Cute game, I liked petting the filing cabinet.
I really like the art style it's cute. But I wish there was a run option
fun game! was expecting something completely different from the title but I got it. liked especially the art and the music with dogs barking at a rithm! only moving felt a little too slow, maybe that can be sped up! cool game overall!
Please, make the walk a little faster. Aside from that it's a cool game, I really really like the graphic style.
"YIP YIP HERMAN. YIP YIP HERMAN"
Nice graphics style and all, but the control is too slow and clunky.
Very cute game. There isn't all too much gameplay in it. But what there is, is done well and it's enjoyable. The art style is really nice and the music feels good. Great job!
10/10 for the 3Dness of the radio music
Nice Game! like the 3D design going on
cool idea, just really wished I could walk faster!
Love the graphic! But man, that shelter is huuge, I wish I could run.
Nice visual style! I loved the low poly graphics. At the beginning i didn't saw the lower part of the shelter, at that moment i realised it would be really helpful to walk faster.
Hey there, just played your game! The things I loved the most were the graphics (color palette and cutesy 3D models really made it shine) and the use of theme - I love dogs personally, so you got me there. However, I wish there was a run button, because it broke my heart that I couldn't feed all these dogs efficiently. Hope you understand!
I feel like the character you play as could really do with a hip replacement to help correct his gait and slow walking pace πΆββοΈ Love the art style - like the little blurbs about the dogs - and great application to theme!
@mediyaz The employee suffered a horrible car accident and has been on the long road to recovery since. As part of his Physical Therapy, it was recommended he find a position where he can be walking around for part of the day to strengthen his muscles. The shelter was a perfect opportunity - he could be on his feet, and helping animals in need proved to be excellent therapy. We hope that in even 14 months, he'll be moving like his regular self.
@dorblin7z7 AWWWWWWWW okay okay OKAYY FINE - I will donate my hip for the transplant π
Cute little game but i think you could increase the music level and accelerate the movements of the character, he is sooo slow x) But nice, a game where there is nobody to kill, like that ! :p
The shapes and colors are really nice to look at. The player-character's posture is tipped back a little far, but good on you for doing a complete walk cycle and other animations. For me, the field is way too big, and it takes too long to schlep around the room. I would like to be able to see the whole room at once. The tiny notifications in the lower left were distracting; they went away too fast. I gave up trying to remember any of the dogs' names. The isometric projection was nicer than a flat-on view, but could you make the motion controls relate to the angles instead of having to [a][w][a][w] my way around the room? I died twice because I couldn't figure out how to do anything but feed the dogs. By then, I was tired of my character taking his sweet time about getting from place to place. This idea and artwork deserve better locomotion! (Music was also nice.) [Please name your files with the game name. "ld42.app" is like when I'm hiring and everyone's resume is called "resume.doc."]
@wrenpirate thanks for the thoughtful feedback! some great points you brought up. movement and map scale are the big ones I want to fix post-jam
It's beautiful but I found it a bit slow moving and the game seemed to be balanced such that it's basically impossible to meet the needs of all the dogs. Could this be a comment on the impossible strain put on shelters by IRL people buying from breeders? Adopt, don't buy! I loved that this was a game that had an AR message (that's animal rights, not augmented reality.) Beautiful job.
Really liked the graphical style and enojed saving the dogs by giving them new homes. Glad to see more Godot projects and it's nice to see some code also. Thank you for a great piece of art!
Nice one. The music almost get me crazy but it's fine ! ^^ I've been able to save 22 dogs ! :p
very sweet thing, almost felt sorry for hungry puppoes and very happy for adopted :D
I managed to last for around twelve minutes before running out of space β it definitely fits the theme, although I think maybe there could have been a little more to it. If you moved a little faster or maybe the gameplay was expanded to include matching dogs to owners (since the dogs have descriptions), that would have made it more interesting to play for that length of time, for me. It certainly felt like it needed something to break the routine I fell into.
I liked that the artwork wasn't too cluttered. The music was fine for me but the voices got a little bit repetitive, as there were only three phrases to hear! Great work, though!
Very cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! obviously you could add more gameplay elements to spice it up, but it's a darn jam! The sound and visual design alone is a feat to pull off in a jam game. Very nice.
@karmafarm You got it, rescues near us are currently suffering a crisis with a huge influx of dogs that need homes. Irresponsible breeders put a huge strain on the community! We wanted to capture that feeling of not being able to keep up and... running out of space! Thank you for playing.
Extremely cute game, I wanted to recue all the good bois and girls. The art is excellent, and I love the barks matching the music. I think that the level is too big and you move waaaaay too slowly. I'd love to read the little text boxes describing each dog but there is definitely no time if I want to feed them all. :( Great entry overall!
Really nice one! Super chill, had fun caring for the pups.
I really really love the art style on this one! the music and audio is great as well. The tutorial was a nice touch. The movement speed is really slow and combined with the big level makes it really tedious.
Cutest game I ve played in this ludum dare. Indeed the movement is a bit slow, but the art is perfect, audio is great and the overall project is solid! Great work here!
Nice art! I wish there was a pause key so I could read the dogs' information without worrying about them starving. Having to choose between story and victory is sad :(
Really good take on the theme! The movement is so slow I almost wish it was a clicker game, though. Love the procedurally-generated dogs, found one that looked a bit like a big lizard.
@kaiclavier thank you! I think clicker-type gameplay could definitely work well with this
Ooh! A 3D Godot game.
The mechanics are simple and fun. Although the walking is painfully slow.
So I downloaded the source to change the walking speed but it became unbalanced and impossible to lose.
The music is so good why keep it low? So I turned the buses' volume up to 12 dB.
Challenging game, lovely graphics. I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 42 compilation video series, if youβd like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/CCzYoSZIQ24
@dleanjeans Yeah we agree movement is too slow. We didn't have much time to balance the gameplay at the end of the weekend unfortunately. Sound volume was okay on my computer, but I'll keep a volume slider in mind for the future.
@jupiter-hadley Awesome, thanks Jupiter!
