel by Raven 2017-12-07T17:07:20Z

The abstract art is really nice for the cut scenes, I love it. Also, the mechanics of the game is well done. If only there was a music to this it would of been even better, but no worries :)

One recommendation is to maybe make the text last less longer. But otherwise the game is great! Great job! :)

Watch for Thieves by mandrilltiger 2017-12-07T05:18:44Z

As a fellow game maker studio programmer, props! :)

Very nice zelda-esk thematic. Music is so good, I tried making music, but yours is sooo much better hahaha!

the controls works very well as well Good job! :)

Invasion of The Bugs by Scout 2017-12-07T03:56:35Z

The game is well done, the bugs gave me a heart attack when I first met them hahahaha

otherwise it plays smoothly. I just wished the time between day and night was a bit shorter but no worries.

Good job on the game! :)

Get in Shape by Prostone 2017-12-04T21:34:15Z

Solid game! So darn stressful to complete. And I love the straight mean "Quit like a pathetic looser" hahaha I beat the game in 255 seconds, it was pretty difficult, but I found an exploit, nothing stops you from spamming J-K-L in order and just focus on A-S-D. What I'm saying is that J-K-L requires no attention whatsoever as long as you keep constantly hitting J-K-L repetitively.

Good work!

Crimsonite by aman1822 2017-12-07T07:15:35Z

The art style + the perspective is so nice :) I love the different voxels you made for the enemies. Particles are nice and lighting was also well made.

Sound is also well integrated. All in all, it's a well made game!

Good job! :)

BadChristmas by BobStopka 2017-12-06T02:24:05Z

I like this artwork, and nice bobbing effect on the walking.

Mad props for using snowmen in your game. (My main character of my game is a snowman hahahaha)

There might be a visual bug when I'm toggling fast between the shovel and the snowball, the image of the snowball remains in my face even though i'm using my shovel.

Otherwise, lovely game! Good job :)

Avarice by elitegoliath 2017-12-06T04:04:27Z

Nice music!

2d arena shooters are Hella-fun :)

this one is nice since you give more than one option on how to take down the enemies. Even thought as stated before, I will probably stick with the range weapon just so that I can keep a safe distance at all times.

Good job!

Widget Satchel by Noble Robot 2017-12-07T02:55:31Z

beautiful animations and the sound is excellent. Great job on these aspects.

One thing i'd like you guys to try to improve is the camera. When you move too quickly, the camera is having a hard time following the character. otherwise, the game is very fun to play!

Good job! :)

Last Ticket by Luciax 2017-12-06T03:40:26Z

I got Ending B, so I dumped his sorry ass :D

Story wise, it's fun, it's well done Art wise, 2 Thumbs up, well done, it feels so nostalgic to me, I love it. Music wise, I like it, doesn't feel like it's looping really, it fits well with the theme Game wise, two things: I love the shooting mechanics, I like how it upgrades as you progress through the game.

What I did not like is the camera, the camera seems to cut abruptly when you're jumping? or when you're going higher on the screen.

Also, the edges of platforms, the character would not read that too well, and even though you land on a ledge, you fall straight down nonetheless.

Otherwise this game was fun, great ambiance, nice little story, great job!

Power Play by lawzy93 2017-12-07T05:37:00Z

The game is fun, it reminds a lot of idle games I used to make years ago. I like it.

I was having a hard time understanding what the map was used for initially. Otherwise the game is fun! Good job! :)

Claustrophobia by Fecalmancer 2017-12-06T04:20:52Z

The graphics are soooo good. It's soo trippy the space level too!

I enjoyed playing it, and the music is pretty good as well!

And same like the others, I got the forest level 2 times in a row

Good job!

Enjoy the Flowers by Ethos 2017-12-06T03:51:47Z

The music is hilarious hahahhahahaha

There seems to be some sort of bug when the character is on the uphill, he sort of gets stuck in the ground and you have to wiggle him out using tall the buttons and the drift button.

Besides that, the game was fun, good job!

Vault Loot by ghostlygurustudios 2017-12-07T01:57:29Z

I like this style of games. I will not lie though, I did see a game similar to this one where you are a burglar, and you steal things from people's home and you get heavier as you steal, and you have to find an exit. I forgot his username but it's a game for LD40. Anyways, your version is also good. You have cops chasing you whereas the other has just a timer. The cops are fun to see how to trick them, the pixel art is neatly done.

I only wish there was some more sounds with this game, other wise I like it! Good job! :)

Anxiety by Jean 2017-12-06T02:15:55Z

For your first LD, this is pretty good. Solid work on the walking animation. Theme works well with the game

One tip I can give you is to try to give some sort of audio feedback when you get an item. Because it's very quiet so it feels a bit disconnected from the game reality.

Also, Try to balance out your sound volumes, the game over screen is very loud compared to the room volume. Since

Next up is not an error or a bug, but a recommendation: try to keep the song looping, so that even when you hit the restart button, you get to hear the music. Because I like how the music sounds but I only get to hear a few seconds of it before I restart.

Overall, solid work, this game is well done for your first Ludum Dare! :)

I Heart Stan by TechTeller 2017-12-07T01:31:21Z

The game has nice graphics. Great camera control with the roof becoming transparent as you walk underneath it.

A pro tip is to try to add boundaries all over the map on the outskirt. Because I was able to walk away from the map into the eternal void.

Otherwise, good job! :)

Stealy by Grentacular 2017-12-06T04:13:12Z

The various music is really great!

I love the animation when you get caught by the police, first time I heard it, it gave me a heart attack hahahahaha

Great game, I enjoyed playing it!

Xenon Xenophobia by Chartman 2017-12-07T05:26:18Z

For a first LD, great mesh models, great lightning controls and really nice particles!

The quality of the starship and gameplay is very well executed! I have no bad remarks for this entry,

Good job! :)

Mini Mystery by MarshCannon 2017-12-07T05:45:56Z

I love these sort of games, I find them so unique.

The only problem with this particular game is that there are some characters who has the same sprites, so it's hard to choose from the list the appropriate culprit when they all look the same.

Otherwise, i love the ambiance and fell from it, Good job! :)

Hatred Island by ImDaveead 2017-12-06T03:23:07Z

Capture.PNG

At my second attempt, i quickly built a forteress, even though the enemies can go through the turrets, I had so many, there was no way they could go over, two furnaces and 3 miners with me mining at the same time makes a really OP invincible combo, I stopped playing at 3000 because I had a hunch I wasn't going to die anytime soon.

The game is loads of fun (which is why I got to 3000 patiently :) )

For your first LD entry, this is pretty darn good. The only thing is that the turret sounds when you have so many is soooooo loud. I had to remove my headphones while I was playing because the volume got out of hand hahahaha :p

In order to maybe balance out the game, the turrets should have a durability, so you cannot just bunker up like I did. Or you could introduce even way stronger enemies at a certain hate level.

I like this game, it's a good game to just grind for ores!

Also thanks for watching my stream ;)

Good job!

Super Wall Paint! by beepyeah 2017-12-07T03:35:12Z

I love it! So simple, and it's so fun! :)

Music is great, the art style does perfectly well the job. overall I have no bad remarks on this game. Maybe try to make it so that players can anticipate sudden light switches, because it gets harder pretty in order to align the paint brushes well.

Otherwise, I enjoyed playing this game, great job! :)

Necrothrone by CiaranW 2017-12-07T02:31:15Z

What a morbid game! hahahahahaha I like it, and the text you have appearing is pretty funny, especially when I know that you made your own engine for this game hahahahaha

Considering that this is your own engine, this is pretty good, im impressed! :) There's only the sound missing but I can understand due to the lack of time.

Good job! :)

The Lost City of Bhalrim by solluxx 2017-12-07T03:29:32Z

Love the art style and the humor from the text! I constantly tried poking at it taking the most outrageous decisions to see where it would go. The game was fun all the way and I have no bad remarks on it! :)

Maybe a little bit more sounds, for example when you choose an option, a little feedback would be nice.

Otherwise, fun game, good job! :)

Cohesion by alottabit 2017-12-07T01:11:58Z

Wow the simplicity from the this game is soo awesome. Rare are the games like these that the concept is obvious but I would have never thought about it hahahaha

Art is very good, it shows exactly what it needs and the sounds fit in well. Good set of tutorials, making sure the player understands some basic strategies on how to solve levels.

Good job! :)

Fatigue Blade by Clayton Schuyler 2017-12-07T00:59:51Z

This first attempt at Game jam is pretty good, very good concept for the theme. Graphics are nice, dodging is very satisfying. Second level was a little bit difficult to see what was going on.

Also, the pickup is difficult to take the hearts or keys. You need to be in a specific area in order to be able to pick them up.

Otherwise, good game! Good job!

Darklike by clachipso 2017-12-04T20:44:06Z

The game plays pretty well, I think I might have encountered a case where there was one ball which was unobtainable. It was stuck between two statues vertically. This game seems to have randomly generated levels, but if it helps, I had it happening at level 11.

Great usage of theme and good fun game to play, I wish there was some way to restore your flashes, otherwise great work!

LD42 — Running out of space

Match In A Bottle by Tiberiusuciu 2018-08-13T02:40:02Z

@kindogrec Thanks for playing! Yeah, you can destroy as many as you can, as long as they are in a straight line of the same color!

Match In A Bottle by Tiberiusuciu 2018-08-13T04:30:12Z

@undefinist Thanks for playing! For the randomness, I did not worry to much about it, because of multiple reasons (amount of lives, power ups, large space till you reach the top), it's more than likely to be able to clear out all the cubes eventually.

The jumping I was aware of it, but at the same time, being able to jump one block is part of the challenge, it makes you always worry about trying to stay on top of things. I can see how it can be annoying, but I thought that with the amount of lives at your disposal, that it can be overlooked. As for the re-spawning, I noticed this problem quite a few times with friends playing my game after I submitted it, since I have been playing this game non stop for 24 hours, I got used to quickly align myself where I want while re-spawning. This is a game-design which I did not worry because I was too deep in the core of the game to realize that certain things might be difficult for others.

Thanks, and best of luck on your finals!

Match In A Bottle by Tiberiusuciu 2018-08-13T06:40:27Z

@gaoyuan-chen Thanks for playing! Yeah the death animation still makes me smirk hahaha!

This is the disadvantage working with a full random system, it's easy to make, but can often not work as good as you hoped it to be.

Initially, there was only 3 different colors, blue, yellow and red. I only decided to add green, because to my testing, I felt like there was sufficient room in the bottle to be able to let blocks pile up together and eventually be able to cause a huge chain reaction.

As for your second idea, that's what I was hesitating to do, but I decided not to do it, because it would only make the experience much more stale in my opinion. I like the fact that you have to click on each end of a line in order to complete a line because it makes it challenging to focus doing that while also dodging cubes at the same time!

Match In A Bottle by Tiberiusuciu 2018-08-13T06:40:39Z

@serious07 Thanks for playing!~

Born to jump by Blix 2018-08-17T02:41:10Z

Llama Hotel by Sode 2018-08-13T06:47:18Z

I think it's a good start, it's so random too hahahahaha!

by the way, not sure if it's intended, but when you move fast enough, the lamas can get out of the box, and if you catch them again, it gives you the point once again. Otherwise, I like it, it's random hahaha

The legend of the looter and the incredible backpack that never runs out of spac by agar3s 2018-08-20T05:25:30Z

Wow the art is sooooo good :o very well done! And the little details to the sound effects are also very well thought out. Good job!

KnightTime by coatline 2018-08-14T21:36:17Z

I like the mechanics, they are simple, but it's addicting. The sounds are funny, good job!!

Collector by Serious07 2018-08-13T05:00:20Z

I agree with what others are saying, I don't think the movement should be this much bashed on, I think it is the way it is because it requires to be in some sort of a grid? Anyways, the game is a neat little puzzle, graphics are simple and straight to the point :^), good job!

Running out of Space by Gaoyuan Chen 2018-08-13T03:20:30Z

I underestimated the difficulty of the game because of the tutorials. I thought this was easy, boy was I wrong hahahaha game is fun, and I quickly got hooked on trying to last as long as I can. Good job!

The Adventures of Stickman in Macrosoft Doors! by Scott Purcival 2018-08-13T04:34:58Z

OPEN-ME.ZIP by Adam Harms 2018-08-20T05:21:28Z

Music, ambiance and visuals (even if it's mostly text) is absolutely gorgeous, I love the soundtrack. I find this jam entry very beautiful. I had a little bit of difficulty at first understanding what to do, but I quickly ignored it by the nice mood it was emitting. Good Job!

Masao Adventure by ayhangazi 2018-08-13T06:57:58Z

the sounds are nice!

I noticed that if you have a game over, and you go back to the main menu, the background music duplicates. Otherwise, good job!!

Jelly Thoughts by Andy Wolff 2018-08-13T06:35:05Z

Hahaha the honesty made it better! I think you had something going for your game, don't give up on it, the art is nice too, so you have the base to start expanding on it!

Claustrophobe by Gabsep 2018-08-20T05:17:19Z

That loosing noise gives me a hard attack each time, even if I already heard it, I still get shocked every single time. I tell you that, you definitely nailed the ambiance! The game is challenging, it was great!

My suggestion to improve it is by making the transition to a new game when starting over a little faster. Otherwise, I enjoyed it!

Not Enough Space by Madar Games 2018-08-13T03:31:33Z

My advice is to have more ammo, I would often end up with no ammo. That was my number one problem. Otherwise the graphics are nice :D

GRIDLOCKED by bradleypollard 2018-08-15T22:48:53Z

A very nice logical puzzle, my only problem with it is the wiring mode that is not very obvious where to click and drag to draw wires. Otherwise, the puzzle is a little hard to understand at first, but gets very fun once you understand the basics of the game! Good Job!

Crystal Invasion by Nelson William 2018-08-14T21:25:18Z

This game is well polished! My only problem is that my movement would sometimes get stuck and my character would go in only one direction, I would have to fight my character every now and then to gain back control over him. If not, everything else went really well! Good job!

Crate Typist by Luca1152 2018-08-14T21:18:04Z

I enjoy typing challenges, this one got very stressful really quickly, I have no complains about the game besides the error sound that might be too loud on the ears in contrast to the other sounds this game provides. Good job!

Plastic Patch Cleanup by Lars-Erik 2018-08-13T03:06:11Z

At first I was telling myself: "Heh, this game is too easy!" only to face a massive wall of plastic bits and there was no way I could catch them all hahaha!

If you ever work on it some more, I'd like to see some more upgrades, like more speed for the boat. Otherwise I enjoyed it, fun little arcade game to remind us our impending doom of our society due to plastic wastes hahaha!

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Life Vac by caranha 2019-05-05T07:17:30Z

BEAUTIFUL presentation, the graphics and sounds are well polished. I was a little lost at first since I have very little experience with the original game of life. Excellent work to all of you!

Devil Slots by CarlosPidox 2019-05-01T23:40:05Z

I love your music! I made a game somewhat similar to this, but I couldn't quite get the music part. Yours however is soo good! I especially love the one in the room with the slots!

Fantastic job!

Might of the Druids by candlesan 2019-05-05T07:23:39Z

At last! A card game! I cherish everytime I find one because I find them so rare and I'm always curious to see how it is implemented. Good job on it, I love the neat little sound details there is when it comes to card manipulation. The sounds makes the experience much more satisfying. That being said, I would recommend lowering it just a little. Maybe it's my computer, but the sounds were fairly loud. Regardless, I love this submission, excellent job! :)

Blood Thief by Draedrus 2019-05-01T04:42:20Z

This was really nice to play! It was nice to feel actually powerful due to my power ups! I wish there was more content to try out. If anything, would it be possible to randomize the position of the target? I had the same target in the same place on level 2.

Regardless, it was fun to play and I envy the nice 3d work! :)

BloodBath by Tiberiusuciu 2019-04-29T15:52:08Z

@zactical @Tkap Thank you for playing!

I agree, the ramping is pretty slow, it used to be even slower. I wish I had more time to fine-tune it and get the right timing. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the wizard's spells! :)

BloodBath by Tiberiusuciu 2019-04-29T15:54:05Z

@b3agz Thank you for playing!

I have seen some close friends of mine play it and it gave me this feeling to polish it up. Who knows, I might do that in the next few days! :)

BloodBath by Tiberiusuciu 2019-04-29T15:57:09Z

@spudward Thank you for playing!

I agree, those 2 spells are not very obvious, I took it for granted that people might relate to the necromancer class from Diablo 3. That class has a [similar spell](https://us.diablo3.com/en/class/necromancer/active/corpse-explosion)

I completely forgot about the mouse wheel! I wanted to implement it as well :(

This will for sure go on my list of things to polish!

BloodBath by Tiberiusuciu 2019-04-29T15:58:34Z

@memel06 Thank you for playing!

Don't tempt me hahahaha! I really wasn't sure where I was going with this project but I'm very happy I hanged in there and finished it!

I think the result was well worth it :)

Ollo's Life by Memel06 2019-05-01T04:37:44Z

Wow I'm amazed by how much content there is. Also the presentation is really nice. I'm happy to see that there is so much support for multiple platforms too!

I would really enjoy watching a time lapse of the making of this game! Well done! :)

DEA-7H by b3agz 2019-04-29T05:28:27Z

I envy this Semi 3D effect. I work with Game Maker Studio 2 and it would be pretty hard to replicate that. Besides the beautiful graphics in this game, the ambiance is great! the music is subtle and really fits the semi-detective work you got to do. Great job!! :)

Cyborg Highway by Pyrian 2019-05-05T07:15:13Z

Beautiful presentation, game explanation is straight to the point. The noise amuses me when I get kicked off of a car hahahaha Good job!! :)

Market Master by zactical 2019-05-01T04:32:42Z

It is unique to find game with this genre! I'm glad to have stumbled on this one :) I was a little overwhelmed at first because I felt like there was a lot to take in. I like the sound effects when the market crashes. They made me smile hahahaha! Good job! :)

LD45 — Start with nothing

TinyBeat by Tiberiusuciu 2019-10-06T21:29:02Z

@travis-carlen

I know, Having had more time, I would of totally assigned more time to the rhythm allocation. I feel like I neglected that area simply because of the complexity of the task. Thank you nonetheless for playing! :)

TinyBeat by Tiberiusuciu 2019-10-06T21:56:11Z

@musicblox

Thank you for playing! Yeah I wanted to gradually slow down over a second or two whenever you hit the slowdown note. Did not implemented that idea after all due to time constraints. That would totally be part of the things needing some polishing! ;)

LD49 — Unstable

Rapid Robot by SigmanZero 2021-10-08T03:25:15Z

Nice work!

It took me a little while to get used to the jump mechanics. The "unstable" ground is def. a good idea for this game, and it adds a layer of complexity that is much welcome here.

I like the fact that you guys spent the time to define multiple types of enemies and powerups. The audio was just fine and I appreciate for attempting to add sfx to most interactions.

Overall, nicely done!

Emergency Power by mythalore 2021-10-08T03:00:48Z

Text based games are very unique when it comes to storytelling. The only thing I wish this game had to embelish is any sort of soundtrack or small noises when choosing any of these options.

Besides that, nice work!

Unstable World by BankSho 2021-10-06T05:48:57Z

Nice job! I loved the fish eye effect, haven't seen this before on other games here. This reminds me of some little big planet effect!

My only advice is to give the player the option to control the sounds, either lower/increase them or mute them. there was no way to lower it and it was pretty loud in my ears. Other than that, good job!

UnStable Reactor by honzapat 2021-10-05T02:33:54Z

I really like the mood it sets being the only worker in the power plant. I think you could have a boat-load of potential if you were to add any hints of horror into this. Not necessarily adding any monsters, but if you were to build upon making a scarier atmosphere. Like sudden noises that you need to investigate.

Otherwise, I wish there were a little more explanation on how to interact with the rooms to fix.

Good job!

Mothew vs The Light by Spice Cabinet 2021-10-05T02:24:15Z

Good job on your entry!

I like the physics done on the swinging lanterns. Art animation is top notch for the character animation :D

My advice: I wish we could be warned in advance about certain falls, because it felt like I was being punished without any warning when falling to my doom into a bunch of lanterns

Rocky Rhodes and the Cracked Case by Brainloaf Studio 2021-10-06T06:03:33Z

Nice work!

By far the best entry I have played so far. I would love to see more whacky scenarios, it is very entertaining going through these sudden changes!

Noyau Instable by SparkyDoc07 2021-10-07T02:38:05Z

Nice work!

The concept of the game is spot on for this theme. I wish there was a little more information on where to use the screwdriver/bucket/cannister. I kept trying to use it on the machine next to the shiny green reactor core. I also tried on the core as well but I did not get any feedback from either of them.

The sirens were def. adding intensity to the situation! Nice 3d models, would love to hear some more ambient noises or a simple tune to add to the intensity.

Otherwise, nicely done!

Alche-Tea by loueee 2021-10-07T02:31:04Z

Nice work!

Took me a while to understand what to do. I had to look at previous comments to get a few hints. But once I got it, I started making some toxic tea :D The audio is really really nice, I love the background music, and the small noises when you pick up ingredients is relaxing.

The only think I recommend for this game is to perhaps add a bit more explanation on what we can do / what we should do.

Other than that, great work!

Drillbit Junker by nanobuilder 2021-10-05T02:41:15Z

This game was really good. I would love to see some sounds on this, everything else was fun, it reminds me of the bop-it toy, or wario ware games.

I would suggest to ramp up the difficulty at a faster rate than this.

Really nice work!

Purps by Str8griz 2021-10-06T06:24:29Z

Nice work!

This reminds of a previous Ludum Dare entry I did called "Bloodbath" where I would run around the map killing bad guys using blood magic that I would cycle through. Good memories :')

I wish there was more usage of the space bar. It came in really handy for the boss fight, but for everything else, it wasn't needed. One thing I would add to this game is the possibility to control the volume of the music, because it was set at maximum volume compared to everything else.

Good job nonetheless and best of luck! :D

Gunslinger Glitch by ugly_robot 2021-10-08T03:38:49Z

Very impressive work!

I think you are being a little too harsh on yourself, the game is really good. It is very impressive if you've actually used AP-based quotes for this game.

I think there certain times in the game where I really have a hard time distinguishing what's fake from what's real. Which is both scary for real life, but also a little frustrating when playing, because it feels like you can't base yourself on any logical principle.

Besides that, audio/gfx/gameplay is really good and THANK YOU for including a volume control for the sfx and the bg music.

This was a really good LD entry, especially considering this is a compo on top of all things!

Sam's Misadventure with a demon: Origins by Ghostbit 2021-10-06T06:11:27Z

Nice work! I'd love to be able to play more, if I remember correctly, there was something like 3 levels to go through, I'd like to see more of the mechanics to really get to mess with the newly acquired power ups. Nonetheless, I understand that you have ran out of time. So kudos to you for taking the time to sign it off with a end screen at the very least

If you were to continue to work on the game, one way you can further improve the game is by having the power ups hold a bigger impact for the player. I feel like the power ups did not do a noticeable difference. Otherwise, splendid work!

Super Misfire or: One Gun To Shoot Them All by ivysly 2021-10-07T02:45:53Z

Nicely done!

I gotta say, for a compo, this is a very well done, I've played a bunch of Jam games, and they don't come close to be as polished as this!

The art is pixelated, but very well done. The audio is well fitting for this kind of game. And the progression of introducing more bullet types and enemies is spot on!

My only advice to you is to add a way to control the audio (increase/decrease/mute), since everything was at max volume at first.

Other than that, great work! Looking forward to see your next game in the LDs!

Ghosting the Party by Fer Gueler 2021-10-08T03:15:53Z

Nice work!

The art is really good. It feels so clean! I wish there would be a bit more feedback/audio queues when reading through the conversations. I felt like sometimes, the dialogue was getting a little length, but that can easily be countered by providing some sort of audio effects in the background, just to keep the readers engaged.

Great work nonetheless!

Templefall by Gurt 2021-10-07T02:21:13Z

Nice work!

I love the pixel art, it feels very polished. I also enjoyed the quick replay value of each level where I would need to quickly think it through before actually pressing forward.

I would love to see some audio control (lower/increase/mute) option for the music, since it was set at maximum volume at first.

Other than that, great work!

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Pixel Repair Agency by KirLosev 2024-10-08T08:06:36Z

I love games that gives off a tactile feel, when you have devices that you have to press buttons and observer digital screens. Excellent art!

Tara by sbeif 2024-10-11T08:51:12Z

Great art, great game mechanics! Only thing I want to say is that I think there might be bug with the game, occasionally, when I jump near the edge of the map, I get teleported back around 2 levels. It only happened twice, not quite sure what caused it, but I thought I should let you know.

Great game nevertheless

PokeAutoMobs by PlusMinus 2024-10-08T08:49:49Z

I haven't seen auto-battle games before so I approached this game very blindly. I appreciate the effort you put in for the UI elements, a lot of explanations and details helped at making this understandable

Little Summin' by Human Writes Code 2024-10-09T08:52:49Z

Impressive project, I wasn't even aware it was made in 5 hours at first, very polished! Made it to level 7 but then I had a level to reach -38, where my previous object was 73. Safe to say, I did not make it in time

Great game, well thought out

Blood Crux by Dmitry Kaidash 2024-10-08T18:54:18Z

The game is very good! Controls are fluid and the music is nice  This feels very polished and I love the grainy/ps1-style graphics

My only advice to make this game even better is to try to find a way to keep the score tombstone in the game. So that on my next playthrough, I can see it, and the longer I play, the more tombstones are visible in the cemetery

Great game!

Morsel by SvenErik 2024-10-08T08:16:08Z

Sneaky Mouky by victor_reiner 2024-10-08T08:41:44Z

The voice recordings are awesome! I feel like your team must of had a blast making these

Silly guys breakthrough by dreo 2024-10-08T19:37:54Z

I'm starting to see a strategy where you back away your lower health units but keep them close so that the DPS is maintained. This reminds me a lot of a similar mental state when playing Starcraft. Nice mechanics

Inside Creatures Out: What is your gaming MBTI? by CatZP 2024-10-11T08:45:11Z

Game progression is excellent, I forgot to take a screenshot, but I got a character dressed in light blue, probably a nurse? Not sure  Good game!

Stacoon by Wesel 2024-10-08T08:22:57Z

Good art, nice gameplay, your team came together very nicely

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

7575 by Shivur 2018-04-27T05:00:48Z

The idea is hilarious! I believe the cow sort of get stuck sometimes in the corner if you sweared at them. Or at least, it seems like it takes an awful lot of time until they leave. Otherwise the game was pretty gunny and I like the simplicity! Good job!

GHOST JOB by paulhocker 2018-04-27T05:21:33Z

I like the graphics, I find it very clean! One way to improve is by fixing the sounds because they stack a lot when you scare multiple persons at the same time. Also, maybe have some sort of visual indication that it is your turn to do something. Otherwise the game was entertaining none the less!

Someone Is Wrong On The Internet by huminaboz 2018-04-27T05:17:03Z

The ui and the art is very clean. Nice animations and it definitely got me stressed out at the very last level! Good ambiance and good job!!

SoccerTurn by Tiberiusuciu 2018-04-27T13:17:52Z

@sayumeki @Acuity

Thanks for playing! Im glad you guys had a chance to play it together, I did not have much of the opportunity to test it with someone when I was writing this game.

I agree about the range of motion, my biggest concern for this game was to make sure the game mechanics/controls were clear. I see that I forgot about showing a range of motion for the players. Initially they used to all move the same distance, but then I realized to add a randomness to the movements which can make some pretty funny games. Good remark!

Also, I agree about the repeat previous action feature. That is really smart and should of not taken to long to implement, I did not think of that! Thanks for the tip!

I'm glad you liked the Ludum Dare logo! I tried to replicate it to the best I could within a game jam marathon. I'm glad it turned out well

Beet Boy by Ryan Bishop 2018-04-27T05:34:07Z

By far, one of the best games i've played this ludum dare, the simple art, the beautiful sounds, the level design and the theme fits well this game. I have nothing to say other than you should continue this game and make a post ludum dare entry, I am certain there will be people like myself who would be interested in playing it! :)

Click Soccer by Kurama_Youko 2018-04-23T02:02:43Z

Bird-View Burger Barn by IceColdSword 2018-04-27T05:08:19Z

Great art, great music, every runs very smooth and the game play is a lot of fun. This is a great game which I would look forward in seeing further additions to the game. I would like to play it as a casual game here and there! Good job!!
