Cute pixel art and the cut scenes I saw were adorable (especially when I failed to bring back pollen and the Queen was just happy she didn't lose me) and wholesome! I struggled to fly a bit because my screen was pretty shaky. Sadly, the game kept freezing up after day 2 and I couldn't progress past that point. Lovely game overall though, lots of heart.
Just a heads-up, I noticed that your Ludum Dare game link isn't on your Itch.io page. I found you there, and I had to guess what the link was here, but I got it. ๐
I found it quite interesting that there is a mechanic of escaping and collecting flowers. It's amusing to imagine a bee detaching an entire flower head. ๐
Later, it surprised me when it suddenly turned into a typing game, which is cool, but I really wasn't expecting it, especially since I jumped in without reading anything about the game.
Hey, I was also surprised by the handmade artwork in thereโit's got a lot of promise! ๐ I think a game with these kinds of hand-drawn arts would look adorable, especially if they were scanned in.

@velvetlobster Thanks for the heads up about the missing link on Itch page. I'm glad you took the time to find the link manually! And thanks for playing the game. I had a blast making it with the team.
nice concept and implementation! you have core loop, upgrades, side mechanic, well done!

I like the typing minigame, it caught me off guard at first haha

Fun game! Easy to understand, and the controls feel good. The sound track gets repetitive, so having the option to turn it down is nice.
Very cute! Wasn't quite sure if the slight input lag was like wind pushing me away or if it was unintentional but great job overall!

@giraffalope There is an intentional "bumble" effect going on in the game that intentionally messes with the movement. Hopefully it wasn't too over the top. I always imagine bees (and other flying bugs) to only be partially in control of their flight movements.
Really well done! This is a very cozy, vibey, pretty game. I enjoy how the movement actually feels a little erratic and "bumbly," very much makes you feel like you're playing as a bee. The gameplay loop is charming, and as random as it is, the typing game keeps things fresh. Love the honeycomb motif throughout the UI.
If I had to complain about something it would be the speed at which it turns nighttime. There doesn't seem to be much warning about nightfall until it actually hits. Next thing I know, I'm way too far from the hive and the screen is turning black on me without any chance to make it back.
Overall though, super cute and fun game, and very well done! Thanks!

really liked the game, but the music got very repetetive after the 3rd loop. Also wasnt smart enough to figure out when night was coming so i didnt arrive back home fast enough multiple times (rip all my honey efforts) but really liked the artwork!! Cutest little bee drawings ever
so cute :). i think this is a very creative idea and you managed to pack a lot of game in three days. Maybe i missed something though, but the day/night cycle confused me a bit. i felt like as soon as i learned the day was running out, it was already too late to do anything about it. made me scared to do any exploring away from the hive
Love the quick time writing events to gather more bees to fly with you  The game felt well polished, good job
The graphics are cute, and the gameplay is good enough to play at least a few rounds. For a game made during the jam, itโs not bad at all.

The basic idea is well taken. Gameplay is clear. UI is clear and nicely designed. Upgrade system is impressive. Feedback, especially audio feedback, is missing too often. Soundtrack gets boring after a while (loop too short). Enemies are too similar to your own species (more variety would be nice).
The was really fun and in my opinion the only thing left to do would be polishing, it could end up being a nice small game with that
This was a fun one! Felt pretty polished, and decently challenging to fill up the honey. I think changing the hue of the grass from green to brown to white could be a small change that would add a lot to the mood of the season change along with the little blurbs.

Interesting concept, I love being overworked by my beloved queen, I hope she notices me someday.
It's annoying having to deal with those bully wasps who punch me and steal my pollen as soon as they see me, but it's fine because I call my gangster friends to beat them up. So that's great.
I ended up losing, since I was a few honeycombs short for the winter. Still, I got through it in a second run, without any help from my homies because I can do it on my own, as the hardworking bee that I am.
The music makes me a little nervous, and it was tedious to have to redo everything the first time I lost, but the second time I went all out, carrying 4 jars of pollen on each leg. Definitely a great experience. Good job!

@drinlan Aw, this made me so happy to see. I know that it is hard to finish jam games for many reasons, but I'm honored that you took the time to stick this one through. The Queen notices!

@janus We had some good ideas for additional unique enemies. As it was, the Spider was almost ready to make it into the jam version, but I just couldn't get there quick enough to make the deadline. Same with additional audio. We are working on adding those in for a small post-jam update. spider_walk.gif
