I really like having to choose to let ants take food at times so you can build your powerup back!
Really enjoyed the game, with a nice reveal and heartwarming message at the end. I really liked the use of watercolor art, especially when it was used to separate the 'repairs' from the rest.
Very great presentation, and a tight gameplay loop. Speed up the time between rounds and this would be way more addictive than it already is.
@krobar Yes, the game is meant to be a high-difficulty risk-management version of a turn-based snake. Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to implement a way to look at your deck so you could get the potential cards for the next turn and weigh your chances.
Hey folks, looks like the game plays nicest on 1080p resolution. Otherwise, elements seem to leave the screen. Sorry about that!
@ryusi Thanks so much for the feedback! We had a million ideas for cards, tiles, etc but had to cut everything that was non-essential. You should try to take the #1 spot on the leaderboard... :)
Really fun puzzle game, but I have no idea how to deal with the 'neutrino' bomb as others have run into. It's not obvious and there isn't any instruction on what to do.
I love how in the first two rounds you taught me everything I needed to know. Very fun, and it's even great to just keep playing after you lose (the chain reaction is where the real game starts! :) )
ARRRR, PIRRRRATE'S TREASURE IS BACK AGAIN
One of my favorites so far
I wasn't sure about this game until I saw the grooblins, now I'm sold.
Nice little game, but I really enjoyed the art style and the way the theme and the mood plays into it. Sometimes the responses weren't 100% obvious if they were 'accept' or 'reject', but maybe that's all part of the challenge :)
I'm absolutely in love with this game. Had a huge smile playing it the whole time. It's okay to G E T C O M F O R T A B L E !!
@mediyaz The employee suffered a horrible car accident and has been on the long road to recovery since. As part of his Physical Therapy, it was recommended he find a position where he can be walking around for part of the day to strengthen his muscles. The shelter was a perfect opportunity - he could be on his feet, and helping animals in need proved to be excellent therapy. We hope that in even 14 months, he'll be moving like his regular self.
@karmafarm You got it, rescues near us are currently suffering a crisis with a huge influx of dogs that need homes. Irresponsible breeders put a huge strain on the community! We wanted to capture that feeling of not being able to keep up and... running out of space! Thank you for playing.
Very nice little thinker! Really liked the art and sound design and it had puzzles that left me thinking! It was hard for me to put down and keep playing other games.
Absolutely adore the aesthetic of this game. Great sound design and artwork. The premise is one of my favorites - felt like trying to keep up with a game of Tetris while fighting waves of monsters. Was a little difficult and clunky to play, but overall I really liked it!
This game made me mad because I still haven't gotten my 63M USD from any princes. Russian gal said I was quite handsome though so 10/10.
Great style and sound effects! Wasn't immediately obvious that facing left and right dictated your decision, but I did feel sad when I had to sacrifice one of my new friends to continue the journey.
I like the graphics, and the game was responsive, but I had to stop due to the control layout. I think audio would really give this game the kick it needs!
I really love the art, sound, and the inclusion of the concept art in the main page! I couldn't find many reasons to get more than the gun and attack from a distance other than to experiment. Seemed like having multiple weapons didn't help me out much.
It was also a little difficult to tell where exactly the hurt/hit boxes were going to be - I died a few times thinking I was safe.
I also really liked that there was some narrative, most games don't have any!
Keep up the great work
The sound effects of this game take it up to 11! Very simple premise, but it made even shoveling coal fun! I really liked how the faster you went also made it harder to (satisfyingly) squish all those gold-stealing bugs! I really connected with wanting to just get to the mint without being bothered by bugs! Bravo!
Fun to catch up some speed! Could use some changes in the art, when I was moving fast it was hard to tell what I should avoid and the background gets a little mushy.
Looks great, sounds great, cool aesthetic, and some interesting mechanics. It wasn't obvious who's turn it was, which moves were going to hurt/heal and if it would affect allies. However, I like the unique moves of each piece and the way you can use spells to enable plays or avoid taking damage. A very great idea and a good job!
Great use of two characters sharing the same controls, as well as using them to collide with one another! On one hand it's refreshing to have a puzzle game with some timing based input, on the other hand some of the windows are pretty short, which is frustrating if I already know the solution.
Was a little confused what I was doing and who was good or bad but figured it out eventually. Very simple, but I kept hearing a crackling noise which I guessed was the many footsteps of people?
Like others said, it was a little too easy - upping the difficulty could make this a much different experience!
@nayrahbbt Laying on the booster makes those tight turns pretty tough! Make sure to hit the brakes when you see a tight corner coming up, and you'll come out ahead with a little extra blood to boot!
I'm glad folks are having fun, I know I've had a blast!
@charlesschar Most of the SFX are Foley and we're made by 'mouth'! Good ear! Thanks everyone for the feedback!
@snowschu Thank you for the review and playing it on stream! We really appreciate the feedback and are glad you enjoyed the game!
Thanks everyone for the great feedback! We know there's lots of room for improvement (it is a Jam game after all!) but we're really proud of what we made.
When I saw the generic anime characters I thought 'Oh no' but then I saw the cute/terrifying Mimic and decided to give it a try. I had more fun with it than I thought I would and the game gets pretty difficult towards the end! I also really liked whoever did the voices.
Great art, really too bad you couldn't finish it but I like the ambition. Got stuck in the first dialog unfortunately.
Very ambitious, I like the idea but I was having a lot of issues figuring out how the memory was counted and when I could or couldn't do a set of commands.
Additionally, I feel a lot of the commands could be shorted to M E for Move East, or R R for Rotate Right.
Otherwise very cool project!
Cute little game, nice idle game with a very small feel. Feels very polished!
Nice graphics and I like the idea, but unfortunately without another player I really just had to experience this as a 'sandbox' game. I would have liked to be able to go for a high score in the time limit instead.
Nice presentation for how simple it is, I had to do some thinking to remember what the other side of the pyramid looked like so I could plan my way up.
In some cases it didn't seem like the controls were 100% responsive but I was still able to reach the top!
I really struggled to figure out what was going on. I threw a bunch of people at the farms and quarry but never made any progress. I really liked the idea of the strategy game that you played by orbiting around the monument you are trying to build, it's just a shame that I couldnt seem to make any progress on it.
**Excellent* presentation! It's a twinstick shooter that had a baby with Sonic and... it looks a bit like Don't Starve?
Everything about this felt very polished, I can easily see the theme, and this game looks ready to be expanded upon. Great work!
Absolutely love the artwork and animations, and it was fun to play a tower defense that you could also participate in! Audio was a little loud but otherwise the samples you found all fit in nicely.
Great work for a Game Jam!
Really liked that you can opt for an 'easier' difficulty but you get fewer chances to make mistakes. Also kudos for the honesty regarding asset usage - still is a fun puzzler!
Something about this made me smile a lot, has a lot of charm! Shout out to another Godot developer!
Like the graphics, neat idea. I had trouble figuring out what I was trying to do and what was going on - felt like things were going too quick and I didn't have a grasp on what I wanted to do.
Music fits nicely. I did get stuck on a mission that seemed to last forever - being able to quit and do something else would have let me feel like I had more control. I seemed to just wait until I lost.
Very cute game, it felt like a cross between Katamari and Flower. I wish it was easier to know when I was going to run out of seeds instead of guessing, and also I had a lot of seeds disappear before I had a chance to grab them which was disappointing.
I had a huge smile on my face while playing this!
**OOF** this game's laying on the spooks *thick*! Really loved the atmosphere, almost everything contributed to the fear and sense of dread! There's even a puzzle in there!
This game may be simple but it's all about atmosphere, and I've not seen many games that come close!
Very fun idea, and really cool you got it running on a fantasy console! I liked how it works as a stealth game until you wake up a bunch of foxes - then it turned to action as you either try to find a way out of the den or rush around picking up the last few coins.
I'm also the proud owner of a fancy new mole car so I can't complain there.
I really like the negative feedback loop for the difficulty - as you get bigger, the game naturally gets harder. The art is nice, but the background pattern scrolling past makes my eyes hurt.
Pretty fun! I really felt like a wad 'o cash
I'd rate 5 Stars in Audio just for the announcer.
I love that it jumped right in, got me in the mood, and *taught me how to play*! You can't ask for a better introduction than that!
The platforming is a bit lackluster, but that's okay because I was so ready to get back in the Dome! It wasn't obvious I could hit TAB to return before the timer if I feel I have everything I need already. I like having two types of gameplay - one to collect resources for the other. Hints are a nice addition, makes it more of a puzzle game that you get clues to by playing!
Had a lot of fun with this one!
I liked the graphics, but the SFX got a little harsh after I started shooting out a lot of money. Was challenging to balance offence with making sure you don't run out of coins!
I couldn't get past the tutorial on the HTML5 build, am I missing something? I really like the mechanic, seems like you're well on your way to something fun!
@luther-1 In my experience, more information, even if you're treating the player like a child, is better than no information when it comes to how to play :)
Looks great, cool idea, and nailed it's aesthetic.
It was a bit hard to read and parse what the pros and cons were going to be of each choice, but otherwise this is phenomenal work for something done in such short time!
I felt bad killing the adorable spiders. Nice idea with time being currency.
Bill needs to learn how to be okay skipping a meal. I like how it's got time management and movement management built in, reminds me a lot of Kingdom.
Like others, I didn't realize I was trading upgrades instead of combining them, so I ran out of souls. Gotta feed that hungry Death. Nice graphics!
Definitely oozing charm. It was a little hard to control, but was fun once I got the hang of it.
It's the classic fish game with a twist - a way and reason to reduce size. I really like the idea, and graphics are simple. Biggest complaint is eventually you get really big but the tiny spikes are still just as deadly.
Interesting little idea, I like that I was able to build a little story and read it at the end.
Wow I really enjoyed this! Great 'losing' effect too. Good choice of music and I liked the visual style. I had a bit of trouble figuring out when and where I could clear lines, but eventually I was really left thinking. Great work!
Nice art, but really I'm just here for the Jellybeans
The simple graphics are nice, and the monsters are my favorite! It got a little difficult with so many monsters, I was struggling to get past them, especially since it was hard to know I was losing health.
I don't care how much you helped other people, you wrestle snails you're out, bucko.
Some of the qualities were a bit arbitary, which made it entertaining. But I didn't get much feedback until the end so I couldn't tell what the game wanted me to pick until too late.
Fun idea!
Cool idea, seemed a lot like a clicker/idle game with a twist. Clicking too much is a bad thing :skull_crossbones: Could really use an autofire button so I'm not mashing that blood button!
I also wasn't sure what my goals were or the initial controls.
I love the SFX in this game, you can really tell that you used real flies and real meat. Graphics are fun, good use of the theme, and everything is nice and fleshy. I'm ready to pledge to the MEAT
Looks great, very charming. Like the 'legacy' style mechanics to let you build the best bug you can! Good work!
There's a special kind of irony when you drown trying not to overwater plants.
@ideaspersecond Its tracking the number of times you've delayed your inevitable death. Thanks so much for playing our game!
